'''Warpath''' is brash and boastful, always keen to show off his prowess with his giant cannon. Not only is it violently powerful, but it's extremely accurate, even over a range of a mile and a half. It gives him the confidence to charge headlong into battle against the [[Decepticon]]s. Unfortunately said cannon has also made him slightly deaf, so speak up, would ya?

Warpath was among the many Autobots who defended the [[Decagon]] during the [[Decepticon]] invasion of Iacon and helped clear a path for the future [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]] and his team. After Optimus became Prime following the death of [[Sentinel Zeta Prime]], Warpath joined Optimus and [[Ironhide (Prime)|Ironhide]] on a mission to Cybertron's infected core. After successfully cleansing the core and defeating a corrupted Spaceslug, it turned out that their journey was pointless; the core had to deactivate itself in order for the planet to survive, which would take millions of years. As Warpath and Ironhide displayed worried glances after Optimus proclaimed that the Autobots must leave Cybertron in order for them to survive, they bore witness as Optimus received the Matrix of Leadership from the core.

He later helped evacuate Cybertron during the big shutdown, surviving [[Trypticon (Prime)|Trypticon]]'s rampage. {{storylink|Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)}}
Six days before the launch of the [[Ark (WFC)|Ark]], Warpath got word that [[Perceptor (Prime)|Perceptor]] and some other Autobot techheads were trapped in Autobot City's nerve center. He and Optimus took some troopers to fight off the Decepticons attacking the center. Despite heavy resistance, they cleared the area and Optimus sent Warpath back to organize the Ark's defenses. Unfortunately the Decepticons launched a massive assault on the Autobot launch pad and it was only when Optimus got the neutron gun and [[Metroplex (FOC)|Metroplex]] online that the Decepticons were eventually repelled. {{storylink|Transformers: Fall of Cybertron|Fall of Cybertron}}
His fate is unknown if he boarded the Ark on its take off or stayed behind with the Autobot resistance.
==Notes==
* In "Gathering Troops" on the Autobot DS game, and "The Plot forms" on the Decepticon DS game, he is seen using a solid ranged weapon in the combat range, but once you play as him, he uses a plasma ranged weapon.
* In the Xbox 360/PS3/PC version of the game during Chapter VIII: 'To the Core,' he actually says, "I'll show you what a Defender can do!" Coincidentally , this is also the name of the chassis representing the form of Warpath in the multiplayer.
'''Scientists''' defeat their enemies with ''science.'' To that end, they use a variety of support weapons and abilities and can repair teammates. Scientists are the only class that can see their teammate's life bars. They can also transform into jets and attack with guided missiles.

==Characteristics (War for Cybertron)==
''Life bar: 3''

===Weapons===
Scientists can equip two of these four weapons:
*[[Neutron assault rifle]]
*[[Photon burst rifle]]
They use energon clubs in melee and carry [[Energon grenade|Energon grenades]].

===Abilities===
Scientists can eventually choose two from four different abilities:
*Shockwave: Issue an area-wide force-bubble that pushes enemies back and causes damage.
*Spawn Sentry: Create an automatic hovering gun that can spot cloaked guys. Its life will continuously drain, but it can be healed with a Repair Ray.
*Drain: Siphon health from enemies.
*Disguise: [[Redeco]] yourself so you appear as an ally to your enemies. You will be revealed if the enemy targets you.
Vehicle mode:
*Barrel roll: A quick movement to either side, enabling evasion of enemy attacks. DO IT!

*Health Matrix 2.0 (3 kills): Teammates receive health for every kill.
*Overshield Matrix (5 kills): Teammates receive overshields.
*Nucleon Shock Cannon (7 kills): Spawns a Rocket Turret.

==Characteristics (Fall of Cybertron)==

The Scientist class returned in ''Fall of Cybertron'' as the only class with the same name as its predecessor. Like the other classes ([[Titan (FOC)|Titan]], [[Destroyer (FOC)|Destroyer]], and [[Infiltrator (FOC)|Infiltrator]]), the Scientist received some changes to its gameplay style.

===Body Types===

Six body types were available with the game initially, with two unlocked from the get-go and the rest available by spending [[Energon|Energon Shards]]. The heads, chest/vehicle, shoulders, arms, legs, and wings were interchangeable. The initial bodies were:
*'''Guardian''' ([[Jetfire (WFC)|Jetfire]])
*'''Arclight''' ([[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]])
*'''Protector''' ([[Air Raid (WFC)|Air Raid]])
*'''Vanguard''' ([[Vortex (FOC)|Vortex]]; Although wings can't be altered with this type equipped, selecting wings on another chassis then equipping the Vanguard chest enables the wings to be seen on the tail of the helicopter)
*'''Skymaster''' ([[Silverbolt (WFC)|Silverbolt]])
*'''Defender''' ([[Shockwave (Prime)|Shockwave]])
Several bonus heads could be added on by attaining certain levels. They were:
*'''Hunter''' ([[Swoop (Prime)|Swoop]] beast head, unlocked at level 25)
*'''Tyrant''' ([[Metroplex (FOC)|Metroplex]])
*'''Pest''' ([[Sharpshot]] insect head, unlocked at Prime level 25)
*'''Elite''' (Starscream with a crown, unlocked by reaching Prime 25 with every class)
Later, downloadable content could be purchased that added more body types. So far, they've been:
*'''Wingman''' ([[Blast Off (FOC)|Blast Off]])
*'''Jurassic''' (Swoop; wings can't be altered with this type)
*'''Buzz''' (Sharpshot; Wings can't be altered with this type)
*'''Stinger''' ([[Kickback (FOC) |Kickback]]; Wings can't be altered with this type))
Finally, each class could apply a variety of [[Insignia|faction symbols]] (called "[[Sticker|decals]]"). Each set cost 400 Energon Shards, and many contained references to past Transformers subgroups. They were: [[Targetmaster|Targetmasters]]; [[Lightning Strike Coalition Force|Lightning Strikeforce]]; [[Battlechargers|Warchargers]]; [[Astro Squad]]; [[Protectobots]]; Energo Squad; [[Battle Squad]]; [[Laser Rod|Lazer Rods]].

===Weapons===
Each class in FOC was able to equip a primary and secondary firearm, and each had four to choose from. Two would be unlocked to begin with, and the rest became available as levels were gained. Each weapon upgrades that could be added by gaining levels. Notably, the Scientist's [[Energon repair ray|repair ray]] was moved to an ability slot. The Scientist could wield:
*'''[[Neutron assault rifle|Neutron Assault Rifle]]'''
*'''[[Orbital Pistol]]'''
*'''[[Gear Shredder]]'''
*'''[[Photon burst rifle|Photon Burst Rifle]]'''

===Abilities===
Each class had access to two different abilities and could equip one at a time. The second ability, as well as various upgrades, could be unlocked by gaining experience. The Scientist had:
*'''Heal Beam''' - An electric beam that heals friendly characters. Scientists could fire their weapons while healing, and the beam could be canceled by pressing the ability button, effectively replacing the energon repair ray.
*'''Battle Sentry''' - Spawns a floating gun that targets any enemy nearby.
'''Starscream''' is a hero on the wrong side. Over the centuries he's come to believe both [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]] and [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] have lost sight of what is best for the Cybertronian race, and simply pursue their own agendas. At some point, he came to the decision that, for the good of the species, a new leader must emerge, and he would be that leader. However, over time, he became as corrupt in his own way as Megatron, although he prefers subtlety and deception to Megatron's brute force. Now, what may once have been noble goals are buried under layers of self interest, transforming Starscream into that which he supposedly despised.
==Fiction==
===IDW ''Transformers'' movie comics===
Many years before civil war broke out on Cybertron, Starscream was guarding a [[hatchling]] school trip when they were attacked by a [[Driller|subterranean monster]]. He was saved by [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and [[Shockwave (Movie)|Shockwave]], much to his irritation, but Megatron liked Starscream's "feisty" attitude, and saw a place for him in the future of Cybertron he hoped to shape. He later joined Megatron's [[Defense Force]], and was very much at home, killing a [[malcontent]] that challenged the new order in spite of surrendering. {{storylink|Foundation issue 2|Foundation #2}}

[[Image:Defiance1_Starscream_Ratchet.jpg|thumb|left|300px|Someone is praising Starscream!? Stop the presses!]]

Later, he was patrolling the [[Eshems Nebula]] when he encountered the fourth alien scout ship he had spotted in the same [[Units of time|cycle]]. As he related this to first officer [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] of the [[Science Division]], this time the alien ship did not maintain a safe distance, forcing Starscream to attack, and he was damaged in the subsequent battle (and was late for a meeting with [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]] and [[Lord High Protector]] Megatron). Soon afterwards, these same aliens attacked Cybertron, and Starscream commanded the aerial forces in the defense of the [[Simfur Temple|temple]] in [[Simfur]]. After Megatron was injured in battle, Starscream rushed to his side to enquire about his condition and to ask for further orders. He was informed to keep Optimus's team out of the military's way. {{storylink|Defiance issue 1|Defiance #1}}

Megatron was influenced by [[The Fallen|the mysterious relic]] found outside [[Simfur]] to wage a vengeful war against the aliens. Starscream attended a war rally at [[Trypticon (Movie)|Trypticon]] where Megatron assumed dictatorship of Cybertron and its armed forces. After destroying much of the enemy fleet and eliminating its leader, Megatron ordered Starscream and his fellow fliers to destroy the alien flagship and conquer the surrounding systems. {{Storylink|Defiance issue 2|Defiance #2}} Underground opposition to the new regime came in the form of Optimus and his science division, something Lord Megatron would not stand for. While [[Prowl (Movie)|Prowl]] and security officers arrested Optimus on trumped-up charges of treason, Starscream's squadron was given orders to capture Optimus alive and leave no living witnesses. Unfortunately, Optimus ''Prime'' proved more than a match for Starscream's entire unit, bringing down the ruins of a city upon them. The group survived, and were used by Megatron as "proof" that there were enemies within Cybertron as well as without, to rally his army into a new faction: the Decepticons. {{Storylink|Defiance issue 3|Defiance #3}}

During the launch of the ''[[Nemesis (ROTF)|Nemesis]]'', Starscream believed Megatron's propaganda that [[Sentinel Prime (ROTF)|Sentinel Prime]] was a liar, and expressed disdain for Optimus's claim that he was a Prime too. {{storylink|Foundation issue 3|Foundation #3}} During the subsequent civil war, Starscream blindly followed Megatron's orders, murdering those who did not bow to his Lord's will, even those who did not choose sides. {{Storylink|Defiance issue 4|Defiance #4}} During the Autobot assault on Simfur Temple, Starscream noticed [[Elita-One (Movie)|Elita-One]] reaching the [[AllSpark]] and activating Sentinel's "[[pillar|torch]]". He pursued her but she escaped into the tunnels. Despite Megatron's desperate command to stand down, Starscream attacked Sentinel when he arrived on the [[Ark (DOTM)|Ark]], causing the ship to disappear in a tremendous explosion. {{storylink|Foundation issue 4|Foundation #4}}

Starscream was inside [[Lord High Protector citadel|Megatron's citadel]] when Optimus launched another attack in revenge for Sentinel's death. While Optimus and Megatron faced off, Starscream and Shockwave fought their former captain, [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]]. When the sky darkened, Optimus emerged and blasted both of them, allowing them to escape. The attack had actually been a distraction from [[Wheeljack (Movie)|Wheeljack]]'s theft of the AllSpark after the first assault had exhausted Simfur's Decepticons. {{storylink|Foundation issue 4|Foundation #4}} Later, Starscream was leading an assault on the Autobots at [[Tyger Pax]] when [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]] arrived to reinforce them. They witnessed the launch of the AllSpark into space, a desperate gambit by the Autobots, and immediately Starscream and Blackout began to bicker over their next move. Seeing Megatron leave the planet in pursuit of the AllSpark, Starscream decided that so would they. {{storylink|Planetfall (Movie)|Planetfall}}

[[Image:Planetfall Starscream yesweare.jpg|200px|thumb|"Hey, what's that?"<br/>"I'd call it a TARGET!"]]

Starscream was concerned over the Autobots who still posed a threat, but Megatron ordered him to gather a crew to pursue [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]]'s [[Ark (Movie)|ship]]. Unfortunately, [[Nemesis (Movie)|Starscream's ship]] was led into a trap and crippled by [[concussion pulse]] weapons, throwing them off the chase, for now. Humiliated, Starscream and his crew limped back home for repairs. Sometime later, they followed the AllSpark's trace energy pulse and the wake of Prime's ship to a solar system galaxies away. Landing on the [[Mars (planet)|fourth planet]], they destroyed [[Beagle 2 Rover|a primitive lifeform]] that seemed to have been created from the AllSpark, and felt the tag of the life-giving object on the third planet. {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 1|The Reign of Starscream #1}}
Starscream's team made planetfall on [[Earth]] in Afghanistan, quickly attracting the attention of a nearby US military base, which sent out an armoured personnel carrier to investigate. After it was destroyed, the Decepticons attacked the base itself. During the rather one-sided assault, a human agent of Sector Seven was impressed by the alien invaders' ability to adapt to Earth's finest weaponry. Starscream agreed that they were impressive, and killed the fleshling. After Blackout left the group for another nearby base, Starscream told his fellow Decepticons that their mission wouldn't always be this easy, as the Autobots were bound to turn up. {{storylink|Planetfall (Movie)|Planetfall}} {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 1|The Reign of Starscream #1}}
Splitting up, they headed to Earth, where Starscream scanned an F-22 Raptor fighter jet being tested by the [[United States Air Force|US Air Force]] at [[United States Air Force#Facilities|Nellis Air Force Base]]. He destroyed it, then adopted the vehicle form for himself. Leaving the scene of destruction, he radioed his fellow Decepticons to report in on their hunt for new disguise forms, which they did. He reiterated that their mission was to find the AllSpark, to which Blackout responded with a reminder that the mission was also to find Megatron. Starscream dismissively replied, "Yeah, right... him too."

Later, Starscream and Blackout detected the unique radiation of the AllSpark and investigated, but Starscream soon realized it was a trap by Sector Seven. Starscream destroyed several AH-64 Apache helicopters while Blackout attacked Sector Seven's bunker and attempted to hack into their mainframe. When the humans severed the connection, the Decepticons broke off from the battle and linked up with Barricade, who was in pursuit of the Autobot [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]]. {{storylink|Movie Prequel issue 4|Movie Prequel #4}}
Starscream led the Decepticons to Earth while following the beacon signal used by Bumblebee to call the Autobots. In typical Starscream fashion, he seemed more concerned about collecting the AllSpark to further his own goals than to rescue [[Megatron (Movie)|Lord High Protector Megatron]]. Attracting the attention of a nearby military installation, they were attacked, but easily overpowered the humans, after which he and Blackout took their [[alternate mode]]s from vehicles on base. Starscream, along with Blackout, followed Bumblebee as he fled from a losing battle against Barricade.

Later, when Sector Seven tried to use a false energy signature to attract Bumblebee to their location, the Decepticons picked up on it and followed. Realizing the signal was fake, Starscream pulled the troops out and waited for the Autobots to arrive and flush out the AllSpark for them. {{storylink|Transformers: Beginnings (Movie)|Transformers: Beginnings}}
===''Ghosts of Yesterday'' prequel novel===
Starscream had ascended to Decepticon leadership in the absence of their former lord, and though he had to ''seem'' to carry on the long search for the lost Megatron and the [[AllSpark]] to keep his position as leader, his greatest hope was that Megatron would NEVER be found. Some loyal Decepticons, especially [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]], strongly suspected this and sought to frustrate Starscream's species-serving plans. [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] buddied up with him, but he did like to trick people. [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]] hated him, but one shouldn't really read too much into that. [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] and [[Scorponok (Movie)|Scorponok]]'s opinions are unknown, but Frenzy's a complete lunatic and nobody cared what the pet thought.

During a search of an abandoned solar system, the ''[[Nemesis (Movie)|Nemesis]]'' came across ''[[Ghost 1|a vessel]]'' that bore a resemblance to Megatron's [[alternate mode]]. Starscream went to investigate it, intending to destroy it. After chasing off [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], he communicated with the creatures aboard the vessel, who called themselves [[human]]s. Starscream claimed that his people once lived with the [[Autobot]]s, and that their treacherous leader, [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], started a war for the AllSpark. The humans told him of a robotic creature that they had found on their world, and Starscream, recognizing it as Megatron, told them it was an Autobot scout. While communicating with them, he downloaded all the information on their computers, learning that the AllSpark was also located on Earth. He offered to help the humans to return to their world if they helped Starscream's group attack the Autobots, hoping that Prime would destroy them and be guilt-stricken in the process. The humans attacked Optimus and Bumblebee, but the two Autobots escaped. After their ship sank into a cavern, Starscream revealed his true nature and abandoned them. As a result, the humans concluded neither faction could be fully trusted. Way to make first contact there, Starscream.

Returning to the battle, he lied to his fellow Decepticons, claiming that the two Autobots were dead and that he'd been unable to communicate with the humans. Blackout, unconvinced by the story, challenged Starscream to single combat. Starscream won, and the Decepticons launched an attack on the ''[[Ark (Movie)|Ark]]''. Unfortunately for Starscream, Optimus, Bumblebee and the human vessel showed up. Starscream, fearful of the information that the ship contained, ordered the Decepticons to destroy it. Unfortunately, Starscream experienced a minor mutiny when Bonecrusher and Blackout demanded answers, and even Barricade wanted to know why. As the battle drew to a close, Starscream was in a position to terminate Prime but came under fire from the humans' weapons. Seriously damaged, Starscream finished them off with a single plasma blast, then ordered the Decepticons to retreat, despite the advantage they had over the Autobots. The Autobots figured that Starscream would not risk traveling to [[Earth]] for fear of losing power, but Prime figured that it was only a matter of time before the desire for vengeance and the lure of the AllSpark brought the Decepticons to that world. {{storylink|Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday|Ghosts of Yesterday}}
Starscream was lying in wait at a [[United States military|US]] air base when covert agent [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] reported that the [[AllSpark]] had been located, along with Megatron, underneath [[Hoover Dam]]. Though he had long feared this day would come, Starscream ordered the rest of the Decepticons to mobilize. The others responded, with Blackout rallying in the name of Megatron.

The first to arrive, Starscream attacked the hydroelectric power plant attached to the dam to cause havoc to [[Sector Seven|Sector Seven's]] operations and to speed the thawing of Megatron. With Frenzy's sabotage, Megatron quickly broke free of his icy restraints and escaped the facility. He almost immediately met with the waiting Starscream, who repledged his loyalty to Megatron. Demanding to know what had happened to the AllSpark, Megatron was told by his [[second-in-command]] that it was now in the possession of the humans. Furious, Megatron berated his lieutenant for yet another failure. What a warm reunion.

During the assault on a [[Mission City|nearby city]], Starscream fooled [[William Lennox|Captain Lennox's]] unit by posing as an [[wikipedia:F-22 Raptor|F-22 Raptor]] providing cover. Starscream launched an attack that crippled [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] as [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] realized too late who the fighter really was. As [[Sam Witwicky|Sam Witwicky]] ran with the AllSpark, Starscream swooped down, blocking his path, only to be attacked by both Ironhide and [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]]. After fighting without much effort, but still besting them, Starscream took to the skies again, instead of securing the AllSpark from the now-defenseless Sam.
While Megatron attempted to retrieve the AllSpark from Sam, Starscream perched on nearby buildings and shot down an Army Blackhawk helicopter when it attempted to help the human evacuate the Cube. Eventually, real F-22 Raptors from the US Air Force arrived, and Starscream disguised himself. Pretending to be a part of their squadron, Starscream surprised the human pilots by transforming in mid-air and destroying three of the Raptors before he was fired upon. He transformed back into his disguise and fled, and was not seen in the closing moments of the battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron. (Or was he?)
Within seconds of Megatron's defeat, Starscream dubbed himself the new Decepticon leader, with the main problem being that he didn't actually have any troops to lead. To amend this slight impediment, he attacked several [[AllSpark Mutation]]s and removed the energy from their bodies, which he then proceeded to implant into the corpses of [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]], [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]]. With his former comrades reanimated in this [[Zombie|rudimentary manner]], he directed the shambling husks to attack the Autobots, who were still recovering from their battle that had just finished. Starscream remained on Earth serving under Megatron—and taking orders from [[Dropkick]], who's got a higher rank. In secret, however, he was using [[Insecticon (Movie)|Insecticons]] to implant cerebro-strips in the heads of useful humans; at will, he could control their minds, paving the way for a more subtle conquest when he finally got Megatron out of the way. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 14|Aftermath Part 1}}
One of his first acts as leader was to begin a bombing campaign against any human attempt to rebuild infrastructure or regain a foothold in the United States. His ambush almost worked too, and he almost killed Prime himself—only for the Autobots to turn out to have had a better plan all along, and escape. Admitting to the voices that he had failed and demanding a strategy from then, he realised to his horror that Megatron's mind had wanted him to take the interface module and had downloaded his brain into it; The voice ''really was'' Megatron and he was demanding to be released! {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 22|The Decepticon Who Haunted Himself}}

[[Image:Star Screams logo.JPG|left|150px|thumb|Hate mail!]]
As of issue 7, he runs the letters page (renamed Star Screams from the original Mech Mail). He hates the letters, the readers, the comic, the editorial team, and probably the baby [[Jesus]]—but he's still got nothing on ''[[Transformers: Armada (franchise)|Armada]]'' [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream's]] [[Transformers: Armada (Panini)|letter-answering stint]]. The source of his misanthropy appears to be that nobody ever sent in fan-art of him (#8). The few things he does like are recycling and environmental measures (#14), girls becoming Transformers fans (#19), and [[To sell toys|humans collecting his action figures]].

Autobot sympathisers are hunted down to be exterminated, especially those who dress up as Autobots (#8, #12 and #17), and even the Prime Minister isn't safe (#24). That said, Starscream appears to have a soft spot for his own fans—in #11, when a female reader complained her mum and aunt kept telling her she was too old for Transformers, he announced that the offending relatives had been shortlisted to spend forever polishing his armour with their own spit, bless.

In #8, he revealed he hates the movie because his best scenes and lines were cut out, and #13 confirmed the Decepticon army loathes [[Michael Bay]] for producing pro-Autobot propaganda. This still hasn't prevented him from shilling Bay's second documentary ''[[Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (film)|Revenge of the Fallen]]'', as he believes it will depict a Decepticon victory (#10) and is going to ignore the script if it says otherwise (#18). Since then, however, he has come under the sway of an unknown higher power in regards to the film, one Starscream fears (#22)...

In #7, he expressed concern that this "[[Simon Furman|Fur-Man]]" was a [[Maximal]] agent, and warned that Titan Magazines would be destroyed if they continued to produce Autobot propaganda. By #13, the Decepticons appear to have taken over Titan and have imprisoned the staff and creators in cages, forcing them to work merely for food—it is surely no coincidence that during this period, Starscream became a successful leader of the Decepticons in the comic strip and that Starscream began wanting more issues brought out. This mistreatment is causing severe physical trauma to [[Steve White]] and [[Den Patrick]] (#19) though Fur-Man is still a free agent and is evading Decepticon capture (#21). Writer [[Robin Etherington]] appears to have angered him, as Starscream is believed to have deliberately miscredited one of his stories in #24. [http://www.studioblinktwice.com/announce.php?Year=2009]

He has incredible hate for [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]], gleefully recounting the guy's horrible death and going berserk in #9 at the idea of Jazz answering the letters.

While he has said he talks to himself to get intelligent conversation and doesn't trust anyone (#9), he has shown some signs of wanting company: he hoped the [[Seeker (Movie)|Seeker]] jets would all be reunited in the next film (#9), is trying to convince [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] to be in it too (#15), and wishes Ironhide would join the Decepticons (#16). Despite wanting to re-unite with Thundercracker, he shows contempt for the guy's lack of drive (#11). He views [[Shockwave (Movie)|Shockwave]] and Soundwave as potential successors if anything ever happens to him (#21). He also appreciates [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout's]] work (#23) and while he's annoyed the helicopter is more popular than him, he did go to the trouble of giving the guy a proper burial. (#25)

Starscream appears to have had several "off the record" adventures. He has revealed he once had an [[Starscream (G1)|F-15 mode]] and liked it (#9), openly confirming he was [[:Image:Starscream 1982.jpg|active in 1982]] and the impetus for the [[Hungry Dragon]] cover-up. He also refers to [[Thundercracker (Movie)|Thundercracker]] also being an F-15 (#11), implying both were active in [[1982]]. He has also had some experience with and knowledge of [[Unicron]] (#12), something [[Transformers Comic issue 19|no other Transformer had]] and something that terrified him (#17), and in which he apparently witnessed Unicron trying to devour Cybertron (#19)...

He maintains that his voice is not [[Chris Latta|scratchy]] in any way.

Eventually, however, the constant stress of the letters drove him to a nervous breakdown, and he was sent to a very special home (or "on a mission of great importance", according to his cover story). He still produces a regular horrorscope. (Vol.2 #1) [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] has wondered about Starscream's ongoing absence, noting the home must have better security than the Decepticons first thought! (Vol.2 #12)
Though tempted to exact revenge on the humans, he realized he might be the last functional Decepticon on the planet, so he escaped Mission City to recover the badly-damaged Barricade. Starscream gave him orders to continue his reconnaissance of the Autobot once he was able, and headed for Hoover Dam to retrieve Frenzy. {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 1|The Reign of Starscream #1}}

Starscream made his way to Hoover Dam, taking out masses of human soldiers and a [[Landmine (Movie)|less-than-functional attack drone]]. Starscream took a [[Salazar|human captive]] along with Frenzy's body, but the fleshling didn't survive the Decepticon's trip to [[Mars (planet)|Mars]]. However, the trip, combined with the damage from the battle took its toll and upon finding his starship, he had to be helped inside by [[Thundercracker (Movie)|Thundercracker]]. The pair discussed Thundercracker's progress with the space bridge terminal, the physiology of humans and the abilities of Starscream's new form. While recharging, he ordered Thundercracker to download the information from Frenzy; however, an Autobot scouting party interrupted their efforts. {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 2|The Reign of Starscream #2}}

[[Image:ROSWannabet.jpg|left|180px|thumb|Let's hope that Dreadwing isn't revived by Unicron.]]
Starscream ordered Thundercracker and the drones to deal with them while he prepared for take off. After recovering, he made short work of the Autobots and dragged a damaged Thundercracker inside the ship, before activating the terminal and warping to Cybertron. He handed Thundercracker over to [[Ramjet (Movie)|Ramjet]], and ordered construction of a [[replica AllSpark]], based on Frenzy's data. Approaching Megatron's citadel, Starscream, still impressed by the power his new form gave him, destroyed the former leader's figurehead. {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 3|The Reign of Starscream #3}}

A [[Units of time|quartex]] later, Starscream ruminated about ruling over a Cybertron free of war or factions, as well as bringing certain [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|war criminals]] to justice. He arrived at the AllSpark construction yard, busted [[Crankcase (Movie)|Crankcase]]'s vocal processor for whining too much, and chained him up along with [[Elita-One (Movie)|four]] [[Warpath (Movie)|enslaved]] [[Signal Flare (Movie)|Autobot]] [[Grindcore (Movie)|prisoners]] on the new AllSpark, ready to offer up their lives in exchange for a new life for Cybertron. {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 4|The Reign of Starscream #4}}

[[Image:StarscreamandWreckageAlliance2.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Yes, it is!]]

Things sort of went downhill from there, though. First, the AllSpark replica didn't work; then [[Dreadwing (Movie)|Dreadwing]] rebelled. Then they saw that Arcee had snuck aboard Starscream's ship, led an Autobot attack on [[Simfur]] and destroyed the new AllSpark. In the ensuing chaos, Starscream, along with his few remaining loyal subjects, fought off the army of Dreadwing drones and assorted other traitors. Starscream tracked Dreadwing to the space bridge as he took a starship through it. By the time the ship arrived on [[Mars (planet)|Mars]], it was damaged by Starscream's attack, but Dreadwing survived. However, Starscream also survived, revealed himself, and ripped out Dreadwing's spark core. {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 5|The Reign of Starscream #5}}

After Dreadwing's betrayal, Starscream relocated to Earth, his aspirations for leadership and his faith in his fellow Decepticons shattered. As he brooded and carved AllSpark runes onto his exo-structure, he picked up a transmission from [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]], informing Starscream of Optimus Prime's forthcoming journey to a Sector Seven facility where Wreckage was held. {{storylink|Alliance issue 1|Alliance #1}} Starscream recorded a message chronicling Megatron's death, the destruction of the Cube and Wreckage's betrayal before he left Mars. Starscream arrived on Earth not long after Wreckage escaped. The two engaged in a heated battle, each accusing the other of betrayal. Wreckage managed to gain the upper hand, but the timely arrival of Bumblebee gave Starscream the chance to kill Wreckage. He thanked Bumblebee by blasting him, but was contacted by Soundwave before he could finish the job. Shocked that Soundwave was still alive, Starscream left with renewed vigor, believing Soundwave held the key to making a new army. Rendezvousing on Mars, Starscream informed Soundwave of Megatron's death and the AllSpark's loss, and was pleased when he was told a number of troops were headed for Earth, with more in stasis. After receiving co-ordinates to Soundwave's ship, a more enthusiastic Starscream left for the ''Nemesis'', aiming to bring the troops aboard out of stasis while Soundwave carried out "[[Star Harvester|other orders]]". {{storylink|Alliance issue 2|Alliance #2}}
Starscream was in [[Zambia]] where he gained control of the rebel [[Human Accessory Force]] by synthesizing [[gold]] coins with his own body. He sent [[Macerator]], [[Dropkick]] and [[Payload (Movie)|Payload]] to blow up a series of dams along the Zambezi River. Although the three Decepticons were stopped by [[NEST]], Starscream intercepted them and killed [[Beachbreak]], who was hoisting [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] up Victoria Falls. He then oversaw the Decepticons attack on a dam along the Zambezi, but the action saw the loss of Macerator and Payload. With their plan in ruins, Starscream ordered Dropkick to retreat.

Little did Starscream know that not all of the troops Soundwave had brought were so eager to serve him for merely succeeding to the Decepticon throne. A number of Decepticons were working in secret to amass vast quantities of energy to locate Megatron and jump start his spark. Upon discovering the existence of this faction, Optimus surmised that Starscream would be hard pressed to withstand a coup, and the only way to secure his claim would be to destroy Optimus and the Autobots quickly.

Starscream flew to [[Italy]] where he allied with criminal mastermind [[Bruno Carrera]], promising him rule of Europe once Starscream ruled Earth if he helped kill Optimus Prime. [[Swindle (Movie)|Swindle]] and [[Jolt (Movie)|Deadend]] drew NEST to Rome, where Starscream challenged Optimus to one-on-one combat in the Coliseum: it was a trap, and Optimus fell through a hidden door into a set of restraints in an underground tunnel built by Carrera. The humans helped Optimus escape though, and Starscream flew off to pay Carrera back for his failure. {{storylink|Transformers: The Veiled Threat|The Veiled Threat}}
With Megatron dead, Starscream found himself as one of [[The Fallen]]'s proxies and was not too happy with the idea of working for another guy ''again''. He organised <strike>his</strike> the Fallen's Decepticon army and took them to Cybertron on the Fallen's orders. Later, after the Decepticons had captured the lost [[Ransack (ROTF)|Ransack]], Starscream sat in on Soundwave's interrogation of the old fogey. However, Ransack refused to tell them, and Starscream had to step in to stop an angry Soundwave from killing the guy. He volunteered to interrogate the ancient Seeker himself, but Ransack found the whole thing laughable: he knew the Decepticons were operating their ''own'' agenda while the Fallen was incapacitated, but they'd soon learn their freedom was just an illusion.

A few seconds later, the twins arrived to bust the base up. Starscream and Soundwave soon put an end to ''that'', and Starscream gleefully prepared to exterminate Mudflap at long last... Whoops, that gave Ransack the chance to shoot Starscream in the back and leg it! Starscream was unconcerned with reviving his leader Megatron, choosing to spend his time as acting commander on the ''[[Nemesis (ROTF)|Nemesis]]'' engineering a new army. His plan was failing miserably, as without [[energon]] the [[hatchling]]s were dying. After [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] successfully executed his plan to resurrect Megatron, Starscream (who may or may not have known of said plan) attempted to welcome his commander with open arms, only to be criticized for leaving him for dead. Starscream defended his actions by saying [[The Fallen]] decreed the spawning of a new army, and that in Megatron's absence, someone had to take command. This was a bad choice of words on Starscream's part, as Megatron slammed him into a hatchling sack and told him the simple truth: even in death, there is no command greater than Megatron's.

Megatron noted the plight of the hatchlings though, and sought the advice of the Fallen, whom Starscream had kept on life support, on another source of energon now that the [[AllSpark]] was destroyed. The Fallen revealed there was another source, and that the key to attaining it was through the boy who had killed Megatron. But first, The Fallen commanded that they kill [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], the last of the [[Dynasty of Primes]], so that he would be safe. Since Optimus would come to protect Sam, it would be a simple matter to capture him. Starscream arrived and announced that they had [[Alice|an agent]] within sight of the boy. He was eager to get that energon, as the hatchlings would keep dying without it.

[[Image:ROTF Starscream Sam Mikaela.jpg|thumb|right|300px|Damn things are everywhere.]]
Starscream aided in [[Sam Witwicky]]'s capture by cutting open the car [[Grindor (ROTF)|Grindor]] had captured him in, and watched as Megatron and [[Scalpel (ROTF)|Scalpel]] threatened to dissect him for the information in his mind from the AllSpark regarding the energon source. Optimus and [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] arrived to rescue Sam: Starscream let Megatron do most of the fighting in the factory, before Optimus blasted him through the wall and drove off with Sam to a forest.

[[Image:ROTF Prime Starscream arm.jpg|thumb|left|300px|"MY ARM!"<br>"Oh, you want it back? HERE!"]]
Starscream arrived, immediately going for the boy, but Prime ran interference, grabbing Starscream, suplexing him, and kicking off part of his mouth, leading the three Decepticons to gang up on him. Surprisingly, it went quite poorly for the Decepticons: Prime was able to take on all three, using Starscream as a shield and sending his artillery flying at Grindor. After stabbing Megatron multiple times, Optimus ripped off Starscream's arm. Starscream could only cry out in horror as Optimus then used it as a club against the Decepticon. Although Optimus managed to kill Grindor, Megatron eventually managed to kill Optimus, but before they could retrieve Sam, the rest of the Autobots arrived while Bumblebee spirited Sam away. Megatron and Starscream were forced to retreat.

[[Image:ROTF_movie_MegatronStarscream_roofchat.jpg|thumb|right|300px|25 years later and I'm still your punching bag!]]

Starscream and Megatron flew to the top of a [[New York City]] skyscraper, where Starscream revealed that they had lost track of the boy. Megatron berated Starscream and hit him with the detached arm he was trying to stick in, furious that he lost track of a single insect. Starscream countered that there were seven billion insects on the planet, and that he could be anywhere at this point. Megatron decided to reveal the Decepticons' presence to the world: Starscream stood openly atop a skyscraper during the rejuvenated Fallen's announcement to the world.

After Soundwave learned that the boy was in [[Egypt]], Starscream flew to investigate. Locating the boy, he fired upon Bumblebee, [[Skids (ROTF)|Skids]] and [[Mudflap (ROTF)|Mudflap]], who had Sam, [[Mikaela Banes]], [[Leo Spitz]] and [[Seymour Simmons]] as their passengers, bombing them to no avail. Bumblebee, Simmons, Leo, and the Twins drew Starscream's fire while Sam and Mikaela fled to the NEST soldiers. During his flyby of the NEST team, he released an electromagnetic pulse that took out the humans' communications, but saw Prime's body. Meeting Megatron atop the pyramid which hid the harvester, Starscream informed Megatron of his discovery, and Megatron ordered the [[Operation: Firestorm|assault]] to begin.
[[Image:ROTF Starscream grab.jpg|thumb|left|300px|Ceiling Seeker is watching you masturbate. And he will no longer tolerate it.]]
As Sam and Mikaela tried to reach Optimus to revive him with the [[Matrix of Leadership]], Starscream led several [[Constructicon (ROTF)|Constructicons]] and [[Protoform]]s in a search for Sam. It wasn't going very well, to the point that Starscream started shooting the ground in anger. An [[Insecticon (Movie)|Insecticon]] managed to find them, and Starscream tore the roof off the building they were in and fired at them as they jumped off another building, but the two humans managed to lose them again. Starscream then took to the sky to locate them, and ordered [[Rampage (ROTF)|Rampage]] to hold Sam's parents [[Ron Witwicky|Ron]] and [[Judy Witwicky|Judy]] for ransom: Sam was ready to exchange the Matrix, but Bumblebee rescued them and killed Rampage. Starscream was unable to search for Sam any longer and was soon drawn into the battle with [[NEST]], joining his comrades in firing on them.
[[Image:ROTF Starscream cowards survive.jpg|thumb|right|300px|"Not to call you a coward-Oh heck, you are a coward!"]]
Starscream avoided the carpet bombing which killed many other Decepticons, and watched from afar as Optimus was resurrected by the Matrix. Although the Fallen obtained the Matrix and activated his star harvester, the last of the Primes combined with [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]], killed the Fallen and destroyed the harvester. Starscream went to the wounded Megatron, who had lost his right arm and had half his face blown off thanks to Optimus Prime. Starscream advised his master that they should flee (cowards do survive after all), something that Megatron acknowledged, but asserted it wasn't over. {{storylink|Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (film)|Revenge of the Fallen (film)}}
Starscream watched from the air as [[Mindwipe (ROTF)|Mindwipe]] interrogated [[Jack (ROTF)|Jack]]. As the other Decepticon announced the Energon would be his, Starscream corrected his obviously erroneous statement. When they found the convoy, Starscream dropped mines on the road in front of [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] and [[Sideswipe (Movie)|Sideswipe]], knocking loose the trailer-load of energon. While Mindwipe turned his hypnotic abilities on the two Autobots, Starscream landed behind them. The two Decepticons' bickering allowed Sideswipe to break Mindwipe's concentration, and he began grappling with Starscream while Ratchet went for the energon. Starscream quickly got the better of Sideswipe and threatened to rip his spark out, but Ratchet responded by throwing the energon and Mindwipe off a nearby cliff. Starscream dived after it, ignoring Mindwipe's pleas for help, and grabbed the energon. Ratchet shot the energon which exploded, but Starscream subsequently streaked from the flames in his jet mode, and the two Autobots decided to find somewhere safe to take cover. {{storylink|Cyber Missions 10}}
Starscream met up with Megatron in the Arctic sometime later, but it was far from a pleasant reunion - Megatron was pissed that Starscream openly defied him, and once again reminded him of his absolute power. Optimus arrived, and a two on one duel ensued. Soon, the Autobots arrived, and Starscream broke off to leave the duel to be leader-to-leader. Starscream took on Ratchet, Ironhide, Bumblebee, and Sideswipe all at once, and eventually was defeated. Starscream quickly fled the scene. {{storylink|Cyber Missions 12}}
Later, Megatron led Starscream, Barricade, Mindwipe, and Bludgeon to rescue the imprisoned Soundwave from the Autobots. However, Soundwave was only a hologram, and Optimus confronted the Decepticons. Megatron once again dueled Optimus, and Starscream told the others to wait until Megatron wore the Autobot leader down, then attack Optimus... only for Ratchet, Ironhide, and Bumblebee to arrive. In the ensuing battle, Starscream tried to flee, but was fired at by Ironhide, and Starscream retaliated by tackling and grappling with Ironhide on the ground. The Autobots' human allies arrived, and outnumbered the Decepticons a hundred to one, and Megatron was once again defeated by Optimus. The Autobot leader gave the Decepticons a choice: leave Earth or fight and die. Starscream wanted to create his ''own'' Decepticon army and assumed there had to be some Energon sources and artifacts still on Earth to enable this: after all, why else would the Autobots stay? He noted the brilliance in Megatron's scheme, and asked if Sentinel was now his partner, and Megatron retorted that Sentinel was his greatest triumph, and explained that they had intended to meet up on Earth, but both were waylaid by fate. Later, the Autobots were forced by the humans into exile by Sentinel's demand, and their ship, the ''[[Xantium (DOTM)|Xantium]]'', departed Earth with them inside. Starscream began losing it, screaming in panic and pain as he tried scraping it out of his eye on the ground, cursing the human scum. Lennox attempted to free Sam from the grappling wire, but the panicked Starscream flew up to the top of a nearby building, taking them both with him. As he swore to kill the humans, the boomstick went off, fatally blowing off a large chunk of Starscream's head and causing his chest to explode, leaving his lifeless body to fall to the ground, breaking off several pieces while doing so. Lennox and Sam were saved from the fall by [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] and Sam nervously assured everyone Starscream was dead.
Starscream coordinated the missions for Blackout and Barricade while hiding in a military base. After receiving information from Barricade that Megatron had been located, Starscream ordered him to proceed to Hoover Dam, while he himself went to locate [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]]. However, the humans were aware of the three Decepticons and used drones, weapon platforms, and fighters based on Cybertronian design. Starscream was forced to move back and forth between Bonecrusher and Brawl, rescuing them from human attackers, all to background music far too heroic for someone of Starscream's character. After taking a moment to enjoy the ruin he had made of the base, Starscream proceeded to Hoover Dam. Blackout informed him that the structure was blocking their scans, so Starscream ordered him to tear it down piece by piece to find Megatron and the AllSpark. When Megatron emerged, Starscream bowed before his [[Lord High Protector|Lord]].

At [[Mission City]], Starscream took a moment to [[Ramjet (G1)|ram]] Optimus Prime during the latter's duel with Megatron, and tried to go head to head with Optimus Prime but was knocked away. After Megatron absorbed the AllSpark and Earth was decimated, Starscream stood at his master's left side as the Decepticon leader declared their business on Earth was concluded.
===Transformers: Decepticons (DS)===
:''Voice actor'': [[Daniel Ross]]

After the disappearance of Megatron nearly a million years ago (yeah, we know), Starscream took over the Decepticons as their high commander. Arriving on Earth, he instructed [[Create-A-Bot (Decepticon)|Create-A-Bot]] to follow Barricade until he arrived. However, none of the other Decepticons would trust him, and he confided in Create-A-Bot a great number of secrets, including the location of the AllSpark and the identity of the lost Decepticon they were retrieving: [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]]. Starscream reasoned that he hid these things because revealing them would lead to a power struggle, but no one bought it except the naive rookie.

Soon, though, the other Decepticons revealed the reason for their lack of faith (which Create-A-Bot found disturbing): Starscream was a morally ambiguous backstabber. Of course, Megatron wasn't much better, since he was a treacherous, black-hearted face-stabber, but at least he let you know where you stood with him. Once the Autobots returned the AllSpark to Tranquility, he gave chase after a now-AllSpark-empowered Bumblebee (in the single most frustrating level of the game), caught the "babbling fool", and destroyed a meddlesome Blackout, until Barricade got in the way.

After threat of execution for treason, Starscream proceeded to show the smaller Decepticon WHY Megatron picked him as his second-in-command: his brute strength and incredible battle strategy. After a severe thrashing, Create-A-Bot arrived with intent to kill. However, Starscream now had the AllSpark and was nearly unstoppable. They proceeded to battle over the Casino Strip, where Create-A-Bot took the AllSpark from him and smashed it into his chest. Create-A-Bot was knocked back and severely damaged by the blast, but Starscream remained as powerful as ever, perhaps more so now that the AllSpark had merged with his body. However, as was quickly proven, [[Starscream (G1)|Starscreams]] who receive [[Starscream (Armada)|ungodly power]] tend to explode, as Megatron found him and proceeded to chase and tear him apart. In his last breath, Starscream spat on Megatron's name, saying there would always be those who would question his power. Megatron simply replied by smashing his face in. {{storylink|Transformers Autobots/Decepticons|Transformers: Decepticons}}
Starscream served as the main aerial assault unit, utilizing his rapid-fire Gatling gun and his homing missiles. He could also activate a [[Null Reactor]], which slowed enemies down and increased the damage he dealt to them.

After the Decepticons lost possession of Mikaela, Starscream decided to seek out [[Theodore Galloway|NSA chief Galloway]], and force the location of the other remaining AllSpark shard, and Megatron's location, from him. The fleshing was known to be visiting one of several buildings around the canals of Sam and Mikaela's hometown, and Starscream destroyed each in turn, looking to flush out his target. Galloway was soon located, and Starscream took him for extraction.

The information gained from Galloway lead to the Decepticons capturing an AllSpark shard, and armed with this artifact, a team was sent to revive Megatron. Whilst other Decepticons descended into the sea to attend to their leader, Starscream and several Constructicons attacked the carrier group on the ocean surface. Seeking to eliminate their defense, Starscream destroyed the AA guns mounted on the larger craft, and then sank the small control boats in the area. Before long, Megatron rose from the ocean, and the Decepticons left the area.
When Sam and Bumblebee travelled to an east coast museum to meet with Jetfire, Starscream was ordered by Megatron to destroy the building and retrieve the boy. After Megatron defeated their master [[The Fallen]], who was monitoring the progress of the [[Star Harvester]], Starscream immediately reported to Megatron that Optimus had deactivated the machine. Megatron took this reply well, and went off to activate The Fallen's hidden army of protoforms. {{storylink|Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)|Revenge of the Fallen}}
Starscream passed on [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]]'s orders a lot, and occasionally deigned to assist his fellow Decepticons by carpet-bombing the Autobots. He was assigned to attack a [[NEST]] base, and ordered [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] to create a diversion, only for Soundwave to question if the orders actually came from Megatron or not. Starscream then went to find [[Crowbar]], and ordered him to create a second diversion, only for Crowbar to tell him he needed to mellow out. Following that, Starscream ordered [[Lockdown (ROTF)|Lockdown]] to infiltrate the NEST facility and steal any data he could. Lockdown succeeded but was frustratingly slack in sending the data to Starscream. The data revealed that the Autobots had taken over a [[Sector Seven|Sector 7]] base in the [[Pacific]], so Starscream dispatched Lockdown and Crowbar to investigate. Next, he sent Lockdown and Soundwave into a NEST base to, respectively, destroy the communications arrays and steal Mechtech data. Soundwave was less than appreciative of Starscream blabbing loudly over the comms channel. After the Decepticons' [[Siberia]]n base was overrun by Autobots, Starscream contacted Megatron, promising that if the Decepticon leader didn't survive, Starscream would dedicate his reign as leader to honoring him. Perhaps to Starscream's disappointment, Megatron made it out alive with [[Shockwave (Movie)|Shockwave]]. {{storylink|Transformers: Dark of the Moon: Autobots/Decepticons|Dark of the Moon: Autobots/Decepticons}}
He chose to "drop in" again when NEST helicopters arrived to provide air support for Evac and Optimus. After destroying one and moving in on Evac he was shot in the back by more Nest choppers and retreated in frustration. [[Image:ProtoformStarscreamProto.jpg|thumb|250px|Rar.]]
* Starscream's film design was initially conceptualized by designer [[Feng Zhu]].<ref>http://www.fengzhudesign.com/portfolio.html</ref>
* The card back of Protoform Starscream's packaging features a completely different, earlier head sculpt. What's more, this head design is featured on his protoform body in IDW's movie prequel comics. It's since become Starscream's standard "pre-Earth" face, likely out of consistency.
* His protoform was not the only design to get a new head. The earliest concepts of Starscream's head were more skull-like and oblong in shape. This was, of course, redesigned to look more "like a samurai helmet." Unlike the redesigned head of Megatron, Starscream's earlier face only shows up in ''one'' piece of media: the book [[Look and Find Transformers]].
* Starscream's final head design was one that was rejected for Megatron.<ref>''Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'' Blu-ray gallery</ref>
* It has been suggested that, following his attack on the F-22 squadron over the city, Starscream was able to hide among the survivors and take part in the attack on Megatron shortly thereafter. This theory is speculative; While it fits the character of the Generation 1 Starscream, there is nothing on the screen to suggest it. (Roberto Orci was asked, but refused to give a definite answer.)<ref>http://boards.transformersmovie.com/showpost.php?p=387172&postcount=185 Roberto Orci refusing to comment on the possibility of Starscream attacking Megatron during the final battle</ref>
* Starscream's bio for his Deep Space figure mentions that he re-energized himself at a power plant after the [[Mission City]] battle. Whilst this was not seen in the film, it appears [[The Real Effing Deal|others]] caught notice of it; [http://www.therealeffingdeal.com/blog/“mission-city-update-exclusive”/].
* The Sector Seven online ARG used the "[[The Transformers: Masterpiece| Masterpiece]]" version of [[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]] [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] to represent the "real" Starscream who had infiltrated Earth. A lot of Generation 1 cameos were made in this manner. Make of that what you will.
* The downloadable content for the ''Revenge of the Fallen'' game on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 gives Starscream [[Starscream (G1)|another form]] and a [[Sunstorm (G1)|repaint of it]]. Because of this, Starscream ends up with the most alternate skins of any character.
* Hasbro mentions that his arch-enemy is Megatron. [[Starscream (G1)|Like]] [[Starscream (Armada)|that's]] [[Starscream (Animated)|surprising]].
* His rivalry with Megatron was only shown in IDW comics and other related media, but was never shown in the three films, with the only hint for his desire of leadership was pathetic excuses for leaving him behind dead on Earth in ''Revenge of the Fallen'', along with obviously sarcastic comments and sinister hand rolling in ''Dark of the Moon''.
Prior to the war, Trypticon Station was used for research that could not be conducted planetside, including the first forays into sequestering the [[Dark Energon]] that had resulted from [[Unicron]]'s attack on the planet. Its security was seen to by the Seeker caste. There are records that indicate that at the time Dark Energon was placed aboard by an ancient High Council the station underwent a major overhaul: [[Alpha Trion (Prime)|Alpha Trion]] confirmed that it was given a spark and made a living being at that point. [[Air Commander]] [[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]] was one of the few with knowledge of its secrets. As a result, he ordered his forces to occupy it after the capture of [[Sentinel Zeta Prime|Sentinel Prime]], as a bargaining chip in negotiations with Megatron and his growing Decepticon army. Megatron decided he tired of negotiations and took Trypticon Station by force. Upon Starscream's return to the station, Megatron pressed the Seeker and ultimately gained access to the facility's research on Dark Energon. Megatron noted to [[Shockwave (WFC)|Shockwave]] that there was potential for a spark within Trypticon, though Shockwave pointed out the [[Well of All Sparks|Well]] no longer produced sparks. Megatron suggested he use the sparks of the scientists killed and maimed in the seize of Trypticon to give life to the station.

The supplies of Dark Energon from the initial harvest were slender, so Megatron required the means to transfer large quantities of [[energon]] to the station so that they could be converted into the rarer resource. As Trypticon Station was configured to receive fuel from the [[Geosynchronous Energon Bridge]] in [[Crystal City]], the Decepticons were able to transfer an initial supply, but not nearly enough for the ravenous rate at which they were consuming Dark Energon. This was eventually remedied by Megatron's capture of the [[Plasma Energy Chamber]], which provided a nearly unlimited source of fuel directly from Cybertron's core.

After a team led by [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]] ventured into the planet's core to cut off the transfer, Megatron decided to switch tactics. He allowed Shockwave to apply the experimental knowledge he had gleaned over the course of the war, and Trypticon was granted true life, including the ability to shape its corridors into a dizzying array of defense drones and [[Mini-Con|Minicon]]s. Ultimately, a team of Autobots aboard the ''[[Eight Track (WFC)|Eight Track]]'' found a gap in the station's external defenses and managed to venture within and knock the behemoth from orbit.

Victory was brief, however, as Trypticon revealed a robot form and crawled from the wreckage planetside. Though initially the [[Wrecker]]s and [[Omega Supreme (WFC)|Omega Supreme]] were tasked with keeping the gargantuan Decepticon away from the ''[[Ark (WFC)|Ark]]'' launch, this proved to be in vain, as Megatron boarded Trypticon along with a hand-picked crew of the Decepticon elite. Transforming into a ''Nemesis''-class battleship, Trypticon pursued the ''Ark'' to, and subsequently through, the last remaining functional [[space bridge]] in Cybertronian orbit. As the ''Ark'' emerged in unknown space, the ''Nemesis'' was nowhere within sensor range. {{storylink|Transformers: Exodus|Exodus}}

The ''Nemesis'' was heavily damaged due to its traveling through the last remaining, yet faulty, space bridge, and thus Trypticon's sentient functionality and transformation abilities were lost, perhaps forever. Megatron didn't care too much. The ''Nemesis'' was still a functioning, fearsome battleship, and that's all he required. {{storylink|Transformers: Exiles|Exiles}}

The ''Nemesis'' served as the Decepticons' primary base of operations during their time on [[Earth]]. Constantly moving through the skies of the planet and cloaked against detection by either Autobot or human systems, it provided the villains with a mobile headquarters that allowed them to often remain one step ahead of their adversaries.

[[Cliffjumper (Prime)|Cliffjumper]] got a taste of the power of the ''Nemesis'' first-hand when he found it hovering over an [[Energon]]-filled crater, and it opened fire on him. Captured by [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicons]] and brought aboard, Cliffjumper was slain on the ship's bridge by its current commanding officer [[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]], his body unable to be reclaimed by his fellow Autobots due to the ship's perpetual cloaking field hiding its location. {{storylink|Darkness Rising, Part 1}} Soon after, Starscream relinquished command of the ''Nemesis'' to Megatron when he returned from his three-year sojourn in deep space, {{storylink|Darkness Rising, Part 2}} but when he left to explore the properties of Dark Energon, control of the craft returned to Starscream, who had the Autobots' human ally [[William Fowler]] captured and brought to the ship's brig for interrogation. The Autobots subsequently invaded the ship on a rescue mission, during which [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] damaged the ship's interstellar navigation array, {{storylink|Darkness Rising, Part 3}} leaving it unable to triangulate co-ordinates for the Decepticons' new orbital space bridge. [[Image:Masters&Students-Nemesisbridgescreen.jpg|left|thumb|300px|The ''Nemesis'' bridge must be great for watching the Super Bowl.]] Using a human installation as a substitute, the Decepticons moved the ''Nemesis'' into space so Megatron could send Dark Energon through the bridge to Cybertron, but when the Autobots sabotaged the bridge and caused it to explode, Starscream betrayed Megatron, moving the ''Nemesis'' out of range and leaving the Decepticon leader to be consumed in the blast. {{storylink|Darkness Rising, Part 5}}

<!--[[Image:DarknessRising3-Nemesis.jpg|left|thumb|300px|It's quite large.]]-->
Although Starscream was re-instated as commander of the ''Nemesis'' with Megatron's seeming death, the crew responded unenthusiastically to his dramatic first address. Soon after, when it was discovered that Megatron had actually survived the explosion thanks to Dark Energon, his stasis-locked body became a fixture of the ship's medical bay. {{storylink|Masters & Students}} The ship later gained another new resident in the Autobot [[Wheeljack (Prime)|Wheeljack]], who was captured and locked up in the brig while the evil [[Makeshift (Prime)|Makeshift]] took his place among the Autobots before escaping. {{storylink|Con Job}}
When the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s electromagnetic shielding broke while orbiting above [[China]], the Autobots were able to locate the ship and infiltrate it in hopes of locating a cure for the [[Cybonic plague]] Optimus Prime had recently become infected with. Although successful, their actions set in motion the reawakening of Megatron, {{storylink|Sick Mind}} who returned to life and retook command in the middle of Starscream's newest plan, which involved equipping the ''Nemesis'' with a powerful heat ray. {{Storylink|Out of His Head}} With Megatron back in charge, the ''Nemesis'' continued its stoic, continuous motion around the Earth, at one point moving out of Earth's atmosphere and into orbit. {{storylink|T.M.I.}}

As the Decepticons began looking for components for their new space bridge, the ''Nemesis'' returned to Earth's atmosphere and headed for a human military installation so Megatron could personally steal the new power source it contained. Optimus Prime and Bulkhead made it aboard the ''Nemesis'' and stole the power source back, but Optimus proceeded to go on a rampage through the ship's corridors until Megatron had him [[GroundBridge]]d out. {{storylink|One Shall Fall}} Megatron subsequently left the ''Nemesis'' under [[Airachnid]]'s command while he prostrated himself before [[Unicron]], {{storylink|One Shall Rise, Part 1}} who took the ship back to orbit. {{storylink|One Shall Rise, Part 2}} When Airachnid attempted to incite rebellion among the crew, [[Soundwave (Prime)|Soundwave]] smacked her down and took charge of the ''Nemesis'' until Megatron returned with an amnesiac Optimus Prime. {{storylink|One Shall Rise, Part 3}}

Though the Decepticons tried their best to keep "Orion Pax" in the dark, they had a security lapse when Arcee managed to get on board to hunt for the lost Autobot leader. Soundwave was able to get her back off the ship through deft use of the GroundBridge. It happened again sometime later when Starscream sneaked on board to steal [[energon cube]]s and stumbled on Orion. {{storylink|Orion Pax, Part 1}}

Starscream fled the ship, but his visit raised Orion's suspicions and he accessed the Decepticon database to find out the truth. {{storylink|Orion Pax, Part 2}} The Decepticons had a full log of his activities and he was left under Vehicon guard to continue his work, but soon broke free and left the ship to help the Autobots. {{storylink|Orion Pax, Part 3}}

Bulkhead later wound up on the ''Nemesis'' and destroyed the power core. This caused the entire ship to crash and Bulkhead to escape in vehicle mode. {{storylink|Armada (episode)}}
After Optimus Prime learned of the coming corruption of the [[Core]], he ordered an evacuation of all Autobots. When Megatron started using his space station to blow up the ships, Optimus Prime sent Jetfire, Air Raid, and Silverbolt to destroy the station. Flooding it with coolant while under heavy fire, the jets were about to blow it up...until they discovered that the station itself was alive. At this point, the Trypticon orbital weapon gun began first targeting locations on Cybertron such as [[Sentinel Zeta Prime|Zeta Prime]]'s [[Vaults]], the [[Hall of Ancients]], the [[Stellar Galleries]] and the [[Code Archives]] before finally acquiring the coordinates for Optimus Prime. The fliers hoped that they could prevent Iacon's destruction by destroying Trypticon's [[Transformation cog|conversion cog]], reverting him to his robot mode.

Unfortunately for the aerial Autobots, his robot mode was a gigantic, metal dinosaur. Jetfire destroyed his jetpack, and Trypticon plummeted to the planet below. Optimus, Ironhide, and Bumblebee went to investigate the crash and battled the titan, destroying his shoulder-mounted weapons systems by overloading them with energon batteries. The Autobots proceeded to shoot his exposed heat vents and to destroy a set of three power cores along his shoulders and back. Defeated, Trypticon made a last-ditch effort to attack, but lost his balance and fell into an energon lake below when Optimus Prime hit him with his axe. {{storylink|Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)|War for Cybertron}}
After his weapons were restored, Trypticon made a stand for the Decepticons and started destroying Autobots. Optimus, convincing the Autobots to keep the fight going, made a stand with Bumblebee and Ironhide. The bad news was that Trypticon's only weak spot was in his mouth, but the good news was the Autobots didn't give up.

After half of his health depleted, Trypticon made one more stand, and used his true power. Even though the blasts were powerful, Optimus and the Autobots fired one huge blast, making the monster fall to his demise. {{storylink|Transformers: Cybertron Adventures|Cybertron Adventures}}
Megatron conquered Trypticon Space Station to manufacture Dark Energon to aid in his planet-wide conquest. However, Megatron found he needed to access the Core of Cybertron to continue to power their Dark Energon supply. Upon defeating Autobot leader Zeta Prime, and later Omega Supreme, Megatron succeeded in his quest.

However, not too long afterwards, newly ascended Autobot leader Optimus Prime freed the Core from the Dark Energon, and ordered a planet-wide evacuation of the population from Cybertron. Megatron began using Trypticon Space Station to fire upon the evacuating Autobot masses, prompting a strike from Optimus' team. The Autobots were able to make Trypticon Space Station crash to Cybertron... only for it to transform into a city-sized Decepticon dinosaur. Luckily, Optimus and his men finally defeated the titan, and ended the threat of Dark Energon for good. {{Storylink|Transformers: War for Cybertron (DS)|War for Cybertron}}
==Notes==
* Trypticon has two seemingly conflicting origins in ''Exodus''. [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Orion Pax]] researches the station and discovers that in "ancient times" it was secretly "recreated" from a simple space station and was raised to sentience, given a living [[spark]] (pg. 82) when [[Dark Energon]] was hidden aboard by an "ancient" iteration of the [[Autobot High Council|High Council]] headed by Sentinel Prime. Alpha Trion confirms this to be true. Beforehand, however [[Megatron (Prime)|Megatron]] refers to the station as being "semi-sentient" and afterwards as a sparkless drone before Shockwave makes it into a Transformer with ''many'' sparks.
*When asked whether Trypticon was alive after that first sparking or not until Shockwave, Alex Irvine passed on commenting on the grounds that to do so would give something important away...
* In the end credits for ''[[Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)|War for Cybertron]]'', Trypticon is briefly seen grappling with [[Omega Supreme (WFC)|Omega Supreme]]. Now if we had only seen ''that'' in gameplay.
'''''Transformers: War for Cybertron — Autobots''''' and '''''Transformers: War for Cybertron — Decepticons''''' are two video games developed by [[Vicarious Visions]] for the Nintendo DS, and published by [[Activision Blizzard|Activision]]. Like their [[Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)|big brother]] for the PC and consoles, they are third-person shooters set in the early days of the Great War. Chronologically, the Decepticon campaign is set before the Autobot one.

==Gameplay==
[[Image:WFCDS character selection.jpg|right|thumb|256px|He ain't heavy, he's my br—oh, wait]]
Like the console version, the central focus of the two DS versions is a linear campaign of missions, following basically the same story. Additionally, there is an Arena mode with five "arenas", each with six missions available, four bonus levels from the opposing game, and seven multiplayer levels.

Before each mission, you pick two Transformers from your available troops. During the mission, you switch between the two chosen characters using the A button. If a character is knocked out, they can be revived by defeating a certain number of enemies with the remaining character. New characters can be unlocked by completing campaign and arena missions, locating "data disks" which appear as floating golden discs, or using unlock codes. There are thirteen unlockable characters in total, including exclusive characters such as [[Motormaster (WFC)|Motormaster]], [[Cyclonus (WFC)|Cyclonus]], [[Grimlock (WFC)|Grimlock]] and [[Cliffjumper (Prime)|Cliffjumper]]. Other data disks can be selected at the start of a mission to boost character stats.

Characters are classed as "Heavy", "Light" or "Air". While "Air" has the obvious advantage of flight, missions contain areas which only certain classes can go: marked walls can be bashed down by heavy vehicles, and there are small spaces where only light vehicles can go. There are also three weapon types: "plasma" represented by a red circle, "laser" represented by a yellow triangle, and "solid" represented by a blue square. Each character has a ranged weapon (typically plasma or laser) and a melee weapon (typically solid). Enemies are particularly vulnerable to a certain type of damage, which is visible as the symbol representing that damage type above the enemy's head. Advanced enemies can change which damage type they're vulnerable to.

While the foes have health bars that appear over their heads, the player has three bars on their HUD — a health bar, an energy bar, which represents energy they can use to fire, and a boost bar which appears while in vehicle mode, which they can use to boost their speed. All three bars will regenerate in time, though for "Air" characters, the energy bar will not regenerate while they're in vehicle mode.

[[Image:WFCDS stat leveling.jpg|right|thumb|256px|MEGATRON learned GROUND POUND!]]
The game also incorporates a leveling system. Characters begin at level 1 and gain experience by killing enemies and finding [[energon cube]]s. Each level gives the character a stat point which can them be spent on one of three stats
to increase the character's power. Some stats, when upgraded to a certain level, bestow on the character extra powers, such as new attacks, more powerful weapons, and sundry other abilities. The maximum level possible is 20, giving 19 stat points.

Multiplayer is achieved by using the DS Wi-Fi. Available game types for multiplayer are Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, and Energon Dash. Additionally, you can play "Ante Games", in which each player bets one of their characters on the outcome. The winner gains the loser's ante character, but the loser can unlock their character again by playing a "rescue" mission, assaulting a prison to free the lost character. Data disks which are exclusive to certain levels available only in the opposite version can be obtained only by playing in multiplayer.

===Decepticon campaign===
'''Mission 1: The Plot Forms'''<br />
[[Ironhide (Prime)|Ironhide]] and [[Ratchet (Prime)|Ratchet]] have discovered that [[Megatron (Prime)|Megatron]] seems to be searching for something at a training facility, so Ironhide sends an Autobot recruit there to investigate. Once he arrives, [[Air Raid (WFC)|Air Raid]] gives him some basic training. Training is interrupted with the news that the Decepticons have taken the control room, and Air Raid goes to help. The recruit is sent to get some data links back online, which he does, facing some [[laser guard]]s into the bargain. Unfortunately this is followed by Megatron bursting through a wall and blasting him. Megatron is contacted by [[Soundwave (Prime)|Soundwave]], who's hacked into the Autobot mainframe, but needs a diversion to give him time to decrypt the data. Megatron rendezvous with a Decepticon dropship, which drops off [[Dirge (WFC)|Dirge]] and another Decepticon. The trio move into the facility, destroying as much as they can. The third Decepticon is attacked and destroyed by a [[swarm (WFC)|swarm]], and a short time later Megatron is taken out by a laser guard, but with [[Brawl (WFC)|Brawl]]'s help, the Decepticon leader is back on his feet in no time. Finally Soundwave reports he's completed his mission, and Megatron's team heads for the extraction point in vehicle mode. They haven't gone far when they run into [[Jetfire (WFC)|Jetfire]], who blasts Dirge out of the room and battles Megatron. One short fight later, and Megatron receives a report from Soundwave that he's found the location of the [[Trypticon (WFC)|Trypticon Space Station]]. Megatron orders his ship readied.

'''Mission 2: Reviving the [[Dark Energon]] Project'''<br />
*''Unlockable characters: Starscream and Skywarp''<br />
[[Image:WFCDS Megatron Trypticon debris field.jpg|thumb|right|200px|I have to jump over all these? Man, universal domination is hard work.]]
Megatron takes his ship to the space station, but the inhabitants take up defensive positions, and [[Barricade (Prime)|Barricade]] reports the shields are down to 15%. Megatron's prepared to ram the ship into the station, but the debris field prevents them getting any close. A team of Decepticons is dropped off and jumps between chunks of debris until they reach the station itself. [[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]] meets them at the door, announcing he's not going to allow them to reactivate the base and, activating the emergency defense systems, runs inside. The Decepticon team fight their way inside and forcibly shut down the defenses, then reroute the power flow to feed back into the core. This done, they head for the lab to restart the [[Dark Energon]] project, however standing in their way is Starscream. Though the air commander fights well, he's defeated and begs fer mercy. Megatron allows him to join the Decepticon cause, and Starscream opens the lab, reactivating the Dark Energon project. Soundwave suggests they test the Dark Energon somewhere safe, so Megatron opts to do so at back at Kaon.

'''Mission 3: Testing the Experiment'''<br />
*''Unlockable character: Thundercracker''<br />
There's the chance that the Dark Energon use will result in fatality, so Barricade has set up Kaon Prison as an assault course, and several of the Decepticons are imbued with the substance. In addition to the swarm infesting the facility, some of the Autobot prisoners have been deployed to add extra combat. The Decepticons make their way down a treacherous winding catwalk in a tower and through ventilation ducts, before testing their navigation skills on an underground area mined with depth charges. Eventually they reach stage 2 of the test, and must fight their way through corridors to the combat arena. Though the opponents gets steadily harder, the Decepticon team reaches the arena, where Barricade reveals the final test — one-on-one combat against Ironhide. They manage to defeat the Autobot, however the test have depleted almost all of Trypticon's reserves of Dark Energon. Megatron orders Starscream to find a way to make more while he goes and sits in his war room. Soundwave prepares to infuse a reluctant Barricade with Dark Energon.
[[Image:WFCDS Megatron canals.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Cybertron sure has a lot of [[water]].]]
Starscream's deciphering of some ancient data files reveals the existence of a geosynchronous space bridge hidden in Cybertron's core, used by the Ancients to channel power to the Trypticon station. Starscream sets up a computer station to monitor the progress of the Decepticon as they head into a hostile area of Cybertron to locate the access gate. They reach what appear to be canals with no direct path through, but they manage to make their way across despite the swarms and deadly wall turrets which attack them. Beyond they find a fork — they have a choice between a path tricky to navigate versus a path with a lot more enemies to fight. They pick a path and eventually find themselves two sectors from the gate to the core of Cybertron. The next two doors fall in short time, and they reach the control room, allowing them to open the access gate to the core and step inside. Soundwave warns the team that their presence has reactivated long-dormant defense systems. Starscream believes he can find a way inside.

'''Mission 5: Activating the Uplink'''<br />
The Decepticons have reached the geosynchronous energon bridge causeway. Soundwave reports that Trypticon's power cells are exhausted and the supplies of Dark Energon are at 20%. Starscream has worked out a path that bypasses most of the threat. The Decepticon assault team heads along a corridor and takes a short cut through a room filled with superheated gases which they must rush through in vehicle mode to avoid damage. Following huge pipes, they fight some more turrets, and past a room crackling with energy, they breach a series of force fields with conspicuously-placed controls. They eventually reach a control room from where they successfully reroute the power into the energon bridge. They head for the bridge itself to manually connect it to Trypticon station, however their imminent victory is interrupted by [[Silverbolt (WFC)|Silverbolt]], who sets up energon suppressors and sics some Autobots on the Decepticon team. The Decepticons make short work of the protectors and destroy the suppressors, however the interference means they have to reroute the power using the back-up link. In the control room for the back-up link, they encounter Silverbolt himself and trounce the Autobot before achieving their goal. To the Decepticons' collective surprise, the new link only repowers Trypticon to 37%—the Autobots have severed the link to Cybertron's core using [[Omega Key]] encrypted locks. Megatron orders Soundwave to assemble a strike force to find said key.
[[Laserbeak (Prime)|Lazerbeak]] intercepts a transmission in which [[Sentinel Zeta Prime|Zeta Prime]] tells Optimus to protect the library while he secures the key. Megatron orders a strike team to [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]] to retrieve the key. The Decepticon team breaks through a force field on the outskirts of Iacon and blasts their way through the initial resistance, before passing a huge lake of Energon. Beyond, they find ruins protected by turrets and a few hapless Autobots. After blasting through the ruins, they pass through an old beaming facility and into another building where they find and dispose of an Autobot ambush. They locate the pylon which regulates Iacon's power and re-energize it, allowing them passage through a room in which the power is channeled. After meeting some more Autobot resistance with lethal force, they reach the main part of the repository. Starscream tactlessly points out that the information they've gathered is encrypted, and on their way in, they've just wiped out the Autobots who could decrypt it. Megatron tells him to shut his mouth.
*''Unlockable character: Dirge''<br />
Starscream breaks the encryption and finds the Omega Key is being held in the heart of Iacon, but is skeptical that Megatron will succeed in getting hold of it. Heading out of the building, they cross a broken bridge and blast their way in to the next tower. A door proves particularly troublesome when unlocking it unleashes a mess of swarms and depth charges, but they manage to shoot their way through and breach Iacon's perimeter defenses and start heading for the Iacon Library. Down a corridor heavily infested with and turrets, they take out another Autobot, and reach the [[Stellar Galleries]]. The galleries are lightly defended, but outside they encounter more Autobots at the entrance to the library. Without stopping to admire the library's grand architecture, they hunt for Zeta Prime. A bit of shooting later and they find a vaulted area with a heavy security field and the Omega Key behind a force field. Though they deactivate the force field, the door closes before they can take the key, and Zeta Prime reveals himself! Safe behind his force field, Prime shoots at the Decepticons, but they're able to deactivate the force field and blast him. Zeta Prime refuses to turn over the key, so Megatron slags him, takes the key, and uses it. Zeta then informs him that that key only activates the real key to the core, which will shortly come to him. [[Omega Supreme (WFC)|Omega Supreme]] has been activated and with a might blow, quickly takes out most of the Decepticons in Iacon. His next objective: destroy Megatron!
Though the other Decepticons are ready to retreat, Megatron tells them to stand firm and accuses Starscream of planning this. Starscream taunts him in return, but claims he can still restart the link between the core and Trypticon station. Megatron orders the attack. [[Cliffjumper (Prime)|Cliffjumper]] spots them incoming and sets a bunch of mooks onto them. The Decepticons mow through them and break into the building, so Cliffjumper sets up a force field to slow them down. They manage to bypass it and pursue Cliffjumper down long corridors, exchanging fire. The chase ends when Cliffjumper crashes into a wall and feebly protests as the Decepticons run past. They next encounter Jetfire who's surprised they got past his Cliffjumper, and sets more Autobots onto them. The Decepticons fight their way through the resistance and chase Jetfire down a bunch of corridors, before he ditches them in a room overrun with swarms. After some pest control, the Decepticons manage to get through the door and follow Jetfire, only for him to turn the base's full defenses on them. Another chase ensues, and they finally corner and finish off Jetfire. As they race through the corridors, Omega Supreme's claw punches through the wall and they finally face him. The other Decepticons hesitate, but Megatron gives a rousing speech and they raise the courage to attack Omega. When the titan finally falls, Megatron announces that the infusion is complete, Cybertron is his, and the Autobots are a broken army. All hail Lord Megatron!
'''Mission 1: Gathering troops'''<br />
Zeta Prime makes a distress call which surprises the Autobots, as they thought he'd bought the farm. Optimus isn't available to take his call, and he's cut off before he can tell Ironhide where he is. The Decepticons have cut the data links to prevent further communication. The Autobots send [[Bumblebee (Prime)|Bumblebee]] to find Optimus. Ironhide sends a rookie to help Ratchet and Air Raid. They've barely finished some basic training when news comes that the Decepticons have taken the control room, and Air Raid leaves to help. The rookie goes and gets the data links back online. He's only just informed Ironhide of the fact when Starscream bursts in, ready to terminate him. Luckily Optimus crashes through a nearby wall, and Starscream flees. Optimus heads into the facility proper, and runs into reinforcements in the form of Jetfire and another Autobot. As they move through the facility, the third Autobot is destroyed by a swarm, and then Optimus is taken out by a laser guard. With Bumblebee's help, Optimus recovers and they head for sector 5, where Ironhide has detected Decepticon activity. A not-so-leisurely drive later and they come face-to-face with Dirge, who promptly gets his skidplate kicked. The data links are back online, but Optimus reminds everyone that they must retake Iacon.
Jetfire reports that the Decepticons' Dark Energon corruptors are causing major damage to Iacon and the Decagon defense grid. The corruptors must be destroyed to restore contact with Zeta Prime. Optimus reminds everyone that he's not the leader and is intending to return to the docks once the war is over. The Autobots head into Iacon, destroying the turrets and Decepticon in an energon channeling plant. They find a lake of Dark Energon, which Ironhide warns would be hazardous to fall into (''no'', really?!) and manage to get across. The walls here are encrusted with Dark Energon crystals and beyond they find a Dark Energon corruptor. The Autobots destroy it by taking out the spikes, but Ironhide reveals there are two more of the things near the Decagon. They continue on until they reach the entrance to the Decagon, and, after destroying the two corruptors, they head inside and reactivate the defenses. All that's left to do is wait for Zeta Prime to make contact again.
With the Data-Net back up and running, Zeta Prime manages to contact the Autobots to let them know he's being held prisoner in Kaon Prison. The Autobots send a team out to rescue him. They first work their way through a security sector to each the prison entrance. Though the main gate is sealed, they activate a bridge and are able to break in via a secondary entrance. Within, they must first navigate an underground area heavily mined with depth charges and hazardous Dark Energon pools. After a brief crawl through ventilation ducts, they traverse a winding catwalk in a tower to the upper prison levels, destroying the generators to the force field protecting it as they go. Once they reach the prison control room, they're able to gain access to the next area, leading to the central processing station. As the door's magnetically shielded, they take out the generators powering it. They unlock the door but are confronted by [[Onslaught (WFC)|Onslaught]], who's determined to protect the station at all costs. After a vigorous battle, the Autobots head into the station, though Bumblebee is sure it's a trap.
[[Image:WFCDS Silverbolt vs prisoners.jpg|thumb|right|200px|wait, if they're Decepticon prisoners, shouldn't they be on our side?]]
Jetfire reports that Zeta Prime is being held in a nearby cell block. Ironhide's keen to bash more Decepticons, but Optimus reminds him of their mission. Megatron is amused by the rag-tag team which has come to rescue Zeta, and orders the Decepticons to destroy the invaders. Crossing a fast-flowing river of Dark Energon, the Autobots encounter a boastful Decepticon guard who sets a few tanks on them. When the Autobots easily destroy those, the Decepticon faces them himself, and is likewise dispatched. They continue on, over another bridge and fight their way through more Decepticons until they reach the cell block. One of the prison warders promptly unleashes the mysteriously fully-armed prisoners on them. When that doesn't work, he attacks them along with some grenade turrets, but fares about as well as the prisoners. The Autobots continue through an area with pedestals they have to hop across to reach another door, beyond which is another cell block. The prisoners there are released as well. Once they're dealt with, the Autobots cross another massive bridge and finally find Zeta Prime. Zeta is mortally injured, and Optimus returns his body to the High Council. The High Council make Optimus the new Prime, and task him with curing Cybertron's core of its Dark Energon infection.
Optimus approaches [[Grimlock (WFC)|Grimlock]] and [[Swoop (WFC)|Swoop]], but Grimlock's not interested in fights with Decepticons. Though talks quickly break down, the Autobots use psychology and Grimlock agrees to join them if Optimus can prove his strength against Grimlock. While they're talking the Decepticons abduct Swoop, and Grimlock asks the Autobots to mount a rescue. The Autobots head to the outskirts of Iacon and break through a series of force fields. A couple of Decepticon [[defender]]s trap them in another force field for an impromptu cage match, but aren't much of a challenge, however in the next room they encounter the mighty [[Cyclonus (WFC)|Cyclonus]]! Safe behind his force field, Cyclonus sets some "minions" on them, but when the minions are defeated and the force field disabled, Cyclonus feebly lets them past. They find Swoop in a lab, attached to some sort of device. When they free him, they find he's been experimented on with Dark Energon, and is out of his mind. By jolting him with the other machinery in the lab, they purge him of the infection and he says he'l repay them by showing them the quick way out. Unfortunately Cyclonus has rigged the lab to blow in one minute, so Swoop and the Autobots have to quickly travel down a series of corridors, disabling force fields as they go, in order to escape in time. Grateful, Grimlock lets Swoop join the Autobots, and will tag along for the time being to protect Swoop.

'''Mission 6: Saving the core'''<br />
[[Image:WFCDS Optimus near core.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Christmas decorations already? But it's only June!]]
Having obtained core samples, Jetfire and Ratchet have determined that the only thing stopping the core from healing is the corruptors. The Autobots therefore head for the core. After battling a Decepticon [[captain]], they traverse another corridor full of Decepticons, and bypass another force field, then find themselves following a set of massive pipes, until they come to a room filled with superheated air, which they speed through in vehicle mode to minimize damage. More fighting ensues and then the Autobots must breach another force field while avoiding floor-based hazards. They reach an area rich in Dark Energon, which Optimus reasons is where the corruptors will be. After battling some more Decepticons, they take out the power supply to the corruptors, and are confronted by Brawl. Brawl boasts that he himself will supply the backup power, and engages the Autobots in battle while displaying the unique ability to spawn swarms. The Autobots defeat him, saving the core. The core, however, is unable to sustain them while it recovers, so Optimus says they must leave in ships. They have one last thing to do, however: destroy Trypticon Space Station.

*''Unlockable character: Warpath''<br />
Trypticon station is closing in on Cybertron, destroying the fleeing Autobot ships as it goes. Optimus orders a strike team to ascend the space bridge to Trypticon. Ironhide protests that it's suicide, but Optimus is determined to protect the Matrix of Leadership and the future of their race. They get on board Trypticon and head for the main energon pumps. The place is swarming with Decepticons, and more come running when the pumps are disengaged, but the Autobots continue on. The intense fighting causes a power surge, knocking out the station's primary systems. The Autobots get the energy flowing again, but that just attracts more Decepticons. After a while smashing Decepticons, one manages to ambush them at a bridge, but it doesn't slow them down long. Unfortunately the power goes out again, and Ironhide determines something's causing a serious power drain. As the station quakes around them, the Autobots find Trypticon's main cannon. They destroy the cannon and, with the power core destroyed, there's now nothing keeping the station in orbit (except, y'know, basic physics). The Autobots flee at full speed through the collapsing station and make it out in time. Their relief is shortlived, as the station itself is transforming! Grimlock thinks it looks familiar.
Optimus rallies his men to make an assault on Trypticon. They first encounter a couple of corruptors disrupting power, which they take out along with their Decepticon guards. Further along they run into Ironhide, who's pinned down and can't reach a security access panel. That problem is solved by the application of some gunfire. The Autobots blast their way through more resistance, including a group of [[melee specialist]]s who mob them. Getting closer to the crash site, the Autobots pass through more hazardous areas filled with superheated air, eventually reaching an area filthy with Dark Energon. They fight a few more Decepticon mooks before finally reaching Trypticon himself. The beast is huge, and they fight him from a bridge until he destroys the platform with one swipe of his tail. They keep pounding at him, and finally Trypticon falls, defeated. Optimus gives a last rousing speech declaring they will keep Cybertron alive in their memories forever and the Autobots flee Cybertron in their ships.
*Because you can select any unlocked character to go on a mission, this sometimes leads to characters being in two places at once, if one of the characters you've selected is an NPC on that mission.
*Likewise, Ironhide and Megatron ''always'' provide the instruction for the Autobot and Decepticon rescue missions, respectively, even if they're who you're meant to be rescuing. Thus Ironhide will appear on your screen talking about himself in the third person and instructing you on where he's being held.
*Despite the fact that the Decepticons spend their whole campaign trying to get hold of Dark Energon, there seems to be a hell of a lot of it on Cybertron already. The canals when they're trying to reactivate the energon bridge appear to be composed of it, and Iacon has Dark Energon crystals growing out of the walls.
*A glitch allows you to go almost anywhere in the levels of the games. By backing up into a corner, the camera will glitch and cause ou to fall out through the floor and out of the level's map. If you have an 'Air' character, it is entirely possible to fly to the end of a mission or to skip a certain part. For this reason, you could kill certain characters behind barriers and unlock doors and such without having to transverse large distances or defeat an army of enemies.
==Notes==
[[Image:BluestreakWFCconceptart.jpg|right|250px|thumb|]]
* The first level of the Autobot version is nigh on identical to the first level of the Decepticon version, as far as gameplay goes.
* Similar to [[Transformers Animated: The Game]], closing the DS will initiate a much more robotic classic [[Transformation#The noise|Transformation sound]]. Opening the DS makes the sound go in reverse.
* At some point of the game's development, [[Bluestreak (WFC)|Bluestreak]] was planned to be a playable character. Nevertheless, he was axed from the final version of the game. He did get to have some cool concept art, though.
'''Bumblebee discovers that MECH and Starscream are responsible for his troubles; Ratchet confronts demons from his Cybertronian past.'''

==Synopsis==
With [[Bumblebee (Prime)|Bumblebee]] on a medical bed, [[Ratchet (Prime)|Ratchet]] tells [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] off for taking the scout into battle. When Bumblebee comes around, he faces Ratchet's ire as well, and [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]] grounds Bumblebee until his [[transformation cog|T-cog]] can be recovered. Ratchet has another idea though—he offers to donate his own T-cog in a transplant. Though Optimus is uncertain, Ratchet convinces him.

[[Megatron (Prime)|Megatron]] is pleased with the new device [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]] has secured—a [[force field]] generator—although Megatron's demonstration leaves him startled.

Elsewhere, [[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]] and [[Silas]] find an [[energon]] deposit, though Silas would appreciate it if Starscream didn't talk so much.

Ratchet selects [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]] to do the operation, though she's less than enthusiastic. She starts by putting Ratchet in induced [[stasis lock|stasis]], but before she can do the same for Bumblebee, an alarm signals the appearance of another relic from the [[Vaults of Iacon]]. Optimus calls a halt to the operation so he, Arcee and [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] can investigate. No sooner have they left than [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]] contacts the base. He's disappointed only Bumblebee's there to take his call, but passes on the news that he's got the possible coordinates of a [[MECH]] base. Unable to understand Bumblebee, he searches for someone who speaks English, but Ratchet is barely coherent, still recovering from stasis. [[Jack Darby|Jack]] volunteers to pass the message on.

Optimus and his team reach the top of a mountain to find Knock Out and [[Breakdown (Prime)|Breakdown]] uncovering the [[Forge of Solus Prime]]. With it, the Autobots could conceivably create a new T cog for Bumblebee.

MECH infuses the newly-found energon into their creation, but as it begins to stir, Bumblebee bursts through the door. Though unarmed, Bumblebee throws an industrial-sized barrel at Starscream, knocking him flat, and proceeds to shrug off the weapons fire from the MECH goons.

As Knock Out and Breakdown free the forge, the Autobots charge them. While Bulkhead tackles Breakdown, Optimus and Arcee find they have a bit of a problem getting past Knock Out's shield generator, and he pushes them back towards the edge of the cliff.

Bumblebee knocks a bunch of MECH troopers flat, jumps on their robot and tears his T-cog from its innards. No sooner is this done than he's hit by a blast from Starscream. As MECH withdraw, Starscream grabs the T-cog and threatens to destroy it.

Ratchet recovers, only to find Fowler shouting at him about MECH coordinates, and the kids reveal Bumblebee has gone to deal with it.

Meanwhile, Bumblebee has had enough of Starscream's gloating and belts the ex-Decepticon, knocking him flat. As the T-cog flies up into the air, Bumblebee jumps for it, but a quick blast by Starscream spells the end of that attempt. While Starscream leaves, Bumblebee is left with his shattered T-cog. Starscream meets up with MECH outside the compound, but Silas is less than impressed with him for losing the T-cog, and Starscream is soon surrounded by MECH troops.

Optimus and Arcee are forced back to the cliff edge. While Breakdown is distracted by their predicament, Bulkhead takes the opportunity to grab the Forge of Solus Prime and smack the Decepticon with it. Breakdown lands on Knock Out and for a few moments Bulkhead stands triumphant, at least until Megatron steps out of the [[GroundBridge]] and blasts him. Collecting the Forge, the Decepticons leave. Ratchet reports the situation with MECH to Optimus.

Starscream comes around to find MECH gone. When he sees Optimus's team arrive at the MECH base, he tries to transform, only to find his T-cog had been taken, and runs off panicking into the woods. Meanwhile, Bumblebee walks out to join his comrades, sadly holding his own damaged T-cog. Optimus radios Ratchet to prepare for surgery.

On the ''[[Nemesis (Prime)|Nemesis]]'', Megatron attempts to use the Forge, only to discover that it requires the power of a [[Prime (rank)|Prime]] to work.

Ratchet finishes operating, restoring Bumblebee's old cog. Though Bumblebee's first few attempts to transform fail, he eventually manages it, and takes Raf for a drive. Ratchet, for his part, seems happy that it worked.
==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===
*Once again, Starscream's eyes are completely red for the first half of the episode. It's only after Bumblebee hits him with a barrel that they are only red circles. Maybe hitting him with a heavy object is the key to making them normal.

===Continuity errors===
*In the previous episode, the [[MECH Surgeon]] is shown to be able to lift (and run with) Bumblebee's T-cog without much difficulty. So why is it that in this episode, Silas tells Starscream to bring it with him, instead of just picking it up and taking it himself? He's even standing right in front of it.

===Continuity notes===
*Once more, Starscream mentions being the one to "offline" [[Cliffjumper (Prime)|Cliffjumper]].

===Transformers references===
* While delirious, Ratchet refers to [[Fuzor]]s, and even names [[Bantor (Prime)|Bantor]], a reference to [[Bantor (BW)|''Beast Wars'' Bantor]].
* Optimus mentions [[Solus Prime]], one of the [[Thirteen]].
* Knock Out unfavorably compares the results of Megatron's failed forging experiment to a "[[Fortress Maximus (disambiguation)|Fortress-Maximus]] Grade [[Nucleon Shock Cannon]]".
* Megatron once again calls Optimus by his pre-Prime name "Orion Pax" from the previous episodes during his gloating.

===Real-world references===
*Knock Out broadly references award shows such as the Oscars and Emmys.
*"Put a tiger in your tank" was a slogan of [[wikipedia:Exxon|Exxon]].

===Trivia===
* Ratchet's random (and awkward) gibberish while in stasis is similar to Fowler's random sayings in "[[Darkness Rising, Part 4]]", and "[[Darkness Rising, Part 5|Part 5]]".
* When Agent Fowler relays the information on MECH's whereabouts to Bumblebee, he says it really slowly and condescendingly, as if he believes Bumblebee has trouble understanding English, rather than just mute. Fowler's kind of a jerk.
* During the fight in the hangar, Bumblebee punches several MECH soldiers, sending them flying through the air with enough force to break the lenses on the prototype. The Autobots must not be trying to use minimum force on MECH; it is very, ''very'' unlikely any of those soldiers survived the blows Bumblebee gave them. Then again, Bumblebee might have been holding a small grudge against them.
*At the end of the episode Optimus notes that aside from Bumblebee's T-Cog "that is not all that Ratchet repaired today." Is Optimus saying that the doc fixed Bumblebee's voice box as well? Or that he reapaired his guilt of not being able to fix Bumblebee all this time...which would still point to him repairing the voice box. Of course, the writers are ''probably'' just screwing with the fans. Who knows?
''Mirage is a [[Mini-Con]] from the [[Armada (franchise)|Armada]] portion of the [[Unicron Trilogy]] [[continuity family]].''

[[Image:Armada Mirage MTMTE.jpg|right|300px|thumb|]]
Once upon a time, '''Mirage''' was the cowardly sort who believed it was better to [[Furmanism|run and hide than live in the knowledge that he fought]]. However, when he was faced with the oppressive cruelty of the [[Decepticon]]s and acts perpetrated by the less scrupulous Mini-Cons upon their own kind, Mirage was forced to realise that to do nothing in the face of injustice was the worst crime of all. No longer the shrinking violet, Mirage stepped up to become the intelligent, observant commander of the [[Race Mini-Con Team]] and a leading 'bot in Mini-Con society. However, he is still plagued by feelings of remorse over his past cowardice and inaction to such an extent that he vigorously pushed for the Race Team to side with the [[Autobot]]s, in the hopes of never showing that other side of his personality ever again.
*The Photoshop editing by [[Dreamwave Productions]] in their ''[[More Than Meets The Eye (Armada)|More Than Meets The Eye]]'' profile books were less than satisfactory on some pages. The image that appears at the top of this article has been repaired by the uploader.
'''''Transformers: Prime''''' is a [[franchise]] that launched in 2010. Its fiction is part of the [[Aligned continuity family]], based on the same [[production bible]] as ''[[Transformers: War for Cybertron (franchise)|War for Cybertron]]''. Its design aesthetic is somewhere between the [[live-action film series]] and ''[[Transformers Animated (franchise)|Animated]]''. The writers of the first two live-action movies, [[Roberto Orci]] and [[Alex Kurtzman]], are executive producers on the ''Prime'' cartoon. Orci described this as a chance to do what he "couldn't do in the movies."<ref>[http://www.movieweb.com/news/roberto-orci-and-jeff-kline-talk-transformers-prime Movieweb.com interview with Roberto Orci & Jeff Kline]</ref>

==Continuity==
The cartoon is the principle element of ''Prime'' fiction, and the comic is a prequel miniseries that ties into the show smoothly. But broader continuity is more contentious: While [[Hasbro]] has consistently described all ''Prime'' and ''War for Cybertron'' fiction as one single [[continuity]],<ref>[[Hasbro Q&A/September 2010: Answers|TFWiki.net Hasbro Q&A, Sept. 2010]]</ref> the various media have been produced by different creative teams and often contradict.

For example, the ''Prime'' cartoon features [[Dark Energon]] just like ''War for Cybertron'', but with the previously-unseen quality of being able to [[Terrorcon (Prime)|reanimate corpses]].<ref>[[Darkness Rising, Part 2|''Prime'' episode "Darkness Rising, Part 2"]]</ref> And strangely, Megatron is able to create an army of such creatures by crashing Dark Energon into the dead world of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]],<ref>[[Darkness Rising, Part 2|''Prime'' episode "Darkness Rising, Part 5"]]</ref> despite the reason for the planet's demise in ''War for Cybertron'' being its complete infection with the substance. Also, the aesthetics and characterizations in the games are inspired primarily by ''[[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]]'', while the cartoon takes many cues from the [[live-action film series]]. So while the [[Bumblebee (Prime)|Bumblebee of the games]] looks and talks like [[Bumblebee (G1)|his ''Generation 1'' self]], the cartoon version looks like [[Bumblebee (Movie)|his movie incarnation]] and [[R2-D2|speaks in electronic beeps and squawks]]. An [[pseudocanon|apocryphal]] short story by [[Alex Irvine|the author of ''Exodus'']] [[Bumblebee at Tyger Pax|attempts to explain this change]], but the [[retcon]] occurs ''before'' the game events, so the contradiction remains.

When asked about the discrepancies, Hasbro VP of Intellectual Property Development [[Aaron Archer]] replied, "reasons for the confusion will be revealed".<ref>[[Hasbro Q&A/January 2011: Answers|TFWiki.net Hasbro Q&A, Jan. 2011]]</ref> The show's staff added Dark Energon's nature differed due to the games and show being set in different eras, and added that while they try to keep the large continuity co-ordinated, ultimately such errors are secondary to the freedom of telling the best story.<ref>[http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/botcon-2011-transformers-prime-panel-172315/ TFW coverage of Hasbro Studios panel at BotCon 2011]</ref>
