Synopsis
Out in space, the Dinoforce work to repair the damaged hull of the Thunder Arrow while inside, Deathsaurus rages at Gōryū and the Breastforce. He blames their incompetence for the failure of their recent mission, and when Leozack attempts to point out that it was actually the fault of Deathsaurus's miscalculations, he finds himself seized by the head and dangled off the ground. After a tense moment, Deathsaurus calms down and drops Leozack, instructing the Decepticons to focus their efforts on destroying Star Saber and Victory Leo. Gōryū grins widely, chuckling to himself that he'll be able to show up Leozack with a new plan he has come up with...

While Star Saber is busy seeing Perceptor off as the scientist heads back into space, at the Shuttle Base, Jean and Holi are staggering through the halls with armfuls of mechanical parts. After refusing to tell the curious Wing and Waver what they're up to, they bring the parts to Laster, who is, at Jean's request, constructing a mech for the boy to pilot so that he can help the Autobots more than ever before. When Holi asks what Jean plans to name it, he informs him it's a secret.

The following morning, in the forest outside Jean's school, Illumina waits for Jean to arrive. She is shocked to see Jean's mech stomping up the hill and hides behind a tree, thinking the robot is a Decepticon, but when Jean pops the cockpit and reveals himself, she comes running up in delight. Illumina is not the only one surprised by this sight, however—hiding in the foliage nearby are Rairyū and Kakuryū, who have been spying on the school as part of Gōryū's plan. After some confusing decision-making, they choose to go and report to their leader, while Illumina climbs aboard Jean's mech, and the pair head to school together. As one of the school's sisters closes the gate, Jean's mech comes leaping over the fence, much to the shock of the pupils and faculty. Illumina's friend Joyce is particularly suspicious of the pair's "morning drive," but admits that she thinks Jean has got a lot cooler.

In the hills around the school, Gōryū prepares the Dinoforce to enact his "Plan For Me and By Me" plan that he came up with, but Kakuryū and Rairyū's report of a "new Autobot" makes him cautious, and the team decides to investigate first. Their "investigation" consists of shooting the living bejeezus out of it, which unfortunately happens just as Jean is giving Illumina, Joyce, Rami and Clump a ride. Jean dodges the Decepticon blast completely by accident, but Gōryū is unfazed and decides to press ahead with his plan anyway, ordering the Dinoforce to attack the school in order to draw out Star Saber. Determined to save his friends even though his mech has no offensive weapons, Jean confronts the Decepticon dimwits in a desperate stand-off. With both sides unsure of what move to make, Jean eventually decides to try and lead them away from the school, just as Gōryū decides to try and circle around him. The result is a bizarre high-speed sideways-shuffle by both parties, which ends with the Dinoforce tripping over each other as Jean high-tails it off the campus.

On the edge of the atmosphere, the returning Star Saber receives an SOS from Holi informing him of the attack on the school, and that Victory Leo has already headed out. Star Saber quickly joins Victory Leo en route, and the pair race to the school, arriving just as Gōryū catches up to Jean's mech and is about to crush it. With Gōryū's foot planted firmly on top of the mech, Star Saber and Victory Leo are unable to do anything as the Dinoforce open fire on them. Jean is able to turn the tide when he releases the only "weapon" his mech has: a barrage of smoke grenades that blinds Gōryū, causing him to stumble backwards and set Jean and his friend free. With Star Saber and Victory Leo staring them down, the villains promptly combine into Dinoking, but the two Autobots follow suite and merge into Victory Saber. Although this would normally spell instant defeat for the Dinoforce, Dinoking has created a new weapon for himself: the mighty "Dinoblater Cannon", which he unleashes upon Victory Saber. Alas, the cannon is no match for Victory Saber's power, and he slices Dinoking back into the Dinoforce with his Saber Blade. As Victory Saber holds his blade aloft over the collapsed pile of Decepticons, Gōryū rises and begs for mercy for his troops, offering to submit to Victory Saber's wrath if they are spared. At Kakuryū's urging, however, the rest of the Dinoforce seize Victory Saber's legs and throw themselves between Gōryū and the Autobot, crying out to their leader to escape. After a moment, Victory Saber sheathes his sword and turns away, tells Gōryū that he has been blessed with good troops, and to rest and heal for their next meeting.

As the sun sets over the school, while Victory Saber apologizes to Headmistress Mabel for the disturbance, Illumina tells Jean how cool she thinks he looked fighting the Decepticons. Blushing furiously, Jean asks Illumina if it would be okay for him to name his mech after her. Turning just as red, Illumina agrees... at which point Jean reveals that he had already painted the name on, peeling off a strip of paper to reveal the "Illumina II" logo on the mech's side. Joyce, however, thinks that the "Joyce II" would have been a much better name.
Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
* In the Japanese dialogue, Kakuryū and Gairyū discuss why their bosses are having a meeting. In the dub, Gairyū says he volunteered for repair duty rather than hang around while Deathsaurus was in a bad mood.
* The Narrator says Perceptor is returning to Micro and notes that Star Saber is acting as escort.
* The distance that the Dinoforce have to fire is inflated from 2500 metres to 3500.
* Illumina is named Mila in the dub, which doesn't match the name on Jean's mech, but Joyce actually refers to it as the "Irumina II" (see note below on the naming).

Animation or technical errors
*The "Illumina II" logo on the side of Jean's mech is the subject of a thorough Engrish-mangling, appearing as "Irumina II."

Continuity errors
* The Thunder Arrow was not involved in the battle in the previous episode, and as such, it makes no sense that it's so badly damaged.

* Jean's school, previously named Schwimmbam School in "Attack! Leozack", is now named Schwimmbad School. Presumably someone caught the spelling error from the previous episode, as Schwimmbad is an actual German word — it means "swimming pool". Oddly enough, the school doesn't appear to have a pool.

Transformers references
*Perceptor finally returns to join the main Autobot force in space, after having been on Earth since "Ginrai Dies!!" Oddly, Minerva and Wheeljack are not shown to go with him.

*Jean's classmates return after a prolonged absence from the screen. Illumina, Joyce and Rami haven't been seen in over two-dozen episodes, having last appeared in "Move Out! Rescue Team", while Clump was more recently featured in "Fight to the Death!! Antarctic Battle", only eight episodes ago.

Miscellaneous trivia
*There was a two-week break between the previous episode and this one when the series originally aired.
*Yet another episode that defers use of one of the show's stock title cards, presenting the title as white-text-on-black.
*This episode features the solitary appearance of Waver in robot mode in the whole dang series. In this episode, he is voiced by Shinobu Satouchi‎, whereas in his only previous speaking appearance, in "Fight to the Death!! Antarctic Battle", he was voiced by Yoshikazu Hirano.
*Breaking with the tradition of the last couple of episodes, Perceptor is referred to by name for the first time since he began appearing in Victory.

Home video releases
;DVD
*2003 — Transformers: Victory — DVD Box 02 (Pioneer LDC) — Japanese audio only.
Jean's first day at school doesn't go smoothly, thanks to an attack by the Decepticon second-in-command, Leozack!

:English/Malay dub name: "Leozack Attacks"

Synopsis
As the sun sets over the ocean, the Decepticon Leozack swoops down through the orange sky and plunges into the surf below, where he boards the waiting Thunder Arrow. Meeting with Deathsaurus, he swears to end Star Saber's life as a gift to his emperor, and recruits the Dinoforce to aid him in his endeavour.

Elsewhere on Earth, the Autobots have set the Galaxy Shuttle down beside a lake and are in the midst of scanning the globe for Decepticon activity as part of their preparations for establishing a defense program for the planet. While the Brainmasters work at this, the Multiforce are busy goofing off playing volleyball with Jean and Holi. With the day growing long, the games are brought to an end as everyone recalls that Jean will be starting school the following day. Although Jean is a little concerned about interacting with humans—something that he has never really had to do before—Star Saber assures him that all will be fine.

The next day, at Jean's school-to-be, Schwimmbad School, a young girl named Illumina talks with her friends Joyce and Clump about the new student arriving that day. The conversation is immediately replaced with stunned silence, however, as Star Saber comes soaring in overhead, and Holi, sirens blazing, rolls up and Jean hops out. The student body is thrilled at the sight of the two Autobots transforming to robot mode, though Jean is a bit embarrassed when Holi's leg gets stuck halfway and needs a good shake to pop it into shape. At this point, the school headmistress Mabel appears, and is sufficiently taken aback when Star Saber lifts her in his palms to speak to her more personably. As classes begin, Star Saber and Mabel complete the necessary paperwork, and Star Saber recounts the story of how the Dinoforce destroyed the spaceship containing Jean's scientist parents. Although his parents met their end, Jean was jettisoned in a capsule and recovered by Star Saber, and was then raised by the Autobots as the commander's surrogate son.

At the same time, Jean is proving to be a hot topic of discussion amongst the students. Unfortunately, this discussion is going on right in the middle of class, and despite warnings from the teacher, the whole class winds up hanging on Jean's every word as he explains the powers of the Brainmasters. Holi and Star Saber snoop in the window and are pleased to see that Jean is getting along well, but their attention is suddenly diverted by the blazing arrival of Leozack, who opens fire on Star Saber, and inadvertently, the school as well. Star Saber attempts to lead the Decepticon away from the school, but Leozack does not fall for the tactic and engages Star Saber with his Electromagnetic Nunchaku while Holi tangles with his Breast Animal. The situation worsens when the Dinoforce come crashing through the school gates, and Jean and his new friends are left unable to escape, trapped on the top of the school building. Clump immediately blames Jean for their misfortune, pointing out that the Decepticons would not have attacked if he had not brought the Autobots there, and the rest of the students start agreeing with him. Thankfully, Illumina and Headmistress Mabel make the children understand that Earth would be in danger from the Decepticons regardless of the Autobots' presence. Just then, the V-Star sets down on top of the school, and Star Saber instructs the children to pilot it to aid him in the battle.

Meanwhile, Holi has radioed the Galaxy Shuttle to summon backup, and the Brainmaster respond to the call with haste. They come roaring up the road to the school just as Star Saber fights off a Decepticon dog-pile, and in response to their presence, the Dinoforce form Dinoking. But the Brainmasters have their own secret power... by strength, intelligence and skill combined, they merge into the mighty Road Caesar! As the two combiners tussle, Jean dispatches the Dinoforce's shells with the V-Star, then pilots the craft back to Star Saber, ejecting at the last minute so that the commander can combine with the V-Star into his super robot mode. Thusly powered up, Star Saber delivers critical damage to Leozack with his Saber Blade, just as Road Caesar topples Dinoking. Knowing they are beaten for now, the Decepticons retreat.

In the early evening, the Brainmasters work to repair the damage done to the school while Star Saber apologizes to Mabel for involving her and the students in the crisis. Mabel insists that no apology is necessary, and hopes that the Autobots will continue to fight for Earth's sake. Jean, meanwhile, is the subject of adulation again after his display of skill piloting the V-Star, and Clump apologizes for misjudging him. Holi rolls up and asks any of the students if they'd like to go for a drive, but he isn't expecting them all to pile on top of him at once!

Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
* During the attack on Jean's parent's spacecraft, Kakuryū says he can smell energy.
* Leozack telling Deathsaurus to look forward to Leozack eliminating Star Saber is missing altogether.
* Jean's list of attributes which the Brainmasters possess becomes "Courage! Wisdom! Skill!" — since the second attribute was originally "Strength!", it's accompanied by an image of Blacker holding a spacecraft over his head. Not really a demonstration of wisdom!
* Rather than directly addressing Headmistress Mabel, Star Saber tells Holi to go tell her to get everyone to safety. Of course the animation then has Holi running away from the school with Star Saber.
* Laster refers to the Dinoforce as "clowns" rather than "small fish".

Technical or animation errors
* After Jean ejects from the V-Star, he discovers there's no parachute. That's OK, because Holi catches him and somehow this is better than hitting the concrete road...

Continuity Errors
* So like, this Mars expedition, was it BEFORE or AFTER the Decepticons blew the planet up in The Headmasters?
* The blackboard in Jean's classroom shows a date of 'MAR 15 THU', which doesn't fit in with the 2025 dating of the series in other works (because that would make March 15 a Saturday). (On the other hand, background signage in the series is often a law unto itself.)

Miscellaneous trivia
* This episode does not feature either of the two stock Victory title cards (one featuring Star Saber, the other Deathsaurus), opting for just white text on a black screen.
*Not counting the preview in the last episode, this is the first appearance of the Brainmasters' Road Caesar combined form.
* This episode features the first appearances of most of the scarcely-seen individual robot modes of the Multiforce, although aside from Wing, they only appear in still flashback images. Waver and Mach are the only two who don't appear in robot mode here, but they will be seen in later episodes; conversely, these scenes are the only appearances of robot-mode Dash and Tacker in the series.
* The final commercial bumper in this episode, featuring Road Caesar, does not appear at any other time during the series.
* Jean's new school is named "Schwimmbam School" according to the sign over the gate. The later episode "Jean - Defend the Campus!!" amends this to Schwimmbad School which is likely to be more accurate as Schwimmbad is an actual German word, meaning "swimming pool". The fact that Kakuryū attempts to talk his way out of the Dinoforce's mission by claiming he can't swim may well be an injoke.
