[[Tigatron]] observes a strange energy pulse in a distant mountain. Simultaneously, within the [[Darksyde|Predacon base]], [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] is woken by his computer. It reports the energy anomaly, and that it is of alien origin. Megatron suspects this could be the start of something big and thus sends [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] to investigate. The fire ant burrows into the mountain and recovers a [[Golden Disk (Vok)|strange discus]].

[[Optimus Primal|Primal]] is on a scouting run looking for the energy anomaly that Tigatron reported. He sees a strange probe, and follows it. The probe stops and forms into a hologram of Megatron. He proposes to meet about a truce on neutral ground, between both leaders.

When they meet, Megatron insists that the truce is not an act of treachery. He explains that he has no time to fight [[Maximal|Maximals]], and he needs time to think. Primal reluctantly agrees to a truce, bound by Maximal code. [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] proposes that it's about the alien energy. Primal agrees, stating that something scared Megatron very badly. [[Rattrap]] is sent—despite his usual complaints—to infiltrate the ''[[Darksyde]]''.

Meanwhile, [[Tarantulas (BW)|Tarantulas]] hacks his way into a holding chamber to steal one of the Predacon ship's remaining Transwarp cells. [[Waspinator]] surprises him and demands an answer, and Tarantulas easily defeats him. Megatron, watching the exchange, decides to let Tarantulas do his work, and throw another kink in it—[[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]].

[[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] delivers Rattrap to the Predacon base—unarmed—and drops him off quickly before hailing the Predacon channels. Megatron casually disarms the perimeter defenses and asks Airazor to leave. As she leaves, he stops her a moment and suggests she take Rattrap with her. Foiled, they return to the base and report to Primal, but exchange knowing glances—the distraction was enough for [[Tigatron]] to make his entrance.

Blackarachnia surprises Tarantulas, and in the confusion, Megatron hacks the Transwarp cell and adds his own programming.

Tigatron hacks the Predacon database in a cool VR world, and discovers the second Golden Disk's datatracks. Terrorsaur finds Tigatron hacking and sounds the alarm, but Tigatron uses Terrorsaur and Scorponok's goonery against each other. Under orders not to fire, the Predacons chase Tigatron, leading into a battle with the rest of the Maximals.

Under the limitations of a truce, the Predacons and Maximals battle without using their weapons. Primal steals a wire from Inferno's rocket. Terrorsaur fails at dodging a piece of sheet metal that Cheetor and Rhinox move into position. The spiders are smart enough to avoid one trap set by Dinobot, but in doing so, are crushed by another. Without firing a single shot, the Maximals have won the day... unless, of course, Megatron intentionally let them get away.

On the Maximal base, Tigatron explains what Megatron discovered: a golden disk similar in size to the one Megatron originally stole, this one created by the same aliens who crafted the flying island, and seeded the energon on the planet. The disk itself was part of a signal that the aliens sent, ensuring that the planet received a message:

* When Optimus arrives at the neutral territory to talk with Megatron, his shoulder pads are missing. Megatron's ones are also missing when he speaks to Airazor.
* While Megatron is in his closing words of the episode, he is missing his beast mode kibble, except the head of course. In fact, Megatron is missing most of his kibble throughout the episode, especially the pieces on his back (which form the sides of his beast mode).
* Not so much an error as it is an animation oversight, but if you look closely as Blackarachnia runs after Tigatron ''(right before the scene cuts to Dinobot,)'' you can see her holding a gun, despite Megatron's emphasis on "No shooting" mere seconds ago. Blackarachnia probably remembers this in the next scene involving her, as her gun is nowhere to be seen then.

In the [[Decepticon]] [[Decepticon Base|base]] at the bottom of the ocean, [[Blood]] lectures the [[Headmaster Junior]]s on the [[Chōkon Power]], the three primal energies of life—Chichōkon, the power of Earth, Jinchōkon, the power of Man, and Tenchōkon, the power of the Heavens. The Decepticons aspire to destabilize the balance of life on Earth by disrupting any one of the three Chōkon Powers, taking that energy for their own evil ends. [[Wilder]] decides to make a very personal start to the theft of Jinchōkon from human beings, selecting as his victim his former friend [[Chris]], previously a member of his [[Jack Boys]] motorcycle gang who left the group after Wilder joined the Decepticons. Chris is snatched off the streets by the gang under Wilder's orders, but his sister, [[Mary]], spots the kidnap and follows on her scooter. She soon loses their trail, and, searching for help, spots a police car—only it's not an actual officer's vehicle, but the [[Transtector]] belonging to [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]], who is out shopping with [[Minerva (Masterforce)|Minerva]] and [[Cab]] for a party for their last night in America. The Headmaster Juniors listen to Mary's story, and vow to help save her brother; she leads them to one of the gang's hangouts in the barren land outside the city.

At the gang's hideout, the kidnapped Chris is brought before Wilder; although Wilder proceeds to deliver a speech about how the power they now possess means they have nothing to fear, he also seems to display a genuine friendship for Chris when he asks him to stay with the gang—making him all the more furious when Chris refuses, telling Wilder that he is a changed man, causing Wilder to hurl his former friend into a wall and punch and kick him until he bleeds. At that point, a gang member alerts Wilder to the approach of Mary and the [[Autobot]] Headmaster Juniors. A battle ensues, with Shūta drawing the attention of the three Decepticon Juniors while Cab attempts to sneak into the hideout and get Chris to safety. [[Bullhorn]] spots him, however, and Minerva then comes to his aid while Shūta continues to battle Wilder.

[[Cancer (Masterforce)|Cancer]] tips the battle when he disconnects from his Transtector and captures Mary, putting a knife to her throat and preventing the Autobots from acting. Chris recovers from his beating in time to see his sister in danger and sneaks away from the gang, who are caught up watching the fight, stealing a motorcycle and driving it straight into Cancer's head. Chris leaps free as the bike explodes, and Cancer is toppled, allowing Mary to escape while Minerva paralyzes the other Decepticons with her Shock Gun. With Mary and Chris both safe, the Autobot Juniors transform to vehicle mode and make themselves scarce.

Back at the [[Ocean Research Institute of California|Ocean Research Institute]], [[Diver (Masterforce)|Diver]] joins the Juniors, Chris and Mary in a dinner party cooked by Cab. As Chris sees the friends laughing and joking together, he is reminded of his early days with Wilder, and how much his friend changed in the name of power. Diver tells Chris that all the Autobots are his friends, and Chris decides to make a new start with his life.

Meanwhile, back in the Decepticon base, Gilmer walks through the main hall alone, passing by the pillar atop which rests the glowing orb of light as he mutters to himself that Wilder is still a weakling. No sooner have the words passed his gills, however, than a bolt of crackling energy leaps from the orb and rips through Gilmer, who screams and begs forgiveness...

At the [[International School]], [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] and [[Cab]] hear about a mysterious fortuneteller from America who appeared on [[News Abroad|television]] the previous night and predicted that a series of disasters would soon occur all across the [[Earth]]. As [[Minerva (Masterforce)|Minerva]] passes by, they ask if she has heard the story, but she dismisses it as made-up nonsense. Everyone is shocked, however, when rains of huge meteors crash into cities all over the planet that night, exactly where the fortuneteller predicted. Minerva is willing to dismiss it as coincidence, and the [[Autobot]]s cannot detect a [[Decepticon]] hand in the proceedings, but nonetheless, they remain on edge.

The [[Headmaster Junior]]s are quick to tune into the next TV appearance by the fortuneteller, but as they watch, the masked woman claims that the disasters are the work of a race of evil alien beings who are at war with each other, with humans caught in the middle. She announces that these beings must be driven from the Earth, lest the disasters continue, and at the encouragement of the show's host, reveals the image of one of the creatures in her crystal ball: the image of [[Ginrai|Super Ginrai]]! Before even this shock can sink into the Juniors' minds, the fortuneteller suddenly predicts that another disaster is about to strike in Japan—at which point, [[New Japan Airlines|a jumbo jet]] explodes in mid-air, killing 450 people! Even as news of the jet explosion is broadcast, the Juniors rush to tell Ginrai and the [[Pretender]]s what they have learned, but the Autobots have already seen the broadcast and received a transmission from [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress]] to let them know that the space-based Decepticons have been moving strangely of late. This has led them to the conclusion that the Decepticons were responsible for the falling meteors, but [[Metalhawk]] and Ginrai decide to keep this a secret from the Juniors, and Ginrai suggests that they accompany him to America so that they can track down this so-called fortuneteller while the Pretenders focus on the Bomber Project.

In America, the fortuneteller has been picked up from the TV studio by a black car, the driver of which compliments her on her acting skills. As the fortuneteller removes her veil, the face of [[Mega|Lady Mega]] is exposed, and the other occupants of the car are revealed as [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster]]. They happily witness the effect that Mega's little speech has produced, as a mob wielding signs depicting Ginrai crosses the street in front of them, calling for the Autobot's destruction. They drive on to the next TV station, where Mega makes another phony prediction of a disaster that will occur "where water reigns." Ginrai and the Juniors watch the broadcast on a TV in a bar, but far more importantly, [[Gilmer]], [[Blood]] and [[Dauros]] are also tuned in on a portable viewer and take this as their cue to blow up [[Watson Dam]]. The dam proves too tough for their weapons to take out quickly, however, at which point [[Giga|Lord Giga]] steps up, clad in a suit of [[Godmaster]] armor. He aims his [[transtector]], the Gigatank, at the dam, and blows it to smithereens with one shot. Already on their way to the TV station, Ginrai and the Juniors hear of the dam's destruction, and the Juniors break off to help with the relief effort while Ginrai pursues the fortuneteller on his own. Hydra and Buster spot him in their rear-view mirror, and Mega quickly concocts a plan, sending Hydra on ahead to inform the other Decepticons.

The Juniors find themselves swept up in the raging flood waters, but transform to robot mode and leap to safety. They set about rescuing the people endangered by the flood, who are grateful for their help and ask if they are fighting against the "evil beings" the fortuneteller mentioned. The Juniors try to explain that it is the Decepticons, rather than Super Ginrai, who are the evil ones, but are distracted when they spot one of the crashed meteors being transported by helicopters to the nearby state park for televised examination. This, as circumstance would have it, is precisely where Mega is leading Ginrai, and where he is ambushed by the Decepticon Pretenders, forcing him to transform to robot mode to fight them. Mega dons her fortuneteller garb and appears before the TV crew broadcasting the study of the meteor, drawing everyone's attention to the battle and decrying Ginrai as evil once more. Just then, the Juniors arrive to help Ginrai, and the Decepticons are defeated, forcing Mega to take matters into her own hands.

She uses her Godmaster powers to levitate the meteor in an attempt to crash it into a nearby viewing platform (complete with a conveniently placed school field trip), but Ginrai gets between the two and blocks the meteor. A [[Girl A|girl]] falls from the tower as Ginrai is pushed back by the meteor and bumps into it, but Ginrai carefully catches her, and everyone is now convinced that he is the good guy in this fight. The schoolchildren begin lobbing rocks at Mega, distracting her and making her lose her concentration, allowing Ginrai to hurl the meteor at the other Decepticons. Mega sheds her disguise, manifests her own suit of Godmaster armor, and escapes aboard her own Transtector, the Megajet, followed by the other Decepticons. With the villains' deception revealed, Ginrai and the Autobots are celebrated as heroes, but the Juniors still wonder how the meteor fell to Earth in the first place. Ginrai reveals to them the activities of the space-based Decepticons, but it is clear that this is not the last of their evil schemes.

In 2005, Blurr was part of the Autobot detachment stationed at [[Autobot City]] on Earth, under [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]]'s command. Using his hyper-speed, he quickly alerted the Autobot ranks when [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]] and his Decepticons arrived to attack the city. In defending the city, Blurr combined non-stop chatter with non-stop firepower and helped hold the Decepticons at bay until [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] and reinforcements could arrive from [[Moonbase One]].

In the aftermath of the attack, Blurr was working on repairs with several of the remaining Autobots when [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] struck. After failing to get the obstinate [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] aboard a shuttle ("They were impossible impossible impossible!"), Blurr tossed the job over to [[Kup (G1)|Kup]] and [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]] and leapt aboard the second shuttle with Ultra Magnus. Pursued by Galvatron through space, the shuttle crew managed to escape only after detonating three-quarters of the ship. In need of repairs, they landed hard on the [[Junkion (planet)|planet of Junk]]. While Blurr was attending to some welding work, Galvatron and his soldiers caught up with them. Things went from bad to worse after Galvatron killed Ultra Magnus and took the [[Matrix of Leadership]], leaving the Autobots to deal with the planet's native inhabitants, the [[Junkion (species)|Junkions]]. Hostilities suddenly ceased, however, when Hot Rod and Kup arrived from [[Quintessa]] and negotiated a peace with the Junkions (complete with dance sequence!). As part of their "new era of peace and prosperity", the Autobots hosted the first annual [[Galactic Olympics]] several months later. Blurr really wanted to compete in the races, but instead was forced onto a mission with [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]] to bring [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]'s [[transformation cog]] to Autobot City on Earth. This simple courier run soon became more hectic than it was worth, though. Running into the newly revived Decepticon leader, Galvatron, Blurr and Wheelie were the first Autobots to face his renewed power and ended up marooned on [[Jupiter]]'s moon of [[Io]]. There they encountered kamikaze creatures known as [[Lipole|lipoles]], who struck in unison like a hive and could transform into explosive missiles. Blurr faced the Predacons again on Dread and was almost consumed by quickmud before Sky Lynx pulled him free. Blurr and the other Autobots managed to keep [[Predaking]] busy long enough for Kup to rouse [[Chaos (alien)|Chaos]], the creature who was the source of the death crystals. During an encounter with the Decepticons, Blurr and several Autobots encountered a "[[quadrant lock]]" created by the Quintessons and ended up falling through it along with [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]]. Their landing on the planet [[Zamojin (planet)|Zamojin]] was a harsh one, and Blurr's leg strut was too damaged for him to walk. Separated from the scientist Perceptor in the fall, Blurr asked Rodimus and Ultra Magnus to leave him while they searched for their missing comrade. The leaders agreed, since Perceptor was also the one best suited for repairing Blurr's leg. Unfortunately, the helpless Blurr was soon found by the superstitious and powerful local populace and taken to a nearby city, where the people planned to toss him into a molten pool. In a wacky turn of events, though, that soak was just what Blurr needed to realign his leg components, and he popped out of the pool as fast as ever. {{storylink|The Face of the Nijika}}

When the [[Hate Plague]] was released, Blurr was one of several Autobots who were damaged and taken out of action early during the catastrophe. As a result, he was unaffected by the plague and, after some repair work by a Quintesson, was available to help the newly active Optimus Prime in his search for a cure. {{storylink|The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2}}

Sometime later, on Cybertron, Blurr was beaten in a race by Hot Rod and [[Daniel Witwicky (G1)|Daniel Witwicky]]. This was done in part to help prove the engineer [[Brainstorm]]'s theory that Autobots could function better with human partners somehow incorporated into their fighting discipline. Little did anyone realize how soon that theory would be tested. After a major Decepticon offensive on Autobot City, Optimus Prime radioed Kup, Blurr and the others on Cybertron, warning them that the Decepticons were headed for the [[Plasma energy|Plasma Energy Chamber]], deep beneath the planet's surface. The Autobots arrived just in time to prevent [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] from unleashing too much [[plasma energy]] using the key he'd stolen from Earth. What little plasma energy had been released, however, was enough to overcharge the engines of the Autobot ship, launching them out into space.

Blurr and his comrades crash-landed on the planet [[Nebulos]] and were quickly taken hostage by a group of rebels fighting against the machine army of their overlords, the [[Hive (G1)|Hive]]. The Autobots managed to convince their "hosts" to release them when the Decepticons arrived in hot pursuit, but Blurr and several other warriors were deactivated and taken hostage by the Decepticons as they fled. {{storylink|The Rebirth, Part 1}} Brainstorm decided to put his ideas into action and created binary-bonded partnerships between the remaining Autobots and the rebels, forming [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]]. The Headmasters rescued Blurr and the others, but were soon forced to fight again when the Decepticons joined forces with the Hive, having created both Headmaster and [[Targetmaster]] duos in response. This tech-war continued when Brainstorm scanned one of the Hive Targetmasters and used those scans to recreate the technology for the remaining Autobots. Blurr and the others were stunned by this announcement, but nonetheless decided to join Fortress Maximus in his exile.

Blurr was sent as an ambassador to the Nebulan capital city, [[Koraja]]. However, the politician [[Zarak (G1)|Zarak]] did not trust these visitors to his world, and so he sabotaged the meeting to convince the others to rise up against the Autobots. While Blurr spoke, [[Krunk]] fired a magenetic polarizer weapon at Blurr's arm, which caused it to spasm and topple a fountain sculpture. As the debris bounced around, endangering the surrounding civilianz, Zarak's personal militia retaliated, and Blurr fled.

Fortress Maximus didn't give up on peace with the Nebulans, however, and he took Blurr and the others back into Koraja. In order to prove to the Nebulans that he could be trusted, Fortress Maximus offered his head to them. A few other Autobots followed his lead and offered their heads, while Blurr and the rest surrendered only their weapons. {{storylink|Ring of Hate!}}

The headless Autobots were kept under surveillance by the Nebulans, while Blurr's group of weaponless Autobots retreated to the forest, where they began construction of their headquarters. When the [[Council of Peers]] arrived to inspect the Autobots' efforts, Blurr showed them around. He pointed out Hot Rod, who was listening in on their Cybertron headquarters, but not transmitting anything, lest the Decepticons learn their location. The Decepticons arrived, and after both sides adopted the [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmaster]] process, the Headmaster Autobots were captured by the Decepticons. Blurr and the remaining Autobots who lived in the forest remained weaponless, so they teamed up with various Nebulans who sided with the Autobot-allied Nebulan [[Galen]] and thus were considered criminals by the Council of Peers. Blurr's partner was [[Haywire]], who had, like the others, undergone the [[Targetmaster]] process to become a weapon for his partner.

Blurr and the other Targetmasters headed for [[The Nursery]], where they found themselves under attack by [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]] and the [[Terrorcon (G1)|Terrorcons]]. The Autobots' new Targetmaster powers overwhelmed the Decepticons, but not before the Nursery was reduced to rubble. Zarak, who was Scorponok's Headmaster partner, realized that this war was quickly destroying the planet he loved, and so he freed the Autobot Headmasters, allowing the Autobots to leave Nebulos. When Galen died on Earth and his role as Fortress Maximus's Headmaster partner was assumed by [[Spike Witwicky (G1)|Spike Witwicky]], Spike led Kup and the other Targetmasters on a mission to the [[Club Con|Decepticon's island headquarters]] to rescue his brother, [[Buster Witwicky (G1)|Buster Witwicky]]. When the Decepticon [[Air Strike Patrol]] attacked [[MacDill Air Force Base]] on Earth, Optimus Prime (who had returned to command) led most of the Autobot Army into battle, including Blurr, leaving only a skeleton crew behind on the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]]. {{storylink|The Resurrection Gambit!}} After Scorponok's Decepticons arrived as well, Prime ordered Blurr and the rest of his troops to return to the Ark, suspecting an unknown entity was orchestrating this battle behind the scenes. {{storylink|All the Familiar Faces!}} When Blurr and the others returned to the Ark, they discovered that not only was [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] missing, but in his absence [[Blackjack]] had disabled the skeleton crew and placed bombs on board. Blackjack, who was startled by the Autobots, dropped the bomb, which started the countdown. Kup refused to allow the Autobots to flee the Ark in its shuttles, citing the lack of time to evacuate their fallen comrades in the medical bays, which prompted Blurr to panic. Blurr and the others were saved when Ratchet, who had been kidnapped by [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] (the mastermind behind the whole affair), arranged for the bombs to be teleported to Cybertron. When the Matrix-possessed Thunderwing invaded the Ark, Blurr used his speed to good advantage, dodging the Decepticon's attacks and punching the Matrix-aura demon repeatedly. After Magnus took the others in pursuit of [[Ratbat (G1)|Ratbat]] and ran into a bunch more Decepticons, Blurr was instructed to bring [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]] to the battleground. Blurr did so and even got to take a swipe at [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], but was promptly picked up and tossed into the distance by [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]]. However all this changed when the war broke out. The race track was bombed and the races themselves canceled. Blurr found himself despairing, due to his life falling apart and to both factions attempting to recruit him. Not long after encountering [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], who attempted to convince him to join the Decepticon ranks, Blurr got caught up in a gunfight that resulted in the death of Piston, one of his coworkers, as well as friend and colleague [[Fasttrack (IDW)|Fasttrack]]. After being on the receiving end of some harsh but fair words from [[Optimus Prime (G1)|a young pre-Prime Optimus]], he realized that he'd been relying upon the races to give him purpose in life; and beyond that--serving the Autobot cause would give him an even better purpose. Blurr was on the ''Trion'' when the ship was shot down and forced to crash-land on the devastated surface of Cybertron. Blurr and the rest of the team survived the crash and met up with Optimus Prime's unit, who were also stranded on the planet. Prime had suffered heavy damage back on Earth, and [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] was now in charge. When Jazz got a little uppity with Kup, Blurr tried to bring him down...only to find out that "hard core" beats fast every time. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 5}} The two Autobot units began working together under Kup and Jazz, and found themselves on the run from the [[Insecticon swarm]]. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 6}} Blurr and Drift were sent out on scouting patrol to keep the Autobots informed of the Swarm's movements. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 7}}

Unfortunately, Blurr was too far away when the swarm actually made their move, and by the time he reached his comrades with a warning, they were already under attack. Two years later, Blurr was still stationed on Earth with the Autobots under Optimus Prime's command. After Prime surrendered himself to [[Skywatch]], Blurr initially rejected Hot Rod's proposal to abandon the humans and their planet. He remained behind in the caves with the Autobots who, after a vote, came under [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]]'s leadership. {{storylink|New Arrivals, Old Encounters}} Once [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] arrived, however, the mood in the camp shifted appreciably. Many Autobots noticed Bumblebee's lack of authority in the shadow of Ultra Magnus and began to worry they would be somehow blamed or even arrested for Prime's actions. Blurr chose to leave the Autobots along with [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]], [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]] and [[Beachcomber (G1)|Beachcomber]], and they drove off to find Hot Rod. Not long after their departure, though, the foursome were attacked by a Skywatch patrol. All of Blurr's speed was useless when he didn't know where to go. He wandered the desert for days, fruitlessly trying to reach Hot Rod's group via his Autobot comms. Eventually, he was confronted by Bumblebee and his unit, who had made a Faustian deal with Skywatch to hunt down the Decepticons still active on the planet. Blurr was the first Autobot Skywatch had sent them after, and the Autobots had only agreed after [[Gordon Horiuchi|their contact]] demonstrated the ability to mode-lock the Autobots remotely using the badges which had been provided to them. Blurr, already anxious, didn't take Bumblebee's request to surrender very well, and he actually shot his friend in the chest while trying to escape. He was brought back to the caves by the Autobots, but they ultimately refused to turn him over to Skywatch. They found a way to escape Skywatch's domination when Bumblebee's badge malfunctioned due to Blurr's blast, leaving him unaffected by the mode lock. In order to keep Skywatch in the dark, they enlisted Blurr to recover a duplicate yellow Volkswagen Beetle to turn over to Skywatch as "Bumblebee". Despite his concerns, Blurr reluctantly agreed to help with the plan. {{storylink|The Impossible Knot}}

After the termination of their short-lived alliance with Horiuchi, Ultra Magnus returned, demanding assistance from Bumblebee's Autobots to arrest [[Hot Rod (G1)|"Rodimus Prime"]] and his followers for colluding with [[Swindle (G1)|Swindle]]'s Decepticons. Overruling Bumblebee's authority, he also deputised Blurr, dismissing Bumblebee's protests that the speedy Autobot had recently endured a major trauma at the hands of Skywatch. They arrived at the construction site of Rodimus's starship and watched as the two Autobot commanders bickered over the point of arresting somebody for treason now that the war was over. However, all argument between the Autobots ceased when Swindle revealed his treachery through his latest creation: the [[Stunticon (G1)|Stunticon]] combiner [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]]. {{storylink|Enemies of the System}}

The battle against the new gestalt warrior was going poorly for Blurr and the others until help literally dropped from the sky...landing right on top of Swindle. Optimus Prime joined the fight and the Autobots eventually managed to subdue Menasor. {{storylink|Earthworks}}

Four months later, the Decepticons returned to Earth and devastated the Autobot-Skywatch base. As his type of vehicle didn't have traditional rubber-tired wheels, he instead had small plastic wheels on his robot legs, which were tucked underneath the length of the hovercar mode. : A [[retool]] of the previous year's toy, Blurr was adapted to be able to hold his Nebulan/weapon [[Haywire]], replacing his pistol from the previous release. His fist-holes were widened to accommodate Haywire's [[5mm post]], plus a weapon-mount point was added to his midsection/vehicle-hood. Thanks to the wider fist-holes, the peg for Blurr's shield was also expanded.

: This toy uses the "full" variant of the original toy's pontoon decals, as well as using a darker aqua-blue paint for the front tips of the pontoons. His shield has also been painted with this shade of aqua, an inexplicable ''addition'' to the toy's [[paint operation]]s.

: Blurr is a [[retool]] of ''Generations'' [[Drift (G1)|Drift]], transforming into a cross between a [[Wikipedia:Nissan Silvia#S15|Nissan Silvia S15]] and a [[Wikipedia:Mitsubishi FTO|Mitsubishi FTO]]. Tooling changes involve a new head, a less prominent spoiler, a set of guns to replace Drift's swords, the inside panels of the doors to accommodate said guns and as an extremely appropriate feature, more free-running wheels. The head sculpt is influenced by [[Guido Guidi]]'s Blurr redesign from the IDW comics. The new large gun has a pivoting handle in the middle so that Blurr can hold the gun easily with both fists, while the two smaller guns can plug into the end of the barrel, forming a bipod, or if you feel like it, a crazy (but awesome) THREE-barrelled gun.
:For some reason, the ankle strut, molded of clear plastic, is ''completely'' painted over.

:''[[United (toyline)|United]]'' Blurr features a deco heavily inspired by the [[IDW Publishing]] rendition of the character that the toy is based upon. His robot mode consists mostly of four different shades of light blue on his arms, legs, and chest. Metallic blueish silver on his torso to match the color scheme used on the covers of "[[Spotlight: Blurr]]". Almost the entirety of his car mode is painted metallic blue with light blue details. He also features a more detailed rear end in car mode than his ''Generations'' counterpart as well as painted silver rims. He lacks the off-white stripe going down the center of the Generations version. Also the entire front of his head is painted, as well as his shoulders. Additionally, the blue stripes on his legs are a dark blue-green. The black on ''Generations'' Blurr's torso and tires is now a very dark blue on United Blurr. Even for a [[TakaraTomy]] Deluxe sized figure, Blurr features a very large amount of paint applications.
