They also, for unknown reasons, constructed it right next to [[Mount Fuji]], the largest mountain in Japan and a popular tourist spot. Think anyone will notice?

The base is powered by a magma energy conversion generator, providing power from the [[Earth]] itself. It includes a command center, in which you will usually find [[Metalhawk]] working to coordinate and communicate with Autobots around the world. As most of the Autobots also happen to be [[human]]s, the base also has a recreation room, in which foodstuffs can be obtained.

Other features of Autobot Base include multiple gun batteries and shields to act as a defence against attack, a fire suppression system, a satellite communications dish, a holding area for Decepticon captives, and a waterfall.

Having encountered the final Godmaster, [[Clouder]], in battle, the Autobots took the youngster back to Autobot Base. Unfortunately this would prove to be their undoing. Clouder was secretly working for the Decepticons, and played on the Autobots' trusting nature. He stole detailed plans of the base and handed them off to the Decepticons. After he used a bomb to destroy critical systems, Hawk became suspicious and finally caught Clouder red-handed with the Decepticon Headmaster juniors. Though Clouder was imprisoned, the Decepticons had the information they needed. With the Hydra brothers keeping the Autobot Godmasters busy, only Hawk and the Autobot juniors were left at the base to defend it against the Decepticon attack. {{storylink|Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!!}} Led by Overlord, the Decepticons began pounding the base with ordnance, despite the resistance put up by the defense systems. They used the plans they'd obtained to target areas of the base which were tactically important, and managed to disable most of the defense system before Ginrai finally showed up. A [[Seacon (Masterforce)|Seacon]] invasion of the base resulted in terminal damage to the generator at the heart of the base, forcing everyone inside to evacuate to the top of the base, where they were picked up by Godbomber. Shūta, as could be expected, did not take the loss of his father's legacy well. With the base's destruction, Grand Maximus' battleship effectively became the new Autobot HQ.
