Synopsis
Starscream has awakened from his deep sleep capsule (see Target 2006) and come to a personal revelation. For all his treachery and lust for conquest, what he really wants is to see his home again. His angst is interrupted by a young man who tells Starscream to cheer up -- it's Christmas Eve! Starscream is not impressed; he'd squash the fleshling then and there if he weren't so depressed.

Stubbornly, the kid refuses to leave until he demonstrates the Christmas spirit to Starscream. Starscream reluctantly flies him into town, where along the way they spy a van full of senior citizens stuck in some snow. Stopping, the kid suggests to Starscream that he should rescue them. But what's in it for me? Starscream asks.

As Starscream reaches for the van, he is blasted from behind by Streetwise, who suspects ill-doing from the Decepticon. After a heated battle, both are interrupted by the kid, who chastises Streetwise for jumping to conclusions. As Streetwise watches, Starscream picks up the van and sets it back down on the road. Streetwise escorts the van to its destination.

Later, downtown in front of a Christmas tree, the kid explains to Starscream the meaning of the Christmas spirit, of charity, and the communal reassurance of good will. Starscream doesn't care. The kid is confused -- didn't Starscream enjoy saving the elderly humans in the van? No, Starscream counters, he was merely pleased to humiliate the Autobot.

Distraught, the kid wanders away, finally conceding defeat. Starscream laughs, momentarily thinks better of it, and finally wishes the surprised kid a Merry Christmas.
*As far as American Marvel continuity goes, Starscream was sealed in a capsule after getting fragged by Omega Supreme, and wasn't up and about again until Ratbat had him liberated in time for the Underbase Saga. Marvel UK, however, had Screamer awaken during Target 2006 as a result of a simple mechanical error in his capsule not being caught; Kup, Hot Rod and Blurr sealed him back up at the end of that story, to return the status quo so it wouldn't interfere with any further US stories, and then this issue came along - which makes it appear that they just left the capsule lying in a field. Starscream drops off the board after this story until the Underbase Saga, when he just chooses to hook up with Ratbat for convenience's sake, rather than having been freed by him.

*Grimlock shows up in Santa Clause's costume, opening a letter with his energo-sword in the letters page "Grim Grams Column".
The bad dudes finally find the Autobot base! ...And the one to do it is Sky-Byte? Frankly, this hoss is amazed at the drastic change in plot!

Synopsis
After recalibrating his spark energy in the Decepticons to turn them into loyal servants, Galvatron puts Sky-Byte in command of the next mission; and in command of the now loyal Decepticons.

So Sky-Byte goes out to follow Koji wherever he goes, in hopes that he will eventually lead him to the Autobot base. Of course, he does, and Sky-Byte tells Galvatron that the base is somewhere inside the parking structure. And that parking's only free for the first 20 minutes, and he needs some quarters.

Down at the Autobot base, Side Burn is all up in Cerebros face, telling him that he's an Autobot, and needs to help protect Earth. Then suddenly, Cerebros activates and explains how Fortress Maximus and he function. X-Brawn promptly points out the flaws in the system, right before the Decepticons attack the parking structure.

The Autobots take evasive actions and use their 'Oh crap the bad dudes found our pad' plan, which involves all the Autobots going to one area and hiding, while Optimus leads the Decepticons and Predacons to that area with Cerebros via a different route. Sky-Byte thinks he's cornered Optimus, but upon further observation he discovers that Optimus actually led him and the Decepticons into a trap. Every single Autobot is there, and Sky-Byte's like: "Crap."
There's a lake nearby, where nobody seems to notice the huge alien watercraft that is Galvatron just floating there amidst the swan paddle boats. That's also where our dear friend Kelly is. She sees a couple Autobots, and tries to ignore them by paddling away.

After Sky-Byte figures out he's traped, Mega...I mean Galvatron pops out from hiding and anounces his master plan to control Fortress Maximus. Then he brings his huge command center thing out and sends a bevy of bombs onto the Autobots. The Predacons promptly hide behind some rocks, and the two and a half long episode battle begins.

Ultra Magnus shows up, and he and Optimus form Omega Prime. Landfill forms and tries to make the first blow, but gets blown apart. Despite this, Omega Prime still calls Wedge 'Landfill'. But nobody seems to notice or care. Rail Racer tries to shoot the command center in the butt, but gets blown back by ass-rockets. Then Wedge tries to attack the center all by himself, running and ranting about how he has the spark of an Autobot, but gets blown back by more ass-rockets. But his courage is not wasted, as it activates Fortress Maximus.

Galvatron transforms into hand mode, and we soon discover that hand mode isn't only useful for catching doctors, it's also good for linking with huge purple command centers and fighting gigantic fortresses.
Anyway, Fortress Maximus and Galva-command center duke it out, but in the end, Maximus knocks Galvatron to the ground.
And there was much rejoicing.
But not for long, because when there's twitching involved, you know something's up.
