The '''Dancitron''' was a a popular dance club in [[New York City]], frequented by people with hilariously ugly clothing. Its music selection ranged all the way from "[[Cold Slither]]" to big-band music... and that's it. Just those two pieces of music.

[[Image:Auto-bop 4.jpg|left|thumb|Seriously, the 80s looked exactly like this.]]

It was also a front for some kind of a Decepticon plot, courtesy of [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]]. They used Soundwave's abilities to hypnotize patrons into building something large and mysterious. (How the housewives and businessmen that got hyp-mo-tised got to Dancitron in the first place is unknown.) As luck would have it, [[Raoul]] discovered that the hypnotism could be broken by getting its victims slightly wet once, forever immunizing the victim.

[[Image:auto-bop_2.jpg|right|thumb|The audience is now deaf.]]

Dancitron was later destroyed as a result of a battle between Soundwave and [[Blaster]], when the latter used the trumpet-speakers from the comically-huge speaker system to boost his voulme up to eleven. Hundred. Eleven hundred.

It wasn't a very good plan.
[[Image:Starscreamg1.jpg|thumb|right|300px|Let me guess. You're gonna attempt to overthrow Megatron, fail, cry, then repeat the cycle.]]

'''Starscream''' is the treacherous Decepticon Air Commander. He's famous not only for his incredible skill, but also for his limitless (and troublesome) ambition. Starscream believes that he is more suited for command than Decepticon Leader [[Megatron_(G1)|Megatron]]. Thankfully for Megatron, Starscream's mutinous, power-grabbing plots are almost always transparent, and he can never muster up enough patience to complete a grandiose power play. Despite his constant failures, Starscream believes it is only a matter of time before he prevails -- his destiny is inevitable.

Unlike most Transformers, he has a mutant, indestructible [[Spark]]. His life-force cannot be destroyed and can persist even without a body to contain it. However, there is no indication that Starscream (or anybody else) was aware of this fact prior to his destruction.
===Marvel Comics continuity===
====Generation 1====
''(Note: Events from the UK-only comic stories are in italics.)''

[[Image:Starscream uscomics2.png|thumb|left| What do the fangirls '''see''' in this jerk?]]

Starscream helped invade the [[Ark]], got deactivated. Woke up, questioned Megatron, got deactivated. Fought Omega Supreme, got deactivated. Was mysteriously active when meeting [[Cobra]]. Rescued by [[Ratbat]]'s forces on the Moon, Starscream later discovered the story of the powerful [[Underbase]]. He then set about a chain of systematic betrayals in order to gain access to that power. He set loose [[Buster Witwicky]], whom the Decepticons had been holding prisoner, with equipment that would lure the Autobots to the Decepticon's [[Antarctica]] base. The ensuing battle served to distract his fellow Decepticons as he then stole a ship from [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]] to look for the Underbase.

Upon finding it, he began absorbing its power but was unable to finish the task as he was interrupted by Ratbat's ship, piloted by a temporary Autobot/Decepticon alliance. Starscream however survived, thanks to the power he absorbed. After throwing Scorponok's ship at Ratbat's, he loudly proclaimed "I go now to destroy the cities of [[New York]], [[Tokyo]], and [[Buenos Aires]]!"

The Autobots and Decepticons traveled to those locations to try and stop Starscream, but they ultimately failed, as a massive amount of the Transformers active on Earth were badly damaged and incapacitated by Starscream's Underbase-powered rampage. The [[Aerialbot|Aerialbots]], [[Jetfire (G1)|Jetfire]], [[Bluestreak]], [[Brawn]], [[Gears]], [[Goldbug]], [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]], [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]], [[Hound]], [[Jazz]], the [[Seacon (G1)|Seacons]], and [[Blaster]] were offlined in New York, although Ratbat escaped. The [[Throttlebot|Throttlebots]], [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]], [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]], the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] (including [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]]), and the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]], were decimated in Tokyo, though Scorponok left before he was destroyed as well. Finally, in Buenos Aires, Starscream wiped out [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]], [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]], [[Octane]], [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]], [[Blitzwing]], the [[Technobot|Technobots]], the [[Terrorcon (G1)|Terrorcons]], [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]], and [[Soundwave]]. [[Fortress Maximus]] won a reprieve in that battle when Starscream left the fight after intercepting a radio transmission.

Rediscovering the Underbase, Starscream attempted to finish absorbing its power, only to have it overwhelm him which resulted in his destruction.

[[Image:ZombieScream1.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Braaaiiiinnnssss!]]

''[[Dreadwind (G1)|Dreadwind]] and [[Darkwing]] were sent by Megatron to reclaim Starscream's charred corpse on planet Earth. Starscream's remains were possessed by the essence of the Underbase and went on a psychotic rampage, nearly killing [[Dr. Susan Hoffman]] and her [[Dr. Susan Hoffman#Dr. Hoffman's Assistants|Assistants]]. The Underbase eventually realized it was acting insane and regained control, but as soon as it did, Dreadwind and Darkwing siphoned all the power out of it and Starscream's corpse returned to being an inanimate pile of scrap which the pair quickly collected.'' {{storylink|Race with the Devil}}

Starscream's remains were delivered to Megatron, who kidnapped [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] to rebuild Starscream with a powerful [[Pretender]] shell. {{storylink|Resurrection Gambit!}} Megatron ordered Ratchet to wipe Starscream's mind, so Starscream would wreak havoc on Earth among the Decepticons (led by [[Scorponok (G1)]]) and Optimus Prime. Ratchet, however, let his true mind to be only suppressed. One good blast caused enough pain to revive the real Starscream. Completely outmatched, he surrendered and begged Scorponok for forgiveness.

''Briefly after becoming a Pretender, Starscream began to wallow in self-pity, believing that all the other Decepticons considered him a joke for his many failed take-over attempts and defeats. His self-esteem crumbled every time the other Decepticons refused to speak to him or spoke about him behind his back. In reality, the other Decepticons were terribly frightened of Starscream (thanks to that whole Underbase thing) and were avoiding him so they wouldn't be killed. Starscream sulked about it for a while until he defeated and captured a few Autobots and his confidence began to return. ''

Starscream fled [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] with [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] in the [[Ark]] after [[Unicron]]'s assault. Shockwave and Starscream found Megatron and Ratchet awakening from the [[Nucleon]], both very confused and addled due to their mind-link. Ratchet collected enough sanity to direct one of Starscream's null-rays into the Nucleon, causing enough of a chain reaction to send the Ark into a crash-landing on Earth, once again resulting in Starscream's deactivation.

====Generation 2====
[[Image:Starscream uscomics.png|thumb|right|200px|"I am only saving you so that I may punish you later."]]

Megatron revitalized Starscream who then, predictably, betrayed Megatron and the Decepticons once again. This time by giving [[Jhiaxus]] and his troops information that allowed them to take control of the Decepticon's [[Warworld]]. Starscream then double-crossed Jhiaxus, stole the [[Creation Matrix]] (which Megatron had stolen from Prime earlier) and used its powers to merge himself with the Warworld, becoming an unstoppable force of destruction. As Optimus Prime and Megatron entered the possessed ship to try and stop him, Starscream discovered firsthand the dangers of stealing the Matrix as it rewrote his programming to better suit its own tastes. As a result, Starscream soon became a snow-white boy scout with no mounted weapons that would never hurt a fly and went out of his way to help old ladies across the street. (More or less.)

He fervently hopes the effect is only temporary.

===Animated continuity===
'''Voice Actor:''' [[Chris Latta]] (US), [[Hirotaka Suzuoki]] (Japan)

Starscream was the Decepticons' second-in-command. He was rash, boastful, cowardly, and even whiney. Millions of years before the war between Autobots and Decepticons would force both sides off Cybertron, Starscream was not a warrior but rather a scientist. He and his colleague [[Skyfire]] were exploring an unnamed planet - the ancient [[Earth]] - when severe atmospheric conditions separated the two friends. Starscream circled the globe looking for Skyfire, but he never found his colleague. After the outbreak of war, Starscream and his fellow Decepticons would become entombed on the same alien world for four million years before emerging to continue their battle on Earth, with Starscream reformatted as a terrestrial F-15 fighter jet.

[[Image:ChokingOutTheBeyotch.jpg|left|thumb|200px|Unfortunately, Starscream forgot the safeword.]]

Starscream's rash and spiteful actions led to the resurrection of the Autobots on Earth, when a blast intended to trap the Autobots there forever caused Optimus Prime to fall into the life giving rays of Teletraan-I, who soon had all his fellow Autobots ready for action again. Starscream would always demand action rather than waste time with planning, often calling Megatron a coward or taking action himself without waiting for the order. Needless to say, this got him nearly killed by Megatron on more than one occasion.

Starscream's status probably came from the fact he had command over the other [[Seeker|Jet Fighter Decepticons]], which formed pretty much 50% of the entire Decepticon force at the time of the first and second seasons. Megatron, very desperate for troops (Especially ones who were so predictable), kept Starscream around.

Starscream's ambition was also great, and often sought to take command away from Megatron. One such attempt was to challenge him to a duel, and shoot him in the back when he turned away laughing. His "Victory" here was short lived, as Megatron was just stunned, shot Starscream, and banished him from his forces. This led Starscream to "create" the [[Combaticon]]s, from a bunch of wrecked army vehicles he found on the island he was deserted on, and some Decepticon "Brains" he stole from the Decepticon Prison. Megatron let him, and his newly formed army, back into the Decepticons soon afterwards, despite the fact they were all Decepticon outcasts and criminals.

Starscream's thirst for leadership led to his death in ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', when, during the Decepticon's dramatic siege on [[Autobot City]], Megatron would fight his final battle with Optimus Prime. By the end of it, the Decepticon leader was battered beyond repair, left on the verge of stasis lock. Starscream, who if nothing else can see an opportunity in every situation, took advantage of this moment of weakness to rally the healthy Decepticons that remained after the battle, ejecting the "dead weight" of his wounded former comrades into space. Starscream, with transparent satisfaction, threw Megatron out personally, before closing the door on that part of Transformers history and beginning an inter-Decepticon brawl that would eventually place him at the head of the ranks.

Starscream couldn't have known, of course, that Megatron would be found and reshaped by the godlike [[Unicron]] before his Spark faded completely. Reborn as [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], he made it his first order of business to take back what Starscream had taken, interrupting the pompous and overblown coronation Starscream had set up for himself and killing him with a single, terrible blast, likely setting a record for the shortest reign in Decepticon history.

[[Image:SSBQ.jpg||right|320px|thumb|Starscream had a little accident at the Decepticon BBQ]]

This was not the end, however, as his ghost came back, with "cunning" schemes. First he possessed [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], and handed Galvatron over to [[Rodimus Prime]]. Rodmius didn't kill or even imprison Galvatron however, and he came back angered, and shot his second in command, not realizing he had not been himself. Starscream had already found a new host in [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] by this time, whom he used in his next "master plan". This one involved making deals with Unicron, who requested Starscream help him find new body parts, in return for a new body for himself. Starscream followed his orders exactly, until his host ran off before his could connect Unicron's head to Cybertron as a new body. This is where Starscream showed his "true cunning", stating that if Unicron wanted him to connect him to his new Planet, he would have to give him his new body first. Unicron did so, repeating his request to finish connecting his head to his new body, however Starscream turned on him immediately, telling him mockingly to do it himself. At this point, the Autobots set off a load of explosives, unaware of these turn of events, that sent Starscream, in his new body, spinning out of control through space, past Galvatron and his crew (Galvatron took this chance to fire at what he thought was a ghost), and never to be seen again.

One last thing to note is Cyclonus's line after the last glimpse of Starscream: "Hey, since when have ghosts spun out of control through space?"

====Japanese manga====

[[Image:StarscreamGhost.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Starscream's Ghost being evicted by his landlord.]]

Between the events of "Starscream's Ghost" and "Ghost in the Machine" the 5th issue of the Transformers 2010 manga (simply called "The Transformer") takes place. In this story, Starscream's ghost teams up with the [[Quintesson|Quintessons]] who build him a powerful new body. The new body, equipped with attacks such as "Right Arm Destron Gun" and the "Revolver Laser", was created using a combination of Optimus Prime's and Megatron's designs. The result is [[Guiltar]].

[[Image:Guiltor-Gun.jpg|left|250px|thumb|Guiltor, preparing to complete the preparation for completion.]]

Guiltar joins the Decepticons and quickly becomes Galvatron's right-hand man (literally, in like, 5 seconds). Galvatron tricks Rodimus Prime into engaging him in a one-on-one battle in which Guiltar fakes defeat. When Rodimus least suspects it, Guiltar attacks and lays the smackdown. Galvatron compliments Guiltar on his power and loyalty, and instinctively, Guiltar beats the crap out of Galvatron and declares his ambition to take-over the Decepticons. Rodimus Prime and Galvatron call a truce and join forces to defeat Guiltar. They wreck him something fierce, destroying his body and forcing Starscream's ghost out. They then end the truce and go about their business.
Little was known about Starscream among the [[Maximal]]s, as the [[Maximal Elder]]s had classified most of his history. However, [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]], a student of military history, was fimiliar with Starscream's history of deciet and betrayal. It is possible that [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] was also aware of his history, as he ordered [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]] to keep him eye on him.

Starscream's ghost traveled through time and space to the prehistoric earth of the [[Beast Wars]], where he possessed [[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]]'s body during an electrical storm. He ingratiated himself with Megatron, claiming that he had been destroyed by [[Unicron]] while protecting [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]]. After leading a successful raid on the [[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]], he was left in command of the captured Maximal ship, along with [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] and Scorponok, the former of whom he took as his 'protégé'. When the defeated Maximals surrendered to him, he took Dinobot and [[Optimus Primal (BW)|Optimus Primal]] hostage and ordered the remaining Maximals to attack the [[Darkside]] - Scorponok objected, but he was very forcefully overruled. Shortly after the attack began, the two captive Maximals broke out and drove the Predacons out of the Axalon. Starscream fled, pursued by Primal, and abandoned Blackarachnia to her fate. After a spirited chase, Primal cornered Starscream at an [[energon]] deposit, paralyzing him. As he tried to bargain his way out of his predicament, his vengeful ex-partner Blackarachnia detonated the energon, blowing Waspinator to scrap and forcing Starscream's spark out of his body.

Adrift in space once more, Starscream's ghost screamed vengeance into the void...
When [[Megatron (BW)|Beast Megatron]] traveled back in time to modern day [[Earth]] in search of [[solitarium]], he immediately recruited Starscream to his cause. Starscream went head to head with another time-displaced transformer, [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]] only to find himself defeated once Optimus Prime arrived as back-up. Beast Megatron, arriving on [[Smokesniper]], saved Starscream from a crashing into the ground but quickly chucked him aside after lamenting over the Decepticon's worthlessness.

Later, Beast Megatron discovered a large deposit of solitarium beneath [[New York City]] and ordered the Decepticons to tear the city apart. Starscream, Smokesniper, [[Gigant Bomb]] and [[Wingstun]] did just that, blowing up buildings and razing a good portion of the Big Apple. Starscream was then shot out of the sky by another time-displaced Autobot, [[Reverse Convoy]]. Reverse Convoy quickly gained the trust of the other Autobots after being seen blasting Starscream. 10 seconds later, Reverse Convoy reveals himself as the original Megatron, now going by the name [[Megatron (G1)|Rebirth Megatron]]. Makes sense.

===IDW comics continuity===

Starscream is the leader of a Decepticon insurgent cell that has operated covertly on Earth for at least four years, working to destabilize Earth's governing organizations and create global anarchy. However, since the discovery of the mysterious, Energon-like substance, [[Ore-13]], Starscream has stepped outside standard procedure, establishing a second command bunker in [[Oregon]] above a richer seam of the ore than the one in [[Nebraska]] and ordering [[Blitzwing (G1)|Blitzwing]] and [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]] to cover his tracks. Starscream intended to use Ore-13 to challenge [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] for leadership of the Decepticons, but when the moment of truth finally arrived, the energy source proved insufficient to destroy the Decepticon leader, and Megatron blasted Starscream with his fusion cannon at point blank range, virtually obliterating him. It is unclear whether or not Starscream will recover, as Megatron told the other Decepticons, "See to the remains. If he lives, then I'll decide what to do with him."
In this mode he is armed with two cluster bombs, essentially shortened projects made to resemble (somewhat) the drop tanks that a real F-15 might carry. There are numerous minor construction variations on this mold, common for most of the ''Diaclone''-based Transformers.

: To transform Starscream, one must essentially take most of his plane parts off and transform his body, then reattach his plane parts on again. In robot mode, the cluster bomb projectiles are replaced with long 'null rays''.

: The first reissue of Starscream was practically identical to the original toy, and was released by [[Takara]] in Japan in 2001.

: Starscream was reissued in normal colours for Hasbro's Commemorative Reissue line in 2003. The release had remolded elongated missiles and launchers as to comply with current US toy safety laws.

: Starscream's Transformer Collection reissue from 2003 was redecoed into show-accurate colours, and came with retooled fists to hold a new miniature Megatron gun mode accessory. An [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] fist that could hold the gun was also included, as was a DVD.

: This mold is [[redeco]]ed and [[retool]]ed into [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]], [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]], [[Sunstorm (G1)|Sunstorm]], [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] and [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]].

:Starscream was released as a [[Classic Pretender]] with a human shell of a badly dressed man. The inner robot was a simplified version of the original toy, that transformed into an almost [[superdeformed]] F-15 fighter. His arms, legs and rear wing assemblies were all cast in blue plastic, with the latter also serving as dual laser weapons in robot mode.

:The inner robot of Pretender Starscream was also sold separately as a K-Mart [[exclusive]] "[[Legends (G1)|Legends]]" figure, and was released with Legends [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]], [[Jazz]], and [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] in a Japanese giftset the same year.

: ''Action Master'' Starscream is a non-transforming action figure based loosely on his cartoon appearance but using a colour scheme derived from the Pretender toy. His main accessory is the [[Attack Jet]], a small personal attack craft that Starscream can set astride like a motorcycle. The Attack Jet rolls on three small wheels, and can transform into a gun emplacement.
:Starscream's ''Generation 2'' release was a [[retool]] of his original toy with new missiles, launchers, and a sound box. : Starscream's ''[[Robot Masters]]'' toy is a re-imagining of the original toy, designed to be closer to the animation model, with greater poseability and integrated parts that did not require detachment during transformation (with the exception of his null-ray blasters). After re-engineering the design to stay roughly in one piece during transformation, Takara then gave him chromed missile pods that attach to his chestplate. Although not his usual choice of weapon, these are show-accurate: Starscream used them once in the episode "Fire On The Mountain" to attack [[Trailbreaker]] and [[Brawn]].
===Masterpiece===
* '''Starscream''' (2006)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''MP-3'''
[[Image:MasterpieceStarscream_toy.jpg|right|thumb|200px|And the fandom complained (and rejoiced)]]

: ''Masterpiece'' Starscream is a high-quality, superbly detailed collectable Transformer toy. He transforms into a mostly accurate F-15E Eagle, with weapons options ranging from a rack of Sidewinder missiles to his trademark null ray cannons. In robot mode he is a highly detailed, well-articulated, yet stylized version of his original robot mode. His chest turbines flip up to reveal a bank of missiles each, and his face can be rotated so as to display either a stern or a smirking face.

:He comes with a small figurine of [[Doctor Arkeville]], his partner-in-crime for several early episodes of Generation 1; a display stand that can be used in both fighter and jet modes; and an extensive sheet of sticker decals, including variously sized Decepticon symbols, squadron numbers and squadron markings, including one of [[Waspinator]]!

: ''Masterpiece'' Starscream was the second all-new sculpt in the ''Masterpiece'' series of toys, and was envisioned as the finest toy representation of the original Starscream ever created. To this end, famed Japanese mecha designer (and former Diaclone toy designer) [[Shoji Kawamori]] was recruited to oversee the design and engineering of this toy. The first prototype design was essentially a much more complex version of the original toy, based upon his cartoon and recent comic appearances, with a much more accurate F-15 Eagle fighter mode. However, Kawamori felt the design could be improved, particularly the details and underside of the fighter mode, as he did not want what would have basically been a new version of the old toy.

: Based on Kawamori's suggestions, a new prototype design was made, with major structures located in his legs now moved up to his hips (though they can be detached and put on his legs), with his transformation and design streamlined to create an even more realistic F-15 design. Even so, Kawamori was still unhappy with the amount of robotic parts visible underneath the plane, but conceded that too many changes would essentially not make the toy look like Starscream in robot mode.

: On his control art, there are pictures of Starscream that have him wearing his Decepticon Crown of Leadership, as seen in the coronation scene of the original animated movie. On the toy itself, his head and shoulders have notches for parts to attach to, suggesting that TakaraTomy have reserved Starscream's coronation parts for a later release of this toy.

: Oddly, Starscream's fighter colour scheme is inaccurate to real F-15E hull colours (Gunship Gray, colour code FS 36118) , in that it has more of a green-blue tinge, which has made collectors wonder why TakaraTomy bothered changing Starscream's colours in the first place, especially as Starscream's original pale grey is ''very'' close match to FS 36375, the main grey used on real F-15s of the 1980s. Additionally, his missiles are painted in the wrong colours (they should be the same grey) and are mounted sideways on their pylons, which is why they only have three fins on the back instead of four - they couldn't fit the fourth fin as they mounted the missiles themselves incorrectly.

: A Wal-Mart exclusive, Hasbro's release of ''Masterpiece'' Starscream has been redecoed ''extensively'' to resemble the animation model of Starscream, down to the orange canopy and the grey nosecone (as opposed to the original toy's blue). In an effort to bring out detail in the sculpt, he has also been given an extensive paint wash and a rather excessive carbon scoring/weathering deco. Starsscream comes with the same accessories included in the Takara release of this toy, including a display stand, sidewinder missiles and a small figurine of Doctor Arkeville.

: As of writing it is unknown if he will include the decal sheet that was included with the Takara release of Starscream, or share the structural improvements made on ''Masterpiece'' Skywarp.

===Classics===
* '''Starscream''' (Deluxe, 2006)
[[Image:ClassicsStarscream_toy.jpg|right|thumb|200px|My fellow Decepticons. It is with a heavy heart that I must declare that you are all morons!]]

: ''Classics'' Starscream is a faithful reproduction of his original toy, but with modern standards of toy engineering, transformation, sculpting detail and articulation. He still transforms into an F-15 Eagle, but has the nose of an F-14 Tomcat fighter jet. His colour scheme is inspired by photolab-edited photographs of the prototype F-15 Eagle, as the original photos and the actual colours of the prototype fighter were actually sky blue with bright orange markings.

: In robot mode, Starscream is essentially a very detailed version of his cartoon robot mode, with many design elements that would also find their way into Masterpiece Starscream. He is armed with two (overly large) null-ray missile launchers, which are so large that they restrict his arm movement due to them bumping into his wings.

: Later versions of Starscream saw a [[retool]] in the jet intake area first seen on Classics [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]]. The slope of his shoulders was decreased, and a rectangle added to the vertical area, making the number now five instead of four. This version of Starscream is the harder to find of the two. This retooled version was used for Classics Skywarp, [[Ramjet(G1)|Ramjet]], [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]], [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]], and [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]].

[[Image:TitaniumRM_Starscream.jpg|left|thumb|100px|Stop, in the name of love...]]

: Released in wave 2, the first ''[[Titanium]]'' Starscream is a small, non-transforming die-cast metal figurine, based upon his Generation 1 cartoon appearances. He is sculpted holding Megatron in gun mode in his left hand, and holding up is palm outward with his right, while using his jets to fly up. EXCITEMENT.

: This mold was also used to make Thundercracker.
: War Within Starscream is a redeco of "War Within" Thundercracker (talk about irony). He transforms into a Cybertronian 'tetrajet', as re-imagined by [[Don Figueroa]]. As with all 6-inch Titanium Cybertron Heroes, he is constructed mostly of fully painted die-cast metal.
===Heroes of Cybertron===
:The ''Heroes of Cybertron'' PVC figurine line is an adaptation by Hasbro of Takara's own ''Super Collection Figure'' line. The main differences between the two lines is that Hasbro cast Autobot and Decepticon figures in clear blue or clear red PVC respectively, then completely painted the figurines. This allowed the eyes to 'glow' when placed in front of the light source.

==Trivia==
* In the French dub of Transformers: The Movie, Starscream (along with [[Shrapnel]]) inexplicably became a woman. This change, however, was only for the movie, as it used a different dubbing team from the cartoon. Most likely, the movie's French dubbing team mistook Starscream's rather high-pitched voice for a woman's voice.
:''Starscream is a [[Decepticon]] in the [[Generation 1]] [[continuity family]].''

====Generation 1====

''[[Dreadwind (G1)|Dreadwind]] and [[Darkwing]] were sent by Megatron to reclaim Starscream's charred corpse on planet Earth. Starscream's remains were possessed by the essence of the Underbase and went on a psychotic rampage, nearly killing [[Dr. Susan Hoffman]] and her [[Dr. Susan Hoffman#Dr. Hoffman's Assistants|Assistants]]. The Underbase eventually realized it was acting insane and regained control, but as soon as it did, Dreadwind and Darkwing siphoned all the power out of it and Starscream's corpse returned to being an inanimate pile of scrap which the pair quickly collected.'' {{storylink|Race with the Devil}}

====Generation 2====

===Animated continuity===

====Japanese manga====

Discovering that it could not transfer itself to the bodies of other Transformers with [[spark|souls]], it forced Atari to seek out the twisted [[Doctor Arkeville]], who built it a new body converted from a stolen fighter jet. : ''(Note: For some reason, the stats on Skywarp's, Starscream's and Thundercracker's tech specs were switched around. Starscream was given Thundercracker's numbers.)''

: Starscream's first toy was taken from the ''[[Diaclone]]'' line, transforming into an F-15 Eagle fighter jet.

The inner robot was a simplified version of the original toy, that transformed into an almost [[superdeformed]] F-15 fighter. His arms, legs and rear wing assemblies were all cast in blue plastic, with the latter also serving as dual laser weapons in robot mode.
: ''Action Master'' Starscream is a non-transforming action figure based loosely on his cartoon appearance but using a colour scheme derived from the Pretender toy. His main accessory is the [[Attack Jet]], a small personal attack craft that Starscream can set astride like a motorcycle. : An all-clear Starscream was made for the ''Transformers: Generations'' Lucky Draw contest. This figure was limited to 5 pieces, making it one of the rarest TFs in the world. Four of the winners are still unknown, but the fifth figure is currently owned by [http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/toyreview.php?review=712 Transformers @ The Moon.] Secret Starscream differs from Ghost Starscream in that its plastic parts are completely clear and not color tinted.

:Starscream's ''Generation 2'' release was a [[retool]] of his original toy with new missiles, launchers, and a sound box. His colours are essentially a combination of G1 Ramjet, his own original colours, and a replacement of his dark blue plastic with light grey.

: Starscream's Machine Wars release was a recolour of the Predator [[Skyquake]] with fewer missiles, no hand-held projectile launcher, and most of the gimmicks removed. He transforms into a large bomber based vaguely upon an SR-71 Blackbird. He still retains his "carpet bombing" gimmick, a rolling drum that drops the his missiles from each wing.

===Masterpiece===
* '''Starscream''' (2006)

* '''Starscream''' (2007)

[[Image:Hasbro_Masterpiece_Starscream_toy.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Just so you know, the hips [[kibble]] can be detached an pluged to the legs (or just be tossed away). So stop asking for the previous mold, you have your Perfect Starscream]]

===Classics===
* '''Starscream''' (Deluxe, 2006)

The main differences between the two lines is that Hasbro cast Autobot and Decepticon figures in clear blue or clear red PVC respectively, then completely painted the figurines. This allowed the eyes to 'glow' when placed in front of the light source.

==Trivia==

'''Unicron''' is the eternal arch-enemy of his twin brother [[Primus]]. He is known as the Dark God, the Chaos Bringer, the Planet Eater, and he is dedicated to consuming the multiverse. His goal is to bring an end to the annoying creation boasting independence around him, and find peace by becoming the living center of a swirling, infinite torrent of nothingness at the end of all things.

To undertake this seemingly overwhelming task, Unicron is able to travel across realities at will, a meandering plague upon existence itself. <ref>Titanium Series 3" Unicron profile</ref> Integrated into his systems are incomprehensible quantum computers which calculate probabilities forward and backwards in time, in perpetuity, giving his processors an everchanging, evolving map of the multiverse.<ref>Profile, Transformers Fan Club newsletter, Aug/Sept 06</ref>

The only thing that he fears is Primus' essence, contained inside the [[Matrix of Leadership]].

Frequently, Unicron will make deals with lesser beings, giving them vast new powers in exchange for their servitude. These minions are sometimes stripped entirely of their free will, but others follow him willingly. No matter their intent, Unicron's plans ultimately call for their consumption as well.

==In the beginning==

[[Image:Unicron_original.jpg|thumb|left|Behold! My +1 Mace!]]

Before the dawn of time, Order and Chaos existed within an extradimensional entity known as the [[One]]. He created twin astral beings to reign over the cosmos: Primus and Unicron. Their nature differed, as Primus' lifeforce (aka the [[Allspark (dimension)|Allspark]]) was a ''multiversal singularity''; existing across all Transformers realities at once (see note below), whereas Unicron existed in only one dimension at a time but could travel relatively freely between them. Primus was the Lord of Light and Order, and Unicron, the Lord of Darkness and Chaos. Unicron sought to devour everything that exists and become one with [[The Void]] at the end of all things.

''Many places in the multiverse, the true history of The One has been obscured by a myth stating that Unicron was one of the [[Lords of Chaos]] from the previous universe and has no intrinsic connection to Primus.

In combat, Primus was no match for Unicron. But Primus did manage to trap both his and Unicron's essences inside metallic planetoids. Over time, they learned to shape these prisons. Unicron formed his into [[Scale|a planet]] able to not only devour all in its path, but also capable of Transforming into a likeness of his old self. Primus, meanwhile became the mechanical planet of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Knowing that his ancient enemy still lived, Primus created the [[13 original Transformers]] from the material of the newly created planet. To the very first of these 13, named [[Prima]], Primus bestowed the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]], containing his essence. These Transformers would, in time, grow strong in number, knowledge, and power, and be able to defeat Unicron.

==War of the balance==

The first conflict between Primus and Unicron occurred shortly after the creation of the first 13 Transformers. One of the original 13, who would ever afterwards be known as the [[Fallen]], betrayed Primus and became an acolyte of Unicron. Many of the first 13 were destroyed in this great battle before Unicron and the Fallen were sucked into a [[black hole]] and sealed away in a extra-dimensional limbo.

The two brothers shared a mental link. So long as Primus hid himself in slumber, so did Unicron also sleep. Their war ended, for a time, in stalemate.

[[Image:Primalscream.jpg|right|thumb|KHAAAAAN!]]

Eventually, in one version of Generation 1 continuity [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz]], and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] found themselves transported to the center of [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]]. In a battle with [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]]'s [[Pretender]]s, a laser blast ricocheted off Grimlock and struck the essence of the sleeping Primus, causing a multiverse-shaking Primal Scream that woke Unicron and alerted him to Primus' location.

The battle between Primus and Unicron began anew. Though Unicron would sometimes be defeated, this is always temporary, and there is a whole multiverse of realities to consume. When Unicron is destroyed in one reality, he will travel to another, ready to eat again. Primus will always be waiting, hoping to incapacitate Unicron and preserve existence.

It has been suggested that both of them are, in fact, necessary for the multiverse to exist in stability.

==The Evolution of the Primus/Unicron Myth ==

The Primus/Unicron backstory has evolved and been rewritten a good number of times since it first originated in the Marvel Comics. The version above is the current iteration, which has slowly solidified across a wide swath of media beginning around the time of [[Armada]]. Before the Primus/Unicron mythos reached its present form it went through several distinct versions in the Marvel G1 Comics and elsewhere.

===Unicron's Story===
The first time we ever heard the Primus/Unicron backstory it in the UK comic continuity, from Unicron himself. After his destruction during the events of ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', his head floated through space and crashed on the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junk]]. There, he enslaved the inhabitants to recreate his old body from their world. When the bount-um... freelance peacekeeping agent [[Death's Head]] challenged him on the astral plane, Unicron shared the story of his origin thusly:

At the dawn of the universe, when Unicron was a primal force of evil, the only one who could stand against him and his [[Dark Armies]] was Primus, Lord of the [[Light Gods]]. (Note the plural.) Primus and his fellow Light Gods stood against Unicron and his Dark Armies. Events then played out roughly as described above.

''(The role of the other Light Gods and Unicron's armies would diminish with each retelling of the story, until the current version where they are alone and have a unique origin. Only one of the other Light Gods was ever named: the [[Chronarchitect]].)''

===The Keeper's Story===
The second time the story was told was in the US book by the [[Keeper]], an ancient mechanoid who guarded Primus's head at the center of Cybertron. This telling mentions that their battle was towards the end of the era of Gods and that Primus and Unicron were the last of their respective pantheons. But Primus had to defeat Unicron before he could take his place with the other gods in the "[[Omniversal Matrix]]".

===Primus' Story===
The third time the story was told was by Primus when he gathered all his children together to prepare for Unicron's coming. Here we learn for the first time that Unicron predated the current universe. Unicron had destroyed the previous universe and then slept peacefully, alone with the void. But he had not been thorough enough and some bits of the "old realms" survived. They reacted and caused The Big Bang. The sentient core of this new universe recognized the threat of Unicron and so created Primus to be his counterpart and guardian of the new creation.

===DK's Story===
The first modern retelling of their origin in the DK Transformers: Ultimate Guide (which tended to focus on the then current Dreamwave continuity) added a new twist with "The One" a self-contained being of balanced Order and Chaos. He was curious and so created Unicron to explore the new-born Universe for him. Then he sub-divided Unicron and created Primus out of him. As Primus achieved consciousness he realized Unicron had become corrupted and was now a force for Chaos. Primus thus took on the role of champion of Order and creation to balance things and protect existence from Unicron.

''(Primus did not exist in the Generation 1 cartoon. There, Cybertron's oldest revealed status was as a factory world of the [[Quintesson]]s who invented the Transformers, and Unicron was a product of the strange, sad little alien [[Primacron]]. This causes some trouble with the later retcon that Primus is a "multiversal singularity" and part of all Transformers universes, though [[Wreckers #3]] did attempt to retcon the Primus mythology into the Quintesson-creation backstory of the original cartoon. [[Simon Furman]] has also stated that he may specifically exclude Primus and Unicron from the IDW comic universe as well, which might be seen as retconning out the previous retcon and rendering Primus as being once again a feature of only "some" Transformer continuities.)''

==Fiction==

===Generation 1===
====Marvel Comics====
''(Note: The recent Primus/Unicron mythology push in the Fun Publications ''Cybertron'' comics places the Marvel Comics story first chronologically among Unicron's history of appearances.)''

After the Primal Scream, Unicron headed directly towards Cybertron. He created three [[Heralds]] to send ahead of him and prepare the Transformers for his arrival: [[Hook, Line, and Sinker]]. He also borrowed a version of Galvatron from another dimension's future in which he was successful in devouring Cybertron.

[[Image:Acolyte_of_unicron.jpg|thumb|100px|right|A Unicron cultist with mask. Or a cosplayer. Same thing.]]

Unicron placed a mental command in some Transformers, generating a cult of Autobots and Decepticons. His worshipers gathered to attack the leader of the two united factions, which had gathered on Cybertron when they sensed Unicron drawing near. Their assassination attempt was defeated with the help of Galvatron, Unicron's wayward herald.

Unicron was so unimaginably large that the sight of him froze both Transformer factions into inaction. Unicron, disappointed that victory was this simple, tore apart the planet's surface. It was only the actions of the kidnapped Galvatron that snapped the Transformers out of their collective terror. Even the united Transformers were unable to hold Unicron off. After being fazed by the [[Neo-Knights|Neo-Knight]] [[Rapture]] and temporarily shorted out by [[Circuit Breaker]], it was [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] who flew towards Unicron and opened the Matrix. The life contained inside caused Unicron to explode. ''(That Circuit Breaker could affect Unicron at all suggests that despite the Dark God's nature and history, his body (at least this one) is ultimately 'standard' technology, albeit of a very powerful nature.)''

''In the timeline of [[Earth-120185]], rather than attack Cybertron in 1990, Unicron made his appearance in 2006, in events similar to ''The Transformers: The Movie''. Destroyed by the power of the Matrix, his head crash-landed on the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junkion]], where he used mind control to force the native [[Junkion]]s to build him a new body out of the planet of Junk. At the beginning of 2008, he pulled [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] and [[Death's Head]] into his thrall and used them to re-ignite the stalemated Cybertronian war in order to keep the Autobots distracted from his activities. Ultimately, however, he was defeated by Death's Head and the Autobots. His head was destroyed, and his mind was sealed within the Matrix. In 2010, he reached out from within the Matrix and took control of [[Rodimus Prime]]'s body, only to be stopped when [[Kup]] ripped the talisman out of his chest, but later still, in 2020, he repeated the trick and succeeded in transforming Rodimus's body into a copy of his own before being forced back. In the far future of 2356, Unicron's essence still resides within the Matrix, steadily withering the struggling body of Rodimus.''

''In at least [[Rhythms of Darkness|one further tangential timeline]], Unicron actually succeeded in consuming Cybertron in 2006 and allowed Galvatron to rule [[Earth]].''

====The Transformers: The Movie====
:''Voice actor:'' ''[[Orson Welles]] (US), [[Mizuho Suzuki]] (Japan)''

[[Image:Unicronplanet.jpg|right|thumb|I see you down there]]In his first documented appearance, Unicron was known as a [[Scale|giant Transformer]] which devoured everything in his path. After the Battle of Autobot City, [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] and several heavily damaged Decepticons (the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticons]] as well as [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]] and [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]]) were dumped in space. Unicron reformatted Megatron into [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] and out of the damaged Decepticons, he created [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and Scourge's [[Sweeps]]. He ordered them to destroy the Matrix.

Galvatron returned with the Matrix, but intended to use it to make Unicron his slave. Unicron ate him. Having already eaten two of Cybertron's [[Moonbase One|moons]], Unicron attacked Cybertron. [[Shockwave]] and the rest of the Decepticons, at the time in control of Cybertron, fought back, but this had little effect. Unicron swallowed many spaceships, and one, which contained the young Autobot [[Hot Rod]] and his comrades, crashed through Unicron's eye. Hot Rod and Galvatron battled deep inside Unicron. Ultimately, Hot Rod was able to retake the Matrix, change into Rodimus Prime, defeat Galvatron, and use the Matrix to destroy Unicron. Unicron's body exploded, though its head remained somewhat intact and orbited Cybertron.
:''Voice actor:'' ''[[Roger C. Carmel]] (US)'', ''[[Toshirō Ishii]] (Japan)''

[[Image:Primacron.jpg|right|thumb|Primacron, the one responsible for Unicron's construction. Thanks ''so much'', Primacron.]]

It was revealed to the [[Primitive]]s by [[Oracle (G1)|the Oracle]] that Unicron was created near the beginning of time by an ancient genius called [[Primacron]], to destroy the universe so he could remake it in his own image. But Unicron decided that he would be the one to rule the universe, not Primacron, and rebelled against his creator, wrecking Primacron's lab, destroying his assistant's body and leaving Primacron himself "broken but alive". Unicron then left, voyaging out into the vast expanse of space. {{storylink|Call of the Primitives}}

[[Image:Unicron_head_orbit.jpg|left|thumb|Incoming message from the [[Big Floating Head|Big, Giant Head]]!]]

His eventual destruction was not the last the Transformers saw of Unicron; the ghost of Starscream reactivated his severed head and entered into a bargain with Unicron, performing three labours in exchange for the restoration of his body. [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and Scourge gathered for Unicron [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]'s eyes (breaking one and replacing it with one from [[Trypticon]]) and Trypticon's [[Transformation Cog]], and then connected his head to Cybertron, which would become Unicron's new body. Starscream demanded that Unicron restore his body so that he could complete the connection; but once Unicron had done so, Starscream double-crossed him and refused to finish the job. Unicron's head was subsequently blown off into space by an explosion instigated by the Autobots.

Later, when searching for a new supply of anti-electrons, the Decepticons ventured to Unicron's head, where Cyclonus and Scourge accidentally awoke the slumbering demi-god. At the same time, Grimlock, who had gained super-intelligence through an infusion of anti-electrons, had constructed the [[Technobot]]s from pieces of Unicron's head, and one of their number, [[Strafe]], severed enough of Unicron's neural connections to shut him back down.

Unlike the comics portrayal, Unicron is shown to be a large transforming machine and not a godlike being.

===Beast era===
====Omega Point====
[[Image:Unicrons_dark_essence.jpg|thumb|left|Even Unicron's crud is evil.]]
Following his destruction in 2006, Unicron's severed lifeforce was displaced in time to Earth's distant past, prior to the Beast Wars. It rested in the pit caused by its own impact, quiescent for many millennia, until found by a Predacon known as the Hunter around the Machine Era.

Taking the name [[Shokaract]], he used this Dark Essence to conquer, ruling over an apocalyptic 32nd Century future.

Due to severe time-travel mischief, the events leading up to Shokaracts's timeline were averted when the Dark Essence fled Earth from the Beast Wars.

====Dark Essence====
[[Image:Matrix_of_conquest.jpg|thumb|right|The Evil Galactic Starfish of Conquest served as a container for Unicron’s power.]]
The Dark Essence possessed only rudimentary intelligence, lacking the full force of Unicron's personality. It appears Unicron's Spark remained with his severed head (which has a back-up spark chamber) in 2005, while his power was displaced in time.

Is it unclear if this displacement was accidental, or represents an attempt by Unicron to preserve his power.

Shokaract contained the Dark Essence within a [[Matrix of Conquest]] from which he drew his powers. This is very similar to the relationship between Primus and the [[Matrix of Leadership]], where The Matrix holds the majority of his power, leaving Primus himself weak. The Matrix of Conquest appears to be unique to Shokaract's timeline branch, and would not exist outside of it.

====Beast Wars II and Neo====
'''Voice actor:''' ''[[Tetsuo Komura]] (Japan)''
[[Image:BWNeo Unicron.JPG|thumb|left|Unicron's show apearance in ''Beast Wars Neo''.]]
After the events of ''The Transformers: The Movie'', Unicron's lifeforce (the green energy seen exploding from his body) raced across time and space until it landed on the distant world of [[Gaia]], riddling itself into the planet's surface. His lifeforce caused many strange phenomenon all over the planet, and was eventually dubbed [[Angolmois]] energy.

It proved to be a powerful energy source, leaving [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] to attempt to harvest the energy for himself. Using his massive spacecraft, the [[Nemesis (BWII)|Nemesis]], he sucked all the the Angolmois energy out of the planet and into the craft. However, after the interference of [[Leo Prime]] and [[Lio Junior]], all the Angolmois energy was sealed into capsules and ejected from the Nemesis as it self-destructed.

[[Big Convoy]] and [[Magmatron]] then raced to collect the Angolmois capsules, as their energy effects were wreaking havoc on planets all over the galaxy. They eventually collected all the capsules only to find themselves attacked by the mysterious and freakish [[Blentron]]s. The Blentrons proved nearly invincible, and stole the capsules from each team. They released the Angolmois energy and allowed it to possess Galvatron's dead body. Unicron was reborn once more.

Unicron then absorbed the last remaining ounce of stray Angolmois energy, the Blentrons, and left to settle his score with Cybertron. The [[Maximal Elder]], [[Great Convoy]], attempted to hold Unicron off with the entire Maximal armada, but Unicron's fiery serpent mode proved too much and he effortlessly destroyed the armada and Great Convoy along with it. Unicron then possessed [[Vector Sigma]], the mother computer of [[Cybertron]], effectively possessing the planet. He then morphed the planet into his new body, fulfilling the goal he originally attempted back in 2006 (or 2010, since this is Japanese continuity).

Unicron then briefly exited Vector Sigma to deal with the last remaining Cybertronian resistance. Big Convoy, his Maximal new recruits, Leo Prime and Magmatron all fought side-by-side against Unicron, but all they managed to do was stall him. Big Convoy then powered up his Big Cannon with his own [[Energon Matrix|Matrix]], transforming it into the Matrix Buster. Big Convoy shot Unicron with the weapon, the powerful blast seemingly destroying the Chaos Bringer. Unicron's spirit was then evicted from Vector Sigma, returning Cybertron to normal.

====Universe====

[[Image:UnicronDeathstarII.jpg|thumb|right|Unicron's ruined body in ''Transformers: Universe''. You can't take the Wreckers anywhere.]]After being defeated by the [[Wreckers]], Unicron floated in ruin. Using what energies he had left, he called Transformers from various corners of the multiverse inside him to do battle. He feasted upon the sparks of the losers, growing ever more powerful. Primus countered this by calling his own army from the multiverse, led by [[Optimus Primal]]. Primal was able to set free the captives inside Unicron and begin a new war between the [[Minions of Unicron]] and the [[Children of Primus]].

''(This war was ended abruptly when, during the final battle, Unicron disappeared from their reality underneath them, sucked away into the [[Unicron Singularity]] in another timestream. See [[#Cybertron|Cybertron]].)''
===Unicron Trilogy===
The [[Unicron Trilogy]], the series of Transformers franchises that includes [[Armada|Armada]], [[Energon (franchise)|Energon]], and [[Cybertron (franchise)|Cybertron]], was so named by Hasbro designer [[Aaron Archer]] because of Unicron's importance in each story.
====Dreamwave Comics continuity====

[[Image:Unicronarmada.jpg|thumb|left|Armada Unicron grasps at...INVISIBLE SANDWICH!]]

=====Armada=====

Unicron sent forth heralds to prepare the Armadaverse for his arrival after having devoured the Cybertron of a previously unseen dimension. His heralds included versions of [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]], [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]].

He also sent the Autobots the near-death [[Optimus Prime (Worlds Collide)|Optimus Prime]] of that other dimension as a forewarning.

Unicron was ultimately defeated by [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Jet Optimus]], the combined form of the Armadaverse's Optimus Prime and [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]], who were infused with extra Mini-Con power. However, he had managed to kidnap [[Airazor (Armada)|Airazor]], [[Cheetor (Armada)|Cheetor]], [[Rhinox (Armada)|Rhinox]] and [[Terrorsaur (Armada)|Terrorsaur]], and would see them forged into new heralds in the interim.

=====Energon=====

[[Alpha Quintesson]] and the [[Terrorcon (Energon)|Terrorcon]]s try to revive Unicron.

''(Note: Due to the sudden demise of [[Dreamwave]], the results of this attempt remain unknown. Presumably, since you are alive and reading this, Unicron did not go on to consume the Omniverse.)''

====Animated continuity====
=====Armada=====
:''Voice Actor:'' ''[[Mark Acheson]] (US), [[Katsumi Chō]] (Japan)''

Disguised as Cybertron's moon, Unicron created the race of small robots known as the [[Mini-Cons]] to increase the ferocity of the Autobot/Decepticon war. When conflict exists, Unicron can feed off the energies released.

When the Mini-Cons found their way to Earth, they were followed by the Autobots and Decepticons. Unicron dispatched his minion [[Sideways]], a mysterious agent that served as the vessel for Unicron's spark in this reality, to carry on his work. Sideways escalated the conflict by manipulating control of the three Mini-Cons weapons; the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]], the [[Skyboom]] shield and the [[Requiem Blaster]]. These weapons were the three keys that were needed to awaken Unicron.

[[Image:ArmadaUnicron02.jpg|thumb|right|200px|The Power Cosmic gives you wrinkles.]]

As Unicron turned on Cybertron, the Mini-Cons broke free of his control and deactivated him, but when [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] then began his final battle with [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]], the hatred and ferocity of the fight awoke Unicron once more.

To end the circle of hate that gave Unicron life, Galvatron allowed himself to be consumed by the monster, and in a brilliant flash of light, Unicron apparently ceased to exist.

=====Energon=====
:''Voice Actor:'' ''[[David Kaye]], [[Mark Acheson]](US), ??? (Japan)''

[[Image:Energon Unicron.jpg|thumb|left|Unicron sported awesome colors during ''Energon''.]]
Unbeknownst to the Autobot heroes, Unicron's body had fallen into a state of decay. Operating at low, almost undetectable energy levels, Unicron was rotting away in what was called the "Graveyard of the Universe". A spark from the past would be enough to change all of this. Alpha-Q, a Terrorcon-related alien being from a far away world, Planet Q, would awaken within the dying giant and discover that Unicron's cells had the ability to restore life, just as it did to create the mini-cons eons before.

Alpha-Q, having had his own homeworld detonated and consumed by Unicron in the past, sought to restore Unicron enough to manipulate his body into restoring the world and galaxy that he lost. Alpha-Q used the cells to restore himself to a suit of armor, as well as create Sparkless drones of his former race to carry out his deed: collect energon. As energon was collected, Unicron grew stronger.

However, Megatron's corpse and spark remained within Unicron, and he slowly siphoned off some of the gathered Energon, allowing him to be reborn in his own new body. Alpha Q jettisoned Unicron's head and escaped in it, while Megatron took over Unicron's body, and continued to gather Energon in order to rebuild Unicron to use as his ultimate weapon. As the climax of this plan neared, a joint attack by Alpha Q, the Autobots and their human allies saw all of Earth's Energon channeled into Unicron's head, which Alpha Q then rammed into Unicron's body.

The positively-charged Energon of Earth reacted with the negatively-charged Energon running through Unicron, tearing open a fissure in reality leading to a new area of space where planets Unicron consumed were recreated, and sustained through the Energon radiated from Unicron's head, which had now become a glowing red sun.

[[Image:Unicron_eats_blizzard.jpg|right|thumb|Unicron should stop eating so many Blizzards.]]
Unicron's body, damaged once more, lay in the dark reaches near the fissure, and the Decepticons began to raid Alpha Q's new planets for the Energon necessary to revive Unicron again. This time, they succeeded, and Megatron directed Unicron's body to retrieve his head, extinguishing the Energon Sun and killing Alpha Q in the process. But the power of Unicron proved too much for Megatron to control, as Unicron began to take over Megatron's body. In the ensuing battle between Unicron and the super-powered Optimus Supreme, Unicron's body was successfully destroyed.

But unbeknownst to anyone, he lived on in two forms: his miniscule Spark, and his consciousness, which lay buried in Megatron's mind. With quiet, subconscious nudging, Unicron led Megatron to a massive reservoir of "[[Super Energon]]" beneath Cybertron's surface, which transformed him into Galvatron upon his first exposure.

After a series of failed battles, Galvatron proceeded to expose himself to the Super Energon once again, and this time grew to a gigantic height. Unicron seized control of his body again for a new vessel and set out to rejoin with his Spark, but a Primus-empowered Optimus Supreme engaged him in battle once more, and drew all of Unicron's consciousness out of Galvatron and sealed it within his own Spark.

Enraged, Galvatron prepared to destroy Unicron's Spark, but it merged with him, enlarging him again, leading to another battle with Optimus Supreme, this time bolstered by the combined energy of all his troops' Sparks. Meanwhile, Primus merged with the Super Energon, creating a foundling sun which arrived at the site of the battle. Taking control of his body for a brief moment, Galvatron made the decision to plunge himself into the infant sun to rid himself of Unicron's posession. The super energon mass, having now recieved Unicron's spark, ignited into a powerful red sun which gave new life to Alpha Q's worlds.

=====Cybertron=====

[[Image:Unicroncybertron.jpg|thumb|left|The Planet-Eater's back, and you're gonna be in trouble...]]
Primus' plan to trap Unicron in the heart of a new sun failed, and instead resulted in a [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] (or Unicron Singularity) that threatened the multiverse. His heralds [[Ramjet (Universe)|Ramjet]] and [[Nemesis Prime (Universe)|Nemesis Prime]] travelled to Cybertron to unleash the [[Dead Matrix]] upon Primus' vulnerable essence.

Vector Prime was able to defeat Ramjet and send him into the black hole in which Unicron was trapped, while [[Sentinel Maximus]] with the help of [[Omega Prime]] was able to stop Nemesis Prime from unleashing the power of the [[Dead Matrix]] on Primus. However, [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] and [[Laserbeak (Cybertron)|Laserbeak]] were able to retrieve the Dead Matrix, and they brought it to Unicron Singularity's Event Horizon. With some adjustments, the Dead Matrix was able to extract Unicron's spark from the black hole, looking much the way it did when it took over Galvatron at the end of Energon, and, after the lifeforce consumed the planet [[Yst]], the Dark God exploded from the remains reborn.

: Unicron from the [[Armada (toyline)|''Armada'' toyline]] is an orange and transparent purple Supreme-size toy that transforms into a planet. It features many Mini-Con [[Powerlinx]] plugs on the planet's rings, and "chomping" jaws activated by moving the mandibles. The packed-in Mini-Con [[Dead End (Armada)|Dead End]] in moon-mode plugs into a specially-shaped socket on Unicron's planet form, just above his gaping maw. Powerlinx plugs on his sides activate the triple spring-loaded missile launchers, which end up on his robot mode legs. In robot mode, he has hidden compartments for Mini-Cons in his robot-mode legs and abdomen. One Powerlinx plug on the back of the robot mode activates blinking eye lights and a cannon that bursts from the chest and shoots a missile. A button on the top of the head also activates the blinking eye lights. Pushing his right hand back slightly into the cuff causes it to light up.

: This toy is notable for being the first "modern" Transformers release in the main line at the $50-price point. Due to his success, other releases like ''Energon'' [[Omega Supreme (Energon)|Omega Supreme]] came into being.

: The [[Takara]] release of Unicron uses a lighter orange, slightly more transparent plastic, and different paint applications than the [[Hasbro]] version.

: This mold was used to make the [[Unicron of Light|Mini-Con doppelganger of Unicron]].

===Energon===

*'''Unicron''' (Supreme, 2004)

: Unicron's ''Armada'' toy was [[redeco]]ed for the [[Energon (toyline)|''Energon'' toyline]], sporting black and transparent orange, with "Energon damage" patterns, representing his shattered and damaged form. All of the gimmicks from the previous version are intact in this one.

: The ''Energon'' packaging shipped with either the orange ''Armada'' Unicron or the black ''Energon'' Unicron inside in early shipments.

*'''Unicron''' (Fast Food Premium, 2004)
[[Image:Happymeal_Unicron.jpg|right|thumb|100px|Unicron will make an unhappy meal of ''you''.]]

: Availble in one of two differnt European-market McDonald's Happy Meal promotions, this Unicron toy is based on ''Energon'' Unicron, being primarily black. It is very small, and the transformation consists of simply opening the planet mode to reveal the robot.

: When his Energon cube is clicked into position, and his button pressed, his body lights up.

===Cybertron===
[[Image:Cybertron_Unicron_toy.jpg|left|thumb|180px|ZERG RUSH KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE]]

*'''Unicron''' (Deluxe, 2006)

: Unicron in the [[Cybertron (toyline)|''Cybertron'' line]] is a Deluxe-class toy that transforms into a futuristic tank. In robot mode he sports a battle-damaged appearance, with his head featuring a skull-like design mimicking the Unicron head that comes with Cybertron Primus. In both tank and robot modes, he features a main cannon with spring-loaded missile launcher, plus plugging a [[Cyber Planet Key]] into his back end upons up a port on his front (which bears a striking similarity to his planet maw) that reveals a (non-firing) triple-barreled cannon. His side-spikes in tank mode can be removed to become hand-weapons in robot mode.

: He comes with a [[Planet X]]-style Cyber Planet Key, with the [[Cyber Key Codes|Key Code]] "'''dgt3'''" on the back.

*'''Cybertron Primus''' (Supreme, 2006)

[[Image:Unicornhead.jpg|left|thumb|100px|right|And you thought YOU had a bad day...]]

: Certain shipments of ''Cybertron''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s Cybertron [[Primus]] toy had a pack-in Unicron head. The head is based on ''Armada'' Unicron's and half of the face stripped away to reveal a robotic "skull". To provide the impression of locomotion, tentacles were added to the base of the head.

: The packaging for this variation of Primus was specifically changed with a callout for the Unicron head. this was supposed to originally be the first version of the Primus toy shipped, and only for a limited time, but both versions ended up shipping simultaneously, leading to some hunting to get the packed-in Uniskull.

*'''Unicron''' (Robot Master, 2006)

: Unicron in the ''[[Titanium Series]]'' line is a 3-inch tall figurine made partially of [[die-cast]] metal, with movable arms. One hand holds what seems to be a moon (or he's going bowling). He comes with a [[Decepticon]] stand as well.

===Unproduced Unicron toys===
[[Image:Neocron.jpg|right|thumb|In crazy, backwards universe, we should've gotten this rather than ''Armada'' Unicron.]]

* Generation 1 Hasbro
:An unproduced toy for Unicron was to have been released in [[Generation 1]]. It was a blue and yellow robot about one foot tall and was able to transform into a planet. It was to have come with a voice chip, and a "planet microphone" to allow owners to speak through the toy. It is very fat. It was only shown on display at [[BotCon 1996]].

* Generation 1 Takara
: Takara was to release a toy similiar to Hasbro's attempt, but it was green and yellow, possessing different paint applications and molding. It also was to come with a base that set up a "planetary system" with Unicron and a moon.

* ''Beast Wars Neo''
: Takara tried again to produce a Unicron toy, only going as far as the resin stage. It was said to be around the size of [[Optimus Primal]], and had several gimmicks, such as a laughing face when the horns were squeezed, and a claw and a drill that were stored in the planet "shell" in robot mode. One hardcopy was shown at the Tokyo Toy Fair.
[[Image:HHUnicron_statue.jpg|right|thumb|100px|Weighs almost as much as the real thing]]

:It was a huge-ass cold-cast porcelain statue based upon the cartoon design of Unicron.

:It was originally a [[BotCon 2002]] [[exclusive]].
[[Image:AAUnicron_statue.jpg|left|thumb|160px|Oh, I see how this works. You say "Behind you!" and I turn around, and while I'm staring at nothing you run away. Well I'm not falling for it!]]

:It's not out yet!

:This statue of Unicron stands 8 ½” tall and is limited to 1,986 pieces (as in 1986, the year the original Transformers movie was released). It also features a smaller statue of Hot Rod standing upon the centerpiece holding the Matrix aloft. Oddly enough, Hot Rod is in his toy colours.

*'''Optimus Prime Vs Unicron''' (2007)

: Packed with a matrix brandishing [[Optimus Prime]], an SD Unicron was made for the Transformers segment of the ''Heroes'' franchise. This version of Unicron is based on his G1 Transformers: The Movie model, except with a more cartoony SD look. He's the devourer of plan... moon... ummm... small pebbles... when they don't give him indigestion.
==Trivia==
[[Image:Model-TheEntity.jpg|thumb|100px|right|Eastercron.]]

* In early preproduction for ''The Transformers: The Movie'', Unicron was referred to as the '''Entity'''.

* A model sheet from later in the movie's preproduction revealed that, at one point, the ''planet'' Unicron would turn into the ''robot'' '''Ingestor'''. This idea was, obviously, dropped before the film's release.
