By 2005, Ultra Magnus was the full-fledged City Commander for [[Autobot City]]. Autobot City was under his authority when Megatron and the Decepticons waged their full-scale attack. Ultra Magnus ordered [[Springer (G1)|Springer]] and [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] to transform it to battle-mode, but it only held the Decepticons off for so long. After the Autobots befriended the [[Junkion]]s, they used their expertise to rebuild Ultra Magnus. Magnus joined the other Autobots in the battle with Unicron on [[Cybertron]] and helped drive the last of the Decepticons from their home planet.

In 2006 (or 2010, if you're Japanese), Magnus ceased his role as a City Commander and became head-adviser to [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus Prime]], the new Supreme Commander of the Autobots and chosen one of the Matrix. He was finally done in by Sixshot's mysterious 7th transformation, "Wingwolf". After his death, Ultra Magnus was placed in a coffin and buried on Earth, the planet he loved so dearly.

By 2005, Ultra Magnus was the full-fledged City Commander for [[Autobot City]]. Autobot City was under his authority when Megatron and the Decepticons waged their full-scale attack. Ultra Magnus ordered [[Springer (G1)|Springer]] and [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] to transform it to battle-mode, but it only held the Decepticons off for so long. In the fight, [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] was mortally wounded and passed the [[Matrix]] of Leadership on to Ultra Magnus, making Magnus the new Supreme Commander of the Autobots.

Autobot City was quickly attacked a second time by [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], the upgraded version of [[Megatron (G1)| Megatron]]. Ultra Magnus lured him away on his shuttle, but was eventually shot-down onto the [[Junkion (planet)|Planet of Junk]]. Galvatron tracked him there and Ultra Magnus managed to draw him away from the other Autobots to face the enemy alone. Magnus attempted to open the Matrix, but the Matrix would not open, and Ultra Magnus was blown to pieces. Galvatron took the Matrix, intending to use it to destroy [[Unicron]].

After the Autobots befriended the [[Junkion]]s, they used their expertise to rebuild Ultra Magnus. Magnus joined the other Autobots in the battle with Unicron on [[Cybertron]] and helped drive the last of the Decepticons from their home planet.

In 2006 (or 2010, if you're Japanese), Magnus ceased his role as a City Commander and became head-adviser to [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus Prime]], the new Supreme Commander of the Autobots and chosen one of the Matrix. At various times he was [[The Killing Jar|sucked into a black hole]], [[Only Human|turned into a synthetic human]] and [[Surprise Party|had a birthday party]].

When the [[Hate Plague]] possessed all of Earth and Cybertron, Ultra Magnus singled Rodimus Prime out of all the other Autobots and focused all his rage on him, vowing to track him wherever he went. Ultra Magnus was eventually cured of the Hate Plague when Optimus Prime came back from the dead (again).

Some time later, Ultra Magnus helped defend Autobot City from a massive Decepticon assault, which was actually a diversion for the theft of the key to the [[Plasma Energy Chamber]]. Subsequent to the battle and discovery of the theft, Magnus accompanied Optimus Prime on a shuttle to Cybertron. After Prime got the answers he needed from [[Vector Sigma]], he decided to go to [[Nebulos]] and left Ultra Magnus in charge of Cybertron.

Ultra Magnus' tenure didn't go very well, as the selfsame massive Decepticon assault force was attacking the planet. Nonetheless, he and the [[Protectobot]]s struck at Galvatron, and may well have done him in if [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]]'s reinforcements hadn't arrived. Magnus then ignominiously had his [[power pack]] torn out and slowly began to die from lack of energon. Optimus Prime was created, along with [[Ultra Magnus (RID)|Ultra Magnus]], by [[Alpha Trion]]. The two of them were raised together, and thus, saw each other as brothers. However, this relationship was torn apart after the Cybertron Civil Wars, whereupon the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] chose Optimus Prime to command the Autobots in stopping the [[Predacon (RID)|Predacon]] leader [[Megatron (RID)|Megatron]] from ravaging the universe in his quest for energy. Ultra Magnus left Cybertron that same day, bitter and spiteful of his brother.

Prime soon struck up command on [[Earth]], where he took the form of a fire truck. Operating out of a secret base in [[Metro City]], he and his fellow Autobots were more than ready to face Megatron and his Predacons. The conflict began when Megatron appeared in New York, attempting to kidnap the famous scientist [[Dr. Onishi]]. Optimus struck up a friendship with Onishi's son, [[Koji Onishi|Koji]], and despite not being able to save the boy's father, vowed that he would help rescue him.

In the events that followed, Prime was forced to deal with the Predacons' many energy-grabbing schemes, either personally, or indirectly by way of helping [[T-AI]] coordinate the movement of his troops by way of the [[space bridge|Global Space Bridge]].

However, Prime soon found another threat, in the form of the Decepticons - namely, one named [[Scourge (RID)|Scourge]]. Scourge was a corrupted Autobot [[protoform]], who, in addition to being infused with Megatron's evil, scanned Optimus Prime and a tanker truck at the same time, resulting in his looking like a twisted clone of the Autobot leader. Prime hoped that Scourge and his fellow Decepticons would one day be restored to their true Autobot selves, but after the Decepticons themselves tried to use this to trick him, he decided he should not allow this to cloud his judgement.

Matters escalated when Ultra Magnus appeared on Earth, making his desire to take the Matrix from Optimus Prime known to his "brother." Optimus refused to fight Magnus, and was thus, mercilessly fired upon, until [[Side Burn (RID)|Side Burn]], [[Prowl (RID)|Prowl]], and [[X-Brawn]] arrived to carry him away. Prime took refuge on a deserted island, but the Decepticons, Megatron, and Magnus both tracked him there. In the midst of the battle, Magnus forcibly activated their ability to combine into [[Omega Prime]], intending to use it to drain Prime of his energy so he could take the Matrix, but Optimus managed to take control and use their combination to stop the Decepticons. This fusion apparently resulted in both Autobots sharing the Matrix's power, which led to Magnus's attitude softening towards his brother.

Eventually, it was revealed that Megatron's true purpose on Earth was to take control of the massive Autobot, [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Fortress Maximus]]. These events led to Megatron becoming the more powerful Galvatron, who eventually devastated the Autobot forces. In his final battle with the evil leader, Prime and Magnus combined into Omega Prime to face Galvatron at the Earth's core. They were seemingly no match for him, until Fortress Maximus sent them his power, which energized the Matrix, forming the giant weapon, the [[Matrix Blade]]. Galvatron was defeated, and with that, the Autobots' mission on Earth was finished, and Prime resolved to return to Cybertron - but not before "one last look around" with Koji and the rest of his team.

Optimus Prime was created, along with [[Ultra Magnus (RID)|Ultra Magnus]], by [[Alpha Trion]]. The two of them were raised together, and thus, saw each other as brothers. However, this relationship was torn apart after the Cybertron Civil Wars, whereupon the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] chose Optimus Prime to command the Autobots in stopping the [[Predacon (RID)|Predacon]] leader [[Megatron (RID)|Megatron]] from ravaging the universe in his quest for energy. Ultra Magnus left Cybertron that same day, bitter and spiteful of his brother.

Prime soon struck up command on [[Earth]], where he took the form of a fire truck. Operating out of a secret base in [[Metro City]], he and his fellow Autobots were more than ready to face Megatron and his Predacons. The conflict began when Megatron appeared in New York, attempting to kidnap the famous scientist [[Dr. Onishi]]. Optimus struck up a friendship with Onishi's son, [[Koji Onishi|Koji]], and despite not being able to save the boy's father, vowed that he would help rescue him.

In the events that followed, Prime was forced to deal with the Predacons' many energy-grabbing schemes, either personally, or indirectly by way of helping [[T-AI]] coordinate the movement of his troops by way of the [[space bridge|Global Space Bridge]].

However, Prime soon found another threat, in the form of the Decepticons - namely, one named [[Scourge (RID)|Scourge]]. Scourge was a corrupted Autobot [[protoform]], who, in addition to being infused with Megatron's evil, scanned Optimus Prime and a tanker truck at the same time, resulting in his looking like a twisted clone of the Autobot leader. Prime hoped that Scourge and his fellow Decepticons would one day be restored to their true Autobot selves, but after the Decepticons themselves tried to use this to trick him, he decided he should not allow this to cloud his judgement.

Matters escalated when Ultra Magnus appeared on Earth, making his desire to take the Matrix from Optimus Prime known to his "brother." Optimus refused to fight Magnus, and was thus, mercilessly fired upon, until [[Side Burn (RID)|Side Burn]], [[Prowl (RID)|Prowl]], and [[X-Brawn]] arrived to carry him away. Prime took refuge on a deserted island, but the Decepticons, Megatron, and Magnus both tracked him there. In the midst of the battle, Magnus forcibly activated their ability to combine into [[Omega Prime]], intending to use it to drain Prime of his energy so he could take the Matrix, but Optimus managed to take control and use their combination to stop the Decepticons. This fusion apparently resulted in both Autobots sharing the Matrix's power, which led to Magnus's attitude softening towards his brother.

Eventually, it was revealed that Megatron's true purpose on Earth was to take control of the massive Autobot, [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Fortress Maximus]]. These events led to Megatron becoming the more powerful Galvatron, who eventually devastated the Autobot forces. :Optimus Prime is comprised of two parts, his truck cab and his trailer. His new truck cab is reminiscent of the original Optimus Prime truck cab, but is constructed entirely of plastic, lacks vacuum-metalized plastic and has no clear windows. It also transforms differently in that the front of the truck is no longer the robot mode's chest. His chest is now formed out of the truck's cabin rear, styled after his cartoon appearance. He is armed with two long black rifles, based in part upon his cartoon rifle.

The rear has a fold-down ramp to allow the storage of a smaller transformer, or perhaps spare accessories. Prowl was part of the crew of the ''[[Ark]]'', the Autobot starship that left Cyberton looking for alternate sources of energy only to crashland on Earth. Four million years later, the Transformers were reawakened and reformatted by Teletraan-1. Despite being situated in the United States, Prowl was reformatted as a Japanese police car. No one seemed to notice.

On Earth, Prowl continued to serve as [[Optimus Prime]]'s right hand man, filling the role of military advisor and strategist. His precision thinking and by-the-books planning served as a valuable counterpoint to Jazz's more improvisational style, and it was up to Optimus Prime to weigh their views and come to a decision.

During an attack against Decepticons, Prowl's battle computer was knocked offline by a particularly fierce blow. Crippled, Prowl extended his antenna to seek out an online computer that he could patch into. He found [[Chip Chase]]'s desktop terminal, and the young human ally momentarily took control of Prowl, animating the massive Autobot warrior with his computer.

Prowl met his maker in the year 2005, alongside fellow Autobots [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], [[Brawn]] and [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]]. During a [[Decepticon]] assault of a shuttle run to earth from Moonbase One for energon. He was felled by a single blast from [[Scavenger (G1)|Scavenger]], proving that a stylish leap when you fire your gun is all that was needed for Decepticon weapons to actually kill someone.

Prowl's body was evidently recovered for interment, as his grave was housed in the interstellar Autobot mausoleum. Along with the mausoleum itself, Prowl's remains were later plunged into a red sun as a side-effect of a [[Quintesson]] plot.

Prowl is the leader of a detachment of Autobots that has operated covertly on Earth for at least four years, attempting to foil a Decepticon insurgency. He almost throws [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] in the brig for breaking cover to rescue three humans from the Decepticons, and subsequently refuses to contact Optimus Prime until further evidence of enemy activities is uncovered.
