'''Primus''' is the creator-god of the [[Transformer]]s. An ancient and ethereal being whose origins date back to the beginnings of the universe itself, Primus is a multiversal force for good, his life force existing across multiple realities and infinite alternate universes. In each one, he is the final defense against his fallen sibling, [[Unicron]] the Chaos-Bringer.

Primus eventually transformed himself into the planet [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]; from its surface, his creations have risen to defend and patrol the galaxy. Within the depths of Cybertron, the mega-computer [[Vector Sigma]] serves as his internal mainframe, and a gateway for select Transformers to access his power. A portion of his lifeforce resides within the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]], which often determines the [[Prime (rank)|leader]] of the [[Autobot]]s. Prophecies of a war to come were written down in his [[Covenant of Primus|holy covenant]] as well. The [[spark]] of each Transformer is a small piece of Primus's essence, and together they form his lifeforce, the [[Allspark]].

Though wise and powerful beyond measure, Primus is neither infallible nor without weakness. At times he has [[Out of Time!|been deceived by mere mortals]], and has made [[The Sun|miscalculations]] which [[Balancing Act|jeopardized all of existence]], and has been betrayed by one of his [[The Fallen|earliest creations]]. Indeed, even the intended agents of his grand plan, the Transformers, have all too frequently become mired in endless civil war. Still, in [[Withered Hope|most realities]] he has [[Wreckers: Finale Part II|managed to hold the line]] against Unicron and other threats, either directly or through his innumerable children, the Transformers.

==In the beginning==

Before the dawn of time, Order and Chaos existed within an extradimensional entity known as [[The One]]. To explore the fledgling universe, he created the astral being known as [[Unicron]], and then subdivided him, creating his twin, Primus. Both brothers were [[Multiversal singularity|multiversal singularities]], unique in all realities, but whereas Unicron could only exist in one dimension at a time, moving between them at will, Primus existed simultaneously in all realities at once. It is suggested, in fact, that the two brothers embody the basic concepts of reality—good and evil, order and chaos—and that their continued existence is necessary for the stability of the multiverse.

As Unicron and Primus went about their appointed task, venturing through the cosmos, it became apparent to Primus that Unicron was a corrupt being, and he took it upon himself to stop the threat posed to all of existence by his sibling. In combat, Primus was no match for Unicron. In cunning, however, he proved himself to his brother's superior when he shifted their battle to the astral plane, and then back to the physical world once more, only to have both their essences manifest within metallic planetoids, leaving them both trapped. It was with this act of sacrifice that Primus hoped to contain Unicron's evil forever. Unfortunately for him, over time, Unicron learned to psionically shape his prison into a giant metallic planet, and Primus followed suit, becoming the mechanical world of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. When Unicron then learned to transform his planetary form even further, into a gigantic robot form, Primus adapted the idea to suit his own ends—rather than transforming his own body, he would create small beings that would be able to change their shape, like Unicron. After performing a "test run" on the moon of [[Protos]], where he successfully created [[Covenant|twelve transforming robotic beings]], {{storylink|Herald, Covenant, Schism, Paradox|Covenant}} he birthed from his own body a group of thirteen robots that possessed the ability to change shape, like Unicron. These were the [[thirteen original Transformers]], each one infused with a fragment of Primus's life essence known as a [[spark]].

The Thirteen were Primus's soldiers in his war with Unicron, which came to its seeming end during a climactic battle in which one of the Thirteen, who would forever afterwards be known as the [[The Fallen|Fallen]], betrayed Primus and became an acolyte of Unicron. The battle ended when the Fallen and Unicron were sucked into a black hole and disappeared from reality. With Unicron gone for now, Primus entered an eons-long slumber, his self-imposed sleep preventing Unicron from detecting him through the mental link the brothers shared. The Transformer race grew, and Primus fell into the realm of legend, with a portion of his power, the [[Matrix of Leadership]], handed down through the generations, serving as the Transformers' ever-present link to their creator.

Eventually, millions of years later, in [[The Transformers (Marvel comic)|one universe]] located in the [[Generation 1 continuity family|Primax cluster]], [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]], and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] found themselves transported to the center of Cybertron, where they discovered the sleeping form of Primus {{storylink|Yesterday's Heroes!}} and were told the tale of his and the Transformers' origins by the [[Keeper]]. After [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Optimus Prime]] sent teams of Autobots to retrieve the lost [[Creation Matrix]], the container of Primus' essence that could destroy Unicron, he communed with the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]]'s [[:Image:Arkaltar.jpg|Altar to Primus]]. Reaching out his mind to the Creation Matrix, the altar gave him a vision of a Matrix that had been tainted by evil. {{storylink|Kings of the Wild Frontier}}

Unicron dispatched a group of [[Hook, Line, and Sinker|heralds]] to attack Cybertron and pave the way for his coming, including a [[Galvatron II|Galvatron]] plucked from an [[Rhythms of Darkness!|alternate future]]. Galvatron, however, was not content to serve under Unicron, and instead captured Autobot leader [[Emirate Xaaron]], forcing him to fully awaken Primus, who possessed Xaaron's body and summoned Transformers from all across the universe back to Cybertron. {{storylink|Out of Time!}} Here, Primus spoke through Xaaron, telling the Transformers of his history with Unicron. Additionally, Primus chose Optimus Prime to lead both factions, united, against the Chaos Bringer. Primus knew this would draw out the [[Unicron cultist]]s among them, and Autobot and Decepticon were able to put aside their differences to defeat them. When Optimus Prime learned of Primus' ruse, his suspicions regarding his Creator's motives began to grow. Though their battle against the Unicron cultists did temporarily unite both factions, this facade shattered once the Planet-Eater arrived. Sheer terror prevented them from carrying out his desire, and the Transformers fled despite Primus' pleas. Primus instead made a stand himself, attempting to dupe Unicron into believing he still retained his full power, but Unicron saw through the deception, and destroyed Xaaron's body. Optimus Prime came to a realization, following Primus' destruction and his retrieval of the lost and contaminated Creation Matrix, that Primus did not mean only for the Transformers to fight his battles for him, but to carry on after he was gone. Flying into space with the Matrix, Prime unleashed the full measure of Primus's power, destroying Unicron. {{storylink|On the Edge of Extinction!}}

Though the Transformers were technically victorious, this victory came with a price. With Primus dead, and with the grievous wounds inflicted on Cybertron itself, the planet threatened to come apart. The Last Autobot created a race of tiny beings, [[Mini-Con]]s, to rebuild and restore Cybertron so that it would be ready for the Autobots' return. Part of the Mini-Cons' job was to excise certain evolutionary throwbacks, remnants of Primus' earlier experiments, such as the [[Mutant (G1)|Mutant]]s, and this alarmed one Mini-Con. He suspected that one day that Primus would consider the Mini-Cons surplus to requirements as well, and he instigated an insurgency against their Creator and his followers. {{storylink|The New World}}

Formerly the assistant to the Primacron, the ancient genius who created the giant mechanoid Unicron, the robotic being known as the Oracle was badly damaged when Unicron rebelled against his creator. His essence fled to a dead world at the centre of the galaxy, which he used his powers to transform into a verdant, green planet. However, the Oracle could sense that in the future, Primacron would go on to create another universal danger in the form of Tornedron, and so summoned a group of [[Primitive]] Transformers back through time from the year 2010 to his planet, where he instructed them in how to destroy the threat. {{storylink|Call of the Primitives}}/{{storylink|Generation 1 cartoon timeline (Japan)|Kiss Players timeline}}

Later in his life, the Oracle also reached through time when he discovered that the evil [[Sparkbot]]s were attempted to recreate Unicron following the planet-eater's destruction in the year 2005. By this stage calling himself "Primus", the Oracle attempted to stop the villains and their unwitting pawns, the human [[Kiss Players (singing group)|Kiss Players]], appearing as a giant golden hand to snatch away the fragments of Unicron's lifeforce each time the Kiss Players recovered them. {{storylink|Kiss Players (radio drama)|Kiss Players radio drama #45-46}} Unfortunately, this merely led the Kiss Players to pursue him through the timestream and resulted in them crashing into the "[[Wall of Time]]" and becoming scattered throughout the multiverse. {{storylink|Kiss Players (radio drama)|Kiss Players radio drama #47}} Knowing that the Kiss Players were innocent in this whole affair, having been duped by the Sparkbots, the benevolent Primus rescued them from the different regions of time and space they had wound up in, and properly introduced himself, explaining the Sparkbots' treachery. He then took them back in time to prehistoric Earth, arriving just in time to witness the Sparkbots' successful restoration of Unicron to life. Primus transformed once more and unleashed the power of his mobile cannon platform, destroying Unicron's energy and sealing it and the Sparkbots deep within the planet. To ensure that Unicron would never be freed again, he created a mighty guardian, [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Brave Maximus]], who would watch over it and the Earth. With the battle over, Shaoshao asked about the Kiss Players' future, but Primus did not reply. Unfortunately for Primus, as he slumbered, his world was eventually discovered by the alien Quintessons, who shackled his powers and used them to both transform the planet into the metallic Cybertron, and to create the races of robots that would eventually become the Transformers. Before Primus became Cybertron, he plotted to create robotic life that would ultimately defeat Unicron, but first he needed to do a test run. He created twelve beings, the [[Covenant]], on a small moon named [[Protos]]. These twelve would watch the Transformers from afar and only intervene when necessary.

Their intervention would become necessary when [[Shokaract]] used Unicron's essence, the [[Decepticon Matrix of Conquest]], to conquer the future, threatening the end of all things at an important historical crossroads dubbed Point Omega. Though the Covenant's ranks were halved in the battle against Shokaract on prehistoric Earth during the [[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]], they were ultimately able to discover a way to defeat Shokaract and his Unicron-fueled power. The remaining Covenant members returned to their original Primus-spawned energy forms and entered Shokaract's Matrix of Conquest. Reconstituting as an astral form of Primus, they severed Unicron's link with Shokaract, leaving him vulnerable to attack. {{storylink|Terminus}}

Dispatched to an ice world in the far reaches of the galaxy by the orders of the [[Oracle (BM)|Oracle]], [[Primal Prime]]'s [[Wrecker]]s encountered the exiled [[Quintesson]] known as [[Al-Badur]], who revealed to them the full extent of his race's connection to Cybertron and Primus. Al-Badur explained that, millions of years ago, the Quintessons sought to exploit the power of Primus for profit, and to that end, invaded Cybertron and set up numerous barriers to separate Primus from the Transformers. Their first attempt, the [[Plasma energy|Plasma Energy Chamber]], met with failure; next, the Quintessons targeted Vector Sigma itself, surrounding it with a shell program that acted as a barrier between the Transformers and the power and guidance of Primus. {{storylink|Disclosure}} Realizing that the Oracle itself was the Quintessons' shell program, Primal Prime began to fear that all that had come about as a result of its guidance—including [[Optimus Primal]]'s mission to restore a techno-organic balance to Cybertron—was all part of a Quintesson plot, but [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] assured him that Primus worked in mysterious ways.

The Wreckers soon returned to Cybertron, discovering that in their absence, Optimus Primal had achieved his goal of recreating the planet as a technorganic world. In the wake of this overwhelming transformation, the Quintessons had invaded the planet, but they were not the only threat to Cybertron's safety: The Wreckers were also faced with [[Cryotek (RID)|Cryotek]], who had used the legendary [[Divine Light]] to tap into the power of Primus and transform himself into a living god. During the course of the battle that ensued, Primal Prime and [[Apelinq]] were struck by a blast of Primus's power by Cryotek, which wound up merging them into [[Sentinel Maximus]]. At Al-Badur's direction, Sentinel Maximus steered the battle to an interdimensional portal chamber far below the planet's surface, where [[Matrix Templar]]s [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus]] and [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] began draining Primus's power out of Cryotek. To stop them, Cryotek shattered the Divine Light and absorbed Primus's energies directly into himself, where they could not drain it, but as he grappled with Sentinel Maximus, the fused Autobot forced them both through the portal, into a [[transwarp|shapeless interdimensional void]]. Although unable to drain Primus's power any further, Cryotek was sustained in the void by the power he had absorbed, and he was ready to carry on the battle until Primus himself—now unshackled thanks to the destruction of the Oracle in the final stages of Optimus Primal's quest—took an active hand, spiriting Sentinel Maximus away to partake in [[Balancing Act|another battle]] elsewhere in the multiverse.

While all of this was happening on Cybertron, elsewhere in the universe, on [[New Quintessa]], Primus briefly possessed the body of [[Icebird]] so that he could address the Quintesson leader [[Judge Heirodyus]]. Primus shocked the Quintesson by revealing that he had allowed all that had transpired to occur, and he "thanked" Heirodyus for his race's role in the scheme, promising to call upon them again if he ever needed an "evolutionary crisis" to drive his children forward. {{storylink|Wreckers: Finale Part II}}

In the wake of the repulsion of the Quintesson invasion, [[Unicron]] began gathering Transformers from across the multiverse, forcing them to fight and harvesting the [[spark]]s of the losers to restore his power. With each spark devoured, Primus was weakened, and so, communing with Alpha Trion, he chose to summon Optimus Primal back from the Allspark, restoring the Maximal commander to life. {{storylink|Abduction}} Primal was charged with re-securing the battling captives from the Pit of Unicron and leading a team of multiversal warriors to put a stop to this soul-stealing scheme before it could cause the Allspark to collapse. {{storylink|Escape (issue)|Escape}}

Primus allowed Optimus Primal to choose any Transformer who ever existed—living or dead—for his army. This required considerable amounts of Primus's power, so Primal was told to choose sparingly. In the Unicron Trilogy universe, Primus was introduced as the living energy core of Cybertron, as well as the originator of the precious and ancient fuel, [[Energon (Energon)|energon]]. With Cybertron left in a disastrous state after the chaos-bringer's attack, large amounts of energon were required to repair the planet, and to search for and acquire the mineral, the united Autobot-Decepticon forces entered into an alliance with the [[Earth Federation]] government.

Primus entered into the equation when the project's head scientist, [[Brian Jones (Energon)|Dr. Brian Jones]], brought his son, [[Kicker Jones|Kicker]], to Cybertron. Terrified of the giant robots surrounding him, Kicker fled, only to find himself tumbling through tunnels into a hidden chamber deep beneath Cybertron's surface. Primus awoke and saved Kicker from what would have been a fatal fall, and for his own reasons, imbued the child with a special gift—the ability to detect energon throughout the [[universe (universe)|universe]]. [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] subsequently discovered Kicker in Primus's chamber, and the god chose to work with the Transformers quite directly, imbuing them with the [[Spark of Combination]], which would allow the Autobots to [[Powerlinx]] and increase their powers. Primus went on to advise Optimus Prime on his actions in order to prepare for the future, including the [[Terrorcon (Energon)|Terrorcon]] invasion, the return of [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]], and the next battle with Unicron; although vague at times, he would offer just enough information to allow his children to survive the threats they faced. Primus was often very weak due to the damage done to the planet's surface, and spent most of his time in a mode of stasis to preserve his energy and keep Cybertron's energy grid online.

When Megatron succeeded in reanimating Unicron, most of the Autobot army was critically wounded in the ensuing battle. Primus's plan to contain Unicron's essence in the center of the sun failed when the star collapsed into a massive [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] which threatened not only Cybertron and the universe, but the entire multiverse itself. His energy drained to the point that he had once again been rendered dormant, Primus could now only be awakened and restored to full power by the four ancient [[Cyber Planet Key]]s, lost to the far reaches of the galaxy in a failed [[space bridge]] experiment eons ago. The magnitude of the threat posed to the multiverse was enough to summon [[Vector Prime]]—one of the original thirteen Transformers, who had been following Unicron through the multiverse and repairing the damage he had done—back to Cybertron to aid the Autobots in the quest for the keys.

After a while, the the Autobots were able to find the focusing device, the [[Omega Lock]], and the keys from [[Velocitron]] and [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]]. Bringing all three together caused the group to be drawn into the consciousness of Primus, who spoke through the three Mini-Cons and told his children to "maintain the balance". {{storylink|Trap}}

Eventually, despite continued attempts by both Megatron and [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] to steal the power of the Cyber Planet Keys, the Autobots were able to gather the keys from [[Velocitron]], the [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]] and [[Earth]], and brought them and their focusing device, the [[Omega Lock]], back to Cybertron. Coupling these three keys with the power of the Matrix, Optimus Prime was able to initiate Primus's transformation from planet mode to robot mode. Attempting to retrieve the Omega Lock, [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] made a rather pointless attack on Primus, only to be smacked down hard. {{storylink|Balance}} Shortly thereafter, when Primus was in the process of channelling some of his power into holding back the ever-growing black hole, Starscream tried again, plunging into the energy beam and absorbing some of Primus's power into himself. Eventually, the Autobots were able to acquire the final key, as well as to reactivate the four ancient ships which had carried the keys to the respective worlds ages ago—the [[Atlantis]], the [[Lemuria (Cybertron)|Lemuria]], the [[Hyperborea]] and the [[Ogygia]]. Primus fused the four ships together to form the [[Ark (Cybertron)|Ark]], and with his powers subsequently restored by all four keys, he channelled all of his power through the Ark as a beam, straight into the heart of the black hole. For the first time, it would be possible for Unicron to strike at Primus in all realities simultaneously, ending their cosmic feud once and for all. Ramjet and Nemesis Prime were ultimately stopped by Vector Prime and allies [[Sentinel Maximus]] and [[Omega Prime]], plucked from the midst of the ''Universe'' conflict by the multiverse-warping energies of the black hole.

The Dead Matrix, however, was cast into the heart of the black hole by Unicron's servant [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]], freeing Unicron's spark and allowing it to adopt a new, diminutive physical form. == Retconning the retcon? ==

It's no secret that, after the Unicron Trilogy, ''Universe'' and the Unicron-heavy [[Dreamwave Productions]] comic books, the [[fandom]] at large was generally quite sick of stories revolving around Unicron and Primus. It is likely no coincidence, then, that the major new universes which have been created in western media since then—those of the [[IDW Publishing]] comic books, the [[live-action film series|live-action movie]] and the ''[[Transformers Animated (cartoon)|Transformers Animated]]'' cartoon—have all eschewed use of the Primus creation myth. But what does this mean for the status of the retcon that states Primus exists in all universes?

The world of the live-action movie is a fairly cut-and-dried case. At first, the movie itself, and the comic books set in its continuity published by IDW, present the Transformers as creations of the enigmatic [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]], with no explicit connection drawn between it and Primus. However, Takara's [[World of Transformers]] website even lists the All Spark as a [[sacred implement]] alongside other Primus-related talismans such as the Matrix and Vector Sigma. The UK's Furman-scripted ''[[Transformers (Titan Magazine)|Transformers]]'' magazine had introduced Unicron in [[Transformers Comic issue 18|its eighteenth issue]] and later [[Transformers Comic issue 20|had the Transformers voyage into Cybertron's depths]]. While Primus was never mentioned in the course of the story, it was shown Cybertron's bowels had what seemed like huge versions of their own interior workings—a clear reference to Cybertron being the transforming body of Primus. Where Furman was going with that is unknown, as it was never followed up. Titan then confused everyone by saying ''legend'' has it that Primus created the first Seven Transformers; and then finally Primus was referred to by name by [[The Fallen]] in IDW's ''Tales of the Fallen'', confirming he exists in at least the comic back-story variations of the movie continuity.

The IDW and ''Animated'' universes are not so clear on the matter. Writer [[Simon Furman]] has outright said that the IDW universe will have "no Primus. No Unicron". In accordance with this, the Furman-penned ''[[Stormbringer (comics)|Stormbringer]]'', rather than have Transformers swear by Primus, instead had them swear by [[Primacron]], but a monkeywrench was thrown into the works when Primus's name was heard being taken in vain in [[Eric Holmes]]'s [[Megatron Origin issue 4|''Megatron Origin'' #4]]. Furman attempted to justify this on his blog by claiming that this was not ''the'' Primus, but simply "something or someone" called Primus that had existed some point. Much like the movieverse, the world of ''Transformers Animated'' also depicts the source of Transformer life as a mysterious talisman known as the [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]]. The show's creative team have stated that they do not plan to give an in-story explanation for the origins of the AllSpark, for [[AllSpark (Animated)#Notes|various reasons]]. Series art director [[Derrick J. Wyatt]], meanwhile, has stated more than once his opinion that Primus does not exist in the ''Animated'' universe [http://twitter.com/DerrickJWyatt/status/1759990650] but then we're into the realm of [[authorial intent]].

Ultimately, there is ''very'' little to say that Primus does not exist in the IDW or ''Animated'' universe, besides the fact that creators involved with those universes do not want to include the character in their stories. After all, just because Primus doesn't ''appear'', or characters are unaware of him, it doesn't mean he doesn't ''exist''. It wouldn't be the only time this has happened: the occupants of the parallel ''[[Shattered Glass]]'' universe were largely ignorant of Primus until a [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper from another universe]] mentioned him. To explore the fledgling universe, he created the astral being known as [[Unicron]], and then subdivided him, creating his twin, Primus. Both brothers were [[Multiversal singularity|multiversal singularities]], unique in all realities, but whereas Unicron could only exist in one dimension at a time, moving between them at will, Primus existed simultaneously in all realities at once. It is suggested, in fact, that the two brothers embody the basic concepts of reality—good and evil, order and chaos—and that their continued existence is necessary for the stability of the multiverse.

In cunning, however, he proved himself to his brother's superior when he shifted their battle to the astral plane, and then back to the physical world once more, only to have both their essences manifest within metallic planetoids, leaving them both trapped. It was with this act of sacrifice that Primus hoped to contain Unicron's evil forever. Unfortunately for him, over time, Unicron learned to psionically shape his prison into a giant metallic planet, and Primus followed suit, becoming the mechanical world of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. When Unicron then learned to transform his planetary form even further, into a gigantic robot form, Primus adapted the idea to suit his own ends—rather than transforming his own body, he would create small beings that would be able to change their shape, like Unicron. The Thirteen were Primus's soldiers in his war with Unicron, which came to its seeming end during a climactic battle in which one of the Thirteen, who would forever afterwards be known as the [[The Fallen|Fallen]], betrayed Primus and became an acolyte of Unicron. The battle ended when the Fallen and Unicron were sucked into a black hole and disappeared from reality. With Unicron gone for now, Primus entered an eons-long slumber, his self-imposed sleep preventing Unicron from detecting him through the mental link the brothers shared. Sheer terror prevented them from carrying out his desire, and the Transformers fled despite Primus' pleas. Primus instead made a stand himself, attempting to dupe Unicron into believing he still retained his full power, but Unicron saw through the deception, and destroyed Xaaron's body. Optimus Prime came to a realization, following Primus' destruction and his retrieval of the lost and contaminated Creation Matrix, that Primus did not mean only for the Transformers to fight his battles for him, but to carry on after he was gone. Though the Transformers were technically victorious, this victory came with a price. With Primus dead, and with the grievous wounds inflicted on Cybertron itself, the planet threatened to come apart. Formerly the assistant to the Primacron, the ancient genius who created the giant mechanoid Unicron, the robotic being known as the Oracle was badly damaged when Unicron rebelled against his creator. His essence fled to a dead world at the centre of the galaxy, which he used his powers to transform into a verdant, green planet. Though the Covenant's ranks were halved in the battle against Shokaract on prehistoric Earth during the [[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]], they were ultimately able to discover a way to defeat Shokaract and his Unicron-fueled power. The remaining Covenant members returned to their original Primus-spawned energy forms and entered Shokaract's Matrix of Conquest. Al-Badur explained that, millions of years ago, the Quintessons sought to exploit the power of Primus for profit, and to that end, invaded Cybertron and set up numerous barriers to separate Primus from the Transformers. Their first attempt, the [[Plasma energy|Plasma Energy Chamber]], met with failure; next, the Quintessons targeted Vector Sigma itself, surrounding it with a shell program that acted as a barrier between the Transformers and the power and guidance of Primus. {{storylink|Disclosure}} Realizing that the Oracle itself was the Quintessons' shell program, Primal Prime began to fear that all that had come about as a result of its guidance—including [[Optimus Primal]]'s mission to restore a techno-organic balance to Cybertron—was all part of a Quintesson plot, but [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] assured him that Primus worked in mysterious ways.

The Wreckers soon returned to Cybertron, discovering that in their absence, Optimus Primal had achieved his goal of recreating the planet as a technorganic world. In the wake of this overwhelming transformation, the Quintessons had invaded the planet, but they were not the only threat to Cybertron's safety: The Wreckers were also faced with [[Cryotek (RID)|Cryotek]], who had used the legendary [[Divine Light]] to tap into the power of Primus and transform himself into a living god. During the course of the battle that ensued, Primal Prime and [[Apelinq]] were struck by a blast of Primus's power by Cryotek, which wound up merging them into [[Sentinel Maximus]]. At Al-Badur's direction, Sentinel Maximus steered the battle to an interdimensional portal chamber far below the planet's surface, where [[Matrix Templar]]s [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus]] and [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] began draining Primus's power out of Cryotek. To stop them, Cryotek shattered the Divine Light and absorbed Primus's energies directly into himself, where they could not drain it, but as he grappled with Sentinel Maximus, the fused Autobot forced them both through the portal, into a [[transwarp|shapeless interdimensional void]]. Although unable to drain Primus's power any further, Cryotek was sustained in the void by the power he had absorbed, and he was ready to carry on the battle until Primus himself—now unshackled thanks to the destruction of the Oracle in the final stages of Optimus Primal's quest—took an active hand, spiriting Sentinel Maximus away to partake in [[Balancing Act|another battle]] elsewhere in the multiverse.

While all of this was happening on Cybertron, elsewhere in the universe, on [[New Quintessa]], Primus briefly possessed the body of [[Icebird]] so that he could address the Quintesson leader [[Judge Heirodyus]]. Primus shocked the Quintesson by revealing that he had allowed all that had transpired to occur, and he "thanked" Heirodyus for his race's role in the scheme, promising to call upon them again if he ever needed an "evolutionary crisis" to drive his children forward. {{storylink|Wreckers: Finale Part II}}

In the Unicron Trilogy universe, Primus was introduced as the living energy core of Cybertron, as well as the originator of the precious and ancient fuel, [[Energon (Energon)|energon]]. Transformers of this universe believed the stories of Unicron, Primus, and [[Omega Supreme (Energon)|Omega Supreme]] to be only myth and legend until the existence of Unicron was revealed in "[[the Unicron Battles]]" of 2010. With Cybertron left in a disastrous state after the chaos-bringer's attack, large amounts of energon were required to repair the planet, and to search for and acquire the mineral, the united Autobot-Decepticon forces entered into an alliance with the [[Earth Federation]] government.

Primus entered into the equation when the project's head scientist, [[Brian Jones (Energon)|Dr. Brian Jones]], brought his son, [[Kicker Jones|Kicker]], to Cybertron. Terrified of the giant robots surrounding him, Kicker fled, only to find himself tumbling through tunnels into a hidden chamber deep beneath Cybertron's surface. Primus awoke and saved Kicker from what would have been a fatal fall, and for his own reasons, imbued the child with a special gift—the ability to detect energon throughout the [[universe (universe)|universe]]. [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] subsequently discovered Kicker in Primus's chamber, and the god chose to work with the Transformers quite directly, imbuing them with the [[Spark of Combination]], which would allow the Autobots to [[Powerlinx]] and increase their powers. Primus went on to advise Optimus Prime on his actions in order to prepare for the future, including the [[Terrorcon (Energon)|Terrorcon]] invasion, the return of [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]], and the next battle with Unicron; although vague at times, he would offer just enough information to allow his children to survive the threats they faced. Primus was often very weak due to the damage done to the planet's surface, and spent most of his time in a mode of stasis to preserve his energy and keep Cybertron's energy grid online.

When Megatron succeeded in reanimating Unicron, most of the Autobot army was critically wounded in the ensuing battle. Primus's plan to contain Unicron's essence in the center of the sun failed when the star collapsed into a massive [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] which threatened not only Cybertron and the universe, but the entire multiverse itself. His energy drained to the point that he had once again been rendered dormant, Primus could now only be awakened and restored to full power by the four ancient [[Cyber Planet Key]]s, lost to the far reaches of the galaxy in a failed [[space bridge]] experiment eons ago. The magnitude of the threat posed to the multiverse was enough to summon [[Vector Prime]]—one of the original thirteen Transformers, who had been following Unicron through the multiverse and repairing the damage he had done—back to Cybertron to aid the Autobots in the quest for the keys.

After a while, the the Autobots were able to find the focusing device, the [[Omega Lock]], and the keys from [[Velocitron]] and [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]]. Bringing all three together caused the group to be drawn into the consciousness of Primus, who spoke through the three Mini-Cons and told his children to "maintain the balance". {{storylink|Trap}}

Eventually, despite continued attempts by both Megatron and [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] to steal the power of the Cyber Planet Keys, the Autobots were able to gather the keys from [[Velocitron]], the [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]] and [[Earth]], and brought them and their focusing device, the [[Omega Lock]], back to Cybertron. Coupling these three keys with the power of the Matrix, Optimus Prime was able to initiate Primus's transformation from planet mode to robot mode. It's no secret that, after the Unicron Trilogy, ''Universe'' and the Unicron-heavy [[Dreamwave Productions]] comic books, the [[fandom]] at large was generally quite sick of stories revolving around Unicron and Primus. It is likely no coincidence, then, that the major new universes which have been created in western media since then—those of the [[IDW Publishing]] comic books, the [[live-action film series|live-action movie]] and the ''[[Transformers Animated (cartoon)|Transformers Animated]]'' cartoon—have all eschewed use of the Primus creation myth. But what does this mean for the status of the retcon that states Primus exists in all universes?

The world of the live-action movie is a fairly cut-and-dried case. At first, the movie itself, and the comic books set in its continuity published by IDW, present the Transformers as creations of the enigmatic [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]], with no explicit connection drawn between it and Primus. However, Takara's [[World of Transformers]] website even lists the All Spark as a [[sacred implement]] alongside other Primus-related talismans such as the Matrix and Vector Sigma. The UK's Furman-scripted ''[[Transformers (Titan Magazine)|Transformers]]'' magazine had introduced Unicron in [[Transformers Comic issue 18|its eighteenth issue]] and later [[Transformers Comic issue 20|had the Transformers voyage into Cybertron's depths]]. While Primus was never mentioned in the course of the story, it was shown Cybertron's bowels had what seemed like huge versions of their own interior workings—a clear reference to Cybertron being the transforming body of Primus. Where Furman was going with that is unknown, as it was never followed up. Titan then confused everyone by saying ''legend'' has it that Primus created the first Seven Transformers; and then finally Primus was referred to by name by [[The Fallen]] in IDW's ''Tales of the Fallen'', confirming he exists in at least the comic back-story variations of the movie continuity.

The IDW and ''Animated'' universes are not so clear on the matter. Writer [[Simon Furman]] has outright said that the IDW universe will have "no Primus. No Unicron". In accordance with this, the Furman-penned ''[[Stormbringer (comics)|Stormbringer]]'', rather than have Transformers swear by Primus, instead had them swear by [[Primacron]], but a monkeywrench was thrown into the works when Primus's name was heard being taken in vain in [[Eric Holmes]]'s [[Megatron Origin issue 4|''Megatron Origin'' #4]]. Furman attempted to justify this on his blog by claiming that this was not ''the'' Primus, but simply "something or someone" called Primus that had existed some point. Series art director [[Derrick J. Ultimately, there is ''very'' little to say that Primus does not exist in the IDW or ''Animated'' universe, besides the fact that creators involved with those universes do not want to include the character in their stories. Some bloke called [[Jesus]] was born over 2000 years ago, or so legend says, leading eventually to the holiday called [[Christmas]].

In the year 1017 AD, the Autobot [[Navigator]] and his companion arrived on Earth searching for the lost Ark. Their ship landed in [[United Kingdom|England]] and the companion would look around every few centuries, and he would be named the [[Man of Iron]] by the awed residents of Stansham; his first appearance turned the tide of a great battle.

In the 18th Century, pirates roamed the seas filling up their treasure chests. [[Raindance|Two]] [[Grand Slam|Autobots]] were sent to Earth at this time, but were seemingly rendered offline in the process; they were found and then lost by a crew of pirates.

In the 1950s, there was a war in Korea that the [[United States of America]] was involved in. [[Sparkplug Witwicky|Irving Witwicky]] was one of the [[United States Marine Corps]] sent there.

By the 1980s, Earth was involved in a Cold War driven by the United States of America and the [[Soviet Union]]. The planet was also threatened by the international terrorist group [[Cobra]], who was opposed by either America's [[G.I. Joe (team)|G.I. Joe]] organisation and/or the international [[Action Force (team)|Action Force]] ([[The Transformers (Marvel comic)#Marvel US|sources]] [[The Transformers (Marvel comic)#Marvel UK|disagree]]). There also existed a group called [[S.H.I.E.L.D.]], an American spy organisation that primarily handled [[That big green, fire-snortin' lizard|an unknown dinosaur variant]], and otherwise seemed to have little prominence.

By a quirk of genetics, the [[Neo-Knights|odd human]] proved capable of wielding superpowers. The earliest known was a vigilante named [[Spider-Man]] who vanished after 1984 for unknown reasons, though he did clash with the Decepticons and [[The Enemy Within!|caused Megatron to rethink how dangerous humans were]].

Responsibility for dealing with them in the States fell to the [[Intelligence and Information Institute]], yet another American spy group (the 1980s was clearly a paranoid and unstable time), and their military wing [[Rapid Anti-robot Assault Team|RAAT]]. Diplomatic relations ''were'' tried early on with the [[President of the United States]], but failed.

In 1993, the Decepticons struck Earth with overwhelming force, devastating cities and slaughtering millions, merely as a way of attracting Autobot attention. Even this was dwarfed when the [[Cybertronian (faction)|Cybertronian]] warlord [[Jhiaxus (G2)|Jhiaxus]] blew up [[San Francisco]] the following year. The long-term impact this had on Earth is unknown.

In an alternate timeline, the bulk of the Autobot/Decepticon war moved off-world in 1990 and a small [[Earthforce]] remained to contain two duelling Decepticon factions (who later united). The Autobot base was located in [[Canada]], where an abnormally high number of [[Earthforce#Trivia|polar bears]] roam the wilderness; the animals have even become bold enough to approach the Autobot base.

In several alternate timelines where Unicron attacked in 2006, the Autobots were allowed to build a city on Earth and it would become a major location for scattered Autobots to regroup after Decepticon conquest of Cybertron. Diplomatic relations were strong between human and Autobot, and futuristic technology such as weather-control machines were gifted to mankind.

In yet another timeline, the Americas were brutally conquered after 2005 by [[Galvatron II|Galvatron]]. In response, the continent of [[Europe]] has united under a European Crisis Coalition.

The Transformers had arrived on the planet under unknown circumstances, and a temple on the [[Fera Islands]] had been built around their remains. A dangerous faction known as [[Cobra]], however, would discover them in 1938, and so erupted [[World War II]]: Cobra and the Decepticons taking on everyone else, and overrunning Europe. The threat caused the United States to enter the war in 1939, creating the world's first modern special forces unit in [[G.I. Joe (team)|G.I. Joe]]. A Joe/Autobot joint operation would end the war by defeating the Decepticons, but at the cost of the Autobots all dying.

In 1985, Cobra would resurface as a terrorist organisation. The remains of the Transformers would be used for a massive arms race.

Earth was one of many planets seeded as part of [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave's]] energon initiative. It is the only world where this plan succeeded, leaving it rich in [[Ultra-Energon]] ore, which can be used as a mighty power source. Both Shockwave and the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dynobot tactical unit]] were left buried on Earth.

A brief, unauthorised Decepticon landing on Earth saw the eruption of Mount St Helen in 1984. In an investigation, [[Laserbeak (G1)|two]] [[Ravage (G1)|Decepticons]] were salvaged by the underfunded government organisation [[Skywatch]]; they not only used this find to get more funding, they reprogrammed them to use them as agents.

Another unauthorised landing, this time by the rogue [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], occurred at an unknown point in time; he made contact with a number of amoral private corporations, leading to the formation of the [[Machination]].

The planet was officially invaded by the Decepticons sometime during 2002, presumably for the purposes of harvesting its local resources; a detachment of Autobots, led by [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]], followed them in an attempt to thwart their aims. Decepticon agents were placed in multiple areas, such as the [[Alexander Holt|United States government]] and the separatists of [[Brasnya]]. However, the recent discovery of [[Ore-13]] by [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]]'s team prompted the treacherous lieutenant to break protocol in an effort to rebel against [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]. Autobot agent [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] also broke protocol by initiating direct contact with three humans, who proved invaluable in gaining intelligence on Starscream's operations.

The discovery of Ore-13 threatened to make Earth the new front line in the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Megatron carried on the standard strategem of igniting conflict between humans to weaken their kind for conquest, but Autobot interference made him escalate things drastically. The Transformers became known to humanity, with the Machination attempting to exploit this.

About a year on from this, [[All Hail Megatron|''everyone suddenly forgot'' they knew about the Transformers]], while a disgruntled [[Sunstreaker (G1)|Sunstreaker]] made a deal that saw the Decepticons gain an undefended Earth. A destructive war occurred between Decepticon and human, with [[New York City]] seized as a base.

The mysterious aliens known as the [[Vok]] chose prehistoric Earth, which they dubbed '''Nexus Earth''', as the site of an experiment, and seeded the planet with vast amounts of raw [[Energon (fuel)|energon]], installing a second, artificial moon into the planet's orbit and placing several devices (including Stonehenge) at strategic points on the planet.

Around the time of the emergence of proto-hominids, a group of [[Maximal]]s and [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]] from Cybertron's future travelled back in time to prehistoric Earth, where they waged a war they dubbed the "[[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]]," and encountered the Vok, interfering in their plans. Deciding that the Beast Warriors had contaminated their experiment, the Vok activated the second moon, transforming it into a giant laser weapon with which they planned to detonate the Energon seeded throughout the planet, wiping it clean of life. This plan was foiled by the Maximal leader, [[Optimus Primal]], but the vast majority of the raw Energon on the planet was transformed into stable, cube form.

Both factions soon became aware of early hominids. A foiled Predacon attempt to slaughter them caused them to both disperse and develop knowledge of crude tools and weapons; [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] happily intervened in the natural course of Time by teaching the young hominids simple physics lessons; and after the end of the war, when the Transformers returned to Cybertron, [[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]] was left on the planet as the leader and god of a hominid tribe. Although they eventually rejected him and he too returned to Cybertron, it is unclear precisely how much influence Waspinator may have had on the evolution of humanity and their culture. Many would find this dizzturbing.

A future version of Earth was later visited by Maximals and Predacons under the command of [[Lio Convoy]] and [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]], respectively. At first known only as '''"[[Gaea]]"''', the world was known to have two sentient inhabitants, a girl named [[Artemis]] and her companion [[Moon (BWII)|Moon]]. Although the presence of what seemed to be a decimated Tokyo Tower suggested that Gaea was Earth, it was not fully confirmed until release of the ''[[Robot Masters]]'' toyline's version of Lio Convoy, the bio to which revealed that Earth had been devastated by mankind's tampering with the power source known as [[Angolmois]] energy.

Thousands of years ago, the Autobot high council hid [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Fortress Maximus]] on Earth. The many parts of its activation mechanism, such as [[O-Part]]s, the [[Orb of Sigma]], and [[Cerebros (RID)|Cerebros]], came to be located within relics left behind by ancient human civilizations. In the 1940s, a crew of Autobots was dispatched to the planet to check up on things, unsuccessfully. In the present day, the biggest problem facing humanity is a lack of access to energy. [[Kenneth Onishi|Doctor Onishi]] is the world's foremost expert on locating and cataloguing new energy sources, and during the course of his work he located Fortress Maximus and some of the O-Parts. Cue the ''second'' biggest problem for humanity, as their top energy expert was kidnapped by a [[Megatron (RID)| giant robot hand]].

After the first defeat of [[Unicron]], Earth was chosen as one of the planets to receive a [[Cyber Planet Key]], which would have reformatted the planet into a Transformer colony. However, the colony ship [[Atlantis]], also carrying the [[Omega Lock]], crashed onto the planet before it could begin its mission.

(Note: A lost undersea city was found earlier during the [[Armada (cartoon)|Armada series]], one powered by a [[Mini-Con]] from the [[Air Defense Mini-Con Team (Armada)|Air Defense Mini-Con Team]]. A hologram described that the civilization had been quite advanced, but was destroyed by its own power. The human children deemed this city to be Atlantis, but it is possible that it was a completely different civilization.)

Some time later, when the [[Mini-Con|Mini-Cons]] fled Cybertron to escape being used as tools, their ship came out of warp above Earth. Impacting onto the planet's [[Moon (moon)|moon]], the Mini-Con ship broke in half, sending a large chunk of the craft into Earth's atmosphere. [[Mini-Con storage panel|Mini-Con storage panels]] were spread across the globe and the ship itself crashed onto the surface, where they laid dormant for nearly a million years. {{storylink|First Encounter}} Earth's fate being tied to that of Cybertron in the Unicron Trilogy is a form of predestination. The human [[Rad White]] visited Cybertron millions of years ago via a completely unexplained timeslip and encountered the Mini-Cons upon birth, releasing them from [[Unicron]]'s control and pretty much sealing this fated relationship for good.

Eons ago, the [[Thirteen original Transformers|<s>Thirteen</s>]] [[Seven Primes|<s>Seven</s>]] founders of the [[Dynasty of Primes]] came to Earth with their warriors and workers to build a Harvester unit, designed to nick power from stars to charge the mighty [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]]. Just as they finished the Harvester, the Primes discovered the primitive humans. Most of the Primes upheld their rule of sparing life, but one Prime, forever known as [[The Fallen]] despised the humans as insects and sought to seize the All Spark's power for himself. A great battle took place, but in the end, the Dynasty of Primes stole the [[Matrix of Leadership]], the key to activate the harvester, and hid it in a [[Tomb of the Primes|tomb]] made of their bodies. The harvester was abandoned on Earth, in the country that would be called [[Egypt]]. The native humans built a pyramid around it, millennia before those Ivory Tower eggheads claim the Egyptians did. [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seekers]] would start searching the planet for the Matrix, and symbols and pictures of them ended up on ancient human relics.

The All Spark itself crashed onto Earth around 10,000 B.C.E., followed a few thousand years later by the Transformer [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] who would become buried at the Arctic Circle. The discovery of the latter would lead to either the formation or retasking of the [[Sector Seven]] organisation, a United States secret service that may or may not have previously dealt with other alien encounters. [[Hoover Dam]] would be built as a secret holding base for Sector Seven, near to populous [[Mission City]]. Unknown to Sector Seven (initially), the Seekers were still searching on Earth, this time disguised as contemporary machinery.

Through Megatron, much of modern human technology would be created via reverse-engineering and much of modern American history driven by Sector Seven. Oppenheimer created the atom bomb through reverse-engineered technology; the "space race" (including [[Ghost 1|more secret parts of it]]) was won by America solely due to Megatron's bits; and Three Mile Island was caused by poking at the All Spark.

The 1980s would see a number of Transformers landing on Earth, including [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], before soon departing. This appears to have been covert ''even among their own factions'', as none of the Transformers have referred to it. Sector Seven hurriedly initiated the [[Hungry Dragon]] black propaganda operation, creating a [[toy|toyline]] of transforming robots to cover up the sightings.

By the 21st Century, the United States had thus become so powerful the [[United States military]] possessed [[SOCCENT Forward Operations Base|bases]] in foreign countries such as [[Qatar]] and NASA had [[Beagle 2 Rover#Notes|total supremacy]] over space-related matters. Sector Seven had its own paramilitary wing and [[Section N44E|prisons]], all while being so secret the [[John Keller|Secretary of Defence]] was unaware of its existence.

In 2003, covert Transformers (both [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] and Decepticon) arrived on Earth to search for the All Spark, successfully evading and sometimes killing any Sector Seven forces. Another and seemingly unrelated [[Mountain Dew Robot|faction]] would later attempt the same thing, even getting their operative [[Dewbot]] inside the Hoover Dam base. Operating at the fringes were human vigilantes such as the mysterious [[Agent X]] and the [[Lunchables Brigade]] paramilitary, the latter having some form of contact with the Autobots.

In the summer of 2007, the same Decepticons [[Planetfall|arrived on Earth ''again'']] and would learn of the existence of Archibald Witwicky's glasses; luckily, [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] and the Autobots arrived on Earth to secure the All Spark. Open warfare would result, ending in a final battle with both the military and the Autobots fighting against the Decepticons at Mission City. Sector Seven were decimated and the AllSpark cube destroyed, but the Decepticons were defeated and Megatron killed thanks in part to [[Sam Witwicky|two]] [[Mikaela Banes|youths]].

Sector Seven was tasked with cleanup, making a brief, if shaky, alliance with the Autobots to escort the remains of the Decepticons for dumping in the [[Laurentian Abyss]], only to end up in the shit after their [[Wreckage (Movie)|secret Decepticon prisoner]] was activated and caused a major battle. The same day, the ''[[Nemesis (ROTF)|Nemesis]]'', a long lost Decepticon ship tasked with locating Earth, arrived in Earth's solar system; its commander [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]], upon learning of the loss of Megatron and the Cube, dispatched forces across the planet to begin looking for Megatron's body and the Matrix of Leadership.

Following this, Sector Seven was shut down and a secret military alliance was made between the United States and the Autobots: [[NEST]]. Other countries were involved with NEST, but it's not clear how heavily they were. Either way, they had repeated battles with rogue Decepticons.

That same year, Megatron was revived, and was tasked by his master The Fallen with retrieving Sam Witwicky and killing Optimus Prime. Failing in the later but succeeding in the former, Megatron decided to escalate the war with the Autobots by making overt attacks, with strikes on Earth cities and the destruction of a major [[pyramid]] before the Autobot/NEST team won when Sam Witwicky used the Matrix to revive Optimus Prime, who in turn defeated Megatron and killed The Fallen.

There are several divergent timelines where the presence of other Transformers or different strategies undertaken altered the entire pattern of events.

[[Transformers The Game (console)|Some]] have the same basic outcome, but with greater and more wide-ranging devastation to America and greater (but futile) resistance by Sector Seven. [[Transformers Autobots/Decepticons#Decepticons|At least one]] resulted in not only wider destruction but in complete Decepticon victory.

In the most severe divergence, the rogue Decepticon general [[Mainframe (Movie)|Mainframe]] reached Earth before the Autobots and established an army and base at the Arctic. He began taking out every Autobot agent arriving on Earth, whilst searching for the All Spark, and eventually began sweeping the Earth with large numbers of [[drone]] units. He was eventually defeated by the Earthbound [[Chevy Autobot]]s unit; the impact this had on [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream's]] attempts to gain the All Spark, not to mention Earth itself, are unknown.

In a further divergent timeline, the Decepticons succeeded at Mission City and conquered the United States. While [[NATO]] regrouped to try and oppose them, its forces proved no match for Decepticon retaliation. The crisis caused [[Russia]] to join up with NATO, and resulted in extensive damage to [[France|Paris]], including the loss of the French centre of government.

Via a processing station at [[Savannah]], [[Georgia]], Megatron used the All Spark to begin transforming Earth into a new Cybertron. The Autobots eventually killed him and destroyed the All Spark, but the fundamental damage was already done: Earth's core was infected, causing the planet to be torn apart by continuing techno-organic activity. ''Un''natural disasters spread across the Earth, along with areas spewing out raw [[Energon (fuel)|energon]] and a strange illness affecting scores of people. This would eventually be stopped with [[Nucleon]].

On top of this, attempts to rebuild the liberated United States were constantly thwarted by a Decepticon terror campaign; both Autobot and NATO forces (the American military having been decimated) operated on US soil, attempting to defend it. The Decepticons eventually re-conquered 600+ miles of US territory centred on Savannah, claiming it as an autonomous [[Decepticon Heartland]]. To make matters worse, the Decepticons had mental control over hundreds of human officials, including [[Theodore Allen|the US President]], and used them to force America to seek a diplomatic deal and thus leave itself easier to conquer. While the Autobots eventually defeated the Decepticons, the mind-controlled slaves and [[drone]] soldiers were littered across the country.

By the 22nd Century, robotic technology had transformed the world. The centre of this development was [[Detroit]], where [[Isaac Sumdac]] had set up his [[Sumdac Systems]] company and made great breakthroughs in robotics (thanks to [[Megatron (Animated)|his friend the talking head]]). Robots work in all fields, from [[Burger Bot|fast food]] to [[News Bot|journalism]] to [[Police drone|law enforcement]].

This leap in technology has [[Professor Princess|also]] [[Nanosec|led]] [[Slo-Mo|to]] [[Colossus Rhodes|numerous]] [[Angry Archer|supervillains]] and [[Street Demon|other]] forms of advanced criminal activity. Luckily, at least [[Wraith|one superhero]] has also arisen.

This Earth is home to a variety of weird things and has a [[Internet|filth-ridden electronic communications system]], and the people there are incredibly hostile to both Transformer factions. A massive change from the normal universes!

This world suffered a devastating Third World War in the 1980s, which among other things destroyed the Western seaboard of the [[United States of America]] and sent [[California|most of it underwater]]. At some unknown point in its past, there was an invasion by [[The Inhumanoids|metal monsters from the centre of the Earth]].

The United States is commanded by [[President Colton]], who is known for [[Global Orbital Defense Satellite|dodgy military activity]]. Rebel movements are at work in the country. Other foreign powers, known either to want to attack the US or to be capable of pre-emptive strikes, include [[United Kingdom|the British]], the [[Soviet Union]], and the [[Ottoman Confederacy]]. {{storylink|Eye in the Sky}}
