:Laserbeak is a Decepticon in the Dark of the Moon portion of the live-action continuity family.
An example of Cybertronian wildlife re-engineered to serve Transformers, Laserbeak serves the Decepticons primarily as a scout and spy for Soundwave. But that doesn't mean he isn't capable of other tasks, such as hunting down targets for capture, be they human or Autobot.
Perhaps the most useful of his abilities is to transform into almost any type of alt-mode, even those who aren't alt-modes.

Fiction
Convergence
Laserbeak crewed the Nemesis with Soundwave and his other minions. He informed Soundwave the energy reading they detected was growing stronger and more distinct as they approached: it was the AllSpark. When another ship crashed into the Nemesis, Laserbeak bit Fracture's leg, preventing her from falling into space as the bridge decompressed. Laserbeak then searched their records for the ship's identity, but found nothing, though he noticed the ship appeared damaged.

Soundwave parked the Nemesis on a dead ringed world, and took his crew aboard the Longshot to follow the ship via the wormhole it left behind. As they emerged in the far future, they witnessed the ship crash on to the moon below, orbiting the planet containing the AllSpark's energon signature. Convergence chapter 1

The lifeforms of the native planet soon explored the ship, which contained Sentinel Prime. Laserbeak was sent to persuade the Soviet scientist Dr. Voskhod to pull the plug on their manned mission in 1972. In 1979, Soundwave and Laserbeak met with their American contact Gould — whose creative accounting prevented further trips to the moon — for the last time, as well as Gould's son Dylan. Convergence chapter 4

Dark of the Moon film
:Voice actor: Keith Szarabajka (English), Masao Komaya (Japanese), Ernesto Lezama (Latin American-Spanish)

With the Star Harvester destroyed, Megatron sought to revive Sentinel. Voskhod's nephew Alexi led Optimus Prime, Ratchet and NEST to Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, where they would find an Ark fuel cell. Laserbeak watched, silently intimidating Voskhod when he was about to say too much about their mission. Shockwave and the Driller attacked the NEST forces, and the Autobots retrieved the fuel cell, unaware that the whole thing had been a set up. The mission completed, Laserbeak killed Voskhod as he tried to drive away in his white limo, sarcastically telling his corpse it had been a pleasure to work with him.

Laserbeak soon arrived in Africa, shooting up a vulture as he descended to perch on Soundwave's hand. He reported to Megatron of the success of the Chernobyl mission, which had in turn led to Optimus retrieving Sentinel from the moon. He was then ordered to kill all of the Decepticons's human collaborators. During one of his attacks, he shape-shifted into a small pink version of Bumblebee(albeit with some parts missing), and met a little girl, who presumably mistook him as the friendly robot. When her parents came in, Laserbeak transformed into his normal self and killed her father.

Laserbeak's "favourite" contact Jerry Wang was next, who had passed on articles pertaining to the assassinations and cover-ups to fellow employee Sam Witwicky. Laserbeak confronted Wang at his office, ordering him to do some saboutage work relating to the moon. When Sam came into Wang's office asking about the notes he had been given, Laserbeak forced Wang to send him away. He then demanded to know what he had told Sam. Wang feigned despair, saying he would do anything, but was able to surprise the sadistic Decepticon by pulling out two guns. However Laserbeak quickly disarmed him with his tail and "suicided" Wang by swinging him out the window, sending him falling to his death. Laserbeak took disguise as a photo copier and waited for Sam to come closer, but an employee trying to use him forced Laserbeak into action, chasing Sam through the office. Unfortunately he was not very nimble in the cramped spaces, and Sam managed to escape when Laserbeak clipped his wing.

Laserbeak reappeared with Soundwave after Sam and Carly Spencer had realised that the one human ally they did not kill, Dylan Gould, was working for the Decepticons. Laserbeak perched himself on a fountain and watched as Dylan and Soundwave forced Sam into agreeing to find out the Autobot's plans.

Laserbeak later participated in the invasion of the city of Chicago, and waited for Sentinel to activate his Space Bridge pillars in Dylan's penthouse. When Sam was arrived to resuce Carly, Laserbeak transformed out of his artwork mode and grabbed Sam with his talons and threw him out of the window. But Sam was saved by Bumblebee and his newly acquired Decepticon fighter. Laserbeak tried knocking a military drone into the fighter to jam its engines, and struggled with Sam on top of the fighter. Sam managed to hold Laserbeak's head in front of one of the fighter's guns and had Bumblebee fire, decapitating and killing Laserbeak. Dark of the Moon (film)

Commercial appearances
Laserbeak, in disguise as an office copy machine, got upset when he jammed because the office workers failed to use the good paper. He transformed and shot the place up until a woman went and got Double A paper. He then went back to making copies. Commercial/Dark of the Moon
Transformers: Dark of the Moon - The Game
Xbox 360/PS3
Laserbeak played a vital role during Soundwave's mission to a former Sector Seven data archive. While Soundwave was able to fight his way to the base, he was unable to break in and so launched Laserbeak to infiltrate it instead.

Armed with a machine gun, the small but vicious Decepticon could not last long in an all-out firefight with the Autobots inside, so it had to rely on stealth. Using its abilities to take the form of holographic items and fixtures within the base, Laserbeak was able to ambush and slay numerous Autobots as it sought a way to allow Soundwave entry.

Throughout the course of this operation, Laserbeak encountered numerous defense drones, autoturrets and Autobots. It also learned that the base, while still containing useful data, was now used as a workshop by the Autobot scientist Wheeljack. Worse, Wheeljack was working with human scientists to develop MechTech weaponry.

Realising the threat, Soundwave now changed objectives from data retrieval to outright destruction. As the base was built in a volcano in order to take advantage of geothermal energy, he had Laserbeak damage several of the seismic dampeners that prevented the volcano from erupting. Laserbeak also managed to hack the gates, finally allowing Soundwave to enter the base personally and complete both objectives.

As the base was consumed in flames, Laserbeak flew overhead before landing on its master's arm, screeching in victory. Dark of the Moon (Xbox 360/PS3)
**Accessories: MechTech Cybertronian Cannon A, Cybertronian Cannon B

:Dark of the Moon Laserbeak transforms from a VTOL aircraft (similar to the G.I. Joe Sigma 6 Dragonhawk vehicle) to a Cybertronian bird/dragon thing. There are a total of eight MechTech weapon holes, from the top and bottom of both wings, to the bottom of both feet, as well as above and below the cockpit in vehicle mode. The red upper portion of his propellers can also be spun.

:The two weapons included have Gatling-style barrels, with one gun being static while the other having a MechTech swapping feature. Pulling the lever on the latter will make the barrel repeatedly spin forward to eventually reveal a second, different cannon barrel. The static gun can plug into the back of the MechTech gun to create a giant cannon. Both guns also include a C joint bar on top.

:The beast mode's mouth can open, and the heels are actually 5mm pegs. Along with the peg-holes on the soles of his feet, this allows the toy to perch on the arm of any toy with the compatible holes or pegs. The cockpit/helmet of the vehicle mode has a stylized bird head painted on both sides.

:The instructions show a different head than the final toy, with a more realistic looking bird head. The instructions also fail to mention that the black plastic flap on his tail can be swiveled over and pegged onto a small grey tab on the tail's base, covering up his tail in vehicle mode and making him look just a bit more convincing as an aircraft, as shown in the stock photos. Care should be taken however, as the small tab is prone to stress marks and may eventually snap off.

:The red paint application on the larger weapon as shown on the packaging was left off on the actual toy.
*Laserbeak was in an early draft of The Reign of Starscream, but was dropped at Hasbro's request.
*Previous beast-like robots didn't talk because the production team thought it would be "weird". Apparently, they changed their minds when it came Laserbeak's turn.
*Alternate modes that Laserbeak has been known to assume include a hover jet, a computer, a photocopier, a plasma television screen, and a child sized, fuchsia Bumblebee.<!-- Are there any more? -->
*According to some concept art, he was supposed to transform from what looks like an electronic plush penguin to a penguin/condor/dragon-hybrid robot with VTOL wings. The robot mode is both ridiculous and freaky.
*Surprisingly, his Vector Sigma database claims he has no vehicle modes, despite also having a picture of him in vehicle mode. Someone clearly didn't pay attention to the merchandise.
*Though it is implied that Laserbeak was the one torturing Jerry Wang as an evil computer and mouse, when Sam leaves the room Laserbeak transforms from the television on the other side of the office.

The instructions also fail to mention that the black plastic flap on his tail can be swiveled over and pegged onto a small grey tab on the tail's base, covering up his tail in vehicle mode and making him look just a bit more like an aircraft, as shown in the stock photos. Care should be taken however, as the small tab is prone to stress marks and may eventually snap off.

:The red paint application on the larger weapon as shown on the packaging was left off on the actual toy.
Revenge of the Fallen is a mobile phone game release to tie in with Revenge of the Fallen as a sequel to their Transformers game which tied in to the first movie. It is a platformer in which the player controls Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. The story is a simplified version of the film's plot.

Gameplay
For each mission, the user controls either Optimus or Bumblebee using the numeric keys on the device. 4 and 6 steer left and right, 8 jumps or transforms to robot mode, 2 transforms to vehicle mode, 5 attacks or interacts with objects in the location. Optimus has only melee attacks, 5 will deliver a punch and pressing an indicated direction key while punching will execute a special melee attack, such as impaling the opponent on his energon sword. Optimus can also haul himself up onto higher platforms. Bumblebee can melee attack and use his blaster. Pressing 0 as Bumblebee will allow a targeted shot with his blaster, though he is limited to 3 of these unless he can find a recharge. Both Autobots can push boxes while in their vehicle mode to navigate certain puzzles.

Synopsis
After the recent destruction of the AllSpark, Optimus hoped the war was over, but now the Autobots are working with NEST, and the Decepticons have reemerged. A distress call from Shanghai sends Optimus to China, where he discovers the first wave of a Decepticon invasion force. While he is fighting off the troops, NEST sensors pick up AllSpark energy. Optimus recalibrates his internal sensors to track the signal and runs into Starscream, who has recovered a another fragment of the AllSpark. Optimus attempts to stop him, but Starscream flies off with the fragment. Optimus has no time to ponder what Starscream's last words "He will see to that!" mean, when NEST issues a code red — Decepticon signatures are converging on NEST HQ. Optimus has to stay in Shanghai to help with the cleanup, but Bumblebee is conveniently nearby.

Elsewhere, Starscream apologizes to The Fallen for his failure to finish Prime, but The Fallen is pleased at the recovery of the AllSpark shard. He instructs Starscream to proceed to the next stage of the plan while he uses the AllSpark to restore... "him".

Bumblebee reaches NEST HQ and attempts to halt the Decepticon advance before they reach the sub-level's central core. He confidently tells Optimus that he won't need Ironhide's help, and begins mowing down Decepticons, but NEST alerts him that Starscream has arrived and is heading for the core. Bumblebee manages to beat his opponent there and seal off the core, but finds himself having to face Starscream. He manages to beat the Decepticon, only to be zapped by Starscream's null ray. While Starscream is still gloating, the newly-revived Megatron contacts him to report that the diversionary attack was a success and now they have more important matters to attend to, such as the Matrix. Bumblebee warns Optimus, who has an idea where they're headed, and plans to look up an old friend.

Elsewhere, The Fallen tells Megatron and Starscream to head for Egypt to find the Matrix, so they can use it to reactivate the Great Machine.

NEST loses contact with Optimus, who is attempting to find Jetfire. Bumblebee arrives in Egypt, and Optimus instructs him to meet Jetfire at the Great Pyramid, though Bumblebee wonders if the ex-Decepticon can be trusted. Bumblebee fights his way toward the pyramid, and Optimus warns him that there's a large energy signature in the area which he believes to be The Fallen. When Bumblebee arrives at the pyramid, he finds Jetfire is already down, thanks to Devastator who has gotten hold of the Matrix somehow. Despite Optimus's caution, Bumblebee defeats Devastator in battle and retrieves the Matrix. Unfortunately Megatron promptly arrives and takes Bumblebee and the NEST soldiers present as hostages.

Optimus arrives and demands that Megatron return the Matrix and hostages, but Megatron boasts that Optimus will never defeat him alone. Bumblebee tells Prime that before Jetfire passed out, he suggested Optimus use his parts. With bits of Jetfire attached to himself, Optimus gains more power, and is able to punch Megatron into submission and get the Matrix back. The Fallen picks this moment to make an appearance, pointing out that Optimus is now too exhausted to resist him. Optimus agrees, but points out now he has the Matrix. Tapping into its power, he unleashes a mighty blast of energy that destroys the Fallen. The Autobots celebrate their victory, though Megatron has escaped and is already plotting the conquest of Earth.
"You're beaten, Starscream. I can't say that's unpleasant-- or much of a surprise!"
"I know you're an older model, but don't tell me your circuitry is starting to fail already."<br>
"Sounds like you're still having a problem with your vocal processors. Maybe I should fix that-- after I've torn them from your smoldering carcass!"
:—Bumblebee and Starscream exchange smack talk.

"Prime, wait! Before Jetfire passed out, he said something about combining his parts with yours..."<br>
"Of course... the fusion should give me enough power to defeat Megatron, but it would surely mean the end of Jetfire. Unfortunately, it's the only way... Forgive me, old friend... and thank you."
:—Bumblebee and Optimus Prime decide to cannibalize Jetfire while he's asleep.

"'The Fallen'... It is unfortunate how apt a title that has become for you, Master. Underestimating Prime proved to be an unforgivable error, but I will make no such mistakes... Now, with the Decepticons fully under my command, our invasion of Earth-- and the final destruction of the Autobots-- will not fail!"
:—Megatron will get you next time, Optimus!

Notes
*Promotion for the game promised you could get help from Autobot and human allies, including Ratchet, Ironhide and NEST, but neither Ratchet nor Ironhide make an appearance. Ironhide and Ratchet only make appearances in certain versions of the game, but not all of them.
*As Bumblebee reaches NEST HQ, Optimus warns him that there's "more going on here than meets the eye". Later, Megatron uses the line "such heroic nonsense" when taking Bumblebee prisoner.
Storm Cloud is like Starscream, except with less brains, talent, self-control, or chance of success. He always announces his plans, including such brilliance as: "I'm going to replace Whisper as leader of the Air Strike Patrol!" In front of Whisper. However, he is an expert in electronic warfare, using electromagnetic interference to confuse enemy scanners, from a safe point high up in the sky. When Roadhandler became an overnight wrestling sensation, Scorponok requested new warriors from Cybertron to counter the Autobot Micromasters' building public adulation. The Micromaster Air Strike Patrol, including Storm Cloud, subsequently arrived on Earth, donated by a Decepticon on Cybertron with an unknown, mysterious identity. Storm Cloud challenged Roadhandler in the ring, with the stipulation that if Roadhandler didn't demonstrate Autobot inferiority by throwing the match, Roadhandler's fan club would be in danger. Once the threat had been removed, Roadhandler clobbered Storm Cloud easily. The Interplanetary Wrestling Championship!

Unknown to Scorponok, Storm Cloud's secret employer was Megatron, who then sent Storm Cloud and his teammates on a mission to Air Force Base. En route to the base, Nightflight and Storm Cloud indulged in some showy aerobatics, nearly crashing in the process. Admonished by Whisper, they reached the base and captured the B-204 refueling plane. Storm Cloud interrupted Whisper's ultimatum to the humans, issuing... basically the same ultimatum. When the Autobots inevitably arrived, the team contacted Scorponok to tell him that they were under attack. Back from the Dead During a brief confrontation with Optimus Prime, Storm Cloud disabled Optimus's attempt to contact the Ark and accidentally let slip part of his team's plans. Storm Cloud, Nightflight, and Tailwind came to the aid of the assassin Whisper when he was chased into an Earthen jungle by the Autobot Rescue Patrol. The outcome of this battle is unknown. The Greatest Gift of All!

A news team followed the Air Strike Patrol across the southern United States, where finally the group descended on an oil refinery. When they attacked, the human civilians were defended by Hector Dialonzo, a human with extraordinary powers. While on film, Storm Cloud and his teammates met their apparent demise at Hector's hands. The Human Factor!
Near the end of that war, the Patrol chased Scorponok, alone, into a human settlement, where Storm Cloud mused that the infighting between the other three members of his team would allow him to prove himself. Scorponok manoeuvered a team of Autobots into combatting the Patrol for him, with the Autobot unit leader Hot Rod shielding Scorponok from one of Storm Cloud's strikes.
