: A Universe Legends-class Optimus Prime came packaged with this version of Lockdown, as well as a Legends Bumblebee. He is nearly identical to the single-carded Legends class Universe Animated Optimus Prime, but uses a lighter blue plastic for the blue parts.
:A redeco of Legends Optimus Prime in his regular colors but with some translucent blue parts. He was given away at Family Mart stores in Japan as part of their raffle token promotion. Unlike Optimus Prime Clear Red Version, he is painted to resemble his normal coloration, only clear. He was prize D, of 1 of 4 different types of translucent EZ Collection figures, the other three being Bumblebee, Prowl, and Starscream.
*CYBERTRON Mode Optimus Prime (Deluxe, 2008)
**Accessories: Ion-axe

:Based on his pre-Earth Cybertronian look, the first version of Animated Optimus Prime transforms into a half-track Cybertronic truck which resembles the Mitsubishi Fuso Hybrid concept truck with some heavy sci-fi influences. As a half-track, instead of rear wheels, he has molded, caterpillar-linked tracks with smaller wheels inside for rolling along smooth surfaces. The hitch assembly becomes his axe, which can be wielded with one blade (for the rocket-boosted look) or have the single blade split to form a double-bladed axe. The truck roof can be mounted on his left arm as a shield or spread apart and attached to the axe to become giant energon blades.

:Prime's axe weapon is stored by partially folding the axe at the grey hinge near the handle peg, then placing the handle peg in a hole on the back of the cab (actually his two fists' holes, thus helping them hold it in position) with the blade facing down and a grey peg facing up, acting as a "fifth wheel" (known as a trailer hitch among fans), should one find a suitable trailer to attach onto it. The peg also resembles the rocket thruster on the back of Prime's axe in robot mode. The figure's superb range of articulation and long axe-handle actually allow Optimus to wield his weapon two-handed. This is sheer awesomeness.
**Japanese ID number: VS-F

:For its Japanese release, CYBERTRON Mode Optimus Prime was given a shinier metallic red paint job and white-bordered Autobot symbols, like the majority of the TakaraTomy Animated toys. The figure was only available in a 2-pack with a redecoed version of the Deluxe-scale Cybertronian Megatron from the Optimus Prime vs. Megatron: The Battle Begins set.

:The title of this set in Japanese is "hajimari no taiketsu" - which amounts to "the battle begins" when translated, but the back of the box chooses to render the phrase as "Fight of Start". Oh well...
*Optimus Prime vs. Megatron: The Battle Begins (Entertainment Pack, 2008)
**Accessories: Ion-Axe

:The Deluxe-class Earth Mode Optimus Prime has a very similar engineering design to the Deluxe-class Cybertron Mode Optimus Prime figure. He has a battle-damaged deco and comes with a Deluxe-class Cybertron Mode Megatron figure as well as a DVD featuring the first episode of Transformers Animated. He has a distinctively more "Generation 1" look than other Animated Primes, given the addition of smokestacks (a detail absent from the animation model) and a lack of black beneath the silver stripes. Like deluxe Megatron, he features a punching/axe slashing gimmick, where twisting his spring-loaded waist will make it snap back for a "robot punch." There are actually 4 wheels on his legs, so that the tires are always on the outside. Unfortunately, he can't skate on them like in the show. His axe (which is the most show-accurate out of all of his toys) stores in his aft section. As with Cybertron Mode Optimus, this figure even has enough articulation to hold his long-handled axe two-handed and raise it over his head for a massive chop. Brilliant.

:If you want to be pedantic about it, the battle implied by the battle-pack pairing is technically a timeline impossibility, insofar as it depicts Earth Mode Optimus versus Cybertron Mode Megatron. It is also scaled incorrectly, as Megatron was shown as being notably larger than Optimus in Transform and Roll Out.

: This toy was later re-released without changes in a 2-pack with Blackarachnia and was also redecoed in transluscent plastics and packaged with Rodimus by Takara in a Sons of Cybertron 2-pack.
**Accessories: Ion Axe/backpack, water cannon

:Part of the second wave of Voyager class toys, this Optimus transforms into a futuristic Earth-mode fire truck (well, the front half of one, at least). His rear portion includes a giant extinguisher cannon, which can become a hand weapon and really squirts water. His trailer also transforms into a giant, very non-show-accurate double-bladed ion axe. These weapons can store on his back, giving the appearance of wings and a jet pack. Like his deluxe-class toys, Prime can also hold his axe two-handed, albeit not as easily achieved compared to the deluxe versions. The toy features a mouthplate which can slide up to cover his face or retract down below. He also has an Automorph feature: Pressing a button on his...butt...flips down and rotates his...crotch...into the proper position for robot mode. Please, Hasbro, no more features in those areas.

:Voyager Optimus is the most show-accurate of the various Animated Optimuses (apart from his weapons, although his fist-holes are the same size as the Deluxe versions, so he can "borrow" their more accurate axes), and certainly the most scale-accurate when displayed alongside other figures that only exist in one primary size class like Prowl or Blackarachnia. The original release of this toy was notable amongst Animated figures for its lack of a faction symbol in either mode; later waves of the figure, however, have included a silver-on-white Autobot sigil on the robot mode's left shoulder to more closely reflect the animation model's detailing.

:This mold was retooled into 2011 Animated Motormaster.
**Accessories: Ion Axe/backpack, water cannon

:A dark red, black and gold redeco of the standard Voyager Optimus Prime, Optimus Prime Elite Guard Version was a mail-order exclusive from Japan's Million Publishing, requiring a coupon from their Animated Encyclopedia guidebook to purchase. It shares its color scheme with the EZ Collection Volume 4 Optimus Prime Elite Guard Version figure.

**Japanese ID number: TA-38
**Accessories: 'Wingblade' jetpack, Magnus Hammer

: Wingblade Optimus Prime is a translucent redeco of the Voyager Optimus Prime with attachable battle armor, representing Optimus as he appeared in "Endgame, Part I" and "II". It includes both his jetpack and a slightly scaled down version of the Magnus Hammer, in addition to the character's signature axe. In vehicle mode, the Wingblade jetpack and Magnus Hammer reassemble to become a winged trailer of sorts, which can be swapped out with the standard axe piece. His Wingblade jetpack and Magnus Hammer are said to be compatible with the Deluxe Class toy in both modes, but are extremely loose.

:Hasbro's release of this figure was to package the Wingblade armor and accessories with an "undirtied" redeco of the Deluxe The Battle Begins two-pack Optimus mold, rather than the Voyager TakaraTomy uses. It remains to be seen whether or not Hasbro's version will see an official release in the Western market.

:The new gauntlet hand attachment piece has two notches, one notch is for the included Magnus Hammmer and another notch in order to hold Ultra Magnus' Magnus Hammer as well.
*Roll Out Command Optimus Prime (Supreme, 2008)
**Japanese ID number: TA-41
**Accessories: Ultra-Axe

:This super-sized Prime figure is sculpted around one major gimmick: Rolling the toy forward in vehicle mode causes the cab to spin around, slowly unfolding into the robot mode torso. The legs are subsequently transformed manually, completing the robot mode. Pressing the Autobot insignia between Prime's windows and the lights on his roof both activate assorted electronic effects, including red LEDs in his lightbar, yellow LEDs in his headlights and eyes, and sound effects including engine revving noises, a siren, and four speech clips featuring the voice of David Kaye. In robot mode, Prime's (non-retractable) mouthplate jiggles up and down in time with his speech.

:Prime is armed with a particularly cartoon-accurate axe, which can be held in either hand, but which specifically interacts with his right one. Placing the axe in his fist and pressing the button on the back of his hand triggers the axe's pop-out translucent blades and rocket jet. Pushing down on the tab built into the back of his right shoulder extends the arm out fully, and releasing it lets Prime swing his axe down, accompanied by an electronic slashing noise. The left arm has a similar effect, except pushing the tab thrusts his arm forward in a punch, with accompanying sound effect.

:While Prime's legs have a high range of articulation like most Animated toys, his torso is heavily beholden to its gimmicks and features no effective articulation whatsoever; the only manipulable part of his body above his waist that isn't part of a gimmick is his right elbow.

:Many (all?) copies of this figure have the moving mouthplate default to the "down" position when not moving, rather than "up" or "at rest" as the box photography would indicate. This leads to the unfortunate impression that Optimus is either always mid-sentence...or a slack-jawed yokel.

:Like all Bumper Battlers is a simple one-step Transformer aimed at younger kids. He transforms by pushing the front bumper of his truck mode, which flips up a robot torso and upper thighs. Yup, that's right—if you smash him into a wall or other toys he will transform. Good luck finding a loose, mint version of this toy when you're on your nostalgia trip 10 years from now.

:In robot mode he actually has some limited articulation in his wrists, and his neck. Plus he's holding an adorable little axe in one hand.

:The toy has a sound chip that can be activated in either mode. It has two massive strings of phrases, battle sounds and voice effects, actived by either pressing his Autobot insignia or pressing his bumper (which also transforms him). Some phrases are recombined for more variation.

: This figure is close to but not identical to the Legends Optimus Prime sold in the Animated Stealth Lockdown multi-pack, however the single-carded Universe toy features a duller, darker blue.

:A simple version of Optimus Prime with a very simple transformation sequence. You transform him by pulling down the legs, rotating out the arms from the back, unfolding the forearms, flipping up the head, and sliding the toes forward. Rather unusual amongst the Animated McDonald's toys, which typically have one show-accurate mode and one non-show-accurate mode, Optimus manages to pull off both modes with reasonable accuracy. Armorhide figures that the only way to beat the Decepticons is to beat them at their own game. So he's extremely nasty, underhanded, and ruthless to the point of being murderous in combat. This puts him at odds with his teammates and earns him reprimands from Optimus Prime, but frankly Prime can stuff it in his reactor linkage as far as Armorhide is concerned. At least when he's paired up with Bumblebee, the mute Autobot can't raise a fuss.

Armorhide was part of the Autobot reinforcements. He was quite gung-ho about it, pointing out how the planet was doomed "unless we [did] something about it!" to Arcee - even though she already bloody knew this. Transformers Comic issue 9 When Starscream attacked, Armorhide declared he'd draw the Decepticon's fire, as he could take more punishment than the others - shockingly, this didn't work against a foe that can fly really fast. Armorhide joined his comrades in heading for Earth to make a last-ditch stand. Transformers Comic issue 11
He hated sentry duty, and was also rubbish at it. Transformers Comic issue 14
In one engagement to protect human infrastructure, he worked with Bumblebee and Arcee to protect an Alaskan oil pipeline from Payloads.
With the two of them, he was placed under Ironhide's command on a mission to Cybertron. He also found the time to paint himself green. Transformers Comic issue 17 He then changed his mind and decided to be blue-and-white again. More worrying than fashion, however, were a Decepticon force powered by Nucleon; even he knew it would be stupid to have a straight fight, and said as much. Instead, he and Arcee provided a distraction by making a tactical withdrawal. Transformers Comic issue 18
The chaos of Unicron's arrival ended the battle with the Decepticons, though Armorhide was annoyed to hear Stockade thought planet-warping death-gods were more important than killing him. He also found the time to go back to black. Transformers Comic issue 19 When Optimus Prime arrived and united both sides to drain the Nucleon from Unicron's new body, Armorhide was dispatched to work with Bumblebee in doing the actual draining. Transformers Comic issue 20
IDW Transformers Movie comics
Many years ago, Armorhide was a civilian during the reign of Protector Megatron and science division leader Optimus. This peaceful existence ended when a mysterious relic was discovered outside the temple of Simfur, and Megatron changed the military's mission of defending Cybertron to open conquest, Armorhide joined with Optimus Prime's new faction, the Autobots. He was hiding out at an Autobot facility when Ironhide arrived to offer his allegiance to Optimus. During the subsequent civil war, He was present when Optimus Prime revealed his plan to capture the All Spark, and due to the lack of space on the Ark, some Autobots would have to stay behind. Armorhide was among those who volunteered to stay. Defiance issue 4
Thousands of years later and shortly after the destruction of Megatron and the Cube on Earth, Armorhide part of a group of Autobots awaiting the order to move out and rescue fellow Autobots who had been captured by the Decepticons to build Starscream's new All Spark cube. Armorhide was pinned by Ramjet, and would have been killed if Crosshairs hadn't lopped the Decepticon's head off. He managed to escape with the other Autobots when Dreadwing's starship came crashing down to Trypticon, destroying the once-magnificent Decepticon city. The Reign of Starscream issue 5
Along with the other brainwashed Autobots, he was eager to return to battle but Optimus told them they still needed to recuperate after the mental trauma they'd suffered. Armorhide tried to refute this but accidentally proved Optimus wrong when he kept forgetting he was no longer on Cybertron and not talking to Sentinel Prime. Rising Storm issue 1 While Optimus and his team went to save Sam Witwicky from a Decepticon attack, Armorhide and the other refugees remained on Diego Garcia, nostalgically staring at pictures from Cybertron's past. Robert Epps and William Lennox commandeered Sector Seven assault buggy #52 for their trip to Mission City. When they left the buggy, it was taken over by an unknown Sector Seven driver. Buggy #52 seems to have survived Starscream's initial attack, but was damaged while fighting Devastator, and the driver injured. Lennox ordered his men to evac the injured driver as Jazz bought the retreating humans time against Megatron. Transformers (2007)
Four months before the events of Mission City, Sector Seven recovered the Decepticon Wreckage and reactivated him. Though at first the Decepticon was hostile, Agent Salazar was able to come to an agreement with the being and exchange information. One of the fruits of these exchanges was the development of Sector Seven's L.M.-1 series of drones. Alliance issue 2

In response to the threat of Starscream at the Hoover Dam, Salazar unveiled, the L.M.-1. At first it appeared to be just an armored buggy, but Starscream's curiosity was piqued when the vehicle began to transform and reveal limbs. Unfortunately the display was less than impressive as the process halted in mechanical failure The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Two Sector Seven retrieved L.M.-1 and took him back to a covert Nevada base, where they also held Longarm and Salvage. The Reign of Starscream issue 3

While awaiting for the Autobots to arrive to begin escorting the Decepticon remains, Professor Vine and Seymour Simmons reminisced about how Salazar's dealings with Wreckage and the creation of the L.M.-1s. As the group prepared to dump the Decepticon remains, Vine wondered if L.M.-1's mechanical failure had anything to do with Wreckage's earlier rampage and forced shut-down. Before long, the Decepticon was brought back online by the one remaining fragment of the All Spark. However, the shard also seemed to bring three L.M.-1 units online, who came to the defense of the humans. Wreckage promptly slagged them. Alliance issue 2
**Accessories: Auto-grenade launcher, AllSpark cube (Japanese release only)

: As part of the "Power" portion of the movie line, Landmine transforms into a Sector Seven assault buggy of the type seen in the movie, which in turn is a heavily modified Chenowth Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV) with added protective armor. He has several S7 markings over his chassis. The rear of the vehicle sports an identification number of G2G-534. He features spring-loaded shock absorbers on all of his vehicle-mode wheels, plus a roof-mounted cannon on an articulated arm.

: Landmine features two Automorph gimmicks. The first is a spring-loaded front end, retracting his front wheels into his chest during transformation. The second is a sliding panel on each of his shins that retracts when the tail light/knee caps are moved into place.

: In robot mode, his grenade launcher can be back-mounted to make an over-shoulder cannon, or held in his hand. He also has wheels on the soles of his feet, which let him roll in robot mode... in theory, at least, since his heel-wheels rub against his legs, keeping them from spinning freely.

: Like all Japanese "AllSpark Power" toys, the Takara version of Landmine comes with a small Allspark cube accessory that's not included with the Hasbro version. Landmine himself has a slightly different base plastic color and rubber tires.

:Landmine was later redecoed into Revenge of the Fallen Armorhide and Dark of the Moon Cometter. He's a non-transformable Hot Wheels-like car, with his robot mode sculpted and painted onto his underside. He has through-axle construction similar to the Generation 2 Go-Bots, letting him zip along smooth surfaces (and compatible racetrack sets) at high speed.
* Landmine's vehicle form is directly based on a specific Sector Seven assault buggy seen in the movie. This makes him the only newly created mold from the movie toyline for a character who's not part of the movie cast that is a faithful recreation of the vehicle the toy is based on, without any major artistic liberties taken to circumvent licensing fees, such as Longarm, Arcee, Incinerator or Stockade.

: An all-new Ironhide tooling that packs considerable accuracy into his small, simple design. Unlike the Voyager class toy, Legends Ironhide stores his cannons in the truck's bed. He comes with a desert scheme redeco of Legends class Blackout.

: Amusingly, this version of Ironhide is one of only two American toy releases that has full-length exhaust stacks. Also, there are many complaints about the fists sticking out of the back of the truck and the weird truck proportions.

Voyager Class toys
*Ironhide (Voyager Class, 2007)
**Japanese ID Number: MA-09
**Accessories: Left & right cannons, 4 missiles

:Ironhide transforms into a modified black 2006 GMC Topkick 4500 four-wheel drive pickup truck. Although Hasbro's official stock photos and early packaged samples featured two real-life accurate full length exhaust smokestacks behind the rear cabin, they have been slightly shortened for safety and durability reasons for the actual release of the toy. Otherwise, however, the vehicle mode is very accurate to the real prop truck... well, aside from the fact that Ironhide's massive missile launchers are quite visible underneath the vehicle. Despite rumors to the contrary, TakaraTomy's Japanese release of the toy features the same shortened smokestacks as the Hasbro version.

:Ironhide features an Automorph gimmick in his legs during transformation: As the user swings down his feet, all of the panels that make up his legs automatically shift and fold into place. This gimmick does not affect Ironhide's articulation. Confusingly, the instructions omit the exact positioning of the roof panels and rear window on his back, though they can fold into a compact design for maximum articulation.

:In robot mode, his arm-mounted cannons are inactive while mounted on both arms. However, detaching the left arm cannon and combining it with the right arm creates a huge functional missile launcher that is almost as big as Ironhide himself. The missile-launching mechanism itself isn't the typical spring-loaded button design, instead relying on a pressure-launch system to fire the missiles from the four barrels.

:The peg that holds his windshield is prone to cracking, which makes it become loose, and might even result in breakage.

:Released as part of the "Allspark Power" refresh of the Movie toyline, Offroad Ironhide is a fairly extensive redeco of Voyager class Ironhide in colors reminiscent of the Generation 2 Go-Bot Motormouth. As he's now made of several colors of plastic, he's no longer the most monochromatic toy in the 2007 Movie line.
**Accessories: Left & right cannons, 4 missiles

:Premium Ironhide is a redeco of the previous released Voyager class Ironhide, painted in a gloss black finish, silver trim on his smokestacks, Road Armor winch and side turn signal detailing, but with them are several inaccurate deco additions including silver detailing to the rims, frosted windows, silver paint on the roof ridges and a large Autobot sigil tampographed onto the hood.

:In robot mode Ironhide is considerably more accurate with gold and gunmetal detailing colors which were missing from the first Voyager release. His large cannons are now molded in mostly black plastic, then painted metallic teal with gold detailing.

:Part of the Fast Action Battlers line, "Cannon Blast" Ironhide is a simpler version of the larger toy, geared more towards the younger set who might find the big toy too complicated to transform. He still transforms into the customized GMC Topkick. He features a spring-loaded missile launcher in his left cannon. But, thanks to the simpler transformation, the hood and wheels trap his arms below the wheel. He can't punch or aim his cannon at all, and the elbows have no articulation but swiveling that knocks the arm off his body.
*Ironhide (Cyber Slammer, 2008)

:Cyber Slammers Ironhide is an amazingly cute GMC Topkick that transforms into an amazingly cute trigger happy weapons specialist. 'Slam' his robot mode down into car mode and he rolls along, slowly transforming back up into robot mode. Like most Cyber Slammers, Ironhide manages to cram most of his vehicle mode's major details into a compact, super-deformed version of that mode. Interestingly enough, this is the only pre-Revenge of the Fallen merchandise to feature Ironhide's scarred right eye.
**Accessories: Missile launcher cannon, energy cannon, projectile

: Revenge of the Fallen Voyager class Ironhide is a retool of the toy from the 2007 Transformers movie line. The original arm cannons have been replaced by new, more accurate (and less gimmicky) cannons that can be connected together and mounted on top of Ironhide's truck bed cover. The truck bed cover and arm mountings for this Ironhide's cannons are unchanged from the 2007 movie line voyagers. So any voyager Ironhide can carry and use both the original and new weapons. The large cannon features screwdriving firing action in which the barrel section twists forward before firing the missile. The small cannon can retract its barrel and has a 5mm hole on its underside that allows it to plug into the peg on the large cannon like a scope if so desired. Since the weapons can connect to each other, the figure (and all other uses of this mold) can hold these and the combined 2007 cannons at once. All four cannons can fit on his truck mode as well, the old ones underneath and the new ones on top. Ironhide's head has been replaced with a more accurate, asymmetrical head. Ironhide also features a new grey colour scheme with some red pin stripes and a NEST logo on each of his doors.

: According to the box pictures and instructions, the small cannon is misassembled. The gray sliding shaft is actually reversed from the direction it is supposed to be facing. This doesn't affect anything, but can be easily fixed by loosening the screws on the black outer section, sliding out the shaft, then turning it around and putting it back in.

: A packaging variant determines whether the missile is loaded or unloaded in the box.
**Accessories: Assault rifle, minigun, knife, bullbar/crossbow, projectile

:Recon Ironhide is an extensive retool, replacing his doors with military Humvee-style armoured door panels, adding a roof/truck bed-mounted lighting rig/weapons rack and replacing his Road Armor fender with a massive bullbar that can be removed and converted into a spring-loaded crossbow weapon. Ironhide's traditional arm-mounted weapons have been replaced with the aforementioned crossbow, a smaller version of his arm mounted cannon, an assault rifle, a minigun, and two combat knives. In one of the first intentional uses of the C joint system (if not the first), either knife can be attached to the front of the rifle as a bayonet, and the rifle and mini gun can be clipped to the sides of his arm mounted weapons (the guns and knives can also be attached to the front of his arm cannon). The two rifles and knives can also be attached to his backpack rails in robot mode. Think he's armed enough yet? Additionally, this retool of Ironhide includes a new headsculpt featuring his battle mask.

:In an unfortunate change, all of Ironhide's (newly-tooled) windows are now cast in opaque plastic, compared to the translucent plastic seen on previous versions of this toy.

:A new-sculpt Deluxe-sized figure of Ironhide, with an almost ridiculously movie-accurate (and surprisingly stable) robot mode. His smokestacks are of the long variety, and his head is the second (after Voyager Recon Ironhide) to be sculpted in "battle mask" mode. The toy comes with a transforming weapon accessory, his missile turret from the Revenge of the Fallen video game. Sadly, this goes at the expense of a movie-accurate cannon for the left arm. The turret can stay attached to his arm when transforming back to his vehicle mode, thanks to a hard to notice joint on the other arm's cannon flipping open to allow more room, ensuring no chance of losing this accessory. In an undocumented feature, the turret can also attach to the back of Ironhide's vehicle mode by slotting two of its legs into two small holes on the truck bed, the third leg can them be positioned forward and slot into a groove on the back of the cab. This can be quite difficult however if (in another undocumented feature) you do not fully extend the turret's legs which are attached to a black piece which allows all 3 legs to fold down further than just pulling each one out individually; this allows for a greater range of movement and allows the turret to be aimed upwards.
Among the items on the list were "Transformers Combiners and Speed Star Mini-Vehicle" and "Transformers Activator and Speed Star Mini-Vehicle." According to this discussion thread on Allspark.com, Speed Stars Metal Heroes Ironhide was one of the figures distributed.
:Part of the 2010 McDonald's Revenge of the Fallen promotion, Ironhide does not transform but features a "punching/firing" mechanism instead, a switch on his back rocks his arms forwards and backwards in an alternating motion. Ironhide features blue light-piping, an unexpected feature for a fast food promotional toy, but does not feature any form articulation. He was only available during week 5 of the promotion, and came with an instruction sheet that doubles as an ad for McWorld, featuring an exclusive code for the website.
*GMC TopKick 4500 Ironhide Edition (2007)

:As reported at Edmunds, Monroe Truck Equipment, in association with Hasbro, released a GMC TopKick 4500 Ironhide special edition featuring most of the modifications made to the Ironhide vehicle props used in the movie, with the only difference being that the truck will retain its stock orange running lights (the movie used blue) and the large stock sideview mirrors.

:Sadly, installing a grumpy trigger-happy alien robot and deadly high-tech weaponry into the works is not part of the included modifications. Production on the GMC Topkick truck ceased when General Motors exited the medium-duty truck market in 2009.
