Terrorcon
:The Terrorcons are a Decepticon subgroup from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Sometimes it's hard to take the Terrorcons seriously. Even for Decepticons, they've got a bunch of personality problems, not to mention a lack of decency. Individually, they're not much, and it's not very hard to outsmart them. One on one, an Autobot would probably win.

Then you actually meet the Terrorcons as a group, and you pray that Primus has mercy on you, because the Terrorcons sure as hell won't. They'll kill you for a bunch of reasons: orders, sport, boredom, a dare. They're not what you'd call soldiers, warriors, or even brawlers. They're animals, and they bring that thought pattern to everything they do, including their choice of altmodes, which are the forms of frightening beasts. They're all positively insane.

The Terrorcons consist of:

*The brilliant yet gluttonous Hun-Gurrr (leader)
*The superiority obssessed Rippersnapper
*The disgusting Blot
*The predatory Sinnertwin
*The overly-violent Cutthroat

They combine to form the incredibly destructive (but surprisingly cute) Abominus.

The Terrorcons accompanied Galvatron to acquire anti-electrons from Unicron's disembodied head. During the adventure, they were attacked by Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Kup. They managed to get the upper hand, but were quickly attacked by the newly made Technobots. The Terrorcons formed Abominus, but thanks to the sacrifice of Grimlock's super intelligence, the Technobots formed Computron, and defeated the Terrorcons. Grimlock's New Brain

Soon afterwards, the Terrorcons were now under the control of the Quintessons for no apparent reason. Hun-Grr was dispatched to attack Dirk Manus, a human smuggler who had discovered a device of great value. The Terrorcons had been modified by the Quintessons to disassemble from their Abominus form after a short period of time, which was their undoing: Computron detected the timer devices and activated it, forcing the Terrorcons and Quintessons into retreat. Money Is Everything

The Terrorcons were among the Decepticons fighting the Autobots on Earth's Moon. They formed Abominus on Galvatron's command, but soon disassembled and left with the other "primitive" Transformers when the Primacron's assistant called them away to fight the powerful Tornedron. The Terrorcons were the only primitives to fight the energy-draining Tornedron with something other than energy-based weaponry, but were quickly defeated. Call of the Primitives

Late in the year 2006, the Terrorcons attacked Gregory Swofford and Mark Morgan's laboratory to steal their new heat-and-radiation-resistant alloy. The fight between Abominus and Computron caused significant damage to the lab and seriously injured Morgan's daughter, Jessica, leading the two scientists to plot revenge on all the Transformers by infecting them with the Hate plague. Nice going there, guys. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1
The Terrorcons were among the many Decepticons under the command of Scorponok on Cybertron. Ring of Hate! They journeyed with their squad to the world of Nebulos, in pursuit of Fortress Maximus's Autobots. The mighty warrior Blot was chosen to participate in the Decepticons' initial attack on the Nebulans and Autobots in the capital city of Koraja. Broken Glass!

On Nebulos, the Terrorcons had a terrific time terrorizing organic creatures in the city of Splendora, till the Technobots showed up and kicked their tails. Combining into Abominus didn't help much, as it basically provided Computron with a larger target. Love and Steel!

The Terrorcons later traveled with Scorponok to the Mercury Gardens of Melanossus in response to an Autobot sighting there. The newly-minted Targetmaster Autobots proved to be a fair match for them; only the Autobots' concern for the Gardens' well-being ended the battle, as they retreated to prevent further damage to them. Brothers in Armor!!

The Terrorcons, along with the rest of the Decepticons, left Nebulos soon after, journeying to the planet Earth. Trial by Fire! There they participated in various battles, most notably against Ratbat's forces, Cold War! then briefly against an Autobot force under Optimus Prime's command. Shortly thereafter, they were deactivated by the Underbase-empowered Starscream and not seen again. Dark Star (issue)

Marvel UK Future Timelines
After Soundwave took command of the Decepticons, the Terrorcons were part of Soundwave's elite soldiers, accompanying him to the past during the Time Wars snafu.
Devil's Due G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers comics
Hun-Grrr and Rippersnapper attended a Decepticon gathering called together by Serpent O.R., who was looking to recruit more fighters to his cause. Hun-Grrr was skeptic to being ordered around by such a tiny leader, but was suitably convinced when Serpent O.R. proved to be the "son" of Megatron. The Art of War issue 3 Rippersnapper later helped defend the Decepticon base from a combined Autobot/[[G.I.
The Terrorcons are Sixshot's biggest fans. They hope to one day be as powerful and feared as the Decepticons' number one mercenary. They are also the closest thing Sixshot has to "friends", as every other Decepticon is scared to death of the guy. The Terrorcons went on a mission to Mumu-Obscura where they were taken prisoner by Deathbringer and the Reapers. Sixshot came to their rescue, and though he was tempted to join the Reapers after Deathbringer extended an offer, Sixshot refused to pass the final test for membership: kill the Terrorcons. The Reapers accepted Sixshot's rejection and allowed him to leave with his "friends". Spotlight: Sixshot
: The Terrorcons are a Scramble City-style combiner team: four simple, small figures who form the limbs of the combined form, sold carded at the $5 price point, and one larger leader who forms the central torso, sold boxed at $12. They can combine with members of any other Scramble City-style combiner team, or join together to form Abominus.

: The small toys are fairly simplistic, even for Scramble City limbs. Most of their transformations consist of flipping out the beast torso to form "legs", and flipping back the beast head to reveal the robot head. The robot forms are exceedingly kibble-laden, with beast arms, legs, heads, tails and wings all hanging off, hoping not to be noticed. They also tend to have rather stunted robot-mode arms. Articulation is limited to a single swivel joint at each shoulder, and knee joints (not very useful due to their fused unifeet.) Beast mode articulation is much more wide-ranging, with most beast limbs having a swivel joint. They can wield their guns in either mode.

: The team does not share common plastic colors, but their collective palette is dominated by light gray, yellow, blue, purple and magenta.
Madman Entertainment is an Australian company that distributes anime and manga to Australia and New Zealand, and are also the official distributor of several locally-authored Transformers DVD sets. Their sets are typified by an enthusiastic array of extras and exclusive features (which are often a little on the dodgy side).

They have released DVDs of:

Generation 1
*Transformers: The Movie — Released in 2003 featuring a reversible cover that has exclusive art by Don Figueroa, a creation of the cover gallery; theatrical trailer; Transformers TV commercials; cast and crew bios and The Touch music video by Stan Bush. The video quality on the original Madman release of the movie is decidedly worse than most other DVD versions released. The special features also suffer from quality problems -- they look bloody terrible. Stan Bush's "The Touch" in particular is very yellow, looking like it was transferred from a 7th generation VCR copy. Remember when we said before that the Madman special features were enthusiastic but dodgy? Well, that's what we meant, mate.

*Transformers: Generation 1 Seasons 1 to 4 — Broken into 6 boxsets, featuring artwork from Dreamwave's More Than Meets The Eye profile books; the five public service announcements; Atari's Transformers game trailers; a commentary track with voice director Wally Burr; all of the interviews from Rhino's US Generation 1 DVDs and a few new interviews for Madman. The Season 1 sets used the original broadcast masters also used by Maverick Entertainment licensed from TV Loonland, which results in a less sharp and colourful image quality compared to Rhino's release but on the plus side does not contain the many animation errors that plagued Rhino's. Season 2 and thereafter uses the Rhino video. All of these sets use Rhino's 5.1 audio soundtrack, complete with the added-in sound effects.

*The Best of Transformers (Generation 1) — A two DVD set featuring 10 episodes of Generation 1 as voted by Australian fans featuring the IDW 'I Want YOU' Optimus Prime cover.

*Transformers: The Movie Special Edition — Released in 2007, the cover art is from IDW's adaptation of the animated movie, and features slightly different extras, including the previously available The Touch music video. Perhaps the greatest difference between this release and the US Sony release is that the Scramble City feature retains the original Japanese audio, with subtitles and has the original full-screen version of the movie on the second disc.

*Transformers: Generation 1 Complete Collection Autobot Edition — Released to take advantage of the nostalgia and interest generated by the live action movie, this set is packaged in a box similar to the Generation 1 Optimus Prime's toy packaging and features the Generation 1 boxart images of both Optimus Prime &amp; Megatron, with the disc cases stored in a metal tin. The DVD cases feature IDW incentive cover art by Guido Guidi; an exclusive mini-comic set in 2001 before the animated movie written by Simon Furman, illustrated by Nick Roche and Josh Burcham; as well as a piece of artwork featuring Optimus Prime's Matrix chamber also illustrated by Roche and Burcham. The discs are identical to Madman's previous Generation 1 release.

*Transformers: Generation 1 Complete Collection Decepticon Edition - In 2009, with the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen sequel to the 2007 live-action movie, Madman's Generation 1 DVDs were re-released yet again, this time in a Decepticon-themed tin and faux toy packaging. The previously released Complete Collection has been retroactively renamed "Autobot Edition".

*Transformers: The Headmasters Collection — Released in November 2007, this DVD set features all-new cover art by Guido Guidi and a "making of the cover" gallery; an introductory booklet with episode guide; character art galleries; Seibertron.com Headmasters toy galleries; Japanese toy commercials and the English dub of the series alongside the original Japanese audio and English subtitles. It is quite similar to Metrodome's Takara collection Headmasters DVDs, even duplicating the subtitle errors present in that version. However, this set lacks the audio commentary by Chris McFeely.

*Transformers: Super God Masterforce Collection — Released in February 2008, this DVD set features all-new cover art by Guido Guidi and a "making of the cover" gallery; an introductory booklet with episode guide; character art galleries; Masterforce toy galleries and Japanese toy commercials. This set is again quite similar to Metrodome's Masterforce DVDs, though lacking the Chris McFeely audio commentaries it does include the English dub of the series on select episodes alongside the original Japanese audio and English subtitles. (Un?)fortunately, only episodes 1, 4, 41 and 42 got the option of the whacked out english tracks.

:Much like Metrodome's release of Masterforce, Madman advertised this set as being region free, but in reality it is encoded in Region 4.

*Transformers: Victory Collection - Released in May 2008, this set is again quite similar to Metrodome's Victory DVDs (as usual lacking McFeely's audio commentaries), it does include the English dub of the series alongside the original Japanese audio.

:Its special features include all new cover art by that awesome bloke E.J. Su; an introductory booklet with episode guide; box art galleries; toy galleries of Victory and Zone toys (with pictures from Seibertron.com and transformerstoys.co.uk) and Japanese toy commercials (which are all for Zone toys, and include what appears to be an industry pitch reel used to demonstrate the toys to retailers). Transformers: Zone is also included as a special feature, as well as scans of the TV Magazine Zone story pages available via DVD-ROM (As translated by Hydra and Jeff Stein for Black Gears and the Allspark.com). In keeping with Madman's dodgy enthusiasm there's a bunch of seemingly random (sometimes translated, sometimes not) scans of Manga and story-page material for Battlestars and Operation: Combination included in the set as well.

*Japan Generation 1: Complete Collection - To capitalize on the release of Revenge of the Fallen, all three of the Japanese Generation 1 cartoons were re-released in one package at a lower price point ($99.95AUD versus $150-odd AUD).

Beast Wars
*Beast Wars Seasons 1 to 3 — Released in 2006, and broken into 3 boxsets with the first ever Beast Wars DVD commentary tracks featuring Ben Yee, story editors Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio on all three sets. Commentary tracks by Simon Furman, Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil, Alec Willows and Mainframe directors and animators are available in Season 3. Other features include all-new interviews with some of the aforementioned cast members and David Kaye; an lengthy interview conducted by Ben Yee with the story editors; animation tests and early CGI models; various international introduction sequences and Seibertron.com Beast Wars toy galleries. Additionally, as Mainframe is a PAL production house and Australia uses PAL, there is no (or at least less) loss in visual quality on the DVD transfer compared to Rhino's release of Beast Wars.

:The features on the sets, in keeping with Madman's enthusiastic but low-budget approach get better on each set. The first set's commentary tracks feature some of the worst audio ever used on a DVD commentary -- with the voices barely audible and sometimes completely drowned out by traffic noises. The other sets are not quite so bad, with the third the most polished (and rich) in special features.

*Transformers: Beast Wars - Complete Collection - Like the Decepticon Edition Complete Collection and Japanese Generation 1 collection, this set is a re-release of the three previously-released volumes of Beast Wars. The packaging uses various covers by Don Figueroa and Guido Guidi from IDW Publishing's The Gathering comic book.
Trivia
* According to an interview on Seibertron.com with Generation 1 voice actor Frank Welker, a representative of Madman gave Mr. Welker a pre-release version of the Generation 1 Complete Collection DVD set in the hopes of securing an interview to be included on the final version of the set. This did not evidently pan out as the disc content is the same as Madman's 2004 Generation 1 releases.
*No, seriously mate, Madman is awesome. Dodgy, but enthusiastic. They couldn't be more Aussie.
Investigating a mysterious land subsidence in Canada, Mach and Tackle uncover the Breastforce's latest plot.

:English/Malay dub name: "The Underground Water Electricity Plant"

Synopsis
Somewhere in southern Canada, in the middle of a massive cornfield, a farmer named Old Tom is about to take some extreme measures to get rid of a prairie dog that's been digging up his land. Before he can push the plunger that will detonate the dynamite he's laid in the field, however, the ground beneath his feet quakes, and he runs for his life as the field collapses into a massive crater.

News of the subsidence prompts Star Saber to send Machtackle to investigate, and the Multiforce warrior soon tracks down Old Tom telling patrons of a nearby bar about the event (exaggerating his own athletic abilities in the process). Always out for a quick buck, Tom offers to show anyone who wants to see, at which point Machtackle knocks on the window to avail of the offer. Tom takes the presence of a giant robot in stride and leads him up to the fields, where Machtackle divides into Mach and Tackle to investigate thoroughly. The pair deduce that an underground river had been flowing beneath the field, but that its flow suddenly stopped, causing the land to collapse. Suspecting Decepticon involvement, they alert Star Saber, who refuses Wingwaver's request to go to the aid of his teammate.

As night begins to settle in, Mach and Tackle head west, following the run off of the Rocky Mountains in hopes of locating the cause of the land collapse. They come upon what appears to be a human factory, but while Mach is taken in by the façade, Tackle realizes that there is no guard, and no road leading to the gate. The factory is, in fact, a cover for a subterranean hydroelectric power plant assembled by the Breastforce, which is responsible for draining the river and causing the land collapse. As Mach radios the other Autobots to inform them of their discovery, Drillhorn picks up his broadcast, and Leozack orders the other Breastforcers to spring into action, even as Star Saber and the Multiforce race to Mach and Tackle's aid.

While Mach manages to lure Hellbat into the nearby forest and entangle him in a cluster of trees, Tackle camouflages himself with dirt and grass as he prepares for Jarugar. Mach nearly gives him away when he radios to let him know that he has dispatched Hellbat, but Tackle is able to pull off his plan and bring Jarugar down. A brief argument between the two Multiforcers ensues, but when they hear Killbison approaching, they decide to adopt a new tactic, and recombine in a new configuration as Tacklemach! The dim Killbison doesn't even realize who Tacklemach is at first, but realization soon dawns, and Tacklemach finds himself being chased through the forest by the Decepticons' Breast Animal. Just as the creature is closing, Star Saber drops out of the sky and seizes it, hurling it into Killbison and taking both of them out of the picture.

Back at the Decepticons' power plant, the other Multiforcers are battling with automated weapon defense systems. Leozack instructs Drillhorn to seal the entrance shaft, but Drillhorn refuses, because the other Breastforcers haven't returned. Star Saber, Mach and Wing approach the factory from above and are able to enter through the open shaft, getting the drop on the two Decepticons. Mach and Wing seize Drillhorn and slam him into the factory's control console, accidentally triggering the self-destruct system and forcing the two Decepticons to flee. The three Autobots manage to fly out of the base just before it goes up in flames.

Back in Old Tom's field, the money-hungry farmer is showing a group of people the crater, when suddenly a huge geyser of water bursts out of it and sprays high into the sky. The destruction of the Decepticons' base has returned the underground river to its natural flow, and consequently, the crater becomes a huge lake as the river fills it. Tom is dismayed at the end of his tourist business, but as the Autobots make plans to fill the land in for him, he suggests that they hold off, so that he can try his hand at fish farming instead.

Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
* Old Tom appears to assume the massive subsidence is the prairie dogs trying to scare him.
* He also insists on payment from Machtackle in exchange for taking the Autobot to his farm.
* His seemingly random question of whether Machtackle knows Ninjutsu is replaced by him exclaiming in surprise that the Autobot can separate into two.
* Tacklemach still refers to himself as Machtackle.
* When Leozack is about to seal the plant, Drillhorn is concerned the rest of the Breastforce might get killed, rather than doubting he and Leozack can defend the base alone. Aw, he really cares.

Animation and technical errors
* During the explosion of the base, there's a frame or two where the explosion is missing, revealing the intact buildings.

Real world references
This episode features quite a few unusual Japanese cultural references and hand motions that are likely to puzzle (and in some cases, leave slack-jawed) Western viewers.

* When Mach radios Star Saber, the communication ends with Old Tom popping up onscreen and… giving Star Saber the finger. The old coot doesn't mean anything bad by it, however—in Japan, the gesture lacks the offensive connotation it has in the west, and is often used as a silly, random thing in manga and anime. Killbison also does it later in the episode.
* When Killbison attacks Tacklemach, he emits one of those Japanese nonsense-words that is said for emphasis of action (if you're ever watched a fansub, you probably know "sorya" as one). Bizarrely, he transitions from screaming this into screaming "Sōran! Sōran-to!", which are (equally nonsensical) lyrics from a Japanese folk song, "Sōran Bushi." As a final bit of punctuation, he screams one final lyric from the song—"A SEAGULL ON THE OPEN SEA!" That Killbison, he so crazy.
* The final shot of the episode is Old Tom making a hand gesture in which he touches the tips of his thumb and index finger in a circle. In the west, of course, we know this as the symbol for "okay", but in Japanese culture, it means "money", referring to the scheme Tom's just cooked up.

Miscellaneous trivia
* There was a two-week break between the airing of this episode and the previous one.
* This is the only time in the entire Victory series that any of the Multiforce change their combination pattern (as well as probably the most prominent use of any of the singular Multiforce members). Way to promote the gimmicks of your toys, there!
* The English dub of this episode included on the R4 DVDs has the dubbed narration intact over the trailer for the next episode.
:—Hellbat wedged between two trees with different lines.

"I've lived here a long time, but I've never seen a live robot."<br>
"Please don't call me a robot. My name's Machtackle"<br>
"Oh, you've got a name too? Well, I still prefer 'robot'."
:—Old Tom and Machtackle

"But you know I'd look like a colander if he'd managed to shoot me with that gun."
:—Tackle

"Come and get me if you can!" (whirls nunchuck and makes martial arts noises)<br>
"I don't want that thing up my rear!"
:—Killbison and Tacklemach
