The Firecons were sent to Earth to attempt to pursuade [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] to form an alliance with the Decepticons on Cybertron. On Earth they engaged in battle with the [[Sparkabot]]s (referred to here as the Sparkler Mini-Bots) who had been sent to Earth by [[Springer]] to keep watch on Galvatron.
