When Starscream and the other standard Seekers just aren't enough, call in the Air Warriors. Sometimes they're explicitly drones and sometimes they're just quietly single-minded, depending on the continuity. But they're always obedient, determined, and ruthless.
When the Decepticons first awoke on Earth, the core group of warriors was reinforced by a number of unnamed Seekers. While they participated in battles and resource-gathering like their comrades, they never showed more than dronelike independence. Two were heard to speak, with one displaying enough of a sense of self-preservation to retreat from a battle with Sunstreaker and Sideswipe and get its injuries repaired, and the other providing its injured partner with an escort. (However, one sounded just like Thundercracker and the other a lot like Skywarp, so make of that what you will.) More than Meets the Eye, Part 2

They were last seen fighting the Autobots before Megatron launched the newly built space cruiser. More than Meets the Eye, Part 3 After its crash, the Earthbound Seeker ranks were reduced to the standard three. Their disappearance was never mentioned, so their specific fate is unknown. It is possible that they were destroyed in the crash.

Air Warriors are "ruthless killing machines" with a "no-nonsense attitude" and "lack of compassion." They also have a motto ("I will control the skies") and an intelligence Tech Spec of 5. Whether this makes them drones or not is unclear. Either way, they are dedicated to destroying Autobot sympathizers with their cluster bombs and laser-guided missiles.

Dreamwave comics continuity
Some time before the Great Shutdown, Megatron and Optimus Prime were lost in a space bridge accident. When Megatron returned millennia later, he brought with him the "Aerospace Extermination Squadron," a million-strong fleet of Seeker drones which he quickly used to dominate Cybertron. The Age of Wrath

After capturing the planet, the drones policed the Autobot slaves. Progressing from one task to the next with no sign of true self-awareness, they communicated amongst themselves in sentence fragments via radio or perhaps telepathy. Megatron tasked Shockwave with reverse-engineering the cloning device that produced them. Shockwave asked him where it had come from, but Megatron refused to divulge that he had received it from the Quintessons. The Age of Wrath Pt.2 Interestingly, he had started the war to fight against Quintessons who had infiltrated the Council of Ancients, so it's unclear how this move would jibe with his greater plans. The Route of All Evil

At least one drone showed an ability to materialize additional armaments in flashes of light. It nearly destroyed a team of Autobots singlehandedly, but they managed to subdue it with an inhibitor claw designed by Perceptor. The Age of Wrath Pt.3

The Aerospace Extermination Squadron was eventually defeated somehow, and their bodies were all "zapped into space." Lost and Found (issue) By the modern day, at least a few of them had ended up on the planet of Junk, resembling Earth-adapted Seekers for some reason. Generation One issue 0 When Megatron was brought to that world by Wreck-Gar, he had the Junkion gather and restore three drones. (Then he destroyed Wreck-Gar for his troubles.) Runnin' with the Devil He took the drones to the planet Beest to recruit the Predacons. Welcome to the Jungle The growing troupe then headed to Cybertron, where Megatron used a drone to lure out two of Shockwave's warriors, Astrotrain and Blitzwing. The Triple Changers made short work of the drone but were ambushed by Razorclaw. Blitzwing refused to surrender and was destroyed; however, Astrotrain joined Megatron's band and helped him overthrow Shockwave. Lost and Found (issue)

Near the dawn of time, while the Thirteen were struggling with the threat of Unicron, Megatronus Prime commissioned Solus Prime to create a weapon of incredible destruction to use against the Chaos Bringer. Solus Prime had strong reservations, but after a long period of time managed to create the Requiem Blaster. She gathered the interested members of the Thirteen to witness a test of its powers, and leveled a mountain. She pointed out that power corrupts and worried that the existence of such a weapon could possibly lead to their own downfall. Ultimately, the Thirteen voted seven to six to keep the Requiem Blaster and not destroy it.

It was Solus Prime's sudden murder at the hands of the enraged Megatronus Prime that caused the first major schism in the Thirteen. After Megatronus Prime became The Fallen and was defeated by the remnants of the Thirteen, a tomb was fashioned for Solus Prime out of a meteor and set adrift in the stars, reachable only by a series of Space Bridges.

Countless years later, Optimus Prime came across Solus Prime's tomb while searching for a mystical artifact. A semi-sentient hologram of Solus Prime appeared and warned Optimus and his Autobots to leave. Solus Prime directed them towards a Space Bridge which would take them to the location of the lost Requiem Blaster.

In the last days before the war, Alpha Trion was "The Archivist of Iacon," head overseer of the planet's Hall of Records, a place where all the information on the planet's history was stored, locked away...and promptly forgotten. It was a fitting position, as Alpha Trion himself had been placed there by Sentinel Prime to be forgotten as a relic of history...but the elderly Autobot was more than he appeared. A truly ancient and powerful being, Alpha Trion dates from the days of Cybertron's birth. A first-generation child of Primus, he is a member of the Thirteen original Transformers, the secret, forgotten guardian of two powerful artifacts: the oracular Covenant of Primus and the reality-bending Quill.

Something of a mentor to a young monitor named Orion Pax, Alpha Trion set him on the path to his destiny as Optimus Prime.

He is one of the original 13 so he also holds the rank of Prime.

Fiction
Exodus
Alpha Trion was informed by Orion Pax of an upstart Kaonian gladiator named Megatronus, and was played a recording of his speeches regarding a Cybertronian's right to self determination, defying the caste system. Alpha Trion acknowledged that Megatronus's tirades were the fruit of a society that discouraged ambition.

When terrorists began bombing Cybertron, Alpha Trion saw the gladiator — whose name was shortened to Megatron — and Orion make speeches on the Grid, protesting Megatron was not involved in what happened. When Orion returned to Iacon, Alpha Trion asked him why he trusted Megatron. Orion felt Megatron would have claimed responsibility for the attacks if he were behind them. Awed by Orion's intuition and empathy for the lower class Cybertronians in Kaon, Alpha Trion wondered if Orion was the Prime foretold in the Covenant: the Prime that would save Cybertron from a civil war. When Sentinel was kidnapped, Orion requested Alpha Trion arrange a hearing with the High Council. Alpha Trion oblidged and passed on his beliefs about Orion to the Councilors, and it was at the hearing Halogen renamed Orion Optimus Prime: the act that angered Megatron and tore the planet into Autobots and Decepticons.

Alpha Trion recorded the events of war in the Covenant. On the Communication Grid he witnessed the beautiful and terrible destruction of Crystal City. He continued maintaining the Hall of Records with a skeleton crew, but he felt the stirrings of battle in his Spark, proclaiming he would fight once more if the Decepticons broke the siege of Iacon. Optimus visited after the victory of Kalis, asking if they could win the war itself. Alpha Trion replied only a being who could tell the future could answer that, and it was then he revealed to Optimus it was he who suggested that the High Council appoint him Prime.

When Megatron discovered the existence of Dark Energon on Trypticon Station, Alpha Trion sensed what happened and told the Autobots of the essence of Unicron, revealing he had deleted much of the information regarding Trypticon's purpose from the DataNet as he felt knowledge of it was too dangerous. When Megatron attempted to steal the Plasma energy Chamber, Alpha Trion informed Optimus that Teletraan-1 had reactivated Omega Supreme. Afterwards, Alpha Trion gave Optimus advice when he went to Kaon to rescue Sentinel Prime, and when his body was returned Alpha Trion eulogized him with the traditional liturgy of the Passing of the Primes. It was then Alpha Trion made Optimus's Prime rank official, rather than de facto.

After Optimus returned from purging Cybertron's core of Dark Energon, he began the construction of the Ark. He asked Alpha Trion if it would work, but the Archivist responded that if it didn't, the Autobots would die with Cybertron. At this point, despite Optimus's pleas, he was refusing his share of Energon, and refused a place on the Ark, explaining the planet would not permit him to die. He told the Autobots about the last functioning space bridge, during which he made a big giveaway about his identity, seemingly joking he was older than that space bridge and he still functioned. Alpha Trion oversaw the Arks construction within the Well of All Sparks, while Optimus distracted Megatron aboard the Eight Track with a false exodus. With the city-sized ship completed, Alpha Trion reiterated he would not be coming, stating Vector Sigma would keep him alive. As Optimus boarded the ship, he realized his friend and mentor was one of the Original Thirteen. Transformers: Exodus
As they are not warrior-class, the Autobots do not kill them indiscriminately like they do Vehicons. Despite this, Miners possess the same weapons as Vehicons and are capable of defending themselves and their work if necessary.
In the three years Megatron was wandering around space, the Decepticon Miners were constantly at work mining energon on Earth. After Megatron used Dark Energon to raise Cliffjumper, the zombified Autobot trashed a couple of Miners. The Autobots detected Cliffjumper's life signal and invaded the mine, encountering heavy resistance from the Miners as they did so. Though some of the Miners even used drills as offensive weapons, the Autobots destroyed pretty much all of them in their search and the mine was destroyed by Starscream. Darkness Rising, Part 2

A Decepticon Miner was working on a large drilling machine to help harvest energon on Earth, along with some Vehicons. However, a Synthetic Energon-enhanced Ratchet led an unexpected assault on the group, to which the Decepticon Miner responded by climbing up a cliff in front of his machine. Ratchet easily followed and incapacitated him with a large boulder, then proceeded to interrogate the miner. Despite trying to act tough with his "potty mouth", Ratchet simply used his blowtorch to torment the answers out of him. It worked. His cries for help, caused by Ratchet's aggressive act of burning the right side of his face, brought the attention of the other Autobots to his location and he was saved by Optimus Prime, whose proclamation of Ratchet going too far stopped the latter from impaling the poor miner with his blade. Stronger, Faster

After Dark Energon began spewing from a volcano, the miners were set to work gathering it up and storing it in the Nemesis hold. One Shall Rise, Part 1
Notes
*Decepticon Miners have a similar appearance to the Vehicons, but are a light shade of purple, have different kibble, and have dual optical bands on their faces, unlike the Vehicons' single triangular ones.
*Like Vehicons, despite being referred to as drones, Miners do actually appear to be sentient to some degree. In particular, the Miner whom Ratchet tortured for information in "Stronger, Faster" going so far as to verbally insult Ratchet, before reacting with genuine pain at said torture, as well as Optimus stopping Ratchet from executing the Miner in a manner that seemed to imply they were more than simply just mass-produced units.
