Continuing to hopscotch around the globe as they pursue the [[Decepticon|Decepticons]], the [[Autobot|Autobots]] set [[Grand Maximus]] down at the foot of Mount McKinley in [[Alaska]]. While [[Ginrai]] hands out orders, [[Cancer]] attempts to prevent [[Wilder]] and [[Bullhorn]] from leaving. Despite having been rescued by Ginrai after being left to certain death thanks to [[Devil Z]], the two punks have no designs on becoming Autobots like Cancer. There is a hint of doubt in Bullhorn’s eyes, but Wilder pushes Cancer out of his way and orders Bullhorn to follow him. The Autobot [[Headmaster Junior|Headmaster Juniors]] arrive to try and convince them, but the pair board their [[Transtector|Transtectors]] and depart. Ginrai tries to console the tearful Cancer, telling him that he must believe that they will come to understand the friendship they share.

Meanwhile, with their base destroyed, the Decepticons have relocated to the jungles of the [[Amazon]]. There, Devil Z, now inhabiting the body of [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]], announces his intent to revisit his plan of wiping out humanity on Earth, this time using his own powers. [[Giga]] again voices his concern over this excessive course of action, but Devil Z silences him. Giga stalks off in rage, vowing to do things his own way. [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]], on the other hand, have come to a different conclusion regarding Humanity. They believe that they are weakened by their human bodies, and ''that'' is why they have thus far been unable to defeat Ginrai. They petition Devil Z to use his powers to recreate them as wholly robotic beings, and the alien complies, using his "[[Devil Power]]" to fuse the brothers with their Transtectors. They reveal their new forms to a horrified Giga and [[Mega]], and Devil Z then orders the Decepticons to begin their next attack.

Soon, news of bizarre disasters all over America reaches the Autobots, and Ginrai realizes that these reports—involving the obliteration of cities by devastating purple lightning—are the work of the Decepticons. (Duh.) Grand Maximus traces this "Devil Thunder" to the [[Grand Canyon]], and the Autobots immediately roll out. Leaving the [[Godmaster|Godmasters]] to help in the disaster areas, Ginrai and the Headmaster Juniors venture into the Grand Canyon, where Ginrai is promptly attacked by the reborn Hydra and Buster. The brothers display the new abilities their forms grant them by blasting him with beams of "Devil Power," but Ginrai fights back, appalled at what they have done to themselves.

At the same time, the Juniors and Godbomber come under attack from a swarm of [[Kraken|Krakens]] and [[Sparkdash]] [[Drone|drones]], but when Godbomber detects that Ginrai is in trouble, the Juniors instruct him to go to their commander's aid. With their numbers reduced, things look bad for the Juniors... until the surprising arrival of Wilder and Bullhorn! With the aid of their former enemies, the Juniors defeat the Decepticon drones, and Cancer is overjoyed to have his friends beside him once more.

Meanwhile, Godbomber speeds to the aid of Ginrai, and the pair fuse into God Ginrai to battle the brothers in the form of Darkwings. With a defiant cry, Ginrai subjects the brothers to massive blast of the power their loss of humanity means they will never be able to use again – [[Chōkon Power|Jinchōkon Power]]! Hydra and Buster take the blast, and return with the flaming "Hellfire Attack," diving right at Ginrai, who activates his God Fire Guts and collides with the Decepticons at high speed, causing a colossal explosion. All the combatants emerge from the blast smoking and scarred, and Hydra and Buster pull out, declaring the bout a draw. The Juniors soon arrive at Ginrai’s side, but there will be no respite for the wounded warrior, as, out of the stormy skies, [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]] descends...

When it comes to [[Combiner|combiners]], most suffer from the same problem: an inability to agree on ''anything'' while in their super-robot form, resulting in limited intelligence and limited effectiveness. Such is not the case with '''Piranacon'''. The [[Seacon (G1)|Seacons]] who compose Piranacon can all agree on one thing, they ''love'' to hunt. In fact, they love it so much, that once they combine, they absolutely ''will not stop'' until they've either run out of energy or been destroyed. This has gotten to be such a problem that their commander, [[Snaptrap (G1)|Snaptrap]], has been forced to activate an [[automatic timer]] upon combination, forcing Piranacon to disassemble after a period of time. The Autobot [[Headmaster Junior|Headmaster Juniors]] arrive to try and convince them, but the pair board their [[Transtector|Transtectors]] and depart. Ginrai tries to console the tearful Cancer, telling him that he must believe that they will come to understand the friendship they share.

Meanwhile, with their base destroyed, the Decepticons have relocated to the jungles of the [[Amazon]]. There, Devil Z, now inhabiting the body of [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]], announces his intent to revisit his plan of wiping out humanity on Earth, this time using his own powers. [[Giga]] again voices his concern over this excessive course of action, but Devil Z silences him. Giga stalks off in rage, vowing to do things his own way. [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]], on the other hand, have come to a different conclusion regarding Humanity. They believe that they are weakened by their human bodies, and ''that'' is why they have thus far been unable to defeat Ginrai. They petition Devil Z to use his powers to recreate them as wholly robotic beings, and the alien complies, using his "[[Devil Power]]" to fuse the brothers with their Transtectors. They reveal their new forms to a horrified Giga and [[Mega]], and Devil Z then orders the Decepticons to begin their next attack.

Soon, news of bizarre disasters all over America reaches the Autobots, and Ginrai realizes that these reports—involving the obliteration of cities by devastating purple lightning—are the work of the Decepticons. (Duh.) Grand Maximus traces this "Devil Thunder" to the [[Grand Canyon]], and the Autobots immediately roll out. Leaving the [[Godmaster|Godmasters]] to help in the disaster areas, Ginrai and the Headmaster Juniors venture into the Grand Canyon, where Ginrai is promptly attacked by the reborn Hydra and Buster. The brothers display the new abilities their forms grant them by blasting him with beams of "Devil Power," but Ginrai fights back, appalled at what they have done to themselves.

At the same time, the Juniors and Godbomber come under attack from a swarm of [[Kraken|Krakens]] and [[Sparkdash]] [[Drone|drones]], but when Godbomber detects that Ginrai is in trouble, the Juniors instruct him to go to their commander's aid. With their numbers reduced, things look bad for the Juniors... until the surprising arrival of Wilder and Bullhorn! With the aid of their former enemies, the Juniors defeat the Decepticon drones, and Cancer is overjoyed to have his friends beside him once more.

Meanwhile, Godbomber speeds to the aid of Ginrai, and the pair fuse into God Ginrai to battle the brothers in the form of Darkwings. With a defiant cry, Ginrai subjects the brothers to massive blast of the power their loss of humanity means they will never be able to use again – [[Chōkon Power|Jinchōkon Power]]! Hydra and Buster take the blast, and return with the flaming "Hellfire Attack," diving right at Ginrai, who activates his God Fire Guts and collides with the Decepticons at high speed, causing a colossal explosion. All the combatants emerge from the blast smoking and scarred, and Hydra and Buster pull out, declaring the bout a draw. The Juniors soon arrive at Ginrai’s side, but there will be no respite for the wounded warrior, as, out of the stormy skies, [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]] descends...

After his gruelling battle with the roboticized [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]] in the Grand Canyon, [[Ginrai]] is battered and exhausted, but there will be no chance for this weary warrior to rest, as out of the sky, his perennial foe [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]] descends. After a bout of snappy banter, the two combatants engage in a mid-air battle, and Overlord quickly sends Ginrai spiralling down into the canyon. As Ginrai claws his way up the rock face, Overlord patiently stands at the top, and the other Autobots come running up. Overlord happily informs Ginrai that he will wait for him to climb out, that they might finally settle their score in a fair manner. Although somewhat bemused by the offer, Ginrai says that it's what he wants as well, and resumes his battle with the Decepticon after ordering his troops to press on in their mission to find and stop [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]]. Ginrai covers their escape, but notices that for some reason, Overlord is not using his weapons...

After successfully scaling the rock face and getting out of the canyon (despite a slight stumble from [[Minerva]] along the way), the Autobots survey the terrain. A bolt of BlackZarak's Devil Thunder lances past them, allowing them to identify BlackZarak's location from the blast's point of origin, and they split up into two teams to come at the Decepticon from either side.

At the same time, the four former Decepticons—[[Clouder]], [[Cancer]], [[Wilder]] and [[Bullhorn]]—have gathered elsewhere in the canyon, and are preparing to make their own way towards BlackZarak, approaching the villain from behind. Clouder and Cancer are happy that they have all broken away from the Decepticons and joined the Autobots, but Wilder interrupts him—he might have been betrayed by the Decepticons, and he might be fighting against them, but he's still no Autobot. Bullhorn is on his side, too, but the two older boys admit one thing: they won't let their two friends get into any more trouble on their own.

Meanwhile, Ginrai and Overlord's battle continues to rage, with both opponents exchanging blows and relying only on their physical strength, stamina and wits. Ginrai demands to know why Overlord refuses to use his weapons, but the Decepticon keeps silent and presses his attack. Dodging a punch, Ginrai draws his gun and draws a bead on Overlord, demanding that he do the same. Overlord refuses, insisting that he will only fight with his physical power, to show Ginrai the might of his human flesh. Ginrai is taken aback, remembering that [[Devil Z]] sought the destruction of humans because of their innate strength, but Overlord proclaims that he does not share in his emperor's creed. Ginrai suggests postponing the fight until after he has defeated Devil Z, but Overlord refuses, and the battle continues.

Elsewhere, the team of [[Lightfoot]] and [[Road King]] continue their approach on BlackZarak, but find their way barred by [[Gilmer]] and [[Dauros]], sniping at them from a vantage point in the canyon's outcrops. Road King is able to use his speed to get the drop on them and knock them off the cliff, and is then attacked by [[Blood]], but Lightfoot holds him off. At that point, however, Hydra and Buster enter the fray, with little in the way of concern for Blood as they bomb and blast the two Autobot [[Godmaster|Godmasters]]. Lightfoot and Road King take cover in a cave, but the Decepticons collapse the entrance, entombing them.

Back with Ginrai and Overlord, the Autobot leader attempts to appeal to his foeman, asking that he ally with the Autobots against Devil Z. Overlord dismisses the request, claiming that he will be the one to decide how he lives his life, and, seeking to end the battle and move on with his mission, Ginrai draws his gun once more. Overlord does not move, willing to take the blast, but Ginrai cannot bring himself to pull the trigger. Thankfully, the decision is suddenly taken out his hands by the arrival of [[Grand Maximus]], who blows Overlord out of the sky. Although hesitant about leaving the battle on this note, Ginrai departs with Grand, and they head in BlackZarak's direction, moving under his radar.

At another location within the canyon, the team consisting of [[Ranger]] and the Autobot [[Headmaster Junior|Headmaster Juniors]] find a large rock wall blocking their path. They are about to climb it, when suddenly, it explodes into fragments, revealing [[King Poseidon]] lurking in wait. As [[Cab|Cab]] and [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] tackle the combiner, Blood, Hydra and Buster fly onto the scene, and Cancer and company appear on the cliff overhead. Observing the scene below, the four boys run to combine with their Transtectors, but just as they leap through the air, a bolt of Devil Power strikes their four Transtectors. The boys are hurled to the ground... and their armor and [[Master-Brace|Master-Braces]] have vanished! Attempting to fathom what has happened to them, the quartet turn to see their Transtectors loom over them... moving... and talking! The Transtectors tell their former owners that they have been reborn as true super-robot lifeforms, and they seize the boys, marching them down into the middle of the battle and bringing the fighting to a halt. Luckily, the tables are turned by the arrival of Ginrai and Grand Maximus, putting the Decepticons on the defensive. Overlord flies in seconds later, but just as things between him and Ginrai are about to start up once more, Devil Z announces that the attacks on America have been completed, and he orders the Decepticons to retreat. Again, Overlord speaks out against his master, but acquiesces at Devil Z's insistence, and the Decepticons pull out, heading for Europe. Ginrai attempts to pursue the villains, but a parting blast of Devil Power holds him back, and the Decepticons make good their escape as Lightfoot and Road King come running up to rejoin their team-mates.

From the top of the Matterhorn in the Alps, [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]] bombards Europe with his Devil Power, and the [[Autobot|Autobots]] immediately mobilize to track down the villains. Even their allies—[[Cancer]], [[Clouder]], [[Wilder]] and [[Bullhorn]], robbed of their [[Transtector|Transtectors]] by [[Devil Z]]—have joined in the effort, helping to rescue people in the disaster areas despite great risk to their de-powered selves. In an underground shelter, the four youths and the dozens of survivors cluster, debating the likelihood of their survival.

Meanwhile, the Autobots head into the snowy peaks of the Alps and divide into groups to attack BlackZarak and the Decepticons from three directions. [[Lightfoot]], [[Ranger]] and [[Road King]] are immediately spotted by the [[Decepticon]] [[Pretender|Pretenders]], who report to the other Decepticons. [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]] is about to move out and attack them, but BlackZarak holds him back and instead deals with the [[Godmaster|Godmasters]] from afar by burying them under an avalanche caused by his Devil Power.

Things do not go much better for [[Metalhawk]] and the [[Headmaster Junior|Headmaster Juniors]], who are immediately confronted by [[King Poseidon]]. [[Minerva]] is nearly cleaved by the [[Seacon (Masterforce)|Seacon]] [[combiner]]'s blade, but Metalhawk swoops into save her, taking a blast from King Poseidon's cannons in the process. The group tries concentrating their fire on the giant, but King Poseidon retaliates with a barrage of missiles that hurls his opponents around like rag dolls. King Poseidon looms over the fallen Metalhawk and swings his sword at the Pretender, but Metalhawk blocks it with his own, and a protracted battle of strength between the two begins...

Meanwhile, Ginrai and [[Grand Maximus]] have arrived to help dig the Godmasters out, but once the task is accomplished, the group spots the pyrotechnics from the battle with King Poseidon off in the distance. Ginrai immediately takes to the air to aid Metalhawk and the Juniors, but [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]], merged as [[Darkwings]], stand in his way. The brothers swear to show Ginrai their true power at last, and with a cry of "Mach X Flight!", they suddenly vanish! The startled Ginrai looks around for any sign of his opponents, and is then suddenly rammed by the giant jet when it reappears behind him. Ginrai realizes that they did not truly teleport, but flew so fast that the naked eye could not follow them, and charges his body with [[Chōkon Power]] to mimic the effect for himself. Entering "Chōkon Mach Flight," Ginrai zooms towards the stunned brothers, who immediately turn tail. Once again, though, Ginrai proves to be their better, overtaking them and searing their bodies with the burning backwash of his Chōkon Power. Scarred and smoking, they fall out of the sky and crash explosively into a mountain. His way now clear, Ginrai races to the rescue of Metalhawk and blasts King Poseidon into his component parts with a God Punch. The Seacons quickly recombine, but Ginrai easily blows them into fragments with a Chōkon-powered shot from the God Cannon. Although their foe has been defeated, Metalhawk and the Juniors are badly wounded and remain behind, protected by Grand Maximus, while Ginrai and the Godmasters carry on scaling the mountain. Just before reaching the peak, Ginrai instructs the Godmasters to hold back while he makes the first strike on his own.

Up on the top of the mountain, an enraged BlackZarak punishes Hydra and Buster for their failure, repeatedly striking them with his spear. The punishment goes on for some time, until Overlord finally speaks up and stays his emperor's hand, saying that they have suffered enough. BlackZarak scoffs and hurls Overlord aside, then begins blasting the Godmaster brothers with eye-beams until they pass out from pain. Overlord rushes to their side and decries BlackZarak's actions as barbaric, but BlackZarak simply laughs in his face and says he considers Overlord to be nothing more than an insect as well. Furious, Overlord attempts to strike BlackZarak, and a brief battle between the two breaks out, brought to an end when BlackZarak impales Overlord with his spear. Terrified, [[Blood]], [[Gilmer]] and [[Dauros]] make themselves scarce, and BlackZarak continues to torture Overlord by channeling energy through his spear...until a blast from the God Cannon knocks the weapon out of his hand! God Ginrai descends out of the sky and gets between the two Decepticons, with a stunned Overlord inquiring why he would do this for an enemy. Ginrai's answer is simple: It is because Overlord is human. BlackZarak pulls out all the stops, and the sky turns red as he unleashes his Devil Power, sending bolts of lightning lancing down around Ginrai as the Autobot attempts to help Overlord to safety. Suddenly, a volley of missiles bursts out of the ground beneath BlackZarak's feet, and he drops to his knees, his concentration broken. [[Sixknight]] has arrived to tip the scales and comes churning out of the Earth in his drill tank mode! He challenges BlackZarak to a battle and tells Ginrai to assemble the Autobots as he holds back the Decepticon leader. Quietly, Sixknight says that he is glad to have fought God Ginrai, then presses his attack...before BlackZarak bombards his body with Devil Power and causes him to explode, killing him. Ginrai returns with the Autobots just in time to witness Sixknight's death, and the stage is now set for the one, true final battle...

Even their allies—[[Cancer]], [[Clouder]], [[Wilder]] and [[Bullhorn]], robbed of their [[Transtector|Transtectors]] by [[Devil Z]]—have joined in the effort, helping to rescue people in the disaster areas despite great risk to their de-powered selves. In an underground shelter, the four youths and the dozens of survivors cluster, debating the likelihood of their survival.

Meanwhile, the Autobots head into the snowy peaks of the Alps and divide into groups to attack BlackZarak and the Decepticons from three directions. King Poseidon looms over the fallen Metalhawk and swings his sword at the Pretender, but Metalhawk blocks it with his own, and a protracted battle of strength between the two begins...

BlackZarak scoffs and hurls Overlord aside, then begins blasting the Godmaster brothers with eye-beams until they pass out from pain. Overlord rushes to their side and decries BlackZarak's actions as barbaric, but BlackZarak simply laughs in his face and says he considers Overlord to be nothing more than an insect as well. Furious, Overlord attempts to strike BlackZarak, and a brief battle between the two breaks out, brought to an end when BlackZarak impales Overlord with his spear. Terrified, [[Blood]], [[Gilmer]] and [[Dauros]] make themselves scarce, and BlackZarak continues to torture Overlord by channeling energy through his spear...until a blast from the God Cannon knocks the weapon out of his hand! God Ginrai descends out of the sky and gets between the two Decepticons, with a stunned Overlord inquiring why he would do this for an enemy. Ginrai's answer is simple: It is because Overlord is human. BlackZarak pulls out all the stops, and the sky turns red as he unleashes his Devil Power, sending bolts of lightning lancing down around Ginrai as the Autobot attempts to help Overlord to safety. Suddenly, a volley of missiles bursts out of the ground beneath BlackZarak's feet, and he drops to his knees, his concentration broken. [[Sixknight]] has arrived to tip the scales and comes churning out of the Earth in his drill tank mode! He challenges BlackZarak to a battle and tells Ginrai to assemble the Autobots as he holds back the Decepticon leader. Quietly, Sixknight says that he is glad to have fought God Ginrai, then presses his attack...before BlackZarak bombards his body with Devil Power and causes him to explode, killing him.
