[[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] has raised the ''Nemesis'' from its watery grave and has begun a random attack on everything in sight, all the while quoting the [[Covenant of Primus]]. After telling Rhinox to "deploy [[Operation Eternity]]", [[Optimus Primal]] and [[Tigerhawk]] attempt to fight it off, but their weapons don't even scratch the hull. Tigerhawk tells Primal to rally the Maximals and that he will remain to fight. On the ''Nemesis'', [[Dinobot II|Dinobot]] is commenting that his [[spark]] has changed and feels complete. Aspects of [[Dinobot (BW)|the original Dinobot]] begin to emerge. He admires Tigerhawk's defense. Tigerhawk is able to damage power on several decks, limiting Megatron's offensive options to using the fusion cannon, which he uses to destroy Tigerhawk. Going to the [[Protohuman]] settlement, Megatron prepares to destroy it. Dinobot objects, asking where the honor is in such an act, but Megatron fires anyway, killing [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] and [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]] in the process.

At [[Mount St. Hilary]], the Maximals are preparing a last-ditch strategy—bring the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] online and fight the ''Nemesis''. However, the ship has been offline too long, and [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] and [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] are having trouble restoring power. The ''Nemesis'' arrives, but Tigerhawk's attack has depleted its [[Energon (fuel)|energon]] reserves, and the fusion cannon requires time to recharge. Megatron activates its tractor beam, and Primal enters the ''Nemesis''. He and Megatron duke it out, but the Predacon clearly has the advantage. On the Ark, the Maximals manage to get the engines on line, but they burn out almost instantly. [[Rattrap]] proclaims that they are all going to die, and for once, no one tells him to shut up. Instead, the characteristically stoic Rhinox simply responds with "Yup".

However, Dinobot, disapproving of Megatron's actions, sends a message to the Maximals of an [[Autobot Shuttle Omega Delta|Autobot shuttle]] stored in the Ark. Megatron orders Dinobot to fire, but he refuses, stating that he has his honor. In a last bid to save them all, Rhinox pilots the shuttle on a collision course with the ''Nemesis''' bridge, crashing through the viewport and going out the other side. Optimus urges Dinobot to save himself, but he remains with the ship, biding farewell to Primal. As the ''Nemesis'' crashes, Primal rejoins the Maximals.

Some time later, the Maximals, having repaired the shuttle and rigged a [[transwarp]] cell to it, leave [[Earth]] for [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Optimus, piloting the ship, declares that the [[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]] are over, and memorializes the Maximals who fell during the war. Rattrap, however, is more happy to be going home and points out that they won't have to see Megatron 'til they get there, as the Predacon is tied to the hull of their shuttle. As the shuttle enters transwarp, the scene shifts to the Protohumans, who have built a village and are using parts of Inferno and Quickstrike in a ritual to celebrate their new leader...[[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]].

In the ultimate act of karma, Waspinator declares that he is "happy at last."

One of the edits shows Optimus Primal tearing out a [[transwarp cell]] from the ''Nemesis'''s control deck prior to telling [[Dinobot II]] to save himself. The transwarp cell is later seen towards the end of the (finished) episode, installed to the controls of the Autobot shuttle, explaining how the Maximals were able to travel through both space and time and return home.
*In an interview, Furman stated he was approached at BotCon 1998 to write a "G1-centric" episode, and worked closely with Bob Forward on what would become "Nemesis" (they originally weren't sure who'd write which part). Various ideas were pitched, but for reasons of budget and a lack of a fourth season meant everything needed to be wrapped up here; one key decision was to ensure the core cast "got a good send off, one that didn't leave them in limbo". *In the early plot of the episode, the Maximals successfully launched the Ark instead of an Autobot shuttle. Also, [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]] and [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] would be reactivated and ram into the Nemesis instead of the Autobot shuttle. This would have possibly explained where the three [[Conehead]]s came from when they suddenly appeared in season two of the original cartoon. This is one of the more popular reasons as to why writer Simon Furman included Dirge as a [[Herald of Unicron]] in [[Worlds Collide]].
*It should be noted that ''had'' Megatron heeded Dinobot and not turned the fusion cannon on the proto-human colony, he would have most likely won the Beast Wars, by the simple fact that it would have been fully charged by the time the [[Nemesis (G1)|''Nemesis'']] reached the Ark (As pointed out by Dinobot, the fusion cannon's reactor was depleted to 65% power when they had arrived) without the Maximals having a chance to prepare in time. ===Technical/animation glitches===
*As Tigerhawk is about to be overwhelmed by the fusion cannon, it cuts to a reaction shot by Dinobot, whose "monocle" is on the wrong eye.
*When Optimus returns to the Maximal base and tries to communicate with Tigerhawk, his right wing is missing.
*At one point, Optimus tears his wing off and tosses it to jam the giant grinder mechanisms on the bottom of the ''Nemesis''. However, in the next scene in which he appears, his wing has been replaced with no explanation.
*As the Maximals await their doom inside the Ark and Rattrap comments on how they're "all gonna die", he's missing his robot-mode "backpack".
*Megatron apparently transforms to dragon mode off-screen, transforms back to robot mode on-screen before the scene cuts away, then when next we see him, he is in dragon mode again!
*For most of the episode, Optimus is missing the "blast shields" that he usually wears on either his forearms or shoulders.
* In the final battle scene, Dinobot is flipped horizontally. (See first glitch.)

*Although it was cut from the final episode for time, the script called for Generation 1 Megatron's spark to be removed from BW Megatron and placed back in its proper body before the Maximals leave Earth. This very brief scene was animated and can be seen on Beast Wars Season 3 box sets produced by [[Kid Rhino]] and [[Madman Entertainment]]. It should be noted, however, that despite the cut, Optimus's lines from that segment were still included in the episode, albeit used in a different context.
*In "[[Other Victories]]", Megatron is perplexed by the idea of Tarantulas trying to destroy the Ark and Tigerhawk states that doing so would erase those descended from Autobots and Decepticons. So why is Megatron doing it ''now''? Considering his religious babbling, it comes off like he's gone mad and thinks it'll erase everyone ''but'' him...
*It seems unlikely that the Maximals would leave a Predacon on Earth, even one as incompetent as Waspinator. It's possible they just didn't know he was still alive, though in the ''Beast Machines'' episode "[[The Catalyst]]", Blackarachnia remarks that she was aware that they'd left him stranded on prehistoric Earth.

[[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] has raised the ''Nemesis'' from its watery grave and has begun a random attack on everything in sight, all the while quoting the [[Covenant of Primus]]. After telling Rhinox to "deploy [[Operation Eternity]]", [[Optimus Primal]] and [[Tigerhawk]] attempt to fight it off, but their weapons don't even scratch the hull. Tigerhawk tells Primal to rally the Maximals and that he will remain to fight. On the ''Nemesis'', [[Dinobot II|Dinobot]] is commenting that his [[spark]] has changed and feels complete. Aspects of [[Dinobot (BW)|the original Dinobot]] begin to emerge. He admires Tigerhawk's defense. Tigerhawk is able to damage power on several decks, limiting Megatron's offensive options to using the fusion cannon, which he uses to destroy Tigerhawk. Going to the [[Protohuman]] settlement, Megatron prepares to destroy it. Dinobot objects, asking where the honor is in such an act, but Megatron fires anyway, killing [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] and [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]] in the process.

At [[Mount St. Hilary]], the Maximals are preparing a last-ditch strategy—bring the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] online and fight the ''Nemesis''. However, the ship has been offline too long, and [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] and [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] are having trouble restoring power. The ''Nemesis'' arrives, but Tigerhawk's attack has depleted its [[Energon (fuel)|energon]] reserves, and the fusion cannon requires time to recharge. Megatron activates its tractor beam, and Primal enters the ''Nemesis''. He and Megatron duke it out, but the Predacon clearly has the advantage. On the Ark, the Maximals manage to get the engines on line, but they burn out almost instantly. [[Rattrap]] proclaims that they are all going to die, and for once, no one tells him to shut up. Instead, the characteristically stoic Rhinox simply responds with "Yup".

However, Dinobot, disapproving of Megatron's actions, sends a message to the Maximals of an [[Autobot Shuttle Omega Delta|Autobot shuttle]] stored in the Ark. Megatron orders Dinobot to fire, but he refuses, stating that he has his honor. In a last bid to save them all, Rhinox pilots the shuttle on a collision course with the ''Nemesis''' bridge, crashing through the viewport and going out the other side. Optimus urges Dinobot to save himself, but he remains with the ship, biding farewell to Primal. As the ''Nemesis'' crashes, Primal rejoins the Maximals.

Some time later, the Maximals, having repaired the shuttle and rigged a [[transwarp]] cell to it, leave [[Earth]] for [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Optimus, piloting the ship, declares that the [[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]] are over, and memorializes the Maximals who fell during the war. Rattrap, however, is more happy to be going home and points out that they won't have to see Megatron 'til they get there, as the Predacon is tied to the hull of their shuttle. As the shuttle enters transwarp, the scene shifts to the Protohumans, who have built a village and are using parts of Inferno and Quickstrike in a ritual to celebrate their new leader...[[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]].

In the ultimate act of karma, Waspinator declares that he is "happy at last."

Being a soldier is not the life for '''Ginrai''' (ジンライ ''Jinrai''). Command structures, fixed routines, forced formality, following orders, knowing your place and toeing the line are his complete antithesis—so it was really the worst luck in the world for him to be born [[Japan|Japanese]]. A Nagano native, Ginrai found the atmosphere of his home country unbearably stifling, and left for the [[United States of America|United States]] at the young age of seventeen to "find himself." The very definition of a free spirit and a lone wolf, he took a job as a long-haul truck driver for [[Union Transportation]] which offered him the freedom and solitude of the open road. Despite his desire for isolation and self-exploration, however, he is hugely popular amongst his "brothers" in the trucker fraternity, as his easygoing personality allows him to get along with people like a house on fire.

Ginrai's life was turned upside down when he discovered that he was an [[Autobot]] [[Godmaster]] and became bonded to a [[Transtector]] from the [[G Nebula 89|G Nebula]]. Now wearing the visage of the legendary Autobot commander [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], Ginrai has found his entire worldview changed by the evil of the [[Decepticon|Decepticons]], a force he painfully realizes is too great for him to overlook. It would not, Ginrai figures, be a good thing for the Decepticons to rule the world. After all, he lives there.

The events that would bring Ginrai into contact with the Transformers began an indeterminate number of years ago, when the super-energy alien being and self-styled "Decepticon god" [[Devil Z]] stole several [[Transtector|Transtectors]], including one intended to be used by the legendary Autobot leader [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], from an area of space known as the [[G Nebula]]. Already filled with the [[Chōkon Power|Tenchōkon]] of the nebula, the Transtectors were then scattered across the Earth by Devil Z, that they might absorb the planet's [[Chōkon Power|Chichōkon]]. Through undivulged circumstances, the Transtector intended for Prime assumed the form of a red tractor trailer cab and came to rest in a small garage in California. The unwitting [[Garage owner (Masterforce)|garage owner]] rented the cab to several truckers, but always found it returned early with complaints of unusual, even supernatural, incidents.

Two years after coming to America, Ginrai happened to be transporting an ill dolphin from [[Baney Aquarium]] to the [[Ocean Research Institute of California]], which was run, unbeknownst to him, by the Autobot [[Pretender]] [[Diver (Masterforce)|Diver]]. Destiny stepped in when Ginrai's truck broke down on the way, and he pulled in at this very garage, where the owner rented him the Transtector to complete his delivery. In the glove box of the cab, he discovered a pair of [[Master-Brace|Master-Braces]] and slipped them on his wrists, only to discover that he was unable to remove them. When Diver laid eyes upon the bracelets, he recognized the basic design of them and insisted that Ginrai take him back to the garage where he had found the truck. On the way, however, they were attacked by the Decepticon Godmaster brothers [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]], who forced the truck off a cliff. Ginrai was at first unsure of what to make of his new powers and was not entirely keen on joining the Autobots, as the notion of operating as part of a command structure and being tied down to a specific place ran directly counter to his desire for freedom in his life. Although he promised to aid them when necessary "for the sake of the world"—a mantra for which he admitted he had a weakness—he soon bore witness to the true evil of the Decepticons when Hydra and Buster killed several of his fellow truckers while searching for him. Ginrai soon suffered a prophetic dream, after which he discovered three more pairs of Master-Braces in his Transtector, indicating the presence of more Godmasters on Earth. The events that would bring Ginrai into contact with the Transformers began an indeterminate number of years ago, when the super-energy alien being and self-styled "Decepticon god" [[Devil Z]] stole several [[Transtector|Transtectors]], including one intended to be used by the legendary Autobot leader [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], from an area of space known as the [[G Nebula]]. Already filled with the [[Chōkon Power|Tenchōkon]] of the nebula, the Transtectors were then scattered across the Earth by Devil Z, that they might absorb the planet's [[Chōkon Power|Chichōkon]]. Devil Z planned to have human beings bond to the Transtectors, adding their inherent [[Chōkon Power|Jinchōkon]] to the equation, thereby creating a new super-robotic lifeform: [[Godmaster|Godmasters]]. {{storylink|Shūta and Grand's Masterforce Super-Secrets!}}

Through undivulged circumstances, the Transtector intended for Prime assumed the form of a red tractor trailer cab and came to rest in a small garage in California. The unwitting [[Garage owner (Masterforce)|garage owner]] rented the cab to several truckers, but always found it returned early with complaints of unusual, even supernatural, incidents.

Two years after coming to America, Ginrai happened to be transporting an ill dolphin from [[Baney Aquarium]] to the [[Ocean Research Institute of California]], which was run, unbeknownst to him, by the Autobot [[Pretender]] [[Diver (Masterforce)|Diver]]. Destiny stepped in when Ginrai's truck broke down on the way, and he pulled in at this very garage, where the owner rented him the Transtector to complete his delivery. In the glove box of the cab, he discovered a pair of [[Master-Brace|Master-Braces]] and slipped them on his wrists, only to discover that he was unable to remove them. When Diver laid eyes upon the bracelets, he recognized the basic design of them and insisted that Ginrai take him back to the garage where he had found the truck. On the way, however, they were attacked by the Decepticon Godmaster brothers [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]], who forced the truck off a cliff. Accidentally touching the bracelets as he attempted to escape the crushed cab, Ginrai was infused with the Masterforce, and a suit of armor materialized around him, healing both himself and the Transtector as they combined and transformed. Ginrai was at first unsure of what to make of his new powers and was not entirely keen on joining the Autobots, as the notion of operating as part of a command structure and being tied down to a specific place ran directly counter to his desire for freedom in his life. Although he promised to aid them when necessary "for the sake of the world"—a mantra for which he admitted he had a weakness—he soon bore witness to the true evil of the Decepticons when Hydra and Buster killed several of his fellow truckers while searching for him. In spite of this, Ginrai was still not entirely willing to join the Autobots, but fate would continue to pushing him into doing so. {{storylink|Ginrai: God On of Rage!!}}

Ginrai soon suffered a prophetic dream, after which he discovered three more pairs of Master-Braces in his Transtector, indicating the presence of more Godmasters on Earth. When Ginrai brought the bracelets to Japan for study at the [[Autobot Base (Masterforce)|Autobot base]], {{storylink|A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva}} events began to escalate as his Transtector activated on its own, transporting Ginrai to his birthplace of Nagano, or more specifically, a construction site at the base of Mount Yatsugatake there. Blasting for a tunnel through the mountain had been blocked by a mysterious object, which proved to be a trailer for Ginrai's truck, which burst from the tunnel during another battle with Buster and Hydra. {{storylink|Friend or Foe!? Luring Ginrai to the heartland of America, the villains ambushed and badly wounded the Autobot leader, leaving him unable to use his Chōkon Power to animate Godbomber. When it seemed as though the Autobots had finally been joined by the final Godmaster, a young man named [[Clouder]], Ginrai welcomed him into their ranks with open arms. Metalhawk, however, proved to be less trusting, and soon exposed Clouder as a Decepticon spy. Unfortunately, this was not enough to stop the plan the Decepticons had put in motion; while Ginrai and the Godmasters were occupied battling Buster and Hydra in a nearby city, the Autobot base was crippled by Clouder's sabotage and attacked by the rest of the Decepticons en masse. {{storylink|Secret Orders! Ginrai too fell victim to the singularity's pull, but he and Grand Maximus were able to combine their energies to destroy it from within and escape. The True Form of Devil Z}} As their battle raged down the mountain, Ginrai succeeded in decapitating the villain, but BlackZarak simply assumed a new, serpentine alternate mode and kept on fighting. The Headmaster Juniors boarded Ginrai's chest cockpit and joined their energies with him, allowing him to destroy BlackZarak's body with his God Fire Guts attack, exposing Devil Z. As the alien raged impotently, Ginrai and the Juniors united every last drop of their Chōkon Powe into the almighty Final Fire Guts attack, which destroyed Devil Z once and for all.

With Devil Z's death, the bond he had forged between Transtector and human ceased to exist, and Ginrai and the other humans were separated from their Transtectors. The Transtectors, however, had been evolved through their partnership with the humans and continued to exist as true super-robot life forms. The Autobots were unable to match the Decepticons' power, but salvation soon came in the form of a red tractor trailer: Ginrai had arrived, and saw the villains off with a blast of Chōkon Power. In the aftermath of the battle, Metalhawk commented on Ginrai's similarity to Optimus Prime and wondered if he could be his reincarnation. When the Decepticon Ambassador of Destruction Overlord then attacked Tokyo, the newly-formed "God Ginrai" attacked him and lured him into space, where the powerful Decepticon warrior BlackZarak was in process of battling other Autobots there. After a mission to rescue Shūta and [[Cab]] from the Decepticons with the help of Grand Maximus, {{storylink|The Earth Family of Good and Evil}} a mission to [[Mount Everest]] saw Ginrai struck down by the newest Decepticon Godmaster, [[Clouder|Doubleclouder]]. Left temporarily blind by the Decpticons' new [[A.O. Laser]], Ginrai was helpless, but luckily for him, an insulting remark from Cancer prompted the fickle Doubleclouder to switch sides to the Autobots and help him defeat the villains' plans. {{storylink|Decepticons' Great Counterattack!}}

After several further battles, events culminated in Devil Z taking over BlackZarak's body and turning against the other Decepticons, attempting to drain Overlord and Ginrai's Jinchōkon Power to transform himself into the ultimate lifeform. Saved by the Autobot Pretenders, Ginrai and Overlord led their respective factions in combining their energies into the "Perfect Transformer Attack" and destroying Devil Z and BlackZarak for good. With Devil Z's death, the bond he had forged between Transtector and human ceased to exist, and Ginrai and the other humans were separated from their Transtectors. The Transtectors, however, had been evolved through their partnership with the humans and continued to exist as true super-robot life forms. Silverbolt dutifully patrols the Maximals' fortified entrance to [[Mount St. Hilary]]. Megatron, trying another attack on the Maximals' base, sends sub-commander Waspinator with a large explosive (from…somewhere) to destroy the patrolling Fuzor. Waspinator delivers the missile and destroys Silverbolt's gunning turret, and when Primal, Cheetor, and Rattrap rush outside to defend their home, Waspinator commands a full attack. But without support from additional troops, Waspinator is quickly crushed by Primal.

Hiding out of Primal's sight, Tarantulas blows a dart that burrows itself into Primal's foot, crawls through the Maximal leader's interior machinery, and accesses Primal's own spark. Primal disregards the infection, tells Cheetor to "take a rest" with a suspiciously Western drawl, and punches out the young Maximal.

Blackarachnia returns to the Maximal base, surprised by the open doors. She finds the entire interior dark. Primal sneaks up on the arachnid, and when she reveals that Depth Charge isn't with her, he grabs her as if she were a toy. With the widow restrained, Megatron and his crones step out of the darkness. Quickstrike is revealed to be controlling Optimus by piloting a large, mechanical suit of similar form to Primal's body. The other Maximals are being kept deactivated in a hanging cage.

Meanwhile, Quickstrike uses Primal's body to give Megatron access to the Ark's interior. Megatron walks through the halls of the ship to find what he's looking for: his namesake [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]. The Predacon leader opens his own chest, and a tentacle reaches out of it to access the [[spark]] of his predecessor. After a bit of struggle, Megatron takes both sparks into his body. While Megatron convulses from the pain of containing two sparks, Quickstrike, who is secretly working for Tarantulas, dumps his leader into one of the lava pits outside.

Blackarachnia is left in the care of [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]], who delights in causing her pain, but she overpowers the massive Transmetal crab by using her telekinesis to knock him down with a steel girder. She sneaks through the base, then leads Inferno away from the Maximals he's supposed to be protecting and locks him outside so she can free her team.

Quickstrike gives Tarantulas access to [[Teletraan I (G1)|Teletraan I]]. Tarantulas then sends Quickstrike away to destroy the Maximals while he rigs the Ark to explode, which will kill all Autobots and Decepticons within it. As Tarantulas leaves the Ark, Megatron emerges from the lava, now reconfigured into a dragon form by his plunge into the molten rock and the additional spark within him. Megatron burns the spider who betrayed him and tosses Tarantulas into a distant lava pool as punishment for failing.

Quickstrike, still piloting his armor, finds Blackarachnia and double-teams her using Optimus's body, which is still under his control. But with a well-placed blast, she causes the two giants to fall over each other. The fall frees Optimus, who remembers what he did under Quickstrike's control, and he and Blackarachnia head back into the Ark to prevent the devastation.

Megatron finds Optimus, and the two enhanced transformers battle. While Blackarachnia tries to save the Ark, Megatron shows off his new abilities against his most hated enemy. Blackarachnia saves the Ark with just a single second to spare. Optimus is then saved from Megatron by the combined firepower of the other Maximals, who force Megatron to retreat. But with the spark of the original Megatron still in his possession, Megatron has gained a new advantage in the Beast Wars.

The stylistic difference from "Optimal Optimus" can be attributed to the lava, which Megatron likely wouldn't have survived had he not been in the process of being upgraded, as falling into lava killed [[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]] and [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]].
* When Primal finally gains control of himself and tells Blackarachnia that Megatron gained control of Teletraan I, he ''actually says Teletraan'' instead of Teletron. Although every other time it's said in this episode, it's pronounced Teletron.

===Continuity errors===
* It is unclear why Tarantulas and Quickstrike expected (''Beast Wars'') Megatron to expire in the lava, given Tarantulas suffers the same fate, but immediately climbs out of the lava moments later. Although it's possible that throwing Megatron into lava was just Quickstrike's idea.
* The return of G1 Megatron's spark to his body would never be explicitly resolved within this series. BW Megatron was said to still hold it as of "[[Other Victories]]", and we never see or are told that he gave it back. There is only Primal's statement that "all is as it should be" (made after Megatron's capture in "[[Nemesis Part 2]]") to go on. However, the spark's replacement ''was'' written into the "Nemesis" script and even animated—it was simply cut for time from the final episode. A clip of this animation can be seen on BWTF.com's [http://bwtf.com/bw/tvshow/episodes/seasonthree/nem2/ page for this episode] and was included as an extra in Kid Rhino's DVD release of ''Beast Wars'' season 3.
* The computer that Blackarachnia uses seems to have been designed for human-size figures, rather then the larger Autobot occupants. Of course the controls could have been built when the Ark was constructed for the roughly human-sized transformers, such as the ones with cassette alternate modes.

*When Megatron says he has "Almost collected the whole set" his head has the wrong colors. Instead of his usual Transmetal head, the colors match that of his Dragon form. Strangely, earlier shots in this scene have the correct color scheme.
