There they discovered a Decepticon base. They were forced to deal with the Breastforce on their own until reinforcements arrived. Wingwaver is the combined form of the Autobot Multiforce members Wing and Waver. Possibly one of the most bizarre combination groups, converting to vehicle mode typically leaves half of him sitting high and dry. Wing, as leader of the Multiforce, is typically the dominant member of this pairing and as such is sure to always be the top.

While cocky and self assured, Wingwaver feels very much like the lesser counterpart to Brainmaster leader Blacker.
Victory cartoon
:Voice actor: Masashi Hironaka (Japanese)

Wingwaver was the somewhat hot-headed leader of the Autobot Multiforce, operating under Star Saber's supervision when the latter was promoted to become Supreme Commander of all the Autobots. The Brave Hero of the Universe - Star Saber The Multiforce comprised a sizeable portion of Star Saber's forces, and settled on Earth shortly after their leader's promotion. Wingwaver was still something of a junior officer, leader of his own troops but still a rookie in the eyes of Star Saber's other troops, the Brainmasters, especially their veteran leader Blacker. Wingwaver often felt like he needed to justify himself to Blacker, and made careless mistakes at times because of that. He once accidentally gave away the Autobots' position during a covert mission that depended on reaching the Decepticon installation undetected. Despite this, Blacker took responsibility for his actions when questioned by Star Saber, and this eased Wingwaver's self-doubt somewhat. Explosion!! The Energy Base

Zone cartoon
The Multiforce, as Landcross, continued to be an active element in the Autobot forces even after Victory Saber retired and passed on command to Dai Atlas. Enter the New Supreme Commander, Dai Atlas!
Between his physical prowess, unexpected mental acuity, and animalistic, almost instinct-fast hunting actions, Predaking is one of the most dangerous and intimidating weapons ever added to the Decepticon ranks. Predaking first saw action during the short-lived Decepticon-Quintesson alliance in the year 2005. The Predacons attempted to prevent Blurr, Wheelie, the human Marissa Faireborn and the magnificent Sky Lynx from escaping Jupiter's moon of Io with Metroplex's transformation cog. When the individual Predacons failed, they merged into Predaking, but were quickly defeated by Sky Lynx. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5

Soon afterward, the Decepticons took over the slave mining planet of Dread, forcing the halpess prisoners to mine the super-hard death crystals in a scheme by Galvatron to destroy Cybertron with a giant death-crystal firing cannon. When several slaves were frightened out of the mine by the monster Chaos, Predaking swooped down to recapture the escapees. Later, during an Autobot attack that saw Sky Lynx buried under tons of rock, Predaking separated Blurr, Wreck-Gar, Wheelie and Grimlock from Kup by blocking off the mine entrace with his laser sword. He continued to force the Autobots back to Sky Lynx (who had managed to escape the landslide) while shrugging off their laser fire. Meanwhile, Kup lured Chaos out of the volcano, causing another landslide that this time buried Predaking under tons of rock. Chaos (episode)

During an assassination attempt on the Autobots, the Predacons formed Predaking right before the Quintessons unleashed a nightmare effect on the Transformers. They were all confronted with solidified dream images taken from the mind of Daniel Witwicky. Predaking was quickly overpowered by the creatures and, after he split up, a dragon kidnapped Razorclaw to a distant castle, leaving the Predacons unable to combine again. After the dream-inducer was destroyed and the Predacons were reunited, Razorclaw was ready to resume the battle with the Autobots and ordered the transformation into Predaking. Unfortunately, Headstrong's leg had been injured fighting a giant dream Galvatron, and he was unable to join into their combined form. Without the might of Predaking, the Predacons chose to flee. Nightmare Planet

Predaking was patroling space when he picked up on a Quintesson transmission. Tracing it to a jungle-like planet, he split into his component parts to locate the source of the signal more easily. Once Sky Lynx and the Autobots beat the Predacons to the transmitting journal canister, they reformed as Predaking to renew their vendetta against Sky Lynx. Galvatron and Cyclonus soon joined Predaking, but his interest in revenge on Sky Lynx outmatched their interest in the journal, and Galvatron had to remind Predaking repeatedly and forcefully to keep his mind(s) on the mission. The Quintesson Journal Later on, Predaking fought alongside Galvatron and the Decepticons in Europe, but soon vanished before the whole "Ultimate Weapon" scheme was finished. The Ultimate Weapon

On Earth's moon, Predaking fought alongside the Terrorcon combiner Abominus until they, along with the other "primitive" animal-based Transformers, were called away by Primacron's Assistant. They were led to an ancient world, in the hopes their primitive instincts would defeat Primacron's latest creation, the energy-draining Tornedron. After the defeated Trypticon's corpse seemingly crushed Grimlock, the primitives split up and ran for their lives. The Predacons continued to run until Headstrong declared he would rather stand and fight than die running. Concurring, his fellow Predacons merged with him to form Predaking, but were quickly put into stasis lock by Tornedron. Call of the Primitives

As part of a series of Decepticon attacks on Japan, Predaking and Devastator pursued Broadside in the Sea of Japan. He was later part of the strike force led by the Matrix-possessed Scourge. The Burden Hardest to Bear

After the Hate Plague spread throughout the galaxy, Predaking was seen hunting down Galvatron with Scourge and Cyclonus. Hot Rod stopped the Predacons from merging into Predaking once by ramming Razorclaw in the gut before the combination was complete. =====Zone=====
Years later, after several more Decepticon leaders had come and gone, the faction came under the rulership of the supernatural entity Violen Jiger. This mysterious creature's first action was to recruit a team of Nine Great Demon Generals from Decepticon history; Predaking was enlisted as his "Beast General" and outfitted with new armor and weaponry to make him even more powerful than before. The generals were charged with acquiring the two objects needed for Violen Jiger's ultimate goal: the Autobot super-fuel Energon Z, and the enigmatic, life-giving energy source, the Zodiac.

Seeking to create a Decepticon Zone to counter the Autobot Zone, Decepticon Emperor Violen Jiger gathered together the Nine Great Demon Generals, upgrading them with powerful new armor and weaponry, then sent them forth to conquer planets. Zone (story page)

The Generals then united to attack planet Feminia once again, this time destroying it utterly. Violen Jiger next charged his Generals with collecting Energon Z and the all-powerful Zodiac, which he intended to use to fuel his conquest. Devastator, King Poseidon, Trypticon and Predaking next attacked the Earth, which was where the Zodiac was hidden. They succeeded in obtaining the Zodiac, only to have it taken from them by the Powered Masters Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber. The Generals were soundly defeated and driven off. Zone (manga)

Later, Predaking, a self-professed master of aerial combat, challenged the Powered Masters to battle. Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber combined into Sky Powered and beat him swiftly and soundly. Zone (story page)
The Generals later schooled Metrotitan and the Metrosquad in the ways of evil, making them more than formidable foes for the Powered Masters. Zone (story page)
Predaking was selected by Violen Jiger as one of his Nine Great Demon Generals. Given the rank of Beast General and gifted with new weaponry and armor, Violen Jiger sent Predaking to Earth to steal the Zodiac before the Autobots could get it.

He failed, however, and after seeing the likes of King Poseidon and Trypticon get killed in battle, attempted to escape. His escape was thwarted by Dai Atlas, who sliced him into two from head to crotch, exposing his vaguely organic-looking brain and killing the Decepticon. Enter the New Supreme Commander, Dai Atlas!
Marvel Comics continuity
noteukonly
Predaking's first outing on Earth was in the course of a hunt by the Predacons against the Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Prime having foiled the Predacons' initial attacks individually, they merged into Predaking and resumed the chase. Essentially Predaking's role in that hunt concluded once he had flushed Prime out into the open and worn him down, thus rendering him vulnerable to the attack of Megatron. The Predacons returned over the Space Bridge to Cybertron. Prey!

Predaking's next foray on Earth was part of a scheme by Shockwave to destabilise Megatron's sanity to such an extent that the way would be clear for Shockwave to take command. Shockwave supplied fake Autobrands to the Predacons (and thus Predaking by extension) and the Predacons ambushed Megatron in the swamps of Florida. Megatron did not recall who the Predacons were thanks to a bout of amnesia connected to his earlier involvement with them. The Predacons had similar difficulties subduing Megatron in their individual forms and merged to become Predaking. Predaking fared little better against Megatron and was rendered unconscious by a blast from the deranged Decepticon's fusion cannon. Gone but Not Forgotten!

Dreamwave comics continuity
Eons ago, the Predacons were banished from Cybertron to Beest, where their higher functions degraded, rendering them feral. Megatron, who had been overthrown by Starscream (well, thrown out of a shuttle), tracked down the Predacons, then modified them to become combiners, creating Predaking. Welcome to the Jungle

Starscream and his Combaticons were in training (with Sky Lynx of all people as a target) when Predaking suddenly arose from the sea, seeking to capture the treacherous Decepticon Air Commander. The Combaticons quickly formed into (the much-less intelligent) Bruticus and counter-attacked by destroying Predaking's shoulder-mounted guns. Forced back, Predaking quickly put down his opponent by firing one of his foot cannons at Bruticus' head, blasting off part of his face.

When Starscream fled, lamenting Bruticus' latest defeat, Predaking attempted to follow until Bruticus crushed one of his wings and threw him onto the island. Damaged, but not defeated, Predaking easily dodged the slow-witted Combaticon combiner's rifle blast, then erected a defensive energy field around himself to deflect the follow-up shot. As Bruticus pondered a possible rifle malfunction, Predaking punched his rival in the face with a spiked knuckle, then impaled the crippled Bruticus upon Headstrong's horn, finally deactivating the Combaticons.

This was the first time he won a fight. And it was against another fellow Decepticon. Oh well, better than nothing. The Route of All Evil
The Beast Within
For the first time in comic book history, Predaking is completely and totally owned. Except, you know, all those other times. Predaking would like you to ignore those. And this one too, come to think of it. The Beast Within

Devil's Due G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers continuity
The Predacons and Seacons got into a territorial argument after Megatron's death, which led to a face off between Predaking and Piranacon. Predaking emerged the victor but was stopped by Serpent O.R. before he could finish the aquatic combiner off. The Art of War issue 2 After Serpent O.R. recruited the Predacons into his new Decepticon army, he was tracked down by a group of Autobots and G.I. Joes, but Predaking protected his new leader by stomping Bumblebee unconscious. The Decepticons then organized an attack on an Autobot peace ceremony, during which Predaking, Piranacon and Menasor took out Omega Supreme. The Art of War issue 3 He then spent the remainder of the battle hunting down civilians. The Art of War issue 4
Generation 1
* Predaking (1986, 2004, 2010?)
**Japanese ID number: D-78
**Accessories: Razorclaw's sword and cannon, 2 fists, 2 feet, head

:Predaking is, by far, the largest of the traditional central component-leader-type combiner toys. He is formed by combining all five Predacons together. Unlike the Scramble City-style toys such as Bruticus or Defensor, Predaking's arms and legs are not interchangeable. Razorclaw's sonic sword and beast mode cannon serve as Predaking's primary weapons, with Tantrum and Headstrong's back-mounted cannons as his feet.

:Like Defensor and Bruticus, Predaking's components were released in both plastic and metal versions. In his combined mode featuring each member in die cast form, Predaking is rather heavy for a Transformer. A complete combiner weighs in at exactly 1 kilogram (2.2lbs). This however does not upset the balance of the toy, as Headstrong and Tantrum have the bulk of the diecast. Japan only received the plastic versions during the original run of the Generation 1 toyline.

:Hasbro only released the individual Predacons, but a giftset was available in Japan. In late 2004, Predaking was reissued to much rejoicing of people who could not afford the after market prices on a vintage piece. This reissue used metal parts, and the pieces that were originally soft plastic were now hard plastic.

:At Tokyo Toy Fair 2010, it was announced that they would be reissuing Predaking once more, although press pictures depict them with a slightly altered coloration than the previous versions, using a more metallic paint scheme. Whether this reissue will use metal or plastic parts is unknown, and it is tentatively slotted for a late 2010 release.
**Accessories: Display stand, sword

:As part of the Titanium series 3" line, Predaking is constructed of mostly die-cast metal and plastic parts, but cannot transform and has very limited articulation. His sculpt and colour scheme is based upon the original G1 toy, but has Rampage and Divebomb occupying each other's positions, like the cartoon and comic model.

Robot Heroes
*Ricochet vs Predaking (2-pack, 2009)

:Robot Heroes Predaking is a small, super deformed and absolutely adorable figurine with articulated shoulders. He was only available in a two-pack with Ricochet.

:The US release of this two-pack has been cancelled, but it has been found in Singapore, Germany, the UK, Russia & Australia.

Notes
*Predaking was designed by toy and anime mechanical designer Akitaka Mika, and was the only one of his proposed designs to actually be produced as a toy. This possibly explains why the Predacons do not conform to the then-contemporary Scramble City style of combining.

*A Predaking Action Master was planned at one point, but apparently went no further than a concept sketch. It was intended to be the included rider of a transforming dirt bike. While Predaking was scrapped, the bike was refined and included with the Action Master Axer.

*Incidentally, the aforementioned concept art was found in an Arby's parking lot after the end of 2000, where it had presumably come unstowed.
What causes this is unknown, but ick. Even previously-unopened samples will develop this nastiness. While some water and a little bit of hand-soap should take care of the slime, there's not much to be done about the green discoloration.

* The Victory anime depicted the Dinoforce members as carrying melee weapons, rather than the blasters the toys actually came with.
Yokuryū (ヨクリュウ) could be called the flighty member of Dinoforce, though this would be because of his winged alternate mode more than a wandering mind. Like the rest of Dinoforce, Yokuryū barely has a mind to let wander. While barely a threat to an enemy pigeon while in the air, Yokuryū's fire-breath is surprisingly useful against ground opponents. Typically, Yokuryū can be defeated by even the simplest of strategies, as Wing found out in an early battle. Still, Yokuryū's greatest threat in the air would have to be himself. When riding on his winged shell, he is easily spooked, typically resulting in the suffocation of his partner as he dangles like a gaudy necklace.
Gōryū (ゴウリュウ) is the leader of the Dinoforce Decepticons. He and his troops combine to form the goliath Dinoking.
Hot-headed, easily frustrated and generally not too bright, Gōryū demands obedience from his dim-witted troops (especially Kakuryū, whom he often abuses) and respect from the Breastforce... respect which he will never get.
The captain of the Dinoforce, Gōryū is a major player in the Decepticon army. He's just not very good at the game.

Gōryū led the Dinoforce in the attack on a Mars research ship that saw Jean's parents die. Later he led an attack on Earth's moonbase, forcing Star Saber and his forces to come to Earth's defense and make their base there. Throughout Deathsaurus' campaign against Earth for energy, Gōryū was a loyal grunt. Often he and his Dinoforce were the first in the fight and the last to retreat.

However, he was betrayed when Deathsaurus finally acquired enough energy to free his space fortress—the Decepticon commander abandoning Dinoforce, and leaving them to die. As retaliation, Gōryū went to the Autobots, and told them the secret weakness in Deathsaurus's space fortress.

After the destruction of the space fortress, Gōryū and his Dinoforce lived peacefully on Earth alongside the humans.
* All of the Dinoforce's rubbery shells are susceptible to developing an oily film, and their gold paint may take on a green patina. Why exactly this happens is currently unknown, but as such, even mint-in-package toys may come out of the package kind of slimy and discolored. Eyuw.

* The Victory anime depicted the Dinoforce members as carrying melee weapons, rather than the blasters the toys actually came with; Gōryū packs a large club which he mainly uses to brain his subordinates. And while they are sometimes depicted as riding their shells (Goryu more often than the others), obviously the toys proper cannot do this. Plus, their mechanical beast modes are never shown, making them kind of the mirror of the Super-God Masterforce Seacons.
As a leader material, Holi (ホーリー Hōrī) isn't exactly cut from the right cloth. He's young, but so is the rest of the Rescue Patrol Team, and though he is the most mature of them all, that isn't saying much. Holi likes to hang out with Star Saber's human son, Jean, in his spare time. While a goof-off most of the time, when there’s trouble he's quick to act. He is a fast-thinker and a resourceful one at that. But despite that, he tends to point of the fact that he is the leader of the Rescue Patrol. He misses his home planet of Micro greatly, mostly due to the fact that his girlfriend is there (something the rest of the Rescue Patrol enjoys riding him on).
Holi spent much of his time hanging around with Jean – possibly more than is healthy – but they shared a close friendship somewhat like that of Daniel and Wheelie (albeit with a dash more antagonism at times). He was smarter than he seemed, as he apparently built Jean's hover-pod, without which the kid couldn't get around Autobot bases half as quickly as he did. He also showed pretty serious guts for such a tiny fellow; it took a certain kind of spunk to try a flying pounce on Leozack. Too bad he forgot about Leozack's little buddy.

Just when it seemed Holi's only purpose on Earth was to babysit Jean and occasionally take part in a skirmish, he got outed. He wasn't just any Micromaster—he was none other than the leader of the Rescue Patrol Team! Though a bit scatterbrained in his early approach, he quickly proved he was no slouch when it counted and led his team on a successful operation the very day they finally showed up. {{storylink|Move Out!
Following the destruction of Deathsaurus's asteroid plant, Star Saber was called on to take care of some problems on Micro. Apparently, Ginrai was more than a little busy elsewhere in the sector. The Rescue Patrol Team went along. Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior

After Blue Bacchus and Black Shadow were taken care of, Leozack and crew showed up looking to bust their pal Gaihawk out of his prison on Micro's moon. Even with the ex-mercenary Greatshot helping them out (to Holi's initial dismay), the Autobots couldn't stop Gaihawk's release by Hellbat. With the prison falling down around them and a rather large lava pit beneath them, Holi looked on in bemusement as Greatshot attempted to sway his former colleague to the Autobot side. Gaihawk wasn't having it and blasted the Six Changer, who tumbled into the lava pit, then made good his escape with the rest of the Breastforce close behind. Holi then proved himself not only a true Autobot by staying to pull Greatshot from the pit, but ridiculously strong for a Micromaster while he was at it. The only thing that stopped him from pulling Greatshot from the pit unassisted was the ground giving way under his feet. Luckily, Star Saber arrived just in time to save them both from gravity's merciless clutches. Rescue! Gaihawk

Holi then naturally took the opportunity to visit his girlfriend, despite the good-natured ribbing his teammates gave him about it. After all, what self-respecting bot wouldn't pay a visit to his girl with a cadre of powerful Decepticon warriors on the loose? Holi was rewarded for his thoughtfulness when he and Clipper, out for a drive and a little bit of catch-up after his long absence from Micro, stumbled upon an argument between Hellbat and Deathcobra. The loving couple were subsequently witness to Deathcobra's murder and given the blame by a panicking Hellbat, who ran off and told his tale to the rest of the Breastforce. For some reason, they bought the story and stormed off to take revenge for their fallen comrade. On the Micromasters who killed him.
Lionbreast is the Breast Animal partner of the team's leader, Leozack. Savage and cruel, it will happily obey his every command.
Later, Deathsaurus decided to exploit the diminutive stature of the Lionbreast and the other Breast Animals, luring the Autobots into an American subway system, where the cramped quarters put them at the mercy of the ferocious creatures. Blacker wound up tangling with Leozack, the Lionbreast and Killbison's Bisonbreast, but was able to hold his own until the villains called retreat. Big City - Underground Terror
In a battle that took place shortly after Hellbat arrived to join the Breastforce on Earth, Lionbreast and the other Breast Animals were all unleashed upon Star Saber in midair and successfully caused him to crash. The New Warrior - Hellbat Soon afterward, when Leozack and Hellbat attempted to steal energy from a Nevada shuttleport, the Lionbreast savaged Machtackle. Attack the Shuttle Base!!
When the Breastforce threatened Marine City with a neutron bomb, the Autobots attempted to stop them. Star Saber knocked the remote control for the bomb from Leozack's hand, but before he could grab it himself, the team's Breast Animals pounced upon him, and the Lionbreast recovered the remote for its master. Fortunately, the bomb had been disarmed by Braver. Tanker Hijack Operation Not long after, Lionbreast and the Breast Animals faced off against Star Saber once more during a battle in the asteroid belt, but were scattered by a barrage of fire from Galaxy Shuttle. {{storylink|A Fierce Battle!!
With the addition of Gaihawk to the Breastforce ranks, the team preferred to fight in their combined form of Liokaiser rather than individually, and as such, the Breast Animals were deployed less frequently. Immediately before the team's first combination, during a clash on planet Micro, the Lionbreast was released to attack Star Saber, but a single kick from the Autobot hero knocked it to the ground. {{storylink|Unite! In its next battle, the Lionbreast went up against Victory Leo with the aid of the Kōmoribreast, but the two creatures were no match for the feral Autobot, and the Lionbreast was easily pinned beneath Leo's massive paw. {{storylink|Fight!! :Magmatron is a Predacon from the Beast Era portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
predacon

As befits a decorated Warrior-General, Magmatron is capable of both elegant, reasoned judgment and wild, vicious action. Once he has set his sights on a goal, his drive to achieve it is unwavering and he will accept nothing less than total victory. Despite these attributes, and prodigious physical power, Magmatron's greatest advantage often lies in his charismatic leadership. Revered and admired by his soldiers, Magmatron fits the title "Emperor of Destruction" better than most.

On the surface, Magmatron seems to have much in common with Megatron. Both are schemers and planners, willing to subvert the established Predacon power structure to suit their plans and ultimate ambition for power, and possessing the strength to fight off any who challenge them. Their key difference lies in their relationships to that power structure. Megatron is at heart a rebel, working outside existing society. Magmatron, on the other hand, values his position of power and eminence in the current Predacon hierarchy, and though he schemes to someday stand at the top of that body, he is unwilling to risk his current high standings any more than he must to achieve those future goals. Also, while Megatron is more openly abusive and harsh with his troops, Magmatron operates with more military professionalism when interacting with his own soldiers. This aspect of Magmatron's personality may also be due to his more professional background, as opposed to Megatron's more rogue-ish ways.

Magmatron possesses a mitotic spark which allows him to separate into three dinosaur forms called Landsaur, Seasaur, and Skysaur, or merge them into a single monstrosity called Magmasaur.

After the defeat of Galvatron, Magmatron (who suffers from a similar chronic grin, even while talking) became the new Predacon Emperor of Destruction. A loyal and effective servant to the cause of Predacon equality on Cybertron, Magmatron was perfectly suited for the job. He had a long-standing rivalry with Big Convoy, albeit there was a mutual respect between the two enemies.

Aboard his ship, the Dinosaur, he tracked Big Convoy and his Maximal recruits to the planet Gaea where he learned of the Angolmois capsules that had been launched from the self-destructing Nemesis. Magmatron immediately set a course to track them down, desiring their incredible power. Competing with Big Convoy, Magmatron secured numerous capsules for the Predacons.

However, he did not keep them long. The Blendtrons, a trio of super-powerful and freakish Transformers, stole the capsules from both factions. As it turned out, the Angolmois energy was actually the lifeforce of Unicron. Offering up Galvatron's corpse as a new body, the Blendtrons released the Angolmois energy and Unicron was reborn.

Magmatron immediately challenged the Chaos Bringer but was quickly vanquished into a wormhole, leaving his crew of Predacons leaderless and rather ineffective. Magmatron escaped the wormhole toward the end of the Unicron battle, after Unicron had possessed Vector Sigma, and willingly fought side-by-side with Big Convoy and the Maximals to stop their mutual enemy.

After a lengthy battle, Unicron was defeated and driven from Vector Sigma by Big Convoy's Matrix Buster. Putting aside their rivalry, Big Convoy and Magmatron formed an alliance. The Maximals and Predacons then worked side-by-side and hand-in-hand to rebuild their ravaged planet.

Magmatron and his forces were changed into Transformers from actual animals by the power of the Angolmois capsules.Beast Wars Neo: Prologue Magmatron and Big Convoy battled across the cosmos until Magmatron was finally felled by the might of Unicron. In his dying moments, he repented of his wrong-doings, and indeed, Big Convoy struck the blow that finished Unicron once and for all with Magmatron's own sword.Double Cross

IDW Beast Wars comics
During the early days of the Pax Cybertronia, Magmatron endangered the fragile peace, being an indomitable general who would not accept defeat. When he was finally brought to heel by the Tripredacus Council, he still chafed under the terms of the treaty and the council's apparent willingness to roll over for the Maximals. However, he accepted his change in status and maneuvered into a position on the Bi-Partate Committee for State Affairs alongside his old enemy, Big Convoy. Beast Wars Sourcebook

Frustrated by the Council's decision to bide its time, Magmatron recruited a small band of disenchanted warriors and fostered a professional relationship with the Tripredacus agent Ravage to keep abreast of the situation on Earth. With this information, he formed an elegant and tightly-knit plan to travel backwards in time to prehistoric Earth and reprogram all of the remaining protoform Maximals into Predacons. Keeping his plans secret until the last moment, he revealed to his forces that the Council has ordered him to pick up where their previous agent failed: capture the rogue Megatron.

Chronically displacing his crew so that they could not be detected by the beast warriors who are already there, they set to work. He ordered Razorbeast to begin activating the stasis pods while Spittor, Manterror, Transquito, and Iguanus reported on their progress. They witnessed the birth of three Predacons, but Spittor was greeted by the Maximal, Polar Claw. More Maximals were spotted, revealing Razorbeast as a spy, but the red warthog escaped into the wilderness. The Gathering issue 1

Once his new army was assembled, Magmatron ordered them to hunt down the Maximals. Drill Bit and Spittor, however, accompanied Magmatron on his personal quest to find Razorbeast. He located the spy and quickly gained the upper hand with his three dinosaur modes, but Razorbeast pulled a fast one, and buried the Predacon leader beneath a mountainside. Magmatron soon recouped his losses by recovering the spark of the Tripredacus agent, Ravage. The Gathering issue 2

Iguanus, having located a blank protoform, assisted Magmatron with rebirthing Ravage in a new, Transmetal 2 body. After issuing seek-and-destroy orders to his new lieutenant, Magmatron set forth on his next mission. He located Megatron, and the two engaged in battle. Megatron insisted that Magmatron was foolish for coming after him alone, as Ravage did, but Magmatron was not alone—Iguanus and Drill Bit ambushed Megatron.

With the transwarp shunt set up and ready to send Megatron into the hands of the Council, it was with reluctance that Magmatron again did battle. This time, an intruding Grimlock challenged the Predacon schemer. The Gathering issue 3 A tough fight, but Magmatron's triple beast modes eventually won out. Grimlock was enough of a distraction, however, to let Razorbeast and Optimus Minor enter his camp. Magmatron was thwarted by Razorbeast in hand-to-hand combat. As the Predacon lunged toward Minor, who was sitting upon the unconscious Megatron, the monkey activated a chronal displacement device. This sent Megatron back into his own chronal place, making Magmatron stumble onto the transwarp shunt. Razorbeast activated it, sending the warlord to parts unknown. The Gathering issue 4

Razorbeast's meddling in Magmatron's escape caused the Predacon commander to be consigned to a temporal limbo, able to traverse the whole of history but unable to affect any of the events he witnessed. Through this, he saw the eventual end of Cybertron as its inhabitants set upon each other with beastly fury while Shokaract summoned Unicron to devour the planet. Knowing that the roots of this catastrophic event were already beginning in his time, Magmatron turned to the enemy who had consigned him to this fate. Exerting what little influence he could, he stabilized Razorbeast's Transwarp carrier signal, allowing the time-lost Maximal's message to be received by Lio Convoy. The Ascending issue 1

Magmatron's meddling effect on the timestream was noticed by Unicron, who dispatched Rartorata to Earth to deal with the assembling combatants there. His ability to change the future was increased further, however, when during the confusion of the battle on Earth between the Maximal and Predacon forces, a playing 'possum Ravage made contact with the chronal displacement bands. Magmatron was able to use his limited influence to hold Ravage inside Chronospace, where he was able to make contact with the former Decepticon. Magmatron briefed him on the apocalypse that could yet come, urging him to call a truce with the Maximals in an effort to stop the end of all things. The Ascending issue 2

After a combined group of Maximals and Predacons returned with Ravage to present-day Cybertron to battle Shokaract, Ravage again briefed with Magmatron, who instructed him to send a Maximal to attach a chronal-displacement device onto Shokaract's body. When this happened (at the cost of Prowl II), Shokaract was brought to Magmatron within Chronospace. Magmatron showed him Cybertron's future and the realization that he was a pawn of Unicron caused Shokaract to rip out his Anti-Matrix and explode, sending Magmatron back to his normal time on Cybertron (and cause a disruption in transwarp space where Autobot shuttle Omega Delta was travelling). Magmatron stated there would be no more war, for the day at least, and reported that Razorbeast died heroically.

Magmatron is a member of the Dinobot faction, revered and reviled in equal measure. He'd been on an intergalactic quest for energy capsules, but when he returned to Cybertron he found it being overrun by Vehicon drones!
: Magmatron transforms from a massive robot into three prehistoric reptiles—a Quetzalcoatlus ("Skysaur"), a Giganotosaurus ("Landsaur"), and an Elasmosaurus ("Seasaur"). These three beasts can also combine into some horrible, chimeric dragon-like creature. In robot mode, Magmatron has free-rolling wheels on his feet, for some unknown purpose.

: The Landsaur unit features a spring-loaded launcher in its mouth, enabling it to fire any of the five missiles the toy comes with. The launcher/throat assembly disconnects for robot mode, forming a sword-hilt primarily for use with the sword-blade missile. The hilt can also be converted into a pistol by flipping out an extra handle from the side. The Seasaur's lower body forms a shield that mounts on Magmatron's left arm; it also contains two grey missiles, and features a spring-loaded gimmick that causes the front paddles to flap when the rear ones are squeezed together. The Skysaur's wings feature a spring-loaded flapping action, triggered by pulling on its tail, and also hide a pair of smooth red blade/missiles.
Notes
* Magmatron's Maximal status on his Beast Machines toy bio (and the rest of his bio, for that matter) is difficult to reconcile with his appearances elsewhere, but one hypothetical sequence of events is that, after the climax of Beast Wars Neo, he returned to Cybertron, discovered it overrun with Megatron's Vehicons, changed his allegiance to Maximal, and fought the Vehicons as a member of the Dinobots. Or, call it a micro-continuity and be done with it.

* Magmatron's Maximal on-package bio gives his quotation as "Til all is won", an obvious reference to a similar phrase that pops up in numerous other places in Transformers lore.
Transformers: Super-God Masterforce (トランスフォーマー 超神マスターフォース Toransufōmā: Chōjin Masutāfōsu) is a Japanese animated series that ran throughout 1988 into the early months of 1989 for 43 broadcast episodes, in support of the toyline of the same name. "Chōjin Masterforce no Theme" plays as its opening theme and "Moero! Transformer" for its ending.

Overview
With the conclusion of the first Japanese-exclusive Transformers franchise, The Headmasters, head writer Masumi Kaneda felt that he had brought the story concepts introduced in The Transformers: The Movie to a conclusion, and sought to make a "fresh start" with Super-God Masterforce. Whereas The Headmasters had featured the existing cast of the American animated series, and gradually introduced new characters as it progressed, Super-God Masterforce was, on the surface, almost entirely divorced from what had gone before, featuring only a cast of entirely new characters in a new scenario. Although links between Masterforce and the events and characters of The Headmasters were expanded upon in various other media and articles, the series itself is remarkably self-contained, to the point of frustration, with many important background aspects not fully divulged in the course of the broadcast series.

There is a very human-centric focus in Masterforce, with the basic theme of the series being that "with the Masterforce, you too transform"—that human beings are to be responsible for the defence of their own planet. This resulted in the very different approach the series takes, which sees the figures released that year by Hasbro as Headmasters and Powermasters reimagined as "Headmaster Juniors" and "Godmasters"—human beings who connect to lifeless Transtector bodies and actually become Transformers themselves. In a similar thematic move, the Autobot Pretenders do not don exterior shells and pass themselves off as "giant humans," as in American fiction, but instead perform an ill-defined holistic transformation that actually alters them at a cellular level, shrinking them down into human forms.

For some inexplicable reason, this was the first Transformers cartoon to be shown in Russia, followed by the other Japanese cartoons (in the wrong order), which left many Russian children very confused as far as continuity goes.

Storyline
After the events of The Headmasters, the Earth has been free of Transformers for several years, until the emergence of the Decepticon Pretenders. This group of villains were pursued to Earth during the Stone Age by a group of Autobots led by Metalhawk, and when both teams crash-landed on the planet, they used their special "Pretender" powers to adopt new disguises. Metalhawk and his Autobots took on the forms of human beings and began to live among the burgeoning humanity, guiding the evolution of their culture and society, while the Decepticons became monstrous creatures and tormented early man as "demons." Eventually, the Autobot Pretenders defeated the Decepticons and sealed them away, but as the series begins, they have been liberated from their prisons by the evil alien energy-being, Devil Z, to play a role in his schemes.

With the return of the Decepticons, the Autobot Pretenders are forced to drop their disguises and take up arms once again, gaining allies in three young human children (Shūta Gō, Cab and Minerva) who are imbued with the power of the "Masterforce" and bond with three Transtectors sent to Earth from the planet Master. The Decepticons recruit their own Headmasters Juniors as well, and as the battles on Earth progress, the true objective of Devil Z's plan comes to light. The arrival of Mega, Giga, Buster and Hydra heralds the quest for the "Godmasters"—super-powerful lifeforms that are the perfect fusion of human and Transformer, able to manipulate Chōkon Power. With these four warriors on the side of the Decepticons, the Autobots must find Godmasters of their own, and succeed when they are joined by a young trucker named Ginrai, who soon recruits three more Autobot Godmasters.

Incensed by this failure, Devil Z ups his plans by summoning BlackZarak (the newest incarnation of Decepticon leader Scorponok, who is busy leading the Decepticons against the Autobots out in space) to Earth. Discovering his plan, Grand Maximus races to Earth to inform the Autobots of BlackZarak's approach. Our heroes create Godbomber, a drone that serves as an upgrade for Ginrai, enabling him to transform into "God Ginrai" and fight in space, allowing him to beat BlackZarak back.

The Autobot suffer a grave loss when the final Godmaster, Doubleclouder, is discovered and sides with the Decepticons, using his ability to adopt two robot forms to infiltrate the Autobots and destroy their headquarters. Without a base of operations, the Autobots are at a disadvantage when BlackZarak returns and merges with Devil Z to bring about the destruction of Mankind. As characters lose their humanity, change their alliances, and engage in final battles, everything comes down to a climactic duel between God Ginrai and BlackZarak atop the Matterhorn, where the Autobot hero must beat his opponent, or all life on Earth will be forfeit.
