Synopsis
Deathsaurus issues his latest threat to the Autobots via video-tape, bragging that he has developed a super smart-missile that can strike anywhere in the world. The deadly projectiles are launched from an orbiting satellite and fire automatically, meaning that even Star Saber will be unable to reach the satellite in time to stop their launch. Deathsaurus quickly demonstrates by targeting Sambalpur, India, and despite the speed with which Star Saber issues emergency orders, the Multiforce and Rescue Team arrive at the location only seconds before the missile impacts. Upon impact, the missile detonates and scatters multiple smaller missiles across the immediate area, hitting Kathmandu, Calcutta, the Bay of Bengal and the Deccan Plateau, causing widespread devastation. After providing aid in Kathmandu, the Rescue Team and Multiforce head for Calcutta, after being given one strict order by Star Saber: Do not engage any Decepticons under any circumstances. This is Deathsaurus's true goal—using the threat of his new missiles to stay the Autobots' hand so that his forces can freely gather as much energy as they want.

At an oil refinery in Pakistan, Leozack and the Dinoforce casually steal energy from a power plant, while Leozack grumbles over the cowardly nature of the plan. When the Autobots learn of this attack, an alarmed Star Saber instructs the Brainmasters to head out at once—Victory Leo is on patrol in Pakistan and is unaware of Deathsaurus's missile plan, meaning that he's sure to attack the Decepticons on sight! Star Saber's fear proves correct as Victory Leo tears through the Dinoforce, dismissing Leozack's warning about the missiles as a bluff. The Brainmasters arrive just in time to stop him before Gōryū reports the attack to Deathsaurus, and find themselves having to restrain Victory Leo physically.

Back at the Shuttle Base, Star Saber realizes that in order to defeat Deathsaurus's scheme, there is only one option: use the special circuit Perceptor has implanted within him to combine with Victory Leo. Perceptor tries to dissuade Star Saber from the strategy, fearful of the strain the process will put upon the Supreme Commander's body, but Star Saber is resolute and departs.

On their way to Calcutta, Wingwaver, Pīpō, Holi and Jean run into Jarugar, Gaihawk and Killbison, who are in the middle of carrying off some energy, pausing only to mock the Autobots before heading off on their way. In Pakistan, Victory Leo and the Brainmasters are getting the same treatment from the Dinoforce (particularly Kakuryū, who just can't help himself) when Star Saber arrives. Thinking that Star Saber's arrival means that the fighting is back on, Victory Leo charges at Leozack, only to be intercepted by Star Saber, who tries to explain that the true enemy is in space. Victory Leo ignores him and tries to press his attack, forcing Star Saber to lay him out. Predictably, this hurls Victory Leo into a flaming rage, and he unleashes a barrage of blows on Star Saber, but the Supreme Commander does not strike back, simply taking the hits and pleading for Victory Leo to work with him. As their eyes meet and Victory Leo sees the determination in his commander's eyes, he agrees, and the combination circuit implanted in Star Saber's head is activated. Star Saber and Victory Leo transform into their flight modes, fuse together into the colossal "Victory Saber", and immediately rocket into the heavens at monumental speed. With this additional speed, Star Saber is easily able to outrace Deathsaurus's satellite, reaching it before it launches the next volley of missiles. Star Saber and Victory Leo disconnect, transform and recombine into a mighty new Victory Saber robot mode, and are about to destroy the satellite when Deathsaurus himself appears to hold them off. Although he puts up a good fight, Deathsaurus is unable to stand up to Victory Saber's power and is blasted off into space, allowing Victory Saber to destroy the satellite and missiles.

News of victory quickly reaches the Autobots on Earth, and the Brainmasters make short work of Leozack and the Dinoforce, while Wingwaver looks under rocks for Decepticons to fight, much to Holi and Jean's amusement.

Notes
Lost in translation
Among the many changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
* Jean says he and Holi were "working in North America" when they got the call to get to India.
* Instead of wondering if the incoming missile is a dud, Wingwaver shouts that it is a "multi-headed missile" before it's done anything to suggest as such.
* The four missile targets are listed as "north to Tibet, east to Chungnan island, south to the Pacific Ocean, west to Central Asia". Of course, the Indian ocean is south of India...
* Deathsaurus specifically mentions that the missiles he's using are multi-headed missiles in the recorded warning he sent Star Saber, raising the question of why the Autobots were taken by surprise at the missile's nature.
* As usual, Kakuryū's singing of "Cybertron Banzai" is absent from the English dub.
* Gōryū says the energy will explode if Kakuryū drops it.
* Perceptor says Star Saber's flight speed will be "doubled" rather than multiplied many times.

Animation and technical errors
* While Transformers has never really striven for realism, at one point when Victory Saber and Deathsaurus are fighting in space, the Decepticon leader unleashes his fire-breath. In space.
* In the Latin dub, Minerva has a male voice.

Continuity errors
* In this episode, both Wingwaver and Boater run in robot mode while their team mates roll or fly, presumably because their boat modes wouldn't be able to move across land. In the previous episode, however, Waver was able to cross the ground despite a distinct lack of wheels.

Transformers references
*Perceptor, Wheeljack and Minerva have been on Earth since "Ginrai Dies!!". The show continues to refrain from actually referring to them by name.
*It was also back in "Ginrai Dies!!" that Victory Leo's body design was established to be a power-up for Star Saber. The combination circuit to allow this merger was implanted in Star Saber's head in the previous episode.

Trivia
*This episode marks the first apperance of Victory Saber
*This episode marks the last apperance of Preceptor,Wheeljack and Minerva in the G1 set

Miscellaneous trivia
* There was a two-week break between the previous episode and this one when the series originally aired.
* Yet another episode that defers use of one of the show's stock title cards, which present the title as white-text-on-black.
* Minerva speaks for the first time since she first appeared in Victory. She has a different voice actress from her Super-God Masterforce appearances.
* When Deathsaurus is told that Star Saber is heading towards his missile launcher, he's seen communicating using a phone as opposed to something more futuristic.
* Deathsaurus's plan with the missile launcher is a little overthought. He decides to tell the Autobots about it and just uses it as a threat to keep them from interfering with his flunkies collecting energy, and never even seems to consider using it on the Autobots.

Synopsis
With the energy of Atlantis in their clutches, Deathsaurus and the Breastforce head to the Dark Nebula aboard the Thunder Arrow in order to liberate the Emperor of Destruction's Planet-Destroying Fortress. On Earth, Star Saber has already deduced that this is the villain's plan, and dispatches the Brainmasters as an advance unit to chase down and stop the Decepticons from reaching the Dark Nebula. He contacts Greatshot in Sector Two, and requests that he join up with the Brainmasters aboard Galaxy Shuttle en route.

Meanwhile, on a beach nearby, the poor Dinoforce have been washed up on the shore after being left behind by Deathsaurus. Gōryū is insistent, however, that their emperor will be back for them soon enough, and Kakuryū is happy to get a short vacation. Gōryū is of the mind that warriors don't get vacations, so when Yokuryū returns to report the presence of an energy-filled shuttleport nearby, the team heads out to raid it.

Out in the depths of space, the Thunder Arrow enters the Dark Nebula and flies into the dormant husk of Deathsaurus's fortress, initiating the transfer of Atlantis's energy into its systems. As the Breastforce watch, the fortress slowly comes to life, shifting and moving until it is, at long last, fully re-energized. The Decepticons board the mammoth craft, and when Deathsaurus gives the order, it begins to move... towards Earth.

Back on Earth, Star Saber and Victory Leo are about to depart to join the Brainmasters in space when the report of the Dinoforce's attack on the shuttleport comes in. With their forces spread thin, the two mighty Autobots have no choice but to respond to the threat, and engage Dinoking in battle.

On the fringes of the Dark Nebula, the Brainmasters exit Galaxy Shuttle and combine into Road Caesar to investigate further, only to narrowly avoid a beam from Deathsaurus's fortress as it emerges from the nebula. Greatshot arrives in time to back them up, but they are unable to stop a hail of meteor bombs launching from the fortress and heading straight for Earth. Even the Autobots on the plant itself are powerless to stop the meteors from impacting, and widespread devastation across the face of the planet results. Star Saber spots a meteor hurtling down above him and Victory Leo, and call off their battle with Dinoking so that they can retreat to the safety of the Shuttle Base. Dinoking, unfortunately, takes the full brunt of the subsequent explosion and splits back into the Dinoforce, who blame the Autobots for dropping the bomb. Star Saber informs Gōryū that the meteors are the work of Deathsaurus, but he refuses to believe that his leader would threaten the Earth with the Dinoforce still on it. The truth of the Autobots' words strikes home, however, and Gōryū realizes that they have been abandoned. As Star Saber and Victory Leo depart for space, Pīpō attempts to treat Gōryū's wounds, but he refuses aid from an Autobot until he passes out, allowing Pīpō to tend to him.

Jean, meanwhile, has strapped a set of boosters to the Illumina II and flies off to his school, fearing for the safety of his friends. He makes a rough landing on the campus, but all his friends emerge unharmed from the school building, and he assures them that Star Saber will save the day.

Out in space, Road Caesar and Greatshot's failure to stop the meteor bombs in flight prompts them to try attacking the launch bay instead. Thankfully, the approaching Star Saber and Victory Leo are able to destroy the remaining bombs as they fly towards Earth, and they just manage to arrive in time to save Greatshot and Road Caesar from death at the hands of the fortress's beam cannons. After Star Saber orders the two Autobots to retreat to Earth, he and Victory Leo are attacked by Liokaiser, but quickly merge into Victory Saber and blast him back into the fortress with one shot. Deathsaurus mutters that it would have been nice to torture Victory Saber a little more, but decides to simply end it now, and promptly strikes the Autobot with a single, powerful beam from his fortress. Victory Saber howls in pain, and is sent spiralling off into space.

Now, with no-one to stand in his way, Deathsaurus's fortress draws closer to Earth with each passing moment...

Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
* Drillhorn asks if Hellbat's going to take credit for all the work the Dinoforce has done, rather than suggesting that without them, their workload may end up being given to Hellbat.
* Greatshot is stationed on planet Micro.
* Rather than try to play up the Autobot's honesty, Star Saber simply points out to Gōryū that Deathsaurus is firing on the Earth when he knows the Dinoforce is still on it.
* Star Saber tells Road Caesar and Greatshot that the plan is to attack the fortress from all sides, rather than telling them to retreat to Earth because they're injured.

Animation or technical errors
* While watching Star Saber and Victory Leo arrive at the site of the Dinoforce's attack, Gōryū is drawn with a purple Autobot insignia.
* In the English dub, Blacker says "You go back in the shuttle, the three of us will merge into Road Caesar." The thing is, there's no one else present for him to be talking to.

Continuity errors
* When Star Saber first deactivated Deathsaurus's space city he knew exactly how to disable it. When it was activated a second time, he didn't seem to have even the slightest clue how to stop it.

Continuity notes
* The theft of Atlantis's energy and the abandonment of the Dinoforce occurred in the previous episode.

* Greatshot was appointed commander of the Sector Two defense force in "Fight!! Victory Leo".

Real world references
* A member of the horrified crowd that looks up as the meteors come crashing down is wearing a… smock with "Van Halen" written on it.

Trivia
* This episode marks the last apperance of Leozack, Drillhorn, Gaihawk, Hellbat, Jarugar and Killbison as individuals in the cartoon (not including clip shows); In the next episode they only appear as Liokaiser.
*This episode also marks the last apperance of Dinoking

This episode also marks the last apperance of Dinoking
Synopsis
Aboard the Thunder Arrow on planet Micro, the freshly-liberated Gaihawk is properly reunited with his Breastforce comrades, with the exception of Hellbat, who Leozack has had step outside. Hellbat's paranoia immediately gets the better of him and he listens in on the conversation, discovering that Leozack has summoned an old subordinate, Deathcobra, to take Hellbat's place on the team.

Meanwhile, Star Saber and Governor Riker are busy scanning the planet to find some trace of the Breastforce, while speculating on why the villains put such effort into rescuing Gaihawk in the first place. Star Saber checks in with Holi, who is out searching with Jean and Clipper, and directs him to investigate the mountains outside the city. As bad luck would have it, the trio spot Hellbat flying over the mountains and observe him trailing a green helicopter.

The helicopter, as it turns out, is Deathcobra, and Hellbat has intercepted him with the intention of making a request. The two transform to robot mode to discuss it, and Deathcobra is rather disgusted to find that Hellbat wants him to go back to where he came from so that he can ensure he will still have a place on the Breastforce team. Deathcobra swats him away in revulsion and moves to leave, forcing Hellbat to pull his weapon on his would-be teammate. Deathcobra dares him to shoot, marching up and seizing the weapon's barrel, but Hellbat even surprises himself when he winds up pulling the trigger, blasting Deathcobra in his side. Holi, Jean and Clipper choose this moment to arrive, peering at the pair of Decepticons from the edge of a nearby cliff just as Deathcobra returns fire on Hellbat. The terrified Breastforcer dives behind a nearby boulder, wailing that he didn't mean it and begging Deathcobra to stop as he fires back blindly over the top of the rock. When the shooting suddenly stops, however, Hellbat peeps out to see that... he's managed to accidentally score a fatal hit on Deathcobra, killing him! Unsurprisingly, Hellbat panics and starts coming up with ways to hide the body, but when he looks around, he spots the Autobot trio on the cliff, and inspiration strikes. He immediately transforms and races back to the Thunder Arrow, where he blames Holi for Deathcobra's death.

As Holi and co. cautiously examine Deathcobra's body, Holi reports the strange occurrence to Star Saber, who tells them to be on their guard. Unfortunately, the warning comes just as the rest of the Breastforce appear, and Hellbat leads the charge on the three diminutive heroes. Star Saber immediately heads out to their rescue, arriving just in time to save an injured Clipper from Gaihawk. Although confused by Hellbat's claim that the Autobots are responsible for Deathcobra's death, Star Saber is ready for battle nonetheless, and manages to hold the Breastforce at bay, until Leozack makes a startling announcement, and orders the warriors to combine! The six Decepticons merge into Liokaiser, and Star Saber, realizing why rescuing Gaihawk had been such a necessity, links up with the V-Star to take on the giant combiner. As Star Saber and Holi struggle with Liokaiser, Jean and Clipper race off to inform Governor Riker. The fight does not go well—Holi is injured, and Star Saber is robbed of his sword, punctured by spiked rings and skewered by Liokaiser's staff before being laid out.

As Liokaiser presses his blaster into Star Saber's face, a shining figure suddenly descends out of the sky—God Ginrai has arrived to join the battle! Even God Ginrai cannot handle Liokaiser alone, but when he and Star Saber double-team the Decepticon combiner, the villain is overpowered and separates back into his component parts. As the Decepticons flee, Star Saber attempts to give chase, but collapses and is caught by God Ginrai. Star Saber thanks his friend, but God Ginrai tells him that he is the one who should be giving thanks, for all the help Star Saber has given him protecting his sector of space. Jean and Clipper return just as Holi is blaming himself for getting Star Saber injured, but Star Saber assures him that it was not his fault. Concerns for his health are now secondary—the Decepticons are on their way back to Earth, and the Autobots have to hurry and catch up to them!

Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub]:
* Clipper says her legs have been injured rather than her arm.
* After the big battle, rather than announcing that she's called for a relief squad, Clipper offers Star Saber the use of a first aid kit.
* Leozack accuses Star Saber of killing Deathcobra, which is doubly wrong-Hellbat actually killed him, but blamed the murder on Holi.

Transformers references
* The Autobots and Decepticons have been on Planet Micro since "Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior". That episode also featured the debuts of Clipper and Governor Riker, and established that Micro was under Ginrai's protection.
* The Breastforce rescued Gaihawk in the previous episode. This episode reveals why the rescue was so important.

Trivia
This episode marks the first apperance of Liokaser.

Miscellaneous trivia
*This episode is another one which foregoes either of Victorys stock title cards and uses white text on a black screen.
*Seriously, the Breastforce believed that Holi, a Micromaster, killed Deathcobra? Leozack was skeptical at least, so he might not have actually believed Hellbat-but even if he knew he was lying, he had to tolerate having him on the team to form Liokaiser.
*Star Saber really took a beating this episode-he could barely stand after the fight with Liokaiser. It won't be the last time, either...
*Despite taking no obvious damage itself, Deathcobra's Breast Animal appears to have gone offline at the same time as Deathcobra himself, suggesting the Breast Animals are entirely dependent on their Breastforce partner.
* Isn't it slightly odd that Deathcobra has an Earth vehicle for an alt-mode, despite the fact he's yet to visit the planet? For that matter, all the Micromasters seem to turn into Earth cars too.
Synopsis
After Hellbat's recent attack on planet Micro, Star Saber checks in with Blacker for an update on Decepticon activity on Earth. Blacker reports that although there has been a random, unfocused attack by the Dinoforce, there have been no sightings of the other Breastforce members. This, we soon learn, is because the Breastforce are all also on Micro, stewing aboard the Thunder Arrow and grumbling about Hellbat's self-serving scheming. Although Drillhorn, Jarugar and Killbison are all in favour of disposing of Hellbat, Leozack silences them with the reminder that they are about to get a new comrade, which will enable them to better keep an eye on the sneak. Hellbat chooses this moment to return to the Thunder Arrow, and is promptly accosted by his teammates and grilled over his recent operation with Blue Bacchus and Black Shadow. Luckily for him, he is able to weasel out of trouble by appealing to Leozack's sense of treachery and claiming that he was attempting to acquire a personal supply of energy for the Breastforce that would enable Leozack to attain his dream of one day overthrowing Deathsaurus. With that matter dealt with, he announces the Breastforce's latest plan—an attack on planet Micro's maximum security lunar prison, to free their old comrade, Gaihawk.

A little later, a crippled shuttlecraft appears in the sky above the prison, repeatedly issuing a mayday. The prison staff decide to let it land, but as the shuttle touches down and scrapes along the macadam, it suddenly explodes, destroying the bridge which connects the prison to the mainland. As the prison drifts off across the sea of lava upon which it floats, the Breastforce make their move, having escaped the shuttle before its detonation. As the tremors of the explosion reverberate through the prison, Gaihawk realizes that his teammates have finally arrived. Guards rush to fend off the Breastforce's attack, but they are sorely outmatched, and it is decided to move Gaihawk to a more secure location. Unfortunately, the villain is prepared, and cuts down the contingent of guards who come to move him with a concealed blade.

News of the attack quickly reaches the Autobots down on Micro, and Star Saber instructs Holi to search for Greatshot while he and the other Rescue Team members head to the moon. Their arrival is observed by Hellbat, who quickly informs the other Breastforcers and leaves them to battle the Autobot leader while he ventures into the prison to find Gaihawk. Hellbat hypnotises the guards and frees the entire prison, sending them out to fight the Autobots, but as he thinks out loud about the jeopardy that the arrival of Gaihawk will place his position in the Breastforce in, Gaihawk himself arrives. Blustering to hide his scheming, Hellbat hugs Gaihawk, who hurls him off and demands to be taken to the energy room.

Outside, Star Saber struggles with Killbison and Leozack, but just as he gets the upper hand, the escaped prisoners appear, tipping the side in evil's favor. Watching the whole scene through a grating in the floor, meanwhile, are Greatshot and Holi, who are sneaking into the prison through the sewer system. The approach proves successful, as they emerge within the prison energy room just as Gaihawk finishes re-energizing himself and freeing his Breast Animal from captivity. It turns out that Gaihawk and Greatshot are old friends, and Gaihawk is not impressed with the fact that Greatshot is now on the side of the angels. As the two old "friends" begin battling, damaging the energy room equipment and destabilizing the flow of lava around the prison, Hellbat races back outside as the prison begins to erupt with geysers of magma. Gaihawk and Greatshot's battle carries them to a walkway above a massive vat of lava, where Gaihawk nails his Autobot opponent with his super-cooled plasma "Ice Needle" attack and sends him tumbling into the tank. Although Greatshot saves himself at the last minute with a grappling line, Gaihawk opts for escape rather than continued battle as the explosions within the prison worsen.

Outside, the Autobots guide the prisoners and guards into Galaxy Shuttle to take them to safety, while Leozack and Hellbat carry their non-flying comrades away. When Holi and Greatshot do not appear, Star Saber ventures into the prison to find them. Holi is hauling Greatshot out of the pit when a tremor hurls him in as well, but Star Saber arrives in the nick of time to save them from a molten fate. Everyone gets to safety, but the prison is lost for good as it sinks beneath the lava sea. Although the Decepticons have escaped, something good has come of the whole affair – a friendship has been born between Holi and Greatshot. Ain't that lovely?
Notes
Lost in Translation
The changes made by the Omni Productions dub include:
* Instead of complaining about all the talk of killing Hellbat, Leozack is skeptical that the other Breastforce members could kill Hellbat by themselves.
* Rather than suggesting to Leozack that they collect energy so they can overthrow Deathsaurus, Hellbat just thinks they should set up on their own.
* In the Japanese version, Fire tells Star Saber they'll have to eliminate the prisoners to go on, but Star Saber rejects this, saying the prisoners are being manipulated. In the English dub, Fire says they need to get past the prisoners, and Star Saber responds that the prisoners have too much firepower.
* Immediately after this, Leozack yells "ATTACK!" and... the rest of the Breastforce starts dancing on the spot. In the Japanese version, they're celebrating because they have the Autobots pinned down.

Trivia
This episode marks the first apperance of Gaihawk and Governer Riker

Transformers references
* The Autobots' trip to planet Micro, their meeting with Greatshot and Hellbat's scheme with the Crossformers all happened in the previous episode.

Miscellaneous trivia
* When the Decepticons start dancing around, Jarugar starts waving a couple of fans.
* While Greatshot was hanging over the lava, did it not occur to him that one of his alternate modes is a jet?
* The R4 DVDs include the English narration for the next episode preview, which spoils a lot more than the Japanese narration!

Trivia
This episode marks the last apperance of Governer Riker

Transformers references
* The Autobots' trip to planet Micro, their meeting with Greatshot and Hellbat's scheme with the Crossformers all happened in the previous episode.

Trivia
Obviesly this episode marks the first aperrance of Gaihawk

Miscellaneous trivia
* When the Decepticons start dancing around, Jarugar starts waving a couple of fans.
* While Greatshot was hanging over the lava, did it not occur to him that one of his alternate modes is a jet?
* The R4 DVDs include the English narration for the next episode preview, which spoils a lot more than the Japanese narration!

Synopsis
With Deathsaurus's Planet-Destroying Fortress active and raining meteors down upon the Earth and Star Saber missing in action, the Multiforce and Rescue Team are left to protect the planet on their own. The Multiforce merge into Landcross to stop a meteor from crashing on top of the Shuttle Base, but are caught in the explosion and badly injured themselves. As the Rescue Team hurry to and fro tending to the wounded, the injured Gōryū comes to in the medical bay and requests an audience with any Autobot. Jean comes to his side, and Gōryū gives him the plans to the power source of Deathsaurus's fortress as a means of paying back the Decepticon leader for abandoning them. With all the other Autobots occupied, Jean realizes that he is the only one who can perform this task, but as he boards the Galaxy Shuttle with the Illumina II, Holi spots him and follows him aboard. Jean explains his plan to Holi, and the pair resolve to see it through to the end.

Out in space, Deathsaurus's fortress looms ever nearer to the Earth, and at the villain's instruction, Liokaiser initiates its transformation into its even-more-powerful Destroyer Mode. As the fortress shifts and changes, the inert form of Victory Saber, lying atop its hull where he crash-landed, is jarred back into the waking world. Realization dawns upon the horrified Victory Saber that Deathsaurus plans to eliminate the Earth with one shot of the fortress's main cannon, and he flies into action once more, attempting to destroy the cannon. Although his blasts have no effect, Deathsaurus dispatches Liokaiser to occupy Victory Saber as the minutes tick by until the cannon fully charges. Jean and Holi arrive just as the two combatants clash, and Star Saber disconnects from Victory Leo, leaving him to fight Liokaiser while Star Saber covers his son's entrance into the fortress. Victory Leo and Liokaiser's battle is a brutal one, but in the end, the Autobot succeeds in blasting the combiner into the fortress's cannon barrel, which, still charging, drains his energy dry. With his consciousness fading and his body unable to move, Liokaiser can only utter a fading scream for help as he drifts off into the depths of space.

Meanwhile, Jean successfully pilots the Illumina II into the heart of the fortress, where he wires his vessel to explode and take out the power core. Ejecting from the mech, Jean beats a retreat in his spacesuit, and the Illumina II goes up in flames just seconds before Deathsaurus fires his cannon. As the power core is torn to pieces, the fortress's weapons deactivate, and Star Saber swoops into the fortress to find Jean. Before he can locate his son, however, he is confronted by the enraged Deathsaurus himself, and the two leaders engage in a ferocious final battle that stretches across the fortress. Every weapon in the two warriors' arsenals is unleashed until Star Saber blasts out one of Deathsaurus's eyes with his head-cannons, then takes advantage of the villain's hampered sight to stab him through the chest and break his sword off in the wound. Deathsaurus rips out the blade but collapses, gushing oil.

Victory Leo and Holi venture inside the fortress to search for Jean and come across the boy just as he wakes up from a nightmare vision of Illumina dying in the fortress's attack on Earth. Holi takes Jean to safety outside as Victory Leo heads off to look for Star Saber, but just as the young pair exit the fortress, a huge door slams shut behind them. The same occurs all throughout the fortress, trapping Star Saber in the control room, where Deathsaurus communicates with him through a holographic projection. Refusing to lose, Deathsaurus has set the fortress on a collision course with Earth, intending to destroy the
planet and Star Saber with it! Deathsaurus, however, will not accept defeat, and blows himself out of an airlock...but as his shattered body floats off through space, the light dims from his eyes, and no signs of life remain in the body of the once-great Emperor of Destruction.

In the control room, Star Saber desperately opens fire on the door, but cannot break through. Victory Leo and Jean contact him over his communicator, and Victory Leo is able to home in on his position and break into the room through the glass viewscreen. Now knowing that Jean is safely out of the fortress, Star Saber resolves to destroy it even at the cost of his own life, and Victory Leo agrees. The pair merge into jet-mode Victory Saber, and with their enhanced power, smash through the walls of the fortress, unleashing an unbelievable stream of missiles, bombs, cannons, lasers, machine guns and more, tearing the deadly craft apart from within. Bursting through the hull and out into space, the duo disconnect and recombine as robot-mode Victory Saber, concentrating all their energy for one final charge at the fortress's main cannon. Blazing with flaming energy, Victory Saber crashes into the fortress's cannon and releases all his power, vanishing in a burst of light as he finally destroys the fortress in a silent cosmic firestorm.

Down on the surface of the Earth, the flare of light from the fortress's destruction catches the attention of Illumina, who stands amongst a group of injured refugees. As they all watch the sky, Galaxy Shuttle descends, and a short time later, Illumina and Jean have a happy reunion. As she praises him for his heroic deed, Jean tells her that he did it to save her. Holi chimes in that really, it was to save the Earth, but as the Shuttle Base comes rolling over the horizon, the disembodied voice of Star Saber wistfully declares that striving to save the ones you love is the emotion that will truly save the world.

Time passes...

With the Earth saved, Jean reports on the fates of all their allies. The Brainmasters are appointed commanders of the Sector One defense force. The Multiforce are assigned to the Vega Sector and collectively promoted to governor. The Rescue Team have returned to planet Micro. Greatshot returned to being a mercenary and has not been seen since the Silvart War, but Jean is sure he's okay. Gōryū has become a construction foreman on Earth, with most of the Dinoforce working with him—except for Kakuryū, who has started working at an amusement park and is very popular with the children there. Jean himself is in the next grade at school and is still in the same class as Illumina.

But...what of Star Saber...?

Why, he's more active than ever as Supreme Commander of the Autobots!

LET'S SAY GO!
Star Saber and Deathsaurus engage in their greatest battle yet, and everything rests on Jean's shoulders as Earth hovers on the brink of destruction!

Synopsis
The homeworld of the Micromasters, planet Micro, has come under attack from Decepticons. Despite the fact that the planet is in the sector protected by his arm of the Galactic Defense Force, God Ginrai and his forces are occupied battling Overlord's army in G Nebula 89, necessitating the assistance of Star Saber, who quickly heads for Micro. Accompanying him aboard Galaxy Shuttle are the Rescue Team, who are thrilled to be returning home, and Jean, who nearly chokes on a soda when the Rescues inform him that the reason Holi is being so serious is because he's worried about his girlfriend down on Micro. As Star Saber and Galaxy Shuttle enter the planet's atmosphere, their arrival is observed by a mysterious figure…

Star Saber, the Rescue Team and Jean meet with Governor Riker, who informs them that there have been no further reports of Decepticon attacks. After checking in with God Ginrai via video communication, Star Saber decides to give the Rescue Team a little "shore leave" while he investigates on his own. After Holi's girlfriend, Clipper, fails to show up at the planned meeting place, he and the others go searching for her, and spot her coming up an escalator, just as they're travelling down the adjacent one. She tells Holi that he should have called first, and practically ignores him as she carries on with her work, much to the amusement of Jean and the other Rescues.

Meanwhile, Star Saber is shown around the attacked areas by Governor Riker, and is surprised to discover that the areas were completely levelled, even after energy was successfully stolen. He realizes that this is not traditional Decepticon behaviour, and deduces that mercenaries must be involved. He soon rejoins Jean and the Rescue Team for tea with Clipper (who's quite impressed with the dashing Supreme Commander), but they are interrupted by an alarm which alerts them to a three-man Decepticon attack on the plasma energy plant that provides Micro with a third of its energy. Holi gets particularly fired up for battle when Clipper wishes him good luck, but the Micromasters don't manage to get more than a few feet through the exit before their way is barred by the mysterious figure who observed their arrival on the planet. This towering, samurai-like warrior introduces himself as Greatshot, reveals that he is an old acquaintance of Star Saber, and informs the Autobots that they do not need to involve themselves in the battle, as it is his responsibility. At Star Saber's inquiry, Greatshot explains that he has fought with two of the attackers – mercenaries named Blue Bacchus and Black Shadow – before, and has been trying to track them down to settle an old score. Star Saber offers to help, and confronts the third attacker while Greatshot deals with the mercenaries and Jean and the Micromasters handle rescue operations with the V-Star.

The third villain turns out to be Hellbat, who has hired the mercenaries to help him raise his standing in the Decepticon ranks, but finds that he has to triple their cut of the stolen energy in order to convince them to take on Star Saber. Before the two mercs can step in, Greatshot attacks them, and it is revealed that he is seeking revenge for a past betrayal from when he used to work with them. The two battles rage simultaneously, with Star Saber reflecting Hellbat's hypnotism waves back at him, and Greatshot deceiving his old allies with his "Disappearing Dust" trick, appearing to self-destruct and then appearing behind them. Realizing that he has no chance against Star Saber, Hellbat opens fire on the energy plant, causing a chain reaction that threatens to reduce a third of the planet to ashes. Hellbat calls to the mercenaries to pull out, but they don't manage to get away without being badly injured by Greatshot. As the trio takes to the sky, a parting shot from Greatshot hits the energy containers Hellbat is carrying, and they explode in his grip, robbing him of the plasma energy he had gathered (although the mercenaries are still quite insistent that Hellbat will be paying them somehow).

As fire begins to consume the energy plant, Jean returns with the V-Star just in time. Star Saber reconnects with the V-Star and transforms into his super robot mode, and, knowing that it's too late to stop the plant from exploding, has to think quickly. Swinging his Saber Blade, he severs the base of the energy plant, separating it from the planet, and seizes it in his mighty grip, flying it out of the planet's atmosphere. As everyone watches, the plasma energy explodes in a white fireball, and everyone holds their breath... until Star Saber reappears in the sky above, unharmed. Star Saber and Greatshot shake hands, but Holi is surprised when Greatshot departs, thinking that he would make a good addition to the Autobot forces. Star Saber explains that Greatshot doesn't like being tied down by formalities, but Holi's attention is a bit more caught up in Clipper, who wants to know when he's coming back to Micro. Holi says he isn't sure, but asks if it even matters, since he knows she'll just say she's busy. Clipper says that next time, she wants Holi to tell her everything about his adventures and about the Earth, and Holi blushes... but of course, the little guy can't win either way, since Jean just keeps on teasing him.
Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
* In the Japanese version, Star Saber is surprised by the devastation and concludes from the unusual methods that they're dealing with different Decepticons to those active on Earth. In the English dub, he sees nothing out of the ordinary and just laments that the Decepticons have totally destroyed everything.
* When Hellbat tells the Crossformers to attack Star Saber, they're reluctant to do so because of the risk of explosion rather than demanding additional payment.
* Greatshot's speech about how he defected because Star Saber treated him right, becomes generic hero-type speechifying in the dub.
* The dialogue establishing that Greatshot has destroyed the energy Hellbat stolen is changed in the English dub to remove references to the fact.

Animation and technical errors
* It'd have been nice if the Micromasters boarding the V-Star had actually been animated, but they just stand there...

Transformers references
*God Ginrai and Overlord's forces are battling in G Nebula 89, the nebula in which the Godmasters' Transtectors were created. It is here noted that this nebula (and planet Micro) are in "Sector 2", which Ginrai departed to become head of the Galactic Defense Force for back in "The Brave Hero of the Universe - Star Saber".

Trivia
*This episode does not feature either of Victorys two stock title cards, presenting the title as white text on a black background.
* Failing to advertise toy gimmicks is nothing new for Victory, and the trend continues here, as it is never explicitly stated that Blue Bacchus and Black Shadow are Pretenders. There is an allusion to it, though, in their final scene, in which they are slashed by Greatshot and they fall out of the shot. Two streaks of energy then rise up from where they fell, off-screen, after which, two explosions are seen bursting into shot from where they fell. The streaks of energy then coalesce into the vehicle modes of their small robots. The implication, of course, is that Greatshot has just destroyed their shells, but that the interior robots have been able to escape. Additionally, their sub-group name, Crossformers, is never used in dialogue, and—you guessed it—they never appear in the series again.

* This is another episode where the English dub narration on the next episode preview is intact on the R4 DVD set.
* Both Holi and Star Saber blush at various points while talking to Clipper. At one point, Holi's entire face glows red.
* Though Governor Riker is small enough to fit inside Star Saber's cockpit, he instead rides on top (minds out of the gutter, please), probably because Star Saber's smallest component, the Brain of Courage is inside.
* Likewise, as Micro has no water, Boater is forced to get around by riding on Fire's vehicle mode.
* Do Star Saber and Greatshot really expect to be able to put out the massive fire by stamping on it?
*This episode marks the Frist and Last apperance of Blue Bacchus and Black Shadow.

:Leozack is a Decepticon Breastforce Worrior from the Victory portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Leozack (レオザック Reozakku) is the commander of the elite Decepticon Breastforce and notionally Deathsaurus's most trusted warrior...except he really can't be trusted at all. Leozack despises being anything less than the top 'bot and is constantly struggling to have it all—including leadership of the Decepticons. Unlike those that have come before, however, Leozack is smart enough to keep his ambitions hidden from his emperor, preferring to gather the resources and power necessary to fuel his dreams of conquest in secret. The thing is, Deathsaurus is fully aware of Leozack's dreams and schemes, and to say that he doesn't rate Leozack as a threat would be putting it mildly. In Deathsaurus's eyes, Leozack is an overzealous youth with ideas above his station, and while he conceals his awareness of Leozack's treachery from him, he never misses a chance to make his contempt for Leozack well-known. This drives Leozack absolutely crazy, and he often takes irrational risks trying to prove to Deathsaurus that he is a capable warrior.

As a member of the Breastforce, Leozack is partnered with a transforming breastplate which can detach and transform into his Breast Animal partner, the Lionbreast, or the handheld "Leo Cannon". Like his fellow Breastforcers, Leozack also wields an Electromagnetic Nunchaku. Leozack can combine with his fellow Breastforce warriors into Liokaiser, forming the upper torso of the super robot.

Leozack was summoned by Deathsaurus to bolster his forces in preparation for their campaign against the Earth. Leozack was put in charge of the first plan, which involved the Dinoforce attacking the Autobots' base while Leozack himself intended to confront Star Saber. The Dinoforce went about their task and drew Star Saber out, and both Leozack and Deathsaurus, watching the conflict from afar on the Thunder Arrow, were taken aback to see the Autobot leader piloting the V-Star battlecraft, which they had never seen before. Leozack was about to head out to battle Star Saber, but Deathsaurus suggested he hold back and observe this new turn of events instead. Leozack did so, and rather predictably, the Dinoforce were defeated. Sneak Attack! Dinoking

The Thunder Arrow subsequently set down on Earth, and Leozack vowed to end Star Saber's life as a gift to Deathsaurus. He attacked Star Saber when the Autobot leader was bringing his human son Jean to school, putting the whole campus in danger. Leozack grappled with Star Saber, but with his Lionbreast busy fighting Holi, his torso was left unprotected, leaving him open to a damaging slash from Star Saber's Saber Blade, which forced him to retreat. Attack! Leozack

Leozack was soon joined by his Breastforce teammates Drillhorn, Jarugar and Killbison, and together, they arranged an attack on an energy plant in the desert. The Breastforce hid themselves in the sand and watched as the Dinoforce carried out the attack, but when the Autobot Landcross arrived, they emerged to join the battle. Said battle didn't last long, as Star Saber soon arrived as well, and Leozack fled when confronted by the two giants. Unite!! Multiforce

With his next plan, Leozack began showing his true colors. Recruiting the Dinoforce to help him, Leozack had them attack the Ocean Exhibition amusement park, with the intention of turning it into a personal base for himself. He even revealed his ambition to overthrow Deathsaurus to Gōryū, and while the Dinoforce leader was not particularly impressed, he decided to go along with the stunt anyway. Unsurprisingly, the Autobots soon arrived, and Leozack was defeated by Star Saber, after which he attempted to bluff his way out of trouble by telling Deathsaurus that he had intended to turn the park into a seawater energy conversion plant. {{storylink|Move Out!

After leading an infiltration of the Neo Uranium Mines Infiltration... The Uranium Mine and helping to gather energy in the Amazon, Explosion!! The Energy Base Leozack joined the other Decepticons in stealing energy from an American subway system. The plan was Deathsaurus's own, and Leozack advocated caution, but when Deathsaurus embarrassed him into silence in front of the other Decepticons, he was left in a bad mood for the whole mission. Consequently, Leozack decided to disobey orders and blast the subway tunnels open so they could access the electrical systems more easily. This, of course, attracted the attention of the Autobots, and Leozack wound up battling Blacker in the cramped underground quarters. When Deathsaurus called retreat, Leozack was unwilling to break off the fight, but when all the other Decepticons abandoned him, he had little choice. Big City - Underground Terror

Hoping to redeem himself for past failures, Leozack summoned another of his Breastforce teammates, Hellbat, to Earth to steal information from the New Energy Resource Research and Development Laboratory in Japan. Unfortunately, Hellbat botched the job, leading to another battle with the Autobots. The Decepticons were defeated by a brainwave scrambler invented by Braver, which Leozack was able to steal as he retreated. Alas, the scrambler only worked on Decepticons, and the dressing-down that Leozack received from Deathsaurus only convinced Hellbat that he could do a better job of leading the Breastforce himself. The New Warrior - Hellbat Hellbat proceeded to go over Leozack's head with information he had about an energy shipment being transported in Nevada. Leozack was naturally furious, but Hellbat’s honeyed words convinced Leozack to carry out the attack with him so they could steal the energy for their own personal supply. Of course, the two hapless schemers wound up being once again defeated by Star Saber. Attack the Shuttle Base!! Two subsequent missions led by Leozack to steal oil from tankers likewise met with failure, Tanker Hijack Operation Rescue Jean!! as did the Breastforce's attempt to tap hydroelectric power in Canada. Mach and Tackle

Following a scheme to create an energy alloy, A Fierce Battle!! The Asteroid Leozack took the Breastforce to the planet Micro, intending to free another of their comrades, Gaihawk, from the Satellite Penitentiary on the planet's moon. Following the success of this mission, Rescue! Gaihawk Leozack sought to complete the team by summoning the final member, Deathcobra, to join them. With Deathcobra on the team, Leozack could finally boot out the untrustworthy Hellbat, and the remaining six members could merge into their combined form of Liokaiser. Learning of this, Hellbat tried to stop Deathcobra from meeting with the others and accidentally wound up killing him in the fight that ensued. He preventing Leozack from discovered this by blaming the Autobot Micromaster Holi for the deed, and so secured his place as part of Liokaiser. After defeating Star Saber in their first combined outing, Unite! Liokaiser Leozack led the team back to Earth, but still couldn't catch a break from Deathsaurus, who opted instead to heap praise on Gaihawk for his role in the battle, then on Hellbat, who had found a new target for the Decepticons in the Schaeffer Energy plant. The Breastforce combined into Liokaiser to battle Star Saber for the Schaeffer Energy, Battle Up of Wrath!! and later merged again to battle him and Landcross at the South Pole. {{storylink|Fight to the Death!!
Leozack and the Breastforce's next plan was one of their best, as they lured their Autobot rivals, the Brainmasters, into an ambush in the desert. With the heavy automotive Autobots unable to manoeuvre in the shifting sands, the Breastforce were able to damage Blacker badly and deal a serious blow to the Autobots. Crisis! Ambush in the Desert With the Autobots weakened by this loss in manpower, Deathsaurus decided it was time to increase the rate of Decepticon attacks…but this was not a good thing for Leozack, since the first thing Deathsaurus did was set his Breast Animals upon the Breastforce leader, pinning him to the floor of the throne room. Placing his sword against Leozack's face, Deathsaurus informed Leozack that he had always been aware of his second-in-command's ambition to lead the Decepticons, and he offered the would-be traitor a choice: Swear absolute loyalty to him or die. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Leozack chose the former and aided his emperor in luring Star Saber into a subterranean battle. A Deadly Battle This battle left Star Saber badly injured, and the Decepticons kept up the pressure, as Leozack and the Breastforce accompanied Deathsaurus in raiding a solar power station. Ginrai Dies!!

Leozack later led missions to steal energy from America's "Energy Road", and the Mount Asama geothermal power plant, but was stopped on both occasions by Autobot warrior Victory Leo. Fight!! Victory Leo Awaken! Victory Leo Victory Leo wasn't able to interfere with the Decepticons' next energy theft, as the threat of orbital missile bombardment held him at bay, but Leozack disliked the cowardly nature of the scheme. Even though it was Deathsaurus's own miscalculations that caused the failure of the plot, he didn't hesitate to blame Leozack. Jean - Defend the Campus!!

When Star Saber was off-planet attending a Galactic Peace Alliance conference, Leozack exploited his absence by donning a large exo-skeleton that allowed him to pose as the Autobot leader. Entering the Autobots' headquarters with the claim that he had intercepted a Decepticon message reporting that bombs had been planted in the base, he searched for the disk containing the information on Star Saber and Victory Leo's combination process while the other Autobots were hunting for the nonexistent explosives. Leozack made Victory Leo suspicious when he accidentally electrocuted himself while rummaging under a console and had to trick Holi and Jean into showing him where the disk was. Leozack nearly got away with the disk, but at the last moment, the real Star Saber returned to expose the villain's deception and send him packing. A Mystery?! The Deception of the Base Bombs

Leozack's next scheme saw him unleash the metal-eating Dorya insects upon the Autobots, but the plan went down the tubes when the heroes discovered that intense cold defeated the bugs. The Death-Bringing Space Insects!! This resulted in yet another chewing-out from Deathsaurus, who refused to hear any more of Leozack's plans and simply beat him to a pulp. Hellbat chose that moment to pop up and deliver a secret message to Deathsaurus, which pushed Leozack to the end of his patience with his sneaky subordinate and led him to deliver a beating of his own. Once again, Hellbat sweet-talked Leozack into going along with his plan: the theft of energy from the ancient continent of Atlantis. The Terror of the Giant Tidal Waves The plan succeeded, and the Breastforce and Deathsaurus headed into space aboard the Thunder Arrow in order to recharge Deathsaurus's Planet-Destroying Fortress with the stolen energy. The Autobots pursued the villains, but were unable to stop them from bringing the fortress back online. The Wrath of the Resurrected Giant Fortress! To keep the Autobots busy while the fortress's main cannon charged, Deathsaurus dispatched the Breastforce—combined as Liokaiser—to battle them. In the course of the clash, Victory Leo was able to blast Liokaiser into the fortress's cannon barrel, which drained his energy dry. With his consciousness fading and his body unable to move, Liokaiser could only utter a fading scream for help as he drifted off into the depths of space. {{storylink|Showdown! Leozack introduced himself to the Autobots when he embarked on a solo mission to Earth, believing that he could conquer the planet himself. His attack on a city did not go unnoticed by the Autobots, and when Star Saber arrived to stop him, Leozack was able to knock the Supreme Commander out of the air with his nunchaku. Unfortunately for Leozack, Star Saber's son Jean happened to be watching the battle, and noticed that Leozack was missing his breastplate—the Decepticon had accidentally forgotten to bring it with him! Star Saber immediately targeted his opponent's exposed torso with his Saber Blade and sent Leozack fleeing. Leozack Rumbles Violently!

Later, Leozack and the other Breastforcers combined into Liokaiser to battle Star Saber on Energy Planet X. When the combiner warrior managed to seize Star Saber, his individual components began arguing over who would get the right to destroy the Autobot leader; Leozack believed he should get to do it because he was the leader. Star Saber exploited the opening to turn the battle around, and Liokaiser was defeated and escaped. The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber! In their next battle with Star Saber, the Breastforce almost had him defeated thanks to the aid of Deathsaurus and Dinoking, but the tables were turned when Star Saber merged with new arrival Victory Leo to form Victory Saber. The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory!
In their next battle, Liokaiser and Deathsaurus were defeated by the Autobots' "Five Stars of Victory" attack technique, and Liokaiser split back into Leozack and the rest of the Breastforce to flee back to Deathsaurus's "Space Stronghold". Shine! The Five Stars of Victory From the stronghold, the Decepticons began a final attack on Earth, bombarding the planet with meteors, but Deathsaurus made the mistake of leaving Leozack in charge of the fortress while he battled Star Saber in space. Leozack turned the fortress's main cannon upon Deathsaurus and Star Saber, but before he could finish them off, Deathsaurus blasted the fortress with his Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon. Star Saber smashed his way into the fortress control room and slashed Leozack with his "Planetary Impulse Sword", but even as the treacherous Decepticon collapsed, he begged the Autobots not to destroy the fortress. Deathsaurus revealed that the fortress was home to the Decepticons' families, and as Leozack was cradled by his sister Lyzack, he explained that they had been fighting to keep them safe. Struck by this revelation, Star Saber decided that it was time for the Autobots and Decepticons to lay down their arms and live in peace—the truest victory of all! {{storylink|Heroic! Leozack was one of the first to volunteer for Skyquake's experimental Skyraider body refitting program. His new body was teeming with so many weapons, he lacked the hardware to implement them automatically; instead, he was forced to use verbal commands to use them individually.
Under Banzai-Tron's command, Leozack and his fellow Skyraider warriors Skyquake, Hooligan, Hellbat, and Gaihawk, followed the Autobot ship Eight Track to the planet Beta-Nine, where they hoped to beat them to a mysterious cargo that had crashed there aboard the Van De Graaff. Leozack, Skyquake, and Hooligan attacked the Autobots, separating the crew's youngest member from them. The Autobots' commander, Thunderclash, drove Leozack and the others away with a barrage of firepower, allowing his crew to escape into the trees where the Decepticons would have to fight them on the ground.

Skyquake departed after Thunder Clash and ordered Leozack and Hooligan to kill the remaining two Autobots, Landshark and Flak. Flak leapt out at them, demanding a fight, and Leozack was happy to oblige him. Unfortunately, this was a diversion, and once Flak had occupied their attention, Landshark surprised Leozack with a massive punch.

Leozack and the others were defeated and brought back to Cybertron as prisoners. The battle on Beta-Nine began the Autobot/Decepticon civil war. Wings of Honor
*According to the 2009 fanclub fiction panel, the gist of Leozack's characterization in Wings of Honor came from the authors' desire to portray him as a stereotypical anime character; at one point, Rik Alvarez even wanted him to speak entirely in Japanese (!). Though nixed for logistical reasons, the basic idea survived in the form of Leozack's dialogue being rendered in a stylized Asiatic typeface.

After the events of the Masterforce War on Earth, the Transtector formerly bonded to the human Ginrai—now having taken its human partner's name as its own, becoming known as Ginrai itself—joined with the Autobot forces in space, where he became good friends with Star Saber and his adopted human son, Jean Minakaze. Before long, Star Saber was appointed Supreme Commander of the Autobots, while Ginrai became commander of the Defense Force for Space Sector Two. The Brave Hero of the Universe - Star Saber Operating out of a base in the G Nebula, Ginrai's time was occupied battling the Decepticon forces under Overlord's control, so much so that Star Saber occasionally had to respond to emergencies in Sector Two, such as a Breastforce attack on planet Micro. Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior

Feeling guilty over taking up Star Saber's time in such a manner, Ginrai was quick to come to his aid when the newly reunited Breastforce combiner Liokaiser proved too much for Star Saber to handle, Unite! Liokaiserand also later when Star Saber was lured into a trap on Earth by Decepticon Emperor of Destruction Deathsaurus. Confronting Deathsaurus in battle, Ginrai was struck by a blast from the villain's Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon and badly damaged. A Deadly Battle

Despite the best medical efforts of Perceptor, Wheeljack, and Minerva, Ginrai's body was left useless and immobile. Due to a slip by Perceptor, however, he learned of the existence of a reconstruction process conceived by Star Saber that would allow him to become a power-up for the Autobot leader. Star Saber refused to allow him to submit to the process, revolted at the notion of using his close friend's body in such a way, but Ginrai insisted. Perceptor and Wheeljack brought his life functions to an end, and then restored him to Star Saber's specifications as Victory Leo. Ginrai Dies!!

An unfortunate side-effect of the process left Victory Leo's mind and body unbalanced; immediately after his transformation, he began to run wild in his lion mode, displaying a more wild, feral nature than God Ginrai ever had, leaving Jean dismayed at the apparent loss of the being he had considered his friend. Fight!! Victory Leo When Jean was trapped in a collapsed building as Victory Leo battled the Breastforce, however, his pleas for help reached Victory Leo, and some measure of balance returned to his mind, leading him to rescue Jean. {{storylink|Awaken!

When Deathsaurus threatened the Earth with orbital missile strikes if the Autobots interfered in the Decepticons' energy-gathering raids, Victory Leo had to be forcibly held back by the Brainmasters to prevent him from attacking their enemies and dooming the planet. Star Saber came to the rescue with a new unification circuit implanted within his body. With this new component, he and Victory Leo could combine their bodies into Victory Saber. In the form of a combined jet, Victory Saber soared into space at a faster rate than Deathsaurus had predicted, and then in their combined robot form, destroyed the satellite controlling the missiles. {{storylink|The Tide is Turned!

Despite his proven battle prowess, Victory Leo was still not entirely the being Ginrai had been, retaining a more violent, short-tempered personality which sometimes brought him into conflict with the other Autobots, who, in turn, did not trust him as much as they had Ginrai. When Breastforce member Leozack impersonated Star Saber, Victory Leo realized that something was wrong, but none of his teammates believed him. Even when Victory Leo tried to stop Leozack from taking Victory Saber's combination information, the Autobots thought he was a traitor, until the real Star Saber showed up and Leozack was exposed, gaining Victory Leo his comrades' trust. A Mystery?! The Deception of the Base Bombs

When Deathsaurus finally succeeded in reactivating his colossal, planet-destroying battle fortress, Victory Leo and Star Saber combined into Victory Saber and took to space to try and stop the deadly craft, only to be knocked out by its weapons and crash, unconscious, on its surface. The Wrath of the Resurrected Giant Fortress! Recovering as it transformed into its "Destroyer Mode," Victory Saber attacked again but was confronted by Breastforce combiner Liokaiser. At the same time, Jean arrived in his mobile mech with information that could destroy the fortress, and Victory Saber separated so that Star Saber could follow him into the fortress. Victory Leo took on Liokaiser and defeated him by hurling him into the fortress's cannon barrel. Jean then succeeded in beginning the fortress's destruction, and Deszaras, defeated by Star Saber, set the craft on a collision course with Earth. Forming Victory Saber once again, the two heroes successfully destroyed the fortress and saved the planet. Showdown! The Fortress vs the Victory Unification
When the father of Jean and Patty Minakaze, a famed mineralogist, discovered a powerful ore called gurunium, the substance was used to build a new Autobot: Victory Leo. When Mr. Minakaze and his wife were killed in a Decepticon attack, Jean went to go live with Star Saber while Patty went with Victory Leo.

Some years later, as Star Saber fell to a combined attack from Deathsaurus, Dinoking and Liokaiser, Victory Leo at last arrived with Patty as reinforcements. His gurunium body allowed him to merge with Star Saber via the "Victory Combination", allowing the pair to become Victory Saber. The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory!

To combat the threat of Victory Saber, Deathsaurus forced the slaves of planet Guard to construct a mech unit for his son called King Solon. As Victory Saber arrived to free the people of Guard, Deathsaurus combined with King Solon to form King Zaras. The two foes proved to be evenly matched, with their battle raging on for hours, until Solon was momentarily distracted by Patty. Victory Saber then bested King Zaras, destroying the King Solon mech unit. Mighty! Victory Saber

Soon afterward, Victory Saber, Laster and Braver found themselves in a losing battle against Deathsaurus and Liokaiser on Earth. Luckily, the Victories arrived (with newest member, Solon) and used their "Five Stars of Victory" attack to transfer their unique abilities into their corresponding Transformer. Patty transferred the power of her love into Victory Leo, giving him the boost Victory Saber needed to send the Decepticons packing back to their Space Stronghold. {{storylink|Shine! From the Space Stronghold, the Decepticons initiated their all-out attack on Earth. Victory Leo helped fend off the Decepticons as Star Saber took out Deathsaurus (well, really, Leozack did that) and the Breastforce. With the battle won, it was revealed that the Decepticons had been fighting for the survival of all the Decepticon civilians living within the Space Stronghold. ===Robot Heroes===

*Victory Saber / Dessaras (unreleased)

:A surprise entry in the Robot Heroes series, this super deformed figurine depicts Victory Leo combined with Star Saber as Victory Saber, packaged with an equally adorable Deathsaurus, sporting another new name variant. Originally discovered amongst Wal-Mart store computer listings in mid-2008, the ill-fated Victory Saber and Deathy failed to materialize before the Robot Heroes line was canceled.
Notes
* Victory Leo's "flight mode" as seen in the Victory cartoon (like Sixshot's "Wingwolf" mode, Overlord's "space jet" mode and BlackZarak's "Hydra" mode before it) is not part of the original toy's official instructions, as it was created by the production staff of the anime by fiddling around with it.
