:Deathsaurus is a Decepticon Breastforce Warrior and Emporer of Destruction from the Victory portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Deathsaurus began terrorizing the galaxy long before ascending to the position of Decepticon Emperor of Destruction. For thousands of years, this savage and cruel dictator has spread terror throughout the universe, and has now set his sights upon the Earth as a source of energy to power his terrifying superweapon, the Planet-Destroying Fortress. And if Star Saber should get in his way, so much the better: Deathsaurus bears the Autobot Supreme Commander a bitter grudge, and relishes any opportunity to destroy him that presents itself.

Deathsaurus is a Breastforce warrior, partnered with two transforming chestplates that become the Breast Animals Tigerbreast and Eaglebreast. He wields a deadly spiked flail, and the Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon, which erodes the living metallic cells of super-robot lifeforms. The bladed wings of his creature mode absorb sunlight, converting it into dark energy, and he can then launch these energized blades at his opponents in an attack known as his "Death Wing". Despite all of these terrifying powers, however, Deathsaurus is a surprisingly "hands off" leader, who is perfectly happy to allow his subordinates to formulate their own plans and schemes to gather energy for him—but if they should fail, he'll always be there to berate and brutalize them. Even when the plans are his own, Deathsaurus is content to watch and command from a distance, rather than dirty his own hands—but he'll rarely waste a chance to engage Star Saber on the battlefield, and if that occurs, woe betide anyone who gets in Deathsaurus's way.

Curiously, Deathsaurus permits himself one distinctive, unusual foible: although he despises most humans, he has a surprising soft spot for children.

500,000 years ago, striving to become the Decepticons' new Emperor of Destruction, Deathsaurus created a gigantic battle fortress capable of destroying planets, but an attack by the young Autobot commander Star Saber saw the fortress de-powered and trapped in a gravity cell at the heart of the region of space known as Dark Nebula. This began the enmity between Star Saber and Deathsaurus, and as both combatants rose through the ranks of their respective armies, Deathsaurus vowed to eventually liberate his fortress and use it to destroy Star Saber. Resurrection!? The Decepticon Fortress

Some years prior to 2025, after the conclusion of the Masterforce War on Earth, Deathsaurus succeeded Overlord as Decepticon leader and achieved his dream of becoming Emperor of Destruction. Under his command, the Decepticons began seeking a planet that they could call their own and invaded worlds all across the galaxy. To counteract Deathsaurus's campaign of terror, the Autobots—now with Star Saber serving as their Supreme Commander—and many other sentient races formed the Galactic Peace Alliance, and struck back at the Decepticons with their Galactic Defense Force. As time passed and this conflict continued, Deathsaurus began focusing his attacks on "Sector One" of the galaxy, containing the planet Earth, until 2025, when the severity and frequency of the attacks forced Star Saber to take command of the Defense Force unit in that area himself. The Brave Hero of the Universe - Star Saber

When Deathsaurus's Dinoforce attacked the Lunar Base on Earth's moon, Star Saber raced to aid his fellow Brainmasters in battle there, only to find his way barred by Deathsaurus. Hoping to distract Star Saber long enough for the Dinoforce to finish their job, Deathsaurus engaged his old foe in battle, but Star Saber broke off the fight as quickly as he could and headed on toward the moon with Deathsaurus hot on his heels. After Star Saber defeated the Dinoforce, Deathsaurus caught up to him and unleashed his Breast Animals upon the Autobot in both beast and weapon forms. Star Saber eventually won out, defeating both the creatures and besting Deathsaurus in a swordfight, forcing the Decepticon leader to summon up his craft, the Thunder Arrow, and flee aboard it. The Brave Hero of the Universe - Star Saber

Recognizing the Earth as a rich source of energy that he could use to power up his Planet-Destroying Fortress, Deathsaurus centered most of his subsequent attacks on the planet, summoning the Breastforce to aid in the campaign. Sneak Attack! Dinoking Attack! Leozack {{storylink|Unite!! Residing on the Thunder Arrow as it hopscotched around the planet and solar system, Deathsaurus was content to watch as his troops staged numerous attacks on Earth. {{storylink|Infiltration...

Deathsaurus finally decided to join his troops on a mission when the Decepticon began draining electrical energy from an American subway system. While the Breastforce snuck through the subway tunnels, Deathsaurus himself targeted the power distribution center, where he was confronted by Star Saber. The true cunning of Deathsaurus's scheme was revealed when he let loose his Breast Animals, and Star Saber proved no match for the creatures in the small confines of the underground complex. Unfortunately for Deathsaurus, he had overlooked the fact that with both Breast Animals deployed, his own chest was left unprotected, leaving it open to an attack from Star Saber's Saber Blade. Wounded, Deathsaurus recalled his Breast Animals and fled, but not without successfully taking the energy he had managed to steal beforehand. Big City - Underground Terror

When the Breastforce were joined by Hellbat, the newcomer also adopted designs on the Decepticon throne. The New Warrior - Hellbat Deathsaurus was even less concerned with Hellbet's ambitions than he was with Leozack's, though, since the two would-be traitors were always too busy fighting with each other to pose a serious threat to him. In their constant games of one-upmanship, Leozack and Hellbat crafted numerous failed schemes of their own, eventually forcing Deathsaurus to step in and give his minions a mission of his own devising. Deathsaurus had the Decepticons hide in the asteroid belt and capture human shuttlecraft in order to use drain their energy and use them to create an energy alloy. Star Saber soon got wise to the villains' evildoings and arrived to put a stop to them, but again, Deathsaurus successfully escaped with his amassed energy. {{storylink|A Fierce Battle!!

While the Breastforce were busy on planet Micro, Deathsaurus and the Dinoforce took the Thunder Arrow into the Dark Nebula, where Deathsaurus emptied his stockpile of energy into his inactive fortress. The giant structure briefly flared back to life, but soon shut down once more; Deathsaurus was unfazed, having only sought to confirm whether or not the fortress could even be reactivated. On the trip back to Earth, the Decepticons crossed paths with Star Saber and the Rescue Patrol Team, and Deathsaurus engaged Star Saber in battle with his Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon. Although Deathsaurus was actually able to pull the trigger on what would have been a fatal blast, he discovered that he had expended too much of his energy supply reactivating his fortress, and his weapons systems shut down before he could end Star Saber's life, necessitating his tactical withdrawal. {{storylink|Resurrection!?

Deathsaurus next clashed with Star Saber in Antarctica, only stepping onto the battlefield after the Breastforce, combined as Liokaiser, had severely weakened Star Saber. Deathsaurus took over the fight, intent on being the one to deliver the final blow, but Star Saber was able to turn the battle around, and forced Deathsaurus into retreat. Fight to the Death!! Antarctic Battle In a later battle atop the Thunder Arrow, deep in the desert, Star Saber again humbled Deathsaurus, this time with the aid of Greatshot, but the fight left both the Supreme Commander and Blacker badly wounded. Crisis! Ambush in the Desert Capitalizing on the Autobots' reduced manpower, Deathsaurus stepped up the Decepticons' attacks across the planet, and removed another annoyance by finally calling Leozack out on his treachery. Easily besting the traitorous Breastforcer in combat, Deathsaurus forced him to swear total loyalty to him, or face death. Leozack made the logical choice, and then, combined with his fellow Breastforcers as Liokaiser, joined with his leader in staging an ambush for Star Saber in a subterranean cave in Asia. Disguising himself as a Terracotta Army-esque statue, Deathsaurus was able to get the drop on Star Saber when Liokaiser lured him into the cave, and again unleashed the Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon on his enemy. Once more, Deathsaurus stood poised to kill Star Saber with the weapon, until the last-minute arrival of God Ginrai, who took the fatal shot. Liokaiser had to persuade the incensed Deathsaurus to retreat as more Autobots arrived, A Deadly Battle but the Decepticon leader soon clashed with Star Saber once more in a later battle at a solar power station. Deathsaurus emerged victorious in that fight when Star Saber was forced to flee upon receiving news of Ginrai's deteriorating condition. Ginrai Dies!! Ginrai's life was saved, however, when he was rebuilt into the powerful new warror, Victory Leo. {{storylink|Fight!!
Next, Deathsaurus began bombarding the Earth with missiles from an orbital weapons platform, as a means of staying the Autobots' hands while his forces gathered energy across the planet. Star Saber and Victory Leo were able to thwart his plan by combining into the mighty Victory Saber; Deathsaurus's missile launch system had been programmed based on Star Saber's speed, but with the added power of Victory Leo, the Autobot hero was able to outrace the missiles, destroy the launcher and defeat Deathsaurus in an outer space battle. {{storylink|The Tide is Turned!

Following an attempt to destroy the Autobots with the metal-eating Dorya insects, The Death-Bringing Space Insects!! Deathsaurus was informed by Hellbat that he had discovered the location of the sunken continent of Atlantis, which could provide the raw energy to reactivate his fortress. Deathsaurus risked all or nothing to obtain Atlantis's energy, using up the Thunder Arrow's entire energy stockpile to raise the continent, but the plan proved a success, as the Autobots were too busy dealing with the devastating tidal waves caused by the rise of Atlantis to stop him from absconding with enough energy to bring his fortress back online. The Terror of the Giant Tidal Waves Having no further use for the bumbling Dinoforce, Deathsaurus abandoned them on Earth and headed back to the Dark Nebula with the Breastforce, where he successfully re-energized his fortress and began moving it towards Earth. The Wrath of the Resurrected Giant Fortress!

Intent on learning from the failures of all past Decepticon leaders, Deathsaurus chose not to conquer Earth, but to utterly destroy the planet, eradicting from Decepticon history the humiliating stain of defeat the planet represented. As the fortress rained destruction down upon Earth with meteor bombs, even Victory Saber could not stand up to its power. Soon, however, a resentful Dinoforce supplied information on the fortress's weak spot to Star Saber's adopted human son, Jean, who then used his own personal mech to enter the fortress and strike at this vulnerability. As he did so, Deathsaurus and Star Saber engaged in a vicious final battle, during which Deathsaurus lost an eye, and was eventually stopped when Star Saber broke his sword off in the villain's chest. Gushing fuel and fluid, Deathsaurus vowed to have the last laugh as he set the crippled fortress on a collision course with Earth and blew himself out an airlock, vowing to return again and again. But, as his body drifted off into space, no sign of life was visible from the conquered emperor. Victory Saber was able to subsequently destroy the fortress before it collided with Earth, but Deathsaurus was not heard from again. {{storylink|Showdown! Deathsaurus and Star Saber's rivalry began 500,000 years ago when they were both children, and according to Star Saber, "argued all the time". The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber! In his "adult" years, Deathsaurus took Esmeral as his wife, and in order to keep both her and the families of his fellow Decepticons safe aboard his "Space Stronghold", Deathsaurus began attacking Earth, in order to obtain the planet's energy and use it to keep the stronghold fully powered-up. Heroic! The Victory War

During one of his early attacks on Earth, Deathsaurus took pity on an infant human named Solon Kitakaze, whose parents had died in the assault. Deathsaurus "adopted" Solon and turned him into a cyborg, raising him as his own son, just as Star Saber did with the human child Jean Minakaze. As Star Saber and Deathsaurus had been rivals in their youth, so too would Solon and Jean become rivals when, in 2025, Deathsaurus's campaign against Earth intensified.

Deathsaurus and Star Saber's first major battle in this campaign was a brief one, with Deathsaurus being felled by a single swipe of Star Saber's Saber Blade, Magnificent! Our Friend, Star Saber! but the Emperor of Destruction had a better showing in their next clash, during which he absorbed enough energy from a forest fire to best Star Saber, Road Caesar and Landcross all together. Deathsaurus's unusual compassion for children proved to be his downfall in this battle when he was distracted by the sight of Solon, gripping Jean in a hold that threatened the boy's life. While Deathsaurus's attention was occupied with striking Solon as punishment, Star Saber blindsided and defeated him with a Super Saber Meteor Spin. Great Turn-Around! Star Saber

Deathsaurus later sent Solon to study in school on Earth, in order to learn more about humans, thereby making it easier to conquer them. Leozack Rumbles Violently! While Solon was on Earth, he and Jean were approached by former Autobot human allies Shūta Gō and Cab, Warrior of Love, Star Saber! and with Jean, they formed the "Autobot Boy Team" known as the Victories. Seeking to counter this group with a team of his own, Deathsaurus had Yokuryū capture Jean and bring him to the Thunder Arrow, where he attempted to bribe the boy into joining the Decepticons' group with toys, Famicom, candy and cash. When an enraged Star Saber soon came tearing into the Thunder Arrow, Deathsaurus crossed swords with the Autobot leader, but was then distracted by Jean distracting who exploited the Decepticon's bizarre fear of caterpillars by dangling one in his face. The cowering Deathsaurus was promptly bested in dramatically explosive fashion by Star Saber's "Planetary Impulse Sword" technique, and realised with hindsight that Solon was the only kid he needed. Watch Out, Jean! Hurry, Star Saber! Deathsaurus was apparently left so badly injured by this clash that he couldn't participate in the next battle, given that he was only seen lying in bed, coughing, with Solon resting a giant ice-pack on his head. The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber!

Rested and healthy again, Deathsaururs joined with Dinoking and Liokaiser in going up against Star Saber together, and perhaps not entirely surprisingly, the badly outnumbered Autobot was defeated by the three Decepticons. Before they could deliver the killing stroke, however, Star Saber was saved by the sudden arrival of Victory Leo, with whom he combined to form Victory Saber. The merged pair defeated the trio of Decepticons in one blast of their "Flash Victory" attack. The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory! Deathsaurus immediately sought out away to combat Star Saber's new power, and developed a Transformer-sized mech for Solon named "King Solon," with which he could combine to form "King Zaras". In this new form, Deathsaurus battled Victory Saber on the planet Guard, with neither combatant getting the upper hand in other three hours of fighting. When Patty Minakaze's mentioned the word "mother", however, something of Solon's past was stirred in the boy's mind, and he was distracted long enough for Victory Saber to destroy the King Solon mech components with his Victory. The burning Solon tumbled to the ground, where Patty tended his wounds despite his protestations. Perhaps wary of Solon's confused emotional state, Deathsaurus reminded him that while he was a human child, he was a Decepticon's son by fate. {{storylink|Mighty!
As it turned out, Deathsaurus was right to be wary—in the midst of a later battle with Star Saber and Road Caesar, Solon turned against Deathsaurus and sided with the Victories, opening fire on his "father" and declaring that he would fight to protect the Earth, instead of destroy it. Now with Solon on their side, the Victories were able to channel their power into the Autobots, and the Decepticons were sent fleeing by the "Five Stars of Victory" attack. {{storylink|Shine! Deathsaurus left the Breastforce to man the fortress while he engaged Star Saber in a final battle in the void of space, but had not reckoned with the treachery of Leozack, who fired on his emperor with the fortress's main cannon. To save himself, Deathsaurus was forced to return fire on the fortress, and Star Saber followed suite, smashing into the fortress's control chamber and taking Leozack down. As Leozack begged the Autobots not to destroy the fortress, the wounded Deathsaurus arrived and revealed to the Autobots the presence of the Decepticons' families aboard the vessel. Realizing that the Decepticons' had only done what they had in the name of their families' safety, Star Saber decided that it was time for the two leaders to follow the example set by their sons and lay down their arms.
Years later, towards the end of the Great War, the Predacon Cryotek worked under Deathsaurus as a supply manager. When the final defeat of the Decepticons at last came, Cryotek led his fellow Predacon workers in a rebellion against Deathsaurus, and used the materials he stole from his depot to begin his own criminal empire.

:Deszaras comes packaged with his Breast Animal partners, Tigerbreast and Eaglebreast, which transform from creatures into hand-held weapons for Deszaras, and a pair of breastplates which lock into a spring-loaded socket on the toy's body to form elaborate torso armor for the Deszaras's robot mode. Eaglebreast is inserted first, then Tigerbreast fits on top, concealing it; the figures can also be attached while Deszaras is in beast mode, which leaves them on his creature-mode's back. Deszaras comes with armament in addition to his Breast Animals, including a light blue laser rifle—which, despite what the boxart and cartoon would have you believe, does not have a removable flail—that can be wielded by both an ordinary handle, and a second peg on its butt that allows it to be brandished like a staff or blade of some kind, and his "Death Tailer" shield, which mounts on either of his biceps, and transforms into his beast mode tail.
He comes with a pair of swords that can launch their blade-missiles through a pressure-launch mechanism, as well as combine at their bottom ends to form a large double-blade weapon. The blade-missiles are rounded off for safety reasons like the other Hasbro uses of the mold.
: His head is a new sculpt based on Deathsaurus's appearance in the Victory anime (though Deathsaurus's face seems to be copied from Megatron's). Deathsaurus's mold was originally a ten-changer, though the "gargoyle"/bat mode was neutered for this release due to the dropping of the bat snout piece, required to give his new head enough space inside his chest cavity for other modes. He still retains the other nine modes (robot, dragster, jet, two-headed dragon, hand, mammoth, hydrofoil, one-headed dragon, and winged griffin). His tail-piece was removed for in-box storage, but easily popped back on since it's on a ball-and-socket joint.
A surprise entry in the Robot Heroes series, this super deformed figurine of Deathsaurus also sports a name variant that hearkens back to his original Japanese moniker, only missing the spelling by one letter. Originally discovered amongst Wal-Mart store computer listings in mid-2008, he would have come packaged with an equally-adorable Victory Saber, but alas, the two-pack failed to materialize before the Robot Heroes line was canceled.
canceledtoy

Notes
* Deathsaurus's name is the source of a long-lasting argument. The phonetic Japanese reading of the name is: "De-su-za-ra-su". This is represented in English on his toy packaging and tech specs as "Deszaras." English-speaking fans would long debate the "proper" romanization of the name, interpreting it as Deszaras, Deathzaras, Deathsaurus, Death Czarus, Def Zarce, Deaths 'R' Us, Debt Source, Darth Sass, Death's Arse and god knows what else. "Deathsaurus" had a tendency to be the most popular and well-known (on account of it actually meaning something), which led to it being used on the character's first official Western toy, making it his official American name. However, it is unlikely that this was supposed to be the actual name for the character—were his name intended to be read as "saurus", then it would be rendered as "sa-u-ru-su" or "za-u-ru-su" in Japanese (as had already been done with Dinosaurer and Saur), rather than "za-ra-su". As such, it appears that his name was genuinely intended to be the nonsense word, "Deszaras" (which resembles the pattern for naming of Kaiju monsters, discussed below) and the character appears with this name on the Metrodome and Madman Entertainment DVD boxsets of the Victory cartoon. Hasbro appeared to be trying to steer things back in that direction with the cancelled Robot Heroes figure, named "Dessaras". Only one letter out, there, guys!

* While often called a dragon or occasionally a griffin, and hilariously, a "bigbird" on his original Japanese bio card, Deathsaurus is most likely styled after traditional Japanese "kaiju", such as Godzilla or Rodan. Hence, the Kaiju-esque name, "Deszaras".

* The original Deathsaurus mold was redecoed into the non-living "Red Geist" mech for Takara's Brave of Legend Da Garn toyline, which lacked the Eaglebreast partner. Although the character design in the television show for the line was significantly modified from that of Deathsaurus (see image at right), including replacing Tigerbreast's tiger mode with a jet mode, the Red Geist toy itself was not retooled.

Gaihawk (ガイホーク Gaihōku) is one of the founding members of Deathsaurus's Breastforce. Cold and somber, Gaihawk hates those who claim to have "character" and perfect principles, and as such, he really loathes Autobots of all shapes and sizes. In particular, Greatshot really ruffles his feathers; Gaihawk used to work with him on the mercenary circuit, and for him to see his old partner in crime turn to the side of the angels is nothing short of sickening. Gaihawk doesn't practise what he preaches, though; despite his hatred of the pretence of perfection in others, he always tries to make himself come off as perfect. He boasts about his skills, he's always the first into battle and the last to leave, he hates it when he is defeated, and he will always pass the buck if he gets blamed for something.

In jet mode, Gaihawk's speed exceeds even that of his commanding officer, Leozack. He is capable of unleashing a hellish storm of laser fire from above, rendering even the toughest of enemies to piles of smoldering ash. In robot mode he wields the power of the "Ice Needle", an attack which allows him to fire an onslaught of daggers forged from super-cooled plasma from his hands, capable of tearing through even the toughest of metals. His chest plate, Hawkbreast, can detach and transform into a hawk-like attack partner or the handheld "Hawk Cannon" blaster. Like his fellow Breastforcers, Gaihawk is also armed with an electromagnetic nunchaku.

Gaihawk can combine with his Breastforce teammates to form Liokaiser, forming the right arm of the super robot.

Some time before Star Saber assumed command of the Autobot forces, the Autobot hero apprehended Gaihawk and had him sentenced to imprisonment on the Satellite Penitentiary on the moon of planet Micro. Separated from his Hawkbreast, Gaihawk was put to work with other prisoners, gathering energy from the moon's rivers of magma. Gaihawk made no friends or alliances within the ranks of prisoners, caring nothing for any of them; once, when one hapless convict fell into a lava river and was able to grab onto Gaihawk's leg as he was swept past him, Gaihawk ignored his pleas to be pulled to safety, and kicked him off, sending him spiraling off to his molten doom.

In 2025, Gaihawk's old Breastforce comrades came to planet Micro with the intention of liberating him, so that they could once again merge into the giant robot, Liokaiser, and defeat Star Saber. When the Breastforce attacked the penitentiary, the prison staff, realizing their objective, attempted to transfer Gaihawk to a safer location. Unfortunately for the guards transferring him, the sneaky Decepticon had concealed a blade, and slashed his way through their ranks to freedom. Making his way through the prison corridors, he soon came upon fellow Breastforcer Hellbat, who was in the process of searching for him. Hellbat cheerfully greeted him, but Gaihawk threw him aside and demanded he take him to the prison's energy room. Using the stockpiled energy, Gaihawk recharged himself to full power and freed his Hawkbreast from the cage in which it had been kept. Seconds later, Gaihawk was confronted by Greatshot, who had been ordered into the prison by Star Saber, but Gaihawk was unaware that his old friend had joined the Autobots, and reacted with disgust when Hellbat informed him of this fact. Old friend or not, Gaihawk had no compunctions about engaged in a firefight with Greatshot, which culminated in a face-off on the walkway above the prison's magma vat. Impaling Greatshot with his Ice Needle attack. Gaihawk sent his foe tumbling towards the lava, but could not stick around to see the job finished as the prison began exploding around them. Rescue! Gaihawk

Leozack soon called a meeting to formally welcome Gaihawk back into the ranks of the Breastforce, during which Gaihawk was warmly received by all the assembled members. When a surprised Gaihawk asked why Hellbat was absent, Leozack explained that he was completely untrustworthy, and that he had already arranged to replace Hellbat with another old comrade, Deathcobra. Soon, however, Hellbat arrived with the news that the Autobots had killed Deathcobra. In actuality, Hellbat had accidentally killed Deathcobra himself when he had attempted to persuade him to leave so that he could keep his place on the team, but he blamed the death on the Autobot Holi, and led the other unaware Breastforcers in a "retaliatory" attack. During the fight, Gaihawk got the chance to deliver the killing shot to Holi, but his Hawkbreast was suddenly blasted from his hand by the dramatic arrival of Star Saber. Relishing the chance for revenge against the Autobot who had imprisoned him, Gaihawk combined with the rest of the Breastforce combined into Liokaiser for the first time in years, and together, they were actually able to defeat Star Saber in combat. {{storylink|Unite!

Gaihawk joined the Breastforce in numerous subsequently missions, raiding energy from America's Schaeffer Energy plant Battle Up of Wrath!! and Antarctica's subterranean oil wells, {{storylink|Fight to the Death!! During the latter mission, Gaihawk distinguished himself by using the power of his Ice Needle to damage the combiner Road Caesar so badly that he was forced to disengage, but he lost his composure when Greatshot appeared on the scene, and he immediately took to the air in pursuit of revenge against his traitorous old friend. The arrival of Star Saber forced the villains to retreat, much to Gaihawk's chagrin. Crisis! Ambush in the Desert

Eager to hunt Greatshot down, Gaihawk assembled the Breastforce to aid him in the search, and clashed with Leozack, who was furious that his subordinate has superseded his authority for so trivial a goal. Fortunately, before the two could come to blows, Deathsaurus gave the Breastforce a new mission: join him in ambushing Star Saber in Asia. A Deadly Battle While Star Saber survived the ambush, God Ginrai was fatally wounded, and the Decepticons capitalized upon the Autobots' reduced manpower by increasing the frequency of their attacks.
When Deathsaurus used the threat of orbital missile bombardment to keep the Autobots at bay, Gaihawk, Jarugar and Killbison were able to freely steal energy, pausing only in their evil deeds to mock the helpless Autobots who were watching. Deathsaurus's plan was foiled when Star Saber fused for the first time with Victory Leo into Victory Saber and bested him in combat. {{storylink|The Tide is Turned! :Leozack is a Decepticon Breastforce Warrior from the Victory portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Leozack (レオザック Reozakku) is the commander of the elite Decepticon Breastforce and notionally Deathsaurus's most trusted warrior...except he really can't be trusted at all. Leozack despises being anything less than the top 'bot and is constantly struggling to have it all—including leadership of the Decepticons. Unlike those that have come before, however, Leozack is smart enough to keep his ambitions hidden from his emperor, preferring to gather the resources and power necessary to fuel his dreams of conquest in secret. The thing is, Deathsaurus is fully aware of Leozack's dreams and schemes, and to say that he doesn't rate Leozack as a threat would be putting it mildly. In Deathsaurus's eyes, Leozack is an overzealous youth with ideas above his station, and while he conceals his awareness of Leozack's treachery from him, he never misses a chance to make his contempt for Leozack well-known. This drives Leozack absolutely crazy, and he often takes irrational risks trying to prove to Deathsaurus that he is a capable warrior.

As a member of the Breastforce, Leozack is partnered with a transforming breastplate which can detach and transform into his Breast Animal partner, the Lionbreast, or the handheld "Leo Cannon". Like his fellow Breastforcers, Leozack also wields an Electromagnetic Nunchaku. Leozack can combine with his fellow Breastforce warriors into Liokaiser, forming the upper torso of the super robot.
Leozack was summoned by Deathsaurus to bolster his forces in preparation for their campaign against the Earth. Leozack was put in charge of the first plan, which involved the Dinoforce attacking the Autobots' base while Leozack himself intended to confront Star Saber. The Dinoforce went about their task and drew Star Saber out, and both Leozack and Deathsaurus, watching the conflict from afar on the Thunder Arrow, were taken aback to see the Autobot leader piloting the V-Star battlecraft, which they had never seen before. Leozack was about to head out to battle Star Saber, but Deathsaurus suggested he hold back and observe this new turn of events instead. Leozack did so, and rather predictably, the Dinoforce were defeated. Sneak Attack! Dinoking

The Thunder Arrow subsequently set down on Earth, and Leozack vowed to end Star Saber's life as a gift to Deathsaurus. He attacked Star Saber when the Autobot leader was bringing his human son Jean to school, putting the whole campus in danger. Leozack grappled with Star Saber, but with his Lionbreast busy fighting Holi, his torso was left unprotected, leaving him open to a damaging slash from Star Saber's Saber Blade, which forced him to retreat. Attack! Leozack

Leozack was soon joined by his Breastforce teammates Drillhorn, Jarugar and Killbison, and together, they arranged an attack on an energy plant in the desert. The Breastforce hid themselves in the sand and watched as the Dinoforce carried out the attack, but when the Autobot Landcross arrived, they emerged to join the battle. Said battle didn't last long, as Star Saber soon arrived as well, and Leozack fled when confronted by the two giants. Unite!! Multiforce

With his next plan, Leozack began showing his true colors. Recruiting the Dinoforce to help him, Leozack had them attack the Ocean Exhibition amusement park, with the intention of turning it into a personal base for himself. He even revealed his ambition to overthrow Deathsaurus to Gōryū, and while the Dinoforce leader was not particularly impressed, he decided to go along with the stunt anyway. Unsurprisingly, the Autobots soon arrived, and Leozack was defeated by Star Saber, after which he attempted to bluff his way out of trouble by telling Deathsaurus that he had intended to turn the park into a seawater energy conversion plant. {{storylink|Move Out!

After leading an infiltration of the Neo Uranium Mines Infiltration... The Uranium Mine and helping to gather energy in the Amazon, Explosion!! The Energy Base Leozack joined the other Decepticons in stealing energy from an American subway system. The plan was Deathsaurus's own, and Leozack advocated caution, but when Deathsaurus embarrassed him into silence in front of the other Decepticons, he was left in a bad mood for the whole mission. Consequently, Leozack decided to disobey orders and blast the subway tunnels open so they could access the electrical systems more easily. This, of course, attracted the attention of the Autobots, and Leozack wound up battling Blacker in the cramped underground quarters. When Deathsaurus called retreat, Leozack was unwilling to break off the fight, but when all the other Decepticons abandoned him, he had little choice. Big City - Underground Terror

Hoping to redeem himself for past failures, Leozack summoned another of his Breastforce teammates, Hellbat, to Earth to steal information from the New Energy Resource Research and Development Laboratory in Japan. Unfortunately, Hellbat botched the job, leading to another battle with the Autobots. The Decepticons were defeated by a brainwave scrambler invented by Braver, which Leozack was able to steal as he retreated. Alas, the scrambler only worked on Decepticons, and the dressing-down that Leozack received from Deathsaurus only convinced Hellbat that he could do a better job of leading the Breastforce himself. The New Warrior - Hellbat Hellbat proceeded to go over Leozack's head with information he had about an energy shipment being transported in Nevada. Leozack was naturally furious, but Hellbat’s honeyed words convinced Leozack to carry out the attack with him so they could steal the energy for their own personal supply. Of course, the two hapless schemers wound up being once again defeated by Star Saber. Attack the Shuttle Base!! Two subsequent missions led by Leozack to steal oil from tankers likewise met with failure, Tanker Hijack Operation Rescue Jean!! as did the Breastforce's attempt to tap hydroelectric power in Canada. Mach and Tackle

Following a scheme to create an energy alloy, A Fierce Battle!! The Asteroid Leozack took the Breastforce to the planet Micro, intending to free another of their comrades, Gaihawk, from the Satellite Penitentiary on the planet's moon. Following the success of this mission, Rescue! Gaihawk Leozack sought to complete the team by summoning the final member, Deathcobra, to join them. With Deathcobra on the team, Leozack could finally boot out the untrustworthy Hellbat, and the remaining six members could merge into their combined form of Liokaiser. Learning of this, Hellbat tried to stop Deathcobra from meeting with the others and accidentally wound up killing him in the fight that ensued. He preventing Leozack from discovered this by blaming the Autobot Micromaster Holi for the deed, and so secured his place as part of Liokaiser. After defeating Star Saber in their first combined outing, Unite! Liokaiser Leozack led the team back to Earth, but still couldn't catch a break from Deathsaurus, who opted instead to heap praise on Gaihawk for his role in the battle, then on Hellbat, who had found a new target for the Decepticons in the Schaeffer Energy plant. The Breastforce combined into Liokaiser to battle Star Saber for the Schaeffer Energy, Battle Up of Wrath!! and later merged again to battle him and Landcross at the South Pole. {{storylink|Fight to the Death!!
Leozack and the Breastforce's next plan was one of their best, as they lured their Autobot rivals, the Brainmasters, into an ambush in the desert. With the heavy automotive Autobots unable to manoeuvre in the shifting sands, the Breastforce were able to damage Blacker badly and deal a serious blow to the Autobots. Crisis! Ambush in the Desert With the Autobots weakened by this loss in manpower, Deathsaurus decided it was time to increase the rate of Decepticon attacks…but this was not a good thing for Leozack, since the first thing Deathsaurus did was set his Breast Animals upon the Breastforce leader, pinning him to the floor of the throne room. Placing his sword against Leozack's face, Deathsaurus informed Leozack that he had always been aware of his second-in-command's ambition to lead the Decepticons, and he offered the would-be traitor a choice: Swear absolute loyalty to him or die. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Leozack chose the former and aided his emperor in luring Star Saber into a subterranean battle. A Deadly Battle This battle left Star Saber badly injured, and the Decepticons kept up the pressure, as Leozack and the Breastforce accompanied Deathsaurus in raiding a solar power station. Ginrai Dies!!

Leozack later led missions to steal energy from America's "Energy Road", and the Mount Asama geothermal power plant, but was stopped on both occasions by Autobot warrior Victory Leo. Fight!! Victory Leo Awaken! Victory Leo Victory Leo wasn't able to interfere with the Decepticons' next energy theft, as the threat of orbital missile bombardment held him at bay, but Leozack disliked the cowardly nature of the scheme. Even though it was Deathsaurus's own miscalculations that caused the failure of the plot, he didn't hesitate to blame Leozack. Jean - Defend the Campus!!

When Star Saber was off-planet attending a Galactic Peace Alliance conference, Leozack exploited his absence by donning a large exo-skeleton that allowed him to pose as the Autobot leader. Entering the Autobots' headquarters with the claim that he had intercepted a Decepticon message reporting that bombs had been planted in the base, he searched for the disk containing the information on Star Saber and Victory Leo's combination process while the other Autobots were hunting for the nonexistent explosives. Leozack made Victory Leo suspicious when he accidentally electrocuted himself while rummaging under a console and had to trick Holi and Jean into showing him where the disk was. Leozack nearly got away with the disk, but at the last moment, the real Star Saber returned to expose the villain's deception and send him packing. A Mystery?! The Deception of the Base Bombs

Leozack's next scheme saw him unleash the metal-eating Dorya insects upon the Autobots, but the plan went down the tubes when the heroes discovered that intense cold defeated the bugs. The Death-Bringing Space Insects!! This resulted in yet another chewing-out from Deathsaurus, who refused to hear any more of Leozack's plans and simply beat him to a pulp. Hellbat chose that moment to pop up and deliver a secret message to Deathsaurus, which pushed Leozack to the end of his patience with his sneaky subordinate and led him to deliver a beating of his own. Once again, Hellbat sweet-talked Leozack into going along with his plan: the theft of energy from the ancient continent of Atlantis. The Terror of the Giant Tidal Waves The plan succeeded, and the Breastforce and Deathsaurus headed into space aboard the Thunder Arrow in order to recharge Deathsaurus's Planet-Destroying Fortress with the stolen energy. The Autobots pursued the villains, but were unable to stop them from bringing the fortress back online. The Wrath of the Resurrected Giant Fortress! To keep the Autobots busy while the fortress's main cannon charged, Deathsaurus dispatched the Breastforce—combined as Liokaiser—to battle them. In the course of the clash, Victory Leo was able to blast Liokaiser into the fortress's cannon barrel, which drained his energy dry. With his consciousness fading and his body unable to move, Liokaiser could only utter a fading scream for help as he drifted off into the depths of space. {{storylink|Showdown! Leozack introduced himself to the Autobots when he embarked on a solo mission to Earth, believing that he could conquer the planet himself. His attack on a city did not go unnoticed by the Autobots, and when Star Saber arrived to stop him, Leozack was able to knock the Supreme Commander out of the air with his nunchaku. Unfortunately for Leozack, Star Saber's son Jean happened to be watching the battle, and noticed that Leozack was missing his breastplate—the Decepticon had accidentally forgotten to bring it with him! Star Saber immediately targeted his opponent's exposed torso with his Saber Blade and sent Leozack fleeing. Leozack Rumbles Violently!

Later, Leozack and the other Breastforcers combined into Liokaiser to battle Star Saber on Energy Planet X. When the combiner warrior managed to seize Star Saber, his individual components began arguing over who would get the right to destroy the Autobot leader; Leozack believed he should get to do it because he was the leader. Star Saber exploited the opening to turn the battle around, and Liokaiser was defeated and escaped. The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber! In their next battle with Star Saber, the Breastforce almost had him defeated thanks to the aid of Deathsaurus and Dinoking, but the tables were turned when Star Saber merged with new arrival Victory Leo to form Victory Saber. The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory!

In their next battle, Liokaiser and Deathsaurus were defeated by the Autobots' "Five Stars of Victory" attack technique, and Liokaiser split back into Leozack and the rest of the Breastforce to flee back to Deathsaurus's "Space Stronghold". Shine! The Five Stars of Victory From the stronghold, the Decepticons began a final attack on Earth, bombarding the planet with meteors, but Deathsaurus made the mistake of leaving Leozack in charge of the fortress while he battled Star Saber in space. Leozack turned the fortress's main cannon upon Deathsaurus and Star Saber, but before he could finish them off, Deathsaurus blasted the fortress with his Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon. Star Saber smashed his way into the fortress control room and slashed Leozack with his "Planetary Impulse Sword", but even as the treacherous Decepticon collapsed, he begged the Autobots not to destroy the fortress. Deathsaurus revealed that the fortress was home to the Decepticons' families, and as Leozack was cradled by his sister Lyzack, he explained that they had been fighting to keep them safe. Struck by this revelation, Star Saber decided that it was time for the Autobots and Decepticons to lay down their arms and live in peace—the truest victory of all! {{storylink|Heroic! Leozack was one of the first to volunteer for Skyquake's experimental Skyraider body refitting program. The Autobots' commander, Thunderclash, drove Leozack and the others away with a barrage of firepower, allowing his crew to escape into the trees where the Decepticons would have to fight them on the ground.

Skyquake departed after Thunder Clash and ordered Leozack and Hooligan to kill the remaining two Autobots, Landshark and Flak. Flak leapt out at them, demanding a fight, and Leozack was happy to oblige him. Unfortunately, this was a diversion, and once Flak had occupied their attention, Landshark surprised Leozack with a massive punch.
*According to the 2009 fanclub fiction panel, the gist of Leozack's characterization in Wings of Honor came from the authors' desire to portray him as a stereotypical anime character; at one point, Rik Alvarez even wanted him to speak entirely in Japanese (!). Though nixed for logistical reasons, the basic idea survived in the form of Leozack's dialogue being rendered in a stylized Asiatic typeface.
As a member of the elite Breastforce team, he thinks that he would be much better suited to lead the unit than his commanding officer, Leozack, and he goes to any lengths that he can to prove it to Deathsaurus. Hellbat is a highly accomplished spy, regularly obtaining information that none of his fellow Decepticons are able to, and formulating any number of plans and schemes in his never-ending quest to climb the greasy ladder. He is also a sneak of the highest order, constantly talking behind his teammates' backs and spreading rumors, but he's not sneaky enough to prevent his fellow Decepticons from knowing what he gets up to. It is perhaps not surprising, then, to learn that nobody likes Hellbat, and that they trust him even less than that. In fact, his teammates would all be quite happy to kick him out of the Breastforce, if not for his strangely skilled silver tongue. Hellbat is usually able to talk just about anyone around to his way of thinking just long enough. He would genuinely go to any length to keep his position in the Breastforce ranks, although he'll usually come off as just plain pathetic in the process.

In robot mode, Hellbat has one of the most useful special attacks among all the other Decepticons: with a chant of "Hypnotism, Sleep, Hibernation! Hellbat!", he can project mesmerizing waves of sonic energy that weaken his opponents, leaving them open to his influence-or his teammates' attacks. His breastplate, Kōmoribreast, can detach and transform into either a bat-like robot mode (equipped with an energy-draining whip in its mouth), or the hand-held "Kōmori Cannon" blaster. Like his fellow Breastforce warriors, Hellbat is also armed with an electromagnetic nunchaku.

So it's a pity, then, that he's kind of a schmuck.

Hellbat can merge with his Breastforce teammates into Liokaiser, forming the left arm of the super robot.
Hellbat was summoned by Leozack to join the Breastforce on Earth after they had already waged several battles against Star Saber's Autobots. For his first mission, Hellbat snuck into the New Energy Resource Research and Development Laboratory in Japan, where he deployed his Kōmoribreast to download information from the lab's computers. Discovered by one of the scientist, Hellbat knocked out the Autobot and human troops that attacked him and fled. He soon met back up with the rest of the Breastforce, and was chastised for being unable to keep his actions a secret by Leozack, who then decided to simply steal the entire contents of the lab. In the battle that ensued, Hellbat faced off against Blacker, but the brawny Autobot overcame the Decepticon's hypnotic waves by stabbing himself in his own leg. The Decepticons were ultimately repelled by a brainwave-scrambler invented by Braver, and when Leozack was chewed out by Deathsaurus for the team's failure, Hellbat silently observed the whole affair, deciding that he would be a much better leader than Leozack was. The New Warrior - Hellbat

Hellbat immediately set about currying Deathsaurus's favour, gathering information on an energy shipment leaving from a spaceport in Nevada. Leozack was enraged when Hellbat went over his head with the information and took it directly to Deathsaurus, but Hellbat won him around by appealing to his own desire to see Deathsaurus dethroned, explaining that they could take the energy for themselves. To their credit, they were able to abscond with the energy, but when Star Saber appeared to chase them down, Hellbat was shot out of the sky and decided to let Leozack fend for himself while Hellbat made plans to blame the whole debacle on his commander. Attack the Shuttle Base!!

After joining in on the Breastforce's attempt to ransom Marine City with a neutron bomb, Tanker Hijack Operation Hellbat put another scheme of his own to work. While the Breastforce kept most of the Autobots busy in a battle over a fleet of oil tankers, Hellbat invaded the under-staffed Shuttle Base and tried to steal information from its computers. When he tripped an alarm, Hellbat simply snatched a random computer disk and tried to flee, but when his way was barred by Galaxy Shuttle, he kidnapped Jean Minakaze and Holi to ensure his safe getaway. The Autobots soon tracked him down to the temporary base he and the Dinoforce were using and rescued Holi and Jean, but Hellbat passed the buck, blaming Leozack and Gōryū for the bungled mission. Hellbat still had the computer disk to give to Deathsaurus, but unfortunately for him, it turned out that all he had stolen was Jean's homework. Rescue Jean!!

When Autobots Mach and Tackle discovered a Breastforce scheme to tap hydroelectric power in Canada, Hellbat didn't fare very well in the ensuing chase, and wound up being lured into the nearby forest and entangled in a cluster of trees. Mach and Tackle Soon after, Hellbat participated in the Decepticons' plan to captured spacecraft in the asteroid belt. A Fierce Battle!! The Asteroid

A little later, the Breastforce departed Earth for planet Micro, intending to spring the sixth member of their team, Gaihawk, from the Satellite Penitentiary on the planet's moon, so that they could combine to form the giant robot, Liokaiser. Before that mission got underway, however, the enterprising Hellbat decided to launch a series of raids on several of Micro's major energy-gathering facilities. Hiring the mercenaries Black Shadow and Blue Bacchus to aid him, Hellbat soon found he had to triple their cut to keep them on the job when Star Saber turned up to stop them. Rather than risk fighting Star Saber, Hellbat decided to cut his losses and blow up the plasma energy plant they were stealing from, but a parting shot from Greatshot destroyed what little energy he had already been able to steal, leaving him unable to pay the furious mercenaries. Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior Upon returning to the Thunder Arrow after this mission, Hellbat was met with threats of violence by the rest of the Breastforce, who were not impressed with his sneaking around behind their backs. Hellbat calmed his teammates by claiming that the energy he had tried to steal would have been intended for the whole team's personal use. The argument settled, the team set about their original goal, and attacked the Satellite Penitentiary to free Gaihawk. While the rest of the team held off Star Saber and his Autobots, Hellbat ventured into the prison to locate Gaihawk, only to have the object of his search be the one to find him, right when he was in the middle of ruminating on what effect the addition of Gaihawk to the Breastforce would have on his standing. Over-compensating to cover up his scheming, Hellbat met Gaihawk with hugs and kisses, and helped him recharge his energy from the prison's main supply. A battle between Gaihawk and Greatshot subsequently erupted, which sent the prison up in flames, forcing Hellbat to transform to jet mode and join Leozack in carrying their non-flying comrades to safety. Rescue! Gaihawk

When Leozack did not invite Hellbat to the meeting to welcome Gaihawk back to the fold, he panicked, listened in on the conversation, and was horrified to discover that they were planning to kick him out of the team and replace him with an old comrade of Leozack's named Deathcobra, who was already on his way to the planet. Hellbat intercepted Deathcobra before he reached the Thunder Arrow, and petitioned him to simply leave, so that he could remain on the team. Deathcobra, however, was disgusted by Hellbat's cowardly request and swatted him out of the way, forcing Hellbat to draw his gun on him. Deathcobra dared Hellbat to pull the trigger, and to Hellbat's own surprise, he actually did, prompting a firefight between the two. Even as Hellbat squealed that it was an accident, he managed to unintentionally land a fatal shot on Deathcobra, killing him outright. Spotting the Autobot Micromaster Holi watching from a nearby ridge, Hellbat sped back to the Thunder Arrow and blamed Deathcobra's untimely end on him, then led the rest of the Breastforce in a "retaliatory" attack. In the battle that followed, Hellbat and the Breastforce combined into Liokaiser for the first time and actually defeated Star Saber. Unite! Liokaiser

Not long after the Breastforce returned to Earth, Hellbat discovered the existence of the Schaeffer Energy plant in America, and the Breastforce led the charge in raiding it. Battle Up of Wrath!! After this, Hellbat let his own schemes and plans take a back seat for a while, and was content to simply participate in a series of missions without any of his typical backstabbing: drilling oil in Antarctica; Fight to the Death!! Antarctic Battle ambushing the Brainmasters in the desert; Crisis! Ambush in the Desert aiding Deathsaurus in laying a trap for Star Saber; A Deadly Battle and raiding energy from a solar power plant. Ginrai Dies!!

After this temporary bout of restraint, Hellbat started looking out for number one again when he had his Kōmoribreast sneak into the Shuttle Base on an information gathering mission, which led him to learn of the apparent death of God Ginrai. He took this report to Deathsaurus, and also informed his emperor of another discovery he had made: the existence of a large energy stockpile in America. He, Leozack and the Dinoforce proceeded to attack a tractor trailer delivering a load of energy to this stockpile, but were easily defeated by the reborn Ginrai, who had been recreated as Victory Leo. Fight!! Victory Leo When Victory Leo again roared into battle to thwart the Breastforce's attempt to pillage the Mount Asama geothermal energy plant, Hellbat was in no rush to confront the feral Autobot, but he didn't have any compunctions about chasing the helpless Jean Minakaze through the plant's corridors and locking him in the exploding building. Awaken! Victory Leo

When Leozack tried posing as Star Saber in order to infiltrate the Shuttle Base and steal information on the Autobot leader's ability to combine with Victory Leo, Hellbat helped complete the illusion by broadcasting a fake message to the Autobots, demanding that "Star Saber" bring the relevant computer disk to him or he would blow their base up with hidden bombs. A Mystery?! The Deception of the Base Bombs After the failure of that plan, Hellbat was next dispatched to a jungle planet somewhere in the depths of space to search for the metal-eating Dorya insects, which he had previously heard about while visiting Planet X. His hatred of the wilderness notwithstanding, Hellbat successfully retrieved the insects and brought them back to Earth and helped unleash them against the Autobots, but the scheme turned sour when the heroic robots discovered that intense cold could defeat the little metal-munchers. In the chaos that followed, Hellbat wound up spilling the insects all over himself, and ran off screaming. The Death-Bringing Space Insects!!

Hellbat's final plot was his grandest: he actually succeeded in locating the lost continent of Atlantis and its massive supply of energy, and took the information straight to Deathsaurus. This proved to be the last straw for Leozack, who gave Hellbat a ferocious beating, until Hellbat revealed what he had told Deathsaurus: raise the continent and use its energy to recharge Deathsaurus's Planet-Destroying Fortress. The Terror of the Giant Tidal Waves The plan succeeded, and with this Atlantean energy in their clutches, the Breastforce and Deathsaurus departed for space, heading right for the fortress. From the stronghold, the Decepticons began a final attack on Earth, bombarding the planet with meteors, but the Autobots succeeded in thwarting their scheme, despite a bit of attempted treachery courtesy of Leozack. At the battle's end, Deathsaurus revealed that the fortress was home to the Decepticon civilians, and that they had been fighting to keep them safe. Struck by this revelation, Star Saber decided that it was time for the Autobots and Decepticons to lay down their arms, and live in peace—the truest victory of all! {{storylink|Heroic! Deathcobra was summoned by Deathsaurus to join his cadre of warriors and complete the team that would form the goliath Liokaiser. However, he was intercepted on his way to the Decepticons' base by Hellbat, who begged him to just go away, fearing that with Deathcobra on the team, his usefulness was at an end. He actually was right, since he heard Leozack's talk of replacing him with Deathcobra.

Naturally, Deathcobra told Hellbat to stick it in his reactor linkage, and the jittery Hellbat threatened to shoot his rival. Deathcobra advanced anyway, and in a panic, Hellbat actually did shoot him. This led to a firefight where Hellbat was tremendously outclassed, but a wild, lucky shot ended up killing Deathcobra.
Realizing what a deep pile he was in, Hellbat was saved when he realized the fight had been witnessed by the Micromasters Holi and Clipper, letting him place the blame for Deathcobra's death on the Autobots, and ensuring his position as part of Liokaiser. {{storylink|Unite!
