A legendary Autobot returns to Earth to look for a new Decepticon, but Optimus finds that something is not right with the rogue Bot.

Synopsis
Agent Fowler calls the Autobots, furious about another fight with possible collateral damage. Though all of them are present at base, Ratchet posits that the fighters may be infighting Decepticons. However, a video feed shows otherwise, for the two are an unidentified Skyquake-like Decepticon—and Wheeljack! Though Bulkhead is thoroughly excited, Fowler demands that the situation be handled pronto.

Outside of Omaha, Wheeljack battles it out with the 'Con. Agent Fowler hovers over the scene and demands stoppage, but is fired upon by Wheeljack. The Autobot is hit in the shoulder, and falls back as Agent Fowler supplies suppressive fire. A GroundBridge opens up, and the Autobots step out. They aid Wheeljack, and fire upon the Decepticon, who takes cover. Agent Fowler flies overhead, and the Decepticon seizes the opportunity to scan his vehicle. He runs toward a gas station, and Wheeljack aims his blasters at him. Despite Optimus and Bulkhead's cautioning, he fires, and the station explodes as the Decepticon transforms and flies off. Though Wheeljack believes that the 'Con—revealed as Dreadwing—rigged it to explode, he is informed otherwise. Though the Wrecker is eager to give pursuit, Optimus tells him that, while on Earth, it would be wise to respect his authority.

Back at base, Ratchet repairs Wheeljack. He apologizes for the collateral damage, but says that his pursuit of Dreadwing warranted it. He starts into the story of his pursuit. Originally, he was looking for Autobot refugees, but when the one he had found— the former Wrecker Seaspray—is blown to bits by one of Dreadwing's bombs, he made it his mission to track the rogue 'Con down. After several solar systems worth of pursuit, Wheeljack caught up with him on Earth. Optimus recounts his own knowledge of Dreadwing—he was a captain of a Seeker armada, and Skyquake's twin. He also infers that Dreadwing's mission is to pay allegiance to Megatron. Wheeljack is eager to get out and kick Dreadwing's tailpipe, but Optimus reels him in, saying that any action taken against the Decepticons must be carefully planned on this foreign planet. This infuriates the Wrecker, who can't fathom the idea of doing nothing. Agent Fowler walks in and admonishes Wheeljack for nearly blowing their cover, and demands that Prime keep a closer watch on his troops. Wheeljack doesn't take well to being called part of the team, and walks off, followed by Bulkhead. Optimus explains Wheeljack's disregard for authority by his inclusion in the Wreckers, a unit that operated outside of normal command.

Somewhere mountainous, Dreadwing holds a laser beacon that continues into the sky. The Nemesis arrives, and he boards. Megatron welcomes his loyalty, but Dreadwing reveals that he was brought to Earth with another purpose as well. He says that he and his twin, Skyquake, shared a split spark, and that he could feel across the galaxy when his brother was released from stasis—and when his spark was extinguished. This information is confirmed by Megatron, and Dreadwing vows to make every Autobot on Earth pay. Megatron avows that they will—eventually, under his terms. He advises the Seeker to obey him, for his best interests.

As Wheeljack works on his ship, Bulkhead attempts to change his mind about the planet. Wheeljack lists the comrades they'd lost in battle, but Bulkhead takes is as all the more reason that they must stick together. Wheeljack doubts Optimus's integrity, but Bulkhead stands firmly by him. Inside the Jackhammer, a challenge comes through over the commlink from Dreadwing. Wheeljack straps in to meet the 'Con, and Bulkhead gets in as well. They jet off to meet their challenger.

Dreadwing faces off against Wheeljack, both determined to finish their business. They exchange fire, and Dreadwing runs and jumps into a crevice. The Wrecker gives pursuit, and Dreadwing avails him of the "surprises" he's left—proximity bombs, scattered all throughout the crevice. He dodges them with ease, and pins the 'Con against a dead end. Bulkhead reveals himself atop the crevice, preventing Dreadwing from flying off. However, he has one last trick up his sleeve—one last bomb, placed meters from Bulkhead's position. It explodes, burying the two under the exploded cliff face as he flies off.

At base, Ratchet finds Bulkhead's transmission over a thousand miles away. At Optimus's inquiry, he says that no response has been made.

In the crevice, Optimus helps Wheeljack out of a pile of boulders. Though Optimus acknowledges that he cannot force Wheeljack to obey his orders, he reprimands the rebel for endangering the safety of one of his troops. Ratchet informs Optimus over comm that Bulkhead's signal has moved.

Wheeljack and Optimus fly to Bulkhead's location, a shipping depot. They find him in an unfortunate predicament, strapped to a crate with a bomb wired into his chest. Wheeljack gets to work defusing the bomb, but it proves a challenging prospect, as it is laced with all sorts of failsafes.

Dreadwing looks on, with Optimus in his sights. He receives a transmission from Megatron, and tells his leader that he is pursuing his destiny. Megatron responds by saying that Optimus is not so easily beaten.

Bulkhead tries to stop Wheeljack from continuing his attempts to defuse the bomb. He notices that Optimus is gone, and Wheeljack again deprecates Optimus for fleeing when the situation gets hot.

Megatron allows Dreadwing to continue his plan, out of respect for his deceased brother. He disconnects, and muses to Soundwave that he does not expect him to come back. Dreadwing notices that Optimus is not there anymore, and Optimus chooses to announce himself. He appeals to the Decepticon's sense of honor, saying that his master does not respect chivalry and honor as he and his brother did. Dreadwing refuses the offer of defection, and fires upon Prime, who escapes into the maze of containers.

Bulkhead pleads with Wheeljack to leave, but it falls on deaf ears. He says that the only bot who knows how to defuse the bomb is Dreadwing. Wheeljack remarks on the encroaching blaster fire, when he is delivered an uppercut by Bulkhead. The big bot tears out of his restraints, and runs away from his friend.

Dreadwing continues to spar with Optimus, but loses him from his sights.

Bulkhead runs toward the water, apologizing in advance to the sea life, when Wheeljack jumps out and tries to stop him. He is no match for the huge 'Bot, and is pushed along with him. He appeals to Bulkhead, agreeing with the fact that only Dreadwing can defuse the bomb—and that Optimus knows it as well.

The Seeker slowly searches the dock. Suddenly, he hears a roar, and above him, Optimus comes crashing down on top of him with a shipping crane. Pinned, Dreadwing is forced to listen again to Optimus's proposal to defuse the bomb, which is now standing right beside him. Dreadwing is unfazed, saying that he would rather destroy himself and all three Autobots to avenge his brother. Optimus calls his bluff, and says that they too will die in fire with their brother. He grudgingly accepts, and defuses the bomb. However, not about to leave empty handed, Dreadwing sets off the many bombs he had placed throughout the port, and flies off. Wheeljack wonders who will clean that up.

On the Nemesis, Megatron gloats about Dreadwing's defeat, but seems mildly surprised that the Seeker still lives. Dreadwing, in the wake of his defeat, pledges his total loyalty to Megatron.

At the base, now addressing Optimus as "Commander," Wheeljack apologizes for his misjudgment about him earlier. All the Autobots, sans Ratchet, try to convince Wheeljack to stay. He says he'll explore the planet, to see if it's right for him. However, Bulkhead tells him that he has to have an Earth alternate mode.

Outside, Wheeljack transforms, and drives off into the distance.
Notes
Animation and technical errors
* When Wheeljack faces Dreadwing in the forest, the scar on his left shoulder (that was inflicted by Dreadwing in their first showdown on Earth) seems to have disappeared. Few moments later it's there again.
* When Wheeljack is chasing Dreadwing through the chasm, his grenade can be seen on his hip, despite it having been used earlier.

Continuity notes
* This episode features the first on-screen use of the term Terrorcon.
* Soundwave shows scenes of Optimus and Bumblebee's fight with Skyquake in "Masters & Students".
* Arcee references "Masters & Students" and "Shadowzone".

Transformers references
* Wheeljack namedrops former Wreckers Impactor, Roadbuster, Rotorstorm, and Pyro. The Generation 1 incarnations of these four characters are all Wreckers from various continuities: Impactor and Roadbuster were original members of the group when it was first introduced in "Target: 2006", while Rotorstorm and Pyro joined in Last Stand of the Wreckers. Like their Prime counterparts, all four characters have indeed been seen to die while serving as Wreckers in one continuity or another. Seaspray being a Wrecker, meanwhile, is a new addition.
* Wheeljack namedrops the Dromedon system and the planets Maderan and Sandokan.
* Dreadwing is referred to as a Seeker.
* Dreadwing references The Pit.
*Optimus explains how the Wreckers are a separate team faction from the Autobots.

Real-world references
*Fowler compares the activities of the Wreckers to "black ops", a term for covert military operations.

Trivia
*Fowler really needs to stop flying that jet of his around Decepticons who look like they turn into jets.
*Wheeljack finally takes an Earth-based vehicle mode. Seems like he's on Earth to stay.
*Dreadwing's proximity bombs have plates resembling his wings. Perhaps they're his trademark symbol for each location he visits--though it doesn't last when it explodes.
*Optimus didn't look very comfortable in Wheeljack's ship.

* Dreadwing references The Pit.

*While Skyquake, Airachnid, and Dreadwing are all Decepticons, Wheeljack is the first Autobot to take on an Earth vehicle mode on-screen in the series.
Menasor
:Menasor is a citizen of Gigantion from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Menasor is filled with rage. He finds his planet's laws stifling and stupid, and believes his people are destined for greater things than merely building with no seeming goal in mind other than to continue building. On top of that, being one of the younger Gigantions, he feels that he's simply not given the respect he deserves from Metroplex and the others. As such, he's joined up with Megatron and his Decepticons, who have promised much to the disillusioned worker.

Menasor is always accompanied by his Mini-Con partner Heavy Load, who doesn't seem to share Menasor's anger, and sometimes tries to set the rebellious machine straight.

Fiction
Cybertron cartoon
:Voice actor: Sam Vincent (English), Yūto Kazama (Japanese)

Menasor was contacted by Megatron when he and the Decepticons first arrived on Gigantion. Intrigued by Megatron's desire to explore the Giant Planet's older and abandoned sectors for the Cyber Planet Key, Menasor allowed himself to be talked into joining Megatron's quest. The Decepticons' goals aligned perfectly with Menasor's own interest in delving into the past of his world, and it was just what he needed to stick it to Metroplex a little. Sure enough, Metroplex allied himself with the Autobots and tried to stop Menasor from breaking open the blockade leading to Gigantion's older sectors. Menasor fought against Override and Evac until Megatron was injured in battle and the Decepticons were forced to retreat. Giant

Menasor and the Decepticons attended to Megatron until his Aura of Fury built to the point where he reformatted himself out of pure rage, becoming Galvatron. Fury Later on, he observed the antics of Galvatron's band of merry men with some amusement before heading out on the search for the Cyber Planet Key. City Working with Galvatron personally during their exploration, Menasor and his new leader crossed paths with the Cybertron Defense Team. Galvatron allowed Menasor to test himself against the Autobots first. The Gigantian towered over his opponents and pushed them hard in battle, but he ultimately fell before the triple Cyber Key Power of their Triangle Attack. Galvatron defeated the Autobots by himself after that, and carried Menasor from the battlefield. Scourge (episode)

As the Autobots and Decepticons both reached Gigantion's central core, Menasor finally had the chance to pit himself against Metroplex personally. Their fight was fierce but brief, coming to an abrupt conclusion once Heavy Load ejected himself from Menasor's chest. The Mini-Con joined Metroplex's partner Drill Bit in standing between the two combatants, waving off any further fighting. The wee folk's actions gave the Giants a chance to reconsider their conflict, and Metroplex acknowledged it was time to stop treating Menasor as a wee bairn and start calling him an equal. Menasor quickly admitted that was all he ever really wanted, and agreed to join Metroplex and the Autobot team in stopping the black hole. Optimus (episode)

Menasor cemented his new allegiance when he stood with the Autobots against Galvatron for control of the completed Omega Lock, although he fell just like the rest of them. Menasor showed what a truly good spark lay within him when he joined Quickmix in defending the Earth children against falling debris created by the fight between Starscream and Galvatron. Showdown After Galvatron won and the Space Bridge back to normal space crumbled in his absence, Menasor and the other denizens of Giant Planet lent their considerable expertise to constructing a new Space Bridge. Menasor eagerly worked side-by-side with Quickmix as an equal as they worked at a breakneck pace to reconstruct the Cybertronian technology from scratch. Although their efforts failed, the Autobots soon found another way to return home, and Menasor left Gigantion with Metroplex and Quickmix to lend his strength to the final struggle against Galvatron and the black hole. Guardian (episode)

Menasor and the Gigantians united with the Transformers of five worlds to put an end to Galvatron. Homecoming (episode) He fought alongside Metroplex and Quickmix against the Decepticon Ransack, who was now their equal in size thanks to a power-up from Galvatron. End After the villains were defeated and the black hole closed for good, Menasor eagerly jumped into a new construction project, building massive thrusters on Jungle Planet to alter its orbit and bring it back into the proper alignment. Unfinished When Optimus Prime proposed the Transformers restart the Space Bridge program of their ancestors, Menasor and Heavy Load signed on for that as well. They took their place aboard the Atlantis with Optimus Prime, and blasted off into the great unknown on a new journey. Beginning

At some point after he was known to have fought the mysterious Initial T with Leobreaker

TransTech
In Axiom Nexus, Menasor was working with Dirge and the Malignus hunting down the assassins who killed Gutcruncher. When it was revealed Black Shadow was the culprit, Menasor laid a mighty smackdown on him, crushing the Crossformer into the street. In the melee that followed, Menasor was eventually taken into custody by Cheetor and the Security Administration. Gone Too Far
*Menasor (Ultra, 2006)
**Accessories: Giant Planet style Cyber Key

: Menasor transforms into a Cybertronic (Gigantian?) excavation machine. He has an "assault" vehicle mode that widens the space between his drills and separates the plow halves on his front so his partner Mini-Con Heavy Load can fit in, expanding the blade's width. In robot mode, Menasor's chest panel flips down to reveal a space for Heavy Load to fit in his robot mode. The panel also has a double-barreled flip-down (non-firing) blaster. He also has an alternate "work" robot mode, which widens his stance and reverses the direction of his knees.

: Menasor's drill-arm gimmicks are fully functional in all modes. Placing a Mini-Con on the Powerlinx plug on his right drill unlocks the spring-activated grippers to the side, plus unlocks the drill, which can extend by pushing the Mini-Con forward. The left drill spins through a gear-wheel mechanism on its underside, while plugging a Cyber Planet Key to its Key jack activates electronic lights and sounds. He comes with a silver-bordered Gigantion-style Cyber Planet Key with the Key Code "us4r" tampographed on the back.

: The Mini-Con hardpoints on his knees are notable for being awkwardly placed; in his true robot mode, the legs can't be positioned straight down because the pegs bump into each other. This gives the Menasor an unusual bowlegged stance, and additionally adding Mini-Cons to the pegs will prevent him from being able to stand at all, since the added robots would make Menasor actually have to do a split.

: In Japan, Menasor was only available through e-Hobby's online ordering service, in Hasbro packaging, in October of 2006... ten months after Galaxy Force stopped in Japan.

:This mold was used as the basis for the non-toy Omega Doom.
Notes
* Menasor's vehicle mode actually connects together better than shown in the stock photos (the official instructions and show model do not even acknowledge that the connectors exist). The plugs on the backs of his elbows fit into the sockets on his feet; These are supposed to connect together in vehicle mode. They do so fairly well, but must be disconnected for Menasor's Heavy-Load-added assault-vehicle mode. It actually comes packed like this, though there's no mention of it anywhere.

* Like the other Gigantions, Menasor's "work" robot mode is only seen in the Cybertron cartoon as a halfway point in his vehicle-to-robot stock footage transformation sequence.
