Animation error
Sorry, but I can't remember how to add my username. I just wanted to point out that there is another small error in the episode. When Dreadwing digs himself out of the avalanche and is holding is cannon, his sword is attached to the top of it (which is presumably where he stores it) yet moments later he picks his sword up off the ground and then puts it away.
According to Beast Wars fans who named the Darksyde, it should be called "Decepticon Technology". 82.238.12.114 16:03, 15 May 2012 (EDT)
::I think they were talking about the Apex Armor. Which Optimus referred to as the "Apex Armor" onscreen and Starscream said was Decepticon technology. --abates 19:06, 15 May 2012 (EDT)
The Apex Armor's Origin
Personally, I think Starscream's line wasn't meant to be cannon, rather a sign of his absolute craving, by this point, for anything that would give him an advantage over Megatron. So he could have easily made a mistake. It's also possible that since the Armor was created by Solus Prime, it could pre-date the Autobot/Decepticon conflict, incorporating elements that would only become a Decipticon trademark, several million years later. Kinda like how Nike has been adapted from a Greco-Roman goddess, into a brand of sneakers.
:Well that's your personal interpretation, and that kind of "I think this means this for sure" isn't what this Wiki's about. --Detour 21:56, 18 May 2012 (EDT)
::Detour's right. We can't assume an unreliable narrator just 'cuz it helps us out. --ItsWalky 21:57, 18 May 2012 (EDT)
::: I posted this on the Apex armor discussion page, but thought I would add it here too. Hypothesizing that maybe the reason it's Decepticon made as opposed to Prime forged is twofold, meta and in-universe. In-universe might be that it's a 'Con copy of the Solus Prime version. Meta reason could be that the writers realized they had a plot hole looming: if the armor was a relic of the Primes, then like the Forge, it would only work for a Prime.

Juggernaut and Metallo?
Two things about the Apex Armor in this episode... one, the way it looks on Starscream (in overall shape, with the rounded shoulders and helmet in particular), and the power it grants him (nigh-invulnerability), seems very reminiscent of the Juggernaut to me. Also, the way the episode ended, with Starscream still in the armor, doggedly walking underwater because he lacks the buoyancy or means to propel himself, is similar to how Metallo's first appearance in Superman: The Animated Series (episode 7, "The Way of All Flesh") ended.

Would these be valid enough to be considered Real World References? Kyojikasshu 21:11, 20 May 2012 (EDT)

No to the Juggernaut reference. The Apex Armor is basically your standard nigh-invulnerable super armor so it'll be bound to look kinda Juggernaut-y regardless of being intended to resemble it or not. As for the second supposed reference, also no because that is just what would happen with someone if they where in heavy armor and fell into the water -they're gonna sink to the bottom and walk along the bottom. == The Snowball ==
Maybe he picked up a snowball the first time he even whent to the arctic....
That's my opinion...
