On the run from [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], the Autobots take refuge on board the mausoleum ship containing many of their deceased comrades. These include [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]], [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], [[Huffer]], and [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], who is strangely alive again thanks to a [[Quintesson]] plot. After Optimus saves their lives, [[Rodimus Prime]] eagerly returns the [[Matrix of Leadership]] to him, despite his bizarre behavior and damaged appearance. After he re-assumes command, Optimus orders an all-out attack on a supposed Quintesson base (in reality a trap that the partially-reprogrammed Optimus is designed to lead the Autobot fleet into). Eventually, Optimus' dangerous, erratic behavior forces Hot Rod to reclaim the Matrix from his zombified mentor, who still possesses enough of his true heroic self to partially fight back against the Quintesson's reprogramming. When he does, the irreparable Optimus' last act is to pilot the Autobot flagship into the trigger zone of the Quintesson trap. And thus, the tears of untold thousands of young boys flowed all over again.

However, Prime's deceased body was apparently saved from the ship by Jessica Morgan and Gregory Swofford, leading to the events of [[The Return of Optimus Prime]].

[[Megatron Origin, Part 2|The Megatron Origin]] miniseries shows a much darker origin for the phrase. During a gladitorial death match between Megatron and an unnamed opponent, the crowd begin to chat the phrase, apparently attmpting to goad Megatron into finish his opponent off. It is unknown why the crowd would choose this chant to encourage a gladiator to kill someone.

They both felt a strong connection to the prehistoric [[Earth]], and they frequently spent their time outside of the Maximal base in their beast forms instead. After the destruction of the Planet Buster sent dozens of stasis pods crashing to Earth, the pair set off on a voyage to find what had become of their Maximal comrades within the pods. Megatron, already aware of the next move, used their deceptive tendencies against them, and acted unaware of their treachery. As they built their escape ship, he installed his own variant on the design, making it unescapable once sealed and in space. When an energon blast sent her and Silverbolt into the middle of the dense jungles, they were forced to work together. Blackarachnia, though attracted to him, was endlessly frustrated by his seemingly idiotic chivalry and need to treat her special. Megatron, listening in to their commlink chatter, was disgusted by the obvious romance going on. Megatron sent Waspinator to the location of the Ark. Blackarachnia, realizing what it meant, abandoned her post and went instead. Silverbolt followed her, and stubbornly refused to leave her alone. Exhausted and in a hurry, she conceded and told him to dig. The two broke through the mountainside, just as Megatron - having broke free from [[Ravage]], arrived. Megatron knew Blackarachnia had the codes to the Golden Disk that would allow them to get by the Ark's security systems, and he threatened to vape Silverbolt. Bitterly, she agreed to his demands.

Blackarachnia used the Ark's security system to cover Megatron's back, not sure of what he was planning. Once he fired upon [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], history began to change, wiping out all Maximals...which included herself. Not willing to die for Megatron, she activated [[Teletraan-1]]'s security nets to force Megatron off the ship. With Silverbolt's help, they got the dying Autobot leader under life support and begun the repairs. The Maximals, recognizing what she had done, reluctantly allowed her to join their ranks. {{storylink|Optimal Situation}}

Later, Blackarachnia took the [[Transmetal driver]] and attempted to use it on herself. Silverbolt, not realizing what she was planning, bailed her out of the contraption. Like every good girlfriend, she began to chew him out, but was cut off as an energy surge made her lose control of her circuits. A security system Tarantulas installed had been triggered by her tampering with her core, and the only way to fix it was to cut the Predacon [[shell program]] loose. Reluctantly, she agreed. An attack on the Maximal base disrupted the attempt, and she was deactivated.

Distraught, Silverbolt took off to avenge her death. He easily subdued Tarantulas, and was moments away from executing him when [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] attacked him. In Beast Machines, Blackarachnia was distraught and confused - she was locked out of her robot mode, back in her original body, all of her allies were gone, Silverbolt had vanished, and she was being attacked by what looked like [[Cybertronian]] guards. Unable to count on her Maximal allies, Blackarachnia fell back upon her Predecon notions of survival of the fittest and was notably more withdrawn and skeptical than at the end of the Beast Wars.

She had a relatively easy time adapting to her new technorganic form, but she was still frustrated by the loss of Silverbolt. When [[Thrust (BM)|Thrust]] saved her life, having strange recollections of doing so before, her mind was set - he was Silverbolt, mutated and made evil by Megatron.

Using some of the organic fluid from the Cybertronian core, she trapped Thrust in some of her webs and forced his inner personality out, begging for Silverbolt to answer. The reply was not quite what she was looking for.

When [[Jetstorm]] attacked, he also was caught up in some of her organic goo, and his true personality came out, sweeping Blackarachnia in his arms. Silverbolt returned, but just for a moment. The goo vanished, and their Vehicon minds returned.

Later, Blackarachnia managed to force Jetstorm into a large pool of the organic goo, and his body began to change. Scanning a nearby vulture skeleton, he awoke in a new body.

Blackarachnia was startled by the change in him. Instead of the lovable chivalrous knight in shining armor, he was a brittle, haunted bot, tormented by the images of the evil deeds he did, and did by choice. Though he gave up on himself, she never did, urging Silverbolt to forgive his past.

(Wal*Mart had taken a good half-dozen exclusives and released them more-or-less simultaneously, leading to a huge glut. A lot of other ''Transformers'' exclusives were cancelled during the ''Universe'' era.) One of the sets was "[[Leatherhide]] Vs. Blackarachnia"... and thus, the mystery spider was confirmed, as the other test-shots in that group lined up with the name listings given in the sets.

By that point in the Beast Wars television series, the Transmetal Driver had destroyed her Predacon [[shell program]], making her fully Maximal. (Though, to be fair, it had happened mere moments previously.)

Blackarachnia was born from one of the [[Maximal]] fallen [[Stasis pod]]s. [[Tarantulas]], watching a black widow fight and devour another spider, was inspired. [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]], observing the slim and attractive Blackarachnia transform and strike a few poses, suggested that he had "ulterior motives behind her beast form selection." But, she was a Predacon, and that was what was important.

Blackarachnia made herself renowned among the ranks of both the Maximals and Predacons as a severe headache to Megatron. When Tarantulas found out about the [[Vok]], he tried to craft a stasis pod escape ship for himself, and she was there to forge a partnership {{storylink|Spider's Game}}. When [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]] and Blackarachnia journeyed to the island, she was there to shove him out of the way and take control of the island herself, only defeated by [[Tigatron]] {{storylink|The Trigger, Part 1}}. When [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] took control of [[Waspinator]]'s body, she was right next to him when he betrayed Megatron, betraying Starscream ''back'' {{storylink|Possession}}. When the Vok were moments away from returning, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia both again teamed up in an attempt to flee the dying planet. Megatron, already aware of the next move, used their deceptive tendencies against them, and acted unaware of their treachery. As they built their escape ship, he installed his own variant on the design, making it unescapable once sealed and in space. Though it did not destroy either of them, the result was even better: [[Optimus Primal]] wound up in the pod and was destroyed instead. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 2}} Blackarachnia's wits saved her, as she convinced Megatron that he would need soldiers, which gave him reason to spare her life. {{storylink|Aftermath}}

When an energon blast sent her and Silverbolt into the middle of the dense jungles, they were forced to work together. Blackarachnia, though attracted to him, was endlessly frustrated by his seemingly idiotic chivalry and need to treat her special. Megatron, listening in to their commlink chatter, was disgusted by the obvious romance going on. Blackarachnia, though she held it under a firm charade of bitter irritation, rather liked the treatment and affection. {{storylink|Bad Spark}}

Megatron sent Waspinator to the location of the Ark. Blackarachnia, realizing what it meant, abandoned her post and went instead. Silverbolt followed her, and stubbornly refused to leave her alone. Exhausted and in a hurry, she conceded and told him to dig. The two broke through the mountainside, just as Megatron - having broke free from [[Ravage]], arrived. Megatron knew Blackarachnia had the codes to the Golden Disk that would allow them to get by the Ark's security systems, and he threatened to vape Silverbolt. Bitterly, she agreed to his demands.

Blackarachnia used the Ark's security system to cover Megatron's back, not sure of what he was planning. Once he fired upon [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], history began to change, wiping out all Maximals...which included herself. Not willing to die for Megatron, she activated [[Teletraan-1]]'s security nets to force Megatron off the ship. With Silverbolt's help, they got the dying Autobot leader under life support and begun the repairs. The Maximals, recognizing what she had done, reluctantly allowed her to join their ranks. {{storylink|Optimal Situation}}

Later, Blackarachnia took the [[Transmetal driver]] and attempted to use it on herself. Silverbolt, not realizing what she was planning, bailed her out of the contraption. A security system Tarantulas installed had been triggered by her tampering with her core, and the only way to fix it was to cut the Predacon [[shell program]] loose. Reluctantly, she agreed. An attack on the Maximal base disrupted the attempt, and she was deactivated.

Distraught, Silverbolt took off to avenge her death. He easily subdued Tarantulas, and was moments away from executing him when [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] attacked him. In Beast Machines, Blackarachnia was distraught and confused - she was locked out of her robot mode, back in her original body, all of her allies were gone, Silverbolt had vanished, and she was being attacked by what looked like [[Cybertronian]] guards. Unable to count on her Maximal allies, Blackarachnia fell back upon her Predecon notions of survival of the fittest and was notably more withdrawn and skeptical than at the end of the Beast Wars.

She had a relatively easy time adapting to her new technorganic form, but she was still frustrated by the loss of Silverbolt. When [[Thrust (BM)|Thrust]] saved her life, having strange recollections of doing so before, her mind was set - he was Silverbolt, mutated and made evil by Megatron.

Using some of the organic fluid from the Cybertronian core, she trapped Thrust in some of her webs and forced his inner personality out, begging for Silverbolt to answer. The reply was not quite what she was looking for.

Later, Blackarachnia managed to force Jetstorm into a large pool of the organic goo, and his body began to change. Scanning a nearby vulture skeleton, he awoke in a new body.

Blackarachnia was startled by the change in him. Instead of the lovable chivalrous knight in shining armor, he was a brittle, haunted bot, tormented by the images of the evil deeds he did, and did by choice. Though he gave up on himself, she never did, urging Silverbolt to forgive his past.

The Decepticon [[Emperor of Destruction]], he bears a bitter grudge against [[Autobot]] [[Supreme Commander]], [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]]. He prefers to lead his warriors from a distance, though engages in battle when necessary. Much like a Bond villain, he'll gladly tell you his plan before leaving you unsupervised in a delayed-result death trap. That said, he is ferociously powerful, and has come disturbingly close to victory on several occasions. He even pulled the trigger in an attack that would have killed a helpless Star Saber, only to find he'd transfered too much energy to his fortress and the damn gun didn't work. The guns designer was later found impaled on a church spire.

Years ago, striving to become the Decepticons' new [[Emperor of Destruction]], Deathsaurus created a gigantic battle fortress capable of destroying planets, but an attack by the young [[Autobot]] commander [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]] saw the fortress de-powered and trapped within a region of space known as the [[Dark Nebula]]. This began the enmity between Star Saber and Deathsaurus, and as both combatants rose through the ranks of their respective armies, Deathsaurus vowed to eventually liberate his fortress and use it to destroy Star Saber.

After the conclusion of the [[Masterforce|Masterforce war]] on Earth, Deathsaurus set his sights on the planet's vast energy sources, and, from his command post on the Decepticons' starcraft the [[Thunder Arrow]], he directed his troops, the [[Breastforce]] and [[Dinoforce]] in attacks on the planet. Deathsaurus rarely dirtied his own hands, entering battle only rarely, and only when there was a chance that he could confront Star Saber directly, such as there was when he led the Breastforce in raiding the electical energy of American subway systems. This led him to be the object of great contempt from Breastforce sub-leader [[Leozack]], who schemed against Deathsaurus, but systematically failed to succeed in his numerous ploys, either as a result of his own incompetence or the counter-scheming of his subordinate, [[Hellbat]], who sought to overthrow both him and Deathsaurus. Deathsaurus was no fool, however, and remained perpetually aware of Leozack's plans - when the time came, he thrashed the Breastforcer in combat and forced him to swear utter loyalty to him.

While Star Saber was on the planet [[Micro]], Deathsaurus returned to the Dark Nebula to investigate the possibility of reactivating his fortress; he did not have enough energy, but was at least able to confirm that the fortress was in functional order and could be reactivated when the time came. Unfortunately for him, having expended what energy he had to confirm this, he was unable to finish Star Saber when he engaged him in battle in space on the return trip. Later, back on Earth, Deathsaurus lured Star Saber into a trap in the desert, where he attacked with the power of the Living Metal-Destroying Cannon.

The weapon almost finished Star Saber off until [[Ginrai|God Ginrai]] intervened and was left at death's door instead, but when he was reconstructed as [[Victory Leo]] and combined with Star Saber to form [[Victory Saber]], they were able to thwart Deathsaurus's plan to bombard Earth with asteroids.

Discovering that the sunken continent of [[Atlantis]] contained enough raw energy to re-energise his fortress, Deathsaurus ransacked the ancient ruins and abandoned the Dinosaur Force to their fate as the Thunder Arrow shot off into space to fulfil his evil plan. With the fortress active and headed directly for Earth, even Victory Saber could not stand up to its power, but a resentful Dinosaur Force supplied information on the fortress's weak spot to Star Saber's adopted human son, [[Jan]], who used his own [[Illumina II|personal mech]] to enter the fortress and strike and this vulnerability. As he did so, Deathsaurus and Star Saber engaged in a vicious battle, during which Deathsaurus lost an eye, and was eventually stopped when Star Saber broke his sword off in the villain's chest. Gushing fuel and fluid, Deathsaurus vowed to have the last laugh as he set the crippled fortress on a collision course with Earth, and blew himself out an airlock, vowing to return again and again. But, as his body drifted off into space, no sign of life was visible from the conquered emperor. Victory Saber subsequently destroyed the fortress, but Deathsaurus was not heard from again.

As a parallel to Star Saber's adoption of [[Jan Minakaze|Jan]], Deathsaurus had a "son" of his own, a human boy named [[Solon]]. Solon's mother was killed during a Decepticon attack on Earth, and who Deathsaurus "adopted", turning him into a cyborg and raising him to believe that he was his son. Solon had frequent clashes with Jan, whose school he began attending, which often degenerated into "my dad can beat up your dad"-style arguments as their "fathers" battled. At one point, Deathsaurus even attempted to bribe Jan into joining the Decepticons with toys, games, candy and cash.

Solon had his own battle armour and often rode Deathsaurus's Breastars as steeds, but when Victory Leo and Star Saber merged into Victory Saber, Deathsaurus sought a way to increase his own power in a similar fashion and crafted a Transformer-sized mech for Solon named [[King Solon]], with which he was able to combine, forming [[King Zaras]]. However, in the midst of this battle, Solon discovered the truth about his mother, and his distraction allowed Victory Saber to destroy the King Solon mecha. Deathsaurus fled, abandoning Solon, who accepted his earthly heritage and joined the Autobots.

During the final battle, as Deathsaurus's fortress attacks the Earth, it is he who battles Star Saber in space ''(unlike the animated series, in which Liokaiser takes this role)''. Leozack, then, is able to take his treachery to the ultimate extreme by turning the fortress's power on Deathsaurus, and Deathsaurus cripples the craft with his cannon as Star Saber takes Leozack down. Then, the wounded Deathsaurus reveals the true reason he has quested to liberate the fortress from the Dark Nebula - it is home to the Decepticons' families and civilians. Deathsaurus overpowered and captured the first wave himself, and soon faced Ironhide one-on-one, while [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] attempted to rescue the fallen Autobots. Due to the assistance of Tripredacus Agent [[Flamewar]], these two were defeated and captured as well.

They woke up bound inside Deathsaurus' clone lab. The Emperor of Destruction appeared on a television screen, declaring that his use for the lab was completed and was prepared to detonate it remotely with the Autobots inside. '''Megatron''' has one goal -- restoring glory and power to the Predacon race, with himself at the helm. What distinguishes Megatron from the countless others who share this goal is his chutzpah. He is willing to risk everything — time, space, himself — if need be.

Megatron is skillful at orchestrating vast schemes by manipulating others into doing them for him -- an idle suggestion here, a conspicuously-planted object of interest there. He knows his enemies inside and out and exactly how to provoke them. He has no friends, only pawns. Because of this attitude, this superiority complex, he despises working with the very troops he needs to carry out his plans. His hubris does not make him very popular, and so he must rely on power and fear to rule them.

Megatron is a gambler and can sometimes be a ham. (His manner of saying "Yesss..." is practically vaudevillian.) He has a twisted sense of humor and an over-developed sense of drama which rule everything he conceives, both long and short term. When he destroys you, he wants you to know that it was he who did this, and just how badly you were had. This is his greatest weakness. Like a Bond villain, he'll gladly boast to the hero at length about how smart and clever he was, giving his victim time to formulate a counterattack (he admits the Predacons sometimes gloat too much). He often sabotages himself by neglecting the quick and easy solutions for the bigger, meaner, and more complex.

After crashing on a planet that was supposed to be [[Earth]], yet seemingly wasn't, both the [[Maximal]]s and the Predacons took organic beast forms to protect themselves against the massive amount of Energon radiation. Despite the loss of a formidable crony, Megatron positioned himself on the new world and the "Beast Wars" began. Again, Terrorsaur tried to usurp Megatron, this time using an apparently-turned [[Rattrap]], who used a device to paralyze Megatron. The Predacons argued over who would be leader, but agreed to put Rattrap and Megatron away for the time being. Megatron was able to easily escape using his secret voice commands, leaving Rattrap to his fate. Revealing himself to have escaped, Megatron allowed Terrorsaur to lead the Predacons in battle with the Maximals. Terrorsaur failed miserably, showing his ineptitude to the Predacons, which was Megatron's plan all along. {{storylink|Double Jeopardy}}

Megatron later formulated a plan to get off Earth. First, he had the other Predacons act dissatisfied with his leadership, causing a battle that apparently destroyed the Predacons, using a Maximal spy camera that he was aware of to play out the trick. Then, the Maximals scavenged the ''Darksyde'' for parts to repair the ''Axalon''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s stardrive. Dinobot discovered the deception and rushed to warn the leaving Maximals. In the scuffle, Megatron snuck aboard. In the ''Axalon'', he managed to knock out every Maximal on the ship but Rattrap, who he started crushing to death. An angered [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] woke up and threw Megatron off the ''Axalon''. However, Megatron's tail weapon was stuck in the console, causing the ''Axalon'' to crash. Later, Megatron caught wind of the return of the [[Vok]] and called a ceasefire between the two factions, realizing he had more important things to worry about. The Vok did indeed return, and planned to destroy the planet the Transformers were on with their massive [[Planet Buster]] (cleverly disguised as the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]]). Optimus Primal managed to stop the planet buster after flying close to it within a modified stasis pod. The [[quantum surge]] from the exploding planet buster bathed Megatron in quantum energies, upgrading him into a [[transmetal]]. Megatron quickly rallied his forces and attempted an all-out attack on the leader-less Maximals. With both factions now aware that the planet they were stranded on was really prehistoric [[Earth]], Megatron was free to put his full plan into motion. By doing so, he intended to ensure the defeat of the [[Autobot]]s and thus the victory of the [[Decepticon]]s and Predacons. He managed to sneak inside the Ark (which was now the new Maximal base) and take the spark of the original Megatron, seeking to replicate the effect Optimus Prime's spark had on Primal's body. He placed his namesake's spark within his body, transforming himself into a powerful dragon. Megatron's next evil scheme involved the legendary Decepticon battleship, the [[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]]. After finding the ship deep beneath the ocean, Megatron intended to pilot it back to the future and lay waste to the Maximals on Cybertron. {{storylink|Nemesis, Part 1}} First, however, he planned to annihilate the Ark on prehistoric Earth. Beast Megatron's plans were quickly thwarted by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and a troop of time-displaced Autobots and Maximals, including [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]], [[Victory Leo]], [[Lio Convoy]] and Beast Megatron's arch nemesis, [[Optimus Primal]].

Using technology of his own devising and of [[Cryotek]]'s, he took over the entire planet, and stored the [[spark]] of every last inhabitant under his citadel. At some point in this period, Megatron became convinced that beast modes and other vestiges of the organic were an abomination that should be scoured from Cybertron, leaving only technological purity. (Whereas before he had seemed perfectly pleased with his dinosaur and dragon beast modes.) Additionally, Megatron seemed to have undergone a change. Gone was the ham who sought conquest for the sake of glory and power. He now spoke as if a god, almost reminicent of his quotes from the Covenant of Primus. His actions were based not on the thirst for revenge on Maximals but in hopes of becoming a grand liberator for their kind. in addition where as recently as the final battle of the beast wars, he would flatten a subordinate for even mentioning "the H word" he now would keep his word even at the risk of future losses. This was a new and even madder Megatron.

When the Maximals arrived in their shuttle, they found the planet empty aside from countless [[Vehicon|mindless drones]] controlled by Megatron. Megatron's drones immediately bombarded the Maximals with [[devolving gas]] to revert their powerful [[Transmetal]] bodies to normal beast mode bodies, and they were also affected by a [[transformation lock]] virus which Megatron had used to help him conquer the planet in the first place.

Despite his best efforts, the Maximals escaped, and learned to transform again after Primal used the [[Oracle]]'s power to [[reformatting|reformat]] them. They began making short work of his Vehicons, so he removed three sparks from his collection to create [[Vehicon general]]s which could think on their feet in battle. For the generals he chose sparks of Transformers that the Maximals already knew, such that if they ever discovered the sparks' identities, they would be reluctant to destroy them: [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]] became [[Jetstorm (BM)|Jetstorm]], [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] became [[Tankor]], and [[Waspinator]] became [[Thrust (BM)|Thrust]]. After Jetstorm was reformated into Silverbolt and Rhinox reawakened and destroyed, Megatron used the sparks of [[Obsidian (BM)|Obsidian]] and [[Strika]] to replace them.

However, Megatron still retained his own beast mode, unwilling to take the momentary risk of transfering his spark to a new body. After releasing the energies of the [[Key to Vector Sigma]] and the [[Plasma Energy Chamber]], Megatron attempted to transfer his spark to another body, but wound of stuck in [[Savage/Noble]], a purely organic creature. Eventually, Megatron would transfer his spark to the [[Grand Mal]], a vessel shaped in his own head. He attempted to consume the captured sparks, but [[Nightscream]] managed to depolarize his spark, causing it to jump between discarded shells and attack everyone in a zombie like fashion. Rattrap would use a [[spark extractor]] to repolarize his spark, allowing Megatron to regain his senses, but trapping him in a [[Diagnostic Drone]].

Ultimately, Megatron succeeded in capturing the sparks of all the Maximals, leaving just Optimus Primal and himself as the only two Transformers on the entire planet. At the end of a fierce one-on-one fight, in which Megatron wore a copy of the powerful Optimal Optimus body, Megatron began consuming his amassed sparks, growing ever more powerful. However, when he attempted to use the [[Key to Vector Sigma]] to transform the planet's [[organic core]] into [[technomatter]], Primal managed to dislodge them both. They plummeted into the planet's goopy core and, somehow, Primal was able to reformat the entire planet, destroying himself and Megatron completely, but freeing all the lost sparks to repopulate their newly redecorated planet.

Both Megatron and Optimus Primal awoke inside a bizarre temple-like spaceship which was hurtling through space. Neither had any memory of who they were or how they got there, only their own names and a feeling of discomfort between one another. The pair went about investigating the ship in search of answers. While Megatron's memory was lost, his personality remained mostly intact: he was more concerned with sezing control of the ship before Primal did in order to gain the upper hand.

They eventually found a data log and discovered that their sparks had been taken and they were reborn into new bodies (unbeknownst to them, bodies identical to their original forms). However, their memories were intentionally not uploaded into their new bodies. While searching the log they discovered that the ship's main power source was a [[Golden Disk]] lodged within a giant pillar. Megatron immediately raced to obtain the Disk and Primal followed him. The closer they got to the disk the more the ship attempted to thwart their advance by manipulating its atmosphere conditions.

Once they reached the chamber the ship's environment suddenly morphed to that of a decaying planet littered with the corpses of robots. The corpses came to life and began shambling toward them, intent on eating their sparks. They made short work of the zombies, leaving Megatron to obtain the Golden Disk and Primal with a feeling that he shouldn't entirely trust Megatron.

When [[Optimus Primal (BW)|Optimus Primal]]'s spark is revived from the within the Matrix to protect the multiverse, this action freed Megatron's spark as well. The reborn Megatron returned to the ranks of the Predacons, but this time, Optimus Primal found himself in an uneasy alliance with him against Unicron. Megatron traveled with his old nemesis from universe to universe, wherever the growing multiversal conflict had spread. But now with Unicron disappeared into the [[Unicron Singularity]], it remains to be seen whether Megatron's insane ambition will resurface.

Prior to the Universe Conflict an alternate dimension's Megatron was killed by a [[Razorclaw (Universe)|Tigerhawk]] who was corrupted by the Vok. All three Megatron-murderers were eventualy promoted to the rank of [[Unicron's General]]. It seems that killing Megatron may be part of Unicron's criteria for choosing a General.
