Optimus Prime is revived as a zombie by Quintessons.

==Detailed synopsis==

[[Image:OptimusMatrixAwakening.jpg|thumb|left|150px|No, keep all MacGuffins away!]]
On the run from [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], the Autobots take refuge on board the mausoleum ship containing many of their deceased comrades. These include [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]], [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], [[Huffer]], and [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], who is strangely alive again thanks to a [[Quintesson]] plot. After Optimus saves their lives, [[Rodimus Prime]] eagerly returns the [[Matrix of Leadership]] to him, despite his bizarre behavior and damaged appearance. After he re-assumes command, Optimus orders an all-out attack on a supposed Quintesson base (in reality a trap that the partially-reprogrammed Optimus is designed to lead the Autobot fleet into). Eventually, Optimus' dangerous, erratic behavior forces Hot Rod to reclaim the Matrix from his zombified mentor, who still possesses enough of his true heroic self to partially fight back against the Quintesson's reprogramming. When he does, the irreparable Optimus' last act is to pilot the Autobot flagship into the trigger zone of the Quintesson trap. And thus, the tears of untold thousands of young boys flowed all over again.

However, Prime's deceased body was apparently saved from the ship by Jessica Morgan and Gregory Swofford, leading to the events of [[The Return of Optimus Prime]].
===Continuity errors===
* Shortly after Optimus Prime first awakens, Rodimus Prime states that Optimus has been dead "for years". This is impossible, considering season 3 starts immediately after the 1986 movie. Also, Daniel is the same age he was when Optimus died. In actuality, Optimus has probably been dead maybe a couple weeks. This works a little better in Japan, though, where the series takes place in 2010.
===Miscellaneous trivia===
* When Daniel lists the names of the Autobots killed in the shuttle ambush, Brawn (the first casualty of the movie) is mysterously absent, replaced instead by Huffer (whose death is unseen). Brawn and Huffer (miscolored) later reappeared fighting for the Decepticons in the episode [[Carnage in C Minor]] (This is usually dismissed as an animation error)
It's been translated as either until the end of the [[Great War]], when all Transformers shed their factional affiliations, or until all are rejoined into the [[Allspark]] of [[Primus]]. [[Megatron Origin, Part 2|The Megatron Origin]] miniseries shows a much darker origin for the phrase. During a gladitorial death match between Megatron and an unnamed opponent, the crowd begin to chat the phrase, apparently attmpting to goad Megatron into finish his opponent off. It is unknown why the crowd would choose this chant to encourage a gladiator to kill someone.

Blurr was part of [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]]' unit on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]'', and had been for hundreds of years'' when the commander quit Cybertron for [[Nebulos]] and a peaceful life. {{storylink|Ring of Hate}}

After the failure of Maximus' plan, Blurr was one of the Autobots to become [[Targetmaster]]s, and he was paired with the Nebulan [[Haywire]] as his weapon/partner. He would stay with Fortress Maximus' crew until their reintegration with the rest of the Autobots.

''In the [[The Transformers: The Movie (1986)|Movie]]-based future of 2006 and onwards, Blurr became a seasoned time-traveller. On numerous occasions, he and other Autobots (generally [[Kup (G1)|Kup]] and [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime]]) travelled to the twentieth century to battle [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], who had fled Unicron to that time.''

''Returning from their last trip to 1989, Blurr and his comrades found themselves not in their home dimension, but in an alternate version of 2009. {{storylink|Rhythms of Darkness!}} The [[Galvatron II|Galvatron]] of this dimension beheaded Blurr - probably, though not conclusively, 'our' Blurr rather than the one native to that world.''
Blurr joined an underground Autobot cell led by [[Kup (G1)|Kup]] after [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave's]] takeover of [[Cybertron]]. Along with fellow cell members [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]] and [[Springer (G1)|Springer]], he observed a Decepticon shuttle (actually piloted by the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]]) from the [[Wastelands]]. Later, after Hot Rod brought an unconscious [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] to their base, Blurr and [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]] tried and failed to subdue the legendary Autobot when he woke up (Blurr's attempt was to punch Optimus in the face and nearly break his hand). Damage to his stasis pod upon crashing to [[Earth]] caused [[Tigatron]] to emerge far more tiger than robot. A loner who is more connected to the Earth than any other [[Beast Wars|Beast Warrior]], he enjoys the planet's natural beauty and is often concerned about the damage that the Transformers' battle is doing to it. Scout, infiltrator, and sometimes programming guru, Tigatron has filled a variety of roles for the Maximals.
====''Timelines: Dawn of Future's Past''====
[[Image:Tigatrondawn.jpg|left|thumb|250px|He wasn't even supposed to be here today!]]

Tigatron was once known as Unit 2, part of the [[Maximal Command Security Force]] which protected the fragile peace that existed on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] in the centuries following the [[Pax Cybertronia]]. One of the Security Force's elite troops, Unit 2 was often put in charge of guarding important Maximal artifacts, a job that often required his amazing prowess at tracking. Despite his strong command of this environment, Unit 2 wondered if his destiny and place was elsewhere.

When the [[Golden Disk]] was stolen by a band of rogue [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]], Unit 2 responded along with Unit 1, [[Nitrostreak]]. After Nitrostreak was incapacitated, Unit 2 attempted to follow the [[Darksyde]] by commandeering the ''[[Chromia 10]]'', pursuing, along with [[Airazor (BW)|its pilot]]. During the ensuing firefight, their ship was badly damaged. [[Optimus Primal]] had their [[Spark]]s remotely uploaded to blank protoforms in the [[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'s cargohold, which saved their lives, but severely damaged their core mainframes. {{storylink|Dawn of Future's Past}}

''(This story is a [[retcon]], as Tigatron was originally treated as a newborn protoform in the ''Beast Wars'' animated series. Instead, here he is revealed to have been a Maximal who existed previously on Cybertron but ended up on the ''Axalon'' in a stasis pod, damaged to the point of not remembering any of his past.)''
{{-}}

====''Beast Wars''====
:''Voice Actor:'' [[Blu Mankuma]] (English), [[Kōichi Tōchika]] (Japanese)

Tigatron was born in the far frozen north, at first heavily damaged in his memory circuts and unable to remember friend from foe. In his beast mode, he patiently watched the Predacon and Maximal forces duke it out. When Megatron threatened the white tigers, and the Maximals conceded the fight, Tigatron knew his alliance.

His alliance established ,Tigatron became a background player, sending updates to the [[Axalon]] through communication towers and lending assistance to the Maximals when called upon. He was rarely seen inside the Maximal base, regarding artificial environments as "strange".

He and [[Cheetor]] held a strong sibling friendship. While Cheetor was youthful and eager, Tigatron was confident and wise. Cheetor called him "Big Cat" frequently.

[[Image:Airazortigatrontrigger.jpg|right|thumb|A cat and bird fall for each other. Love is truly blind.]]
Tigatron had an organic tiger friend named [[Snowstalker]], who may or may not have been the basis for his altmode. Some fans have speculated that the pair were [[Robot-fleshling romance|more than friends]], as the [[human|dumb stubbies]] say. Sadly, Snowstalker became one of the war's casualties, putting Tigatron in a funk for a short while, until he realized that doing nothing only meant more innocents would die.

Not much later, Tigatron was the first to detect a pulsing alien energy source. When [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] initiated a somewhat suspicious truce shortly afterwards, [[Optimus Primal]] ordered a covert infiltration of the Predacon base. [[Rattrap]] and [[Airazor]] made enough of a distraction to allow Tigatron inside the [[Darksyde]].

Inside, he hacked his way into the ship's computer systems and found out what got Megatron so worried - The [[Vok]] were coming back, and they weren't happy. Tigatron and the rest of the Maximals barely survived the subsequent attack of the alien [[Planet Buster]].

Tigatron and Airazor formed a very powerful relationship during this time. They both felt a strong connection to the prehistoric [[Earth]], and they frequently spent their time outside of the Maximal base in their beast forms instead. After the destruction of the Planet Buster sent dozens of stasis pods crashing to Earth, the pair set off on a voyage to find what had become of their Maximal comrades within the pods. Unfortunately, before they could discover any still-functional pods, they were abducted by a [[Metal Hunter|bizarre alien plant]].

The two were not seen again until much later, when their inert bodies were revealed to be the captives of the Vok, floating somewhere in a deep space nebula. The Vok removed their Sparks from their bodies, which were then fused into the awesomely powerful [[Vok]] emissary [[Tigerhawk]]. When the Vok influence was removed from Tigerhawk, the Sparks of Tigatron and Airazor likewise fused and entered the empty shell.

====''Universe: The Wreckers''====
=====''Primeval Dawn=====
[[Image:Primeval Tigatron.jpg|thumb|left|Hello, kitty!]]

Tigatron and Airazor's sparks were sent back to Earth by the [[Vok]] sometime after [[Tigerhawk]]'s destruction. Tigatron's spark took possesion of [[Ravage]]'s former body at the bottom of a lake. Joining Transmetal Airazor and a newly-created [[Primal Prime]], Tigatron battled [[Tarantulas]] and Ravage, who had also managed to escape death.

''('''Note''': The ''Primeval Dawn'' story was never finished, so how Tigatron came to join the [[Wreckers]] (see below) is unknown.)''

=====''The Wreckers''=====
Tigatron, Primal Prime, and others arrived on Cybertron during Megatron's anti-biological reign. Various teams met with the [[Oracle]], which assigned them various tasks. When Optimus Primal objected, saying that with all these soldiers, Megatron could be defeated easily, the Oracle swept him away and cleansed his memory of the recent events. Tigatron vehemently objected to this treatment of his former commander. A set of coordinates was infused into Primal Prime's head by the Oracle. When arriving at an Autobot shuttle, which was to ferry the Wreckers to those coordinates, Tigatron felt that something was amiss. It was then that the Vehicon generals [[Spy Streak]], [[Scavenger_(BM)|Scavenger]], [[Quake]] and [[Blastcharge (BM)|Blastcharge]] attacked. Tigatron used his Nature's Fury attack, utterly destroying Quake. During the ride in the Autobot shuttle, Tigatron meditated, recovering from the battle. Upon arrived at their destination, he once again sensed that danger awaited the Wreckers...

[[Image:Blackarach24.jpg|right|thumb|Let's hope Airazor doesn't find out about this.]]

''(Note: although it picks up after the first season, the Beast Wars Metals manga is not in-continuity with the television series.)''
Tigatron acted as a samurai warrior and his body reflected that. At one point, he is forced to do battle with the [[spark|spark]]-less body of his beloved [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]]. Not wishing to harm her, he willingly let the evil Airazor take the opportunity to decapitate him.

Just as evil Airazor began to strike, the spark of the real Airazor entered his body. In cyberspace, the two embrace each other and vow never to be apart again. Their sparks then merge, resulting in the all-powerful [[Tigerhawk]].

When the [[Golden Disk]] was stolen by a band of rogue [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]], Unit 2 responded along with Unit 1, [[Nitrostreak]]. After Nitrostreak was incapacitated, Unit 2 attempted to follow the [[Darksyde]] by commandeering the ''[[Chromia 10]]'', pursuing, along with [[Airazor (BW)|its pilot]]. During the ensuing firefight, their ship was badly damaged. [[Optimus Primal]] had their [[Spark]]s remotely uploaded to blank protoforms in the [[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'s cargohold, which saved their lives, but severely damaged their core mainframes. {{storylink|Dawn of Future's Past}}

====''Beast Wars''====

====''Universe: The Wreckers''====
=====''Primeval Dawn=====

=====''The Wreckers''=====

=====''The Wreckers''=====
* An unproduced version of Tigatron shown at Toy Fair in 1996 was cast in orange plastic instead of cream-colored.

*Tigatron's beast mode may well have been female. His template animal was female, and while wild felines have size differences between males and females Tigatron and Snowstalker were shown as being the same size; indeed, they were for all intents and purposes identical, such that [[Waspinator]] thought Snowstalker ''was'' Tigatron.
*In the Japanese dub of Beast Wars, for the sake of humor, Tigatron was played as a "samurai" ronin. Additionally, since Airazor was made male in the Japanese dub, instead of their relationship being romantic, Airazor was presented as Tigatron's ward whom he looked to as a "brother" (hence the close bond).

*His role in the Beast Wars cartoon was originally intended for [[Wolfang]].<ref>[[Ben Yee]], from a discussion with [[Bob Forward]], at [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.toys.transformers/browse_frm/thread/9c79c4226fc6dd28/30c3cdf158ea6e52?lnk=st&q=bob+forward+beast+wars+tigatron+wolfang&rnum=1#30c3cdf158ea6e52 alt.toys.transformers].
When the [[Golden Disk]] was stolen by a band of rogue [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]], Unit 2 responded along with Unit 1, [[Nitrostreak]]. During the ensuing firefight, their ship was badly damaged. [[Image:Tigertron.gif|right|thumb|125px|C-L-E-M-S-OH CRAP!]]

:''Blackarachnia is a [[Predacon]], [[Maximal]], and a [[Decepticon]] in the [[Beast Era]] [[continuity family]]. She's a busy girl, huh?''

A sultry femme fatale, '''Blackarachnia''' is smart, sexy, and dangerous. She's got eight legs, and she knows how to use them. Of the several rebellious Predacons under [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]]'s command, she's one of the very few who can, on occasion, outguile him. Always looking out for Number One, Blackarachnia values her independence and freedom above all else. She would rather be deactivated than be a slave.

Blackarchnia's greatest weakness, other than her overconfidence, is her feelings for the Maximal [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]]. Something about his heroic demeanor and the kindness he shows her makes her uneasy. She hasn't experienced unconditional love before, and it scares her, though she'll never admit it.
[[Image:Blackarachnia_A_shame.jpg|left|thumb|hiya hot stuff]]

Blackarachnia was born from one of the [[Maximal]] fallen [[Stasis pod]]s. [[Tarantulas]], watching a black widow fight and devour another spider, was inspired. [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]], observing the slim and attractive Blackarachnia transform and strike a few poses, suggested that he had "ulterior motives behind her beast form selection." But, she was a Predacon, and that was what was important.

Blackarachnia made herself renowned among the ranks of both the Maximals and Predacons as a severe headache to Megatron. When Tarantulas found out about the [[Vok]], he tried to craft a stasis pod escape ship for himself, and she was there to forge a partnership {{storylink|Spider's Game}}. When [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]] and Blackarachnia journeyed to the island, she was there to shove him out of the way and take control of the island herself, only defeated by [[Tigatron]] {{storylink|The Trigger, Part 1}}. When [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] took control of [[Waspinator]]'s body, she was right next to him when he betrayed Megatron, betraying Starscream ''back'' {{storylink|Possession}}. When she aided Tarantulas in breaking into the ''Axalon'' to acquire a stasis pod for conversion into an escape ship, she took over after a following Inferno incapacitated Tarantulas, intending to take the ship for herself. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 1}} Unfortunately for her, this deception backfired on her in the form of a forced mind link between her and Tarantulas, which remained until she forced the spider into breaking it. {{storylink|Tangled Web}} When Tarantulas forced her to investigate Megatron's [[Golden Disk]] backups, she waited until Tarantulas was occupied to download and encrypt the recoverable information. {{storylink|Coming of the Fuzors, Part 2}}

[[Image:Blackarachnia_fightback.jpg|right|thumb|Spousal abuse!]]

When the Vok were moments away from returning, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia both again teamed up in an attempt to flee the dying planet. Megatron, already aware of the next move, used their deceptive tendencies against them, and acted unaware of their treachery. As they built their escape ship, he installed his own variant on the design, making it unescapable once sealed and in space. Though it did not destroy either of them, the result was even better: [[Optimus Primal]] wound up in the pod and was destroyed instead. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 2}} Blackarachnia's wits saved her, as she convinced Megatron that he would need soldiers, which gave him reason to spare her life. {{storylink|Aftermath}}

When an energon blast sent her and Silverbolt into the middle of the dense jungles, they were forced to work together. Blackarachnia, though attracted to him, was endlessly frustrated by his seemingly idiotic chivalry and need to treat her special. Megatron, listening in to their commlink chatter, was disgusted by the obvious romance going on. Blackarachnia, though she held it under a firm charade of bitter irritation, rather liked the treatment and affection. {{storylink|Bad Spark}}

[[Image:BA_Silverbolt_Agenda3.jpg|left|thumb|I ''can'' walk, you know.]]

Megatron sent Waspinator to the location of the Ark. Blackarachnia, realizing what it meant, abandoned her post and went instead. Silverbolt followed her, and stubbornly refused to leave her alone. Exhausted and in a hurry, she conceded and told him to dig. The two broke through the mountainside, just as Megatron - having broke free from [[Ravage]], arrived. Megatron knew Blackarachnia had the codes to the Golden Disk that would allow them to get by the Ark's security systems, and he threatened to vape Silverbolt. Bitterly, she agreed to his demands.

Blackarachnia used the Ark's security system to cover Megatron's back, not sure of what he was planning. Once he fired upon [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], history began to change, wiping out all Maximals...which included herself. Not willing to die for Megatron, she activated [[Teletraan-1]]'s security nets to force Megatron off the ship. With Silverbolt's help, they got the dying Autobot leader under life support and begun the repairs. The Maximals, recognizing what she had done, reluctantly allowed her to join their ranks. {{storylink|Optimal Situation}}

[[Image:TM2 Blackarachnia.jpg|right|thumb|Calender Bot]]

Later, Blackarachnia took the [[Transmetal driver]] and attempted to use it on herself. Silverbolt, not realizing what she was planning, bailed her out of the contraption. Like every good girlfriend, she began to chew him out, but was cut off as an energy surge made her lose control of her circuits. A security system Tarantulas installed had been triggered by her tampering with her core, and the only way to fix it was to cut the Predacon [[shell program]] loose. Reluctantly, she agreed. An attack on the Maximal base disrupted the attempt, and she was deactivated.

Distraught, Silverbolt took off to avenge her death. He easily subdued Tarantulas, and was moments away from executing him when [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] attacked him. Blackarachnia, with her new and improved Transmetal 2 body, easily fought him off and rescued Silverbolt. {{storylink|Crossing the Rubicon}}

Later, during Megatron's final assault on the Ark, Blackarachnia would castrate Rattrap in an effort to reactivate the Ark. Seriously. {{storylink|Nemesis, Part 2}}

====''Beast Machines''====
'''Voice Actress:''' [[Venus Terzo]] (English), [[Ryōka Yuzuki]] (Japanese)

In Beast Machines, Blackarachnia was distraught and confused - she was locked out of her robot mode, back in her original body, all of her allies were gone, Silverbolt had vanished, and she was being attacked by what looked like [[Cybertronian]] guards. Unable to count on her Maximal allies, Blackarachnia fell back upon her Predecon notions of survival of the fittest and was notably more withdrawn and skeptical than at the end of the Beast Wars.

She had a relatively easy time adapting to her new technorganic form, but she was still frustrated by the loss of Silverbolt. When [[Thrust (BM)|Thrust]] saved her life, having strange recollections of doing so before, her mind was set - he was Silverbolt, mutated and made evil by Megatron.

Using some of the organic fluid from the Cybertronian core, she trapped Thrust in some of her webs and forced his inner personality out, begging for Silverbolt to answer. The reply was not quite what she was looking for.

[[Waspinator|"Doggie-bot not home!"]]

When [[Jetstorm]] attacked, he also was caught up in some of her organic goo, and his true personality came out, sweeping Blackarachnia in his arms. Silverbolt returned, but just for a moment. The goo vanished, and their Vehicon minds returned.

Later, Blackarachnia managed to force Jetstorm into a large pool of the organic goo, and his body began to change. Scanning a nearby vulture skeleton, he awoke in a new body.

Blackarachnia was startled by the change in him. Instead of the lovable chivalrous knight in shining armor, he was a brittle, haunted bot, tormented by the images of the evil deeds he did, and did by choice. Though he gave up on himself, she never did, urging Silverbolt to forgive his past.
Blackarachnia appeared through-out the Beast Wars Metals manga as a Predacon warrior, much as she did in the TV series. Unlike most characters, however, her design underwent the smallest change. While most characters got re-designs for laughs, the only change in Blackarachnia would appear that she's a bit smaller and "cuter".
*'''Blackarachnia''' (Deluxe, 1995)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''D-8'''

: Blackarachnia's original toy was a [[redeco]] of the [[Tarantulas]] mold, transforming into a rather generic-looking organic spider. It features a removable spring-loaded launcher hidden in its beast-mode abdomen; it nominally fires the "grappling hook" attached to its abdomen, but its front four beast-mode legs could also be removed and used as missiles.

: This was later reissued in Japan in more show accurate colors for the 10th Anniversary of Beast Wars. Head doesn't get a remold, though. How odd.

*'''Blackarachnia''' (Happy Meal Transmetal, 1997)

: Part of the second McDonalds ''Beast Wars'' Happy Meal pack-in, Blackarachnia's "[[Transmetal]]" form rather resembles some sort of dust mite more than a spider and the robot mode appears to have fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Has a ''very'' similar transformation to the earlier promotional figure [[Beetle]].

*'''Blackarachnia''' (Transmetal 2, 1999)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''C-48'''

: The Transmetal 2 version of Blackarachnia transforms into a large organic/mechincal monstrous spider, featuring a grappling hook, switching [[Faction symbols|faction symbols]], and a spin-kick action feature. This toy was initially hard to find at retail, as one of the toy's features, a piece of removable chest armor (no, really), was altered slightly, delaying later shipments.

: This mold was used to make the [[BotCon 2000]] [[exclusive]] [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]].

===Beast Machines===
*'''Blackarachnia''' (Deluxe, 2000)

: An early toy in the ''Beast Machines'' line, Blackarachnia transforms into a [[technorganic]] spider. In spider mode, squeezing its pedipalps together raised its central fangs; they were spring-loaded to release and lower, respectively.

: This mold was used to make [[Crystal Widow]].

*'''Blackarchnia''' (Happy Meal, 2000)
: Happy Meal Balckrachnia is a super-simplified version of her retail toy, with a coloration much closer to the [[Mainframe (company)|Mainframe]] CGI model.

*'''Blackwidow''' (Deluxe, 2005)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''BR-04'''

: Part of the Japanese Toys 'R' Us [[exclusive]] ''Beast Wars Returns'' series, this toy is a redeco of the orignial ''Beast Machines'' Blackarachnia in a more show-like maroon coloration.

===Universe===
*'''Blackarachnia''' (Deluxe, 2003)

: For ''[[Universe]]'', Blackarachnia returned as a [[Decepticon]], and as a redeco of the original ''Beast Machines'' figure. However, her forearms were mistakenly swapped, leaving her forearm "spikes" pointing up towards her biceps rather than down near her elbows.

: This mold (with the same swapped forearms error) was used to make [[Crystal Widow]].

===Unreleased===

[[Image:blackwidowwildrider.jpg|right|thumb|Honda wouldn't appreciate their car being hot, poisonous, and deadly.]]

: In 2004, a group of test-shots made their way onto ebay, among them a [[redeco]] of the original ''Beast Wars'' Tarantulas/Blackarachnia mold in black with silver spider-legs and salmon-colored robot parts. Later, Hasbro's official website checklist featured listings for two "Halloween Horrorcon Value Packs" that were to be Wal*Mart [[exclusive]]s... which also likely explains why they were cancelled. (Wal*Mart had taken a good half-dozen exclusives and released them more-or-less simultaneously, leading to a huge glut. A lot of other ''Transformers'' exclusives were cancelled during the ''Universe'' era.) One of the sets was "[[Leatherhide]] Vs. Blackarachnia"... and thus, the mystery spider was confirmed, as the other test-shots in that group lined up with the name listings given in the sets.

: In 2005, the mold used for ''[[Alternators]]'' [[Decepticharge]] was presented as an upcoming release for the Japanese ''Binaltech'' line. Though a bio and story chapter was written to accomodate it into the ''Binaltech'' fiction, it was ultimately dropped when the toy was put on indefinite haitus due to low line sales. A single Photoshoped promotional image was released of the item. It has not been revealed as to how the story would have dealt with this time-displaced character addition, and is unliekly to, as ''Binaltech'' author [[Hirofumi Ichikawa]] is unlikely to reveal confidential work-for-hire pieces, since he still works for Takara.
{{-}}
==Trivia==
[[Image:BL2.jpg|125px|right|thumb|She looks like Bludgeon in drag.]]

* Reportedly, Blackarachnia's show model was inspired by an Asian stripper at a club that some Mainframe folks had taken the modeler to only a few days prior as um... ''inspiration''.

* Blackarachnia's original Beast Wars card art has her wearing a spike-studded collar. Dirty girl. Dirty, dirty girl.

* Even though Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia's toy had a unique faction-switching [[spark crystal]], the feature doesn't make sense in a fictional context. By that point in the Beast Wars television series, the Transmetal Driver had destroyed her Predacon [[shell program]], making her fully Maximal. (Though, to be fair, it had happened mere moments previously.)

* Blackarachnia exhibited what appears to be telekinesis not long after gaining her Transmetal 2 form, levitating a steel girder to stop Rampage.{{storylink|Master Blaster}} The ability only appeared once and was never explained. Fans speculate it may be a result of the TM2 Driver, an outgrowth of her psychic link with [[Tarantulas]], or both (or a wizard did it). Following her reformatting in ''Beast Machines'', Blackarachnia no longer possessed this ability.

*In the jovial Japanese dub of Beast Wars, Blackarachnia's character underwent a few small (depending on your point of view) changes. Firstly, she had a voice that can only be described as "bipolar". She would switch between her usual sultry, flirtatious voice to a screaming blood-thirsty maniac at the drop of a hat. Another notable change is that, while still a strong female character, she was made less independant and was occassionally prone to crying for help from her Predacon cohorts, something she ''never'' did in the English version. However, this isn't the first time the Japanese have done their best to [[Arcee (G1)#The Headmasters|improve upon a female character]].
A sultry femme fatale, '''Blackarachnia''' is smart, sexy, and dangerous. She's got eight legs, and she knows how to use them. Always looking out for Number One, Blackarachnia values her independence and freedom above all else. She would rather be deactivated than be a slave.

Blackarachnia made herself renowned among the ranks of both the Maximals and Predacons as a severe headache to Megatron. When Tarantulas found out about the [[Vok]], he tried to craft a stasis pod escape ship for himself, and she was there to forge a partnership {{storylink|Spider's Game}}. When [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]] and Blackarachnia journeyed to the island, she was there to shove him out of the way and take control of the island herself, only defeated by [[Tigatron]] {{storylink|The Trigger, Part 1}}. When [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] took control of [[Waspinator]]'s body, she was right next to him when he betrayed Megatron, betraying Starscream ''back'' {{storylink|Possession}}. When she aided Tarantulas in breaking into the ''Axalon'' to acquire a stasis pod for conversion into an escape ship, she took over after a following Inferno incapacitated Tarantulas, intending to take the ship for herself. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 1}} Unfortunately for her, this deception backfired on her in the form of a forced mind link between her and Tarantulas, which remained until she forced the spider into breaking it. {{storylink|Tangled Web}} When Tarantulas forced her to investigate Megatron's [[Golden Disk]] backups, she waited until Tarantulas was occupied to download and encrypt the recoverable information. {{storylink|Coming of the Fuzors, Part 2}}

[[Image:Blackarachnia_fightback.jpg|right|thumb|Spousal abuse!]]

When the Vok were moments away from returning, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia both again teamed up in an attempt to flee the dying planet. Megatron, already aware of the next move, used their deceptive tendencies against them, and acted unaware of their treachery. As they built their escape ship, he installed his own variant on the design, making it unescapable once sealed and in space. Though it did not destroy either of them, the result was even better: [[Optimus Primal]] wound up in the pod and was destroyed instead. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 2}} Blackarachnia's wits saved her, as she convinced Megatron that he would need soldiers, which gave him reason to spare her life. {{storylink|Aftermath}}

When an energon blast sent her and Silverbolt into the middle of the dense jungles, they were forced to work together. Blackarachnia, though attracted to him, was endlessly frustrated by his seemingly idiotic chivalry and need to treat her special. Megatron, listening in to their commlink chatter, was disgusted by the obvious romance going on. Blackarachnia, though she held it under a firm charade of bitter irritation, rather liked the treatment and affection. {{storylink|Bad Spark}}

Blackarachnia used the Ark's security system to cover Megatron's back, not sure of what he was planning. Once he fired upon [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], history began to change, wiping out all Maximals...which included herself. Not willing to die for Megatron, she activated [[Teletraan-1]]'s security nets to force Megatron off the ship. With Silverbolt's help, they got the dying Autobot leader under life support and begun the repairs. The Maximals, recognizing what she had done, reluctantly allowed her to join their ranks. {{storylink|Optimal Situation}}

Distraught, Silverbolt took off to avenge her death. He easily subdued Tarantulas, and was moments away from executing him when [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] attacked him. Blackarachnia, with her new and improved Transmetal 2 body, easily fought him off and rescued Silverbolt. {{storylink|Crossing the Rubicon}}

Later, during Megatron's final assault on the Ark, Blackarachnia would castrate Rattrap in an effort to reactivate the Ark. Seriously. {{storylink|Nemesis Part 2}}

===Beast Machines===

===Universe===

===Unreleased===

==Trivia==

[[Image:Blackarachnia_fightback.jpg|right|thumb|Spousal abuse!]]

When the Vok were moments away from returning, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia both again teamed up in an attempt to flee the dying planet. Megatron, already aware of the next move, used their deceptive tendencies against them, and acted unaware of their treachery. As they built their escape ship, he installed his own variant on the design, making it unescapable once sealed and in space. Though it did not destroy either of them, the result was even better: [[Optimus Primal]] wound up in the pod and was destroyed instead. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 2}} Blackarachnia's wits saved her, as she convinced Megatron that he would need soldiers, which gave him reason to spare her life. {{storylink|Aftermath}}

When an energon blast sent her and Silverbolt into the middle of the dense jungles, they were forced to work together. Blackarachnia, though attracted to him, was endlessly frustrated by his seemingly idiotic chivalry and need to treat her special. Megatron, listening in to their commlink chatter, was disgusted by the obvious romance going on. Blackarachnia, though she held it under a firm charade of bitter irritation, rather liked the treatment and affection. {{storylink|Bad Spark}}

[[Image:BA_Silverbolt_Agenda3.jpg|left|thumb|I can walk, you know.]]

Blackarachnia used the Ark's security system to cover Megatron's back, not sure of what he was planning. Once he fired upon [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], history began to change, wiping out all Maximals...which included herself. Not willing to die for Megatron, she activated [[Teletraan-1]]'s security nets to force Megatron off the ship. With Silverbolt's help, they got the dying Autobot leader under life support and begun the repairs. The Maximals, recognizing what she had done, reluctantly allowed her to join their ranks. {{storylink|Optimal Situation}}

Distraught, Silverbolt took off to avenge her death. He easily subdued Tarantulas, and was moments away from executing him when [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] attacked him. Blackarachnia, with her new and improved Transmetal 2 body, easily fought him off and rescued Silverbolt. {{storylink|Crossing the Rubicon}}

===Beast Wars===

===Beast Machines===

===Universe===

===Unreleased===

==Trivia==

A security system Tarantulas installed had been triggered by her tampering with her core, and the only way to fix it was to cut the Predacon [[shell program]] loose. Reluctantly, she agreed. An attack on the Maximal base disrupted the attempt, and she was deactivated.

Distraught, Silverbolt took off to avenge her death. He easily subdued Tarantulas, and was moments away from executing him when [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] attacked him. Blackarachnia, with her new and improved Transmetal 2 body, easily fought him off and rescued Silverbolt. {{storylink|Crossing the Rubicon}}

She later castrated Rattrap in an attempt to save the Ark. {{storylink/Nemesis Pt 2}}

===Beast Wars===

===Beast Machines===

===Universe===

===Unreleased===

==Trivia==

'''Deathsaurus''' is a savage and cruel dictator, yet he's oddly fond of [[human]] children.

The Decepticon [[Emperor of Destruction]], he bears a bitter grudge against [[Autobot]] [[Supreme Commander]], [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]]. He prefers to lead his warriors from a distance, though engages in battle when necessary. Much like a Bond villain, he'll gladly tell you his plan before leaving you unsupervised in a delayed-result death trap. That said, he is ferociously powerful, and has come disturbingly close to victory on several occasions. He even pulled the trigger in an attack that would have killed a helpless Star Saber, only to find he'd transfered too much energy to his fortress and the damn gun didn't work. The guns designer was later found impaled on a church spire.

He commands the [[Decepticon Space City]]. Deathsaurus is a [[Breastforce]] warrior, meaning he has two detachable breastplates which can transform into the [[Tigerbreast]] and [[Eaglebreast]], respectively.

Years ago, striving to become the Decepticons' new [[Emperor of Destruction]], Deathsaurus created a gigantic battle fortress capable of destroying planets, but an attack by the young [[Autobot]] commander [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]] saw the fortress de-powered and trapped within a region of space known as the [[Dark Nebula]]. This began the enmity between Star Saber and Deathsaurus, and as both combatants rose through the ranks of their respective armies, Deathsaurus vowed to eventually liberate his fortress and use it to destroy Star Saber.

[[Image:Deszaras1.jpg|left|thumb|Only way I could be more evil would be with a twisty [[Mustache Man|mustache]].]]

After the conclusion of the [[Masterforce|Masterforce war]] on Earth, Deathsaurus set his sights on the planet's vast energy sources, and, from his command post on the Decepticons' starcraft the [[Thunder Arrow]], he directed his troops, the [[Breastforce]] and [[Dinoforce]] in attacks on the planet. Deathsaurus rarely dirtied his own hands, entering battle only rarely, and only when there was a chance that he could confront Star Saber directly, such as there was when he led the Breastforce in raiding the electical energy of American subway systems. This led him to be the object of great contempt from Breastforce sub-leader [[Leozack]], who schemed against Deathsaurus, but systematically failed to succeed in his numerous ploys, either as a result of his own incompetence or the counter-scheming of his subordinate, [[Hellbat]], who sought to overthrow both him and Deathsaurus. Deathsaurus was no fool, however, and remained perpetually aware of Leozack's plans - when the time came, he thrashed the Breastforcer in combat and forced him to swear utter loyalty to him.

[[Image:DeathsaurusAnime1.jpg|right|thumb|Form Blazing Sword!]]

While Star Saber was on the planet [[Micro]], Deathsaurus returned to the Dark Nebula to investigate the possibility of reactivating his fortress; he did not have enough energy, but was at least able to confirm that the fortress was in functional order and could be reactivated when the time came. Unfortunately for him, having expended what energy he had to confirm this, he was unable to finish Star Saber when he engaged him in battle in space on the return trip. Later, back on Earth, Deathsaurus lured Star Saber into a trap in the desert, where he attacked with the power of the Living Metal-Destroying Cannon.
[[Image:A 2296.jpg|left|thumb|No, I do not want to change my long distance service]]
The weapon almost finished Star Saber off until [[Ginrai|God Ginrai]] intervened and was left at death's door instead, but when he was reconstructed as [[Victory Leo]] and combined with Star Saber to form [[Victory Saber]], they were able to thwart Deathsaurus's plan to bombard Earth with asteroids.

[[Image:Deszaras2.jpg|right|thumb|What is he overcompensating for, we wonder.]]

Discovering that the sunken continent of [[Atlantis]] contained enough raw energy to re-energise his fortress, Deathsaurus ransacked the ancient ruins and abandoned the Dinosaur Force to their fate as the Thunder Arrow shot off into space to fulfil his evil plan. With the fortress active and headed directly for Earth, even Victory Saber could not stand up to its power, but a resentful Dinosaur Force supplied information on the fortress's weak spot to Star Saber's adopted human son, [[Jan]], who used his own [[Illumina II|personal mech]] to enter the fortress and strike and this vulnerability. As he did so, Deathsaurus and Star Saber engaged in a vicious battle, during which Deathsaurus lost an eye, and was eventually stopped when Star Saber broke his sword off in the villain's chest. Gushing fuel and fluid, Deathsaurus vowed to have the last laugh as he set the crippled fortress on a collision course with Earth, and blew himself out an airlock, vowing to return again and again. But, as his body drifted off into space, no sign of life was visible from the conquered emperor. Victory Saber subsequently destroyed the fortress, but Deathsaurus was not heard from again.

===''Victory'' (manga)===
[[Image:Kingsaurus.jpg|left|thumb|The mighty King Zaras. Mighty.]]

As a parallel to Star Saber's adoption of [[Jan Minakaze|Jan]], Deathsaurus had a "son" of his own, a human boy named [[Solon]]. Solon's mother was killed during a Decepticon attack on Earth, and who Deathsaurus "adopted", turning him into a cyborg and raising him to believe that he was his son. Solon had frequent clashes with Jan, whose school he began attending, which often degenerated into "my dad can beat up your dad"-style arguments as their "fathers" battled. At one point, Deathsaurus even attempted to bribe Jan into joining the Decepticons with toys, games, candy and cash.

Solon had his own battle armour and often rode Deathsaurus's Breastars as steeds, but when Victory Leo and Star Saber merged into Victory Saber, Deathsaurus sought a way to increase his own power in a similar fashion and crafted a Transformer-sized mech for Solon named [[King Solon]], with which he was able to combine, forming [[King Zaras]]. However, in the midst of this battle, Solon discovered the truth about his mother, and his distraction allowed Victory Saber to destroy the King Solon mecha. Deathsaurus fled, abandoning Solon, who accepted his earthly heritage and joined the Autobots.

During the final battle, as Deathsaurus's fortress attacks the Earth, it is he who battles Star Saber in space ''(unlike the animated series, in which Liokaiser takes this role)''. Leozack, then, is able to take his treachery to the ultimate extreme by turning the fortress's power on Deathsaurus, and Deathsaurus cripples the craft with his cannon as Star Saber takes Leozack down. Then, the wounded Deathsaurus reveals the true reason he has quested to liberate the fortress from the Dark Nebula - it is home to the Decepticons' families and civilians. As the shocked Autobots discover this, they meet Deathsaurus's wife, [[Esmeryl]] and Deathsaurus and Star Saber then make peace, shaking hands and vowing to work together for the betterment of the Transformer race.
Using a clone lab on [[Ceti Alpha Seven]], Deathsaurus wished to revive the fading Decepticon Empire with a vast [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticon]] army. After the first batch of [[Virulent Clone|clones]] was completed, his operation was interrupted by a team of [[Autobot]] commandos under the command of [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]]. Deathsaurus overpowered and captured the first wave himself, and soon faced Ironhide one-on-one, while [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] attempted to rescue the fallen Autobots. Due to the assistance of Tripredacus Agent [[Flamewar]], these two were defeated and captured as well.

They woke up bound inside Deathsaurus' clone lab. The Emperor of Destruction appeared on a television screen, declaring that his use for the lab was completed and was prepared to detonate it remotely with the Autobots inside. Unfortunately for Deathsaurus, the Autobot espionage agent [[Ricochet (Timelines)|Ricochet]] not only freed the Autobots before the explosion occurred, but also seeded the remaining clones with a virus, leaving Deathsaurus with nothing to show for his work.
Deathsaurus' mold was originally a ten-changer, though the "gargoyle"/bat mode was neutered for this release due to the dropping of the bat snout piece. ==Trivia==
*Deathsaurus's name is the source of a long-lasting arguments. The phoenetic Japanese reading of the name is: "De-su-za-ra-su". This is represented in English on his toy packaging and tech specs as "Deszaras." English-speaking fans would long debate the "proper" Romanisation of the name, interpreting it as Deszaras, Deathsaurus, Death Czarus, Def Zarce, Deaths 'R' Us, Debt Source, Death's Arse and god knows what else. "Deathsaurus" had a tendency to be the most popular and well-known (on account of it actually ''meaning'' something), which led to it being used on the character's first official Western toy, making it his official American name. However, it is unlikely that this was supposed to be the actual name for the character - were his name "saurus", then it would be would be rendered as "za-u-ru-su" in Japanese, rather than "za-ra-su" - and that his name was genuinely intended to be the nonsense word, "Deszaras." The character appears with the "Deszaras" name on the R2 ''Transformers: Victory'' DVD boxset.
*His japanese name (Deszaras) is spelled really close to the Hungarian phrase for "So Sh*tty". This caused a lot of joy in the Hungarian fan community.
*While often called a dragon or occasionally a griffin (or a giant chicken), Deathsaurus is most likely styled after traditional Japanese "kaiju", such as [[Godzilla]] or Rodan.
*In Dreamwave's Transformers G1 (Ongoing) #10, Deathsaurus was seen as a statue representing an ancient transformer, together with [[Dai Atlas]]. {{Storylink|The Route of All Evil}}

:''Megatron is a [[Predacon]], a [[Vehicon]], and a [[Decepticon]] in the [[Beast Era]] portion of the [[Generation 1]] [[continuity family]]. He's a busy villain. Yessss.''

[[Image:Megatronbw.jpg|right|thumb|250px|Best. Megatron. Ever. Yessssss.]]

'''Megatron''' has one goal -- restoring glory and power to the Predacon race, with himself at the helm. What distinguishes Megatron from the countless others who share this goal is his chutzpah. He is willing to risk everything — time, space, himself — if need be.

Megatron is skillful at orchestrating vast schemes by manipulating others into doing them for him -- an idle suggestion here, a conspicuously-planted object of interest there. He knows his enemies inside and out and exactly how to provoke them. He has no friends, only pawns. Because of this attitude, this superiority complex, he despises working with the very troops he needs to carry out his plans. His hubris does not make him very popular, and so he must rely on power and fear to rule them.

Megatron is a gambler and can sometimes be a ham. (His manner of saying "Yesss..." is practically vaudevillian.) He has a twisted sense of humor and an over-developed sense of drama which rule everything he conceives, both long and short term. When he destroys you, he wants you to know that it was he who did this, and just how badly you were had. This is his greatest weakness. Like a Bond villain, he'll gladly boast to the hero at length about how smart and clever he was, giving his victim time to formulate a counterattack (he admits the Predacons sometimes gloat too much). He often sabotages himself by neglecting the quick and easy solutions for the bigger, meaner, and more complex.

Prior to the signing of the [[Pax Cybertronia]], Megatron was a field commander in the Predacon army, where he learned much about strategy and tactics. Upon ratification of peace with the [[Maximal Imperium]] most Predacons laid down their arms. Megatron refused and went rogue.
On planet [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], Megatron once disagreed with [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] over opinions on galactic conquest, and engaged him in battle over it. At the time, Megatron momentarily let his guard down, and was defeated. Galvatron declared "Your era is over, Megatron!"

Later, Megatron noted that while Galvatron was ambitious, he cared for his underlings - and although he was loathe to admit it, he acknowledged that Galvatron probably had all the regal bearing of a new [[Emperor of Destruction]]. {{storylink|Beast Wars II catalog}}
After stealing the [[Golden Disk]] ''(wrongly drawn as the [[Alien Disk]])'', Megatron broke into [[Vector Sigma]] along with [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] and reviewed historical files on many of the Autobots and Decepticons from the [[Generation 1]] era. He told Dinobot to refer to him henceforth as Megatron. {{storylink|Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye #8}}
On Cybertron, Megatron wore removable transformable armor, which transformed into a missile-launching armored platform, over his basic bodyframe (which transforms into a hovertank). This quickly-discarded outer shell was possibly used to comply with the ratification of the [[Pax Cybertronia]], which required Predacons to lay down their arms. A Predacon field commander before the peace, Megatron refused to comply with these new regulations and struck out on his own to destroy the [[Maximal Imperium]].

With some [[Cryotek|help]] from [[Divebomb (G1)|various sources]], he assembled a crew of ragtag criminals and miscreants for the purpose of stealing the Golden Disk and using it to find [[Earth]]. Succeeding in stealing the disk, he, [[Dinobot (BW)|his lieutenant]], and [[Scorponok (BW)|another accomplice]] fought their way out of the [[Archives]], eliminating [[Unit 1|one guard]] and dodging [[Tigatron|another]]. They were swiftly picked up by the ''[[Darksyde]]'', a ship stolen by the rest of their crew.

Megatron instructed [[Tarantulas]] to study the disk for the coordinates of Earth while the ''Darkside'' battled its several pursuers. Although they were followed by the Maximal ships [[Axalon (BW)|''Axalon'']] and the ''[[Chromia 10]]'', the ''Darksyde''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s mission was also aided by a third ship crewed by the Predacon agents [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]] and [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]]. Though the ''Chromia 10'' and the Predacon ship were destroyed, the ''Darksyde'' was still followed by the ''Axalon''. Megatron removed his transformable armor and patched a video feed through to the ''Axalon'''s captain, [[Optimus Primal]]. Declaring himself the leader of the Predacons, Megatron opened a [[transwarp]] portal through which both ships travelled. {{storylink|Dawn of Future's Past}}
After stealing the Maximal relic, the [[Golden Disk]], and [[Darksyde|a ship]], he and his crew were followed through a [[transwarp]] portal by the [[Axalon (BW)|''Axalon'']]. After crashing on a planet that was supposed to be [[Earth]], yet seemingly wasn't, both the [[Maximal]]s and the Predacons took organic beast forms to protect themselves against the massive amount of Energon radiation. Megatron now transformed into a purple ''Tyrannosaurus rex''.

Dinobot chastised Megatron, accusing him of leading the Predacons to the wrong planet and challenged Megatron for leadership of the Predacons. Megatron simply ignored the challenge and had Scorponok dispose of him. {{storylink|Beast Wars, Part 1}}

Despite the loss of a formidable crony, Megatron positioned himself on the new world and the "Beast Wars" began. Being on a world filled with Energon allowed [[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]] to find a superhorde, and power himself to great levels. With this power, Terrorsaur was able to demolish Megatron in battle and take over the Predacons. However, through the Maximals' actions, the superhorde was destroyed. Terrorsaur was eventually ridden of his newfound power and returned to an angered Megatron, who was rebuilt by [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]]. {{storylink|Power Surge}}

[[Image:Megatronbwtrex.jpg|150px|thumb|Ah, today is a beautiful day to be out stomping on things!]]
Again, Terrorsaur tried to usurp Megatron, this time using an apparently-turned [[Rattrap]], who used a device to paralyze Megatron. The Predacons argued over who would be leader, but agreed to put Rattrap and Megatron away for the time being. Megatron was able to easily escape using his secret voice commands, leaving Rattrap to his fate. Revealing himself to have escaped, Megatron allowed Terrorsaur to lead the Predacons in battle with the Maximals. Terrorsaur failed miserably, showing his ineptitude to the Predacons, which was Megatron's plan all along. {{storylink|Double Jeopardy}}

Megatron later formulated a plan to get off Earth. First, he had the other Predacons act dissatisfied with his leadership, causing a battle that apparently destroyed the Predacons, using a Maximal spy camera that he was aware of to play out the trick. Then, the Maximals scavenged the ''Darksyde'' for parts to repair the ''Axalon''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s stardrive. Dinobot discovered the deception and rushed to warn the leaving Maximals. In the scuffle, Megatron snuck aboard. In the ''Axalon'', he managed to knock out every Maximal on the ship but Rattrap, who he started crushing to death. An angered [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] woke up and threw Megatron off the ''Axalon''. However, Megatron's tail weapon was stuck in the console, causing the ''Axalon'' to crash. Again. {{storylink|Victory (Beast Wars episode)|Victory}}

Later, Megatron caught wind of the return of the [[Vok]] and called a ceasefire between the two factions, realizing he had more important things to worry about. The Vok did indeed return, and planned to destroy the planet the Transformers were on with their massive [[Planet Buster]] (cleverly disguised as the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]]). Optimus Primal managed to stop the planet buster after flying close to it within a modified stasis pod. Megatron added a little surprise for Primal within the pod, though; locking the door so that Primal could not escape and was destroyed when the planet buster exploded. {{storylink|Other Voices}}

The [[quantum surge]] from the exploding planet buster bathed Megatron in quantum energies, upgrading him into a [[transmetal]]. Megatron quickly rallied his forces and attempted an all-out attack on the leader-less Maximals. Megatron and the Predacons took the upperhand in battle until a transmetal Optimus Primal (brought back online by [[Rhinox]]) saved the day. {{storylink|Coming of the Fuzors, Part 1}}

With both factions now aware that the planet they were stranded on was really prehistoric [[Earth]], Megatron was free to put his full plan into motion. Locating the crashed [[Ark]], Megatron attempted to alter history by assassinating the unconscious [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]. By doing so, he intended to ensure the defeat of the [[Autobot]]s and thus the victory of the [[Decepticon]]s and Predacons. (For unknown reasons, he showed no concern that such a drastic change to the timestream might erase his own existence.) {{storylink|The Agenda, Part 3}}

The Maximals managed to save Prime's life by having [[Teletraan-1]] repair his body while Optimus Primal kept his spark within his own structure, transforming his body into a more powerful form. The Maximals defeated Megatron and returned Prime's spark to its proper place. {{storylink|Optimal Situation}}

[[Image:Megatrontm2render.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Two Megatrons for the price of one.]]

Megatron was not to be outdone. He managed to sneak inside the Ark (which was now the new Maximal base) and take the spark of the original Megatron, seeking to replicate the effect Optimus Prime's spark had on Primal's body. He placed his namesake's spark within his body, transforming himself into a powerful dragon. With this newfound body, Megatron was able to give Optimus Primal a sound beating, until chased away by the entire Maximal group. {{Storylink|Master Blaster}}

Megatron's next evil scheme involved the legendary Decepticon battleship, the [[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]]. After finding the ship deep beneath the ocean, Megatron intended to pilot it back to the future and lay waste to the Maximals on Cybertron. {{storylink|Nemesis, Part 1}} First, however, he planned to annihilate the Ark on prehistoric Earth. Primal infiltrated the Nemesis and kept Megatron busy until Rhinox could fly a shuttlecraft through the bridge and take the Predacon out. The Nemesis crashed a second time and thus preserved history.

After returning the original Megatron's spark to its proper body, the Maximals headed back to Cybertron with the incarcerated Megatron shackled to the outside of their ship. {{Storylink|Nemesis, Part 2}}
Taking advantage of the [[Blasty Zone]] as a means of time travel (and apparently size-enhancer), Megatron journeyed to a point in history where the original Megatron had gone missing, leaving the [[Decepticon]]s without a leader. "Beast Megatron" took command of the Decepticons, leading them on a quest to collect a powerful element, [[solitarium]], from within the Earth. Beast Megatron's plans were quickly thwarted by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and a troop of time-displaced Autobots and Maximals, including [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]], [[Victory Leo]], [[Lio Convoy]] and Beast Megatron's arch nemesis, [[Optimus Primal]].

Beast Megatron later discovered a large deposit of solitarium beneath [[New York City]], and along with [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], [[Smokesniper]], [[Gigant Bomb]] and [[Wingstun]], laid waste to the Big Apple. The Autobots, accompanied by [[Reverse Convoy]], arrived and dealt with Beast Megatron's forces quickly. However, Reverse Convoy revealed himself to be the original Megatron in disguise and betrayed them. Now going by the name [[Megatron (G1)#Robot Masters (Japan-only)|Rebirth Megatron]], he teamed up with Beast Megatron and the pair made trouble for the Autobot commanders.
[[Image:Megatron for life.jpg|right|thumb|Whaddya mean, 'Triumph of the Will'?]]Breaking free from his constraints on the Autobot shuttle while it traveled through transwarp space, Megatron arrived back home on Cybertron well before the Maximals did. Using technology of his own devising and of [[Cryotek]]'s, he took over the entire planet, and stored the [[spark]] of every last inhabitant under his citadel. At some point in this period, Megatron became convinced that beast modes and other vestiges of the organic were an abomination that should be scoured from Cybertron, leaving only technological purity. (Whereas before he had seemed perfectly pleased with his dinosaur and dragon beast modes.) Additionally, Megatron seemed to have undergone a change. Gone was the ham who sought conquest for the sake of glory and power. He now spoke as if a god, almost reminicent of his quotes from the Covenant of Primus. His actions were based not on the thirst for revenge on Maximals but in hopes of becoming a grand liberator for their kind. in addition where as recently as the final battle of the beast wars, he would flatten a subordinate for even mentioning "the H word" he now would keep his word even at the risk of future losses. This was a new and even madder Megatron.

When the Maximals arrived in their shuttle, they found the planet empty aside from countless [[Vehicon|mindless drones]] controlled by Megatron. Megatron's drones immediately bombarded the Maximals with [[devolving gas]] to revert their powerful [[Transmetal]] bodies to normal beast mode bodies, and they were also affected by a [[transformation lock]] virus which Megatron had used to help him conquer the planet in the first place.

Despite his best efforts, the Maximals escaped, and learned to transform again after Primal used the [[Oracle]]'s power to [[reformatting|reformat]] them. They began making short work of his Vehicons, so he removed three sparks from his collection to create [[Vehicon general]]s which could think on their feet in battle. For the generals he chose sparks of Transformers that the Maximals already knew, such that if they ever discovered the sparks' identities, they would be reluctant to destroy them: [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]] became [[Jetstorm (BM)|Jetstorm]], [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] became [[Tankor]], and [[Waspinator]] became [[Thrust (BM)|Thrust]]. After Jetstorm was reformated into Silverbolt and Rhinox reawakened and destroyed, Megatron used the sparks of [[Obsidian (BM)|Obsidian]] and [[Strika]] to replace them.

However, Megatron still retained his own beast mode, unwilling to take the momentary risk of transfering his spark to a new body. After releasing the energies of the [[Key to Vector Sigma]] and the [[Plasma Energy Chamber]], Megatron attempted to transfer his spark to another body, but wound of stuck in [[Savage/Noble]], a purely organic creature. Eventually, Megatron would transfer his spark to the [[Grand Mal]], a vessel shaped in his own head. He attempted to consume the captured sparks, but [[Nightscream]] managed to depolarize his spark, causing it to jump between discarded shells and attack everyone in a zombie like fashion. Rattrap would use a [[spark extractor]] to repolarize his spark, allowing Megatron to regain his senses, but trapping him in a [[Diagnostic Drone]].

Ultimately, Megatron succeeded in capturing the sparks of all the Maximals, leaving just Optimus Primal and himself as the only two Transformers on the entire planet. At the end of a fierce one-on-one fight, in which Megatron wore a copy of the powerful Optimal Optimus body, Megatron began consuming his amassed sparks, growing ever more powerful. However, when he attempted to use the [[Key to Vector Sigma]] to transform the planet's [[organic core]] into [[technomatter]], Primal managed to dislodge them both. They plummeted into the planet's goopy core and, somehow, Primal was able to reformat the entire planet, destroying himself and Megatron completely, but freeing all the lost sparks to repopulate their newly redecorated planet.
Both Megatron and Optimus Primal awoke inside a bizarre temple-like spaceship which was hurtling through space. Neither had any memory of who they were or how they got there, only their own names and a feeling of discomfort between one another. The pair went about investigating the ship in search of answers. While Megatron's memory was lost, his personality remained mostly intact: he was more concerned with sezing control of the ship before Primal did in order to gain the upper hand.

They eventually found a data log and discovered that their sparks had been taken and they were reborn into new bodies (unbeknownst to them, bodies identical to their original forms). However, their memories were intentionally not uploaded into their new bodies. While searching the log they discovered that the ship's main power source was a [[Golden Disk]] lodged within a giant pillar. Megatron immediately raced to obtain the Disk and Primal followed him. The closer they got to the disk the more the ship attempted to thwart their advance by manipulating its atmosphere conditions.

Once they reached the chamber the ship's environment suddenly morphed to that of a decaying planet littered with the corpses of robots. The corpses came to life and began shambling toward them, intent on eating their sparks. They made short work of the zombies, leaving Megatron to obtain the Golden Disk and Primal with a feeling that he shouldn't entirely trust Megatron.

From another dimension beyond time and space, [[Primus]] recognized that something was amiss and sent one of his messengers to meet Primal and Megatron within the spaceship.

====''Universe''====
When [[Optimus Primal (BW)|Optimus Primal]]'s spark is revived from the within the Matrix to protect the multiverse, this action freed Megatron's spark as well. The reborn Megatron returned to the ranks of the Predacons, but this time, Optimus Primal found himself in an uneasy alliance with him against Unicron. Megatron traveled with his old nemesis from universe to universe, wherever the growing multiversal conflict had spread. But now with Unicron disappeared into the [[Unicron Singularity]], it remains to be seen whether Megatron's insane ambition will resurface.

Prior to the Universe Conflict an alternate dimension's Megatron was killed by a [[Razorclaw (Universe)|Tigerhawk]] who was corrupted by the Vok. Yet another dimension's Megatron was killed by it's realities [[Obsidian (Universe)|Obsidian]] and [[Tankor (Universe Decepticon)|Tankor]]. All three Megatron-murderers were eventualy promoted to the rank of [[Unicron's General]]. It seems that killing Megatron may be part of Unicron's criteria for choosing a General.
==Toys==
===Beast Wars===
* '''Optimus Primal vs. Megatron''' (Basic 2-pack, 1996)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''D-6'''

: The initial version of ''Beast Wars'' Megatron transformed into a green alligator. He was only availble in this two pack with the bat version of Optimus Primal.

* '''Megatron''' (Ultra, 1996)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''D-1'''

[[Image:Bwmegatron_toy.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Don't call him Barney.]]

: This Megatron transformed into a purple organic Tyrannosaurus dinosaur. He has limited articulation in beast mode, but his dinosaur head can shoot water. In robot mode, he has no hands, as his right arm ends with his dino head, and his tail, folded into a pincer, forms his left arm. The outer shells of his dinosaur thighs conceal spring-loaded missile launchers that fire anchor-shaped projectiles.

: His robot head feature two bat-like wing adornments that fold to become a battlemask.

: This mold was also used to make [[Beast_Machines|Beast Machines]] [[Dinobot_(BM)|Dinobots]] [[T-Wrecks]].

{{-}}

*'''Convobat vs Megaligator''' (Basic 2-pack, 1997)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''S-1'''

:This figure is a purple [[redeco]] of Megatron's Gator form, and was sold with a red and blue redeco of Bat Primal. This may or may not be intended to be the same character as Megatron or G1 Megatron.

* '''Megatron''' (Transmetal Mega, 1998)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''D-40'''

[[Image:BW_Megatron_Transmetal.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Ducky not included.]]

: The third ''Beast Wars'' Megatron toy transformed into a mechanical Tyrannosaurus. In beast mode he has some useful articulation, located in his legs, jaw and tail. As with all ''Transmetal'' toys, he has a 'third' vehicle mode, in this case a tyrannosaurus with rollerskates (which flipout from his legs) and jet engines on the sides on upper thighs.

: Really.

:In robot mode, he finally has two hands, with his tail becoming a flexible, segmented cutlass weapon, though it was depicted in most media as a new version of his main cannon. This cutlass/cannon weapon can be stored at his side on the connector piece it was attached to when it beast mode.

: There are some color differences between this the American and Japanese versions: the American had a light purple-ish glittery plastic for the beast-mode hands, tail, and skates while the Japanese had simple light gray instead. This mold was retooled used to make [[Armada]] [[Predacon_(Armada)|Predacon]].

* '''Megatron''' (Transmetal 2 Ultra, 1999)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''D-47'''

[[Image:BWdragonmegs_toy.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Don't call him Mushu, either.]]

: The final version of ''Beast Wars'' Megatron transformed into a mostly mechanical dragon, with articulation in his legs, little dragon arms and his flexible, rubber neck with vacuum metalised overlapping plates attached on top. The neck was flexible able to be controlled and locked into position by a small lever located at its base. Two projectiles stored in his wings can be fired from a spring-loaded launcher inside his dragon's mouth.

:In robot mode, Megatron resembles a winged demon, appropriate given his characterisation. His chest is dominated by a small cockpit with a control chair inside (see Trivia). Megatron's dragon neck and head replaces his left arm, with an additional missile launcher above his helmet.

: ''Transmetal 2'' Megatron has a third 'vehicle' mode, which appears to be an afterthought, as it basically involves the dragon sitting very low to the ground so the wheels mounted on the legs and body can make contact and roll.

:This mold was also used to make [[Robots in Disguise|''Robots in Disguise'']] [[Cryotek]].

===Beast Machines===
* '''Megatron''' (Mega, 2000)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''BR-05'''

[[Image:BMMegs_toy.jpg|left|thumb|165px|He's a flasher! Mangle!]]

: The first ''Beast Machines'' incarnation of Megatron is based on his ''Transmetal 2'' dragon form, but with ''Beast Machines'' design style at a lower price point. The result was a weak copy of the larger, much more detailed predecessor.

: Like his television counterpart, his wings can fold around himself to create the control armour/cloak.

{{-}}

* '''Megatron''' (McDonald's Happy Meal, 2000)
: Transforms from cloaked robot mode to a very weak dragon mode.

* '''Megatron''' (Kids' meal, 2000)

: The McDonald's Happy Meal Megatron was also released in Australia through the Red Rooster restaurant chain. Like the other three toys, it came in four color schemes. Strangely enough, the toy was labeled as "Nightscream" on the plastic baggy it came in.

* '''Beast Changer''' (Deluxe, 2001)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''BR-11'''

: A toy version of [[Savage/Noble_(BM)|Savage/Noble]], he transforms from a wolf-creature to a dragon creature, with no robot mode.

: It was later redecoed in show-accurate colours for the Japanese ''Beast Wars Returns'' toyline.

* '''Megahead Megatron''' (Beast Wars Returns, 2005)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''BR-12'''

: This is a Japanese-[[exclusive]] redeco of Robots in Disguise [[Megatron_(RID)|Megabolt Megatron]]. Megahead Megatron transforms into a head (its design based on the [[Grand Mal]] with scuttling spider-leg action, opening jaw for chip-eating action, and a hidden spring-loaded missile launcher in its mouth. In robot mode, the launcher swings over his head, placing a battle mask down over his face.

: '''Note:''' ''If one removes the toy's spider-legs in head mode, it fits into the head socket to the [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]] main body. Though this is likely unintented, it is pointed out here as an extra play feature.''

===Robot Masters===
* '''Beast Megatron''' (2004)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''RM-02'''

[[Image:24013-m.jpg|left|thumb|150px|"[[Dinobot (BW)|Utahraptor]], maybe in an alternate timeline I'm being less of a jerk right now, but that's just rampant speculation, okay?"]]

: Beast Megatron is a simplified version of the 1996 Ultra ''Beast Wars'' Megatron. Much smaller, it had a very similar transformation and had a sculpt resembling the television series CGI model, but a paint scheme similar to the original toy. He also came with a small laser rifle.

{{-}}

===Titanium Series===
* '''Beast Wars Megatron''' (3" Robot Master, 2006)

[[Image:Titanium_RM_BWMegatron.jpg|right|thumb|100px|"... my [[Rampage_(BW)|crazed crustacean]], do you realise what this [[Golden_Disk|means]]?"]]

: For the ''Titanium'' series, the initial 3" Megatron toy was based off his 1996 Ultra version. He's kind of squat.

===Beast Wars 10th Anniversary===

* '''Megatron''' (Beast Wars 10th Anniversary, 2006)

[[Image:BW_10th_Megatron.jpg|left|thumb|250px|"Grape-faces don't give up, they conquer!"]]

: For the 10th Anniversary of ''Beast Wars'', [[Hasbro]] created an all-new Deluxe-size tooling based mostly upon his original 1996 Tyrannosaurus form, but with technorganic detailing. When a [[Cyber Planet Key]] is inserted into his tail, it opens up to reveal a missile launcher.

: He is also packaged with a mini-comic-sized reprinting of [[IDW Publishing]]'s ''[[The Gathering]]'' #1, a small [[Darksyde|''Darksyde'']] ship figurine, and a [[Jungle Planet]] style Cyber Planet Key ''without'' a [[Cyber Key Code]] stamped on it. On its packaging, "Predacon" is misspelled as "Preadacon," but a sticker was placed over it with the proper spelling.

:This mold was [[redeco]]ed and released as [[Cybertron (toyline)|''Cybertron'']] [[Megatron_(Armada)|Megatron]]. It's worth noting that the scuplt for both BW10 leader toys were intentionally designed to blend in with the Jungle Planet aesthetic, "in case" they didn't get a Beast Wars Anniversary release (according to [[Aaron Archer]]'s statements at [[BotCon 2005]]).

* '''Optimus Primal vs. Megatron''' (Ultra 2-pack, 2006)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''BWR-01'''

[[Image:BW_Megatron_BWReborn.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Is it me, or does his tail-weapon-thing have teeth?]]

: For the 10th Anniversary of ''Beast Wars'', [[Takara]] retooled the original 1996 Ultra-sized Megatron toy, giving him a new head sculpt and a new paint scheme based upon the appearance of the CGI model used in the ''Beast Wars'' television series.

: The 1996 Ultra-sized Optimus Primal was also retooled and redecoed in the same manner.

: Both figures were released in the US later as a 2-pack Toys-R-Us exclusive.

*'''Megatron''' (Deluxe, 2007)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''TM-02'''

: A redeco of ''Robot Masters'' Megatron, with extensive paint details based upon the larger Ultra class ''Beast Wars Reborn'' reissue. He came packed with a DVD of an episode of the japanese ''Beast Wars'' dub.

==Merchandise==

==Trivia==

[[Image:BWRConcept35.jpg|right|170px|thumb|TM2 Megatron's control art. Look! Spark figure! Painful amounts of detail!]]

*Originally, ''Transmetal 2'' Megatron, along with [[Optimus_Primal|Optimal Optimus]] and [[Tigerhawk_(BW)|Tigerhawk]] were to have small driver-like figures sitting on control chairs located in cockpits on their bodies. These drivers were meant to represent their sparks. But [[Hasbro]] then later realized that kids might confuse these spark representations as drivers controlling the robots, so they were abandoned, but the cockpits remain.
: However, the spark pilot was eventually used in the Japanese release of [[Cryotek]].

*Throughout the series, Megatron seems to have a mild obsession with creating clones of Dinobot, as seen with the purely biological clone, the cyber raptors and Dinobot 2. Some people never know when to let a relationship go.

*The Japanese dub of Beast Wars chose to interject humor at every available opportunity. Due to this, Megatron's personality and character were taken on a complete U-turn. Instead of being a smooth and charismatic leader, he was a screaming maniac and a bumbling oaf. His most notable character-trait in Japan was that whenever he was fired-upon or startled he would let-out a high-pitched shriek like a '''[[Scorponok (BW)|little girl]]'''.''

*Megatron's initial basic Beast Wars toy is a [[retool]] of [[Iguanus (BW)|Iguanus]] with new alligator and robot heads, and no frill. The screw hole for the frill bracket remains. Both toys were released at roughly the same time.

*The concept art for the original Ultra class figure was largely the same, except in one minor difference: The left arm would have housed an open three clawed hand. The idea of that wouldn't be revisited until the 10th anniversary Deluxe Megatron.
