Tsk... McFeely here, at work, having just removed the newest issue of the Sourcebook from its box. They've included Transmutate, but coloured Transmetal Taratulas in his Fox Kids zombie colours instead of the proper ones, Silverbolt II has an eagle head ''for a head'' (Skywarp gets it right, even though he's drawn by Milkovich), Sonar is still a "she," and there's no index, so no mention of Artemis.
==Profile updates==
I'm probably going to be picking up the BW omnibus, and using the Sourcebook section to update the character profiles for a number of characters. Can I get a list of characters whose profiles in the sourcebook are too contradictory with other established fiction to successfully meld into the main profile. [[User:Eire]] 18.16 Aug 7 09 (UTC)
:Avoid the profiles for any of the Japanese-exclusive characters (Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo). They all had their personalities completely overhauled and in most cases don't even remotely resemble their original counterparts. Aside from that, the only Western Beast Wars character I recall the Sourcebook getting wrong was Ramulus. The errors section of this article can give you a pretty good idea of which characters Yee "overhauled", hence which ones to avoid.
::There's also [[Injector]] and [[Prowl II]], who we already went over. [[User:Interrobang|—Interrobang]] 20:04, 7 August 2009 (EDT)
==Possible Flaws in the article==
It says Bigmos got a two page and Blackarchnia only got one. I see the opposite in the Omnibus. Was it something that was later fixed or is this a flaw in the article? Also..I may've overlooked it, but one thing I noted that I don't see mentioned in the article: Megatron has an Alligator picture listed as his Transmetal 2 form (even thought in the bio it mentions the origional Dragon mode motif) and no pic is shown of his first one. I'd add it myself, but I'm not sure which part to do so.--[[User:Chipmonk328|Chipmonk328]]

Not sure when this was question was posed, but I noticed this too; I have the trade of the sourcebook which has Blackarachnia with a double-pager and Bigmos the standard single page. As for Megatron, I found this odd as well but I don't recall off the top of my head if it listed the alligator as his Transmetal 2 form or if it were simply there to show the initial form suggested for him. I think the Transmetal 2 mode would have been more appropriate to include, but I digress. There's a similar error with Iguanus, where it details his Transmetal 2 mode but lacks any pics of same.[[Special:Contributions/142.205.241.254|142.205.241.254]] 16:36, 2 November 2011 (EDT)
Mikaela learned how to fix cars from [[Colin Banes|her father]], a long-time car thief who has presumably been single for some time. When he couldn't find a babysitter, he'd bring young Mikaela along, and she learned his trade. She hid her automotive knowledge from her boyfriends, for fear that they will be insecure around a girl who knows more about cars than they do.

She went to school with Sam Witwicky since first grade, but had failed to notice him at all during that entire time. After a spat with her boyfriend [[Trent DeMarco|Trent]], she dumped him, and Sam gave her a ride home in his new car. When the car suffered engine trouble, she took a look at the engine and was very impressed with the layout. Sam was more impressed with her. After Sam drove her home, Mikaela asked him if he thought she was "shallow", to which Sam awkwardly replied that he thought that there was "more than meets the eye...with...you".

[[Image:Movie Mikaela Sam Frenzy.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Slasher film with a twist: Girl wields chainsaw against maniac alien monster!]]

The next day, Mikaela was having lunch with her friends when Sam passed by on his mother's bike, saying that his car was following him. Concerned, she followed him on her moped, but just as she caught up, Sam knocked her off. Angry, she demanded to know what his problem was...at which point [[Barricade (Movie)|a monster cop car]] came charging out from under the bridge where Sam had just been. Sam's Camaro knocked the monster down and then urged them to get in. After a hectic chase, the two teens arrived at a deserted chemical plant, where the Camaro [[Transformation|transformed]] into a [[Transformer|giant robot]]. However, the monster unleashed [[Frenzy (Movie)|a spastic abomination]] that went after Sam and pantsed him. Heading to an abandoned tool shed, Mikaela found a power saw and attacked the smaller robot, decapitating it. Mikaela then watched with trepidation as Sam tried to communicate with his now-bipedal car, learning that it could only speak through the radio and that it was an alien who had summoned others of its kind to [[Earth]]. Mikaela remained unsure about re-entering the vehicle, but then Sam asked her a simple question: "Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you wanna say you had the guts to get into the car?" Mikaela reluctantly agreed...unaware that the decapitated robot had slipped into her purse.

She still refused to sit in the driver's seat, as the car was driving, so Sam argued that since he had the only other seatbelt, she should sit in his lap. Safety first, after all. Mikaela agreed, then admitted that it was a smooth move on Sam's part. She then asked why the car turned back into a piece-of-crap Camaro if it was such a super-advanced robot. Insulted, the car forced the two teens out, only to return moments later as a sleek and shiny 2009 model. The car then took them to a local observatory, where they could see four meteors entering Earth's atmosphere. Mikaela instinctively reached for Sam's hand as this spectacle took place. The Camaro then brought them to an abandoned alley, where four more cars joined them, then transformed into robots. After inquiring Sam's identity, the lead robot introduced himself as [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], the [[Prime (rank)|leader]] of the [[Autobot]]s, a race of sentient robots from [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Prime introduced [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]], his first lieutenant; [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], his weapons expert; [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]], their medical officer (who revealed that Sam's pheromone levels indicated that he wanted to mate with Mikaela, something that embarrassed both teens); and identified the Camaro as Bumblebee, Sam's guardian. When Mikaela asked their intentions, Optimus explained their mission to find the [[AllSpark (Movie)|AllSpark]], the betrayal of [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and the [[Decepticon]]s, and how [[Archibald Witwicky]]'s [[glasses]] played a role in finding their target.

[[Image:Movie Mikaela Prime's hand.JPG|left|250px|thumb|Now THAT'S home delivery!]]

Heading to Sam's house, Mikaela was told to stay and watch the Autobots, though they eventually headed to Sam's backyard and proceeded to cause some havoc. Losing patience with Sam's inability to locate the glasses within a couple of minutes, Optimus gave Mikaela a boost up through Sam's window so she could help. Further difficulties arose when Ratchet accidentally hit some powerlines, causing a blackout. The blackout and their shuffling around attracted the unwanted attention of [[Ron Witwicky|the]] [[Judy Witwicky|parents]], and Mikaela hid before they came in. This led to some awkward conversation as Sam tried to explain what was going on, until Mikaela finally stood up, revealing her presence as a "a friend" of Sam's. This genuinely delighted his parents, and his mother rather awkwardly apologized for their family discussion. Mikaela commented that she thought Mrs. Witwicky was nice.

When [[Sector Seven]] forcibly detained Mikaela and Sam's family, [[Seymour Simmons|Agent Simmons]] revealed that she had a police record, confirmed that she was hot, and threatened her father's upcoming parole hearing. This strategy nearly made Mikaela cry...until Optimus Prime ripped off the roof of their SUV and demanded that the agents get out of the car and release the two teens. After the Autobots rescued the pair, Sam expressed misgivings about Mikaela's history. She huffily confided to him that her record stemmed from her refusal to turn her father over to the authorities. Sector Seven soon recaptured both teenagers (along with Bumblebee) and brought them to [[Hoover Dam]]. There Sam negotiated with Simmons to have Mikaela's criminal record expunged as part of his reward for helping Sector Seven with the information he had about the Transformers. Mikaela was pleased with and grateful for Sam's change in attitude toward her.

Inside Hoover Dam, the teens, along [[John Keller|Defense Secretary Keller]], [[Maggie Madsen|two]] [[Glen Whitmann|hackers]], and [[William Lennox|some]] [[Robert Epps|soldiers]], were shown the frozen body of [[Megatron (Movie)|N.B.E.-1]], which Sam and Mikaela recognized as Megatron, as well as a demonstration of the AllSpark. However, the robot hiding in Mikaela's purse had slipped away and contacted the other Decepticons. Sam, with some help from one of the soldiers, managed to convince Sector Seven to release Bumblebee, who reformatted the cube.

They group fled to [[Mission City]], soon joined by the Autobots. During the Decepticon attack at Mission City, Bumblebee was injured by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], and Mikaela strapped the injured Bumblebee to an abandoned tow truck. Sam told her to get Bumblebee (and herself) away from the battle, while he took the AllSpark to a building to be extracted by the military. They left, but Mikaela was soon overcome with guilt and frustration for having left. Looking at Bumblebee, the injured robot gave a simple nod, and Mikaela decided to go back. She drove the tow truck backwards through the battle while Bumblebee shot at [[Brawl (Movie)|the tank]], destroying the Decepticon.
Shortly after the battle of Mission City, Sam and Mikaela were watching Ratchet reattach Bumblebee's legs when [[Dispensor|the transformed Mountain Dew]] machine suddenly attacked Sam. Fortunately, Ratchet crushed the creature before it could cause further havoc. Examining the liquid from its remains, Ratchet warned his human friends about the dangers in weight gain and tooth decay that the substance could cause to them.
Two years after the battle of [[Mission City]], Mikaela was working at a garage, owned a bulldog named [[Bonecrusher (dog)|Bonecrusher]] and was tending to her recently bailed manchild of a father. Her relationship with Sam had complicated as neither had summoned the courage to say to one another "I ''love'' you." As Sam was packing for college, she called to announce that she was breaking up with him, mostly so she wouldn't have to say goodbye. Sam, however, had already gotten her a long-distance relationship kit, including a webcam. This convinced her not to dump him, though she was grossed out to learn that he offered to leave her his Mission City shirt. While they were talking, Sam discovered a shard of the [[AllSpark (Movie)|AllSpark]] in the preserved clothes he wore the day he destroyed it, and it brought his kitchen appliances to life. Mikaela arrived after [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] destroyed the [[Appliancebot]]s, and as Sam bid farewell to his car, she got changed in an effort to impress him into saying the magic words: unfortunately, as he left, he could only say that he ''adored'' her. She was then entrusted with the AllSpark fragment.

Mikaela got ready for her first webcam date with Sam, but he was absent, having been taken by his new roommates to a party. The day after, she got a call from Sam saying he had a nervous breakdown in class and was seeing [[Cyberglyphics]] everywhere, and asked her to bring the AllSpark fragment to him. Mikaela overheard noises and found a Decepticon named [[Wheelie (ROTF)|Wheelie]] trying to crack the safe with the shard in it. She grabbed him with a pair of tongs and burnt out his optic with a blowtorch before chaining him inside a box. She flew to [[Princeton University]] with Wheelie and the fragment, entering Sam's room to find symbols scribbled all over the walls, and [[Alice]] on top of Sam. Mikaela left, proclaiming their relationship was over. She burst back when she overheard struggling noises, as did [[Leo Spitz]], and found Sam being strangled by Alice's long mechanical tongue. Mikaela threw the box containing Wheelie at Alice, but she was too quick and ducked, making the box go through the window. Seeing the girl transform, she ran with Leo and her shrieking boyfriend into the library. Mikaela snapped at Sam for what had happened, but he protested he had not enjoyed Alice's seduction due to her unnatural strength. The organic Decepticon burst in, blasting at any movement the three of them made, eventually blowing a hole in the library wall. The trio broke into someone's car that Mikaela hotwired, with Leo complimenting on her skills, she got it started just in time to pin Alice to the hood and run the villainess into a lightpost before taking off and running over her.

[[Image:ROTFMegatronMikeala.jpg|thumb|300px|Megatron, her face is up there!]]

As they fled, [[Grindor (ROTF)|Grindor]] dropped a hook into Mikaela's car and dropped them at an abandoned factory. [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] sawed the car in half, and [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] raised his head up behind Mikaela. The resurrected and clearly vengeful commander threw Sam to the floor. Mikaela was distressed as Megatron grasped at him, professing his desire to kill him painfully, but he had work to do. [[Scalpel (ROTF)|Scalpel]] came, creating a projection of the symbols in Sam's mind, and decided to remove his brain. [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] and Bumblebee burst in, ending the experiment. Mikaela and Leo were driven away by Bumblebee, while Optimus took Sam to a forest where he sacrificed himself to protect the boy. Sam, Mikaela and Leo were driven to an abandoned factory by Bumblebee, [[Skids (ROTF)|Skids]] and [[Mudflap (ROTF)|Mudflap]], as [[The Fallen]] broadcast a demand for Sam's head.

Leo suggested they figure out Sam's hallucinations by meeting his online rival [[Robo-Warrior]], who turned out to be [[Seymour Simmons]], now working in a deli in [[New York City]]. Simmons was aggressive towards Sam and Mikaela, blaming them for the loss of his job, but was intrigued by his problems and revealed similar symbols had been spotted in ancient sites across the world, indicating Transformer activity. Mikaela decided to free Wheelie, who was in Bumblebee's trunk, promising not to harm him if he decoded the symbols. Wheelie recognized them as the language of the [[Dynasty of Primes]], but needed a [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seeker]] to read them. The group found their Seeker, [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]], at the Smithsonian. When Jetfire revealed he was once a Decepticon, Wheelie was pleased to understand one could defect, and humped Mikaela's leg in joy. Sam was disgusted, but she didn't mind, joking he was more faithful than her boyfriend.

Jetfire opened a [[space bridge]] that teleported himself, Sam, Mikaela, Leo, Simmons, Bumblebee and the Twins to [[Egypt]]. Mikaela landed on Leo's crotch. Jetfire explained nineteen thousand years ago, The Fallen built a [[star harvester]] on Earth, but the necessary component—the [[Matrix of Leadership]]-was taken and hidden in the [[Tomb of the Primes]]. Sam suggested the Matrix be used to resurrect Optimus, and found its remains in [[Petra]] after decoding the only clue. Returning to the [[pyramid]]s of [[Egypt]],

[[Image:ROTF Mikaela victory hug.jpg|thumb|left|250px|Smile now, Mikaela, but what do you think it will take to get Sam to propose?]]

Mikaela ran with her boyfriend and dodged Decepticons left, right and center to bring the Matrix to Optimus. Despite a successful [[Operation: Firestorm|strike]] by the [[United States Air Force]], Megatron appeared and shot at Sam. As he drifted between life and death, Mikaela went out of control, finally proclaiming that she loved him. The [[spark]]s of the original [[Seven Primes]] came to Sam and revived him, and the Matrix was restored as they deemed him worthy of it. Optimus was restored, and defeated The Fallen. Mikaela and Sam cradled each other following the battle, as she slyly noted all it took for one of them to admit their feelings was an alien war. {{storylink|Revenge of the Fallen (film)}}
Mikaela broke up with Sam sometime after the second wave of Autobots refugees arrived on Earth, leaving him with [[Bonecrusher (dog)|Bonecrusher]], Wheelie and the diminutive newcomer [[Brains]]. Sometime later, when Wheelie expressed concern that Sam's new girlfriend [[Carly Spencer]] would dump him like Mikaela did, Brains commented that he didn't like Mikaela, as she was mean, but Sam rebutted that Carly was somebody who appreciated him for who he was.

After Sam and Carly had an argument over his deepening involvement in the latest Transformers crisis, his mother Judy was in disbelief that after breaking up with a "world class hottie" like Mikaela, he would then break up with Carly. ==Notes==
* In the ''real world'', Griffith Observatory is located within the city limits of Los Angeles, California. There's nothing that would explicitly contradict the possibility of it also being located there in the [[Transformers (2007)|movie]], <strike>although that would make it rather doubtful that [[Sam Witwicky]]'s home town of [[Tranquility]] is located in the state of Nevada, as claimed by various movie-related media (but not the movie itself).</strike> The observatory's distance from the dam given by Optimus Prime, 230 miles, matches up with its actual location in Los Angeles.
* The Griffith Observatory is the second most prominent landmark in LA, even more so than the [[Hollywood]] Sign and can be seen for miles from the West, South and East. It's illogical to assume that the large Autobots hanging out on the building's exterior would not be noticed by anyone of the few million residents of the Los Angeles area.
* Initially, the owners of Griffith Observatory were reluctant to allow the crew of ''Transformers'' to film there, as it was undergoing a major renovation at the time. However, they relented, as Susan Bay, a relative of director [[Michael Bay]], and her husband, [[Leonard Nimoy]], made substantial contributions to the funding of Griffith.<ref>According to Michael Bay on the ''Transformers'' DVD commentary.</ref>
[[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] and [[Spike Witwicky (G1)|Spike]] are surprised that the Quintessons seem to know so much, but the Quintessons end their discussion by trying their hand at interrogating Spike.

Elsewhere, Springer sets the Skuxxoid ship down. A badly injured Rodimus is mumbling Springer's name and that of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]], and Arcee believes that Rodimus is naming Springer as the new [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]]. Suddenly, Rodimus's [[Spark|life force]] disappears. Arcee assumes the worst, but Grimlock points out that the Matrix didn't appear, so he is still alive. As for Rodimus Prime's life force, it's going on a very trippy (yet poorly animated) journey through the Matrix, seeing [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]], [[It|a skull-like thing]], a few robots... and the Quintessons. Coming back online, Rodimus realizes that it was the Quintessons who kidnapped the others, not the Decepticons.

On Quintessa, Spike, Magnus, and Kup overpower their guards, taking a Quintesson judge named [[Deliberata]] hostage. When they confront the court, however, the Quintessons merely sentence him to die in the [[Sharkticon (G1)|Sharkticon]] tanks as well. The pit opens, plunging Spike and the Autobots into the pit along with Deliberata. The side of the pit opens, allowing the other Quintessons to watch. They like to watch.
[[Image:FFOD2 Scourge rescuing Galvatron.jpg|left|200px|thumb|Everyone out of the pool!]]

Heading to [[Thrull]], Cyclonus sends [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] to pull Galvatron from the plasma pool. Cyclonus and the [[Sweep]]s greet their leader, only to discover that he has been driven insane by the plasma baths. Galvatron immediately proceeds to lay the smackdown on his would-be rescuers, but Scourge, who speaks crazy, manages to talk him down. Galvatron declares that they have an empire to regain, and they depart, but not before Galvatron destroys Thrull.

[[Image:FFOD2 Sharkticon pit.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Sharkticon infested custard.]]

On Quintessa, as the Sharkticons begin to swarm in, Spike asks why they're being executed, and the Quintessons say that Spike is guilty of associating with the Autobots, who are guilty of theft. Magnus assumes that they are talking about the Decepticons, but the Quintessons point out that the Autobots inhabit Cybertron. Above, the Skuxxoid ship flies through the sky, only to be destroyed by the Quintessons' defense systems. However, the Autobots were not on board, instead arriving in Springer's [[Alternate mode|copter mode]]. The Quintesson tribunal flees Grimlock's would-be assault, while Springer pulls the others out of the Sharkticon tank. The [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbots]] arrive with their [[Autobot Fleet|escape ship]]. However, the Quintessons, obsessed with destroying the Matrix, detonate a [[core bomb]] on Quintessa. Safely in the distance, they watch their homeworld explode.
==Notes==
===Animation or technical glitches===
[[Image:Bigrumle.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Awww, little Rumble's all grown up!]]
* Apparently, AKOM ''never'' got any model sheet updates. Older character models used in the episode include:
** Grimlock, who has his early, flattened robot head design (not seen since Season 1!)
** Soundwave, who has a white backpack instead of blue (it was just barely visible in one or two shots in "[[The Core]]".)
* Rodimus Prime gets a new voice... or more correctly, an ''old'' one! Actor [[Ted Schwartz]] had been originally cast as Rodimus and recorded several episodes, but was then replaced by [[Dick Gautier]], who dubbed over all his lines for the finished, broadcast episodes. The "previously on" segment in this episode, however, is compiled using the original Schwartz audio! A single Schwartz-spoken line can also be heard in [[Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3|the next episode]].
** Gautier himself continues to voice Rodimus within the actual episode, though he lacks the super-bass modulation he had in Part 1.
* Rodimus also has a new gun! He toted a red gun in Part 1; here his weapon is light gray.
* Grimlock's dino mouth doesn't move for his "Me Grimlock no hurt" line.
* While walking with his fellow Decepticons, [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]] is as tall as [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]]. He should be barely half as tall. Breakdown should also be a head or so shorter. The mid-section of his left arm mostly disappears for a few frames as Grimlock shoots him.
* The Decepticon advance during Rodimus's "en masse" line contains all sorts of strangeness. "Rumble" has a totally redesigned chest, "Soundwave" has two windows like Optimus Prime as well as a face instead of a [[mouthplate]], and "Breakdown" has a new chest and a Dead End-like head. A mangled Wildrider is also half visible at the screen's edge. That, or AKOM for some reason drew a bunch of [[generic]]s, but colored them like the actual characters. ("Rumble" also briefly has the square panels on his shins flicker from yellow to white and back for a second.)
* Someone forgot that Onslaught was beat to hell at the end of last episode, battered and with a broken backpack gun. He's totally intact here. For that matter, ''none'' of the Deceptions are in the sorry physical state we saw them in last episode; their damage is never seen again.
* The claws that pick up Rodimus and Grimlock are shown emerging from a circular hatch. A few shots later, they're shown to be permanently attached to the outside of the ship.
* Cyclonus's jet windows aren't colored:
** As he turns from firing on the departing Rodimus on Chaar.
** As Galvatron bashes him away for the first time on Thrull.
** As Galvatron advises him to "Watch out for this one".
* The energon cubes are glowing in the whitish-yellowish style seen in very early episodes of Season 1, rather than the pink that was seen throughout Season 2 as well as in the previous episode.
* Kickback is standing with Dragstrip as Cyclonus prepares to leave Chaar. He's supposed to be dead.
* Four Sweeps fly off with Cyclonus, even though seven were in the shot immediately prior.
* The floatation beam of the head Quintesson judge is off-center.
* When Kup sasses the Quintessons by referring to himself as 'Cybertron's chief dishwasher', observe the Quintesson on the throne (the one closest to the screen). One of the faces is mouthing Kup, word for word! This seems to persist for the rest of the scene.
* During the "answer he suppresses" line, the Quintesson's faces all slide around on their bulb together. The animators probably meant this to be expressive, but it's really not clear that they should be able to move around at all.
* Magnus is in prison, but he's still got his shoulder missiles. Shouldn't he be disarmed? Shouldn't he have ''used'' them? ''For once?!?''
* Even ''after'' being savagely beaten by the Decepticons to the point of death, Rodimus' character model shows absolutely no signs of damage. This is even more unusual when you consider the ''extremely'' damaged condition of the Decepticons earlier in the episode.
* Arcee's lower helmet segment is colored the same rose pink as her face as she monitor's Rodimus's life force. It should be the same white as the rest of her helmet.
* Rodimus's spoiler centerpiece is yellow instead of orange as he sits up after his vision.
* Arcee's nose is missing its outlines in several shots on the asteroid. It's visible only by its shading.
* As Grimlock remembers rescuing Rodimus on Quintessa, his head is drawn too small (looking more like a lizard head than a T. Rex head).
* When Rodimus confirms that Grimlock saved his life on Quintessa, his helmet is drawn very...oddly.
* Weird technicality - When Kup is saying his lines ending with the words "Rush 'em and pray", his "ears" are bouncing up and down.
* In the previous episode, when [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] first learns of Galvatron's location, the lava pool where Galvatron was submerged appeared in a small crater. When Cyclonus actually does find Galvatron, the location not only seem different, but the crater has gotten larger as well. Finally, when [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] pulls Galvatron out, the lava pool is the size of a small lake.

[[Image:Springerfivefacescopter.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Lucky that Springer has a twenty-foot-high blade shaft.]]
* Is Magnus ''supposed'' to have little eyeballs drawn in the white circles on his waist? 'Cause they make it look like he has a cartoon face on his pelvis.
* Kup is drawn delivering Magnus's line "You're confusing us with Decepticons."
* The line "Carry out the executions" is shown, via cross-fade, to be delivered by two different Quint faces, even though it's spoken by a single voice.
* Judging by how the Autobots (and Sharkticons) are standing, the Sharkticon pool is maybe 3 feet deep.
* As the Sharkticons move in, Kup is shown bashing two of them. The shot changes, and the two Sharkticons are both gone, with a new one now moving in from a distance.
* Arcee's first shot makes its laser sound effect before its fired.
* The spatial physics of Springer carrying the other three Autobots is pretty much physically impossible.
* As Kup says to keep fighting, both he and the Sharkticon facing him are doing some kind of funk hoedown dance, but neither is actually fighting the other.
* Arcee's legs are colored gray throughout the rescue, when they're supposed to be white.
* During the "as they die" line, the Egyptian-looking Quintesson in the center of the shot has a gray forehead, instead of blue.
* Silverbolt is drawn [[scale|so huge]] in jet mode that the Autobots climb aboard him like humans boarding an actual SST. Now ''that'' is [[Size changing|mass shifting]]. Why did they even need a shuttle?

===Continuity errors===
* Grimlock and Rodimus's blasts have absolutely no effect on the Decepticons, despite them already being heavily damaged, low on fuel, and being fired upon from point blank range.
* Rodimus, you may not ''like'' being stomped ''en masse'', but that hardly makes your under-energized, weaponless attackers "cowards".
* Seriously, Grimlock? One of the biggest, baddest Autobots, subdued by a horde of half-dead Decepticons? What the hell? What happened to his fire breath, at least?
* After the Autobots retreat, Cyclonus just throws his gun away!
* Wait a minute. The Quintessons? The ''Quintessons''? You mean those guys who when we last saw them were seconds away from being massacred by their rebellious Sharkticon subjects? How are they not all dead?!
* Before his life force temporarily enters the Matrix, Rodimus says "My time in the light is short..." Arcee claims that's what Optimus Prime said when he was dying, but this never happened in the film. It ''did'' happen, however, in an early draft of the movie's script (dated to April 1985); to be precise, Prime said "My time in the light has ended..."
* Death-by-Sharkticon was pretty much instantaneous in ''The Transformers: The Movie''. Here, the Sharkticons just stand around staring at their quarry while everybody gabs on and on.
* Kup's question "Why do I feel like I've seen this before?" may speak to some faulty memory chips, since he ''has'' seen this ''exact same thing'' before, just a few weeks or months prior. If he's just being rhetorical, it's an odd choice of phrasing.
* The Quintesson that was sentenced along with Spike, Kup and Ultra Magnus vanishes after they take the plunge, at least until Rodimus makes an attempt to rescue them, where he is once again seen with them.
* Galvatron's claim that he is "more powerful than ever" is pretty questionable, considering that he is never again shown atomizing anybody like he did to Starscream. Then again, pretty much ''everything'' he claims is pretty questionable. He is, no kidding, fruitcake flapjacks ''crazy''.
* Broadside makes his bizarre "debut" in this episode, as his jet mode character model is used as the Autobots' rescue ship. It's not ''really'' him, though, as the ship is destroyed in the next episode. He would make an even more screwed up second debut in "[[The Killing Jar]]", serving as a ''Decepticon ship'', complete with a correctly-voiced speaking part.
* Silverbolt orders Slingshot to pull the others out, but it's Silverbolt who lands and carries them away.
* Fireflight was never given explicit orders to leave the ship, but is shown returning to it. Silverbolt, who ''did'' leave the ship, is ''not'' shown returning.

===Real-world references===
* ''[[Star Wars (film)|Star Wars]]'' sound effects:
** The Sweeps take off from Chaar, and later from Thrull (to escape Galvatron's onslaught) with the sound of the ''Millenium Falcon''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s engine burst noise (most likely flying past cam before landing on Yavin IV.)
** As Galvatron takes off from Thrull, a second Star Wars effect plays: this time the sound of the [[Death Star]]'s combined superlaser beam streaking towards Alderaan. The ''Millenium Falcon'' effect is recycled as Cyclonus and company follow their leader.
* The laser sound effect as the Autobot ship opens fire on the Quint gun emplacement is the same one used by the alien death rays in the original ''[[The War of the Worlds]]'' movie.<ref>[http://zobovor.tripod.com/five_faces_of_darkness_part_2_bloopers.html Zobovor's Bloopers list for "Five Faces of Darkness Part 2"]</ref>

===Other notes===
* After all the shadowy mystery surrounding the Quintessons' identity last episode, there's absolutely no drama to the reveal in this episode. We get an establishing shot of Quintessa, and then cut to the Quintessons interrogating Kup as if we were picking up from a commercial break or something.
* Despite "Five Faces of Darkness"'s reputation for horrific art, there are some decent moments here and there: the closeup of Vortex and Swindle; the Sharkticon fleeing from the exploding cannon.
* Galvatron takes a ''long time'' to transform to and from cannon mode when he leaves Thrull. The transformation speed returns to normal afterward. This is never explained.
