This eventually culminated in freeing Omega Supreme from the Decepticons and curing him of his Dark Energon infection. Gaining entry past the Omega Gate, they went into the depths of Cybertron in order to reach the Core where they aided the space slugs in not only clearing patches of Dark Energon crystals but also the defending Decepticons. Eventually, they reached the Core and killed the corrupted slug but the corruption had taken its toll on the Core. In order to preserve itself, it had to enter into a hibernation mode that would last for millions of years as a result of the Dark Energon infection which led to low quantities of Energon being produced that were insufficient for the current populace of the planet thus initiating a mass evacuvation of the inhabitants in order for them to survive. {{storylink|Transformers: War for Cybertron}}<br />
