:Metalhawk is an Autobot Pretender from the Super-God Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Metalhawk is the leader of the Autobot Pretenders. Like all great Autobot leaders, he's a warm, noble being with a great love of life, liberty and all of that, and like all those other great leaders, he also got his crew stranded on Earth when they pursued a group of Decepticons there during the Stone Age. Metalhawk was deeply moved by the burgeoning humanity: at first seeing only frail beings that needed defending, he soon came to realize their amazing potential for love, compassion and courage, and was so struck by them that he, and his fellow Autobots, used their Pretender powers to transform themselves into human beings. With the aid of these disguises, they defended early man against the Decepticon Pretenders, who had taken the forms of monsters. They eventually defeated and sealed away the villains, inspiring a few legends themselves in the process, and then went on to help guide the evolution of Earth's society and culture.

By the early 21st century, Metalhawk had adopted the simple human alias of Hawk, and now works as an astrophysicist at the observatory run by Professor Gō. He is close friends with both the professor, with whom he has entrusted the secret of his true identity, and with the professor's son Shūta, who looks up to him and aspires to be like him when he grows up.

Metalhawk transforms into a jet so fast that it can travel from Earth to the moon and back in only fifteen minutes. In robot mode, he has remarkable short-range leaping abilities, and is armed with the mighty Titanium Saber. His ultimate attack technique is the "Shining Arrow", which sees him leap into the air and charge his body with energy which he then rains down on his opponent in a hail of powerful bolts.
Having lived among humankind on Earth for epochs, Metalhawk was the natural choice to serve as protector of the planet when the Autobot forces operating in outer space received word of renewed Decepticon activity brewing on the planet from the former Decepticon, Sixshot. Unable to spare any troops to bolster Metalhawk's forces on Earth, the Autobots in space sent a cargo ship carrying six Transtectors to the planet instead, to which human beings could bond to become new Transformers themselves. Although three of the Transtectors were stolen en route by the Decepticons, Metalhawk safely received the rest, and stored them in the fortified base that Professor Gō had arranged the construction of. Birth! Headmaster Jrs

Some time later, Metalhawk was returning to the observatory after attending one of Shūta's soccer games with Professor Gō when he received a communiqué from fellow Autobot Diver informing him of a Decepticon attack on a cruise ship. Realizing that the villains had escaped their imprisonment at last, Metalhawk knew that the time had come to fight once again. Concerned for Shūta's safety, he elected to at last reveal his true identity to the boy, and told him the full story of the Pretenders' history on Earth. The next day, news of another Decepticon attack on a city reached Metalhawk, and he at last dropped his Pretender disguise, transforming back into his robotic form again and flying to the scene in jet mode. The Tentakil Seacons which confronted him were not particularly impressive opponents, but things took a turn for the worse when Shūta, who had followed Metalhawk to the battlefield, was captured by one of the creatures. Metalhawk was able to destroy one of the drones with his Titanium Saber, but as he moved on the second, the Decepticon Pretenders entered the fray and attacked the outnumbered Autobot. Luckily, the other Autobot Pretenders arrived to save Metalhawk, allow him to rescue Shūta and destroy the Seacon, prompting the Decepticons to flee. Rise Up!! Pretenders

While investigating Decepticon activity in the Karin Islands, Metalhawk battled Dauros and a swarm of Lobclaw Seacons. The fight, however, was witnessed by the islands' prince, Cab, who fled from the Autobot, and was followed by Shūta, who hoped to explain the situation. Calmed by Shūta, Cab tracked the Decepticons to the nearby "Isle of the Gods," and Metalhawk and the Autobots followed him there and successfully dispatched the Decepticons. Unfortunately, during their absence, Blood had attacked Professor Gō's observatory, and Metalhawk's team returned too late to save the professor's life. With his last breath, the professor handed the key to the base he had created to Shūta, and the Autobots took up residence there. Terror! The Decepticons' Manhunt

Seeking to capture Professor Blanieux, the prize-winning biologist from the Republic of Mont Porte, the Decepticons attacked a jumbo jet, which crashed in Corsica. Metalhawk headed out with the Autobots to investigate, and posed as a government investigator in order to question Minerva, daughter of Mont Porte's ambassador to Japan. After learning what they could from her, Metalhawk and the Autobots sped to Rome to quell an attack by the Decepticons' Destroids there, and then accompanied Minerva's family and Professor Blanieux on the last leg of their trip to Japan. Metalhawk's suspicions proved right, as Blood and some Overbite Seacons attacked the craft, and he and Phoenix engaged them in battle and defeated them. The true threat, however, was a Destroid planted aboard the plane, which was bested by Cab and Shūta, but not before it sent the jet into a nosedive. Metalhawk and Phoenix saved the jet by lifting it to safety on their own backs. The Autobots apologized for lying to Minerva, and she decided to attend the International School alongside Cab and Shūta. Kidnapping!? The Targeted Jumbo Jet

Seeing Shūta, Cab and Minerva's determination to aid the Autobot cause and battle the Decepticons, Metalhawk made them an offer to become true Autobot warriors. The three kids accepted and were bonded to the Transtectors sent by the space-faring Autobots, becoming Headmaster Juniors. Alas, the Decepticons had created their own Headmaster Juniors with the Transtectors they had stolen, and Metalhawk had to teach the Autobot Juniors to put rescuing humans before fighting their villainous counterparts. Shūta, in particular, had some trouble living up to the promise when all three Decepticon Juniors ganged up on him when he was attempting to save a baby from a burning building, but Metalhawk arrived to dispatch the three punks. Birth! Headmaster Jrs To prepare the Juniors for combat situations, Metalhawk then sent them to America to train with Diver, Rage!! Little Devils with No Need for Rules and when they returned, he led them and the other Autobots in defending Africa's wildlife against another Decepticon plot. {{storylink|Panic!

When two new Decepticons, the Godmaster brothers Hydra and Buster, attacked the Mt Fuji Foothills Hang Gliding Competition Tournament in which the Autobot Headmaster Juniors were participating, Metalhawk and Lander raced to aid their young team-mates, but took a severe beating from the powerful new warriors. After the villains withdrew upon the arrival of Phoenix, Super Warriors - The Godmaster Brothers Metalhawk examined videotaped footage of the battle and realized that the two Decepticons had incredible, instantaneous healing powers, proving his suspicion that they were neither Transformer nor human, but some new kind of lifeform. This information didn't offer the Autobots much of an advantage in their next battle with the Godmasters in the Karin Islands, but during that fight, Metalhawk was able to use his Shining Arrow attack to distract Buster, allowing Diver to lodge his Sea Axe in the Decepticon's arm, forcing the brothers to retreat. A Fierce Battle!! The Autobots Are in Trouble

When Diver recruited the first Autobot Godmaster, a trucker named Ginrai, in America, Metalhawk invited him to the Autobots' base in Japan where they studied the three sets of Master-Braces Ginrai had found in his Transtector. A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva After helping Minerva to reconcile her differences with Ginrai after she had an argument with him, Metalhawk joined in another battle against Hydra and Buster at Mount Yatsugatake Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!! and helped the other Autobots rescue a group of captive children from the Decepticons' clutches. Heroism!! The Birth of Super Ginrai

As summer settled in, Metalhawk permitted the Headmaster Juniors to take a vacation from their duties, but the two objectives soon dovetailed with the discovery of the next Autobot Godmaster, Lightfoot. Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter Metalhawk and the Juniors, together with Lander, Ginrai and Lightfoot went on a camping expedition into the Rocky Mountains to search for leads on the next Godmaster, ultimately discovering that he was a forest patrolman named Ranger. An Enemy? The Third Godmaster, Ranger Metalhawk thought the final Godmaster had been found when he misinterpreted a news report on Sixknight {{storylink|A Powerful Foe!!
Soon thereafter, word came from the Autobots in space that the Decepticon super-weapon, BlackZarak, was headed for Earth. Metalhawk, Diver and Lander met with their old comrade Grand Maximus atop a mountain, and were given the plans and materials necessary to construct "Godbomber", a drone that would merge with Ginrai, endowing him with the ability to fly and fight in space, allowing him to best BlackZarak before he reached the Earth. Life? Death? Lightfoot Must Choose Metalhawk elected to keep the construction of Godbomber secret from the Headmaster Juniors at first, but once this "Bomber Project" began in a British Motors factory donated by Lightfoot's father, he soon summoned them to the facility and told them the whole story. Super Ginrai Gets Blown Away in the Desert!? The course of the Bomber Project did not run smoothly, as the Decepticons badly injured Ginrai and attacked the facility, but through it all, Metalhawk remained at the forefront of construction, speeding the project to completion while his fellow Autobots handled the Decepticon threat. Will the Bomber Project Be Destroyed!? Although Godbomber was soon successfully completed, Metalhawk was unwilling to let the injured Ginrai combine with the drone, telling him that he could not save the Earth on his own. The support of the Pretenders and Headmaster Juniors drowned Metalhawk out, however, and Ginrai fused with Godbomber, speeding into space to battle BlackZarak and Overlord. God Ginrai - Into the Sky!! Like the other Autobots, Metalhawk was helpless to do anything but wait for updates on the battle down on Earth, but with the aid of Grand Maximus, Ginrai was able to triumph. God Ginrai - Showdown on the Surface of the Moon

Subsequently, Metalhawk and his fellow took something of a back seat as Ginrai and the other Autobots battled the Decepticons across the Earth, but his wits were not dulled by this period of inactivity, and he was quick to suspect Clouder, the newly-discovered final Autobot Godmaster, when he discovered that the main computer in the Autobot base had been tampered with. Although Minerva took the blame, Metalhawk could tell she was covering for her new friend, and his suspicions were soon proved correct when he caught Clouder handing over information on the base to the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors. Unfortunately, exposing Clouder's true nature as a Decepticon spy did not prevent the information he had stolen from making its way into the hands of the Decepticons, who soon launched a full-scale assault on the Autobot base. Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!! A missile strike on the base's control room knocked Metalhawk unconscious, leaving the Headmaster Juniors alone in the base. After hooking Metalhawk up to some medical equipment, Minerva advocated abandoning the base, and ultimately, the Autobots were forced to do just that, as the Decepticons' attack destroyed their headquarters. Disaster! The Autobot Base Explodes

In the wake of this disaster, things only got worse for the Autobots, as BlackZarak returned and successfully landed on Earth. Metalhawk arrived too late to save New York from the villain's wrath, and soon received word from Diver of an attack on Paris by Overlord, relaying news of the devastation to Lightfoot. BlackZarak - Destroyer from Space The battle that ensued carried the Godmasters and Headmaster Juniors into space, where BlackZarak unleashed the unholy Death Para-Machine upon the Earth. Metalhawk was stationed in a human observatory at the time, where the staff quickly deduced that the evil device had drastically eroded Earth's ozone layer. Thankfully, Ginrai was able to destroy the Death-Para Machine before any further damage could be done. Crisis! The Day of the Downfall of Humanity

Following a battle with the Decepticon Pretenders in Latin America, God Ginrai - Save Cancer!? Metalhawk got a bit more proactive, positioning sonar probes across the world in hopes of locating the Decepticon base. Unfortunately, while on a mission to recover one of the probes, Shūta was kidnapped by the Decepticons, and Metalhawk had to triangulate the location of the Decepticon base in order for Ginrai to rescue him. God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base With the location of the Decepticons' base now known to the Autobots, Metalhawk and the Pretenders hung back while the rest of their allies initiated an all-out attack on the villains' headquarters, which concluded with the base's destruction. The Ultimate Combination!! BlackZarak, the New Lifeform

With their headquarters destroyed, the Decepticons relocated to the Alps, and the Autobots pursued, splitting into teams to search for the villains. Metalhawk and the Headmaster Juniors were quickly attacked by King Poseidon, and Metalhawk was badly wounded saving Minerva from the Seacon combiner's blasts. Ginrai soon arrived to save them, but the injured quartet was forced to remain behind as Ginrai scaled the mountain to confront BlackZarak in final battle. {{storylink|Malevolent and Inhuman! Ginrai's fight, meanwhile, culminated with the destruction of BlackZarak and the Decepticon emperor, Devil Z. The death of Devil Z caused the humans to become separated from their Transtectors, while the Transtectors themselves were brought to life as true super-robot lifeforms. The new-born Transformers all promptly departed the Earth to rejoin their respective factions in space, but Metalhawk elected to remain on Earth and continue his life there. A Battle... and Then...
After escaping their imprisonment, the Decepticon Pretenders made their first attack on the modern world by laying siege to the Karin Islands. Metalhawk and Shūta responded to the attack, and Metalhawk stunned the assembled islanders by transforming from human form to robot mode. Easily evading Blood's "Bloody Moon" attack, Metalhawk dispatched the Decepticons with his Shining Arrow, and island elder Donq proceeded to lead the islanders in praising Metalhawk, recognizing him as a god from Karin Island mythology. Metalhawk attempted to explain that he wasn't a god, merely a Pretender, but the islanders continued to chant "Pretender" despite his protests. {{storylink|Gods? Devils?
Metalhawk and Shūta were accompanied back to Japan by the islands' prince, Cab, and the two boys, along with their schoolmate Minerva, all requested that Metalhawk allow them to become formal members of the Autobots. Metalhawk eventually capitulated, and after a tough training regimen, transformed the three youngsters into Headmaster Juniors. Their first battle, against a Lobclaw, did not go so well, and Metalhawk had to arrive to bail them out, admonishing them for a lack of teamwork. Headmaster Jrs Are Born

Responding to an attack by Blood on Tokyo, Metalhawk called on the Headmaster Juniors to perform rescue operations in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, Metalhawk did not realize that this was a trap laid by the Decepticons, and his young charges ran afoul of the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors. Thankfully, they were able to defeat them, and Metalhawk arrived in time to see the punks fleeing the scene. As the sun began to rise, Shūta and Cab groaned that it would soon be time for school, but Metalhawk calmed them down by pointing out it was Sunday. Destined Confrontation: The Children of Good and Evil

News of the discovery of the first Autobot Godmaster, Ginrai, in America soon reached Metalhawk, and he and the Headmaster Juniors gathered at Harumi Wharf to greet their new comrade when he arrived. Concerned by Ginrai's late arrival, Metalhawk contacted Diver, but was assured that everything would be fine, because Ginrai resembled a "hero". The four Autobots were soon attacked by the Decepticon Godmasters Hydra and Buster and Metalhawk was quickly taken down, but at that moment, Ginrai arrived, and Metalhawk understood Diver's words—for Ginrai was the very image of the legendary Optimus Prime. After Ginrai sent Hydra and Buster packing, Metalhawk wondered if Ginrai could be Prime's reincarnation, but Ginrai dismissed the notion, explaining that he had chosen to do this specifically because he had only one life to live, and wanted to use it in service of the forces of good. {{storylink|Enter on the Stage! Later, Metalhawk joined with the other Autobots in charging out to investigate a mysterious Decepticon plot, only to be stunned by the sight of Galvatron and a legion of legendary Decepticons barring their way. Metalhawk could immediately tell that something was off, since he knew that Galvatron was supposed to be dead, but after a battle with King Poseidon]], it was soon revealed that they had been duped with holographic images. {{storylink|Burn, Super Soul! Metalhawk and the Pretenders dropped off the radar after this battle, appearing only briefly to monitor a two-pronged attack by the Decepticons against Earth. God Ginrai's Amazing Super-God Combination! Fortunately for all concerned, they returned to the front lines during Ginrai's final battle with the Decepticons, during which the Decepticon emperor, Devil Z, turned on his subordinates, and attempted to absorb their Jinchōkon in order to transform himself into the ultimate lifeform. Metalhawk and the Pretenders hurled themselves into the path of the villain's Jinchōkon-absorbing beam, saving Ginrai and the Decepticons from its effects, and remaining unharmed themselves, since, as true robots, they possessed no Jinchōkon of their own. Metalhawk subsequently joined with all the other Autobots and Decepticons in combining their energies into the "Perfect Transform Attack", which destroyed Devil Z once and for all. With the alien's death, the humans were separated from their Transtectors, and the Transtectors themselves were brought to life as true super-robot lifeforms.
Minerva (ミネルバ Mineruba) is the daughter of Mont Porte’s ambassador to Japan, half-French on her mother's side, and a happy, charming, friendly, talented girl brimming with idealism and care for her fellow man. It’s that kind of idealism that makes a person want to join with the Autobots to "fight evil," but the reality of that desire turned out to be more than Minerva was prepared for. Minerva is very uncomfortable with violence, and being thrown into the heart of a war in which children, of all beings, are so casually made a part of the conflict leaves her struggling to rationalize her role as a warrior, even one on the side of good. As such, she usually refrains from entering battle herself unless circumstances absolutely demand it, instead operating as a battlefield medic and tending to the human victims of the Transformers' battles. In the final analysis, however, Minerva’s timidness leaves her simply treating the symptoms of the disease, rather than fighting the cause.

As an Autobot Headmaster Junior, Minerva is bonded to a Transtector from the planet Master, which takes the form of an emergency rescue vehicle. Using her Master-Braces, she can summon a suit of armor that enhances her physical strength, speed and reflexes, which allows her to transform into a head for her Transtector and function as a full-size Transformer robot armed with a paralyzing "Shock Gun". Outside of combat situations, Minerva is a much more easy-going girl. Clearly raised in an overly "traditional" manner befitting an ambassador's daughter and tutored in various "feminine skills", she is a talented dancer, painter, cook and medic, and has inherited the poise, grace and beauty of her mother, making her the object of many of her male teammates' affections. A word or two of praise from Minerva is enough to bring any Autobot out in a hot flush.
When the news came that her family was moving to Japan, Minerva was especially excited at the prospect of learning traditional Japanese dance, but she could never have guessed that the plane on which they flew would be attacked by the Decepticon Pretender, Blood, who was searching for Mont Porte’s prize-winning biologist, Professor Blanieux. Their jet crashed in Corsica, but Minerva and her family escaped with only minor injuries, and she was only too happy to talk to the "government investigators" who came to her in the hospital where her parents were being treated. In particular, the two young boys that accompanied the investigators, Shūta and Cab, were very taken with Minerva. The following day, when Professor Blanieux arrived to rendezvous with Minerva’s father before he and the family headed on to Japan, the investigators, Shūta and Cab accompanied them on their private jet for fear of any further Decepticon attacks. Blood did indeed strike at the plane, and to combat him, the investigators revealed that they were, in fact, the Autobot Pretenders. Although Minerva was initially angry with Shūta and Cab for lying to her, she was impressed with their bravery when the jet’s flight attendant turned out to be a Decepticon Destroid and they fought and incapacitated her. With the Decepticons' plan foiled, Shūta and Cab suggested that Minerva could join them in attending the International School, and she happily agreed. {{storylink|Kidnapping!?

Having seen the evil of the Decepticons firsthand, Minerva was only to happy to say yes when Autobot leader Metalhawk asked if she wanted to help the Autobots in their fight against them. At first, Hawk was unsure if she was up to the task, but Minerva obtained her parents' permission and assured Hawk that she was willing to spend her life saving the lives of others. Together with Shūta and Cab, Minerva was given Masterbraces and a Transtector and became a Headmaster Junior warrior. Birth! Headmaster Jrs

While training with Diver in America, however, Minerva displayed her lack of confidence with her new power, but was soon forced to face up to the responsibilities it carried when the Decepticons' Headmaster Juniors attacked a nearby city. Unable to summon the courage to join Shūta and Cab in the fight, Minerva was only galvanized into action when she saw a young girl become buried under rubble on news coverage of the battle. Racing into action without a second thought, Minerva followed the girl's dog to her side and rescued her, but tragedy then struck when Wilder killed the poor animal. Finally filled with the emotional fury that drove her to fight, Minerva transformed to robot mode and took out two of the three villains, forcing them to retreat. After the battle, Minerva helped the girl bury Pis and promised to buy her a new puppy just like him. Rage!! Little Devils with No Need for Rules

On a mission to Kenya, Minerva’s choice of ensemble definitely made the trip for Shūta and Cab, but it also left her quite open for a deadly scorpion sting. Thankfully, this was prevented by a well-timed shot from Mister Ricky. While the other Autobots battled the Decepticons in the area, Minerva put her medical talents to use treating an injured fawn for which Ricky was caring. Panic! Protect the Wild Animals!! Upon returning to Japan, the trio participated in the Mt Fuji Foothills Hang Gliding Competition Tournament, only for it to be attacked by the Decepticon Godmasters Buster and Hydra. Minerva treated the injured hang-gliders while the battle raged. Super Warriors - The Godmaster Brothers

Not long thereafter, the Autobots were joined by their own Godmaster, Ginrai, whom Minerva and the other Juniors were eager to meet. Ginrai: God On of Rage!! They arrived to welcome him at the harbour when he came to visit them, but during the drive back to the headquarters, the team was attacked by the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors, and Ginrai kidnapped Cancer for interrogation. Minerva attempted to make the boy’s imprisonment bearable, appalled by Ginrai's use of handcuffs. Even when Cancer shattered a glass of juice that she attempted to offer him, cutting her with the shards, she refused to let Shūta and Cab hurt him. When Ginrai threatened Cancer with physical force, she tried to stop him, but was ordered out of the room, so she watched the ensuing interrogation on a viewscreen. Learning what they needed from him, the Autobots released Cancer into the hands of Hydra and Buster, but Hydra immediately discovered a homing beacon on Cancer’s back and attacked the Autobots in retaliation. Buster seized Minerva and placed his blaster to her head, but surprisingly, Cancer snatched her away, begging the Godmasters not to kill anyone. The surprised Decepticons were overpowered by Ginrai and retreated, with Cancer shouting back that his act of kindness was simply payback for the drink. A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva

Worrying that Ginrai would hate her after her argument with him, Minerva went to Metalhawk with her concerns, and he encouraged her to talk it out with him. Heading out to join Ginrai, Shūta and Cab at a barbecue, Minerva arrived in time to overhear Ginrai praise her honesty, and she consequently plucked up the courage to join them and apologize, setting things right once more. She was subsequently with Ginrai when he discovered the trailer for his Transtector Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!! and was part of the battle when he unleashed its power against King Poseidon. During this fight, Minerva appealed to Cancer to abandon the Decepticons and join the Autobots, but she was struck down by Bullhorn before her words could sink in. Heroism!! The Birth of Super Ginrai

The Headmaster Juniors’ summer break coincided with the discovery of another Autobot Godmaster, Lightfoot, Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter and as such, they were able to accompany Ginrai, Metalhawk and Lander on their search for the next Godmaster, camping in the Rocky Mountains. While picking mushrooms, Minerva spotted a forest patrolman named Ranger talking with Bullhorn and immediately suspected he was a Decepticon, but was unable to tell the other Autobots when she returned to the camp and found Shūta and Cab fishing with him. When a storm lashed the campsite that night, the group took Ranger up on his offer of taking refuge in his cabin, where Minerva was able to tell her fellow Juniors her suspicions. She was soon proven wrong, however, when Ranger revealed a strange, glowing rock that he had discovered, which turned out to be a Transtector with which he then bonded, becoming the next Autobot Godmaster. An Enemy? The Third Godmaster, Ranger

When the Six Changer Sixknight arrived on Earth, allied himself with the Decepticons and challenged Ginrai to a duel, Minerva was among the spectators of the battle, but found herself playing a more important role when she was captured by Blood and Gilmer. The Pretender duo threatened her life in order to make Ginrai stand down, but Sixknight was enraged at their interference and forced them to let her go so that they could duel honourably. A Powerful Foe!! Sixknight the Wanderer Sixknight ultimately lost to Ginrai, but returned soon after, attempting to comprehend how he'd lost to a human. As he and Ginrai were in the middle of talking, the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors attacked a nearby city in order to draw the Autobots out, as part of a plan by Cancer to prove to his fellow Juniors that Minerva meant nothing to him. Sixknight responded to their attack with deadly force, and the horrified Minerva was forced to team up with Cancer’s little Decepticon buddy Browning to blind Sixknight with a smokescreen, allowing the Decepticon Juniors to escape. The Autobot Warrior, Sixknight?!

With the summer break coming to a close, Minerva joined Shūta and Cab on a trip to Cab’s home in the Karin Islands, where her beauty particularly struck Cab’s elderly guardian Donq. Minerva’s medical talents were required to help treat a sick friend of Cab’s named Copo, as all the local doctors had been kidnapped by the Decepticons as part of an outlandish plan, but the Autobots rescued them and all was set right. Save the Little Girl! The Chōjin Warriors, the Godmasters Crazy Decepticon plans were still the order of the day when the Juniors returned to school to hear stories of a mysterious fortune-teller on television who predicted disasters across the planet. Minerva dismissed it all as made-up nonsense, but had to eat her words when all the predictions came true and she and the other Juniors had to protect a town from a raging flood, only for it all to turn out to have been yet another Decepticon scheme. Expose the Decepticons' Dark Deception!

Soon thereafter, Minerva, Shūta and Cab were at last let in on a secret the other Autobots had been keeping from them: the "Bomber Project", a plan to construct a power-up drone known as "Godbomber" for Ginrai to help him fight BlackZarak, a mighty Decepticon presently approaching from space. Super Ginrai Gets Blown Away in the Desert!? Ginrai was subsequently injured by Overlord in a battle in the desert, and Minerva treated his wounds before he was admitted to a hospital. Will the Bomber Project Be Destroyed!? Ginrai was insistent on going through with the mission despite his injuries, so Minerva had Shūta and Cab spar with him a little to help him work through the pain. God Ginrai - Into the Sky!! Alas, the three Juniors and the other Autobots could do nothing but watch as Ginrai and Grand Maximus battled Overlord and BlackZarak on Earth’s moon, but in the end, the Autobots triumphed. God Ginrai - Showdown on the Surface of the Moon After he returned to Earth, Godbomber even revealed a new power, transforming into a robot that Minerva and the Juniors discovered they could combine their Chōkon Power to control. Destroy Godbomber!!

When the Autobots tracked the Decepticons down to an island in the Pacific, Minerva was injured by a blast from Overlord, but was suddenly swept up and carried to safety by a new robot named Clouder, who introduced himself as the final Godmaster. Appearance!! The Final Godmaster Minerva welcomed Clouder into the Autobot ranks and gave him a tour of their headquarters, even covering for him when his apparent curiosity led him to fiddle with the base computer. She dismissed Shūta and Cab’s suspicions of Clouder, but Hawk shared in the boys' doubts and trailed Clouder, proving that he was, in fact, a Decepticon spy. Unfortunately, this did little to help the Autobots, as the Decepticons soon attacked using the information Clouder had provided, while bombs he had planted in the base crippled its defences. The Juniors got a chance at a rematch in the Alps, where King Poseidon nearly cut Minerva in two before Metalhawk stepped in to rescue her. Ginrai arrived to defeat the combiner, but Metalhawk and the Juniors were badly wounded and forced to remain behind as Ginrai headed to the summit of the Matterhorn to face BlackZarak. Malevolent and Inhuman! The True Form of Devil Z Minerva used the time to take care of Metalhawk’s injuries, but soon, Ginrai and BlackZarak’s fight carried them down the mountain, where BlackZarak transformed into an even more powerful serpent mode. Minerva, Shūta and Cab could feel the burning energy of Ginrai, and all three Juniors found themselves transported into his chest cockpit, where their energies helped him destroy BlackZarak. His host destroyed, Devil Z raged impotently until Ginrai and the Juniors united every last drop of their power in the Final Fire Guts attack, which completely destroyed the arch-villain. In the aftermath of the battle, the Autobots were all immediately enveloped in a glow and transformed from robots back into their human forms. Minerva was the first to realize that their Masterbraces had disappeared, and moments later, the truth of the situation was revealed: the death of Devil Z had caused their bond to their Transtectors to be severed. Their Transtectors, however, all lived on, evolved into true super-robot lifeforms through the power of their bond. Minerva’s Transtector departed for space with all the others to carry on the fight against the Decepticons. A Battle... and Then...
Minerva was a schoolfriend of Shūta and Cab's, who joined them in begging Metalhawk to allow them to become members of the Autobots. After a period of intense training, the trio were given Master-Braces and Transtectors and became Headmaster Juniors, but didn't fare very well in their first battle against a Lobclaw. During a battle between Metalhawk and Blood in the dead of night, Hawk called upon the Juniors to provide rescue operations in the city. When news came from America of the discovery of the first Autobot Godmaster, Minerva and the other Autobots waited at the harbor for his arrival, only to be attacked by the Decepticon Godmasters, Buster and Hydra. Minerva and the Juniors accompanied Ginrai into battle aboard Godbomber for several further conflicts, including the recruitment of the final Godmaster, Clouder, who Minerva welcomed into the Autobot ranks with a big home-cooked meal. Decepticons' Great Counterattack! In the final battle against BlackZarak, now fused with Decepticon emperor Devil Z, the villain turned on his fellow Decepticons, leading them to unite with the Autobots in defeating him. Minerva, the daughter of a French mother and a Japanese father, was chosen out of the Japanese Self Defense Core to be part of Project: Transtector. For a while she piloted a battle armor suit fashioned from Transformer scrap found around the globe, until the project ended when most of its subjects collapsed under psychological stress. While traveling the universe, they set their ship down on the planet Azure for repairs. Regretting her involvement, Amory paid the Autobots for her services.
Her Shock Blasters plug in just above the vehicle's headlights, while her larger Shock Gun can be plugged onto the roof.

:In robot mode, Minerva's cockpit seat becomes a helmet, into which the small Shock Blasters plug as antennae. Like all Headmaster toys, Minerva has a flip-down panel on her chest which covers a spring-loaded mini-Tech-Spec-meter which gives readings for Speed, Strength and Intelligence. The tumblers are activated when Minerva (or any other Headmaster unit) is plugged into the neck socket. Minerva has her robot mode face plainly visible on her back because, as a smaller Headmaster toy, she lacks the flip down panel that covers the face featured on larger Headmasters.

:As noted above, Minerva shares a mold with the American Headmaster Nightbeat, but it is unclear which character came first in the design process.
Only available packaged with the the act's Metalhawk figurine, it was available in both full-color and metallic silver "pewter" versions, again at a ratio of one each per case of twelve. In eight out of every ten cases, the pewter version of the figures came packaged with the right arm of the BlackZarak "Build-A-Figure".
Notes
* Minerva's name is consistently mis-anglicized as "Minelba" in every English instance of the name on Japanese packaging and bio material. There is essentially no difference between the "L" and "R" sounds in Japanese, and at the time it was standard practice to substitute "ba" for the "va" sound (though this has changed in later years).

* According to her supplementary bio card, Minerva was 15 years old, making her the oldest Autobot Headmaster Junior.

* Minerva's precise nationality is a bit ambiguous. Her mother is stated to be French, but whether her ambassador father is Japanese or from the Republic of Mont Porte is not made explicitly clear in the cartoon. Her father is, at least, explained to be Mont Porte's ambassador to Japan, which would suggest he is a Mont Porte native, but some sources, including The Ark II, have claimed that he is Japanese (by way of describing Minerva as "half-French, half-Japanese").

* Although Minerva's Transtector doesn't have room to ferry patients like a real ambulance would (which is what it's referred to being as), it would qualify as a fly-car due to it having a faster response time to emergencies (and saving ambulance resources if the situation is minor).

* Minerva's living transtector was the only one of the Headmaster Junior trio to return in the Victory cartoon. Conversely, while Shūta and Cab returned in the pages of the Victory manga, Minerva did not beyond one flashback. According to writer Masumi Kaneda, the reason for this was because the manga would then have been "buried in female characters". There was, uh, all of one regular female character; the three others only briefly appeared in one issue. Of course, most of the boys ended up looking like girls, so...

* Minerva's color scheme was used for the DVD-exclusive "Minerva-Type" redeco of Cybertron Thunderblast. It made her look quite like Override.

{{storylink|Secret Orders!
Soon after, BlackZarak was able to reach the Earth, and the conflict took a step up as cities all over the world were targeted. When Cancer was buried in a pile of rubble during an attack on his home country of China, Minerva began to dig him out. Shūta and Cab were only to happy to let him rot until Ginrai ordered them to help. God Ginrai - Save Cancer!? At last convinced by this display of concern and respect, Cancer defected to the Autobots. God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base
When BlackZarak, now merged with Decepticon emperor Devil Z, threatened North American with his Devil Power from his staging point within the Grand Canyon, Minerva was part of a team along with Shūta, Cab and Ranger who were attacked by King Poseidon. Autobots! Desperate Attack!! A Battle... and Then...
After a period of intense training, the trio were given Master-Braces and Transtectors and became Headmaster Juniors, but didn't fare very well in their first battle against a Lobclaw. Minerva was first to fall to the Seacon, and Metalhawk had to leap in to bail them out. Headmaster Jrs Are Born

During a battle between Metalhawk and Blood in the dead of night, Hawk called upon the Juniors to provide rescue operations in the city. Minerva and Shūta had to silently sneak out of the International School dorms, and once they arrived on the scene, they were attacked by the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors. Although outmatched, they were able to overpower their foes when Cancer was distracted by some injured humans nearby, and with their enemies dispatched, Minerva dispensed first aid. Destined Confrontation: The Children of Good and Evil

When news came from America of the discovery of the first Autobot Godmaster, Minerva and the other Autobots waited at the harbor for his arrival, only to be attacked by the Decepticon Godmasters, Buster and Hydra. Ginrai arrived to save them, and Minerva and the Juniors became fast friends with him, {{storylink|Enter on the Stage!
The Juniors' relationship with Ginrai grew closer with the creation of Godbomber, a drone piloted by Minerva, Shūta and Cab that combined with Ginrai and allowed him to defeat Overlord and BlackZarak. God Ginrai's Amazing Super-God Combination! When Shūta and Cab were captured by the Decepticons, however, Minerva had to pilot Godbomber alone and crashed it through the walls of Overlord's base mode in order to save her friends. As their injuries were bandaged back at the Autobot base, Minerva was embarrassed by the two boys' jokes about how she was like a mother to them. The Earth Family of Good and Evil

Minerva and all the other Transformers united their energies in the “Perfect Transformer Attack,” which obliterated both villains. The death of Devil Z caused the bond between the humans and their Transtectors to be broken, and Minerva became a normal kid again as her now-living Transtector and those of all the other Autobots headed into space to continue the fight against the Decepticons. The Birth of the Super Lifeforms

Minerva survived seemingly unscathed, except for that one time she stole a starfighter and followed "visions" directly to the Autobot, Nightbeat, and began dating his head.

She ended up joining Muzzle and Nightbeat's team, which also included Siren and Quig, Lug, and the disgruntled Dinobots Sludge and Slag. While traveling the universe, they set their ship down on the planet Azure for repairs. If "setting the ship down for repairs" means "getting shot down in high orbit and crashing it into the only repair bay equipped to fix it".

Nightbeat found that he was a person of interest to a potential client, a sentient ship named Amory, but not before Minerva and the others battled her hired "thugs." Amory required the services of Nightbeat and his team in finding her pilot, Phyrion. Minerva and the other humans pored over the evidence, but they could find no lead. Ultimately, the entire arrangement was revealed to be a setup put together by the Decepticons Ruckus and Needlenose, who had assembled an alleged "new Mayhem Attack Squad" by promising payment to Octopunch and Stranglehold for their assistance. Ruckus wasn't very smart, however, and had brought his hostage with him. The Decepticons were brutalized and Phyrion was returned to Amory. Regretting her involvement, Amory paid the Autobots for her services.

Despite their short run-in with good luck, Minerva and the rest of the crew were still stranded on Azure without a working ship. In the meantime, surely someone was in need of a detective... Cheap Shots

:Minerva's Transtector is referred to as an ambulance, but let's be honest - it's a Porsche 959 with an emergency rescue color scheme that wouldn't likely be very useful in transporting patients around. The roof is hinged and can be opened to reveal an interior cockpit that Minerva herself can sit inside of; the prominent hinge itself is rather cleverly disguised as a lightbar, something that Minerva's American mold-partner, Nightbeat, lacks.

At first, Shūta Gō (剛 秀太 Gō Shūta) was part of a long-standing tradition, fulfilling the role of the Autobots enthusiastic young human ally. However, not long after the death of his father, Professor Gō, Shūta became something much more. Bonded to the Transtector from the planet Master, Shūta became Goshooter (ゴーシューター Gōshūtā), a Headmaster Junior and a true Autobot warrior, able to help his friends an allies in new, dangerous, but always exciting ways.

Whether in the form of a human or a Transformer, Shūta is always eager for new challenges and willing to jump into dangerous situations without hesitation... or thought, really. He means well, but he tends to leap before he looks, and his brain-mouth filter could use some work. A skilled soccer player, Shūta is close friends (and friendly rivals) with fellow Headmaster Junior Cab, and they both have a slight crush on their teammate Minerva.

Once upon a time, Shūta had a pretty normal life. He went to school, he did his homework, and he was friends with one of the scientists at his father's observatory research center, "Mr. Hawk," who trained him and helped him to improve his soccer skills. On the day that a cruise liner was sunk off the coast of Canada by two monstrous creatures, however, everything changed. Mr. Hawk revealed to Shūta that he was not from Earth—in truth, he was Metalhawk, leader of a secret cell of Autobot Pretenders who had long been protecting Earth in secret. The monstrous creatures were Decepticons, who had restarted their campaign against Earth, and Metalhawk and the Pretenders were forced to return to battle once more. Shūta followed Metalhawk into the nearby city on his motorcycle to watch him battle a Tentakil, but wound up trapped in the clutches on the slimy Seacon. With the help of his fellow Pretenders, Metalhawk defeated the Decepticons and rescued Shūta. Rise Up!! Pretenders

When news of a Decepticon attack on the Karin Islands reached the Autobots, Shūta convinced Metalhawk to allow him to go along. On the Karin Islands, he met the local prince, Cab, but their first encounter was a rough one, with Cab attacking Shūta because he thought he was a robot in disguise like the Pretenders. Once the misunderstanding was cleared up and the Decepticons were defeated, the two boys became quite friendly, and Cab decided to accompany Shūta and the Pretenders back to Japan. Upon their return, however, the group discover that Shūta's father's observatory had been attacked by the Decepticons, and Professor Go had been fatally wounded. The professor handed Shūta the key to the Autobots' new base and died before his son's eyes. Terror! The Decepticons' Manhunt

Shūta and Cab soon found something else to fight over when they met Minerva, a young girl from Mont Porte, while helping the Autobots to rescue the scientist Professor Blanieux from the Decepticons. Shūta and Cab proved instrumental in saving the professor, overpowering a Destroid that had been sent to capture him, and Minerva joined them in attending the International School. Kidnapping!? The Targeted Jumbo Jet

Not long thereafter, Shūta, Cab and Minerva's determination to help the Autobots in their fight prompted Metalhawk to make them a remarkable offer. Given Master-Braces, which enhanced their strength and reflexes with Chōkon Power, and Transtectors to which they could bond, the three kids became Headmaster Juniors and could now fight alongside the Autobots as true Transformer warriors. Shūta had to learn, however, that his powers were for rescuing innocents first and fighting Decepticons second. His first clash with the Decepticons' own team of Headmaster Juniors put his resolve to the test when he had to rescue a baby from a burning building without sinking to the Decepticon Juniors' level and fighting back. Metalhawk helped to take out the young punks, and Shūta saved the child, in the process learning the importance of putting the lives of others ahead of defeating his enemies. Birth! Headmaster Jrs

Despite learning this lesson, Shūta's new powers still made him a touch on the arrogant side, and a chewing-out from his soccer coach was soon followed by a trip to America to train with Diver. He and Cab mastered their teamwork fighting Seacons and the Decepticon Juniors again, Rage!! Little Devils with No Need for Rules and later on during their American vacation, Shūta was instrumental in rescuing a boy named Chris from Wilder. Go, Goshooter - Showdown in the Wasteland

Back in Japan, Shūta, Cab and Minerva enrolled in a hang-gliding contest, during which they came under attack from the newest addition to the Decepticon army, the Godmaster brothers, Hydra and Buster. Super Warriors - The Godmaster Brothers After a further altercation with the new villains in the Karin Islands, Shūta demanded to know why the Autobots did not have Godmasters of their own, {{storylink|A Fierce Battle!! Shūta and the Autobot Juniors travelled to America to meet their new comrade, Ginrai: God On of Rage!! and soon after, welcomed him to Japan when he came to visit the Autobot base. This also proved to be the first chance to battle alongside him, when they all tangled with the Decepticon Juniors and briefly captured Cancer. A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva Friendship came quickly between Ginrai and the Juniors, and Shūta gave him the grand tour of the Autobot base. {{storylink|Friend or Foe!? Summer got off to a rocky start when Shūta attempted to stop Cab from peeping on Minerva and the other female pupils during their swimming classes at school, Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter but once summer vacation set in, the team enjoyed a trip to the Rocky Mountains in Canada, where they met Ranger. {{storylink|An Enemy?

As the new school term began, a strange television program caught Shūta and Cab's attention when the mysterious fortuneteller featured on the show revealed the existence of the Autobots and Decepticons to the world. This was, of course, a Decepticon plot to turn Humanity against the Autobots, and Shūta and the Juniors did their part to help turn public opinion around by helping rescue people from a flood caused by the villains. Expose the Decepticons' Dark Deception!

Shūta and the other Juniors were left with little to do when the Autobots funnelled their resources into the "Bomber Project", aiming to create Godbomber, a drone that would give Ginrai the power to fly and fight in space to battle the approaching Decepticon super-weapon BlackZarak. After BlackZarak was repelled, however, the Juniors discovered that they too possessed a link with Godbomber and were able to control and transform it by uniting their Chōkon Power. Destroy Godbomber!!

Shūta tasted the bitterness of true defeat when the final Godmaster, Clouder, sided with the Decepticons and helped arrange an assault on the Autobot base. With only Shūta, his fellow Juniors and Metalhawk to protect it, the base was a lost cause, but Shūta refused to abandon his father's last great work. Nonetheless, the base was destroyed by the Decepticons' attack. Disaster! The Autobot Base Explodes

During a later outer space battle with BlackZarak and the Decepticons, Grand Maximus's battleship was sent plummeting into Earth's atmosphere when its tachyon converter was knocked offline. Setting personal safety aside, it was Shūta who saved the day by donning a rocket pack and reactivating the converter. When the ship reactivated with a judder, he was thrown free and continued his searing re-entry, only to be swept up by Ginrai just before impacting. Crisis! The Day of the Downfall of Humanity

While searching for the Decepticon base, Shūta was approached by the repentant Clouder, who offered to take him there. Shūta warily agreed to accompany to see if his claim was legitimate before radioing the other Autobots, but while Clouder's intentions were good, the other Decepticons caught wind of the pair's approach and ambushed them. Captured and thrown in a dungeon, Shūta naturally assumed Clouder had betrayed him and began pummeling the Godmaster. Overlord was gentlemanly enough to correct Shūta's misconception, but proceeded to use the Headmaster Junior as a bargaining chip, summoning Ginrai to the base in exchange for his supposed safety. Held in the grip of King Poseidon, Shūta cried out for his commander to forget about him and fight back against Overlord. Thankfully, the equation was soon balanced out by Cancer, who turned against the Decepticons and freed Shūta. Decepticon defeat and Autobot escape immediately followed, God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base and not long after, Shūta participated in a large-scale Autobot attack on the Decepticon base, culminating in its destruction. {{storylink|The Ultimate Combination!! On a mission to stop BlackZarak in the Grand Canyon, Shūta, the other Juniors and Ranger were attacked by King Poseidon, and Shūta was seized by Buster and had a gun put to his head. When the Decepticon Pretenders attacked the Karin Islands, Shūta accompanied his Autobot friend Metalhawk there and attempted to persuade the local prince, Cab, to back down from the fight. Cab responded by slugging Shūta one and telling the foreigner to keep out of it, but was shocked into silence when the Pretenders dropped their disguises and revealed their robotic forms. Shūta explained the origins of the Pretenders as Metalhawk routed the Decepticons, and said that he would introduce Cab to the Autobot hero. Gods? Devils? The Pretenders
Back in Japan, Cab and Shūta attended the International School together and soon discovered that Metalhawk had recruited their classmate, Minerva.

During a later battle between Metalhawk and Blood, Metalhawk summoned the Headmaster Juniors to aid in the rescue effort in the surrounding city. Shūta and Minerva were forced to sneak out of the International School dormitory, and they and Cab then met their opposite numbers in the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors, whom they defeated. Shūta was not best pleased about having had his night's sleep ruined, but Minerva pointed out that it was Sunday tomorrow anyway. Destined Confrontation: The Children of Good and Evil
Shūta and the Juniors soon met and befriended the Autobot Godmaster Ginrai, {{storylink|Enter on the Stage! At one point, Shūta and Cab were captured by the Decepticons and tortured by Blood. Mega and Giga hoped that the two boys would join their twisted Decepticon family, but Shūta refuted the notion that the villains were any kind of family at all. Thankfully, they were rescued by Minerva and Ginrai, and as they recuperated, the boys laughed about how the two seemed to be filling the roles of their mother and father. The Earth Family of Good and Evil
In the final battle against BlackZarak, the villain turned on his fellow Decepticons, leading them to unite with the Autobots in defeating him. When a new Transformer war erupted on Earth, Shūta and Cab decided to check out the new Supreme Commander, Star Saber, thinking that he wasn't a patch on God Ginrai. They appeared in the middle of a battle between Star Saber and the Decepticons, lecturing the adopted human sons of the two faction leaders (Jean Minakaze of the Autobots and Solon Kitakaze of the Decepticons) on how much better Ginrai was. In mid-pontification, however, the boys were attacked by Dinoforce member Kakuryū. Star Saber swooped in to save them and hurled Kakuryū over a cliff, but as the Decepticon clawed at the edge of the crevice, Star Saver showed mercy and helped him back up. This was enough to convince Shūta and Cab that Star Saber was a good egg, and they cemented their friendship with Jean. Warrior of Love, Star Saber! Jean was later invited by the boys to Cab's treehouse, but that didn't turn out to be such a good idea, since Yokuryū smashed up the place and captured Jean. {{storylink|Watch Out, Jean! Shūta, Cab and the other Victories were all aboard Galaxy Shuttle during the final battle between the Autobots and Deathsaurus's planet-destroying fortress. When the battle was done, they all boarded the fortress with the other Autobots and Decepticons and witnessed Deathsaurus's disclosure that the fortress contained all the Decepticon civilians. This revelation led to the laying down of Autobot and Decepticon arms and the beginning of a new age of peace. Shūta and Cab glomped Patty in happiness. {{storylink|Heroic! :Shūta Gō is a human and Autobot Headmaster Junior from the Super-God Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

There, they added their Chōkon Power to Ginrai's to create the "Final Fire Guts" attack, with which BlackZarak and Devil Z were both finally destroyed.

In the wake of Devil Z's destruction, however, the bond between the Autobots and their Transtectors was broken, and Shūta became a normal kid again as his now-living Transtector and those of all the other Autobots headed into space to continue the fight against the Decepticons. A Battle... and Then...

All of the Transformers boarded Grand Maximus and charged him with their energy before he crashed straight into BlackZarak, obliterating him and Devil Z. The death of Devil Z caused the bond between the humans and their Transtectors to be broken, and Shūta became a normal kid again as his now-living Transtector and those of all the other Autobots headed into space to continue the fight against the Decepticons. The Birth of the Super Lifeforms

Watch Out, Jean! Hurry, Star Saber!

Shūta and Cab established themselves as members of Star Saber's Autobot warriors when they got new suits of armor modelled on the Brainmasters. (Shūta wore a suit based on Braver.) The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber! Their little group of armored humans, the "Victories", was soon joined by Jean's sister Patty (to whom both boys took a liking), The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory! and more surprisingly, by Solon, who betrayed the Decepticons when he learned his true heritage. With their team now completed, they were able to channel their power into their respective Autobot counterparts to form the Victory Blade attack, soundly thrashing Deathsaurus and Liokaiser in one blast. Shine! The Five Stars of Victory

:Cab is a human and Autobot Headmaster Junior from the Super-God Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Cab (キャブ Kyabu) is the hereditary prince of the Republic of Karin in the South Seas, but if he could have his way, he'd really rather not be. Cab has availed himself of the tropical nature of the Karin Islands to escape his responsibilities in the most extreme way possible, spending his days playing "wild boy" in the island jungle. Exposure to the evil of the Decepticons and a burgeoning friendship with Shūta Gō prompted Cab to join up with the Autobots and enter civilization, but like the saying goes: You can take the boy out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the boy. Brave to the point of stupidity, insufferably brash, and desperately caught up in a desire to appear mature while avoiding any of the actual responsibilities maturity entails, Cab doesn't tend to "play well" with others.

As an Autobot Headmaster Junior, Cab is bonded to a Transtector from the planet Master, which takes the form of a fire engine. Using his Master-Braces, he can summon a suit of armor that enhances his physical strength, speed and reflexes, which allows him to transform into a head for his Transtector and function as a full-size Transformer robot. Aside from these Transformer powers, Cab also possesses the remarkable ability to communicate with animals, and two of his best friends are an armadillo and a parrot that have accompanied him into the western world. True to his self-imposed jungle upbringing, Cab is also quite an accomplished survivalist, able to build long-term shelters, cook using natural materials, and skilfully wield a knife.
Cab was in the midst of his usual jungle antics, tending to a wounded monkey, when his elderly guardian Donq excitedly approached him with a letter of acceptance from the International School of Japan. Cab had no desire to leave the island, but Donq was insistent that he be properly educated in preparation for his royal duties, and Cab angrily ran off into the jungle, where he was attacked by the Decepticon Dauros and a swarm of Seacons. The Autobots Metalhawk and Diver saw the Decepticons off, but when Donq refused to believe Cab's claim that he had seen the two Pretenders transform from humans into robots, the prince again ran off in anger. Cab was followed to a nearby beach by the Autobots' companion Shūta Gō, but Cab immediately attacked the boy, thinking that he too was a robot. Shūta was able to defuse the situation, although he couldn't hide his amusement at Cab's general lack of knowledge of western culture. Cab responded by showing off his own talents, translating the cawing of a bird as a message that the Decepticons had been spotted on the nearby "Isle of the Gods". Despite Shūta's pleas, Cab headed off to fight the Decepticons himself, only to be captured and imprisoned. The Autobots were able to follow Cab's trail to the island and defeat the Decepticons, proving their true nature to the young prince. Jealous of Shūta's friendship with the Autobots, Cab decided to attend the International School after all, so that he could travel to Japan and forge a bond with Shūta and the Pretenders himself. Terror! The Decepticons' Manhunt

Rather than move into the school dormitory, Cab elected to build a treehouse in the woods surrounding the Autobot base, where he lived with his parrot and armadillo, despite Shūta's incredulous reaction to his completely technology-free homestead. Eager to aid the Autobots in their mission, he and Shūta joined them in travelling to Corsica, where they befriended an ambassador's daughter named Minerva, and saved her and her family from a Decepticon plot by fighting and defeating a Destroid with their bare hands. Kidnapping!? The Targeted Jumbo Jet Minerva proceeded to enroll in the International School alongside the two boys, and the trio's determination to help the Autobots prompted Metalhawk to make them a remarkable offer. Given Master-Braces and a Transtector, Cab and the others became Autobot Headmaster Junior warriors. Birth! Headmaster Jrs

Although the Juniors primarily performed rescue operations, with Cab handling fire extinguishing, they were sent to America to train with Diver for combat scenarios. As bad luck would have it, an attack by the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors on a nearby city occurred during their visit, and the team had to spring into action alone. Cab was able to interpret the barking of a dog to help Minerva find its buried owner, and then worked on his teamwork with Shūta by taking out a Lobclaw. {{storylink|Rage!!
Correspondence from the Karin Islands came regularly for Cab, from a package of the islands' coconuts {{storylink|Panic! Protect the Wild Animals!!|Panic! Donq had written to inform Cab that the Karin Islands were at last going to receive electricity, from a new tidal power plant being built on Viscas Island. Predictably, the plant became a target for the Decepticons, now joined by the powerful Godmaster brothers Hydra and Buster, who the Autobots were only just able to beat back. {{storylink|A Fierce Battle!!

The Juniors' summer vacation did not get off to a good start when Cab was caught peeping on the girls' swimming class towards the end of school, but things took an upward turn with the discovery of another Autobot Godmaster named Lightfoot. Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter The Juniors accompanied Metalhawk, Lander, Ginrai and Lightfoot on a camping trip into the Rocky Mountains, where Cab resolved to catch a massive king salmon and cook up a banquet for the group. He had little luck until the arrival of a forest patrolman named Ranger, who shared his special bait with Cab, allowing him to successfully make his catch. Availing himself of Ranger's offer to share his cabin when a storm struck that night, the Autobots discovered that the friendly patrolman was in fact the next Autobot Godmaster. An Enemy? The Third Godmaster, Ranger Cab and the other Juniors were later invited to France by Lightfoot to watch the finale of the World Grand Prix, and Cab severely geeked out in the presence of champion Road King, who he had sign his chest.

As summer break drew towards a close, Cab took the other Juniors back to the Karin Islands. Unfortunately, Cab's return coincided with an outlandish Decepticon plot to kidnap doctors, leaving his sickly childhood friend Copo unable to receive treatment for her debilitating condition. Cab was able to help move Copo to the medical facility on Viscas Island while the united forces of the Autobot Godmasters rescued the doctors, allowing Copo to be healed, and the Juniors to properly enjoy their vacation. Save the Little Girl! The Chōjin Warriors, the Godmasters Crazy Decepticon plans were still the order of the day when the Juniors returned to school to hear stories of a mysterious fortune-teller on television who predicted disasters across the planet. All the predictions soon came true and Cab and the other Juniors had to protect a town from a raging flood, only for it all to turn out to have been yet another Decepticon scheme. Expose the Decepticons' Dark Deception!

Soon thereafter, Cab, Shūta and Minerva were at last let in on a secret the other Autobots had been keeping from them: the "Bomber Project", a plan to construct a power-up drone known as "Godbomber" for Ginrai to help him fight BlackZarak, a mighty Decepticon presently approaching from space. Super Ginrai Gets Blown Away in the Desert!? Shūta and Cab sparred with him a little to help him work through the pain of injuries caused by a recent battle with the Decepticon Overlord, God Ginrai - Into the Sky!! but they and other Autobots were able only to watch as Ginrai jetted into space and battled Overlord and BlackZarak on Earth's moon. God Ginrai - Showdown on the Surface of the Moon Ginrai ultimately prevailed, and, after his return to Earth, Godbomber even revealed a new power, transforming into a robot that Cab and the Juniors discovered they could combine their Chōkon Power to control. Destroy Godbomber!!

When the Autobots believed they had at last recruited the final Godmaster, a young man named Clouder, Cab and Shūta were somewhat suspicious of their new "teammate." Although Minerva and Ginrai brushed off their concerns, Metalhawk was not so dismissive, and eventually proved that Clouder was, in fact, a Decepticon double-agent. Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!! Unfortunately, Clouder had already supplied the Decepticons with information on the base, and had planted a series of bombs throughout the headquarters that crippled its defenses and injured Metalhawk. Cab, Shūta and Minerva were left to defend the base alone against a Decepticon onslaught, and were ultimately forced to abandon it before it was destroyed. {{storylink|Disaster!

Soon after, BlackZarak returned and was able to reach the Earth, causing the conflict to escalate as cities all over the world were attacked. Cab then participated in an all-out attack on the Decepticon base, during which BlackZarak merged with the Decepticon emperor Devil Z. The Ultimate Combination!! BlackZarak, the New Lifeform. When the composite villain moved his base of operations into the Grand Canyon, the Autobots pursued, and Cab was part of a team along with Shūta, Minerva and Ranger who were attacked by King Poseidon. Cab and Shūta tried taking the combiner on directly, but the strategy proved unsuccessful, Autobots! Desperate Attack!! as did their attempt at a rematch in the Alps, where Metalhawk had to bail them out. Ginrai arrived to defeat the combiner, but Metalhawk and the Juniors were badly wounded and forced to remain behind as Ginrai headed to the summit of the Matterhorn to face BlackZarak. Malevolent and Inhuman! The True Form of Devil Z During the battle, BlackZarak transformed into an even more powerful serpent mode, but as Ginrai fought on, his burning spirit was felt by Cab, Minerva and Shūta. All three Juniors suddenly found themselves transported into his chest cockpit, where their energies helped him destroy BlackZarak. His host destroyed, Devil Z raged impotently until Ginrai and the Juniors united every last drop of their power in the Final Fire Guts attack, which completely destroyed the arch-villain. In the aftermath of the battle, the Autobots were all immediately enveloped in a glow and transformed from robots back into their human forms, now without their Masterbraces. Moments later, the truth of the situation was revealed: The death of Devil Z had caused their bond to their Transtectors to be severed. Their Transtectors, however, all lived on, evolved into true super-robot lifeforms through the power of their bond. Cab's Transtector departed for space with all the others to carry on the fight against the Decepticons. A Battle... and Then...
When three monstrous, shadowy creatures attacked the Karin Islands, Cab was spoiling for a chance to fight them, only to be restrained by his guardian, Donq. A young boy, Shūta, appeared quite abruptly and joined in the effort to persude Cab to back down from the fight, but Cab responded by slugging Shūta one and telling the foreigner to keep out of it. Cab was promptly shocked into silence when the monstrous figures revealed themselves to be the Decepticon Pretenders and were engaged in battle by Shūta's Autobot friend, Metalhawk. The death of Devil Z caused the bond between the humans and their Transtectors to be broken, and Cab became a normal kid again as his now-living Transtector and those of all the other Autobots headed into space to continue the fight against the Decepticons. The Birth of the Super Lifeforms
When a new Transformer war erupted on Earth, Cab and Shūta decided to check out the new Supreme Commander, Star Saber, thinking that he wasn't a patch on God Ginrai. This was enough to convince Cab and Shūta that Star Saber was a good egg, and they cemented their friendship with Jean. Warrior of Love, Star Saber! Jean was later invited by the boys to Cab's treehouse, but that didn't turn out to be such a good idea, since Yokuryū smashed up the place and captured Jean. Watch Out, Jean! Hurry, Star Saber!

Cab and Shūta established themselves as members of Star Saber's Autobot warriors when they and Jean donned suits of armor to become a team known as the "Victories". Cab wore a suit based on the Brainmaster warrior, Laster. The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber! The Victories were soon joined by Jean's sister Patty (to whom both boys took a liking), The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory! and more surprisingly, by Solon, who betrayed the Decepticons when he learned his true heritage. With their team now completed, they were able to channel their power into their respective Autobot counterparts to form the Victory Blade attack, soundly thrashing Deathsaurus and Liokaiser in one blast. Shine! The Five Stars of Victory

Cab, Shūta and the other Victories were all aboard Galaxy Shuttle during the final battle between the Autobots and Deathsaurus's planet-destroying fortress. Cab and Shūta glomped Patty in happiness. {{storylink|Heroic!
: "Carb"'s Transtector transforms into a red firetruck. The area between the cabin and the rear of the truck has a cockpit seat that the Headmaster Cab figure can sit in. The ladder base has a ratcheted joint, allowing it to rotate, while the ladder itself can extend out to 22cm in length and also has a movable compound nozzle. His two laser pistols can be attached to the sides of the vehicle, while his Anti-Fire Gun plugs into the ladder.

: In robot mode, Cab's cockpit seat becomes a helmet, into which the laser pistols plug as antennae. Like all Headmaster toys, Cab's Transtector has a flip-down panel on his chest which covers a spring-loaded mini-Tech Spec-meter which gives reads for Speed, Strength and Intelligence. The tumblers are activated when Cab (or any other Headmaster unit) is plugged into his neck socket. Cab has the transtector's face plainly visible on his back because, as a smaller Headmaster toy, he lacks the flip down panel featured on larger Headmasters.

: Cab shares a mold with the American Headmaster Hosehead. Unlike his fellow Headmaster Juniors, Cab features no apparent differences from his American counterpart.
Cab's nameless pet parrot and armadillo accompanied him when he left the Karin Islands to join the Autobots in Japan. They proved quite at home in his treehouse in the forest, and quickly took a shine to Shūta and Minerva's company. They accompany Cab virtually everywhere he goes, including to school, but not into combat situations—because hey, they might be animals, but they're not dumb.

Each animal has its own talents. The parrot is a very chatty, intelligent animal who speaks a fair bit of Japanese and often lets slip things that Cab would rather his friends not know about, like the fact he got a zero on a test. A Fierce Battle!! The Autobots Are in Trouble In contrast, the armadillo isn't particularly bright, but he's rather good at rolling up into a ball, and doesn't seem to mind at all when Shūta bounces him around like a soccer ball. Terror! The Decepticons' Manhunt To instruct the armadillo to either curl up or unfurl, the parrot will often squawk "Armadillo, transform!" and the armadillo will comply… even if he's halfway up a ladder at the time. A Fierce Battle!! The Autobots Are in Trouble The pair put their talents together to entertain the visiting Diver when the parrot landed on top of the rolled-up armadillo with a cry of "Head On!". A Powerful Foe!! Sixknight the Wanderer
