:Tidal Wave is a Decepticon from the Unicron Trilogy series. He took the name Mirage after he took a new body.

Tidal Wave is a powerhouse, one of the largest Decepticons under Megatron's command. His power is backed up by a brain that doesn't exactly run at optimal speeds; he's not so much stupid as he is single-minded and easily frustrated. In battle he is merciless, an unyeilding engine of destruction.

He is unquestionably loyal to Megatron and his ideals, and will quickly sign up with anyone that promises power to the Decepticon cause.

Tidal Wave's Mini-Con partner is Ramjet

Tidal Wave was originally brought to Earth by the Decepticon stratigist Thrust in an attempt to bolster the Decepticon forces so that they could obtain the Requiem Blaster. Thrust claimed Tidal Wave was a general, an unsubstantiated claim that seems rather out of place considering Tidal Wave's... lack of grace. Although he often appeared stupid and lumbered about, Tidal Wave provided immense firepower and a combiner addition to Megatron and proved to be a loyal soldier throughout the campaign.

Tidal Wave was present at the meeting between the Autobots and Decepticons during the Unicron Battles in which the two sides formed a temporary truce, notably shaking hands with Jetfire.

Energon
Voice actor Doug Parker (US) Jin Yamanoi Japan

After the end of the Unicron Battles, Tidal Wave loyally followed Galvatron's last request - that the Decepticons remain at peace with the Autobots. During the ten year period that followed, Tidal Wave somewhere along the line changed not only his color palette but his occupation - instead of being a warrior, he was now a guardian of the energon mines in the Sol system's asteroid belt.

Tidal Wave's post was one of the first targets of the Terrorcon hordes. After being attacked and abducted, he was brought to Scorponok and Alpha Quintesson's base of operations, where they convinced him to side with them by promising to revive Megatron. Although he clearly disliked Scorponok, Tidal Wave carried out orders in attacking other energon reserves run by the Autobots until Megatron returned. Following this, he continued raiding Autobot bases, only under Megatron's orders.

Tidal Wave would later show disdain for the madman Decepticon recruit Shockblast. During a battle on Cybertron, an energon tower collapsed on top of Tidal Wave due to a shot from Shockblast. Megatron called for a retreat and hauled Tidal Wave's damaged body back into space, where the giant Decepticon was reformatted into "Mirage".

Mirage traded his gigantic, hulking body for a smaller, sleeker, and speedier form. He also apparently gained an upgrade in intelligence, although he also started to buddy up with Demolishor and Snow Cat to form a comedy relief trio. He continued to serve Megatron throughout the war for energon, even gaining what appeared to be a romantic infatuation with him.

When Galvatron flung himself into the energon sun to destroy Unicron's spark, Mirage loyally followed after him and ended his life.

(Note: Throughout the Armada and Energon cartoons, Tidal Wave/Mirage had the habit of repeating his name as a sort of battle cry. This, unsurprisingly, did not help deter his reputation as an idiot.)

Dreamwave Comics continuity
Armada
Tidal Wave was little seen in the Armada comic from Dreamwave, appearing only in a panel or two in the final story.

Energon
In Energon, Tidal Wave was recruited by Scorponok, joining the Terrorcons. While he went on several raids and missions with the Terrorcons, it became clear to him that he wasn't the most respected of the team. Alpha Quintesson, however, saw something in him, and reformatted him into Mirage, noting as he did so that Scorponok had fallen out of Unicron's favor.

Playstation 2 Video Game
Tidal Wave, in his combined battleship mode, was stationed as a relay and refuel point off a small chain of islands in the Mid-Atlantic. The Autobots made their way inside him to take out the Decepticlone platoons inside and destroy him, but discovered that Tidal Wave wasn't merely a transport. They escaped just in time to avoid being crushed as Tidal Wave transformed into his titanic robot mode.

Tidal Wave walked around the island chain in the deep waters, unloading volleys of missiles, lasers, and the occasional Jet Sniper on the tiny-by-comparison Autobots. Despite his impressive size, firepower, and nigh-impenetrable armor, the Autobots mamaged to do enough damage to Tidal Wave's one weak point -his face- to cause a chain reaction that caused multiple exlposions inside him, sending him falling face-first to the ocean floor.
: Tidal Wave is a robot that is made up of three different aquatic vehicles; an aircraft carrier, a double-bowed battleship, and a troop-landing craft. All three can combine to form a single gigantic warship, which from there can transform to robot mode without having to separate. Each smaller craft has its own gimmick; the carrier has a working storage elevator for Tidal Wave's Mini-Con partner Ramjet, the battleship has Mini-Con Powerlinx-activated swiveling cannons (also usable in robot mode), and the landing craft opens up to reveal seats for Mini-Cons to sit on.

: The Takara and Hasbro versions are considerably different, even through they only have a single difference. The Takara version uses purple plastic in the place of Hasbro's green. While this makes the Takara version somewhat more like the show portrayal, the color layouts are still off.
The initial releases of Mirage were one-per-case, and part of a wave that saw limited distribution due to a glut of early product on the shelves. However, Mirage was later put into "Mega-Buy" multi-packs at a buy-one-get-one-free price at numerous chains, including Toys 'R' Us and Wal*Mart, relieving much of the demand for the item.
Thrust is one of Megatron's higher-ranking Decepticon soldiers. His occasional Mini-Con partner is Inferno, plus sometimes he commands the Air Military Mini-Con Team.

(Note: Thrust's personality varied signifigantly between the comic and cartoon, see entries below for details.)
:Voice actor: Colin Murdoch (US) ??? (Japan)

In the cartoon, Thrust was a renowned tactician who joined Megatron on Earth in an attempt to improve his soldiers' relations. Thrust led the Decepticons to some short victories, but was quickly dethroned of his rank after his failures began to stack up. Hated by all the other Decepticons due to his superior attitude, Thrust began to shrink into himself and got more desperate to prove his power.

Eventually, Thrust joined Sideways with the lure of ultimate power, and managed to steal the three Mini-Con weapons that were the keys to reactivating Unicron's body. Thrust met his demise when he demanded Unicron attack his former master, Galvatron, only to have Unicron act totally unaware of Thrust's presense. Thrust fell into a seam on Unicron's surface which began to tighten and close as Unicron moved, and was crushed to death as Galvatron walked away.

Dreamwave Comic continuity
Armada
Thrust was a somewhat cowboy-like entity that served loyally the Decepticons in the comics continuity. He was devoted to Megatron, and followed his orders faithfully. Thrust first appeared via transwarp from Cybertron, carrying rocket boosters so the Decepticons could fly to the moon and capture the Mini-Cons stationed there.

Later, Thrust was sent to northern Alaska to back up Cyclonus, who was there to retrieve a fallen Mini-Con escape pod. First Thrust took a torch-blast to the face from Dune Runner of the Adventure Mini-Con Team, who was there to save his allies. Then he was knocked around by Cyclonus, who was feeling the effects of a triple-Powerlinx with the entire Destruction Mini-Con Team, which began to burn out his circuits and drive him mad with pain. When he finally came to, between Cyclonus' breakdown, the arrival of the Autobots, and Megatron using an orbiting solar scalpel to melt the ice that buried the escape pod, Thrust decided maybe he'd better get the heck outta Dodge.

Later, Thrust followed Starscream to a building lot in San Fransisco, to investigate a weird transwarp disturbance. He got there just in time to get shot down by a herald of Unicron, who was seeking the refugee Mini-Con OVer-Run.

When Megatron left to attack the Autobot base on Earth, Thrust was left behind to guard their Silver Ridge headquarters. He quickly had the crap kicked out of him by the other heralds of Unicron. Not a fatal beating, though, as he was repaired in time to journey back to Cybertron and face the planet-eater.

Energon
After the destruction of Unicron and the apparent death of Megatron, Thrust became a security officer in the new peacetime. He joined Hot Shot's unit and defended Toronto from the Terrorcon Divebomb clone-hordes when they attacked Earth. When Megatron reappeared, Thrust tried to rejoin him, but Megatron completely ignored him, warping to his next destination.
:Japanese ID number: MD-05

: Thrust transforms into a plane of undertermined model with an odd VTOL fan in the center of its body. In jet mode, he has two pressure-launch missile launchers, and a space to store his Mini-Con partner Inferno in his (Inferno's) truck mode. Aside from his robot mode, he also has an "assault" robot mode, which turns his torso around 180 degrees and extends his winged backpack; attaching a Mini-Con to the Powerlinx plug on his chest and pushing it up and down causes the backpack to move as a spinning blade.

: This mold was also used to make Universe Sunstorm.
:Japanese ID number:

: In Japan, Thrust was available both as an individual (well, with Inferno) and in a larger boxed set that also included the Air Military Mini-Con Team. There are no notable difference between the Japanese and US releases.

*Powerlinx Thrust with Powerlinx Inferno (Deluxe, 2003)

: Part of the later-series "Powerlinx" line of redecos, Powerlinx Thrust got a new color scheme that was a "reversal" of the Generation 1 "conehead" Dirge, primarily light brown with dark blue and black accents.

: The packaging for this release, however, showed him in a color scheme more like his G1 namesake, burgundny with black (and some bone-white accents). His coloration was changed to the brown-and-blue too late to change the packaging photography.

: Later on, Takara produced this red color version of Thrust as a "USA Edition" exclusive, though reportedly some were sold at retail in Israel, of all places.

Thundercracker suffered from low self-esteem and longed for approval from authority figures to validate his existence. He was willing to work as hard as necessary to gain attention and praise from Megatron, but when all his efforts were ignored or taken for granted, he grew frustrated. Thundercracker felt the need to engage in ever more risky and reckless behavior in an attempt to gain Megatron's notice. Many predicted this would lead to his destruction.

When next we see Thundercracker it is over ten years later, loyally serving under Starscream during the search for the Cyber Planet Keys. In the intervening years he became something of a jokester and goofball. This has often gained him the attention that he craves. Though frequently, especially when Megatron is the brunt of the joke, it is far from positive attention. Thundercracker doesn't seem mature enough to tell the difference, but he does know when to get the smelt out of Decepticon HQ before Megatron looks for someone to pummel.

(Note: the Dreamwave More Than Meets The Eye bio compilation for the Armada series portrays Thundercracker very differently, as a former Decepticon who left the army centuries ago. However, this does not seem to mesh with the glimpses of unreleased Energon comic issues where Thundercracker, along with several other Armada-series characters, show up in the present day.)
:Thundercracker is a Decepticon in the Armada and Cybertron portions of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

While fighting on Cybertron, Blurr encountered a captured Sideswipe in the distant past, saving him from a rope trap. On Earth, Blurr served under Optimus Prime in the mini-con hunt, and eventually the Unicron Battles.

Blurr is described as a racer with a gruff serious personality. He doesn't like small talk and prefers to keep himself busy working. Blurr has a dislike for the children and especially Sideswipe. Blurr relates most to Scavenger, as the two are very similar.
In this mode, plugging his Mini-Con partner Incinerator into the space under Blurr's spoiler causes the rear side panels of Blurr's car mode to flip down into a "flight mode".
