Summary
Following yet another defeat at the hands of the Autobots, mostly due to Galvatron opening fire on his fellow Decepticons, the beaten and abused Decepticon forces issue Cyclonus an ultimatum: "Do something about Galvatron or we'll do something about the both of you!" A holographic image of a Quintesson appears and suggests that there are ways to cure Galvatron of his madness, and planets which specialize in repairing damaged minds, such as Torkulon. Cyclonus lies to Galvatron, informing him that the Autobots are resting after their most recent skirmish on Torkulon. Meanwhile the Quintessons gloat behind the scenes that shortly they will have several less Transformers to deal with including the Decepticon leader they view as the "most unpredictable of them all."

Upon landing, Galvatron threatens several alien flesh creatures, demanding them to hand over Ultra Magnus - the Torkulons arrive and restrain Galvatron, who then realizes Cyclonus lied to him about the presence of the Autobots, and Galvatron is carried away to begin his therapy, which Cyclonus believes will cure him. Scourge, however, is reluctant and feels this therapy is stupid, wishing only to get off the therapy planet.

The Torkulons are unsuccessful in getting Galvatron to talk about his problems, and even less successful when they have him put together external objects to repair his damaged psyche, resulting in Galvatron creating a blaster and trying to escape. Finally they attempt "exo-drama" where patients act out their problems but a bouncing alien screaming at Galvatron finally causes him to snap further, to which he says he will give them something to "scream about." Galvatron becomes immune to the electromagnetic restraints of the Torkulons, who throw everything they have at Galvatron, restraining him for their last resort - the Alia solution, in which it's revealed Torkulon itself is a living planet that feeds off of the madness of those who cannot be helped, in effect lobotomizing the planet's victims and leaving them mindless. Cyclonus and Scourge are also restrained by the Torkulons.

The Alia begin to feed on Galvatron who continues to resist, with an allusion to his past life as Megatron when he yells "You have no right to change what I am!," to which the Torkulon doctor informs him "You've already been changed; that's the problem." Crying by Cyclonus ensues as he watches his leader's mind become consumed by Torkulon, however something goes wrong. The madness of Galvatron proves to be too strong for the living planet, causing it to malfunction. In the chaos, Galvatron, Scourge and Cyclonus are released from the planet's grasp. After taking a few shots at Cyclonus for getting him in this mess, Galvatron journeys to the center of the planet, having seen into it's mind while it was inside his. The planet fears Galvatron's madness and destructive potential but ultimately is unable to stop Galvatron from reaching it's living-computer core and firing at it in his laser cannon mode, rendering the entire planet inoperable. Galvatron informs Cyclonus he will now destroy whatever is left, and warns Cyclonus against stopping him. As the planet is reduced to smoke and rubble, Galvatron gloats over the beauty of "devastation wraught with precision and care," seemingly just a little more sane... until Cyclonus informs Galvatron the Torkulons will spend centuries rebuilding. Galvatron decides his work isn't done if it's going to take "only centuries" to rebuild, but upon Cyclonus mentioning the Autobots smiles at the prospect of killing Ultra Magnus and the Decepticons flee the planet, leaving the Torkulons at the mercy of their former insane patients.
Technical/Animation Glitches
*Glitch

Continuity Errors
*Perhaps not a continuity error or an animation flaw, as much as a quirk, is that this is the last G1 appearance of Lazerbeak (curiously without Soundwave) who appears in the party of angry Decepticons threatening to eliminate Cyclonus if something isn't done about Galvatron's madness.

Transformers References
*Some allusion is made to Galvatron's former life as Megatron. While the Torkulons attempt to lobotomize the Decepticon leader, he states that they have "no right" to change what he is, to which the Torkulon Doctor replies "You have already been changed, that's the problem." On the other hand, this could also be taken to mean the plasma damage that changed him from his saner personality as seen in the movie.

Real-World References
*Large portions of the episode, especially the therapy sessions, seemed to parody real psychological treatment methods such as word association and dramatherapy. The intentions of the Alia to consume Galvatron's mind could also be taken as a reference to a lobotomy, a process that can "cure" certain mental illnesses but removes significant parts of the patient's personality.
A sultry femme fatale, Blackarachnia is smart, sexy, and dangerous. She's got eight legs, and she knows how to use them. Of the several rebellious Predacons under Megatron's command, she's one of the very few who can, on occasion, outguile him. Always looking out for Number One, Blackarachnia values her independence and freedom above all else. She would rather be deactivated than be a slave.
Blackarchnia's greatest weakness, other than her overconfidence, is her feelings for the Maximal Silverbolt.
Blackarachnia was born from one of the Maximal fallen Stasis pods. Tarantulas, watching a black widow fight and devour another spider, was inspired. Megatron, observing the slim and attractive Blackarachnia transform and strike a few poses, suggested that he had "ulterior motives behind her beast form selection." But, she was a Predacon, and that was what was important.

Blackarachnia made herself renowned among the ranks of both the Maximals and Predacons as a severe headache to Megatron. When Tarantulas found out about the Vok, he tried to craft a stasis pod escape ship for himself, and she was there to forge a partnership Spider's Game. When Scorponok and Blackarachnia journeyed to the island, she was there to shove him out of the way and take control of the island herself, only defeated by Tigatron The Trigger, Part 1. When Starscream took control of Waspinator's body, she was right next to him when he betrayed Megatron, betraying Starscream back Possession. When she aided Tarantulas in breaking into the Axalon to acquire a stasis pod for conversion into an escape ship, she took over after a following Inferno incapacitated Tarantulas, intending to take the ship for herself. Other Voices, Part 1 Unfortunately for her, this deception backfired on her in the form of a forced mind link between her and Tarantulas, which remained until she forced the spider into breaking it. Tangled Web When Tarantulas forced her to investigate Megatron's Golden Disk backups, she waited until Tarantulas was occupied to download and encrypt the recoverable information. Coming of the Fuzors, Part 2

When the Vok were moments away from returning, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia both again teamed up in an attempt to flee the dying planet. Megatron, already aware of the next move, used their deceptive tendencies against them, and acted unaware of their treachery. As they built their escape ship, he installed his own variant on the design, making it unescapable once sealed and in space. Though it did not destroy either of them, the result was even better: Optimus Primal wound up in the pod and was destroyed instead. Other Voices, Part 2 Blackarachnia's wits saved her, as she convinced Megatron that he would need soldiers, which gave him reason to spare her life. Aftermath

When an energon blast sent her and Silverbolt into the middle of the dense jungles, they were forced to work together. Blackarachnia, though attracted to him, was endlessly frustrated by his seemingly idiotic chivalry and need to treat her special. Megatron, listening in to their commlink chatter, was disgusted by the obvious romance going on. Blackarachnia, though she held it under a firm charade of bitter irritation, rather liked the treatment and affection. Bad Spark

Megatron sent Waspinator to the location of the Ark. Blackarachnia, realizing what it meant, abandoned her post and went instead. Silverbolt followed her, and stubbornly refused to leave her alone. Exhausted and in a hurry, she conceded and told him to dig. The two broke through the mountainside, just as Megatron - having broke free from Ravage, arrived. Megatron knew Blackarachnia had the codes to the Golden Disk that would allow them to get by the Ark's security systems, and he threatened to vape Silverbolt. Bitterly, she agreed to his demands.

Blackarachnia used the Ark's security system to cover Megatron's back, not sure of what he was planning. Once he fired upon Optimus Prime, history began to change, wiping out all Maximals...which included herself. Not willing to die for Megatron, she activated Teletraan-1's security nets to force Megatron off the ship. With Silverbolt's help, they got the dying Autobot leader under life support and begun the repairs. The Maximals, recognizing what she had done, reluctantly allowed her to join their ranks. Optimal Situation

Later, Blackarachnia took the Transmetal driver and attempted to use it on herself. Silverbolt, not realizing what she was planning, bailed her out of the contraption. Like every good girlfriend, she began to chew him out, but was cut off as an energy surge made her lose control of her circuits. A security system Tarantulas installed had been triggered by her tampering with her core, and the only way to fix it was to cut the Predacon shell program loose. Reluctantly, she agreed. An attack on the Maximal base disrupted the attempt, and she was deactivated.

Distraught, Silverbolt took off to avenge her death. He easily subdued Tarantulas, and was moments away from executing him when Rampage attacked him. Blackarachnia, with her new and improved Transmetal 2 body, easily fought him off and rescued Silverbolt. Crossing the Rubicon

Voice Actress: Venus Terzo (US), Ryōka Yuzuki (Japan)

In Beast Machines, Blackarachnia was distraught and confused - she was locked out of her robot mode, back in her original body, all of her allies were gone, Silverbolt had vanished, and she was being attacked by what looked like Cybertronian guards.

She had a relatively easy time adapting to her new technorganic form, but she was still frustrated by the loss of Silverbolt. When Thrust saved her life, having strange recollections of doing so before, her mind was set - he was Silverbolt, mutated and made evil by Megatron.

Using some of the organic fluid from the Cybertronian core, she trapped Thrust in some of her webs and forced his inner personality out, begging for Silverbolt to answer. The reply was not quite what she was looking for.

"Doggie-bot not home!"

When Jetstorm attacked, he also was caught up in some of her organic goo, and his true personality came out, sweeping Blackarachnia in his arms. Silverbolt returned, but just for a moment. The goo vanished, and their Vehicon minds returned.

Later, Blackarachnia managed to force Jetstorm into a large pool of the organic goo, and his body began to change. Scanning a nearby vulture skeleton, he awoke in a new body.

Blackarachnia was startled by the change in him. Instead of the lovable chivalrous knight in shining armor, he was a brittle, haunted bot, tormented by the images of the evil deeds he did, and did by choice. Though he gave up on himself, she never did, urging Silverbolt to forgive his past.
Beast Wars
*Blackarachnia (Deluxe, 1995)
: Japanese ID number: D-8

: Blackarachnia's original toy was a redeco of the Tarantulas mold, transforming into a rather generic-looking organic spider. It features a removable spring-loaded launcher hidden in its beast-mode abdomen; it nominally fires the "grappling hook" attached to its abdomen, but its front four beast-mode legs could also be removed and used as missiles.

: This was later reissued in Japan in more show accurate colors for the 10th Anniversary of Beast Wars. Head doesn't get a remold, though. How odd.

*Blackarachnia (Happy Meal Transmetal, 1997)

: Part of the second McDonalds Beast Wars Happy Meal pack-in, Blackarachnia's "Transmetal" form rather resembles some sort of dust mite more than a spider and the robot mode appears to have fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Has a very similar transformation to the earlier promotional figure Beetle.

*Blackarachnia (Transmetal 2, 1999)
: Japanese ID number: C-48

: The Transmetal 2 version of Blackarachnia transforms into a large organic/mechincal monstrous spider, featuring a grappling hook, switching faction symbols, and a spin-kick action feature. This toy was initially hard to find at retail, as one of the toy's features, a piece of removable chest armor (no, really), was altered slightly, delaying later shipments.

: This mold was used to make the 2000 exclusive Arcee.

Beast Machines
*Blackarachnia (Deluxe, 2000)

: An early toy in the Beast Machines line, Blackarachnia transforms into a technorganic spider. In spider mode, squeezing its pedipalps together raised its central fangs; they were spring-loaded to release and lower, respectively.

: This mold was used to make Crystal Widow.

*Blackarchnia (Happy Meal, 2000)
: Happy Meal Balckrachnia is a super-simplified version of her retail toy, with a coloration much closer to the Mainframe CGI model.

*Blackwidow (Deluxe, 2005)
: Japanese ID number: BR-04

: Part of the Japanese Toys 'R' Us exclusive Beast Wars Returns series, this toy is a redeco of the orignial Beast Machines Blackarachnia in a more show-like maroon coloration.

Universe
*Blackarachnia (Deluxe, 2003)

: For Universe, Blackarachnia returned as a Decepticon, and as a redeco of the original Beast Machines figure. However, her forearms were mistakenly swapped, leaving her forearm "spikes" pointing up towards her biceps rather than down near her elbows.

: This mold (with the same swapped forearms error) was used to make Crystal Widow.

Unreleased
: In 2004, a group of test-shots made their way onto ebay, among them a redeco of the original Beast Wars Tarantulas/Blackarachnia mold in black with silver spider-legs and salmon-colored robot parts. Later, Hasbro's official website checklist featured listings for two "Halloween Horrorcon Value Packs" that were to be Wal*Mart exclusives... which also likely explains why they were cancelled. (Wal*Mart had taken a good half-dozen exclusives and released them more-or-less simultaneously, leading to a huge glut. A lot of other Transformers exclusives were cancelled during the Universe era.) One of the sets was "Leatherhide Vs. Blackarachnia"... and thus, the mystery spider was confirmed, as the other test-shots in that group lined up with the name listings given in the sets.

: In 2005, the mold used for Alternators Decepticharge was presented as an upcoming release for the Japanese Binaltech line. Though a bio and story chapter was written to accomodate it into the Binaltech fiction, it was ultimately dropped when the toy was put on indefinite haitus due to low line sales. A single Photoshoped promotional image was released of the item. It has not been revealed as to how the story would have dealt with this time-displaced character addition, and is unliekly to, as Binaltech author Hirofumi Ichikawa is unlikely to reveal confidential work-for-hire pieces, since he still works for Takara.

Trivia
* Reportedly, Blackarachnia's show model was inspired by an Asian stripper at a club that some Mainframe folks had taken the modeler to only a few days prior as um... inspiration.

* Blackarachnia's original Beast Wars card art has her wearing a spike-studded collar. Dirty girl. Dirty, dirty girl.

* Even though Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia's toy had a unique faction-switching spark crystal, the feature doesn't make sense in a fictional context. By that point in the Beast Wars television series, the Transmetal Driver had destroyed her Predacon shell program, making her fully Maximal. (Though, to be fair, it had happened mere moments previously.)

* Blackarachnia exhibited what appears to be telekinesis not long after gaining her Transmetal 2 form, levitating a steel girder to stop Rampage.Master Blaster The ability only appeared once and was never explained. Fans speculate it may be a result of the TM2 Driver, an outgrowth of her psychic link with Tarantulas, or both (or a wizard did it). Following her reformatting in Beast Machines, Blackarachnia no longer possessed this ability.

*In the jovial Japanese dub of Beast Wars, Blackarachnia's character underwent a few small (depending on your point of view) changes. Firstly, she had a voice that can only be described as "bipolar". She would switch between her usual sultry, flirtatious voice to a screaming blood-thirsty maniac at the drop of a hat. Another notable change is that, while still a strong female character, she was made less independant and was occassionally prone to crying for help from her Predacon cohorts, something she never did in the English version. However, this isn't the first time the Japanese have done their best to improve upon a female character.

Humans (also known as: fleshlings, squishies, "puny flesh creatures", and "dumb stubbies", Terrans or Homo sapiens as they prefer) are bipedal and usually tiny organic beings found on Earth and like planets. Though quite fragile, and technologically backwards, they have at times aided the Autobots and thwarted the Decepticons once the Transformers' age-old war spilled onto the humans' primitive homeworld.

Overview
Physiology
Humans are suspiciously familiar creatures. Though they are made of soft, organic materials, they share remarkable physical similarities with Transformers as a species. Most Transformers and humans walk upright on two long legs attached to a tall body, with two limbs attached at the shoulders. At the shoulders is the head, just like a Transformer's, which sports two eyes in the center at equal distance from the olfactory sensor array, above a mouth which opens for speaking and for ingesting energy. Like Transformers, they are social creatures, who trade and barter wares and develop emotional attachments to peers. Eerily enough, they possess an emotional spectrum nearly identical to that of Transformers as well, ranging from laughter, joy, and satisfaction to depression, anger, and cruelty. It is not uncommon to find Transformers who have even developed strong spiritual bonds with individual creatures. This is disgusting.

Humans are physically comprised of several specialized units or systems called organs. The major organs are internalized, but extremely frail. Damage is hard to repair, and as they have yet to develop a method of replicating these organs, replacement usually requires harvesting from compatible humans. Major systems include the brain (central processing unit), the heart (primary engine core), and the lungs (which allow intake of essential atmospheric oxygen). Humans are able to ingest other organic matter and internally refine it into a fuel they term blood. Blood is required by every organ in their body and an elaborate transport system is required to transport it throughout. Though blood is in some sense self-replicating, a tremendous loss will result in permanent deactivation.

A human's organic tissue will begin failing just one quarter into his or her lifespan, and will spend the next three quarters growing ever less efficient until the human's lifeforce can no longer sustain itself. As a result, humans are saddeningly short-lived creatures. (It is not known how they find the time to accomplish anything, though as a side effect it has made their wars mercifully short.) Interestingly, humans do not build new members of their race. To the contrary, humans are what they have deemed "sexually dimorphic," categorized into sexes, wherein members of one subvariant of their species, classified as male, implants structural data, which they call "DNA", in the other classified as female. This process grows a new human (or occasionally more than one, although this is rare) inside the female like a parasite until it emerges roughly three quarters of an Earth year later. (If it exits the female too early, the new human risks death.) The new human is very fragile and stupid; it will take years to acclimate itself to their society. Even a young human who stayed inside its female for the appropriate length of time is not capable of operating self-sufficiently without extensive training. Initiating the growth of a new human apparently involves much rubbing, and sometimes also kissing. Humans are reticent to discussing the practice, and several attempts at accumulating further data were met with silence. This is confusing, as humans generally give the impression that they supremely enjoy it, and have refused all suggestions that they learn the technology to build their own from spare parts.

Technology
Although Earth is rich with natural resources, Human technology is surprisingly primitive. They had only begun to experiment with outer atmosphere travel at the time the Great War began on Earth, and they have limited communication methods. Although their locomotive devices, called "cars", are suitable for Transformation, they are incredibly energy inefficient, potentially dangerous, and quite crude. Despite this, the type of car is often seen as a status symbol among humans, apparently the larger the car the more status achieved. Some humans claim that those with large cars are "compensating" for some other sort of size deficiency&mdash;unsurprising, considering how tiny humans are compared to the Autobots and Decepticons.

Human military technology is equally unimpressive. They have yet to develop any form of workable energy weapons, and no shield technology either. Their primary weapons are devices called guns, which shoot small, metallic projectiles called bullets using a crude explosive called gunpowder. These are more than capable of killing other humans, but they are extremely ineffecient when fending off any attacking Decepticons.

Culture
Despite their lack of the multi-dimensional transwarp Spark, a great number of humans believe in an analogous concept, the intangible soul. This has been confirmed to be the equivalent of a Transformer's personality program in an odd experiment, when the human Spike Witwicky's personality was uploaded to an empty Transformer body cobbled together from spare parts. The human's consciousness was not suitable for digitization, and quickly deteriorated toward psychosis.

Many also believe in supernatural beings, either singular or plural, who have a direct but intangible stake in their lives. Once a week the more religious humans will gather together and sing songs at the ceiling, as the presumed direction of these beings is away from the gravity well of their planet. Unlike the historical Covenant of Primus, their holy books are not incorruptible encrypted public-key datatracks. Instead, they frequently re-encode the writings of multiple authors in an inefficient and apparently lossy process. Then they fight about which "translation" is correct instead of simply downloading the original encoding algorithm.

Despite having no concrete evidence these beings exist, and despite the records of the Beast Wars affirming their evolution from bipedal primates, the humans continue to assume these premises are true. This seems like a waste of spent attention, especially with such short lifespans, as no credible sources have substantiated that their alleged creator has ever transformed out of their world into a giant humanoid and fought its eternal enemy before their eyes. Humans maintain it with a zeal that leads one to wonder if they are malfunctioning. Many human traditions are puzzling.

The most familiar breed of humans are native to the planet Earth, though they can be found practically anywhere in the galaxy. For example, Nebulos is such a place, though some reports claim these humans are of green texture rather than various shades of beige. Femax is populated by humans of Transformer size. Pz-Zazz is also home to Transformer-sized humans, but it is not known whether they are indigenous to that world. It is possible that the tiny version of humans found on Earth is the exception, rather than the rule.
Mikaela learned how to fix cars from her father, a long-time car thief. When he couldn't find a babysitter, he'd bring young Mikaela along, and she learned his trade. She hides her automotive knowledge from her boyfriends, for fear that they will be insecure around a girl who knows more about cars than they do. She is also afraid of being thought "shallow," to which Sam awkwardly replies that he thinks that there is "more than meets the eye...with...you."

When Sector Seven forcibly detain Mikaela and Sam's family, Agent Simmons reveals that she has a police record and threatened her father's upcoming parole hearing. After the Autobots rescue the pair, she confides to Sam that she has a record because she refused to betray her father. Sector Seven soon recapture both teenagers (along with Bumblebee) and are brought to Hoover Dam. Sam negotiates with Simmons and has her criminal record expunged as part of his reward for helping Sector Seven with the information he has about the Transformers.

During the Decepticon attack at Mission City, Mikaela strapped the injured Bumblebee to an abandoned towtruck. Sam told her to get Bumblebee (and herself) away from the battle, but Mikaela, feeling guilty, decided go back. She drove the tow-truck backwards through the battle while Bumblebee shot at Brawl, deactivating the Decepticon.
At age twelve, Sam's father presents him with the heirlooms of his ancestor Archibald Amundsen Witwicky. Sam is not impressed and makes googly eyes with the arctic explorer's glasses.
Years later, Sam discovers the concept of riding around in cars to cruise for chicks. He looks to his box of priceless historical artifacts, and his thoughts turn to eBay...
He bought a car. It turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew? Then the Decepticons found him, via the aforementioned eBay auctions. Also, his pheromone levels suggest that he wants to mate with Mikaela Banes. Then again, who wouldn't?

Trivia
* Sam was not given the nickname "Spike", nor his father the nickname "Sparkplug" (though his wife does refer to him as "Spark"), because unlike their G1 counterparts the movie characters are not oil rig workers or mechanics. Earlier drafts of the script did have Sam earning the nickname "Spike" another way, but this was dropped before the script was finalized. spoiler

On the day before Fig was scheduled to go home on leave from Qatar, he and the rest of the men under the command of Captain William Lennox were returning to U.S. SOCCENT Forward Operations Base on board two CV-22 Ospreys after a mission. Discussing what they wanted to do when they got home, Fig at first spoke in Spanish, then switched the English due to the amused complaints of the other soldiers. He cited that he was proud of his heritage and it was his right to speak his native language, then continued with his opinion that alligator meat was the most succulent there is.

As night fell, the base was suddenly under siege by an unidentified MH-53 Pave Low that turned into some sort of walking battle platform. Fellow soldier Sergeant Epps was almost crushed by the machine as he tried to escape. Epps recorded images of the attacker when Fig noticed it had activated some sort of weapon from its chest and quickly fired a sabot from his grenade launcher, damaging the 'weapon' under its armour and allowing himself, Lennox, Sergeant Donnelly, Epps, local boy Mahfous and the remainder of the soldiers in their unit to escape as SOCCENT was destroyed.

The next day, the survivors discussed the previous night's attack. Fig said that his mother had a gift of precognition, and it was passed to him. He had a feeling that it wasn't over. Later, as they reached the outskirts of Mahfous' village, a billboard tower suddenly came crashing down. Donnelly turned to ask what the heck had happened, and Fig replied in Spanish, prompting Donnelly to tell him to speak in English.

Suddenly, they were under attack from a strange metal scorpion that came out of the sand, then dived under it again. As Fig and Donnelly searched for signs of the attacker, it suddenly came up behind the latter and impaled Donnelly in the chest, killing him. The rest of the men ran for the relative cover of the village and set up a defensive perimeter as Lennox attempted to call for air cover from the Pentagon. Fig was providing suppression fire when one of the metal scorpion's missiles exploded behind the soldier, seriously injuring him.

After command was contacted and the scorpion repelled, Lennox and Epps went to check on their downed friend. Fig had a pulse and was carried off on a stretcher and evacuated by helicopter. Transformers (2007)

* A later scene where Lennox comforts the dying Figueroa was cut from the theatrical release of the film, but briefly seen in the December 2006 trailer. The scene survived in both the novelization and the childrens' novelization where (despite many changes made to tone down descriptions of violence against robots) he still died. Go fig!

* His line in the movie, when the phone tower falls down, translates as ""What the hell do you mean, what was that? That tower fell over and almost killed me! If that thing had come any closer, it would've broken my ass!"

*His name is possibly a reference to artist and toy designer Don Figueroa.
Frenzy is small, sneaky and... likes to keep up on current events. He's a hyper-articulated, hyper-active, sentient evil alien shape-changing robot from outer space that turns into various small electronics devices depending on the situation at hand and a penchant for pantsing people. But he doesn't shrink (because that would be unrealistic), so he's quite a good contortionist. He's not that tough without his head, and he loses it frequently. In short, he's a creepy little abomination, with an irritating habit of reading over people's shoulders and jibbering at lightning speeds in his own tongue.
Ghosts of Yesterday novel
Frenzy is the smallest member of the Nemesis' crew. He likes to sneak-attack from behind Autobots while they're concentrating on his larger teammates. He doesn't fare well in this particular battle but is presumably repaired at some future point.

Transformers (2007) film
:Voice actor: Reno Wilson (English)

A skittering little spaz, Frenzy smuggled himself aboard Air Force One disguised as a CD player boom-box. He made his way to the lower decks, carried by an unsuspecting flight attendant who was on a vital mission to the storage area to "rustle up some Ding-Dongs" for the President. Once left alone, he got into the server area, and began to simultaneously hack the national database and upload a virus, re-attempting the hack that Blackout had tried at the SOCCENT Base in Qatar earlier. This attempt was discovered by government agent Maggie Madsen, and the defense network was shut down in order to halt the hack. Frenzy was pissed, but he got the virus uploaded, which would later shut down global communications, and got a little bit of info on what he was looking for.

He was discovered by Secret Service agents, who he quickly dispatched with his machineguns and disc-blade launcher before hiding away in boombox form again. When Air Force One landed, he escaped through the landing gear, slipping into the awaiting Decepticon Barricade. After flipping the military the bird and complaining about how the "insects" shot at him, he updated Barricade on their next target... a human called "LadiesMan217".

When Barricade was forced to go to robot mode in order to handle Bumblebee, he released Frenzy to chase the humans the Autobot was guarding. Frenzy managed to tackle his primary target and even managed to get his pants off him (kinky!), but the other human attacked him with a power saw she'd found and cut his head off. To add insult to injury, Sam punted the Decepticon's head away. It was actually to Frenzy's benefit, however, as he landed not too far from Mikaela's purse, which had spilled when Bumblebee had dumped them out earlier. Still alive and ambulatory despite losing most of his body mass, he speared and scanned Mikaela's cel phone, changed his form to match it, and hid out in her purse.

Frenzy stayed hidden, watching the activities of the humans and Autobots until they were taken to Hoover Dam. Frenzy slipped away then... and fell off the side of the dam, landing painfully at the bottom. This did allow him to sneak into the secret Sector Seven operations hangar deep within the dam, where both the AllSpark and Megatron had been kept for nearly a hundred years. He tapped into the AllSpark's power to restore his body, and sent a signal to all the Decepticons on Earth that their prizes were here. He also killed a few technicians, letting him screw with the cryo-stasis machines that kept Megatron entombed, while Starscream destroyed the powerlines outside, allowing the Decepticon leader to escape.

When Agent Simmons, Secretary Keller, Maggie and Glen Whitmann ran to an ancient storage room to try and get a Morse Code message to the Air Force via shortwave radio, Frenzy followed. While Glen jury-rigged outdated machinery to send the messages, Simmons and Keller tried to shoot the diminutive Decepticon. Frenzy made it into the room via the air ducts, and sent a series of flying blades at the humans. One, however, ricocheted madly across the room, and took out most of Frenzy's head. With a muttered "ohshit", Frenzy collapsed.

:(Note: How fatal this actually was to Frenzy is up for debate. Though presumably his remains would have been gathered up by remaining Sector Seven personnel and disposed of with the other defeated Decepticons, he is not seen again after the storeroom attack. Little bastard could still be out there with the other un-accounted-for Decepticons Barricade and Scorponok, skittering away like mad.)
::(Note: As of this update, this item has not been released.)

Trivia
* Frenzy is the only Decepticon in the movie whose robot mode was created as a real physical puppet for filming, used in certain shots aboard Air Force One. (They did make the lower half of frozen Megatron as a set piece, but that's not quite the same thing.) He and Bumblebee are the only Transformers in the film to have full-body robot mode props.

* According to his profile card, Frenzy weighs 110 kilograms (242.5 pounds). How much of that mass would be discernible to a human lifting his stereo mode is unclear.

* Frenzy transforms into a real on-the-market GPX portable stereo. You know you want one.

* Frenzy (or at very least, a robot who looked just liked him) was most certainly NOT in a cage in the back of the Sector Seven Mobile Command Unit. You were seeing things. It was swamp gas. No wait, a weather balloon. But DEFINITELY not a robot alien from outer space.

* The hardcover Movie Guide written by Simon Furman describes Frenzy as "quiet" and "not very talkative". Okaaay...

* Curiously, Frenzy is the only Decepticon with blue optic lighting. The small figure of him that comes with Barricade seems to rectify this by having his optics painted red to match up with the rest of his comrades. Just as well, considering that within the film itself Brawl is also overtly called Devastator, one would wonder if such a thing might be changed by the time the Ultimate Special Collector's Limited Edition of the DVD comes out.
Agent Reginald "Reggie" Simmons is the current head of Sector Seven in a long line of Simmonses in charge of Sector Seven. His great grandfather pulled N.B.E.-1, the first-discovered Transformer, out of the ice, and his grandfather and father prepared Sector Seven against the day that more N.B.E.s would arrive on Earth. He takes this work very personally. After all, it's in his blood.

He's a just a smidge off his nut&mdash;eccentric, weird, crazy, whatever you want to call it. He's strange, and he wears Sector Seven underwear and clip on ties.

Agent Simmons went to the Witwicky residence when Sector Seven suspected that Sam Witwicky had contact with an N.B.E. they were tracking. Taking Sam and Mikaela into custody, he got to into the bad cop role, threatening Sam with life imprisonment, threatening Mikaela's father's parole, and revealing Mikaela's own criminal record (as well as attempting to hit on her). This worked until a seriously P.O.ed Optimus Prime decided to pay Sam and Mikaela's bail&mdash;by ripping the roof of their SUV off. Though the Autobots easily disarmed the Agents, Simmons revealed that the only communication he was authorized to have with the NBEs was to tell them he wasn't authorized to communicate with them. He also refused to answer any questions from Sam and Mikaela about Sector Seven or how they knew of the Autobots, prompting an annoyed Bumblebee to release lubricant on him. As the Autobots left, Mikaela had Simmons strip as punishment for threatening her father. However, Bumblebee, Sam, and Mikaela were later recaptured.

After arriving at Hoover Dam (and presumably the longest shower of his life), Agent Simmons told Sam and Mikaela that they may have gotten off on the wrong foot. Taking them to see the Mega Man, Sam told Simmons of Megatron's plans. However, Frenzy had infiltrated the Dam, and sent a message to the Decepticons, causing Starscream to attack. Sam urged Simmons to release Bumblebee, saying he would help, but Simmons was only convinced after Captain Lennox's gun persuasion. Simmons, Secretary Keller, Maggie Madsen, and Glen Whitmann managed to send out an S.O.S. through old radios in the Dams archives, while Keller and Simmons provided cover fire from an attacking Frenzy.

Agent Simmons' status after Sector Seven was shut down is unknown.

On the run from the Decepticons, Octane seeks asylum on Cybertron. While in a hidden tomb to fallen Decepticons, he encounters the ghost of Starscream, who is still scheming in death.

Summary
Exiled from the Decepticons, the former Decepticon Octane now makes a living freighting scrap metal from planet Junkion for the Autobots. However, his past catches up to him when a vengeful Galvatron hires a alien bounty hunter, the Skuxxoid, to assassinate Octane. Just after he leaves Junk, Octane's cargo ship is destroyed by a bomb planted by his would-be assassin. Fortunately Octane is merely blown away from the explosion and is rescued by a passing transport ship.

Enraged by this failure, Galvatron dispatches the Combaticons to track and eliminate the exile. Fearing for his life, Octane takes refuge with the Autobots on Earth and seeks the advice of his friend Sandstorm, who at first doesn't believe him. When they are ambushed and the Combaticons concentrate on Octane while leaving Sandstorm alone, however, the Autobot is convinced and the pair escape Earth in an Autobot shuttle.

The two triple-changers stop and refuel at a neutral alien space station, and use the time to discuss the situation at the adjoining diner. Octane shows off to Sandstorm, juggling energon cubes and doing other tricks (possibly in a vain attempted to get to second base with Sandstorm on the first date). The Skuxxoid has managed to track and is foiled in several attempts to do away with the wanted ex-Decepticon - partly due to incompetence, partly due to interference. Finally, the Skuxxoid caves in and attempts to attack Octane by tackling the back of the transformer's head. Octane grabs the alien and demands to know who hired him. When the Skuxxoid says he was hired by Galvatron, Octane decides to go deeper into hiding.

He is followed to Cybertron by Cyclonus, Scourge, and the Sweeps. When the attacking Decepticons pin him down, he seeks shelter in what appears to be a large drainage pipe, but turns out to be the secret entrance to a Decepticon Crypt. While there, he encounters the ghost of Starscream, who conspires with Octane to take control of Cyclonus. Sucessful, Starscream then proceeds to "capture" the runaway Octane. However, they are pursued by the Autobots, intent on protecting Octane. Starscream somehow manages to convince Rodimus Prime to let them go, to the confusion of the other Autobots.

When "Cyclonus" brings the cowering Octane back to Charr, Galvatron is initially furious that the exile was not destroyed. "Cyclonus" convinces Galvatron that the 'traitor' should be interrogated for any information he might know. At a faux display of torture, "Cyclonus" further convinces Galvatron that he has forced an Autobot secret out of Octane. The trio travel to a pre-arranged location earlier agreed to by Rodimus Prime and Starscream, trapping Galvatron in an ambush with many Autobots.

The ambush fails, however, and when Galvatron returns to see "Cyclonus" and Octane discussing his apparent demise, Starscream can't resist gloating, revealing his presence to the Decepticon leader, who proceeds to blast a hole into the posessed Cyclonus' torso. Starscream de-possesses Cyclonus the moment before the blast hits.

As Galvatron orders Cyclonus repaired to top working order, the obedient Scourge is revealed to be Starscream's new host body.
Other notes
Animation and/or technical glitches
* When Galvatron is speaking in the opening sequence of the episode, only his throne is seen, the character is missing.
* While Octane is walking with Sandstorm outside Autobot City, he trips and falls over a rock. The rock actually jumps in front of Octane's foot causing him to fall down. Can't this guy catch a break?

* After Octane gets up and the pair begin to walk again, the background is of deep space, even though they are on Earth.

* When Octane and Sandstorm transform and go off joyriding, for some reason Sandstorm constantly emits exhaust fumes.

* None of the Combaticon lasers sound like traditional Decepticon laser weapons. This will be a common occurance in Season 3, where the Decepticons regularly have old science fiction stock sound effects for their weapons. In fact, when Cyclonus fires upon Sandstorm, his laser sound is the same sound effect when C-3PO is destroyed by Stormtroopers in The Empire Strikes Back.

* Autobot City's wall is very, very low, low enough for Octane and Sandstorm to merely jump over when the Combaticons fire upon them.

* As Octane stuffs his face with 'energon', he makes repeated 'gulping' sound effects.

* When the Decepticons attack Octane on Cybertron, some of the laser fire coming towards Octane is coloured gold, like Autobot lasers.

* Starscream's marker in the Decepticon crypt only has his boots in every shot. Either this is an animation error or somebody in the Decepticons had a sick sense of humour, as Starscream's legs were the only things left after Galvatron destroyed him.

* Silverbolt is drawn with four engines when the Aerialbots go after Cyclonus/Starscream's group.

* When Octane and the posessed Cyclonus are sitting around Decepticon headquarters discussing Galvatron's fate, Starscream/Cyclonus' dialogue is animated as Octane speaking, and vice versa.

Continuity errors
* For some reason Autobot City appears to be deserted, as nobody comes out to investigate the battle with the Combaticons.

* After escaping the Combaticons, Sandstorm and Octane are suddenly flying to a space station on an Autobot shuttle. When did that happen?!?

* The 'energon' served on board the alien space station/space trucker rest stop is drawn and coloured as small orange wedges, rather than the traditional glowing purple cubes.

* The Skuxxoid's laser pistol has a sight as he arms it, but is sightless when he aims it at Octane. The sight reappears in subsequent shots.

* It is unclear what happened after Starscream and Octane deliver Galvatron into Rodimus Prime's trap. Galvatron is surrounded and vastly outnumbered by the Autobots, but appears to escape by the end of the episode, albiet heavily damaged.

Miscellaneous trivia
* In the year 2006, the Skuxxoid uses the high-tech explosive dynamite.

* The female robot Octane ogles on his internets looks surprisingly like Arcee... but with much larger... shoulderpads. Yes.

* When Sandstorm asks if Octane is alright after the latter falls down, he doesn't sound very sincere.

* Sandstorm's cockpit is evidently large enough for Octane to operate him in robot mode.

* For some reason the Decepticon crypt is accessed via a drainage grate.

* The freighter Octane uses at the start of this episode is apparently a common Autobot design, as one is seen entering Cybertron as the Decepticons make their second attempt on Octane's life.

* This episode is the first appearance of Starscream's ghost. He also appears in the G1 episode "Ghost in the Machine" and the 5th issue of the 2010 manga where he possess Guiltar. His ghost makes a final appearance in the Beast Wars episode "Possession" in which he takes over Waspinator.

* Kup oversees Cybertron's security in Shockwave's old tower.

* After Starscream reveals himself to Galvatron, Octane exits the frame, stage left. He is never seen again in the television series.

* Japanese artwork seen in TV Magazine showed Blitzwing as the Decepticon being accosted by the specter of Starscream rather than Octane. This appears to have been the original direction of the storyline, as at that point, Blitzwing had been banished from the Decepticons after his selfless actions in Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5, and was on friendly relations with the Autobots and the Junkions.

As Galvatron orders Cyclonus repaired to top working order, the obedient Scourge is revealed to be Starscream's new host body.

"Sufferin' software! How the devil did they get in here!"
:-- Kup, after seeing the Decepticons fly away with Octane

"Yes... we will interrogate him. Even if its not informative, it will be fun!"
:-- Galvatron

"Ahhh, that's one thing I will say for Cyclonus. He administers a good interrogation."
:-- Galvatron listening to Cyclonus and Octane's faux interrogation

"I'll never tell! (Hey, you got really close that time.)"<br>
"*snicker* You'd better before they discover your bad acting!"
:-- Octane: and Cyclonus/Starscream during their faux interrogation
