:Elita One is an Autobot from the Generation One continuity family. She was once known as Ariel.

Elita One is the female counterpart to Optimus Prime; a powerful warrior, fearless in the face of her enemies, but compassionate to those who cannot defend themselves. She commands a squad of Female Autobots, and has their undying trust and support.

While her pistol is powerful enough to blast Shockwave out of the air in one shot (!), her greatest power is her ability to briefly stop time. Sadly, this ability drains all of her life force, and is almost assuredly fatal, and thus she only uses it in the direst of situations.

When the situation calls for it, she consults the wise Alpha Trion, via a holographic message machine. Alpha Trion is actually her creator, though this fact is unknown to her.
:Voice actor: Marlene Aragon (English); Kazue Komiya (Japanese), Eiko Yamada (Ariel, Japanese)

Nine million years ago, during the Golden Age of Cybertron, there lived a female robot named Ariel, the girlfriend of dock worker Orion Pax. She'd heard that the new "flying robots" that Orion and and his friend Dion admired had put together an army and attacked one of Cybertron's outer cities, but Dion laughingly dismissed her as gullible.

One of those "flying robots"—Megatron—raided the energy storage facility Orion worked at with his transport drones. While Megatron was in the midst of an assault on Orion, Ariel tried to stop him, only to be gunned down herself, by Megatron.

Fortunately for all involved, the time-lost Aerialbots brought the deactivated Orion to Alpha Trion for repairs, who recreated the young robot as the first of Cybertron's new defenders—Optimus Prime. Prime and the Aerialbots then convinced Alpha Trion to try reconstructing Ariel; after agreeing to send some droids for her, Alpha Trion mused to himself that "Elita One" would be a good name for a female warrior. War Dawn

Five million years later, Elita One tried to board the Autobot starship as it took off on its mission to search for energy—wanting to go with Optimus—but she was seemingly destroyed while the ship was attacked during takeoff. The Search for Alpha Trion

But Elita One did not perish. About four million years later, she was in command of a team of Female Autobots, including Chromia, Firestar, and Moonracer, who had been raiding Shockwave's energon supplies in secret for an unknown length of time. Their existence was revealed thanks to Moonracer's carelessness, which subsequently lead to Elita's One capture by Starscream and the destruction of their secret base by Rumble.

Way to go, Moonracer.

Elita was used as bait to lure Optimus Prime into a trap, where he too was captured—and was soon on the block for execution in a vat of acid. Desperate to save her beloved, Elita triggered her time-stopping power, which allowed her to save Prime... but expended nearly all her life-force doing so.

After getting them both out of Decepticon Headquarters, Optimus was able to track Alpha Trion to his secret base. The ancient Autobot repaired Elita to the best of his ability, but revealed to Optimus Prime that only he could save Elita by interfacing to her with his power filter. An astonished Optimus Prime stated that only his CREATOR could know that!

After Elita One was re-energized, she and Prime arrived in time to save both a group of Earth-based Autobots who had followed Prime to Cybertron and Elita's own troops from certain death at the hands of the Decepticons. Notably, Elita shot Shockwave out of the air with a single blast from her pistol.

With their original secret base in ruins, Alpha Trion quickly set the female Autobots up with a new one, full of advanced equipment.

Though regretful that they'd be apart again so soon, Elita One elected to stay behind on Cybertron and continue the fight at home while Optimus and the other Autobots returned to the war on Earth. Of course, this didn't prevent her from telling him not to stay away TOO long... The Search for Alpha Trion
Elita One and her team toppled a colossal Decepticon warrior. Though her team was jubilant at their victory, Elita knew that this one victory was far from enough to win the war, and longed for Prime to return so they could re-take their homeworld.

Dreamwave comics continuity
Elita One and the other female Autobots were an elite squad of warriors under the command of the Quintessons, waiting for intel from their Autobot sleeper agent, Arcee.
: Exclusive to Big Bad Toystore.com, this bust of Elita One is limited to 600 pieces worldwide. The sculpt is based upon her cartoon appearance, though some creative liberties have been taken, such as the fact she carries a large rifle that is similar in design to Optimus Prime's instead of the small pistol in her fictional appearances.

Trivia
*Elita One's name shares the same root meaning as Optimus Prime's... "Best First". For many years, the actual spelling of her name was the subject of much fandom debate. The MC Axis kit finally gave her name the current spelling, and was later backed up by episode scripts. Elita is s presumably derived from "elite," which comes from the Latin electa, meaning "chosen". So her name translates as Chosen One, which makes sense as she was the one Alpha Trion chose to gift the special power and to lead the Femmes.

* A Cybertronian battle scene in Comic Bom-Bom (reprinted in Transformers Generations) depicts Elita One fighting the Decepticons alongside other pre-Earth Autobots.

* According to writer David Wise, he did not intend for Ariel to be rebuilt as Elita One when writing "War Dawn". Whether Ariel was originally supposed to die or if she was supposed to be rebuilt into someone else is unknown.

* Elita One's alt-mode has never been depicted in its entirety. As shown above, only the very front end is seen, as the rest is hidden by Optimus Prime's truck mode. It looks a little like a mish-mash of the alt modes of Wheelie and Arcee.

* In the War Within graphic novel, Elita One's silhouette is depicted on Optimus's mudflap in vehicle mode, similar to the "naked lady" silhouette decal seen on modern vehicles.

* If we think about it, since Optimus and Elita One have the same creator, they are, in some way, brother and sister, which just makes their relationship look plain weird. (Well, maybe not in Japan.) The events of War Dawn show that Orion Pax and Ariel existed as non-siblings before they were remade into Optimus Prime and Elita One, but still...

*Her appearance in the Classics continuity is apparently designed with a redeco/retool of Thunderblast in mind.

The United States of America is a nation-state on the planet Earth. It is considered to be one of the world's two "superpowers," along with its rival, the Soviet Union. The American government is headed by a president. Interaction between that government and Transformers operating on Earth is a near inevitablity in most dimensions of the multiverse, although whether that relationship is friendly, adversarial, or somewhere in between varies.

Generation 1
Animated continuity
After the initial Decepticon threat was repulsed, Spike Witwicky wrote in his journal that "all of the world's governments" were assisting the Autobots' attempts to return to Cybertron. This would presumably include the United States.

Marvel Comics continuity
:(Note: Events from UK-only stories are in italics.)
Not long after awakening on Earth, the Autobots sought to forge an alliance with the human authorities. They contacted the US Government asking for a meeting with the President of the United States to discuss matters. Their offer was accepted and Optimus Prime, Prowl and Warpath traveled to Washington, D.C. to visit the White House.

Unfortunately Soundwave intercepted a human communication giving details of the meeting. Unwilling to risk an Autobot-Human alliance, Megatron activated the Insecticons and sent them to Washington to sabotage the talks.

The Insecticons attacked at just the moment that Optimus Prime and the President met. They attempted to discredit the Autobots by pledging to destroy in the name of Optimus Prime. They then headed for the city and began to cause mindless destruction

Horrified, Optimus Prime led Prowl and Warpath in a counter attack that eventually drove the Insecticons away. Prime then decided that the humans would never believe that the Insecticons were not Autobots and leaves Washington to go back to the Ark.

The President meanwhile was initially convinced that the Autobots had been set up and allowed them to deal with the Insecticons themselves. When the Autobots then failed to return, the President concluded that he had made a mistake and misjudged the Autobots’ good intentions. He vowed never to make that mistake again.

After this the Autobots’ relations with the US Government continued to deteriorate. The Government assigned the shadowy organization Triple-I to find a way to protect the public from the Transformer threat. Triple-I engaged the Transformers on a number of occasions, although it was usually the Autobots who came off worse.

Over time tensions seemed to ease, mainly due to the efforts of G.B. Blackrock who on several occasions attempted to convince the authorities of the truth of the Autobot/Decepticon conflict.

This ultimately seemed to meet with some success leading to Blackrock forming the Neo-Knights, a group of superhumans that the President then sent to attack a battling Shockwave and Scorponok just before they were transported back to Cybertron by Primus. As this led to most Transformers being removed from the planet, tensions were finally eased.
Shouldn't we refeare to Optimus Prime as Convoy in the articles on the JPN shows?

Sentenial Prime shouldn't be in the first paragraphs, as he's not in all contuities

Dreamwave Continuity
The article says: "Optimus Prime started life as Optronix (Orion to his friends)"

Does anyone have an issue reference for this (the Orion part)? I admit that my DW knowledge isn't too great, but I don't recall this.--G.B. Blackrock 15:16, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
It's from the Keepers Trilogy. -Derik 17:03, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
:That explains it, then. I don't really consider the Keepers Trilogy as canon, never having bothered to read it. However, since it is official, it's appropriate here.--G.B. Blackrock 17:33, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

::Cannon's a touch call witht he Keepers Trilogy. The Optronix thing, for isntance, was originalyl drafter for Optimus Prime's MtMtE profile (IIRC) but the MTMTE thing was drasticly re-tooled midway through, and so it didn't make it intot he entry-- but apparently Scott Ciencen had access to a draft of it which he used for Prime's backstory.

::As for the Keepers Trilogy's overall continuity... it doesn't mesh any WORSE than the first Dreamwave mini-series. (Faint praise though that be.) Plus it made some definite motions to align itself mroe closely to the comcis co ntinuity at the endof the 3rd book. ...and if I remember my timeline right, Superion's head showed up in Anihilation before it would have been written into TF#0. -Derik 00:34, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Stuff
"Auntie" was, so far as I know, not an acronym. As well, it was definitely the name for the Ark's computer in the US, so I removed the italics as I didn't think those events/reasonings were UK-specific.

As well, the Intraformers competition is not from the UK - it's from Sureshot's Transformers: Universe profile. But as I didn't look it up yet, I wasn't sure if I should un-italize the mention of "before he was named Optimus Prime" that's mentioned with it. --Monzo 03:14, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

:Marvel continuity, from the intraformers sharpshooting competition arose, never had a 'pre optimus Prime.' He was always just Optimus Prime. (And was called such even when a junior officer, as seen in the Underbase saga.)
:Optimus Prime was a gifted athlete beginning to study for a medical profession when the war broke out. Presumably the shooting competition was part of Prime's athlete days- shooting is an Olympic sport after all. (Well, part of one.)
:If you want to split the difference on the entry, I suggest changing 'before he was named Optimsu Prime' to either before the war began or before the war began in earnest. The latter is only loosely justified by the text of comics continuities (the city-ststes had standaign armies and apparently fought- the great games were suppsoed to be a formalized sublimation of this) but it does have the marit of fitting well with War Dawn (and thus fits the new post* continuities which've come along that smosh both continuities together) without actually being wrong in the context of its original occourence. -Derik 03:26, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Beast Wars Primal
Do we want to include the BW Bat Primal and the first MUNKY Primal as toys of Prime? In all one piece of media Bat Primal appeared in, he was definintly Prime with a new name, and the same can be said for Ultra MUNKY's specs. I can't remember if it's been brought up before, but if it has, I can't find it.
: It's been a topic of discussion, but I think most of it has kept to IRC so far. The red/blue "Convobat" from Japan may even have text on the back that says it's the original Prime, and the purple alligator Megatron that came with it has text that mentions a Walther P38, but we haven't pursued further translation. --ItsWalky 00:56, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
::Actually, we did, and it specifically says on both of them that they used to have those modes and are now animals. The problem, of course, is whether that makes them any more "really" Prime and Megatron than the US versions, or for that matter the Ultra toys in either country. Remember that Japan didn't even get a yes-or-no on whether they were the same guys until Metals. My personal preference would probably be to consider all of them Primal and BW Megs toys, despite how much I want the CD guys to be the G1 characters, or else we get into a bizarre continuum of "bat is Prime/ape is both/TM is Primal" which is confusing and not helpful, I think. -LV 01:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Parody trivia
I don't think we should include in trivia (or anywhere else) all statements done in all the parody. I know the family Guy Jewish Prime is notorious, but if we start including that, we should as well mention Prime turned a movie for prostate cancer prevention. I think canon is difficult enough to determine by itself.
Also, if we had to seriously think about Optimus's religious orientation, he is most probably a Primus believer. Unless being Jewish for a transformers is about not believing Rodimus Prime is the new Primus incarnation, but in that case, most of the Transformers are probably Jewish.

The big-game hunter Lord Chumley begins hunting Autobots.

Detailed synopsis
At the start we see a female Russian pilot testing out her country's new Jet over the North Pole. She is suddenly attacked and forced to ejected. The only thing we see is a mysterious shape under the ice stealing the Russian jet.
The scene the moves to a remote castle where Lord Chumley and his clumsley Butler are admiring all their throphies, which are all veichles from various contries including the stolen Russian jet. Chumley however wants a bigger prize in which his butler suggests the space shuttle. Chumley, however, has something bigger in mind. He plans to hunt down Optimus Prime and mount his head on a wall ( He even had it all prepared with a wall frame stating 'insert head here'!)
Meanwhile Bumblebee and Tracks are patrolling the city and notice on the news that Russia is accusing America of stealing their new jet. The two Autobots then spot Astrotrain and Blitzwing and chase them into an alleyway. However they appear to be illusions and are captured by Lord Chumley. Chumley's plan was to kidnap (or Autobotnap) Prime's friends so he could lure him to his castle. And somehow he manages to capture some of them in the most bizarre traps. For example he captures Blaster using an electronic Billboard?! He even tried to capture Hoist with a lamp post! He even impressed Megatron who orders Astrotrain and Bliztwing to go and meet Chumley to ask for an alliance.
Optimus Prime, like any other respected leader, is worried about his missing comrades and for once doesn't think its the Decepticons. Cosmos then radios in Prime to show him that the captured Autobots are subjected to torture. Chumley then intercepts Cosmos signal by inviting Prime to his castle. Prime agrees and, just to show how very angry he was, sent an overload feedback causing Chumley's monitor to explode.
At the castle Prime is tauted by Chumley and is attacked by a large lizard. Prime defeats him and Chumley tries to bag Prime in a net. Prime dodged it and shouts back to Chumley that it will take more than a net to stop him. However the second net sends Prime to the ground but he escapes using a chain and an electrical tower.
Now Astrotrain and Bliztwing arrive on the scene and start to follow Prime. Prime now comes across something so original...a crying damsel in a torn pink dress. But Prime isn't stupid and leaves her. Of course the Decepticons don't have brains and in attempt to crush the damsel, Bliztwing gets his foot caught in a trap and is now covered in a green goo that prevents him from moving and talking.
Astrotrain can't free Bliztwing and continues following Prime. Now Prime is up against a giant robot scorpion with a T.V monitor showing Lord Chumley's face (where the hell does he get this stuff from?) and Prime is forced into combat. Astrotrain fires at Prime causing to black out. Chumley is now mad that he didn't get the honor of killing Prime himself and attacks Astrotrain. Believing Prime is dead and now worthless, leaves him and takes the two Decepticons to his castle.
Astrotrain and Blitzwing tell Chumley that they were here to lend a hand but Chumley says he's got plans for them. The captured Autobots said that they've done nothing wrong and want to be released but Chumley says that they had to pay the price. Bumblebee then tries to contact Prime, who is not dead, and gives him a homing signal.
Lord Chumley sees Prime heading for the castle and is rejoiced that his game his still alive and ready for killing. The next challenge Prime has to face is...(will someone please tell me he he affords this stuff?)...a giant robot black widow...didn't see that coming. Prime defeats it and continues to rescue his comrades and he is very ticked off. Chumley then uses his last secret weapon! Which turns out to be...(oh this is ridiculous) a giant revolving room (sarcastic wow). This prime also destroys and now he is mad. Chumley's last resort is the aid of the two Decepticons who turn on him rather then helping.
However Prime had freed his friends and the Decepticons retreat. Prime then says to leave them and that Chumley was the trophy he wanted.
In Russia a Russian Soldier finds the stolen jet with Chumley tied to it. As the Autobots roll for home the Russians have called off the threats and the world thanks Optimus Prime.
