:Undermine is a Jungle Planet Decepticon from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Undermine is one of Scourge's enforcers, keeping the Jungle Planet populace pacified, which has put him on his own brother Repugnus' enemy list. He serves as a silent spy and assassin for Scourge, hunting down dissidents, learning their secrets, then usually closing in for the kill. He is said to be one of the greatest hunters in the galaxy.
Centuries ago, Undermine appeared to a much younger Scourge as an innocent traveller who had been attacked. His mistreatment by extremely vague and undefined aggressors spurred Scourge to abandon Backstop's teachings and wage war against both the ineffectual rulers of Jungle Planet and the criminals that stalk the lawless lands. As Scourge grew in power, Undermine attached himself to the warlord, serving as Scourge's bodyguard alongside Brimstone. Honor

Much later, Undermine and Snarl were doing what they always did, standing around outside Scourge's temple when two strange beings appeared, walking toward the temple entrance. Moving quickly to bar their way, Undermine warned that the strangers should leave this sacred place, lest they face the consequences. When the large being, named Megatron, merely pushed them out of the way, Undermine leapt to attack, only to be effortlessly swatted aside. After Scourge appeared and Megatron explained his search for the Cyber Planet Keys, Undermine joined his fellows in transforming dramatically into beast mode... for no apparent reason as they immediately ceased hostilities afterwards. Search

Later, he watched Megatron and Scourge face off. He was impressed and applauded, and so did his beast mode head! Deep
Scourge had a bodyguard prior to Undermine, a nice guy named Shrapnel. This did not please Undermine, who proceeded to forge evidence of Shrapnel insulting the current administration. This evidence shortly left a vacancy Undermine was more than willing to fill.
: Undermine transforms into a robotic Spinosaurus, albeit one with a sail that more resembles a fish's dorsal fin. Plugging a Cyber Planet Key into the back-end of his dino-mode sail reveals a spring-out blade, a gimmick also usable in robot mode as a horn. His dino-tail detaches to form a flail-weapon in robot mode, which plugs into holes in the tops of his hand-claws. He comes with a silver-bordered Jungle Planet styled Cyber Planet Key; the Hasbro version has the Key Code "s48a" stamped on the back.

: The Hasbro and Takara versions of the toy have a pretty significant difference in their coloration: Hasbro's is a higher-contrast scheme, using a more subdued light-green with a deeper forest-green, while Takara's has a more vibrant light-green but uses a pale camo-olive green rather than the Hasbro version's dark-green.

: This mold was also used to make Cybertron Repugnus.
Notes
* Undermine is one of the few Transformers who canonically have more than two arms in robot mode. Though his dino-mode forelimbs fold up into his chest in robot mode, in the Cybertron cartoon, they are shown as being just as animate as they are when he's in beast-mode.
* Like his wave-mates Backstop and Wreckloose, Undermine from the 2010 Transformers toyline may represent a different character from another unidentified continuity. He is a capable warrior, but never has anything but a discouraging word to say in any situation.
The Cybertron toyline continued many of the design trends of Energon. The line's toys are thematically built around six planets, but feature one unifying feature: the cyber key. These clear-plastic disks with key-like projections now activate special weapons and hidden features, much like the Mini-Cons of Armada, even on most figures remolded from previous lines. Redecos, like the Cybertron release of Armadas Super-Con Optimus Prime, come with remolded keys that have a mini-con connector to unlock gimmicks. The gimmicks are less intrusive than Armada; articulation suffers far less for their inclusion, though some lower-priced figures do lack a little when compared to Energon. Combination has largely disappeared — but not completely.

Each toy is assigned a planet. This determines which Cyber Key is included, but also seems to correlate with some design choices, as will be seen below. Each Cyber Key comes with a code printed on the back. For a list of codes, go to Cyber Key Codes.
Earth Planet toy overview
These generally convert into fairly normal Earth vehicles. Robot modes are angular and normally proportioned for humanoid transformers. Faces are traditionally styled.

Speed Planet toy overview
Alternate modes are fantasy racing vehicles, with transparent plastic tires. Vehicle modes are futuristic and occasionally resemble Vehicons or the futuristic vehicle modes of some late Generation 1 Transformers. The Speed Planet robots have their own unique body proportions, generally featuring large upper bodies, long thighs and thin waists. Many of them use twin-barreled blasters or dual cannons in vehicle and robot modes (Brakedown is a notable exception).

Jungle Planet toy overview
Jungle Planet alternate modes are robotic beasts. Their styling is sometimes very organic in shape and even in texture, but not really to the point of techno-organism. Robot modes and faces are widely varied (although most have two fangs protruding from their lower lip), and hark back to the Beast Era in creative differences from the "standard" humanoid model. Jungle Planet designs: Beast Wars Transmetals or Beast Machines Maximals (sharing something of the "liquid metal animal" aesthetic), per the above analogy. They usually wield melee weapons of varying description.

Giant Planet toy overview
Giant Planet robots transform into a variety of construction vehicles. They are gargantuan in appearance, relying on detail and proportion to create an impression of massive size. The Giant Planet toys are roughly in scale with the Legends of Cybertron figures. Of the Giant Planet toys released, two (Metroplex and Menasor) are almost completely alien in appearance, while Quickmix and the Giant Planet Mini-Con Team are fairly "normal", like everyday (albeit oversized) Earth vehicles.

Planet X toy overview
Alternate modes are usually futuristic jets, with the exception being Unicron (who is a futuristic tank). It's somewhat difficult to draw conclusions when only three toys from this planet were released. In general, these are alien in appearance, even more so than the Speed or Giant Planet toys.

Cybertron Planet toy overview
Cybertron Planet toys are the "everything else" category. There are two distinct Planet Keys for Cybertron: one with an Autobot symbol and the other with a Decepticon insignia. Toys with Cybertron Planet Keys range from normal to futuristic. This category usually represents characters who are either part of the "original" Autobot and Decepticon teams searching for the Planet Keys, or those who never left or have an affinity for Cybertron (such as Buzzsaw or Longrack). The unique keys carried by Optimus and Megatron arguably belong in this category, despite being labeled as Earth Planet in their original releases (or Giant and Universal with their respective redecos).

nav-cybertron

Vehicle modes are futuristic and occasionally resemble Vehicon or the futuristic vehicle modes of some late Generation 1 Transformers.
