Christmas is a holiday celebrated by humans on December 25, commemorating the birth of someone called "Christ." It seems to revolve around the exchange of material goods, the slaughter and festooning of conifers, and the consumption of roasted avians. Autobot intelligence suggests that at this time, humans gather together and don't shoot each other.

More importantly, Christmas is the focus of a powerful "spirit" manifesting in charity, goodwill, and appreciation. Even hardened Decepticon warriors and vengeance-driven humans are subject to its influence.

Some Autobots have been known to don a red outfit with a bushy, white beard as part of the Christmas ritual. While not the most extreme example of quasi-fetishistic anthropomorphization among Transformers, this case is notable in its lack of explanation. Perhaps it is related to the similarly-opaque "Christ" figure at the center of the holiday.

Another human custom, Black Friday, is rumored to be the busiest day of shopping for the material goods needed for exchange on Christmas.

** Jazz is clearly mistransformed.
* The whole "Optimus and Megatron fight near/around/on top of a dam" meme reappears here. It also appears in a different mail-away poster, The Power Struggle. This one is particularly of note (as much as any of these things are actually "of note") because the variant name "Boulder Dam" is used, as opposed to the more common "Sherman Dam."
* The poster also included a set of stickers featuring art from the poster, as well as some really unusual headshots of what appear to be Prime, Megatron, Prowl, and ...man, I dunno. Starscream? Prowl also appears in vehicle mode on the sticker sheet, despite not actually appearing on the poster.
* The reverse side of the poster features adapted tech-spec data for Optimus Prime, Megatron, Hound, Soundwave, and Starscream.
Neither do his fellow Decepticons. This is in large part because Storm Surge doesn't believe in aiming. He helped summon an alien entity to rebirth the planet and got to open up the dock that allowed the entity access to the core.
: During transformation, snapping the torso into place forces the head up, making it easier to twist into place. He also has wheels on the underside of his vehicle mode, allowing him to be rolled on smooth surfaces.
Many years ago, Air Raid was a member of Cybertron's science division under Optimus. After a strange relic was uncovered and aliens from the Eshems Nebula attacked, Protector Megatron declared a military dictatorship, demanding the full cooperation of the entire population. Air Raid was one of those who heeded Optimus' plea for them to not abandon their society's ancient traditions and beliefs. Defiance issue 2 After Optimus Prime and his followers were declared traitors, civil war erupted across the planet. Air Raid joined Optimus Prime's Autobots and led aerial missions against the Decepticon fliers. Defiance issue 4

Years later, following the defeat of Megatron on Earth, Air Raid was part of a small Autobot unit led by Arcee that tracked Starscream, now the leader of the Decepticons, to his base on Mars. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Two Air Raid took to the skies in the ensuing assault, but was shot down by Thundercracker. : Part of the third wave of Target-exclusive Scouts, Air Raid is a redeco of the Energon Skyblast mold, transforming into a Cybertronic starfighter. He comes with multiple accessories that can attach to his jet mode for rocket-boosters and an under-slung cannon. In robot mode, these parts re-assemble to form a giant spear, although if preference desires, you can leave them separated and have the spear handle as a hand-held rifle, with the head split in half and clipped to his wrists. Fittingly enough, he has an Automorph gimmick on his chest and head, where rotating the chestplate into position would likewise rotate the head. He is also available at WalMart Packaged with Stormsurge in the "War of the Waves" Multi-Pack.

* Oddly, the toy packaging photo on Target Air Raid appears to be a redeco of Skyblast's concept model, keeping the original's "toes". Considering that redeco concept models are usually unpackaged figures that are then hand-painted to show the new design, they probably grabbed some early-production toys, or even the original model, by mistake.

A "generic" is the fan-coined, unofficial term for any unnamed background Transformer that is clearly not intended to represent any previously existing and named toy/character. Generics are frequently used to fill out crowd scenes and battles, and often (though not always) employ repeated standardized designs (especially in the older material such as the Generation 1 cartoon).

It is rare that a generic gets a speaking part, but it has happened from time to time. However, if the character is given a name he/she ceases to be a generic and becomes a regular old character (see Sunstorm for an example of such an apotheosis).

Notable generics
Generation 1 cartoon
*Seekers - The comparatively low number of Decepticons in the early episodes of the cartoon led to the filling out of the ranks with numerous generics based on the existing cast, most notably the Seekers.

*Reflector - At times, there were more than three. Though to be fair, it's speculated that Reflector was just one guy who could clone himself...

* Rumble/Frenzy body types. Just look at the picture to the right.

*Junkions - Hordes of generic Junkions tended to appear whenever the cartoon visited that planet. Sometimes Lithone character models were repurposed as Junkions.

*Paradrons - The entire population of Paradron save for Sandstorm were generics, especially their medics.

Marvel comics
noteukonly

* The first issue of the Marvel comic featured a very high proportion of generic characters - probably more than any issue of a Transformers comic since. Many of these were recycled from existing character models and some may be simple coloring errors, though a generic that resembles a miscolored Optimus Prime leading the Decepticons' assault on the Ark may take more explaining. A number of the generics in battle scenes tote weapons like Ion blasters and Fusion cannons.

* A generic Decepticon technician of a standard design originally created by Will Simpson for issue #103 was forcibly upgraded into a clone of Megatron.

* Dan Reed drew hundreds of generic "zombie" Transformers for the stories "City of Fear!" and "Legion of the Lost!"

Beast Wars
*Numerous generic Predacons were seen being jostled within Predacon Command Outpost One when the station was struck by the transwarp wavefront. The Agenda (Part 1)

Beast Machines
* Generation 1 character models created for the Beast Wars episode "The Agenda (Part III)" were modified to represent various generic Cybertronian citizens who were infected with Megatron's transformation lock virus.
* A Soundwavey character model appears in Nightscream's flashback. Forbidden Fruit
* A Prowlish character model shows up as a corpse in a Vehicon factory. Revelations Part I: Discovery

Armada
* Autobot and Decepticon forces were filled out using Generation 1 cartoon character models, creating several odd instances of classic characters getting remarkably awkward (and often randomly-colored) cameos. (For example, Hound is on the side of the Decepticons. Not to mention a purple Powerglide)

* Depending on who was animating the episode, the masses of Mini-Cons combined toy-characters with either randomly-colored toy-based models or entirely-new designs... or, in one notable instance, Wheelie's character model!

Energon
* Due to the computer generated nature of the graphics, both Autobot and Decepticon forces were filled out with generics assembled from parts of other existing or unused character models. Wing Saber's original "Wing Dagger" form is one such example of a mixed-and-matched generic character model.
Devil's Due comics
* After the events of G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers left the Decepticons short on troops, in G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers II artist E. J. Su padded out Shockwave's Cybertronian forces with nameless, but intricately designed generics. Sadly the Dinobots arrived, and Dinobots vs. generic Decepticons is always going to end badly for the no-names.
* Also notable is the generic "future Decepticon" composed of a mix of Energon Scorponok, Armada Megatron, and topped with Sky Garry's head appeared on the cover of #3 (as seen to the left) but did not, in fact appear in the issue at all. Instead his place was filled by hordes of generic Ravages, Sweeps and Insecticons. Though multiple Insecticons and Sweeps have been previously seen, this is the first time we have seen clones of Ravage.
* At the series' conclusion, Shockwave is tended by a generic Decepticon medic, who has a similar design to Soundwave.

Animated
In Season 3, many Generics flesh out crowd scenes. Normally these Generics are just randomly colored characters, but sometimes they have new heads and posture, or sometimes even a new gender! This is especially noticeable in "Decepticon Air", "This Is Why I Hate Machines" and "Endgame, Part II".
Live-action movie continuity
Perhaps as an homage to the franchise's long history of generic background characters, or perhaps just to save time, ILM added many re-used and re-colored characters into the backgrounds of the larger battle scenes featured in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
*A protoform army with heads resembling Blackout.
*The Constructicons Long Haul, Rampage, Mixmaster and Scrapper appeared in more than one place simultaneously, creating generics.
*A Buffalo MPV Decepticon resembling Bonecrusher from the first movie.

Cold, distant, quiet. Wreckage is the counterpart to the hot-wired Brawl. Deliberate and methodical in his attacks, he enjoys watching his foe squirm in agony as his twin swords cut deep below their armor. During the subsequent civil war, Wreckage was one of several Decepticons under the command of Starscream during the battle of Tyger Pax. He was finishing off an Autobot with his sword when Brawl arrived with news that Megatron knew where the All Spark was located. After witnessing the successful Autobot launch of the All Spark and Megatron's subsequent pursuit of it, Wreckage left Cybertron with Starscream's group in search of their leader.

Arriving on Earth many years later in Afghanistan, Wreckage scanned and destroyed a human military carrier vehicle sent to investigate their planetfall. He was able to trace the location of the Bargam US airbase and jam their communications to prevent them from calling for help. Under Starscream's orders, Wreckage led the group to attack, initially confusing the soldiers with his vehicle mode. Whilst observing Barricade slaughter human soldiers the latter had tricked, Wreckage was hit with a localized electromagnetic pulse and disabled. Barricade was ordered by Starscream to leave their comrade behind, because either he would recover eventually, or if not, then it didn't matter. Planetfall The Reign of Starscream Issue Number One

Starscream learned from Frenzy's datatrax that Wreckage's body had been claimed by Sector Seven The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Two, and that Wreckage had made arrangements with Sector Seven, incurring the air commander's wrath. The Reign of Starscream issue 4

Buried by his comrades, Wreckage was eventually discovered by agents of Sector Seven who unearthed and transported him to a secret base in Nevada. He was reactivated under the watch of Sector Seven operative Salazar. Trading information for his own survival, Wreckage was deactivated by Salazar after the battle at Mission City that claimed the life of Megatron, due to a growing danger he presented. Alliance issue 2 Salazar was soon inadvertently killed when Starscream escaped Earth, leaving Wreckage inert. Seymour Simmons, however, planned to use William Lennox's Autobot contacts to awaken him... Alliance issue 1

When Optimus Prime left the Allspark sliver with Sector Seven, they brought it underground for safe keeping, despite Professor Vine's insistence that they keep it as far from Wreckage as possible. Vine's fears were well founded: while passing Wreckage's platform to take it to an isolation vault, the sliver was drawn to Wreckage, awakening him. Wreckage broke free, demanding Megatron's whereabouts and for Salazar be given to him so that he could strip the flesh from his frame. As he escaped, he attempts to scan a green jeep as a new alternate mode, but is attacked by Landmine units also activated by the Allspark. This left him with a new green coloration. The Landmine units proved no match for Wreckage, but upon defeating them, he was suddenly confronted with an enraged Starscream, who accused him of treason. Wreckage himself was less than pleased with the Air Commander, feeling Starscream had betrayed him by leaving him for dead. A fierce battle took place, damaging the Sector Seven base and killing several humans, but Wreckage eventually gained the upper hand. Just as he was about to kill Starscream, Bumblebee arrived and shot off said hand, and Starscream thrust his claws into Wreckage's spark core, killing him. Alliance issue 2
Wreckage was one of a group of Decepticons who trapped Bumblebee in a canyon. He stood around on a rocky butte, walking back and forth and waiting for Bumblebee to drive up to him. When the impudent Autobot dropped in (nearly landing on poor Wreckage's head), Wreckage immediately opened fire, blasting Bumblebee over and over and over and over and over. Unfortunately, Bumblebee had the idea to shoot back, blasting Wreckage right out of the picture with just one shot. Or he keeps shooting until Bumblebee falls and then he gathers around with his buddies to celebrate Bee's pitiful defeat. Flight of the Bumblebee

*Wreckage (Deluxe, 2007)
**Japanese ID number: MD-10
**Accessories: 2 spring-loaded blades

: Wreckage transforms into an M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle in urban or arctic camo, armed with a M2 .50 cal machine gun and two other machine guns mounted extending out of the troop compartment. Unusually for a Transformer with a military vehicle alternate mode, Wreckage does not feature significant embellishments to his design, even though he is not a licensed toy. However, his white plastic obscures much of his sculpted detailing.

:His Automorphing feature is activated during transformation by swinging his machine gun down, pushing it against a translucent red panel, which simultaneously raises his shoulders, lowers his torso, raises his head and extends his stomach-mounted cannon.

:The smaller machine gun weapons feature flip-out energy blades that can be held in his hands, mounted under his forearms or on any of the wheels. They can also connect together to form an undocumented but certainly intended double-bladed weapon; mounting this on his forearm wheels gives him an awesome spinning blade weapon.

: There is a minor issue on Wreckage where moving his arms down or towards his back at the shoulder will activate his Automorphing feature and begin to fold the torso back into its vehicle mode position. The best way to avoid this is to hold the grey gun plugging into his back in position while moving his arms.
: A 35-point "Uncommon" card, Wreckage is assembled from punch-out parts of two cards, which can be fit together to make either a robot or a tank. ==Trivia==

*As revealed at 2007's Hasbro tour, Wreckage is the toy company's elaboration of a design for a Transformer abandoned early in the Movie's development. It had no name and was thus labeled Stryker, the name of its vehicle mode.
*It was also revealed at 2008's Designer panel that the reason Wreckage's head doesn't match "Stryker"'s concept art was because Takara couldn't make out the detail from the design sketches that were sent to them. Aaron Archer drew a new head in five minutes, before catching a plane to Tokyo.
* This "Stryker" concept art was later used as a Decepticon piece in the Transformers Risk game.
