:Wheelie is an Autobot, you see, in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Wheelie, so small, is an Autobot child,
But when stakes are high, he gets mean and wild!
He carries a slingshot that shoots hurtful things,
They'll hit you in the nose (the projectile stings!).
He has a speech pattern that's structured in rhyme,
And he hangs out with Daniel most of the time.
Some think he's annoying and wish he would die,
His answer to that? Here's death in your eye!

:Hungarian name: is basically the same.
:However in the movie's first dub, Ugrabot was the name of the bub
:In French-Canada our little fellow chooses to be called: Tourbillo
:The English/Malay dub that's oh-so-silly often calls this little bot: Willy
:The Italians thought that they could do better, so in their dubbed movie they called him: Saetta
:For non-movie media, they tried something cuter. For everything else, they named him: Scooter
Cartoon continuity, from our childhoods you see
The 'toon from Generation 1, where it all had begun
:Voice actor: Frank Welker (English), Kazue Komiya (Japanese).

On far off Quintessa his ship it did crash,
Wheelie survived, but his ship turned to ash.
Though friendless and alone, Wheelie stayed alive,
For Wheelie is strong and the strong must survive!
One fateful day, the Dinobots came in search of their friends,
So Wheelie gayly offered to help them meet their ends.
With his confident walk and his whimsical talk,
Wheelie earned the respect of the Mighty Grimlock!
Then with the help of Hot Rod, Kup and the rest,
Wheelie returned to Cybertron, most can attest.
The Transformers: The Movie

In 2006, for all that it's worth,
He had to bring Metroplex's cog down to Earth.
To accomplish the task, they paired him with fast-talking Blurr,
But Galvatron stranded them on Io, that villainous cur!
Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3

Being attacked by lipoles, things began to look grim,
Luckily, Marissa and Sky Lynx came to rescue them!
With the cog at last delivered, Metroplex came alive,
He thrashed Trypticon and that vile villain took a dive!
Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4

With Grimlock and Blurr, Wheelie listened to Kup,
As he yammered on and on and refused to shut up.
His story was about the Ick-Yaks on Dread,
But when Grimlock mentioned Chaos, Kup lost his head!
Chaos (episode)

With his good buddy Daniel, they found a horrible place,
A haunted mausoleum built for the Autobot Race!
Attacked by Decepticons, they were saved by a zombie,
Whose shambling shape sent Daniel running for Mommy!
Dark Awakening

Not long after that, with no assignment or mission,
Wheelie volunteered for a fun competition.
But the timestream was getting all out of place,
And Wheelie got stuck in an unending race!
Forever Is a Long Time Coming

On Earth Wheelie witnessed crimes that were weird,
As multiple landmarks just disappeared!
The Dinobots were suspected, but he didn't buy the hype,
Because the true criminal was an ethnic stereotype!
Thief in the Night

In his biggest adventure, Wheelie searched for a way,
To deduce the exact date of Magnus's birthday!
He knew finding the truth would be kind of tricky,
So once again he paired up with Daniel Witwicky.
Their search led them straight to a storage asteroid,
Being spied on by Cyclonus (how paranoid!).
Cyclonus took them hostage and made his demands,
But Magnus wouldn't leave them in villainous hands!
When Magnus arrived, he charged straight at his foe,
But as they went at it, little did they know,
That Wheelie snuck past them and pressed the self-destruct,
Which meant if they lingered they would surely be ****ed!
So Cyclonus retreated as the asteroid blew up,
And Magnus saved the kids from their monumental screw up!
As it turned out, Magnus didn't know his own birthday,
So their entire adventure was pointless, anyway.
Surprise Party

With other Autobots, Wheelie found Paradron,
A utopian planet that Sandstorm lived on!
Galvatron tried to take it and make it his base,
But gave up when Ultra Magnus blew up the place.
Fight or Flee

On another adventure, Wheelie didn't do much,
But fill out the crowds, standing around and such.
Grimlock's New Brain

Wheelie was slightly more active in his next major caper,
As Cybertron was being drained of its energy vapor!
Wheelie shot at a Tornedron as a spider bathed in light,
But Tornedron drained his life, leaving Wheelie's body white.
Call of the Primitives

Wheelie, Kup, Bumblebee, and Blurr happened on a human's plot,
And when they battled a plagued Superion, Wheelie was shot!
The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1

He was revived by a Quintesson who tried to work faster,
But when Optimus Prime set out, they replaced him with Blaster!
By 2011, Wheelie was too petulant to rhyme,
He blamed everything on Chromedome, like, all of the time.
Although a jerk to the core, Wheelie was not all alone,
He hung out with Daniel and the two were quite danger-prone.
When Slugfest and Overkill, took hostage Carly and Spike,
Daniel went berserk and started to strike!
Sending the Cassette dinosaurs running back home,
Soundblaster was left open to an attack from Chromedome.
As the Autobots left Earth, Wheelie and Daniel said "Goodbye".
Kup also came to give Wheelie a scolding,
All Transformers series generally include a theme song using these lyrics, but not necessarily in this order.}}

Generation 1
The original, classic Generation 1 theme tune by Anne Bryant and Ford Kinder, with its simple, iconic repetition of the brand's rhyming slogans, "More than meets the eye," and "robots in disguise," has formed the basis of most Western Transformers theme tunes. Used as both the opening theme of the animated series and in the multitude of toy commercials over the years, it's pretty much burned into the mind of every twenty-something on the planet, and maybe their parents as well. You say to someone, "Transformers?" and it's not unlikely that you'll have them jingle back "Ro-bots in dis-guise!"

Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of the series feature their own distinct renditions of the theme tune, with season 3's version being especially distinguished by the unusual "Ah-aah!" chant that runs throughout it. For The Transformers: The Movie, composer Vince DiCola created several new versions of the tune (featuring instrumental pieces included in other parts of the movie's score), sung by Ed Fruge, Gary Falcone and Stan Bush, although ultimately, the finished movie used a power metal arrangement by Lion with additional verses in between the familiar chorus.

Various iterations of the theme were incorporated into many pieces of the show's stock background music, which was composed by Robert J. Walsh.

Beast Era
As the first new Transformers cartoons since Generation 1, Beast Wars and Beast Machines featured new theme tunes that owed nothing to the original; in years to come, this would make them the distinct exceptions amongst their animated brethren. Beast Wars features an instrumental theme tune with occasional roaring shouts of "Beast Wars!" (unless you live in Canada, in which case they were shouting "Beasties!"). The theme was composed by Robert Buckley, who composed and performed all of the show's background music as well. The motifs of the Beast Wars theme show up in many scenes during the show itself.

During the episode The Agenda (Part 2), Decepticon-turned-Predacon Ravage turns on the Maximals, declares "Decepticons Forever!" and transforms to his G1 cassette-mode, slotting into a control panel. For this brief moment of uber-fan-wank, Mainframe wanted to briefly insert the original G1 theme, but were unable to acquire the rights. Instead Ravage's transformation was set to the original G1 transformation sound, and lo, there was much rejoicing.

Beast Machines stands out even further, having licensed the pre-existing song, Leftfield's "Phat Planet," to serve as its theme, though with several additional SFX such as animal snarls and gunfire for the background. However, Buckley continued to supply background music for the show itself, though it had more of a hip-hop/techno feel than its predecessor. Another song related to Beast Machines, "Evolution Revolution," was produced by FoxKids for use in preview materials but was not heard in the series itself.

Robots In Disguise
The fandom just about wet itself when Robots in Disguise became the first cartoon since Generation 1 to employ a variation of the classic theme tune, although there were a few surprises along the way. First, an mp3 of what appeared to be the new theme tune was released online, but when the series actually debuted, everyone was a bit surprised to discover that its theme was an entirely different variation of the G1 theme, most notable for adding the new line, "Change before your eyes," in place of "more than meets the eye." The mp3 turned out to be the new commercial jingle by Marc S. Pearlman, which featured in commercials for all subsequent lines. The actual opening theme used in the show was arranged by Saban mainstay Paul Gordon; an extended version of the theme song can be heard on his website, Stay Awake Music.

The Unicron Trilogy
Armada followed this trend, featuring a trance version of the classic theme, sans lyrics (with a narrator lecturing the audience on the premise of the show instead). A second arrangement, however, was included as an "insert song" during episodes, and featured the traditional "more than meets the eye" and "robots in disguise" lines. The Armada video game, meanwhile, included a stirring orchestral version of the theme composed by Ric Formosa, which... well, totally kicked ass, frankly. It also included a metal version by Dropbox, an odd techno version by Regurgitator, and a funk version by The Brown Hornet, the latter of which was used over the end credits.

The Energon cartoon's theme was quite frankly horrible, featuring another new version of the classic theme, this time with lyrics, the transformation sound mixed in where it didn't really fit, and a quite frankly cringeworthy keyboard solo during the middle eight. Needless to say, it did not stand out in any great manner.

This was the cue for Cybertron to really shake things up, offering a unique version of the tune by British DJ Paul Oakenfold, with energetic shouts of the brand and faction names. Perhaps most significantly, it featured the return of the long-lost line, "Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons"—albeit simply spoken by Oakenfold during the middle-eight, rather than sung.

While the themes weres certainly unique and bearable at the start of the shows, they unfortunately became grating (particularly Energon's) after they were included in sans-lyrics form over every stock footage sequence in the show...that is to say, lots of times.

Live-action films
As part of the viral marketing for the live-action movie, an mp3 of Linkin Park soundalikes "DECEPTIBOT" performing a song that included the classic theme as a chorus was released online. This song didn't feature in the movie or on the soundtrack, though. Instead, Mutemath performed a <strike>whiny and emo</strike> laid back version of the tune for the soundtrack, although it didn't appear in the film itself. Ironically, the Deceptibot theme does appear in the IMAX extended cut of the film, though none of the lyrics are heard. Before those, Black Lab had done a cover of the original Lion theme. Fans had hoped this would be the main theme, but it wasn't, sadly. It is, however, on Technologie, their latest album, Amazon.com, Lime Wire, and iTunes.

In 2009, the Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack featured a cover of Lion's version of the Transformers theme song by the American band Cheap Trick.

Animated
Animated continued this tradition with yet another new variation of the theme by Andy Sturmer and Sebastian Evans II, including an entirely new rhyming couplet, "More than they appear/Justice, bolts and gears!" However, because the opening credits had to be shortened from one minute down to thirty seconds, this new verse had to be omitted from the final broadcast version of the opening. The full, uncut theme song is available on the DVD that comes in the Optimus Prime vs. Megatron - The Battle Begins 2-pack.

Theme songs in other countries
There are many Japanese themes, with different openings and closings for each series. Many different performers contribute songs over the years. One of the songs is totally about how Star Saber wet the bed as a kid. Seriously. The opening for Car Robots ("Honoo No Overdrive" performed by Kōji Wada) has the lyrics "Go Boy! Convoy!" It's kind of dubious.

The French one is pretty ...French. However, for the French dubs of the Unicron Trilogy, the English theme songs were used. The cartoons were apparently dubbed from the English dub version rather than the original Japanese.

The French-Canadian one uses the same music as the original Season 1 theme song, but with the lyrics translated to French.

In Germany, the Animated theme song is the same, but translated into German. This makes Animated the first Transformers series to air there with a German theme instead of the original.
Sam was willing to trade the remains of the Matrix for his parents, but when he realised Bumblebee had arrived, managed to position Rampage for an attack. After a long battle (which also resulted in the death of Ravage), Bumblebee killed Rampage.

Elsewhere, as Devastator smashed away at the Great Pyramid of Giza after shrugging off Skids and Mudflap, Simmons called upon the United States Navy to fire upon the giant Decepticon. The U.S.S. Kidd fired her experimental railgun, smashing one of his arms to pieces and destroying Devastator. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
:Rampage and the six other Legends class Constructicons combine to form Devastator. In Japan, the Legends class Constructicons are sold individually. Unlike the deluxe toy, he does not feature a "standard" robot mode, but has the (in fiction) jackhammer mode. Also unlike the Deluxe toy, he can stand in this mode. He forms the left leg of Devastator.
:Rampage transforms from a yellow Caterpillar D11 bulldozer into one of two robot mode configurations, the first of which (his actual in-fiction robot form) is distinctly Vehicon-esque. It lacks any functional legs, instead featuring a spring-loaded "jackhammer" assembly. When the figure is bounced along the ground in this mode, his Mech Alive feature is activated, and a pair of pistons that frame his head pump back and forth. The shovel can be removed in this mode and used as a stand. If legs are preferred, his jackhammer splits and his elaborate kibble backpack unfolds, together forming four leg-struts to create a free-standing robot form that is rather centaurian in design. He features real rubber treads which become arm-mounted whip weapons in robot mode. Unfortunately, due to this design, the treads themselves do not function in vehicle mode.

:Like several toys in the Revenge of the Fallen toyline, Rampage has had a mold change done somewhere between his instructions being drawn up and the final version of the toy. On the final toy, the rear flap behind the cabin of the bulldozer runs into a screw section used to hold the robot pelvis together. This change also affects where the rear flap and the bulldozer shovel connect in robot mode. On the instructions, this flap is shown as folding flat against the back of the vehicle and said flap is also folded down much farther in robot mode to connect to the shovel. Strangely, the shovel connection change seems to have been accounted for in the mold change, but not weird conflict in vehicle mode. Unlike some others, this change does not directly affect any of the toy's action features or articulation.
Notes
*Although his correct, finalized name is used in the film (in on-screen subtitles, to be precise), Rampage is listed in the credits under his preliminary name of "Skipjack". Much confusion ensued, since nobody had actually heard this preliminary name before.
