'''Snarl''' is an unhappy, unsociable loner. He grudgingly follows [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]]'s orders and that's about it. He leaves thinking to others. He has few opinions and rarely expresses those he has. Snarl's uncommunicative nature only serves to fuel his sense of isolation. On top of all this, he hates the ungainly stegosaur form given him by the [[Ark]] and feels that the war on [[Earth]] means he may never see his beloved [[Cybertron]] again. Snarl is a profoundly unhappy being.

Only in war does Snarl feel happiness. Only the joy of combat washes away the ache in his spark, and lets him forget anything but the rising thrill of the fight. For these reasons Snarl revels in combat more than even his fellow [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]].

Snarl, along with [[Swoop (G1)|Swoop]], were the second set of Dinobots created by [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]]. They fought the previous Dinobot group who had been tricked by [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] into joining the Decepticons. {{Storylink|War of the Dinobots}}

Soon after a climatic battle between the Optimus Prime and Megatron, the [[Constructicon]]s dug their way into the ''[[Ark]]'' in an attempt to destroy [[Teletraan I]]. Upon the sounding of the alarm, Snarl was among the Dinobots who drove the intruders outside the base. However, the Constructions unleashed their secret weapon by combining to form the mighty [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]]. Snarl was kicked by the giant, ending up hanging over the edge of a river of lava which then proceeded to burn his already damaged backside. It was not a very good day. {{Storylink|Heavy Metal War}}

In the year 2005, Snarl is conspiciously absent in most significant battles in Transformer history, but was present in the aftermath of the Decepticon attack on [[Autobot City]] before dissapearing again. {{Storylink|The Transformers: The Movie}}

: The toy then had its silver changed to green, and ''then'' changed again to red. The final red coloration is the most common, while the green and silver variations go for a little more on the secondary market.

* The original Snarl toy was part of [[Takara]]'s ''[[Diaclone]]'' Dinosaur Robo series. When [[Hasbro]] imported the toy for the ''Transformers'' line, the Diaclone driver mini-figure was dropped and the robot mode's black torso was turned to a more team-matching red.

* Action Master Snarl is the only carded returning-character Autobot Action Master to have an animal/robot partner rather than a giant accessory in the US line. Whether or not his partner Tyrannitron was originally intended to go with [[Kick-Off]] --who got a giant accessory rather than an animal/robot partner like all the other new-character Action Masters-- is unknown.

* According to his toy bio, the ''[[Beast Machines]]'' era [[Dinobot (BM)|Dinobot]] [[Striker]] is rumored to be one of the original Generation 1 Dinobots. If this is true, his stegosaur mode and energy absorbing spinal plates strongly point towards his being Snarl.

'''Roadbuster''' is a powerful and charismatic fighter, usually armed to the teeth, he's an inspiration to other Autobots in combat and a natural leader on any battlefield. Outside of combat though, his natural ease and surety fail him. He simply doesn't know how to handle life out of combat. He becomes the quietest of the Autobots, grows withdrawn and depressed, and is easily bored. He counters this by spending most of his free time between battles either planning for the next one or "demolishing" any random Decepticons he can find. Some Autobots worry about what will become of the heroic and well-loved Roadbuster they know if the war ever ends. Combat truly is his life and without it, he'd might just fade away...

Roadbuster is a member of the elite [[Wreckers]] unit in, well, every continuity he's ever appeared in.

Roadbuster was a rather hardened soldier, deliberately feeding false information to an Autobot who had turned informant for the Decepticons, and stood by in the shadows while Shrapnel tortured the Autobot for the info and then executed him. He also contributed to the important scene in [[Maccadam's Old Oil House]]. Roadbuster meets his fate in the [[Time Wars]], when the Decepticon [[Pathblaster]] weapon explodes in his hands, shortly after spoiling Galvatron's beautiful little face.

During [[Shockwave]]'s rule of Cybertron, Roadbuster was a member of the new Wreckers, a small unit of Autobots dedicated to keeping the peace wherever (and however) necessary. When [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] released the [[Stunticon]]s from their imprisonment in Cybertron's detention banks, the Wreckers were sent in to deal with the escapees. Unfortunately, both Roadbuster and [[Whirl (G1)|Whirl]] were killed before [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] brought the Stunticon combined form, [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]], down.

Roadbuster seems to have been the heavy weapons specilist of the special ops team "The Wreckers" as he carried more armament then rest of the team combined. He carried more armament then an entire Decepticon Assault Group.

: Roadbuster transforms into an orange and green cybertronic jeep armed with a large gun. In robot mode he can hold the jeep's gun, and also has another rifle resembling an M16, and a shoulder-mounted missile launcher. He also wears a large backpack that has a very tall antenna and two articulated handlebars slung beneath his arms. Oh, and mustn't forget the snap-on armor plating that hides the jeep's tires. For a toy of his size class Roadbuster has an enormous number of accessories, of which the rangefinder for the jeep's gun may well be the smallest ever produced for any Transformer. Finding a loose complete Roadbuster can be very challenging--are you sure ''all'' the spare missiles are there? Better count again!
