Synopsis
Optimus Prime, now fully restored to life by Sky Lynx and a Quintesson survivor of the rampant Hate Plague that's infecting the universe, demands to know what has happened during his time on the other side. Sky Lynx recaps the events that had conspired to bring him back, including Jessica Morgan's valiant play to save him from total destruction, the discovery of the Hate Plague spores, and the trap laid out by Jessica's father and her partner Gregory Swofford to infect the Autobots with the spores in revenge, which ultimately spiraled out of control. It was thought by Rodimus, before his infection, that Prime would know what it would take to stop the plague. Prime asks who is available, and learns of the injured Autobots. The Quintesson manages to reactivate them, completely rebuilding Bumblebee into Goldbug.

When Kup asks what the plan is, Prime admits that he doesn't have a plan. Without the accumulated wisdom within the Matrix of Leadership (which now resides in Rodimus), he doesn't have a clue as to where to start. That is, until Jessica comes forward with the experimental alloy that she, her father, and Gregory had worked on, which proved strong enough to block the spores. Theoretically, coating Optimus with this alloy would protect himself from the spore's infection and allow him to get close enough to Rodimus to extract the Matrix from him. However, all remaining alloy samples were stolen by the Decepticons. The Autobots decide to retrieve the metal.

Meanwhile, on Chaar, Galvatron is pinned down by his own mutinously diseased soldiers, unable to fight back against their maddening ferocity...until Optimus and his team arrive to save the day, convincing Galvatron that it would be in his best interest to join in an alliance with them. As is his way, however, the Decepticon leader is suspicious of Optimus's motives, especially when he learns they need the alloy he stole, but cannot get a reason for it out of them. He agrees to join in and leads Optimus and his gang down a series of boobytrapped tunnels, their numbers dwindling from the tunnel's natural hazards and the infected Decepticon mob behind them, until only Optimus, Galvatron, Sky Lynx, and Jessica arrive at the alloy's hiding place. Unfortunately, Jessie accidentally lets slip their plan to coat Optimus with the metal after confirming there would be enough of it to do the job, prompting Galvatron to turn on Optimus in hopes of using the process on himself, but he is soon subdued by Sky Lynx. Under coercion, Galvatron loads the alloy onto Prime's trailer, but doesn't notice that an infected Cyclonus has managed to sneak in, infecting Jessica in the process. Jessica, in turn, infects Galvatron, forcing Sky Lynx and Optimus to flee back to Earth.

Once on Earth, Optimus is coated with the alloy, and sets out to find Rodimus. He finds him, taking down infected Transformers with reckless glee, and attempts to reason with him, which fails. Unwilling to hurt his successor, Prime lures Rodimus to a nearby auto shop, attempting to peacefully subdue and talk Rodimus into helping him, but the Hate Plague is overriding any effort to do so, forcing Optimus to knock Rodimus out and take the Matrix back by force. Back at Autobot City, Optimus dives into the Matrix to question the elders of the past in reverse chronological order (of their history) to try and find out any information on the spores. The spirit of Alpha Trion warns him that if he travels too far, he risks becoming lost within the Matrix itself.

During Prime's journey, the Quintesson that revived him notices a troop of infected Transformers attempting to get in, and manages to temporarily shut them out, giving Optimus the time he needs to finally find his answer. He learns that, in a period of pre-Cybertronian history, the Plague has visited the planet before, but was contained and sealed inside the star Jessica and Gregory found it in using sheer wisdom, though even back then, no one had the wisdom to destroy the spores, and now that it has spread so much throughout the galaxy, it's doubtful that anyone has the wisdom to even contain them again. Optimus then realizes that a source of raw wisdom may be available to destroy the infection once and for all: the accumulated wisdom within the Matrix of Leadership.

The infected Transformers finally break into the base, and corner the Quintesson, who begs them to stop. Galvatron grabs a metal pole, intending to impale Prime. However, Prime's chest opens to reveal a glowing Matrix, surprising the Transformers. Asking it to "light our darkest hour", Optimus Prime releases the energy of the Matrix of Leadership, which spreads across the universe and totally eradicates the Plague. It even seems to, at least temporarily, cure Gregory and Jessica's father of their hatred for Autobots, and Galvatron of his own madness; all of them call a truce with Optimus.

It is then that Rodimus (now Hot Rod, without the Matrix within him) notes that the Matrix is now empty, its wisdom supposedly lost in order to stop the plague. Optimus, however, disagrees; they have all become a little wiser, now, and although the Matrix is indeed empty of wisdom, it is up to them from then on to fill it again with their knowledge and experience. Optimus, once again the Autobot leader, ordering his troops to "Transform and roll out".
"I've explained it to you."
"No, not lost. We're all a little wiser now."
"But the Matrix is empty!"
Notes
Animation and technical errors
*The chair Optimus was sitting on is missing at the beginning of the episode.
*Optimus's fog lights are entirely red, even at the bulbs, which should be yellow or white.
*When the small group of Autobots is restored, Steeljaw's paws are over the side of the table in one shot and beside him in the next shot.
*In his first full body shot, Goldbug's head is drawn off-model, with pointier horns, smaller eyes and a much simpler mouthplate that looks more like Optimus Prime's than Goldbug's zigzag-shaped plate.
*As he speaks with the group, the closeups of Optimus's face from the side have the panel on the left side of his head in gray instead of blue. The long shots don't show his mouth plate moving as he speaks.
*When Optimus Prime kneels down to talk to Jessica Morgan, Goldbug's feet (in the background) are colored gray instead of gold, even though his shins are still gold.
*After Kup suggests the Autobots steal the metal back, Steeljaw (who's very close to the camera) is Rampage colored like Steeljaw.
*As the group "rolls out," Kup is shown driving backwards (unless he turns around after the scene transition...).
*The red squares are missing from the tops of Galvatron's shoulders in several shots. His chin is gray in some and dark gray in others as well.
*Optimus's rifle has the basic Autobot gun sound effect rather than its usual sound effect.
*When the Decepticons retreat on Chaar, Cyclonus speaks with Ultra Magnus's voice.
*As Optimus drives through the cave, his trailer is missing its Autobot symbol.
*Just before he transforms in the cave, Optimus' bumper and grille are red instead of gray.
*Just before the team crosses the spider web, Cyclonus is shown in place of Blurr.
*Some shots show the crest on Optimus's helmet framed in gray, while others (such as during his "know you too well" line) have it framed in blue.
*As the energy leeches drop on Optimus, his fog lights are long cylinders rather than short triangles.
*Just before getting infected, Blaster has no lines on his switch plate.
*"We have to get out of here!" - Optimus's faceplate is misaligned with his helmet.
*When Galvatron shoots the top of the cave the second time, some of the rocks stay in mid-air.
*When they enter the Decepticon lab, Galvatron is taller than Optimus. In most other shots, he's shorter than Optimus.
*As Jessica discovers the alloy in the lab, Optimus is missing the Autobot symbol on his shoulder.
*After she makes the discovery, a shot shows the sides of Optimus' midsection in white instead of red.
*When Galvatron is threatening Optimus after they find the heat-resistant metal, Galvatron's cannon has a trigger on it.
*When escaping after Galvatron is infected, Optimus and his cab are coated in the resistant metal before it was even melted down.
*During the aforementioned escape, an infected Jessica Morgan makes a jump for Sky Lynx and there are several frames where it appears as if she had managed to grab hold of his tail...yet he remains mysteriously unaffected by the Hate Plague.
*When he first meets Optimus, Rodimus is missing his Autobot symbol.
*The subsequent shots show Rodimus as semi-transparent.
*As Rodimus drives out of the junkyard a few moments later, he floats above the ground.
*Rodimus's gun fires yellow shots at times and purple shots in others. And what happened to his rifle?
*As Optimus grapples with Rodimus, Rodimus's Autobot logo disappears in a few frames.
*The inside of Rodimus' mouth is gray as he delivers the "no one is innocent!" line.
*The ceiling of the junkyard plant has beams framing the glass, yet the beams disappear when Sky Lynx crashes through them.
*Sky Lynx also disappears after crashing through the glass.
*As Optimus struggles with Rodimus the second time, Optimus's Autobot logo is framed in white in some shots, black in others.
*When Optimus takes the Matrix from Rodimus, the "glow" from the Matrix lags behind the Matrix itself when he raises it up.
*In the next shot, Rodimus is laying there with his chest suddenly closed again.
*When Optimus is talking to Alpha Trion, Alpha Trion is miscolored. He's entirely orange in a few shots.
*When Optimus activates the Matrix, its handles disappear. They're back again in the next shot.
*As Optimus is explaining that the Matrix must be refilled with the future wisdom, he is colored as if he still has the heat resistant metal on him.
*In the same shot, Hot Rod looks bigger than Optimus even though he should be much smaller (especially now that he's not Rodimus anymore).
*In the last shot of the episode, Optimus is missing his smoke stacks, the front of his cab has the gray stripes but the sides do not, and his trailer is again missing its Autobot logo.
*Also in the last shot of the episode, look at Blurr carefully. He clips into Kup and his front end disappears from the frame!

Continuity errors
*Optimus's last line in Part 1 was "This time, no force in the universe can stop me." His first line here is "Now, no force in the universe will stop me."
*Sky Lynx is in two parts at the beginning. He was the full walking bird at the end of the last episode.
*After Sky Lynx's recap, Optimus is seen getting up from a table and walking over to where he was a minute earlier. There was no table behind him in previous shots, and no reason for him to lay down for a moment.
* So....how exactly does Sky Lynx know every single detail of what happened in the previous episode? He wasn't even there when half of those recapped events took place! Unless he turned Metroplex back on...
* If Sky Lynx said that the uninfected Autobots were "Kup,Wheelie, Steeljaw, Bumblebee, and Blurr," then why does it show Blaster, not Wheelie, among the uninfected autobots?
*When the small group of Autobots is restored, Optimus suddenly has his rifle back, though he wasn't holding it in the previous shots.
*Given that the Autobots are in a rush to save the galaxy, why did the Quintessons take the time to retool Bumblebee into Goldbug?
*How did Kup know that Rodimus had been contaminated since he was deactivated by Superion before Rodimus was?
*A close-up of Jessica during the spider-web ambush shows her without her exo-suit, which she is shown wearing immediately before and after.
*The alloy is heat-resistant to the point of surviving a supernova in the previous episode. Yet it now can be melted down to coat Optimus Prime with it.
*The Transformers wounded by Superion included Steeljaw and Wheelie, who are briefly seen at the start. They are then replaced by Blaster. Steeljaw returns a bit later, however, but Wheelie stays gone. Not that this is a bad thing. Wheelie must have stayed with a Quintesson on Cybertron.
*The infected Decepticons work together to fight Galvatron and the others, instead of attacking each other.
*Worse, when outnumbered by the Autobots, Cyclonus orders the other Decepticons to retreat, and they follow his command.
*Sky Lynx doesn't help during the spider attack, even though he can fly.
*When Galvatron and Prime are working together, Prime says, "That's because I know you too well, Galvatron." Yet this is the first time a cognizant Optimus has ever met Galvatron (him being only half-alive back when they met in "Dark Awakening"). Perhaps he just has really good intuition, or knows who Galvatron USED to be...
*Goldbug, Kup and Blaster get infected without being touched. Sky Lynx was right next to them but doesn't get infected. Huh?
*Optimus is coated in the alloy in robot mode. How does his trailer get coated?
*How do the support beams in the junkyard plant hold Optimus and Rodimus' weight?
*How exactly did Jessica get off Chaar?
*Rodimus's Matrix chamber opens via a pair of rectangular swing-out doors much like Optimus' chamber. In "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4," the door opened in the middle of the flame on his chest. In "Dark Awakening", it hinged across the left side of the flame, and the whole design opened to reveal the chamber.
* When Optimus puts the Matrix into his chest, he puts it in kind of... sideways. Surely his months of deactivation haven't made him forget how the thing sat in his chest for millions of years?
* Upon entering the Matrix of Leadership, the first ancient Autobot that Optimus Prime converses with is Alpha Trion. The latter's appearance there is somewhat puzzling, as it was previously established (and later reiterated) that he had merged with Vector Sigma. Alpha Trion's presence makes even less sense considering that it was clearly stated in "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4" that he had never taken the Matrix for himself, thus eliminating the possibility that a "backup copy" of himself had somehow been "uploaded" into it. Years later, of course, the big ol' retcon of the Allspark indirectly rectified this: Alpha Trion's in the afterlife, which one can communicate with through both the Matrix and Vector Sigma.
*The infected transformers work together to find Optimus Prime, instead of attacking each other.
*How exactly does wisdom kill spores?
*In the movie, the Matrix took up the top half of Optimus' chest compartment and was behind a flip-up panel. Here, it fills in the whole (now hollow) cavity with no panel or other electronics to be seen.
*How did they get the alloy off Optimus Prime?
*And why would they want to, if it's so resilient?
*Does anyone else think that Dr. Swofford and Morgan get off waaaaay too easy at the end of the episode? They willingly unleash the hate plague that causes widespread devastation (and probably death) across not just the world but the entire galaxy, just to spite the Autobots, and they get off by just saying "sorry"?
*Then again, we don't actually see Optimus shaking their hands. Burn!

Transformers references
*When Optimus uses the Matrix to cure the Hate Plague, it bears more than a passing resemblance to when Rodimus Prime used the Matrix to destroy Unicron in The Movie. They've even got "The Touch" playing in the background.

*In Japanese continuity, the events of issue 3 of The Great Transformer War take place shortly after this episode, helping to bridge the gap between it and "Four Warriors Come out of the Sky", the first episode of The Headmasters.

Trivia
*The Japanese version of this episode has a slightly alternate ending. After Optimus Prime and the Autobots ride off into the sunset and "the Touch" ends, the music changes to "TRANSFORMER 2010" by Shō Hirose and the scene shifts to a montage of all the major characters from the series.
*The portion of "The Touch" that plays includes the line about "Hell breaking loose," an unusually strong word for an American '80s TV cartoon. Guess the censors were looking elsewhere that day.
*The Sunbow Productions cast list entry for this episode lists Orion Pax as appearing. A flashback to Optimus Prime's early days that was removed for time constraints, you might think? No. According to the dialogue script for the episode, Orion Pax was originally going to be the one to ask Prime why he had returned to the Matrix! Presumably someone on staff caught the error early enough, as Pax's line in the final cut went to Alpha Trion.
*After abusing his own troops throughout Season 3, there's something deeply satisfying in seeing Galvatron being attacked by his soldiers willingly.
*Jack Angel takes over as the voice for Cyclonus following the death of Roger C. Carmel

Wheelie must have stayed with a Quintesson on Cybertron.

Carmel
Defensor
:Defensor is an Autobot Combiner from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The combined form of the five Protectobots Defensor exists specifically to safeguard human life. In many ways he feels about the human race the way a parent would their children and he would give his life away in an instant rather than let one human come to harm. Defensor is emotionally attached to humans on a level that sometimes worries his fellow Autobots. He identifies with them the same way a sheep dog would with its flock or a puppy with its human owners. As far as Defensor is concerned the humans are his "kind." Sadly the titanic robot giant's attempts at personal interaction and friendly exchanges with humans tend to fail. We humans tend to be more wary and frightened of his alien nature and great size than Defensor can understand. Despite this, Defensor is fairly well adjusted mentally compared to almost every other Generation 1 gestalt.

Defensor's most notable ability is a powerful force field he can create within 50ft of his person, but it is very fuel consumptive and he cannot maintain it for long.

Fiction
Marvel Comics continuity
noteukonly

Defensor's birth was prophesized by a dream shared by Optimus Prime and Buster Witwicky, due to their independent connections to the Creation Matrix. Second Generation!

Optimus Prime and Megatron met at a fuel research station with the Protectobots and the Combaticons, planning to brawl over it. Optimus pointed out that with the Protectobots, they had Megatron and the Combaticons outnumbered six to four. Megatron replied that Optimus is terrible at counting, and that the sides were six vs six. Optimus wasn't foiled yet, and revealed that the Protectobots can combine to form Defensor. Once more Megatron foiled Prime, having the Combaticons merge into Bruticus. The sides were still even.

When Ethan Zachary suggested they uploaded themselves to the computer to battle over it safely, both sides agreed. In the virtual world, after each individual Protectobot had taken care of the Combaticon, they combined to fight Megatron, leaving Optimus Prime safely off to the side. Defensor burned the bridge he and Megatron were standing on, letting them both 'die' in the virtual world. It would have worked perfectly had Megatron not cheated. Afterdeath!

Not long after, the Protectobots were summoned by the current leader Grimlock to find and arrest Blaster. They came up against the Combaticons during this mission, culminating in a battle between Defensor and Bruticus in an old train yard. Their battle wrecked the entire area, threatening to kill several human children in the process. Defensor was protected by his forcefield, while Bruticus countered with Defensor's inability to aim. Ultimately Bruticus defeated Defensor by beating him over the head with an entire train. He was only saved by Blaster, freed by the humans, defeating Bruticus by causing an electrical tower to topple on him. Child's Play (issue)
Defensor once reduced Bruticus to scrap with a single shot, dryly noting afterwards that "there's junk all over the street." Later, he attempted to defend the Autobot headquarters against Decepticon attack by using his forcefield, which almost immediately failed. He was blasted back into his component parts by the Decepticons. B.O.T. (episode)

Defensor occasionally appeared during the Autobots' battle with the Decepticons on Eurythma. He didn't seem overly concerned that his chest was standing by his feet at the time. Carnage in C-Minor

In the year 2006, when First Aid was unable to prevent the theft of Metroplex's transformation cog, he left the Protectobots, feeling that he was useless and a liability to the rest of the Autobots. Unfortunately, this left the remaining Protectobots with the unenviable task of resuming their duties as Defensor with only one arm. Defensor safely managed to catch a train thrown by the Decepticons, but remarked that this would have been a lot easier if First Aid had been there. The Ultimate Weapon

When the Decepticons staged a series of nonsensical raids across Japan, Defensor fought his nemesis Bruticus outside a dojo. After knocking Bruticus down, he tried to dissuade him from bringing further harm to the humans, but failed. The Combaticons were soon chased away by Sky Lynx. The Burden Hardest to Bear

Later that year, Defensor was standing guard outside of Swofford and Morgan's lab when the Hate Plague-infected Superion first broke free. The Protectobots transformed and fled in order to avoid infection. Not long thereafter, however, Defensor was attempting to clear a bridge of innocent bystanders when the crazed Superion came hunting for him and infected the Protectobot combiner. He was later seen committing mass property damage. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1
When Menasor attacked a baseball stadium in Japan, intent on turning it into a Decepticon base, the Autobot ally Kenji summoned Defensor and Superion to stop him. However, Bruticus soon joined the battle and laid the smackdown on Defensor, injuring Hot Spot in the process. With their torso component out of commission, the Protectobots were unable to re-combine. {{storylink|Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers issue 5|Fight! The Protectobots rolled out ahead of Metroplex and formed Defensor just as Bruticus and Menasor moved in for the kill for Optimus Prime's forces. He stood there and pointed at them with justice, which did not seem to impress the Decepticons, until Metroplex arrived to blow them away with a single shot from his gun. Scramble City: Mobilization
When the Prime Energy Tower on Feminia was attacked by Devastator, Bruticus and Menasor, Defensor teamed up with Superion and Omega Supreme to fight them. Unfortunately, Galvatron had a fourth Decepticon combiner up his sleeve—Predaking. This new warrior defeated all three Autobot super robots with a single punch. The Story of Super Robot Lifeforms: The Transformers issue 5
In 2011, The Protectobots defended Cybertron from Galvatron's invading army. They formed Defensor and battled Devastator. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky Alongside Superion and Raiden, Defensor got into a shooting match with four Decepticon combiners. They were outgunned until the Battleship Maximus swept in to turn the tide. The Mystery of Planet Master Later, the Protectobots were assembled on Earth by Ultra Magnus. With Hot Rod focused on locating and recharging the Matrix of Leadership, the other Autobots were tasked with running interference for him against the Decepticons. While scouting for the enemy, the Protectobots ran across the Combaticons. Defensor was assembled, and he fought fiercely with his old foe, Bruticus, before collapsing a mountainside on him. Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime

The Protectobots were summoned to Cybertron to defend the planet against Galvatron's latest invasion, and protect the new super-metal, Cybertonuron, which Vector Sigma had developed. The fighting escalated when Defensor and Bruticus were formed and began grappling with one another. Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 1 Defensor eventually emerged victorious over his simple-minded nemesis, delivering a crushing back-blow as the coup-de-gras. Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 2 Later on Earth, Defensor assembled during a Protectobot mission to save the citizens of Peru from an active volcano. His efforts were waylaid by the Decepticon Headmasters, though, as Mindwipe blasted him with a paralysis ray, leaving him immobilized and unable to help. The Dormant Volcano Mysteriously Erupts

Defensor assembled on the moon to attack the Decepticons during Scorponok's leadership rally. The tide turned when Galvatron arrived and galvanized his troops to strike back at the Autobots. Defensor was literally torn limb from limb by the counter-fire, and fled with the other Autobots. Return of the Immortal Emperor The Protectobots later formed Defensor to defend the emergency energon rations the Autobots were sending to planet Sandra. Defensor fought against Devastator to protect the supplies. SOS from Planet Sandra

As the Decepticons launched five simultaneous attacks on the Autobots around the globe, Defensor was assembled to respond to one of the sites. He was seen battling with Sixshot on Galvatron's monitors. Considering how much Galvatron was crowing about Sixshot's mad skillzz, odds are Defensor didn't win. The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg Later on, Defensor helped Raiden and Computron demolish an old Decepticon base after the enemy abandoned the planet Earth. Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 1)

Following a lengthy period of inactivity, the Decepticons renewed their attacks on Earth. With Fortress still off in space, Spike Witwicky dispatched the Protectobots to attend to the threats. In Canberra, Australia, the Protectobots confronted Bruticus at one of Scorponok's new Death Towers as Defensor. Defensor was beaten severely by Bruticus, and First Aid was even knocked out of the arm socket. Using Scramble Power, Defensor switched Streetwise up to his shoulder and reattached First Aid as a leg, still carrying his fireball cannon. Despite this cunning(?) trick, Defensor was defeated by Bruticus. The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 1) Defensor participated in the Autobots final battle with Scorponok's Decepticons at the North Pole. During the so-called Dark Ages where the Autobots and Decepticons split up into many smaller factions, the Wreckers were searching for Ratbat Ultracons in the Tagan Heights when Devastator was unleashed. Upon hearing the news, the Protectobots decided to counter-attack to prevent an escalation of hostilities. Escalation (Dreamwave) As this was (presumably) before the Protectobots' combined mentality was refined, Defensor and Devastator's all-out brawl risked destroying the entire area. Just as Defensor looked ready to finish Devastator off, Springer pointed out all the destruction caused by the brawl. Unfortunately this distraction gave Devastator the chance to recover and savagely beat Defensor, prompting the Protectobots to separate and fight him as a team. This worked out better for them. Devastation (Dreamwave)

Millions of years later, Defensor and the Omnibots tried to prevent Menasor from escaping a detention facility and got their butts kicked. Ultra Magnus had to bail them out. Twin Twist and Topspin were assigned to get the Protectobots back on their feet. Passive Aggression They were apparently successful, since later on Defensor joined the Autobots in rising up against Shockwave's rule, decking an Omega Sentinel that was threatening Grimlock. Revelation (War and Peace)
:Defensor is formed out of the five individual Protectobots, with Hot Spot serving as the central torso component. Unusually for Scramble City-style combiners, Defensor's head is not a separate piece, but hidden inside his fire truck ladder assembly, like Inferno. This gives his head an unusually high amount of articulation. He is armed with Hot Spot's twin fireball cannons. Though any of the smaller Protectobots can serve as any limb, the "correct" configuration has Blades and First Aid as the right and left arm, respectively, and Groove and Streetwise as the right and left leg, respectively.

:Defensor's arms are very commonly mis-transformed, even in official artwork such as the art at the top of this page (in which Streetwise and First Aid have also reversed positions). The instructions (and the cartoon model) show the nose of Blades' helicopter form, and the front panel of First Aid's ambulance mode, unfolded to hang off of Defensor's shoulders (as shown at right.) But almost as frequently, both these components are shown folded away. First Aid's legs are often not unfolded properly as well, giving Defensor a shorter arm than he would otherwise have.

:Defensor was available as the individual Protectobots sold separately, or as a giftset.

: The Protectobots were to be released as part of the second wave of combiners in the Generation 2 toyline, and naturally would have been able to form Defensor. However, this entire wave was ultimately canceled for unknown reasons.

:While no figure of Defensor was released by Hasbro as part of their 1987 Decoy promotion, the Protectobot combiner did have a soft rubber figure crafted in his image that was available exclusively in Japan, as part of a second wave of the figures released there by Kabaya as part of the Transformers Ramune series, along with other Transformers 2010 characters. :Wheelie is an Autobot, cheerful as the sun, from the continuity family of Generation 1.

[[Image:Wheelieg1.jpg|right|250px|thumb|"You give Wheelie sass?
He will kick your ass."
]]

Come hither and listen to this ballad! This song!
Come learn about Wheelie: The Wild Boy of Quintesson!
For Wheelie, so small, is an Autobot child,
But when stakes are high, he gets mean and wild!
He is belittled by many, who call him terrible things,
But Wheelie suffers not their cruel arrows and slings!
You see, Wheelie survives; its just what he does,
Nothing keeps him down. How is that? It's because,
He's a survivalist expert; a self-made Autobot!
The Hellish planet of Quintesson is where he was taught.
Wheelie speaks in a pattern that's structured in rhyme,
And he hangs out with Daniel most of the time.
They're two of a kind; kindred spirits and such,
Causing all sorts of trouble with their mischievous touch!
Wheelie cares not if he's liked; popularity doesn't matter,
And he doesn't care if his rhyming drives others mad as a hatter.
His critics may hate him or even wish he would die,
Wheelie's reaction to them: Here's death in your eye!
On far off Quintessa his ship it did crash,
Wheelie survived, but his ship turned to ash.
Though friendless and alone, Wheelie stayed alive,
For Wheelie is strong and the strong must survive!
One fateful day, the Dinobots came in search of their friends,
So Wheelie gayly offered to help them meet their ends.
With his confident walk and his whimsical talk,
Wheelie earned the respect of the Mighty Grimlock!
Then with the help of Hot Rod, Kup and the rest,
Wheelie returned to Cybertron, most can attest.
In 2006, for all that it's worth,
He had to bring Metroplex's cog down to Earth.
Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1

To accomplish the task, they paired him with fast-talking Blurr,
But Galvatron stranded them on Io, that villainous cur!
Being attacked by lipoles, things began to look grim,
But on account of the fact Blurr was faster than him,
Wheelie threw him the cog and told him to flee,
To Marissa Faireborn's ship and to safety.
But the valiant Blurr refused to leave his friend,
And so the pair of heroes fought through to the end.
When Marissa came and helped, the lipoles got wise,
Targeting her ship and blowing it out of the skies!
Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4

The trio fought on, but their nerves were shaken,
'Til Sky Lynx showed up to save their bacon!
Though the lipoles were dispatched, the Predacons then arrived,
But Sky Lynx had the power to tan all of their hides!
Their foes now defeated, the team flew to Earth,
Completing their mission and proving their worth.
With the cog now delivered, Metroplex came alive.
He thrashed Trypticon, and the dino took a dive!
Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5

With Grimlock and Blurr, Wheelie listened to Kup,
As he yammered on and on and refused to shut up.
His story was about the Ick-Yaks on Dread,
But when Grimlock mentioned Chaos, Kup lost his head!
Chaos (episode)

When zombie Optimus Prime came under Quintesson control,
Destruction of the Autobots became his primary goal!
He tricked Wheelie and others into a terrible trap
Full of missiles and explosions to turn them to scrap!
But Wheelie survived when Rodimus Prime returned
And left the zombie Optimus behind to be burned.
Dark Awakening

Not long after that, with no assignment or mission,
Wheelie volunteered for a fun competition.
But the timestream was getting all out of place,
And Wheelie got stuck in an unending race!
Forever Is a Long Time Coming

On Earth Wheelie witnessed crimes that were weird,
As multiple landmarks just disappeared!
The Dinobots were suspected, but he didn't buy the hype,
Because the true criminal was an ethnic stereotype!
Thief in the Night

[[Image:Daniel%26wheeliesurpriseparty.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Daniel, we are out of time.
Yet, Wheelie must complete this rhyme!
]]

In his biggest adventure, Wheelie searched for a way,
To deduce the exact date of Magnus's birthday!
He knew finding the truth would be kind of tricky,
So he went and paired up with Daniel Witwicky.
Their search led them straight to a storage asteroid,
Being spied on by Cyclonus (how paranoid!).
Cyclonus took them hostage and made his demands,
But Magnus wouldn't leave them in villainous hands!
When Magnus arrived, he charged straight at his foe,
But as they went at it, little did they know,
That Wheelie snuck past them and pressed the self-destruct,
Which meant if they lingered their deathbeds would be tucked!
So Cyclonus retreated as the asteroid blew up,
And Magnus saved the kids from their monumental screw up!
As it turned out, Magnus didn't know his own birthday,
So their entire adventure was pointless, anyway.
Surprise Party

With other Autobots, Wheelie found Paradron,
A utopian planet that Sandstorm lived on!
Galvatron tried to take it and make it his base,
But gave up when Ultra Magnus blew up the place.
Fight or Flee

On another adventure, Wheelie didn't do much,
Wheelie was slightly more active in his next major caper,
As Cybertron was being drained of its energy vapor!
Wheelie opened fire at a Tornedron, a spider bathed in light,
But Tornedron drained his life, leaving Wheelie's body white.
Luckily for Wheelie, Tornedron was defeated,
And his life was restored, death successfully cheated!
Call of the Primitives

Wheelie, Kup, Bumblebee, and Blurr happened on a human's plot,
And when they battled a plagued Superion, Wheelie was shot!
The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1
He was revived by a Quintesson who tried to work faster,
But when Optimus Prime set out, they replaced him with Blaster!
Rodimus vs. Cyclonus
Before making it all the way to the Planet of Junk,
Wheelie and friends found themselves in a funk.
Though he was an expert pilot who could get them there fast,
Cyclonus showed up and their fun would not last.
Cyclonus was challenged to battle by Hot Rod (so brave),
But Cyclonus's power almost banished him to his grave!
Kup then requested help and Wheelie replied
By talking to some friends who he knew were on his side.
To make their ship visible was what Kup had asked,
So Grapple and <strike>Warpath</strike> Tracks did so... and fast!
When Hot Rod began winning, Cyclonus became a goner
He admitted this act was one without honor.
They at last made it to Junkion and found all their friends.
Now watch the rest of the movie to see how it ends.
The Autobots found out and were quickly deployed,
Vowing not to give up until the beast was destroyed!
Wheelie was among the heroes enlisted to fight,
And helped Rodimus sneak inside the gargantuan blight.
Rodimus blew up the creature with a smartly placed bomb,
And when the Autobots celebrated, Wheelie joined right along.
The Story of Super Robot Lifeforms: The Transformers issue 1
When planet Feminia and its Prime Energy Tower
Came under attack from Decepticon power,
Wheelie joined the Autobots in defending the thing,
Though their best efforts proved futile against Predaking.
Observing the fight, Wheelie compared it to a game,
The Decepticons eventually lost and were driven away,
When the Omnibots arrived to help win the day!
During a battle between Abominus and Computron,
Wheelie mocked and insulted the defeated Terrorcon!
But Wheelie's cries of joy soon became cries of horror,
When the Terrorcons brainwashed the Technobot warrior!
The Cohesive Control Liquid had seized Computron's mind
And forced him to join up with the Decepticons' kind!
Luckily, Spike was there, observing the fight,
And used a special device to turn everything right!
The Great Transformer War issue 2
The Headmasters cartoon
:Voice actor: Kazue Komiya (Japanese)

[[Image:HM ep01 Wheelie beats Tantrum.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Headmasters Wheelie could be as snarky as you please!
His words to Chromedome? "It's too late for apologies!"
]]

By 2011, Wheelie was too petulant to rhyme,
He blamed everything on Chromedome, like, all of the time.
Although a jerk to the core, Wheelie was not all alone,
He hung out with Daniel, and the two were quite danger-prone.
While chilling on Earth, the pair were met with surprise
By the titanic Trypticon with glowing death in his eyes!
The Decepticon gave chase, but Wheelie outsmarted their foe,
Luring him onto a busted bridge, where he slipped and fell below.
They then stowed away on the Trainbots and returned to Cybertron,
To help battle the Decepticons with their (limited) brawn.
Daniel, the wuss, was soon attacked by Tantrum,
So Wheelie had to pound the bull's head like a drum!
Four Warriors Come out of the Sky

Before leaving with Hot Rod to face matters unpleasant,
Blaster bequeathed to Wheelie a very special present.
It was a mix-tape of music he'd composed on his own,
And Wheelie played it after Blaster died in battle alone.
The Mystery of Planet Master

As Hot Rod searched Earth for the Matrix he'd lost,
Kup told Wheelie to believe in him, no matter the cost.
Wheelie brushed off Kup's words, thinking them silly,
And was acting all snarky, at least up until he
Was interrupted by Fortress, who had a better attitude,
So he offered to help instead of standing 'round being rude.
Wheelie, however, couldn't help them one whit,
So he went to an arcade with Daniel to complain about it.
He thought himself far more useful than the adults all around him,
And yet even at video games, Daniel proceeded to pound him.
Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime

Next, Blaster's untimely death sent Wheelie into depression.
"No one cares Blaster's gone" was his bitter impression.
But Wheelie was wrong; Rodimus Prime cared quite a bit.
He knew Blaster's death was a mistake and sought to rectify it!
So Blaster was revived as Twincast, much to Wheelie's elation,
And thus began the Great Cassette Operation!
The Great Cassette Operation

[[Image:WheelieRebellionBeast01.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Wheelie, a robot, is big and metallic,
But Fortress's cannon is big and most phallic.
]]

Daniel and Wheelie then stowed away on Fortress's battleship
And accompanied the Autobots on their perilous trip
To the Beastformer homeworld, known simply as Beast,
Where the 'Cons were causing trouble (to say only the least).
Wheelie and Daniel then tried to rescue the Beastformer slaves,
But were imprisoned themselves in the dungeon-like caves!
Luckily for Wheelie, the Headmasters were there.
They drove off all the villains and rescued the pair.
Rebellion on Planet Beast

The meteorite Metamorpho then threatened Autobot space,
By warping anything metal in its magnetic embrace!
Only Daniel was safe. Only he could defeat it.
Wheelie cheered Daniel on—he was sure he could beat it!
But Daniel was a crybaby, a big blubbering sack,
So Wheelie chided his buddy and cut him no slack.
Daniel eventually manned up and blew up the rock,
But Wheelie, such a jerk, continued to mock.
Approach of the Demon Meteorite

The Trainbots later invited both Wheelie and Dan
To come visit their birthplace in far-off Japan.
Soon after arriving, Sixshot made some trouble,
Stirring up the Autobots, who countered on the double!
The Headmasters went searching all over the planet,
While Dan and Wheelie went shopping and...well, dammit,
The Trainbots shopped with them, and Chromedome made a fuss,
Causing Daniel to run away crying. (Jeez, what a wuss.)
Terror! The Six Shadows

Wheelie later observed as the Autobots fought,
To reach Vector Sigma first, for if they could not,
The Decepticons would get there, and then there'd be trouble,
Because they'd use Sigma's Cybertonuron to turn the Autobots to rubble!
But they were wrong—Scorponok had a more menacing scheme:
To blow up all of Cybertron! How terribly obscene!
The bombs could not be removed, much to Wheelie's frustration,
Leaving Rodimus to call for the planet's evacuation.
And so Wheelie was forced to watch his planet go KER-PEW!
Poor little guy...his day kind of blew.
Rodimus then departed on an outer space quest,
Leaving Arcee to raise Wheelie (or at least do her best).
Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 2

[[Image:WheelieEnergonGlutton01.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Wheelie likes to eat, drink and be merry,
His favorite cereal is Frankenberry.
]]

Crippled with sorrow over Cybertron's end,
The Autobots threw a party to help their wounds mend.
Wheelie, the hedonist, had too much to drink,
And got drunk and passed out, that little rat-fink!
The Shadow Emperor, Scorponok

Along with Daniel and Spike, Wheelie went to Peru
To prevent the members of the Decepticon crew
From making a volcano blow up sky-high,
Leaving the villagers below to helplessly fry.
As the mountain erupted, they approached in Broadside,
But he couldn't beat the heat, no matter how hard he tried!
So Wheelie tried once again, this time with the Trainbots,
But the heat drove them off too, just like they were lame-bots!
With no options left, they evacuated the town,
Saving the villagers while the magma poured down.
The Dormant Volcano Mysteriously Erupts

On Athenia, Daniel was planting some seeds
And began watering them to tend to their needs.
As Wheelie observed this dull gardening show,
He was shocked when he saw the plant starting to grow!
The plant was a creature from the world of Darhos
That could grow to great heights, turning slimy and gross!
[[Image:WheelieHeadOnFortMax01.jpg|right|250px|thumb|"Excuse me, good sir, I'm beggin' your pardon,
But might Wheelie assist in planting your spice garden?"
]]

Wheelie and Daniel called to Spike for some aid.
Spike then looked to Arcee (since she was their maid).
But they could do nothing, and the plant almost trashed their base,
Luckily, Fortress wiped it out, leaving not even a trace.
Head On!! Fortress Maximus

When Wheelie and Daniel went to Mars on a geological mission,
They found that the red planet was in perilous condition!
Scorponok had planted bombs near the planet's core,
And once they went off, Mars would then be no more!
Then the pair were attacked by the Terrorcon Rippersnapper,
Who easily abducted the duo of lame whippersnappers!
Imprisoned deep underground in a series of caves,
Daniel concocted a scheme to trick the foul knaves.
He staged an argument with Wheelie and even a fake brawl,
Which let him secretly send an Autobot distress call!
The Headmasters then arrived and rescued the youths,
But could not find the time bombs. (What terrible sleuths!)
Explosion on Mars!! Maximus Is in Danger

Returned to Athenia, Wheelie looked on in fright,
Praying Fortress would survive his terrible fight!
When they found that their leader had been injured severely,
Wheelie swore to the skies that the Decepticons would pay dearly!
But Wheelie's swearing and screeching couldn't stop what was fated;
Mars was blown into bits and Mega Zarak was created.
Explosion on Mars!! MegaZarak Appears

With the threat of Mega Zarak now looming ahead,
Wheelie admitted to Daniel his feelings of dread.
But Daniel wouldn't hear it; he knew Fortress was stronger,
He'd had enough of Wheelie's crap, and he'd take it no longer.
So with inhuman strength (and overreacting a bit),
He shoved Wheelie into a lake after throwing a fit.
Before Wheelie could crush him with his mighty robot fist,
A flying saucer zoomed past. (Oh my gawd, aliens do exist!)
Daniel thought that the alien might be friend and not foe,
So he tried to use a keyboard to communicate with it and, whoah,
Daniel was completely wrong—about as wrong as you can get.
The alien was Galvatron. (He was off by more than a bit.)
Humiliated by his actions, Daniel started to weep,
Leaving Wheelie no choice but to soothe the little creep.
Return of the Immortal Emperor

When the planet called Sandra sent an SOS into space,
Asking for Energon cubes to save their dying race,
The Autobots, always kindly, agreed to give them their aid,
And Wheelie and Daniel tagged along to see the delivery made.
Then the Decepticons attacked! But Spike knew that they would,
And he set up a small cargo ship just so that they could
Slip away in the battle and deliver the cubes.
Wheelie and Daniel laughed out loud at the Decepticon rubes.
And so the cargo was delivered and Sandra was saved!
Wheelie didn't do much this time, but at least he behaved.
SOS from Planet Sandra

[[Image:WheelieHivePlanet01.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Normally this sort of thing would bring Wheelie to tears,
But he wouldn't touch a bug, not in a million years!
]]

When the Decepticons Apeface and Snapdragon showed up at last,
Brainstorm told Wheelie all about their mysterious past.
He revealed unto Wheelie that they used to be friends,
But when they joined Scorponok, they could not make amends.
Daniel Faces His Biggest Crisis Ever!!

Wheelie and the Autobots then found themselves stuck in a race
To prevent the Decepticons from plundering space.
The villains tried to rob the beehive planet Hachi no Susei,
But were thwarted when the Autobots got in their way.
Fight to the Death on Hachi no Susei!!

As for the twin planets of Sperity and Toruin ,
Galvatron planned to ransack them and bring them to ruin.
As Sperity was attacked for its huge energy stash,
Wheelie was sent to Toruin before he could do anything rash.
And on that barren planet Wheelie made a find:
The people of Sperity had left their old planet behind!
They had taken their energon far away from there,
Which is why Galvatron couldn't find it anywhere!
Eventually, Galvatron was forced to just call it quits,
And the Autobots left the Speritans to start over in the pits.
Battle for Defense of the False Planet

At Video Challenger, Daniel proved very skilled,
But Wheelie's reaction to him was a little less thrilled.
So he challenged the kid to shoot an apple that he held up,
But Daniel shot his arm instead when his aim got fouled up.
A penal colony on Daros was their next landing point,
So they could rescue some war criminals being slaughtered in the joint.
One of the criminals, though, tried to cut Daniel's neck,
And Wheelie was helpless to stop him, but hey, what the heck.
As it turns out, the criminal wasn't really that bad,
And when he let Daniel go, no one really got mad.
He gave information that helped them unravel a serious knot
And let them defeat MegaZarak. (Though they hadn't found his weak spot.)
Find MegaZarak's Weak Spot!!

[[Image:WheelieHeadFormationFriendship01.jpg|right|250px|thumb|So when Wheelie is horny his eyes glow like the Devil's?
This is unsettling on soooo many levels...
]]

The Decepticons drew them next to the jungle planet Paradise,
Where they were plundering energy and doing things not-so-nice!
So with the Headmasters setting out to solve their enemy's tests,
Daniel and Wheelie met Papika and her voluptuous... face.
Wheelie was smitten quite quickly, and his eyes glowed deep red.
It's best not to imagine the thoughts that went through his head.
After learning to fish, Wheelie tried his best to impress her
By transforming into a car, but his skills proved the lesser
When compared to Papika's; she could talk to beasts large and small,
Making it clear that Wheelie couldn't impress her at all.
Later, the Headmasters won the day, just like they always did,
And Wheelie gave up on Papika. (She was out of your league, kid.)
Head Formation of Friendship

On their travels, the Decepticons proved formidable foes,
Having stolen energy from six planets. Why? Lord only knows.
Approaching Pirate Planet, Wheelie spotted something quite freaky:
An old space pirate ship that was battered, damaged and leaky.
And then an awesome adventure immediately began
Involving pirates! And pyramids! Treasure! Clones! And...aw, man.
Wheelie sat the whole thing out, letting Daniel have all the fun.
Of all the adventures to miss, he had to skip out on that one?
Mystery of the Space Pirate Ship

As Highbrow struggled in vain to crack Scorponok's secret code,
Daniel and Wheelie tried to help him cross that long, bumpy road.
Unfortunately, their "help" proved far too insufficient,
And they had to start over from scratch (not very efficient).
Then Sixshot attacked and blew Ultra Magnus into bits,
And Wheelie attended his funeral between crying fits.
Ultra Magnus Dies!!

From the Athenia base, Wheelie watched Spike blow his top;
The 'Cons were ransacking Earth and weren't going to stop!
They were blaming Chromedome for the team's lack of success,
But Arcee told them to chill and to give it a rest.
The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg

[[Image:IRiskMyLifeForWheelie01.jpg|250px|thumb|right|Wheelie likes to blame Chromedome for all that he can.
He's a serious douchebag in this cartoon from Japan.
]]

On a mission to Earth, Chromedome had just one simple job,
To keep Spike from getting killed, but that big robotic knob
Screwed it all up and Spike went into intensive care.
Daniel forgave Chromedome, but Wheelie wouldn't let it end there.
Chromedome tried to say sorry, but Wheelie said it wasn't enough.
Even by Wheelie's standards, he was treating Chromedome pretty rough.
As Spike recovered from surgery, Wheelie was then put to work,
Helping to find Mega Zarak's weakspot for Chromedome (that jerk).
After tens of minutes of labor, they all figured it out:
The weakspot was on his chest beyond all shadow of a doubt!
I Risk My Life for Earth

With the Decepticons banished from Earth, the Autobots needed aid
In gathering Plasma energy bombs so the humans would not be afraid.
To accomplish this goal, Wheelie offered to call on friends that he knew,
But Daniel laughed in his face! Wheelie was friendless and a fibber, too!
Then much to Daniel's surprise, Wheelie proved him totally wrong,
When his good "friends" Pointblank, Crosshairs and Sureshot came along!
Those Autobots were great warriors! Daniel was very impressed!
But at being called Wheelie's "friends" the trio became very distressed.
As it turns out, they weren't his "friends"; Wheelie was an absolute liar!
They were his superior officers! His robo-pants were on fire!
Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 1)

With Wheelie's good "friends" now turned into powerful Targetmasters,
The veterens began insulting the obsolete Headmasters.
In front of Daniel and Wheelie, Pointblank came down on Chromedome,
Who feared the after effects of the disrespect he was shown.
But Daniel and Wheelie didn't respect Chromedome any less
(If they respected him at all is, well, anyone's guess).
Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 2)

[[Image:TheWheelieSwordIsInDanger01.jpg|thumb|250px|right|Okay, sure, Wheelie. Whatever you say.
Daniel can't be a Headmaster (in this continuity, anyway).
]]

While set down on planet Master, Wheelie became full of himself,
Vowing to become a Headmaster by improving fitness and health.
Daniel rolled his eyes and laughed out loud; Wheelie's dreams were too silly.
Wheelie told Daniel he could never be one; he was too fleshy and frilly.
Very early the next morning, Wheelie snuck outside for a run,
Only to be captured by Sixshot, whose evil scheme had begun!
Sixshot threatened to dip Wheelie in acid if Fortress didn't agree
To give up the Master Sword's secrets and to do it quickly!
Pointblank coldly suggested they just let Wheelie melt and die,
But Daniel and Chromedome disagreed! They'd save the little guy!
Going against orders, the pair snuck inside of Scorponok,
With Daniel using his size to sneak past the energy locks.
They got Wheelie out safely, but alas, their rescue was too late.
Fortress had just handed over his secrets! Well, ain't that just great?
Furious at the trio for leaving the ship without orders,
He gave them a mop and a bucket and said to wash all the quarters.
The Master Sword Is in Danger!!

Thanks to Wheelie's epic failure, the Decepticons took what they stole
And began construction of the Zarak Shield as their ultimate goal.
As the Headmasters traversed Master to thwart the sinister plan,
Wheelie stood ontop of Battleship Maximus, hanging with Dan.
They were startled by Weirdwolf, who had concocted a plan all his own,
He'd set bombs on the ship and didn't want their cover to be blown!
Weirdwolf's plan was a success; the bombs completely ruined the ship
And with his fancy new shield, Zarak prepared to beat on the crip.
The Zarak Shield Turns the Tide

While Raiden and Defensor worked double-time on repairs,
Wheelie and Dan found themselves useless to help with such affairs.
As the grown-ups worked diligently to create tactics and plans,
The kids went to play video games at their elder's demands.
Operation: Destroy the Decepticons

With the Maximus repaired, the Autobots set off into space
After Mega Zarak whom they once again had to chase.
In an effort to kill time, Wheelie had his greatest idea yet:
He and Daniel would see what it was like inside a laser turret!
Then the turret was damaged with Daniel still stuck inside,
And jettisoned away from the ship; Wheelie just about cried.
Daniel made it back (with Sixshot's help), much to Wheelie's relief;
If he had caused Daniel's death, Wheelie would have been crippled with grief!
My Friend Sixshot!

Sixshot may have saved Daniel, but he was still no Autobot friend
And challenged Chromedome to a duel where he'd surely meet his end.
Wheelie, that eavesdropping punk, heard about the whole situation
And ran and told Daniel, who wasn't keen on the confrontation.
Duel on the Asteroid

Because of that stupid duel, Mega Zarak made it to Earth first,
Once again, it was all Chromedome's fault (that guy is really the worst).
Daniel was busy pouting, thinking Sixshot had died in the fight.
Wheelie teased the brat, anyway (never one to pass on a slight).
They eventually reached Earth, but tragedy wasn't far behind:
Spike's plane crashed down in the Andes and they were all in a bind!
Wheelie followed his good buddy, who had to rescue his mother,
And Daniel saved the day, yet again! A true hero! (Oh brother...)
The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 1)

It turned out Scorponok's master plan involved blowing up the Earth
And gathering up the released energy (which was of tremendous worth).
With friends and justice, the Autobots joined hands in formation
And prevented Scorponok's insidius detonation!
Mega Zarak destroyed and the Decepticons driven away,
Wheelie and Daniel were left with only goodbyes to say.
Wheelie promised to visit Daniel again when he was older,
An undetermined time after that, a spoiled brat named Hot Rod,
Is that Wheelie saved their lives, launching fireballs at the villains,
Prepared to die to stop the evil hordes,
Wheelie told Daniel these few final words:

With a grenade pin pulled, signalling doom,
Daniel ended their friendship with a massive Kaboom!
Centuries passed, with Wars both Great and of Beast,
And once again Unicron was prepared to feast!
An alternate Wheelie was poached from his home,
And locked in the Cauldron where no one could roam.
He would fight other Transformers till death, either one;
The loser would feed his spark to hungry Unicron!
Trapped in a cage, Wheelie was doomed to meet his maker,
However, he was saved by Silverbolt and Trailbreaker!
He escaped with the others, through a portal they were hurled,
Towards perhaps his home universe, a return to his world!

Although Shockwave promised peace to one and all,
Wheelie was smart and for that ruse he did not fall.
He joined a team along with Gnaw, his Sharkticon pet.
Together they strove to unveil Shockwave's evil threat.
Optimus Prime wasted no time in joining their side,
But thought Gnaw was attacking and beat his ugly hide.
Wheelie didn't take this well and thought Prime a brute,
So in retaliation, he bit the Commander's boot!
All that Wheelie ever wanted was to help one and all,
But the bigger, tougher Autobots thought he was too small.
Then finally, one day, Wheelie at last got his due,
And then radiation malfunctioned his ship—Wheelie cried boo-hoo!
Spotlight: Wheelie

Wheelie sent out a transmission, hoping someone might help.
Optimus Prime got the call but completely ignored the whelp!
Spotlight: Optimus Prime

So since no Autobot cared if Wheelie lived or died,
His ship crashed into a planet, and its systems were fried!
The foul creatures of that world towered great heights over him,
And when he tried greeting one, it just tore off his limb!
Wheelie got it back later, so he wasn't totally sunk,
But the place where he found it stunk ten times worse than a skunk.
Alas, poor Wheelie had to dig through poop piles in vain.
And after all of that, transforming caused him great pain.
The trail of a crashed ship was what he next embarked upon,
But he then found that it had been piloted by Decepticons!
An innocent alien was being tortured by Spectro and Spyglass,
So Wheelie swooped in like a superhero and saved the shmuck's ass.
And for that poor guy's sake, Wheelie had saved him just in time,
So the grateful little guy taught Wheelie how to rhyme!
And Varta (the alien) even had a ship that flew!
To get it up and running, Wheelie's power source would do.
Together, the friends both prepared to leave the wretched place,
But their dreams where shattered when Spyglass shot Varta in the face!
The Decepticons took the ship and left Wheelie to his doom,
But he surprised all the 'Cons and made the ship go kaboom!
One year after that, he and Varta had built a home,
And from then on, his fate Wheelie would no longer bemoan!
In the distant year 2010, things were looking quite bleak:
Shockwave had seized command from Galvatron, that psychotic freak!
Most of the Autobots were now dead, buried and gone
Because Shockwave used the Zel Quartz to destroy Cybertron!

But Wheelie had survived alongside Rodimus Prime
And along with some others, they travelled backward in time
To 2003, before Shockwave had gone totally nuts
And squarely kicked all of the Decepticons' butts.
Starscream wound-up thwarting the Decepticons (in his own stupid way).
*In the first commercial where Wheelie did appear, his voice didn't sound anywhere near! Although Frank Welker did the gig, Wheelie's voice came much deeper, dig? In fact — and we're sure you'll all agree — he sounded like the Smurfs' pal Peewit! (That's pronounced "Peewee", you see.)

*In an old catalog, Wheelie's toy could be seen, but when his toy hit the market, its colors changed some time inbetween. And yet this obsolete coloration still lingered around; Wheelie bore the same scheme in some comics, savvy readers had found!

*Among those who dislike Wheelie is Floro Dery, his creator—really! Dery's said that of all his Transformers designs, Wheelie's the one that he most maligns—maybe even the only one! Honest, it's true! You can read for yourself in this interview!
**The model was used again later on, this time as a generic Mini-Con! Miracle

*Chris Ryall said Wheelie would get a spotlight on his blog. His hide the fans did wish to flog. On Jizai's design Klaus Scherwinski did base, for Wheelie's sake he does not lose face.

* Though Wheelie thought his body looked fine, for AHM he got a redesign! Guido Guidi was not enthused, and in "Spotlight: Wheelie" it didn't get used.
