Rampage
:Rampage is a Decepticon from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film continuity family.

Rampage is a pretty violent guy. A member of the Constructicons, he can be followed by the trail of destruction as he wrecks his way through the battlefield, leaving the smell of diesel fumes and hot tar in his wake. His chassis is covered with scratches, dings and dents as a testament to his intense love of battle. Thoroughly whacked in the cranial unit, his idea of beauty is a pile of Autobot wreckage.

He may use the aliases Lasher or Whipmaster.

There are two of him: one of them is yellow and forms Devastator's left leg.
IDW Revenge of the Fallen comics
Rampage's body type was one of the early "construction drones" used to build star harvesters. One of the Rampages, who was neither red nor yellow, joined the Fallen's original Decepticons. He tried to battle the turncoat Jetfire and was quickly taken out. Tales of the Fallen issue 3
Two years after the events in Mission City, Decepticons were once again active on Earth. When Soundwave intercepted the location of the AllSpark shard and the final resting place of Megatron, teams were dispatched to bring about their commander's resurrection. After Ravage retrieved the shard from Diego Garcia, he led Rampage, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Scalpel and a smaller Constructicon to the depths of the Laurentian Abyss. When Scalpel examined Megatron's corpse, he ordered the larger Constructicons to kill "ze little one" for donor parts, which they obliged.

During Operation: Firestorm in Egypt, Rampage's combiner limb counterpart became part of Devastator, attacking former Sector Seven agent Seymour Simmons, Leo Spitz, Skids and Mudflap. Meanwhile, Rampage himself appeared during the battle in the Egyptian town to lure Sam Witwicky into a trap by releasing his captive parents, Ron and Judy. Sam was willing to trade the remains of the Matrix for his parents, but when he realised Bumblebee had arrived, managed to position Rampage for an attack. After a long battle (which also resulted in the death of Ravage), Bumblebee finished Rampage by ripping his arms off and over-extending his spine with a powerful kick in the back, killing him.

Elsewhere, as Devastator smashed away at the Great Pyramid of Giza after shrugging off Skids and Mudflap, Simmons called upon the United States Navy to fire upon the giant Decepticon. The U.S.S. Kidd fired her experimental rail gun, smashing one of his arms to pieces and destroying Devastator. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Rampage and Sideways burst from their cover when they found Breakaway and Longarm hunting them. While Sideways battled Longarm through the streets, Rampage's incredible strength made him more than a match for Breakaway. The final result of this battle is unknown. #StrikeMission
His last known location during the Hunt for the Decepticons was a junkyard in Chicago, where he was recuperating from heavy damage (presumably that suffered in Egypt at the hands of Bumblebee). #RampageAmongTheRuins
:Rampage and the six other Legends class Constructicons combine to form Devastator. In Japan, the Legends class Constructicons are sold individually. Unlike the deluxe toy, he does not feature a "standard" robot mode, but has the (in fiction) jackhammer mode. Also unlike the Deluxe toy, he can stand in this mode. He forms the left leg of Devastator.

:Rampage transforms from a yellow bulldozer similar to a Komatsu D575A into one of two robot mode configurations, the first of which (his actual in-fiction robot form) is distinctly Vehicon-esque. It lacks any functional legs, instead featuring a spring-loaded "jackhammer" assembly. When the figure is bounced along the ground in this mode, his Mech Alive feature is activated, and a pair of pistons that frame his head pump back and forth. The shovel can be removed in this mode and used as a stand. If legs are preferred, his jackhammer splits and his elaborate kibble backpack unfolds, together forming four leg-struts to create a free-standing robot form that is rather centaurian in design. Though not mentioned in the instructions or package, the aforementioned backpack can remain folded in robot mode for a more movie-accurate, two-legged 'play' mode of sorts. He features real rubber treads which become arm-mounted whip weapons in robot mode. Unfortunately, due to this design, the treads themselves do not function in vehicle mode.

:Like several toys in the Revenge of the Fallen toyline, Rampage has had a mold change done somewhere between his instructions being drawn up and the final version of the toy. On the final toy, the rear flap behind the cabin of the bulldozer runs into a screw section used to hold the robot pelvis together. This change also affects where the rear flap and the bulldozer shovel connect in robot mode. On the instructions, this flap is shown as folding flat against the back of the vehicle and said flap is also folded down much farther in robot mode to connect to the shovel. The mold change seems to account for the shovel connection issue in robot mode, but not the problem in vehicle mode. Unlike some others, this change does not directly affect any of the toy's action features or articulation.

:As a redeco of Rampage's first deluxe class toy in red, this release of Rampage represents a more movie accurate version of the Rampage who fought Bumblebee in Egypt. Hasbro's version of red Rampage is a straight colour swap, with his yellow plastic replaced with red plastic. As one of the last two figures released in the Revenge of the Fallen deluxe assortment, the red version of Rampage and his casemate Evac were insanely difficult (if not impossible) to find in U.S. retail stores.
:Rampage is the yellow Caterpillar D11 bulldozer that transforms into the left leg of Devastator. Like the other Constructicons in this set, he does not have an individual robot mode. : Mega Power Bots Devastator is a simple toy for younger children, featuring plenty of playing sounds and flashing lights. His limbs have limited swivel articulation and do not detach into separate vehicles. He has a distinctly more humanoid stature than normal.

: Unlike regular Power Bots, and unlike other portrayals of the character in general, Devastator features a transformation! It consists of putting his arms up and laying him flat on his stomach, which lets him roll around using the wheels on his limbs.

: Pressing down the Decepticon shield on his crotch (!) spins the vortex in his chest, lights up his eyes and makes him utter one of many Welker-recorded phrases, including "Prepare for extermination!", "Crush Autobots!" and "I am Devastator!" Pressing on the crane of his excavator arm makes a cannon blast sound effect, while pressing the cab of his loader arm turns the scoop into claws.
:This Legends class Rampage is an all-new mold that is different from the Legends class Rampage that came with Legends class Constructicon Devastator. Because he is not encumbered with the need to combine, both his robot and vehicle modes are much more accurate and detailed. Unfortunately, due to the robot mode's skinny legs, he can't stand up that well.
:A Toys"R"Us-exclusive Generation 1-themed redeco of Legends Devastator and his components. Unlike TakaraTomy's go at the same idea, Rampage and the other Constructicons are mostly just lime green and gray, with the only bits of purple being their windshields. They do, however, have brown paint operations on and around their wheels to simulate dirt.
*Although his correct, finalized name is used in the film (in on-screen subtitles, to be precise), Rampage is listed in the credits under his preliminary name of "Skipjack". Much confusion ensued, since nobody had actually heard this preliminary name before. As seen in concept art, during production, Rampage was referred to as "Jumping Jack". TakaraTomy later used this name for yellow redeco of the 2010 Legends class Rampage toy.

*Starscream calls the red Rampage by name in the film. Secondary sources such as the Devastator toys and the The Movie Universe name the yellow Devastator components as Rampage. So, not only do the Decepticons have the same body-form, they have the same name. While other Constructicons have doubles, Rampage is the only one where all the versions of him are explicitly named.

*Due to his small size, the yellow Rampage combines with a yellow dump truck to form Devastator's leg in the film. Another yellow bulldozer forms the hand on Hightower.

*Both the Robot Hero and the Mega Powerbot version of Devastator depict Rampage as orange. To date, no separate toy of him has been released in this color.
Missiles are projectile weapons that are released and fly through the air toward a target. An ICBM, an arrow, or a flung beer bottle—all are missiles, though their effectiveness varies. Transformers use a variety of different kinds of missiles. Examples include Prowl's wire-guided incendiary missiles, Sunstreaker's laser-guided, ground-to-air missiles, Thundercracker's drone rockets, and Skywarp's heat seeking missiles.

stub
Toys
Many Transformers toys include simulated missiles. Some are nonfunctional dummies, partly or wholly visible as a removable, affixed, or molded-on detail. Functioning Transformer missiles operate in several ways:

*Spring-launched

: Loading the missile compresses a spring. At full compression, a lock of some sort engages the missile. When released, the spring recoils, propelling the projectile into the air, towards unsuspecting Decepticons, siblings, or cats.

*Pressure-launched

: Also called "marble-shooter" missiles, these were first seen on the Generation 2 Cyberjets. A rounded, annular protrusion on the missile rests in a claw-like holder. The missile is held in place due to tension in the launcher, because the launcher's sides have to be bent slightly outward in order to insert the missile. The tail of the missile protrudes from the launcher. To fire, finger pressure is applied to the missile's tail. When the missile's bulb begins to push out of the launcher's grip, the tension becomes even stronger, and once the bulb has passed the halfway point, the launcher squeezes the missile out at high speed. This speed may be increased further by force from the operator's finger, which accelerates after the missile's release, but briefly remains in contact with its tail.

:Robots In Disguise Megatron and the Galvatron redeco use a variation of the pressure launcher in which a finger-pressed jaw squeezes the "marble" directly, instead of built-in tension.

:This entire mechanism can be scaled up to create a "Disk Launcher", firing disks of two to three inches in diameter. These usually incorporate a lever mechanism to push the disks, rather than direct contact from a finger. They also commonly incorporate a gravity-feed magazine to deliver multiple projectiles in succession.
:Toys such as Depth Charge,Laser Optimus Prime and all his various repaints, and more recently the Fast Action Battlers and Robot Replica versions of Frenzy feature such launchers.

*Air-launched

:These use air pressure to drive the projectile from its launcher. On the Laser Optimus Prime, Combat Hero Prime, and Combat Hero Megatron figures, the missiles are hollow and fit over the open mouth of a tube with one closed end, which communicates via a flexible hose with a plastic bellows. Depressing the bellows compresses air, displacing it into the tube, and launching the missile. However, the rubber tubing tends to wear down over time, and thus the air-launching technology was widely phased out.

For safety reasons, missiles in Transformers have to satisfy a number of length, hardness, and pointiness requirements. Before these requirements, and to this day in countries where they are not in effect, some missiles were quite small. For instance, Generation 1 Inferno's fists can be launched as missiles from his original toy, but the springs of his 1985 domestic release were quite weak.
*Godzilla had his own Marvel Comics series in which he was hunted down by Dum Dum.
*Given Spoon's statements about movies, it might be the case that, in-universe, the Japanese made a movie about Godzilla's real-life monster rampages—after all the Marvel continuity contains both superheroes and superhero comics—but drawing firm relationships between the Marvelverse, the main US continuity and the Earthforce continuity is problematic at best. * Super-God Masterforce head writer Masumi Kaneda has stated that God Ginrai (ゴッドジンライ) was named so that omitting every other Japanese syllable yields the word Gojira (ゴジラ), the original Japanese name for Godzilla.
* There is another Japanese monster movie, Hojoni, as shown in "Kremzeek!"
* Around the time Jolt was seen reading a Godzilla comic, IDW Comics began putting out their own Godzilla series. Coincidence, or product placement?
mainpic
Starscream plans to take control of the Decepticons, mostly because he thinks he's the best thing ever and much better at being evil than Megatron. With the help of his well-thumbed copy of "I'm My Own Me: How to Command Confidently", he might someday achieve his aim. In the meantime, he spends his time building castles out of bricks with his friend Starwheeze, and also bowling. Every future despot has to have a hobby, after all.
Starscream entered a dance competition, where his quiet, peaceful interpretive performance was roundly booed by the audience. He finished his piece by falling over and disintegrating. The judges (Megatron, Shockwave and Thundercracker) nonetheless gave him ludicrously high marks. Score one for nepotism.
