Expanded to enormous proportions, Optimus and Galvatron wage their final battle in space and on Jungle Planet.

Synopsis
Super-sized Galvatron flies off into space, followed by his loyal troops, who wonder where he's heading. The Autobots attack, and a melee ensues. Optimus and Rodimus wonder where Galvatron is heading, but suspect he's being led to the same place that they are. Optimus tells Rodimus to take over leadership if he doesn't return from the upcoming final struggle with Galvatron.

The Omnicons continue feeding Super Energon stars into Primus, who's slowly coming out of sleep mode. The Omnicons have depleted their reserves.

Optimus and Omega recombine and attack Galvatron, hitting him in the nosecone. But Prime splits off from Omega, saying that this battle is soly between him and Galvatron. He begins powering up, attacking as a glowing ball of light. His arms emerge, super-sized, and hurl Galvatron away. He emerges enlarged, the same size as his nemesis. The two titans battle, and Optimus bashes Galvatron to the surface of Jungle Planet.

Optimus follows, and they face off, preparing for the final battle. As Galvatron prepares himself, his eyes regain their greenish tint. Troops from both sides scramble to reinforce their respective leaders. The ancient Energon guardians squabble and begin to fight.

Optimus and Galvatron battle. Prime throws Galvatron away, then rocks back. And forth. And back. And forth. And back. (yes, I counted.) They continue to battle; Optimus orders his troops to stay out of it, and Starscream likewise holds back the Decepticons from helping. Galvatron runs Optimus through with his sword, but takes a blow at the same time; both fall. But Prime rises and continues waling on him.

On Cybertron, Scorponok is out for a stroll, when he realizes that Galvatron is in trouble. But Ironhide appears and says he'll have to get through him first.

Superion takes on Bruticus and Constructicon. When they get him down, he launches his limbs, which pin Constructicon Maximus to a wall. Superion's central component charges Constructicon in a ball of light, causing him to die. Laser blasts from Bruticus destroy Superion Maximus's limbs before he can recombine.

Galvatron and Prime continue fighting, with a notable lack of quips and taunts from both combatants. As Jetfire approaches the battle, Kicker says that he senses Unicron... from both of them.

The Unicron orb still exists.

Kicker senses this.

No really, the Unicron orb still exists.

Kicker orders Jetfire into space, to destroy Unicron.

Bruticus crushes what's left of Superion, until a shot from out of the blue destroys one of Bruticus's arms. Superion briefly sees a vision of his deceased brother... and then leaps, merges with Constructicon Maximus's abandoned limbs, and counterattacks. He strikes his fellow guardian in the chest, triggering a huge explosion.

Kicker and Unicron continue flying into space (where the Unicron orb still exists). Kicker abruptly orders Jetfire to leave him, as he can sense things more clearly when he's alone.

Prime and Galvatron struggle on. Galvatron refuses Optimus's offer to become an Autobot, saying that the power he gained from Unicron is still growing. He explodes his old form, replacing it with one even bigger. Optimus follows suite, vanishing in a flash of light and reappearing in his "Optimus Supreme" form, now with his Prime Force drones attached, without actually having to combine with Omega Supreme to do so.

Jetfire is hesitant to leave Kicker, even with the Energon Saber. Misha contacts him, desperate to join him, but Kicker says he must do it alone. Kicker sends his love and assures her he'll come back, and heads off into space.

Prime and Galvatron are still fighting. As Galvatron begins to gain the upper hand, Optimus uses his Spark of Combination to seize Galvatron's Unicron energy. Both titans disolve, returned to their normal size... and Galvatron realizes Optimus planned this all along.

The Unicron orb still exists.

Galvatron leaves to go destroy Unicron, promising to return for Optimus. The Decepticons follow. The Autobots tend to Prime.

Kicker senses something, and finds what he's looking for: the Unicron orb! The... apple-sized Unicron orb. Kicker realizes that this tiny orb, barely bigger than his fist, is all that remains of Unicron. Kicker is furious at the waste of time, and raises the Energon Saber to destroy the orb, as the watching Alpha Q implores him not to do it.
"I can't explain it, Kicker, but I got a bad feeling something big's about to happen. It's a good thing I powered up. But no matter what happens, we gotta remain calm and cool.<br>
"I hope you know I'm going along with you, Jetfire."
"Don't worry, Jetfire. I'm not alone. You see, ever since I was a kid, I've felt I had a special purpose. And that's to bring peace, once and for all, to the universe."
Other Notes
Lost in Translation
While the dub doesn't openly get anything drastically wrong anything on the matter, its constant mangling of dialogue into stilted nonsense really blunts the basic point of this episode, which is that both Galvatron and Optimus Prime have been overcome by the essence of Unicron, with Unicron having actively taken possession of Galvatron to use as a new body, and Prime having drawn on the power of Unicron that exists within him and all Transformers. Prime's plan is to engage Galvatron in battle on the gamble that the Decepticon leader's hatred of Prime will allow him to overcome Unicron's influence (which it does). The character's eyes switch back and forth from their normal colors to green-tinted, the latter reflecting Unicronian possession (a key moment occurs when Galvatron's eyes turn back to normal, he comments on how much he hates Optimus Prime, and his eyes then turn green again), but it's fairly obvious that the English scriptwriters didn't get this, since the dubbed characters happily yammer on with their own personalities, regardless of what color their eyes are.

* In Super Link, Optimus tells Rodimus that he's being drawn to the same place that Galvatron is. The dub flubs it, having Optimus say "I suspect he's being drawn to the same place we are", as if it's come up before, and as if anyone besides Optimus himself feels the pull of Unicron.
* The point of Kicker and Jetfire's first conversation (dub version quoted above) is supposed to be Kicker announcing that he's going into space. The dub transmogrifies it into random sentences.
* Galvatron's "I loathe you": dub addition.
* Rodimus's "This is insane": dub addition.
* The dub butchers the conversation between the combiners (dub version quoted above.) The gist of it is supposed to be: Bruticus and Construction say they must go help their leader, and therefore have no time for Superion. They then rib Superion, asking if he shouldn't be off saving his own master; Superion says he has no master, and that Prime is his friend. The other two reply that they've never been able to stand that kind of babble, and that at least Galvatron destroyed Superion's brother (providing a tie-in to his appearance later in the episode.)
* Arcee reports that Galvatron and Optimus are heading to Jungle Planet... long after they've already landed there. In Super Link, she reports that they've crashed there.
* Snowcat's inexplicable declaration that "Besides, I wouldn't want to hurt Optimus!" is a dub flub. He's supposed to be saying that he doesn't want to be attacked by the two combatants.
* In Super Link, Superion Maximus makes a comment to the effect of "I'm borrowing these!" as he takes Constructicon Maximus's limbs. The line isn't present in the dub, making the rapidly-animated scene even more confusing.
* In the dub, Optimus says he can't allow Unicron to exist anymore, then very randomly tells Galvatron that he could get out of his predicament by becoming an Autobot. He's supposed to be saying that he will overcome Unicron's power within him, and that Galvatron should be able to do the same, if he's strong-willed enough. Optimus's challenge then angers Galvatron enough for him to break through Unicron's control.
* Kicker's ridiculous "I must bring peace to the universe" speech is supposed to be him saying that he is not alone because he has the wishes of his friends for peace in the universe with him. ...Okay, it's still a bunch of ridiculous wiffle, but still.
* Kicker isn't mad because his time was wasted; he's mad because... well, y'know. Because it's Unicron.

Pain Count
* "Uh?": 9
* Stock footage: none! Even a combination sequence is actually animated within the context of the scene—maybe a first for the series.
* Listen up: 1
* It's time to: 2
* We've gotta: 1
* Let's do it/this: 3
* Are you serious: 2
* Come on: 2
* That's impossible: 1
* Not if I can help it: 1
* We're counting on you: 1

Animation and/or technical glitches
* The opening pan of Galvatron's giant jet-mode is supposed to be fantastically impressive. Except—rather than actually animate the jet in motion- the animators have dragged a still image of the jet seen from the side across the frame—removing all depth or parallax from the scene and (due to the unfortunate alignment of two yellow sections at that angle) making it almost impossible to figure out what you're actually seeing until they cut to the wide shot.
* Superion Maximus's first line of dialog is, essentially, in Starscream's voice.
* When Superion Maximus steals Constructicon Maximus's limbs to defeat Bruticus Maximus, Superion has Steamhammer's shovel. The weirdness of this is increased by the fact that the character model of Steamhammer as Constructicon Maximus's torso frequently omits the shovel.
*Optimus and Galvatron's cel-animation fight doesn't flow quite as well in Energon as it does in Super Link due to unfinished animation at times.

Continuity errors
* After all this time, just two little laser blasts destroy all four of Superion Maximus's limbs? Why has this never worked before?!?
* When striking the final blow against Bruticus, Superion cries out "Power link!" Shouldn't that be reserved for when he combines with the limbs?

Miscellaneous trivia
* That huge explosion? That's Bruticus Maximus dying. They forgot to mention that.
* A rough surface texturing is used to indicate Galvatron and Optimus's Unicron-empowered inflated sizes, while flashes of green in their eye lighting further indicate the Unicron infection.
* It's not exactly an error, but the fade-cut away from Ironhide and Scorponok charging at each other is strangely abrupt. In Super Link, it's a commercial cut.
* If the "limb" robots of the Maximus combiner teams are actual individuals (with personalities and such), then Superion Maximus's appropriation of Constructicon Maximus's limbs for his own use is a violation of their free will, and quite creepy. ("Fortunately", Energon never shows the limbs in robot mode or suggests they have any personality of their own.)
* Galvatron gets the cel animation upgrade as he shows off his new, even-bigger body. Prime does too a moment later. Can you imagine what that fight would have been like without it?
* How do you defeat Unicron's raw essence? Hit it with a sword!

The general consenus, at least that I've heard, is that they were going for "Sky Carry" but mispelled his name. Roomaji for his name is "Su-ka-i Gya-rii". The only thing that seperates "gya" from "kya" is a single dakuten over the "ki" kana. The same thing happened with Metroplex. They dropped a dakuten from his name, thus he became "MetroFlex" in Japan. Similarly, Road Pig in G2 is called Road Big, with the only difference between a coherent name in the given name being a single dakuten.

This is pretty much why he's always been referred to as "Sky Garry". And since that's the spelling most Transformers fans are familiar with, I think it's best to go this route. --DrSpengler 05:45, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
I went and looked-up the Japanese pronunciation of "galley" just to be certain, and they write it as "ga-ree". Galley would almost make sense, but this *is* the Japanese we're talking about. The picture of Sky Garry punching through a Galaman comes from the first Battlestars installment, possibly set prior to Garry being assigned to find Prime's corpse.

A Super Mode is an auxiliary transformation some Cybertronians possess that is used sparingly, perhaps due to a higher energy consumption. This transformation often involves combining with unused portions of their alternate mode and bringing normally concealed weapons systems online. This form is often a variation on the robot mode, but there are many who possess vehicular or other Super Modes. In some continuities, it is referred to as a Battle Mode, Brute Mode, Hyper Mode or Ultra Mode. A robot-mode super mode is, amazingly enough, often called a Super Robot.

Fiction
Generation 1
One might easily consider Ultra Magnus one of the earliest examples of a Super Mode, due to his toy combining with his trailer to form a Super Robot. However, due to the recognition factor and possible confusion with Optimus Prime, he was never depicted in his primary robot mode. This made his Super Mode his de facto normal mode.

This was later superseded by Optimus Prime's upgrade into a Powermaster, by which he acquired a canonical Super Mode. However, after the first couple of issues he was rarely if ever shown in his smaller robot mode.

The Classics Voyager Jetfire toy has a removable head and large booster-kibble in robot mode which could be considered a super mode (the actual reason was to allow a toy that resembles Jetfire in both his toy and cartoon appearances).

As an example of a vehicular super mode, Tracks possessed a "flight mode". Similarly, the Omnibots possessed vehicular "assault modes" with weapons systems deployed from their alt modes.

Masterforce (Japan Only)
Ginrai, much like his American Powermaster counterpart, possessed both a robot mode and a Super Robot mode from combining with his trailer. As well, he could combine this powerful mode with the Godbomber drone to form a still larger and shinier "God Ginrai" mode. Though Godbomber had no counterpart in the English-language fiction, the rerelease of Powermaster Optimus Prime included the mold improvements featured in Ginrai as well as the Godbomber figure, renamed Apex Bomber, who formed Prime's "Apex Armor."

Victory (Japan Only)
Star Saber was a double Brainmaster, starting as a small robot known as the Brain of Courage, combining into a larger robot named Saber, and finally forming an even larger robot known as Star Saber (natch). This robot could then be enhanced further by combining with Victory Leo to form Victory Saber.

Beast Wars II (Japan Only)
In the Beast Wars II movie "Lio Convoy in Imminent Danger", the characters Lio Convoy and Optimus Primal (called Convoy) used the power of their Matrixes to transform into Flash Lio Convoy and Burning Convoy in order to defeat the out of control and overwhelmingly powerful Majin Zarak.

Lio Convoy also possessed the ability to merge with his doppelganger Lio Junior to become what was known as the "Legendary Warrior". Interestingly enough, the "Legendary Warrior" was merely Lio Convoy colored completely green, but he was immensely powerful and managed to defeat the Angolmois powered Galvatron.

Robots in Disguise
Optimus Prime initially had a smaller robot mode composed of just his vehicle mode cab, which could then combine with pieces of his "trailer" to form a larger, more powerful Battle Mode (this mode was called Super Fire Convoy). Later on, he and Ultra Magnus could combine to form the Super Robot Omega Prime. Neither was the dominant personality in this fusion, much to Magnus's disappointment.

Also, the three Autobot Brothers Side Burn, Prowl, and X-Brawn each possess the ability to Power Up into a Supercharged form, after receiving a power boost from Ultra Magnus when the Matrix was being shared between him and Prime. In contrast to more typical super-modes which use unused altmode bits or hidden weapons, their super modes are examples of spontaneous recoloration.

Unicron Trilogy
Armada
Optimus Prime could combine with his trailer to form his Super Mode. He could also combine with Jetfire to become Jet Optimus. Both of these Super Modes could be further enhanced by mounting Overload on their shoulders. In the Japanese version Micron Legend, the names used are "Jet Convoy" and "Magna Jet Convoy", respectively.

Megatron could form a Super Mode by combining with the various components that make up Tidal Wave; Micron Legend uses "Burning Megatron".

Energon
Optimus Prime could combine with the four drone vehicles stored in his trailer, with each forming an arm or a leg Scramble City style, leading to a wide variety of Super Robot modes. Prime could be further enhanced by combining with Wing Saber to form either his heavily armed "Fight Mode" or the more maneuverable "Flight Mode." Prime could also combine with Omega Supreme to form "Optimus Supreme." The names "Wing Convoy - Cannon Mode", "Wing Convoy - Jet Mode", and "Omega Convoy" are used in the Japanese version Super Link.

Also, every Autobot (that wasn't an Omnicon) possessed the ability to combine with the others in pairs to form "Powerlinx" versions of themselves, thanks to the Spark of Combination.

As well, both Landmine and Bulkhead possessed "Brute Modes," which were formed by combining with previously unused portions of their vehicle forms.

There are also the "Hyper Modes" assumed by the Decepticons. Aside from the smaller Terrorcon, and Decepticon combiners, every large Decepticon has a hyper mode. Sometimes, it is just a minor repositioning of parts, as for Slugslinger, but in many cases, it reveals a hidden weapon or accessories like Sharkticon's side cannons or Snow Cat's skis. In the case of Scorponok, Shockblast, and Six Shot, their third mode (scorpion or satellite) acts as the vehicle mode's hyper mode, the vehicle mode being a plane or a laser tank.

Cybertron
In Transformers Cybertron, Optimus Prime transforms into Super Mode. Most of his trailer goes onto his back while two leg pieces connect to the blue part of his legs and his mouthplate comes over his face. Optimus Prime goes into Super Mode when fighting in battle against anybody vaguely threatening.

Optimus Prime could also enter a number of Super Mode configurations by combining with other characters, such as "Savage Claw Mode" with Leobreaker and "Sonic Wing Mode" with Wing Saber. In the Japanese version Galaxy Force, "Liger Convoy" and "Sonic Convoy" respectively.

Conversely, Megatron could form the "Dark Claw Mode' with Nemesis Breaker, and similarly named "Liger Megatron" in Galaxy Force.

IDW G1 Comics
Nova Prime possessed a Super Robot mode formed by combining with his vehicle mode's trailer. This form also granted him wings and thus the power of flight.

Thunderwing revealed that not only were his robot and jet modes enhanced by the Pretender process, but he also possessed an extremely powerful tertiary "Ultra Mode." However this form drew heavily from the reserves of Ore-13 that were powering him, causing the enhanced energon variant to go critical and burn him out from the inside. Damaging him beyond repair. Or not. Stormbringer

Live action continuity
After being critically injured by Scorponok, Jetfire offered his parts to Optimus Prime, who was still recovering after being resurrected and needed assistance in fighting the Fallen. Jetfire then ripped out his spark core and died. Ratchet then instructed Jolt to transplant the afterburners and weapons onto Optimus Prime's structure. Once completed, Optimus Prime was left with wings, a missile launcher, and a machine gun. Flying off, Optimus broke through the debris The Fallen had raised to protect the solar harvester and destroyed the machine, then attacked the Fallen. Megatron came to the aid of his master, but Optimus used the afterburners to send Megatron flying through some ruins. The Fallen was able to tear off one of Prime's thrusters and strike him with it, but Optimus Prime ultimately triumphed and ripped out the Fallen's spark, forcing Megatron and Starscream to retreat. Following this, Optimus detached Jetfire's donated parts. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Galvatron kicks the Beast Wars on Gaea into overdrive when he summons forth one of the greatest monstrosities of the past, Majin Zarak, to lay waste to the Maximals.

Synopsis
Above the Planet Gaea, where Lio Convoy and his Maximals are fighting the Beast Wars against Galvatron and his Predacons, a strange ship appears. It disrupts a musical battle between the Jointrons and the Seacons, plowing through them and breaking apart their combined forms. As the ship draws nearer, the radar on the Yukikaze warns the Maximals of its approach. They turn to Lio Convoy for directions. Lio Convoy rises with a twinkle in his eye.

Over on the Galvaburg II, Galvatron and Gigastorm had discovered the approaching ship, too. Gigastorm recommends destroying it, but Galvatron has a "feeling" that it will bring the Predacons great fortune.

The ship crashes into the frozen tundra of Gaia's North Pole. Apache picks it up on his scanners and Lio Convoy orders a unit to investigate. Lio Junior begs to go, but the other Maximals shoot him down, telling him to go to his room and take a nap or whatever it is whippersnappers do these days. Lio Convoy orders Lio Junior to stay behind in case they need back-up, much to his dismay. Tasmania Kid interjects, asking Convoy to let Lio Junior go and that he'll take responsibility for him. Lio Convoy concedes and allows Lio Junior to participate.

Taking Santon and Skywarp along, Lio Junior and Tasmania Kid arrive in the frozen north. They then change to beast mode and begin searching. They eventually find the ship, seemingly abandoned, and Lio Junior wastes no time rushing inside to explore. Against Skywarp's advisement, Lio Junior begins pressing random buttons on a computer console and activates a teleport gate. No one knows what what a "teleport gate" is except Tasmania Kid (oddly). He explains that it is a device that can control space-time and pluck living creatures from any point in history, including Transformers! The computer, however, requires a "control unit" in order to function.

Lio Junior finds the control unit (a rock-like spear) inside a floating ball, but before he can grab it, Max B drops in and swipes it. He then leaves and meets back up with Hellscream, Thrustor and Dirgegun. Being a brash young stereotype, Lio Junior chases after Max B by himself and demands the Predacons fork over the control unit. Hellscream casually brushes his threat aside, telling Lio Junior to "go home and suck on his mother's breast". Lio Junior attacks, but it tossed aside by Hellscream without much effort. The other Maximals finally catch up and Lio Junior tells Skywarp and Santon its time to combine. Skywarp refuses, telling Lio Convoy that they aren't spiritually in sync enough to combine.

Lio Junior gets frustrated and wrecklessly attacks Hellscream, snatching back the control unit. Hellscream responds by firing a powerful "Terrorstorm" blast at him. Tasmania Kid, however, leaps in front of him and takes the whole of the blast. Before he passes out, he tells Lio Junior that apparently there's nothing that can stop his selfish behavior. The Predacons then combine their power and attack the injured Maximals with a volley of firepower. Like a helpless little baby, Lio Junior cries and begs for them to please stop. Luckily, Lio Convoy and the other Maximals arrive just in time to stop them and scare them off.

The battle over and Kid not responding to treatment, Lio Convoy asks for a private meeting with Lio Junior. Lio Convoy scolds him, telling him that he ordered him to investigate, not engage in battle. Lio Junior snaps back, saying that if it weren't for him, the Predacons would have the control unit. Now, the Maximals have the power of the teleport gate in their hands. Lio Convoy tells him none of that matters, since it may be at the cost of Kid's life. He asks if the control unit was worth Kid's life. Lio Junior responds by saying he doesn't have any friends because everyone's always making fun of him and he just wanted to prove himself. Lio Convoy asks him if he's forgotten the reason the Maximals are fighting. Lio Junior apparently has, so Convoy reminds him that it's to protect the peace in the universe. He then says that anyone who has forgotten the Maximal reason for fighting is no comrade of his. Lio Junior throws a tantrum, saying he no longer wants to be a Maximal and that with the power of the control unit, he'll defeat the Predacons himself. He then transforms and runs off.

As the Maximals fly off in the Yukikaze, tending to a mortally wounded Tasmania Kid, Dirgegun reports to Galvatron on the Galvaburg II that the control unit is required to operate the teleport gate. Galvatron is apparently aware of Lio Junior's tantrum and mocks Lio Convoy's inability to take command of a single brat. He then finds Lio Junior alone in a forest and, with the rest of the Predacons, approaches him. Galvatron says that he came to help; the forest is full of dangerous animals and pitfalls. The Predacons will happily take the wayward cub in and protect him so long as he hands over the control unit. Lio Junior refuses. Galvatron then sits down and decides to tell him "the truth". The teleport gate is actually a doomsday weapon capable of destroying a whole planet. The Predacons activated it by mistake and now they need the control unit to shut it down, otherwise the planet will be destroyed in under an hour.

Lio Junior is about to buy it, when the still injured and bandaged Kid comes crawling out of the woods, warning Junior not to listen. Junior isn't sure who to believe, but decides that preventing the detruction of Gaia is a sure way to earn the respect of Lio Convoy and the others.

As Kid collapses, Junior returns with Galvatron to the Galvaburg II and hands over the control unit. Immediately, Galvatron orders Gigastorm to release the teleport gate and summon the most powerful and vicious Transformer in history: Megatron (or maybe Megatron; see Note below). Hellscream then throws Lio Junior in a cell and taunts him with the imminent destruction of the Maximals.

On the Yukikaze, Kid returns and tells everyone that Lio Junior has defected to the Predacons. Lio Convoy swears to give him a lot more than a stearn talking to when they get him back, but Tasmania Kid urges them not to judge Junior so harshly. He says he knows how Lio Junior feels, as he was also a young runt trying to prove himself not long ago.

At the teleport gate, Gigastorm locks onto Megatron's wavelength and activates the machine. Three units pop out of the side of the ship, float into the sky and open up a triangular interdimensional doorway. Through it, something big, horrible and most certainly not Megatron falls throug, nearly crushing the Autorollers in the process. Galvatron smacks his brother, Gigastorm, for screwing up the coordinates and demands Hellscream find out what that thing is. Galvatron's mood changes when he learns that its the great Majin Zarak. Majin Zarak transforms into a gigantic holy crap gonna kill you monst and Galvatron takes command of his control unit (an old fashioned nautical stearing wheel, oddly). After thanking Lio Junior via video phone for providing him with a weapon superior to Megatron, he uses Majin Zarak to destroy a gigantic iceburg and then transforms him to aircraft carrier mode.

At the Yukikaze, their sensors discover the legendary Majin Zarak, much to everyone's horror. Lio Convoy orders them to attack, anyway. They arrive, only to find that Majin Zarak's aircraft carrier mode can also move over land. The Maximals attack in a small craft, but are quickly swatted away by Zarak's superior firepower. They decide to land and attack fromthe ground.

On the Galvaburg II, Lio Junior breaks out of his cell and escapes. Thrustor and Diregun give chase, but luckily for Junior, Skywarp and Santon arrive to even the odds and fight them off. Skywarp invites Junior to help in the battle against Zarak, but Junior says there's a place they must go, first. Skywarp suggests they all go as one and the three of them fuse into Magnaboss II. He gets blasted in the chest by the retreating Thurstor, though, and is forced to march to the alien ship with a bad injury. With his last ounce of strength, Magnaboss uses his own powersource to charge the teleport gate and summons a mysterious figure.

Back at the canyon, the Maximals fight their way past the Autorollers, Hellscream and Max B, but are still overwhelmed by Majin Zarak's power. Lio Convoy makes it onto the carrier and sends Gigastorm flying away with his Lio Typhoon. Galvatron's decided he's had enough and transforms Majin Zarak into his frickin' Godzilla mode. Zarak then uses the three cannons on his back to destroy a whole mountain range and scatter the Maximals. Galvatron thinks he's won, but he suddenly receives a Maximal text message: "You think you've won, but we won't be defeated. Let us settle this. Come to point B-2. -Convoy"

Buried beneath tons of rock, Lio Convoy hears a familiar voice urging him to fight on. He explains that he was summoned by Magnaboss, a selfless warrior who used his own power to bring him here. Lio Convoy is sorry he underestimated Magnaboss (and by extension, Lio Junior) and asks who the mysterious warrior is. They shake hands and in a blast of light, the tons of rock are cleared. Magnaboss greets Lio Convoy and tells him he's rescued the other Maximals. He then introduces them to...wait for it...wait for it...

Optimus Primal!

The "legendary General Commander" swears to help the injured Maximals win at all costs. Lio Convoy decides that while he, Primal and Bighorn attack Majin Zarak, Scuba, Apache and the rest will try and find his weak point. Magnaboss wants to fight, but Lio Convoy says he's too injured. Once again, Tasmania Kid convinces him to let the brat fight. The Insectrons then report that Majin Zarak is headed for point B-2, a narrow canyon where his bulky body will be useless. The Maximals then rally for their final battle.

At point B-2, Primal and Convoy confront Galvatron, much to his surprise to see the two warriors standing together. Galvatron attempts to rush the leaders, but with Tasmania Kid's power source channeling into him, Magnaboss is strong enough to pick the aircraft carrier up and hurl it onto its side. The blow knocks Galvatron out of the ship, but he's rescued by Gigastorm, who carries him off in his hovercraft mode.

Suddenly, Majin Zarak transforms on his own. Turns out, he's alive! Majin Zarak appears invincible until Diver chimes in, having just discovered his weak spot. The third eye on his forehead is where all his nerve centers are clustered. A direct hit will destroy him, just like in a video game!

Hearing this, Optimus Primal and Lio Convoy synchronize their Energon Matrices and upgrade into Flash Lio Convoy and Burning Convoy. Burning Convoy transforms to monkey mode and rides atop Flash Lio Convoy's lion mode. They then leap into Zarak's face and Burning Convoy lands a mighty punch into his third eye. Flying away, they then combine the power of the Energon Matrices into the "Double Matrix Blaster", destroy his eye and blow him to smithereens.

The battle won, they return to the teleport gate. Lio Junior begs Primal to stay, but he reminds them that he still has to win the Beast Wars on planet Energoa. Besides, he says, their army is fine just the way it is. Apache interjects and says that, after some research, he's concluded that because the device plays havoc with time and space, it could conceivable destroy the universe, hence why whoever built it sent it to Gaia to be destroyed. Optimus Primal then returns to his proper place and time and the Maximals destroy the gate behind him.
Which Megatron?
It is unclear which "Megatron" Galvatron and his crew intended to summon across time and space: Generation 1 Megatron (who seems to better fit the given description of "the greatest and most vicious Transformer in history") or Beast Wars Megatron (who provides a better parallel to the appearance of Optimus Primal in the film).

At the time the movie was released, it was understood, per a Beast Wars II toy catalog which depicted Galvatron and Beast Wars Megatron as rivals, that the characters from Beast Wars and Beast Wars II hailed from the same "home" era despite their time-travel escapades. This, combined with the characters' antagonistic shared history, make it less likely that Beast Wars Megatron was the object of Galvatron's search.

The waters are significantly muddied by a retcon performed many years later by the Kiss Players timeline. This chronicle ignored the catalog and indicated that the Beast Wars II characters came from "tens of thousands of years" in the future, arguably (although likely) erasing Galvatron and Beast Wars Megatron's history together. In the retconned timeline, then, the above argument doesn't hold.

It doesn't help things that Japan occasionally "forgot" that Beast Wars Megatron and Optimus Primal were separate characters from their Generation 1 counterparts, so that may also be a factor in the ambiguity. For example, in this very film, the Beast Wars II Maximals venerate Optimus Primal as a "Legendary Supreme Commander" despite his meager rank as a starship captain. Of course, Primal would go on to save all of Cybertron in Beast Machines, making the title more than fitting, but that cartoon hadn't been produced at the time the movie was released.

Other notes
*Lio Convoy in Imminent Danger is the third portion of Beast Wars Special Super Lifeform Transformers, starring the Beast Wars II cast.

*Due to the presence of the Angolmois upgraded Predacons but the overall lack of the Nemesis as an immediate threat, this movie likely takes place between episode 32, "The Lio Convoy Assassination Plot", and episode 38, "Fly Out! Planet Gaea", of the Beast Wars II animated series.

*Several Beast Wars II regular characters are not featured in this film, including NAVI-chan, Artemis and Moon.
