==Synopsis==

[[Jack Darby|Jack]] and [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]] walk through [[Kaon]], guided by the light of the [[Key to Vector Sigma]]. They come upon a circular clearing, and the key glows intensely, indicating that they must be close. Suddenly, the ground begins to shake, and cracks appear in the surface. The duo watch in awe as a passageway rises from the ground, its door illuminated the same as the Key. It opens, but just as the two are about to enter, an enormous creature rears up from atop the passage. Arcee's [[Autobot]] symbol catches its eye, and it charges her, Arcee's minute strength doing nothing to injure it. She is quickly incapacitated, and the creature notices Jack, giving temporary pursuit until distracted by Arcee. Jack radios [[Ratchet (Prime)|Ratchet]] and is told that the creature is an [[Insecticon (Prime)|Insecticon]], one of many sentries left to guard the dead [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Arcee tells Jack to go, to his surprise, but he realizes the necessity. As he enters, the door closes behind him.

On the ''[[Nemesis (Prime)|Nemesis]]'', [[Megatron (Prime)|Megatron]] inquires as to [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Orion]]'s progress on [[Project Iacon]]. Orion says it's tough work, but Megatron says otherwise, revealing to him that all of his unsanctioned research has been recorded. Orion takes the opportunity to ask about his reported affiliation with the Autobots, but Megatron merely tells him to get back to work. Orion decides that enough is enough, and erases his progress in the archives. Megatron laughs, and shows the clerk that he has been recorded and documented in his pursuits. [[Soundwave (Prime)|Soundwave]] intrudes, to show Megatron that one of their sentries came online on Cybertron. Orion asks how anything is alive on the planet, but Megatron tells him to continue his work-or be terminated.

Back on Cybertron, Arcee tangles with the enormous bug, but is no match for its brute strength. Finished with her, the Insecticon turns its attention to the fleshling, and breaks its way into the tunnel.

In the depths of the tunnel, Jack hears a [[Scraplet|familiar noise]], and uproots a metal bar for protection.

Back on the ''Nemesis'', Megatron reviews the reports with Soundwave. He learns of the [[space bridge]]'s activation, its endpoint, and the fact that it is still active. He quickly deduces the Autobots' plan.

In Cybertron's gullet, Jack arrives at the chamber of [[Vector Sigma]]. He proceeds to the center of a circular platform, where he places the Key. The entire chamber begins to transform and glow with the Key's energy, and the enormous supercomputer reveals itself, and begins to transfer its energy to the Key.

On the ''Nemesis'', Orion is hassled by the guards. He appeals to their "good nature", saying that he believes Megatron will use the information he is agglomerating for nefarious purposes. Good-old fashioned police brutality ensues as the helpless clerk is kicked and punched by his guards.

In the chamber, Jack is antsy about the speed of his download. His problems lie beyond his dial-up, however, because behind him, a horde of Scraplets has just taken notice of the ''very'' alive metal before him in the form of the Key to Vector Sigma. Jack is helpless to fend them off, and they begin to snack on the download port. He reports frantically on his position to ground control

In the space bridge chamber, however, the Autobots have bigger fish to fry as Megatron steps out of a [[GroundBridge]] to them. Ratchet vows to protect their charges, and the battle begins, Megatron easily flooring every Autobot, Ratchet and [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] twice.

On Cybertron, Arcee awakes to find a Scraplet chewing on her foot. She blasts it off, and notices the opened passage—and the absent Insecticon. Transforming, she speeds into the passageway.

Jack valiantly smashes the Scraplets as they feed, but is unable to stop their progress towards the Matrix. Another problem presents itself behind him in the form of the Insecticon. It charges towards him, but stops in its tracks, staring at the key. Jack realizes why, and the Scraplets suddenly become a blessing. He formulates an idea, pulling a Scraplet off the Key and pointing it at the aggressor. The Insecticon turns tail as it realizes what's happening, but the Scraplets give chase and latch on, quickly chewing through the giant insect as it falls to its doom, limbs disconnected. The download completes, and Jack retrieves the key. Arcee finally arrives, and the two depart.

The [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicon]] guards continue to beat down Orion, and one of them lets slip that it's a privilege to beat the former leader of the Autobots. Orion pleads with them to stop, and in his defense, he accidentally transforms his arms into blasters. Realizing they're in trouble, the guards fire on Pax, but he quickly dispatches them both.

Arcee and Jack arrive at the space bridge portal, and radio Ratchet about their position. Total silence on the comm tip them off that something is wrong, and, undetected on the other end of the portal, Megatron waits to end the lineage of the Primes. However, he is surprised by the sudden arrival of Orion Pax, who vows that, no matter what his heritage might be, his spark is aligned with the Autobots. He deploys his blades, and charges for Megatron, but is quickly defeated. Megatron says that he has much to learn, and prepares to kill him, but Arcee speeds through the bridge and collides with him, sending them both flying. In the light of the bridge, Jack presents the Key to Orion, who hesitates, but accepts his destiny.

The Key begins to upload the Matrix to its host. Megatron, preoccupied with fighting Arcee, notices this, and desperately runs at him. However, Orion Pax—now ''Optimus Prime'' once again—isn't ready to go down again, and trounces his enemy. A GroundBridge portal opens up, and the Autobots retreat.

At base, the Autobots and humans rejoice at their reunion. Noticing his Decepticon symbol, Optimus asks Ratchet what had happened. He replies that it was their darkest hour, but at every point along the way, Optimus was truly an Autobot at spark.

==Synopsis==
[[Miko Nakadai|Miko]] and [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] are enjoying a monster truck rally on the [[television|TV]], much to [[Ratchet (Prime)|Ratchet]]'s annoyance. Ratchet thinks they shouldn't be watching it, and that Bulkhead would be better off helping [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]]'s mission to retrieve a [[Cybertronian data cylinder]]. He interrupts their monster truck footage to explain how the cylinders were created during [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]'s [[Golden Age]] and hidden throughout the galaxy after the war broke out. Bulkhead and Miko are bored by it all, but Optimus contacts base to ask for backup, which is Bulkhead's cue to head for the field. Ratchet hands Miko a mop, and she's so enthusiastic about having to clean up that she drops it and runs through the [[GroundBridge]] after Bulkhead.

On the battlefield, she finds the 'Bots battling [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]], [[Breakdown (Prime)|Breakdown]] and a bunch of [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicons]]. Immediately, she runs into trouble, as a Vehicon Bulkhead is punching staggers back towards her. She takes cover behind a pile of rock, before spotting the cylinder sitting nearby. While everyone fights, Miko runs over to the cylinder and phones Ratchet. Ratchet tries providing a GroundBridge, but Miko can't give him precise enough coordinates to grab the cylinder. She tries pushing the device towards the GroundBridge and even kicking it, but all that succeeds in doing is activating the cylinder. At that moment, Bulkhead spots her and runs over, only to trip and take the cylinder's charge in the forehead. With Bulkhead temporarily out, Knock Out grabs the cylinder and the Decepticons split. Moments later, Bulkhead is back on his feet, apparently none the worse for wear.

Bulkhead undergoes a medical check back at base, but insists he's fine. Ratchet tells him to help Miko tidy up. After announcing Ratchet is "null vector squared", Bulkhead wonders if they have any paint.

On the ''[[Nemesis (Prime)|Nemesis]]'' in orbit, the Decepticons have discovered that the cylinder is empty. They quickly realize the energy from the device has ended up in Bulkhead.

Miko draws Ratchet's attention to what Bulkhead is painting, which Ratchet finds is a scientific formula. After another scan, Ratchet locates the cylinder's energy in Bulkhead's head. They determine that the device interpreted Miko's kick as an attack and ejected the data into Bulkhead, and the equations Bulkhead's been writing down are for synthetic [[energon (fuel)|energon]]. The Autobots are excited and collect the equations as Bulkhead writes them. Miko quickly becomes bored and wants to draw Bulkhead away from his work. Ratchet has grave news, however—the data is slowly consuming Bulkhead's mind, and by the time the formula is complete, Bulkhead's mind may be gone altogether. The other Autobots believe they might be able to get the data back into the cylinder. Miko gets out her guitar to try and distract Bulkhead, but when he doesn't recognize Ratchet's name, she figures something's up and goes to Ratchet to get the truth.

Knock Out reports that they've detected the cylinder's energy signature, and [[Megatron (Prime)|Megatron]] decides to go himself to avoid any more failures. Rather than Bulkhead, he and the Vehicons find Optimus, [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]] and [[Bumblebee (Prime)|Bumblebee]]. Optimus has a deal for him: If Megatron gives them the cylinder, Optimus will return it to him restored with energy.

Miko talks to Bulkhead, but he's becoming increasingly unresponsive and fails to recall her name when she asks if he remembers it. Finally, she steals his mop brush and leads him through the GroundBridge.

Megatron is thinking on Optimus's proposal when he's contacted by Knock Out, who has detected Bulkhead's energy signature. Megatron orders him to retrieve the Autobot's head.

At the monster truck race track, Miko attempts to jog Bulkhead's memory, but he's too busy painting the formula on the wall to take any notice of her. Her sorrow is interrupted by Knock Out and Breakdown, so she manages to persuade Bulkhead to follow her and hide among the monster trucks.

On hearing they've caught up with Bulkhead, Megatron sics the Vehicons on Optimus's team.

Miko tries to find somewhere outside the Decepticon jamming range so she can use [[Miko's phone|her phone]]. Knock Out and Breakdown search for Bulkhead, until Knock Out uses a tracking device to find the Autobot. Bulkhead transforms and scrawls a glyph on Knock Out's chest, but before the outraged Decepticon can do anything, Breakdown renders Bulkhead unconscious. Knock Out then prepares to remove Bulkhead's head.

The Autobots finish off the Vehicons, only for Megatron to simply crush the cylinder and fly off. Ratchet reports that Bulkhead and Miko have left the base.

Miko takes a swing at Knock Out with the mop, but misses and falls against Bulkhead. The cylinder energy promptly triggers, firing off into the sky. Knock Out checks Bulkhead and finds the energy is gone. Infuriated, he and Breakdown are ready to take some revenge, but are forced to retreat when the other Autobots GroundBridge in.

The Autobots return Bulkhead's comatose body back to base, where Miko tearfully blames herself for his condition. Ratchet suggests that it's too early to tell how long Bulkhead might remain like that and anything could trigger his awakening, and so Miko decides to try her guitar. After she strums a chord, Bulkhead stirs and wakes up, back to normal.

Starscream attempts to stop the Decepticons from giving chase through the space bridge, but his attentions are drawn away by a barrage of Autobot firepower, so he instead delegates [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] to pursue them in his place.

[[Wing Saber (Energon)|Wing Saber]] attacks Starscream solo, and unsurprisingly, gets blasted out of the sky. As the other Autobots fire in concert at the giant Decepticon, Wing Saber swallow his pride and asks Optimus Prime if he remembers a past incident in the [[Chaar asteroid belt]]. Whatever this past incident entailed, Prime believes it will not work here, but Wing Saber is undeterred, and runs head-long at Optimus in an attempt to replicate its effects. Deeply amused at the sight of two Autobots repeatedly running into each other, Starscream uses his incredible new powers to rip up the ground surrounding him, filling the air with a deadly field of rocks and debris. Prime and Wing Saber take to the air, but are brought down to Earth with a bump by the flying rocks. Wing Saber is ready to throw in the towel, but a pep talk from Optimus soon brings him around.

Out in space, Leobreaker, Override and Evac continue their race along the space bridge to Cybertron, with Decepticon fire blazing all around them. Megatron is in no great hurry to catch up to the three Autobots, though: after all, he knows exactly where they're going. As such, he is able to turn his attention from them for a moment when Thunderblast emerges through the space bridge behind them, and immediately offers Megatron her services, claiming that she has no desire to keep working for Starscream. Megatron agrees and accepts her into his fold, sending her on ahead after the Autobots, before commenting to Scourge that he doesn't trust her, but will happily sacrifice a willing pawn.

Back on Earth, Wing Saber and Optimus Prime recall some of the specifics of the Chaar asteroid belt incident, which involved them flying back-to-back to navigate a massive field of asteroids and save the life of a stranded spacefarer, and Wing Saber very nearly meeting a messy end when he lost control. With the other Autobots covering them as best they can, the pair repeat the strategy and dive into the heart of Starscream's makeshift barrier. Weaving and dodging, the pair are nearly through the field when Optimus is struck by a rock and sent careening. Wing Saber swoops to his aid, repaying the favor from long ago, and together, the pair burst free of the rock field and reveal the hidden power they experienced in the original Chaar incident—the power of combination!

As the amazed Autobots watch from below, Optimus Prime and Wing Saber merge into "Sonic Wing Mode", and face off against Starscream with their incredible speed and strength. Stunned by their power, far in excess of merely the sum of the two Autobots' own, Starscream demands to know where their strength is coming from, and Prime tells him that their true power comes from their team and working to save the universe, not just fighting for themselves. Starscream denies this, declaring that power is all that matters, but Prime soon proves him wrong as he weaves between his laser blasts and brings him to his knees with a slash of his new swords.

As the Autobot celebrate, [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]] sneaks onto the scene and teleports the fallen Starscream away. Not noticing this strange development, Prime address his Autobots, and informs them that they are all heading to Cybertron right now. The Autobots have been fighting against the odds for too long... now it's time to take charge!

The discovery of an [[Atlantis Pattern]] at the bottom of the ocean, in the heart of the [[Bermuda Triangle]], prompts the kids to tell the [[Autobot]]s the legend of [[Atlantis]]. Intrigued by this fantastical tale, the Autobots decide to check out this new pattern thoroughly, but unfortunately, their departure for Bermuda is observed by [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]], who transmits a message to [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] on the [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]] to inform him of this. Megatron receives his message just after finishing a sparring match with [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]], which ends when both opponents pull their punches at the last second.

Also on Jungle Planet is the unconscious Autobot [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Overhaul]], who awakens to find that the pacifist guru of Jungle Planet, [[Backstop (Cybertron)|Backstop]], is responsible for saving him from the earthquake that had previously threatened his life. The gruff Overhaul is not immediately forthcoming with his saviour, but, injured and unable to go anywhere, he eventually softens and tells Backstop of his mission to locate the [[Cyber Planet Key]]s. They are soon joined by Backstop's pupil [[Snarl (Cybertron)|Snarl]], who has been working under Scourge in order to keep an eye on him. Backstop tells Overhaul how power has corrupted Scourge into a tyrannical ruler, and he fears that the power of the Cyber Planet Keys could have a similar effect.

Back on [[Earth]], the Autobots arrive at the shoreline, and despite some words of concern from [[Scattorshot (Cybertron)|Scattorshot]], they just drive straight into the water. Predictably, they start to sink, so [[Bud Hansen|Bud]] has to dive in and show them how to swim. With this task accomplished, the kids board the [[Mini-Con]]s, and they all start swimming down into the dark depths of the Bermuda Triangle, marvelling at the sea creatures and wrecked vehicles they find as they go. They soon locate the Atlantis Pattern and begin excavating the undersea mountain in which it is embedded, eventually uncovering some kind of entranceway. Just as [[Vector Prime]], the kids and the Mini-Cons are about to enter, however, Megatron, Starscream and [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]] appear and attack! The other Autobots hold them off while Vector Prime's group enters the doorway, but they fight with some difficulty, since their lasers won't work underwater.

Vector Prime's team discovers that the entrance is an airlock, which leads them to a huge mechanical control room. [[Safeguard (Cybertron)|Safeguard]] disconnects from Vector Prime and brings the room online, at which point Vector Prime realizes the truth of the situation: They are standing within the lost Cybertronian starship, the ''Atlantis'', which came to Earth in ancient times, inspiring the legend of the sunken city when it malfunctioned and crashed into the ocean! Desperate to get the precious craft out of Megatron's reach, Vector Prime activates the ship's propulsion system and wrests it free of its mountain prison. To prevent humans from spotting the ''Atlantis'' when it surfaces, Optimus Prime quickly carries Scattorshot to the surface ahead of the ship so that he can hide its presence with jamming signals. The [[Decepticon]]s continue to press their attack, however, so Vector Prime activates the ship's warp system and teleports it away to parts unknown. With their quarry having vanished, the Decepticons pull out, and both factions must now work to discover where the ''Atlantis'' has disappeared.

And standing on a nearby rocky outcrop, watching the whole scene unfold, is a mysterious [[Sideways (RID)|black and orange robot]], who resolves to have the Autobots and Decepticons soon dancing to his tune like puppets...

With the discovery of the crashed ''[[Atlantis]]'' on [[Gigantion]], [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] gathers the [[Autobot]]s on the bridge of the ''[[Ogygia]]'' in order to formulate a plan to finally rescue [[Bud Hansen|Bud]] and the [[Mini-Con]]s, who have long been trapped on the ancient starship.

Onboard the ''Atlantis'', [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]] comes to, and is chewed out by [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]]. When the Autobots attack, Starscream declares he's still weakened, and sends Sideways out to handle the intruders. Sideways plays it up all loyal in front of Starscream ("''Oui, mon capitan!''"), but as soon as he's alone, he starts bitching. He heads outside and battles Optimus Prime and [[Wing Saber (Energon)|Wing Saber]], unaware that the combined Autobots are serving as a distraction while [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]] and the [[Cybertron Defense Team]] infiltrate the ''Atlantis'' by ground. This quartet are not the first to get on board, however, as Bud, [[Jolt (Cybertron)|Jolt]] and [[Reverb (Cybertron)|Reverb]] discover when they hear an ominous rumbling in the ship's ventilation system. Before long, the creature bursts out of a vent and reveals itself to be a [[Scrapmetal (race)|Scrapmetal]], but when the trio try to run, they find it's not an ordinary Scrapmetal... it's one piloted by Bud's brother [[Coby Hansen|Coby]], who has come to their rescue!

Outside, Optimus fires a Cyber-Key-enhanced blast at Sideways, but [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] arrives and yanks him out of the way. Starscream mutters that once again, he's the only one he can trust, and begins pressing keys. The Autobots soon feel the effect of Starscream's machinations outside, as the ship begins rumble as they are reunited with Bud and the Mini-Cons. Optimus notes it's too damaged to fly, but [[Scattorshot (Cybertron)|Scattorshot]], who's been taking readings, notes that that's not the problem: Starscream is powering up the main guns using the engines' power. [[Quickmix (Cybertron)|Quickmix]] arrives, snarling that he's not about to let some "ratchet-headed offworlder" destroy any city, and with the aid of his Mini-Con partner [[Stripmine]], he begins pumping untold amounts of quick-drying cement that covers the entire ship and starts filling the crevice. His plans foiled, trapped and out of power, Starscream can do little more than profane.

Back on the ''Ogygia'', thanks are exchanged, and both Bud and Lori ask Coby when he's going to build each of ''them'' a giant robot. Coby apologizes for only having parts enough for one, and then goes on to show everyone what else the machine can do, transforming it into the [[Cobybot]]! Optimus sees Scattorshot's hand in the robot, but Scattorshot claims he didn't do ''that'' much of the work, and notes that the 'bot hasn't got any onboard weapons systems for safety. Optimus approves, and places an Autobot [[insignia]] on the Cobybot's shoulder-armor, telling Coby that from now on, when he changes modes, he should psyche himself up by shouting "TRANSFORM!" There is laughter all around, but Prime has to regretfully bring the merriment to an end so that the Autobots can put a plan to recover the [[Cyber Planet Key]] in motion. Using the data drive Coby had previously found, Scattorshot discovers there are four main routes to the central layer, but with no way to tell which one is the quickest, the Autobots decide to split up into teams to cover them all. A backup team remains on the ''Ogygia'' just in case.

Back in the normal universe, Primus carefully rations his energy, firing periodic blasts to keep the [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] from expanding too much. Across the galaxy, on [[Velocitron]], [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]] and [[Earth]], familiar faces look up at the [[space bridge]]s in the sky, and at the images of the black hole menacingly hovering above them...

On Gigantion, there's activity all around the planet. In one location, Sideways thanks Soundwave for saving his bacon, and Soundwave reminds him that they have a purpose for being here... in another, the Decepticons buff up Galvatron's armor, before he orders them all to depart and search for the Cyber Planet Key... and in yet another, the team consisting of Optimus Prime, [[Vector Prime]], [[Metroplex (Cybertron)|Metroplex]], Bud and the Mini-Cons have come across a giant pile of scrap blocking the way. Bud and Jolt crawl through a small hole, and set off charges to let the larger bots in. Jolt checks the map-box strapped to his back, and they carry on... unaware that they're being followed by [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]]. The Autobots come across a big door, and Metroplex forces it open... revealing an entire city under a bright daylight sky. Optimus is befuddled, as they're supposed to be underground, but Metroplex and Jolt inform him it's all an illusion set up by the ceiling above. Jolt is about to check the map when he's snatched by Ransack and Crumplezone, who give themselves an overly-extended intro, then start leaping from rooftop to rooftop, playing hot potato with the Mini-Con, who can't fly with the map strapped to his back. Optimus and Vector give chase, but can't shoot out of fear of hitting Jolt, so Bud calls Coby in for help.

On the ''Ogygia'', Coby preps his Cobybot, and Quickmix gives him... something. Coby assures the Autobots he can handle those two "sprocket-heads" by himself, and hovers off at speed to back Optimus's team up, arriving just as the two Decepticons start shooting down chunks of the false sky. Coby makes a suitably dramatic entrance, transforming his mech (with the appropriate "''Cobybot, TRANSFORM!!!''" and stock-footage sequence, earning a thumbs-up from the Primes and Metroplex) and hurling a steel ball at the two Decepticons, which breaks open and sprays some stuff at their feet. The two 'Cons laugh it off, until they realize they're stuck, thanks to Quickmix's super-fast-drying cement. Optimus Prime approaches the two menacingly, demanding Jolt back, and Crumplezone tosses the Mini-Con over his shoulder, hoping to send Prime after him... but Jolt is caught by [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]], leaving Prime free to deal with the troublemakers. Metroplex then tosses Optimus the [[Sparkdrinker]], which stock-footages the two Decepticons far, far away.

After the brief battle, the team regroups, and Optimus thanks the backup team for coming along. He tells Coby he needs more 'bots like him on his team, which Bud takes his cue to again pester Coby to build ''him'' a robot suit.

*''Galaxy Force'' includes a "previously on" segment that summarizes the final seconds of "[[Fury]]".
*In ''Cybertron'', Coby makes a disappointed face upon his reunion with Bud because his brother doesn't think he's cool. In ''Galaxy Force'', the look is because Bud is not happy to see him, but rather, happy at the prospect of eating some real food other than the emergency rations he's been surviving on.
*In ''Galaxy Force'', Starscream is not powering up the ''Atlantis'''s guns, but instead setting the deck to explode.
*In ''Cybertron'', Hot Shot suggests picking a random tunnel, and his idea is shot down by Override. In ''Galaxy Force'', he is asking why they don't just use the crevice Galvatron tore in the previous episode, and Override points out that they just filled it with concrete. ===Animation or technical errors===
* When Bud and the Mini-Cons come to, Reverb's arm is in the shot, but he's missing the entire truck-bed/wheel portion of it.

* Jolt's propeller spins when he bows in thanks to Optimus. In order to do this, it clips through the tail-rudder sticking out of his butt. This is not by any means the only time this occurs in the series, but it is a rare instance of us actually getting to ''see'' it doing so.

* When Override transforms when the teams roll out, it honestly looks like she lands ''right on top'' of Lori.

* For being unable to move thanks to having his foot cemented to the floor, Ransack's supposedly-cemented foot sure does move a lot.

===Continuity errors===

* When discussing the Cobybot, Scattorshot is carrying the long blue rifle that comes with his toy. The error in question here is that it proceeds to vanish after this shot, but really, it's more notable that he's got it ''at all'', because this is one of a very small number of times that the rifle ever appears in the show when he's in robot mode, the first being in "[[Assault]]".

===Transformers references===

* Coby was seen re-engineering the Scrapmetal that became his "Cobybot" in "[[Warp]]". Though not explicitly stated, it's obvious that it was the secret cargo he was seen loading in the same episode, and which was referred to again in "[[Giant]]".
* Just as Hot Shot did back in "[[Family]]", Bud refers to Optimus Prime as "Big Bot", originally used by ''[[Beast Wars (franchise)|Beast Wars]]'' [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] as a nickname for [[Optimus Primal]].
* When the Cobybot first transforms to robot mode, it does so with the classic [[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]] transformation noise (and no stock footage, either!)
* Crumplezone references his rebirth in "[[Darkness (episode)|Darkness]]" while fixing up Galvatron.

===Real-world references===
* Sideways' squeak of "mother!" when Optimus fires his Key-enhanced blast recalls cartoon legend Daffy Duck, who would frequently squeak out "mother!" right before something horrible happened to him.

* Part of the Velocitron duo's extended intro involves the line "My name's Crumplezone, and this is my partner Ransack!". This is word-for-word (aside from names, of course!) the introduction comedian-magicians [[wikipedia:Penn_&_Teller|Penn & Teller]] use, with the big guy (Penn/Crumplezone) introducing the little guy (Teller/Ransack). The only difference is that Ransack joins in to say his name, while Teller is never seen to talk.

===Trivia===
* This is the first time we see any connection between Sideways and Soundwave, though right now there's still little explaining Sideways' ultimate motive...
* With this episode, Bud joins Coby and Lori in donning a new set of clothes. As before, ''Cybertron'' doesn't explain where the clothes come from, while ''Galaxy Force'' explained, back in "Family", that they had been packed by Lori's mother.
