'''Thrust''' was one of the first of [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]]'s [[Vehicon general|Vehicon generals]] to be created, and was the last one to stand against the [[Maximal|Maximals]]. Commander of the [[Motorcycle Drone|Motorcycle Drones]], he is a dark, cold, brooding type, and is absolutely devoted to Megatron's goals, even though he knows what it means in the end for him. He is almost completely fearless, says ''exactly'' what is on his mind (he had the lugnuts to tell Megatron just how dumb his plan of using Maximal sparks to power the other two Vehicon Generals was), and takes a delight in tormenting his foes both physically and psychologically.

Oddly, despite initial backstabbing, he grew to consider his fellow General [[Jetstorm (BM)|Jetstorm]] a friend, which developed into a white-hot hatred when Jetstorm was reverted into the Maximal [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]]. He refused to even call Silverbolt by his name, calling him "Jetstorm" and "traitor".

Thrust's personality and mind is in fact a shell program powered by the [[spark]] of the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] [[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]]. Despite this, Thrust has virtually no similarities to Waspinator, and the Predacon is ''very'' happy to be in the cool "biker-bot", even if only as a power source.

His [[Activation code|Command Code]] is "overdrive," although in one anomalous instance, he used the phrase "accelerate."

Thrust can be distinguished from his drones by his size and yellow markings.

Thrust was one of three Vehicons granted individual sparks by [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] in an effort to defeat the Maximals; Thrust was given the spark of Waspinator. {{storylink|Fires of the Past}} Waspinator was aware of Thrust's actions, and the brooding, sarky, badass personality was utter ''heaven'' for the bug! {{storylink|The Catalyst}}

Along with Tankor and Jetstorm, he pursued [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] and [[Rattrap]] when they attempted to recover information about what happened while they were offline, but failed to capture them. {{storylink|Fires of the Past}} After being chewed out by Megatron, the generals again attempted to apprehend the Maximals, but Thrust and Jetstorm decided to destroy each other to avoid having to share any rewards. While they were thus occupied, Tankor of all bots managed to capture the Maximals. Thrust and Jetstorm decided to put aside their differences in order to take out the big lug, but ended up getting [[slag (slang)|slagged]]. {{storylink|Mercenary Pursuits}}

Later, during a battle between the Maximals and Vehicons, Thrust saved the life of Blackarachnia, though quickly wondered why. The two wandered into a spark extraction facility, where a massive [[spark extractor]] attempted to extract their sparks. Thrust again saved Blackarachnia, and was in turn saved by her. Thrust began having flashbacks to the time when his spark was first extracted, but was interrupted by the sudden arrival of the other Maximals before he could remember anything. {{storylink|Revelations Part I: Discovery}}

After that, he and Jetstorm were attacked by Blackarachnia and Nightscream while Cheetor and Rattrap worked to reawaken Tankor's Maximal spark. Blackarachnia, convinced that Thrust was carrying [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt's]] spark, tried to help him remember their past, which resulted in Thrust having more flashbacks, this time to the time he spent on Earth. However, before he could remember his previous identity, Jetstorm attacked and accused him of betrayal. Thrust claimed he was just trying to stall Blackarachnia; Jetstorm, unconvinced, ordered Thrust to prove his loyalty to Megatron by extracting Blackarachnia's spark. He grudgingly agreed to this, but was interrupted by Nightscream. Unfortunately, Blackarachnia's spark was extracted anyway, by Jetstorm. {{storylink|Revelations Part II: Descent}} Thrust picked up Blackarachnia's body and pursued Jetstorm. After an altercation with Nightscream, who had recovered Blackarachnia's spark in the meantime, Thrust fled, leaving Blackarachnia to be re-ensparked by Nightscream. {{storylink|Revelations Part III: Apocalypse}}

After that, he was sent with Jetstorm and Tankor to apprehend Nightscream as part of an attempt to remove Megatron's organic components. Nightscream escaped and Thrust and Jetstorm pursued him, but were defeated by Nightscream's sonic scream. {{storylink|Survivor}} Shortly thereafter, while on a wild goose chase courtesy of Tankor, Thrust was exposed to [[organic goo]] courtesy of Blackarachnia, which caused him to revert to his Waspinator personality. After explaining how he returned to Cybertron, Waspinator was driven to rage when Blackarachnia spurned him. However, before he could cause any damage, he was zapped by a duplicate [[Key to Vector Sigma]], causing him to revert to his Thrust persona.

After this event, Thrust stopped trying to save Blackarachnia and she stopped trying to get him defect. No [[technorganic]] salvation for ''you'', Waspy! {{storylink|The Catalyst}}

Some time later, Optimus Primal used the [[Plasma energy|Plasma Energy Chamber]] against Megatron's Keys to Vector Sigma, apparently destroying them both, along with Tankor. {{storylink|End of the Line}} With the war apparently over, Thrust and Jetstorm were invited to join the Maximals, but they instead decided to strike out on their own. Thrust got hostile at the idea of Jetstorm getting reformatted, deciding he viewed the general as a friend and didn't want to lose him. {{storylink|Fallout}}. During this time, they were attacked by [[Noble|Savage]], an event which they initially blamed on the Maximals. They did temporarily team up with their old enemies against this new threat, but their insistence on attacking Savage and antagonising Noble earned them nothing more than a trashing. {{storylink|Savage Noble}} Thrust would go up against Savage once again when he and Jetstorm attempted to apprehend Nightscream. Savage, now free from Megatron's spark, gave Thrust a sound thrashing. He called out for Jetstorm, but unfortunately for him, Jetstorm had since been reformatted into Silverbolt, who pushed him over the edge of the cliff from which he was dangling. {{storylink|In Darkest Knight}} Thrust would subsequently reserve a special hatred for Silverbolt, seeing him as a traitor to the Vehicon cause.

Following the loss of Jetstorm, Megatron resurrected the [[Hate Plague]] and generated a variant which would apparently only affect [[technorganic]] life, and sicced it on the Maximals. Thrust led a group of Motorcycle Drones to eliminate them, but decided to conserve ammo by letting the Maximals destroy each other. However, the Maximals were able to overcome the effects of the virus and chased Thrust out. {{storylink|A Wolf in the Fold}}

After this, Thrust was apparently given command of the remaining Tank Drones and Sonic Jet Drones (even with the arrival of Obsidan and Strika, Thrust would have been the senior Vehicon General since he had served under Megatron for the longest amount of time). When a ship carrying a [[Botanica (BM)|strange plant being]] crashed on Cybertron, Megatron sent Thrust to recover it and its contents to avoid them falling into the hands of the Maximals. By judicious use of his drone army, Thrust was able to reach the ship first, but was knocked out by Optimus Primal before he could enter. He then chased the Maximals to the Oracle chamber, where Botanica had fled; upon reaching it, he deployed a huge number of Tank Drones to destroy both the Maximals and the trees, but they were all eliminated in one attack by the reformatted Botanica despite her not having a [[toy]].

Outnumbered, Thrust fled, telling Botanica she had made a big mistake. He complained to Megatron about the unfair situation, {{storylink|Home Soil}} prompting Megatron to resurrect [[Obsidian (BM)|Obsidian]] and [[Strika (BM)|Strika]]. Around this time, he apparently started reverting somewhat to Waspinator, as he was beaten up and damaged when he tried to stop the Maximals salvaging spare parts, by Obsidian when he tried to brief the new generals on the current situation, by Megatron when he attempted to rub Obsidian and Strika's faces in their recent failure to destroy the Maximals, {{storylink|Sparkwar Pt. I: The Strike}} by Savage when he led a force of Cycle Drones to pursue Optimus Primal and Nightscream to the ruins of [[Iacon (city-state)|Iacon]], {{storylink|Sparkwar Pt. II: The Search}} and by the force of gravity when the [[Grand Mal]] crashed into Cybertron's surface. {{storylink|Sparkwar Pt. III: The Siege}}

Following Megatron's depolarization, Thrust again wandered Cybertron aimlessly. He encountered Obsidian and Strika, who were considering joining forces with the Maximals. Thrust asked how they could be truly loyal to anybody if they were loyal to everybody, and drove off. His words gave the other generals pause, and when Rattrap repolarized Megatron, inspired them to return to the side of villainy. Thrust encountered them again soon enough and tried to take command, only for Megatron to berate him for being useless and announce the final stage of his plan. Obsidian, however, stated that it was Thrust who had made him and Strika realise their loyalties lay with Megatron. {{storylink|Spark of Darkness}}

In the final battle, Thrust led a force of Cycle drones against the Maximals. Despite accidentally destroying several of his own drones and being attacked by Strika due to Rattrap's latest gadget, he led a large force to the Grand Mal, just in time to see it crash to Cybertron. {{storylink|Endgame Pt. I: The Downward Spiral}} Thrust personally took on Silverbolt, taunting him by calling him 'Jetstorm', and when he and Blackarachnia went down, Thrust, Strika, and Obsidian penetrated the Grand Mal.

Inside, Cheetor activated the anti-gravity generators, blasting Obsidian and Strika into orbit. Thrust, however, managed to avoid the field and engaged Cheetor personally. The two grappled for a while and, just as it looked like Thrust would win, Cheetor grabbed a [[spark extractor]] and removed Thrust's spark. {{storylink|Endgame Pt. II: When Legends Fall}} When Cybertron was reformatted, Thrust's spark was stuck in the body of a regular-sized technorganic wasp with Thrust's head; this thing, calling itself Waspinator once again, lamented the fact that it could never gain power, glory, or anything it wanted as it was swatted away by Rattrap. Built from the same chassis and sharing many of the same specifications and subroutines, the two Autobots attended boot camp together. Wasp's pompous, smarmy personality leaves something to be desired, but he had a lot going for him as a soldier, being highly skilled in the use of his stingers and knowing just how to toe the line with the drill sergeant. In a better life, he might have been [[Cybertron Elite Guard]] commander material.

These days, though, Wasp is a broken bot, mentally unstable and on the run from the Autobots who have branded him a traitor. Wasp was a cadet in the same group as Bumblebee, [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], [[Ironhide (Animated)|Ironhide]] and [[Shockwave (Animated)|Longarm]]. Right away, Wasp took a dislike to Bumblebee, insulting him out of the blue as the yellow bot mused to himself about his future in the Elite Guard. He also dubbed Bulkhead a "[[Mudflap (slang)|mudflap]]", much to the amusement of his fellow cadets. The loud-mouthed drill sergeant [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Minor]] took an immediate liking to "Wasp", as he dubbed him due to being impressed with his accuracy with his stingers - it was Bumblebee "bumbling" in trying to compete with this that led to his own name being assigned. Wasp and Ironhide quickly became close friends, often competing in little tests of strength, usually involving Wasp hitting or stinging Ironhide while the latter was in armor mode.

After Bumblebee "bumbled" several more times, leading to many [[transform-up]]s for the whole group, Wasp and Ironhide decided to take matters into their own hands, unscrewing Bumblebee's lower legs and leaving them out of reach even before they dumped the rest of him in a locker.

Unbeknown to Wasp, however, the reason for Bumblebee's foul-ups was that he was trying to out a traitor in the group—and had pegged Wasp as the likely culprit after seeing him walk out of a hangar in which someone had contacted [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]. (Plus, let's face it, he was a complete jerk. And Decepticons are jerks, [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|right?]]) At Longarm's prompting, Bumblebee eventually found evidence incriminating Wasp as a spy. Wasp was stripped of his Autobot insignia and wheeled away, protesting his innocence and swearing revenge on Bumblebee.

Many years later, Wasp escaped from Autobot custody and apparently eluded the now-Sentinel Prime by jumping through a [[space bridge]]. What was left of Wasp hid beneath the bridge as Sentinel left, [[Waspinator|buzzing and twittering to himself]], still swearing revenge on "Bumblebot". In reality, however, the innocent bot—broken mentally by his years of imprisonment—had been set up with evidence planted by "Longarm", who had also arranged Wasp's "escape" to divert suspicion from himself. {{storylink|Autoboot Camp}}

Needless to say, when the truth was revealed to Bumblebee by his old "friend", Longarm Prime (aka the Decepticon Shockwave), he took it pretty hard. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part II|A Bridge Too Close, Part II}}

Wasp headed straight for the Autobots' base on Earth, with Sentinel Prime and [[Jazz (Animated)|Jazz]] in pursuit. Waiting until Bumblebee was left alone on monitor duty (and actually playing ''[[Ninja Gladiator]]'' instead), he struck during a power outage, knocking Bumblebee cold and switching color schemes, helmets and even speech synthesizers with his rival. When Bumblebee came to, the others had returned and had him prisoner, with the disguised Wasp at their side. Despite Bumblebee's muffled cries, the Autobots fell for Wasp's ruse, forcing Bumblebee to flee into the night. Wasp stayed behind as the others tracked Bumblebee down, allowing him to try beating Bumblebee's video game and to search through Bumblebee's personal files.

When the others returned, joined by Sentinel, Jazz, [[Jetfire (Animated)|Jetfire]] and [[Jetstorm (Animated)|Jetstorm]], Wasp was able to recount several of Bumblebee's adventures which were logged in his files to keep the Autobots confused as to which bot was which. Unfortunately for Wasp, [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] proposed the two battle against each other in in ''Ninja Gladiator'', so that Bumblebee's video game skills would be readily apparent and the traitor revealed. Before their video game could begin, Wasp panicked and attacked Bumblebee, holding him hostage so he could make his escape. Wasp left Bumblebee with one final indignity, turning off the [[electronic paint job]] he'd installed in Bee and stealing his helmet back... tricking Bulkhead into pummeling the real Bumblebee while Wasp fled. {{storylink|Where Is Thy Sting?}}

The Autobots continued to pursue an erratic Wasp, though for different reasons: Sentinel Prime was still commanding the Elite Guard to bring him in on suspicion of treason, while Optimus and Bumblebee just wanted to help him (or at least keep him from damaging himself and bystanders during his crazed flight). In the midst of a pursuit through the streets of Detroit, Bumblebee tried once again to convince Wasp that he was now known to be innocent and was set up by Longarm, but Wasp refused to listen. During the chase, Wasp was suddenly abducted by [[Swoop (Animated)|Swoop]], who carried him to [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]].

Wasp soon found himself in [[Meltdown (Animated)|Meltdown]]'s old underground lab going ga-ga over [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]]. The spiderbot used her feminine wiles and familiar-sounding sob stories of Autobot betrayal to win Wasp's trust, and she convinced him to undergo an organic power augmentation procedure by impressing him with the ferocity of her own beast mode (while shielding him from seeing the disfigured mutant corpses left behind from her prior experiments). Wasp entered one [[transwarp]] chamber, a real organic wasp was put into another, and out came... Waspinator, three times larger than before, with more powerful energy "stings" and a deeper, heavily processed, voice.

When he was finally tracked down by Bumblebee, who apologized to him, he decided that while "Wasp" forgave his former accuser, "Waspinator" preferred violent revenge. But before Waspinator could deliver the final blow, he overheard Blackarachnia admitting to the Autobots that she only viewed her new "friend" as another experimental attempt to cure her own organic infection. Irate at yet another betrayal, Waspinator started attacking everybody—and if that wasn't scary enough, his transwarp energy became unstable. Just as Waspinator reached critical mass, Blackarachnia sealed them both within a cocoon of her energy webbing, containing the explosion of transwarp energy.

While only a crater was left on Dinobot Island, Waspinator and Blackarachnia were teleported by the transwarp energy to an unknown jungle. Although reduced to pieces by the explosion, Waspinator was still functional, and slowly began putting himself back together. After all, he couldn't go offline yet... because "Wazzzpinator hazz planzzz!" {{storylink|Predacons Rising}}

: "Fugitive Waspinator", apparently named such because of [[Trademark]] issues with the name "Wasp", represents Wasp before he became a freak mutant. He is a simple [[redeco]] of [[Bumblebee (Animated)#Deluxe|Deluxe class Bumblebee]], transforming into a green sub-compact hatchback. The two halves of his stinger weapon, stored in his forearms, can be flipped out and pegged together (presumably, this mold uses the corrected version that allows them to fully retract into his forearms). In both robot and car mode, his two booster rockets can be attached on his back. In addition, although not shown in the cartoon, both Waspinator's windows and headlights are tinted purple in order to give him a more Beast Wars-like appearance while retaining his original vehicle form.

: Fugitive Waspinator is a Decepticon. At the point in the cartoon when Wasp had this alternate mode he was actually unaligned.
