'''Starscream''' plans to take control of the Decepticons, mostly because he thinks he's the best thing ever and much better at being evil than [[Megatron (Kre-O)|Megatron]]. With the help of his well-thumbed copy of ''[[I'm My Own Me: How to Command Confidently]]'', he might someday achieve his aim. In the meantime, he spends his time building castles out of bricks with his friend [[Starwheeze]], and also bowling. Every future despot has to have a hobby, after all.
After [[Optimus Prime (Kre-O)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Bumblebee (Kre-O)|Bumblebee]] managed to best [[Megatron (Kre-O)|Megatron]], the Decepticon leader tagged in Starscream. {{storylink|Last Bot Standing}} Starscream entered a dance competition, where his quiet, peaceful interpretive performance was roundly booed by the audience. He finished his piece by falling over and disintegrating. The judges ([[Megatron (Kre-O)|Megatron]], [[Shockwave (Kre-O)|Shockwave]] and [[Thundercracker (Kre-O)|Thundercracker]]) nonetheless gave him ludicrously high marks. Score one for nepotism. (Decepotism?) {{storylink|Bot Stars}}

Starscream and his pilot pulled up beside Bumblebee, just after the Autobot had finished impressing another driver with his moves. {{storylink|My Ride Is Better than Your Ride}} When Megatron took part in a race, Starscream attempted to aid his leader by dropping a boulder onto Bumblebee. Unfortunately, the boulder hit Megaton instead. {{storylink|The Big Race}} During the holiday season, Starscream was unwrapping his presents when Optimus Prime and [[Sideswipe (Kre-O)|Sideswipe]] looked ominously in through the window. {{storylink|A Gift For Megatron}}
'''A mismatched group of Decepticons find themselves in the crosshairs of the deadliest team of killers there is... the Decepticon Justice Division!'''

==Synopsis==

As a [[infiltration protocol|phase sixer]], [[Black Shadow (Victory)|Black Shadow]] is one of the most feared Decepticons, having tackled the [[Wrecker]]s single-handedly, defeated the entire [[113th Battalion]], and massacred the population of [[Rigel IV]]. But when he accepted a bribe to blow up a fleet of [[Warworld|War Worlds]], he landed himself in the sights of the [[Decepticon Justice Division]], a team of vicious killers fanatically dedicated to [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] and charged with destroying all who cross him. It's not a pretty sight when the DJD catch up to Black Shadow: melted by [[Helex (DJD)|Helex]], crushed by [[Tesarus (DJD)|Tesarus]] and electrocuted by [[Kaon (DJD)|Kaon]], he is explosively finished off when DJD leader [[Tarn (DJD)|Tarn]] uses his ability of "weaponized conversation" to stop the pulse of his [[spark]]. Their task done, the DJD set off to find their next target on the planet of [[Clemency]]—a target guilty of simply living.

On the ''[[Lost Light]]'', [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], [[First Aid (G1)|First Aid]] and [[Ambulon]] combine their medical expertise to save the life of the wounded [[Rung]], though the psychiatrist remains comatose. A few hours later, [[Red Alert (G1)|Red Alert]] visits Rung in secrecy, believing—in his increasing paranoia—that the attempt on Rung's life was a deliberate one after Red told him about the voice he heard from beneath the ship. Certain that he is next, Red hides a [[data slug]] containing video he has taken of the voice's owner—[[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]]—on Rung's body and bids him goodbye. But a medical [[Diagnostic Drone]] has observed the entire thing, and soon, a shadowed figure arrives in the medibay and recovers the slug...

On Clemency, a band of [[Decepticon]] scavengers consisting of [[Misfire]], [[Spinister (G1)|Spinister]], [[Krok (G1)|Krok]], [[Crankcase (G1)|Crankcase]] and [[Flywheels]] are in the process of draining fuel from the vast array of Transformer corpses that litter the war-torn world when one of them, a chipper fellow named [[Fulcrum]], proves to be still alive. After a slight panic over the possibility that he might be a [[zombie]], the six 'cons settle down around a fire to talk about the great battle in Clemency's past, and the grim reality of war and how it reduces lives to statistics. Fulcrum is shocked to discover that the war is ''over'', barely able to comprehend such a thing, and the other Decepticons mumble about how meaningless it all turned out to be and how unclear their goals had been anyway. In spite of this, though, when one of the Autobot bodies stoking the Decepticons' fire proves to still be alive, Krok casually kills the poor 'bot.

Back on the ''Lost Light'', [[Chromedome (G1)|Chromedome]] visits [[Brainstorm]] in his lab to get the scientist's analysis of [[Skids (G1)|Skids]]'s mysterious gun, which Chromedome palmed from the theoretician when he was distracted. The weapon immediately blew up when Brainstorm tried to examine it, but he was able to recognise at least some of the engineering, and has concluded that as impossible as it may seem, the gun may have come from somewhere known as "The Institute"...

As dawn breaks on Clemency, the Decepticons resume their scavenging, only for Misfire to suddenly break away from the group, thinking that he has spotted the [[Necrobot]], a mythical Grim Reaper-like figure in Cybertronian culture. Instead, what he has discovered is a P-6 [[Worldsweeper]], a famous model of gigantic Decepticon spaceship cast in the image of the faction's [[insignia]]. Investigating the vessel, the Decepticons make some horrifyingly strange discoveries: a ceiling covered entirely in [[brain module]]s, tanks of warped, malformed [[protoform]]s, a non-functional robot made entirely of wood, and a corridor composed of organic flesh that proves to have been responsible for causing the ship to crash, having ''bled'' into the fuel supply and polluted it. Misfire in particular is aghast and advocates immediate departure, but Fulcrum, coming around to the idea of new horizons, is eager to investigate. All emotions on the ship quickly turn to terror, however, when Krok receives a communication from the DJD, announcing that one of their number is on the Division's list. Tarn signs off with the promise that if the guilty party is handed over, the other six will be allowed to watch. The numbers don't add up, and Fulcrum assumes the DJD simply miscounted their life-signs... but Krok soon discovers that there is indeed a seventh party on the ship, unconscious and sealed in a stasis tube... [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]]!

'''Fulcrum:''' "Ah! Now! Just—just wait a second! Just— The thing about me—my big thing is this: I'm really not keen on '''dying'''. Now '''survival'''—oh wow, '''huge''' fan. Put me down for some of '''that'''. Besides, we don't even know each other! You might '''like''' me! You might find me—disarming! Yes! I'd '''disarm''' you!"<br>
'''Spinister:''' "You'd '''what''' me?"<br>
'''Flywheels:''' "Careful—he's using words to confuse and frighten us."

"'''Go away.''' I'm busier than you've ever been and I'm doing more important things than you've ever done."<br>
"It's Chromedome."<br>
"So?"<br>
"So you have to be '''nice''' to me, I'm your only friend. Why are you—?"<br>
"Building weapons whilst hanging from the ceiling? Because no one else can. I was hoping '''Perceptor''' would walk in."
:—'''Brainstorm''' and '''Chromedome'''

"Chromedome, you're looking at is a bona fide '''Binary Gun.'''"<br>
"What's a Binary Gun?"<br>
"I'm not sure—I've only just made up the name. But I called it that because inside there's only room for two cartridges, '''here''' and '''here.'''"<br>
"So what does it '''do?''' Where'd Skids get it? Why'd he carry it around with him all the time?"<br>
"I don't know! I've done my bit...!"<br>
"You made the gun '''blow up''' and then you '''gave it a name!''' I could have done that '''and''' I'd have come up with a better name!"
:—'''Brainstorm''' and '''Chromedome''' again

"But there's '''always''' been a war! That's like saying there's no more '''blue''' or—or the '''weather's''' stopped!"
:—'''Fulcrum''' catches up on recent history

"I always dreamed of captaining my own P-6—Followin' the likes of [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] and [[Sixshot]] and the other big guns. I'd have called it something '''noble''' and '''majestic''', like '''''Mega Starpuncher''''' or '''''Mighty Spaceship'''''."
:—'''Crankcase'''

"You know, there are some Decepticons who, upon finding themselves in a skin-covered room surrounded by '''aborted protoforms''' and '''mechanoids made of bark,''' would rub their hands together, marvel at the universe's infinite capacity for surprise and '''dive right in.''' I am not one of those Decepticons. I say we run away screaming."<br>
"I '''am''' one of those Decepticons, Misfire, and I say we stick around—because frankly, this is amazing."<br>
"What's amazing?"<br>
"This! Us! Now! Who owns this ship? Where are they now? Where will '''we''' be an '''hour''' from now, or '''tomorrow''', or '''next month?''' The answer to '''all''' those questions is '''"Who knows?"''' And that's a '''great answer!''' That's the '''best answer ever!''' All our lives we've followed orders—all our lives someone else has always told us what to do next! Well, not anymore! For the first time in '''forever,''' we can do whatever we like! We're '''free!'''"
*The 113th Battalion is another use of the number 113 by James Roberts, referring to the [[Wanted: Galvatron — Dead or Alive!|issue of the UK comic]] that got him hooked on the series. On the same page, Black Shadow is seen battling the '''11'''th iteration of the Wreckers, with '''3''' kills.
*Whilst [[Rigel III|other]] [[Rigel 6|planets]] that orbit [[Rigel|the same star]] have shown up in Transformers fiction before, this issue is the first mention of Rigel IV. It's also known as being [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kang_and_Kodos the home of a pair of pesky space aliens] from ''The Simpsons''.
*Black Shadow's bribe is in [[Shanix]], a little-referenced Cybertronian currency that first appeared in issue #113 of the Marvel UK series. It's seen some previous mentions in IDW continuity in [[Chaos Theory Part 1|"Chaos Theory", Part 1]] and "[[Stick Together]]".
*The Warworld was the Decepticon mothership in the Marvel ''[[Transformers: Generation 2 (Marvel)|Generation 2]]'' comic. The idea of a fleet of multiple Warworlds originated with the non-canon ''[[Alignment]]''.
*The Decepticon Justice Division were first mentioned in one of Roberts's earliest IDW works, [[Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 1|''Last Stand of the Wreckers'' #1]], and have come up on occasion since then. They are named after cities on Cybertron; specifically, the "[[Fall of the First Five Cities|First Five Cities]]" to fall to the Decepticons in the war, which were listed in [[Life After the Big Bang|issue #4]].
*Helex has a [[Turbofox]] on a leash.
*Vos's dialogue, referred to as the "[[Primal Vernacular]]", is written using the [[Cyberglyphics]] symbol language from the [[movie continuity|live-action movie continuity]]. Employing the substitution cypher regularly used by [[Titan Books|Titan]] in their [[Transformers (Titan Magazine)|UK Transformers comic]] shows that most of his speech bubbles are nonsense, however, save for the first, which reads: "So tired me go night xth".
*This is not the first time Roberts has written a character has having been "talked to death", though this version is a lot more literal than the reference made in ''[[Bullets]]'' to [[Violator|a Decepticon]] who killed himself rather than listen to [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]] drone on!
*[[Kol]] was first seen in [[Swarm (issue)|''Generation 2'' #9]], where it was a planet. It became the name of a system in [[Stormbringer issue 2|''Stormbringer'' #2]] with the introduction of [[Varas Centralus]], which is located there.
*That Flywheels should freak out so seriously at the prospect of a [[zombie]] is fitting, given his prominent role in the greatest Transformers zombie story, Marvel UK's "[[City of Fear!]]" (indeed, his only prominent role in anything before now).
*A device or creature looking like a horseshoe crab can be seen in a cannister on Brainstorm's desk, which might be supposed to be a small version of the [[Madmachine]] from the ''[[Transformers: The Headmasters (cartoon)|Headmasters]]'' episode, "[[The Great Cassette Operation]]".
*[[Hydrus Four|Hydrus 4]] is the planet of origin for [[Nucleon]], seen in the original Marvel series. Its sister world [[Hydrus 5]] was created by James Roberts and first mentioned in "[[Bullets]]".
*Chromedome palmed Skids's gun between pages 4 and 5 of [[Life After the Big Bang|issue 4]].
*The planet [[Elpasos]] is mentioned in passing, a world that debut in—you guessed it, issue #113 of the Marvel UK series. It got a previous IDW mention in [[Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 5|''Last Stand of the Wreckers'' #5]].
*Reference is made to "Nova Peak", which is prrrrrobably the same thing as [[Nova Point]].
*Grimlock was last seen at the close of the ''[[The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots|Maximum Dinobots]]'' mini-series, over three years before the publication of this issue. Since then, all we've heard is that he had left [[Garrus-9]] after it was sacked by the Decepticons under unrevealed circumstances, as detailed in [[Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 4|''Last Stand of the Wreckers'' #4]].
*Roberts had previously created a Decepticon named Fulcrum in his fan-published ''Transformers: Eugenesis'' novel. Whether these are meant to be iterations of the same character (as was the case with Rung) or just a name reuse is unclear.
* Amusingly, to go by the original tech spec numbers, Krok is actually the lowest ranking Decepticon of his group. But since when was fiction accurate to the tech specs?

===Errors===
*"Halt" is misspelled "hault" on page 3.
*Spinister was previously shown to be among the Decepticons who had already returned to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] in ''[[The Transformers: Robots in Disguise|Robots in Disguise]]'' [[The Autonomy Lesson|#1]]. Quick, someone [[Bluster|make up]] [[Firster Aid|a name]]!
*Spinister's name is misspelled as "Spinisther" during the search of the Symbol Ship.
*Krok spends most of the issue in a new set of colors, only appearing in his toy's colors in one panel on page 20.

===Crew Manifest===
*The "Story so far" segment on the inside front cover notes that "a number of [[Delphi]]'s patients" were brought to the ''Lost Light'', which is the first mention that anyone other than [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]] came back with Ratchet and the medics.

'''Starscream prepares to do whatever it takes to convince Galvatron the threat of Unicron is real.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Image:Starsmack.jpg|left|200px|thumb|Galvatron blasts Starscream with his rarely seen armpit-laser.]]
[[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] pleads to [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]], hoping to convince his leader that the threat of [[Unicron]] is real (as Starscream has first hand experience in the beast's bowels) and that perhaps an alliance between the [[Autobot]]s and [[Decepticon]]s is the safest course to ensure the survival of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. When Starscream refuses to stop pleading, Galvatron slaps his subordinate into a wall to silence him. The Decepticon leader is confident his military can overcome both the Autobots and Unicron. Starscream continues to stress the danger of Unicron, and Galvatron starts to swing his [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]].

[[Image:Cramp-Starscreamdies.jpg|right|200px|thumb|[[Code of Hero|The rest is... silence]]. Well, [[Transformers: Energon (cartoon)|not really]], but don't you kinda wish it was?]]
The Autobots are still optimistic, believing there's a chance a diplomatic conference could lead to a truce between the two sides. Which means the Autobots can't take aggressive action against the Decepticons, only defensive. Galvatron, armed with the Star Saber and [[Tidal Wave (Armada)|Tidal Wave]], flies into battle, ready to negotiate with [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] using firepower. Prime responds by combining with [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] and [[Overload (Armada)|Overload]] and heading away from the thick of the battle.

By a [[Megatron statue|monolithic statue of Megatron]], Starscream wonders who is he is and what he needs to do. [[Alexis Thi Dang|Alexis]]'s words of encouragement run through his head.

Away from the armies, Galvatron and Optimus Prime send their men away, leaving the two leaders to battle one on one. Through the battle, Galvatron admits that he still considers Unicron to be an Autobot hoax, and with the Star Saber, he has the upper hand against Prime. As soon as Megatron breaks Prime's metal, an explosion disturbs the showdown. Starscream walks from the smoke.

The rest of the Autobots are struggling to hold their ground, unable to cause any real damage to the Decepticons. Alexis has faith that things will be okay. Thousands of miles away, Unicron's lunar shell peels off and the behemoth attacks the assembled Mini-Con cluster.

[[Image:Cramp-Swindleejects.jpg|left|175px|thumb]]
Starscream quits the Decepticons and challenges Galvatron to one-on-one combat. The two clash, quickly cutting into each other. Starscream displays a show of skill beyond the last time he battled Megatron. Lightning from Unicron carves into the landscape, but the two warriors ignore the weather and continue their struggle. But in an instant, the Star Saber plunges into Starscream's torso, and the impaled Decepticon falls.

Lying with the blade sticking out of him, Starscream speaks earnestly to Galvatron, pointing out that it was Megatron's own arrogance that drove the situation to be what it is. Despite his injury, Starscream stands up and reiterates his wishes for a truce between the two Cybertronian factions against Unicron. His final wish said, Starscream joins with his [[Mini-Con]] to fire his Proton cannons upwards at Unicron. Unicron fires back, disintegrating Starscream, much to both Galvatron and Optimus's shock.

[[Image:Cramp-AlexismournsStarscream.jpg|left|175px|thumb|I never got to tell Starscream that I loved him!]]

Realizing that Starscream was right about the threat of Unicron, Galvatron remembers all the experiences he had with him, and finally decides to join forces with Optimus Prime. He starts off by offering the Star Saber to Optimus.... BUT from the crater Starscream died in, a dark cloud emerges and grabs the Star Saber! The cloud forms into [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]], who escapes the two leaders and escapes through the underground portal, making sure to collapse them so he can't be followed. Upon witnessing Sideways's escape, Optimus and Galvatron fear for the worst to come.

Aboard the ''[[Axalon (Armada)|Axalon]]'', Alexis's [[Good Luck Necklace|luck charm]] breaks, and she runs outside to look out the window just to see Starscream's laser blast fade away. Hearing news of Starscream's death over the video screen, the kids become sad, most notably Alexis, who begins crying. She runs out of the room and slams her fist on the window that displays Unicron, in grief. When [[Rad White|Rad]] appears behind her, she smacks his shoulders with her hands, asking why Starscream would do that. Rad does his best to try and console her.
==Quotes==
"How long have we been adversaries, Optimus? It seems like since the beginning of time. And I suppose I do have a certain respect for you but I digress, you might have fooled Starscream with your little Truce ploy, but I am nobody's fool. Now let's end this charade, shall we?"
:—'''Galvatron''' faces off against Optimus Prime in the 'negotiations'.

"May I suggest that you have lost your mind?!"
:—'''Galvatron''' to Starscream, who has just challenged him to a duel.

[[Image:Cramp-Galvatronregrets.jpg|right|250px|thumb|You'll miss me when I'm gone!]]
"I tried to gain favour from you. But nothing was ever good enough. No matter how many battles I fought, you always found fault. Then I saw how Optimus treated his men, and I realized he was a leader of integrity. Unlike you."<br>
"You were too weak to ever gain my respect."<br>
"None of that matters now. You must listen — do as Optimus says and join forces with the Autobots, or else every last one of us is doomed! Please sir... do it for me..."
==Notes==
===Differences with ''Micron Legend''===
[[Image:Cramp - no ML title card.JPG|right|thumb|250px|Foreshadowing? Why, no!]]
* In earlier episodes of ''Micron Densetsu'', the title card usually shows up with Optimus against a white background. In this episode, there's no title card. Instead, the title shows up over Starscream.
* Just before Galvatron impales Starscream, the animation is tweaked to make it clear the latter "switched off" his sword, having no intention of blocking the fatal blow. The two of them don't exchange any jibes here, they just say each-other's names and Galvatron kneels, realizing what Starscream has done.
* The dialogue after this was also somewhat altered in the dub. Instead of talking about how he unsuccessfully sought to gain favor from his leader, Starscream tells Galvatron that he considers him the ultimate warrior and could never hope to defeat him. The voiceover during the montage at the end is mostly a flashback to Starscream yammering about wanting a Mini-Con and telling Galvatron that he'll defeat him.

===Animation and technical errors===
* In the first scene of the episode, Demolishor has four fingers and one thumb on each hand.
* When Hoist warns Blurr not to fire upon the Decepticons except in self-defense, Blurr's entire gun is colored one solid shade of orange.
* Jetfire shoots Tidal Wave in the eye...with the back of his rifle?
* Wheeljack says, "What's happening?" in Demolishor's voice.

===Transformers references===
* Starscream's death by crumbling into a pile of debris is very similar to the death scene of ''Generation 1'' [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream's]] in ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]''.

===Real-world references===
* Fred's "The horror!" line is from ''[[Wikipedia:Heart of Darkness|Heart of Darkness]]'', the novel adapted into the film ''[[Wikipedia:Apocalypse Now|Apocalypse Now]]''.

* Galvatron gives Starscream one last chance not to fight, and when Starscream declines, Galvatron's, "Is that your final answer?" line might be a reference to ''[[Wikipedia:Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"|Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?]]''.

===Foreign localization===
'''German'''
:*''Title:'' "'''Das Friedensangebot'''" ("Peace-Offering")
:*''Original airdate:'' [[January 12|12 January]] [[2004]]

===Trivia===
* The English-language version of "Cramp" first aired in the United Kingdom on the [[Wikipedia:Sky1|Sky One]] channel, at the time the network was running a round-the-clock promotion of American magician/"endurance artist" [[Wikipedia:David Blaine|David Blaine]]'s controversial London stunt, complete with an obnoxious '''DAVID BLAINE''' on-screen overlay. It aired in the United States on [[December 8]], 2003.
* Optimus calls Starscream's Mini-Con Swindle instead of Zapmaster. So logically, this means that Swindle received a color-change like Starscream did (instead of Starscream exchanging his Mini-Con for a new one in different colors).
* Starscream's photon cannon blasts don't even make it all the way up to Unicron. You can see them dissipate before Alexis's eyes before they reach him. Most heart-wrenching suicide ever?
*The Star Saber is significantly weaker than usual in this episode. Optimus Prime blocked it with his hands and Starscream blocked it with his sword.
*Similarly, Tidal Wave is also significantly smaller and weaker than previously depicted. Jetfire, shown not much smaller than Tidal Wave, in a single movement, shoulder-blocks and lifts off with him.
:''Cyclonus is a [[Decepticon]] from the [[Unicron Trilogy]] [[continuity family]].''
[[Image:Cyclonus-AR-DVD.jpg|right|400px|thumb|"Morale? We've never had morale around here!"]]
Cautious. Reliable. Uneager. These are not words to describe '''Cyclonus'''. He is one wild and craaaaaaazy guy. Seriously, he's the guy in the group that even the other Cons think is a little unbalanced. His usual battle tactic is to rush straight in with every piece of artillery he has blazing, all while laughing maniacally. Other times, he yodels while rushing straight in with every piece of artillery he has blazing.

He loves combat, and isn't particularly picky about which side he's on, so long as he gets to shoot things. He's not especially bright, but [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] knows the value of a soldier largely without fear.

He is oftentimes partnered with the [[Mini-Con]] [[Crumplezone (Armada)|Crumplezone]], whose optics were opened up to just how much ''fun'' lunatic charges can be. The two get along amazingly well, both having an undying love for the sheer excitement of blowing stuff up real good.

Cyclonus takes the name '''Snow Cat''' after receiving a new body.

When [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] turned an energon-draining device on [[Cyber City]], Cyclonus and Crumplezone guarded it against Autobot intervention. The duo powerlinked and threatened [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] with a super-cannon when he arrived to foil their plans. Hot Shot's partner [[Jolt (Armada)|Jolt]] arrived, however, giving him super-speed and driving claws to outmaneuver the Decepticons. Cyclonus and Crumplezone were caught in an explosion when Hot Shot dumped the Decepticon device in a ravine. {{storylink|Armada Volume 1}}
Somehow, Megatron was able to ambush [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]], and forced him to battle Snow Cat, [[Demolishor (Armada)|Demolishor]], [[Tidal Wave (Armada)|Mirage]] and [[Shockblast]] without back-up. Luckily for Prime, [[Wing Saber (Energon)|Wing Saber]] arrived with a new Powerlinx mode for the two of them, enabling Prime to annihilate Snow Cat and the other Decepticons with heavy firepower. {{storylink|Energon Volume 4}}

Cyclonus is a wild soldier under [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]]'s command. He is closely partnered with his comrade [[Demolishor (Armada)|Demolishor]], with whom he sometimes shares a love/hate relationship. He is known for having a maniacal personality and will often fire at targets frantically, risking damage to his own teammates. He has a quirky and sarcastic personality, often leading to harsh punishment by his commander. For some unknown reason, Cyclonus had the habit of falling asleep at random intervals during downtime after battles. He could be the first recorded case of a narcoleptic Decepticon (although not [[Galvatron (BWII)|the first narcoleptic]] in ''Transformers'' full-stop).

Cyclonus served Megatron throughout [[The Unicron Battles]], and was a key player in the united Armada against the [[Unicron|chaos-bringer]]. His alternate form is a helicopter, and he often took pleasure in tormenting the three kids under [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime's]] protection. He joined the Autobot unit after the demise of Megatron, though with reservations.

Cyclonus returned as the guardian of the [[Cybertron City (city)|Cybertron City]] [[Lunar City|based on the moon]]. Although he served in his role dutifully, he was yearning for the days of combat. Not long after the attacks on Mars and Asteroid City, the moon would also be attacked, a battle through which Cyclonus would hold up a small resistance before he was presumed destroyed. As [[Demolishor (Armada)|Demolishor]] prepared for more [[Terrorcon (Energon)|Terrorcon]] assaults on Earth, Cyclonus surfaced, having tucked tail and ran, abandoning the Cybertron City on the moon to be looted of its [[Energon]]. Cyclonus assisted Demolishor and the Autobots until [[Tidal Wave (Armada)|Tidal Wave]] showed up wielding [[Megatron's Sword]], a blade forged by [[Alpha Quintesson]] from the Spark of Megatron. Believing that it was proof of Megatron, Cyclonus abandoned the Autobots and Demolishor, joining Alpha Quintesson's forces.

Cyclonus would once again serve Megatron when the commander was revived within Unicron for some time, before sustaining damages from an [[Autobot]] assault while retreating. Having failed to topple the [[energon tower]]s, Cyclonus returned injured to his commander, begging for repairs. In a rage, Megatron bound Cyclonus to the wall using [[Unicron]]'s internal tentacles as punishment. Cyclonus was then fused with Unicron's essence in a painful manner and upgraded into '''Snow Cat''', who then took up yodeling, and skiing. {{storylink|Kicker Beware!}} During [[The Powerlinx Battles]] Snow Cat and Demolishor had to deal with a gigantic [[Insecticon (Energon)|Insecticon]], who was mutated by the [[Super Energon]].
===Dreamwave comics continuity===
====''Armada'' comic====
Before the war with the Autobots began, Cyclonus was part of [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]]'s inner circle. He and [[Demolishor (Armada)|Demolishor]] attacked [[Mini-Con Sector|Mini-Con Village C52]], capturing most of its population after getting past its [[Filtrek|forceshield]] by simply attacking from underground. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 1|Armada #1}} After picking C52 resident [[Crumplezone (Armada)|Crumplezone]] as his personal slave, Cyclonus participated in the Decepticon assault on [[Cyber City]]. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 2|Armada #2}}

One million years later, Cyclonus was present when the Decepticons learned that the Mini-Cons who had fled from Cybertron during the war had ended up on [[Earth]]. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 3|Armada #3}} He, Demolishor and [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] traveled to the alien planet via [[space bridge]] and assaulted a military base for new [[alternate mode]]s. After complaining about the humans' stench and taking out their communications systems, Cyclonus scanned a helicopter and joined Megatron for some Mini-Con hunting. He found out the hard way that the Autobots had also come to Earth when [[Scavenger (Armada)|Scavenger]] caved his cockpit in. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 4|Armada #4}} Cyclonus and the others fought a short battle with the Autobots, but were forced to retreat when their enemies got some Mini-Cons of their own. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 5|Armada #5}}

Cyclonus later helped capture the [[Air Defense Mini-Con Team (Armada)|Air Defense Mini-Con Team]], which led to Megatron getting his hands on the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]]. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 6|Armada #6}} Using this mighty weapon, the Decepticons attacked the Autobots' headquarters. Cyclonus overheard Starscream complaining that Megatron didn't even need his loyal troops now that he had the power of the Star Saber, and told him to stop being so whiny: they were Megatron's eyes and ears, and he would never forget about them! He then fought with the Autobots, lost, and retreated in short order. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 7|Armada #7}} Some time later at the Decepticons' [[Silver Ridge]] base, Cyclonus went to put the Mini-Cons <s>to bed</s> back in their cells, but found that the little 'bots had run away. When he tried to recall them, he found that they had tampered with the base's internal defenses, turning them against him. Cyclonus, who had forgotten the emergency override code, was promptly imprisoned in the base and blasted by laser turrets. Luckily, the lasers were only set to harm Mini-Cons, so he wasn't too injured to participate in the hunt for the escaped Mini-Cons. The Decepticons followed their Mini-Cons to a [[Mini-Con Ark|structure]] in [[Kansas]], but failed to stop them from entering it and blasting off into space. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 8|Armada #8}}

The Decepticons found that the Mini-Cons had traveled to the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], and soon followed them there. The flying Decepticons and Megatron attacked the [[Mini-Con Moonbase]], but were driven off by its automated defenses. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 9|Armada #9}} Cyclonus doubted that the moonbase had any weaknesses at all, but Megatron scoffed at this and fought his way into it using a [[Mini-Con Moonbase breacher|really big drill]]. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 10|Armada #10}} With help from [[Leader-1 (Armada)|Leader-1]], he took control of the base's defenses and ordered Cyclonus to renew his assault... only for Leader-1 to betray the Decepticons and reactivate the defenses. After retreating again, Cyclonus decided to pick a fight with a newly arrived Autobot shuttle instead, but this turned out to be a poor decision as the ship heavily outgunned him. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 11|Armada #11}}

Megatron eventually wrecked the moonbase and captured the [[Destruction Mini-Con Team]] who had built it. However, the Mini-Con trio proved capable of overloading anyone who [[powerlinx]]ed with them, so rather than using them himself, Megatron decided that Cyclonus had volunteered to try them out. He was sent to help [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]] retrieve some Mini-Cons in [[Alaska]], but shortly after he took out the [[Adventure Mini-Con Team]], the Destruction Team indeed overloaded him. Driven mad with power, Cyclonus attacked Thrust in a berserker rage. {{storylink|Fire & Ice}} The Destruction Team's power allowed him to easily defeat his Decepticon comrade, and he even outmatched an entire team of Autobots which arrived shortly afterward. He was eventually knocked out by [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]], powered up with every ounce of [[Sparkplug (Armada)|Sparkplug]]'s energy. {{storylink|Dreamwave Armada issue 13|Armada #13}} The heavily damaged Cyclonus was eventually retrieved and placed in a repair tank in the Decepticon base. {{storylink|Worlds Collide, Part 1 of 4}}

After recovering, Cyclonus participated in an all-out ssault on the Autobots, who had lost Optimus Prime. The attack went well, up until a [[Galvatron (G1)|powerful stranger]] arrived on the scene and effortlessly took out all the Decepticons other than Megatron. {{storylink|Worlds Collide, Part 2 of 4}} When the threat of [[Unicron]] reared its ugly head, the Decepticons had no choice but join forces with the Autobots. Cyclonus released the Decepticon-held Mini-Cons back into the wild, then returned to Cybertron to do battle with Unicron. {{storylink|The End}}

====''Energon'' comic====
Ten years after the destruction of Unicron, Cyclonus was spotted in [[Cyber City]], oddly not blowing anything up. {{storylink|This Evil Reborn}}

Later, Snow Cat was located in a [[Abyss|small town]] in the Yukon, under the command of [[Scorponok (Energon)|Scorponok]] busy sabotaging [[Base Unit 1]] to that the [[Energon]] it'd produce would come to feed Unicron. He also captured the [[Omnicon|Omnicons]] and rigged them to a machine that would brainwash them into obedience to him and [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]]. However, the Omnicons learned the value of teamwork thanks to the shared-hallucination-induced disembodied advice-giving head of [[Over-Run (Armada)|Over-Run]], broke free, and totally kicked his ass. {{storylink|Omni-Potent}}

Much later, Snow Cat was one of several Decepticons who attempted to "sneak" into [[Ocean City]] and steal the data for the Autobots' [[Omega Supreme (Energon)|Omega Supreme prototype]]. He rushed into the dark hangar, smacked into a scaffolding like a big dumb doof, and was chased out by security. Megatron didn't buy Snow Cat's recounting of how his daring and skill was thwarted by a "sub sea earthquake" for one second. {{storylink|Perspective}}

{{note|Due to the bankruptcy of [[Dreamwave Productions]], it has not been confirmed if Cyclonus and Snow Cat are one and the same in this reality. If Snow Cat was indeed a reformatted Cyclonus, then it is likely that he was taken during the Four Horsemen's attack on Cybertron during [[What Lies Beneath, Part Two|issue 21]].}}

===Panini ''Armada'' comic===
In the early days of the war, Cyclonus, [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] and [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]] performed an airstrike on the [[Autobot Command HQ]]. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 9|Counter-Strike!}} As the war with the Autobots continued for millions of years, and Cyclonus was seen fighting alongside Starscream some more. {{storylink|First Encounter!}}

When the Mini-Cons were discovered on [[Earth]], [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] summoned the two fliers and [[Demolishor (Armada)|Demolishor]] to scour the planet. Shortly after arriving, they got into a battle with the Autobots again, and Cyclonus was rammed out of the sky by a flying [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]]. {{storylink|Friends and Foes!}} The Decepticons later attacked the Autobots to stop them from sending some Mini-Cons back to Cybertron, and kind of succeeded. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 4|No Way Back!}} When Megatron went looking for Mini-Cons on the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], he took Cyclonus and Demolishor with him. They didn't do much searching, though, as they soon ran into two Autobots sent to stop them. Cyclonus spent some time strafing [[Scavenger (Armada)|Scavenger]] until he got his [[Rollbar (Armada)|own Mini-Con powerup]] and presumably defeated the crazy copter. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 6|Between Two Worlds!}}

The Decepticons remained on the Moon and built a new base, from which they prepared to fire missiles at the Autobot base on Earth. When the Autobots' Mini-Cons surrendered in exchange for their friends' lives, Cyclonus was sent to pick them up in a [[solar barge]] and take them to the Moon. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 8|Earthshaker!}} Unfortunately, the Mini-Cons broke out during the trip and cut the cable connecting Cyclonus and the barge. When the Decepticon noticed, he prepared to destroy the pesky Mini-Cons, but was shot by [[Jolt (Armada)|Jolt]]'s electrical darts. This crashed his guidance systems, and he was sent floating aimlessly through space. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 8|Lost in Space!}} Cyclonus crashed on the Moon's surface, where he was found by the [[Destruction Mini-Con Team]]. The three Mini-Cons power-linked with him, taking control of his body in order to use it against the other Decepticons. As he was forced to bombard his headquarters and grapple with his leader, Cyclonus could do naught but plead that it wasn't his fault. Eventually, Starscream used a [[sonic destabiliser]] to disconnect the Destruction Team from him. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 9|Dawn of Destruction!}}
When a [[Mini-Con]] signal drew the Decepticons to Earth, Cyclonus was deployed in the [[Amazon]] to find the signal's origin. The Autobots were not far behind, and once they reached the hilltop where the signal had originated, he revealed himself, declaring Earth to be Decepticon property before departing, leaving a [[Heavy Unit]] behind to deal with them.

After the defeat of [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] in [[Antarctica]], the Autobots returned to the Amazon, venturing deeper into the jungle to an ancient temple. There, Cyclonus attacked again, tossing the Autobots all across the temple's surroundings and strafing them in copter mode. Eventually, the Autobots managed to deal him a finishing blow that sent him spiraling out of control in copter mode as his internal components exploded. {{storylink|Transformers (PS2)|Transformers}}
*'''Cyclonus with Mini-Con Crumplezone''' (Deluxe, 2002/2003)
**''Japanese ID number:'' '''MD-04'''
**''Accessories'': Missile, "gatling" missile, rotor blade

: Cyclonus transforms into a Cybertronian flat-nosed helicopter coloured in light blue and light grey with dark blue and gold accents. His primary [[gimmick]] is a trigger-activated gear assembly that runs through the length of the vehicle mode; pulling the trigger both spins the rotor blade and a gear system in the cockpit area. Attaching a compatible geared Mini-Con to the square frame on the underside of his cockpit (any member of the [[Destruction Mini-Con Team]], the [[Adventure Mini-Con Team]], or [[Refute]]) allows the gear system to activate ''their'' gear-wheel gimmicks as well by pulling the trigger, and attaching Mini-Cons to the [[Powerlinx]] [[5mm post|plug]]s on either of his arms/wing-mounted weapon pods launches a spring-loaded missile. In robot mode, attaching a Mini-Con to the plugs on either side of his legs will make a spring-loaded (non-firing) cannon pop up from his shins. Additionally, his rotor blade is detachable and can be mounted onto any of his Powerlinx plugs, although this will not activate any gimmicks.

: His Mini-Con [[Crumplezone (Armada)#Armada|Crumplezone]] can also be transformed into a long-nosed "cockpit" with under-slung cannon that can attach to the front end of Cyclonus (once you raise his normal canopy up). If the trigger is pulled while Crumplezone is attached, the gears make his cannon move back and forth.

: The [[TakaraTomy|Takara]] release of Cyclonus has some slight color differences from the [[Hasbro]], including a "separated" painted sigil, and a much brighter white plastic.

: This mold was also used to make ''[[Transformers: Cybertron (franchise)|Cybertron]]'' [[Buzzsaw (Cybertron)|Buzzsaw]].
He came with a block-version of his Mini-Con partner [[Crumplezone (Armada)#BTR|Crumplezone]], as well as the larger [[Megatron (Armada)/toys#Built to Rule|Megatron]] with [[Leader-1 (Armada)|Leader-1]] model.
: This [[redeco]] of Cyclonus uses mostly bright green plastic, as well as dark grey and chocolate-brown. He retains all of his original gimmicks and still has [[Crumplezone (Armada)#Powerlinx|his Mini-Con partner]]. He may have been designed as something of a questionable [[homage]] to [[Springer (G1)|Springer]].<ref>[[Aaron Archer]], in an "Orson's World" post, once noted that if he had his way, he'd have named the toy as a new character called "Sprigger".
: This toy was not released as part of the normal ''Micron Legend'' series in Japan, but was straight-imported as a [[USA Edition]] exclusive to [[LaOX]] stores on [[September 27]]th, 2003.

: In November of 2003, US Toys "R" Us stores had special bonus pack Max-Con (Deluxe) toys, which came with a single bonus Mini-Con attached to the card over their sticker, for ''less'' than the price as a normal Max-Con during Toys "R" Us' post-Thanksgiving-day sale. Like Powerlinx [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]], Powerlinx Cyclonus came with one of the [[Adventure Mini-Con Team]] members: [[Dune Runner (Armada)|Dune Runner]], [[Iceberg]] or [[Ransack (Armada)|Ransack]].
However, at the time KB was undergoing financial troubles, closing numerous stores across the United States, and it appears that the two toys did not make it to a great many of the stores that remained open. Many did make their way to Toy Liquidator outlets, a sub-company within KB mostly found in outlet malls. In 2006, the toys eventually made it to a wider distribution through the remaining KB stores.
* According to the [[Transformers (PS2)|''Armada'' Playstation 2 game]] instruction booklet, Cyclonus's ''Armada'' body has the following statistics:

:Height: 19' 7" (17' 1" vehicle mode)

* In the cartoon, Cyclonus NEVER had the right Mini-Con. In one episode, it is [[Longarm (Armada)|Longarm]] that he uses, while in another episode, it is [[Drill Bit (Armada)|Drill Bit]] (whom he refers to as Crumplezone).

* Snow Cat may have been originally intended as a separate character.
'''Optimus and Galvatron wage their final brutal battle, while the rest of the Transformers deal with Unicron.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Unicron]] is no longer functional, his body lying dormant in space. [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] lets the assembled armies return to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] to begin the rebuilding.

Inside of Unicron, [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] holds onto the idea that he can still become the sole ruler of the universe. Now that Unicron is gone, it's left to [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] and Galvatron to finish the war. Optimus and the kids try to argue that now that the two militaries have been united, there's no need to continue the fight, but Galvatron reminds his foe that the hatred left over from an unfinished war would repower Unicron.

On Cybertron, [[Side Swipe (Armada)|Side Swipe]] alerts the other that Unicron is in motion again. Hot Shot decides to go to Unicron to retrieve Optimus Prime, but [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] takes Hot Shot's place. [[Cyclonus (Armada)|Cyclonus]] follows Jetfire.

Optimus says goodbye to the children; the kids don't want to go, but he convinces them that the final battle must be fought. After throwing away the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] (so it isn't damaged in battle), Prime starts the fight with some gunfire and a knee to Galvatron's face. When Galvatron gets up, he and Prime blast their firepower at each other.

Outside of Unicron, Jetfire and Cyclonus pick up the kids and bring them back to Cybertron. The kids report on what the two leaders are doing, and it seems Unicron isn't quite dead either. Under heavy pressure, Hot Shot orders the attack against Unicron to be resumed, with special care taken not to harm the leaders.

Inside, Optimus Prime and Galvatron continue to rumble. Prime throws one of his wheels directly into Galvatron's primary cannon. The resulting explosion blasts Galvatron through a wall, but the Decepticon is only amused by the ferocity of the combat. Unicron's words echo in Prime's mind. Galvatron uses his extending antlers to toss Prime around. Prime breaks off the blades and uses them against his rival, but Galvatron scores a critical hit through Optimus with his hidden wrist blade.

The [[Transformer]]s buzz around Unicron, blasting him through his own trenches. [[Alexis Thi Dang|Alexis]] notices that during the combat, a large, growing black hole has appeared on Unicron's surface.

Optimus Prime stands up, refusing to give up the fight. Decompression sends the warriors outside of Unicron, onto his external surface. Galvatron acquires a nearby pipe to use as a battle staff, but Optimus displays amazing agility and stands on the staff, prancing along it to kick Galvatron in the face. While Galvatron is still stunned, Optimus hefts his foe and cramps Galvatron's midsection, but in the process, the metal pipe is shoved down Prime's back.

The two warriors break for a moment, and Galvatron admits that even though he lost the battle, he enjoyed the thrill of it. The moment of peace between the two is disturbed by Unicron transforming into his planet mode. Prime is stuck holding onto Galvatron as the two are sucked toward Unicron's maw. Galvatron, determined to see only one winner of the war (even if it isn't him) instructs Prime to let him fall. Prime refuses, so Galvatron cuts himself loose and free-falls into oblivion. As soon as Galvatron is absorbed, Unicron vanishes. Left floating in space, Optimus decides he's unworthy of the Matrix.

Sometime later, Hot Shot and Jetfire return the kids to Earth. They agree that they've all learned a lot from each other ever since their first encounter. [[Carlos Lopez|Carlos]], [[Fred (Armada)|Fred]], and [[Billy (Armada)|Billy]] start to cry. Alexis gazes down at her pendant that contains the [[Mars (planet)|Mars]] stone that [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] gave her, smiling sadly as if remembering him. With the war over, Optimus Prime narrates the closing moments. But hidden behind a distant, green planet, Unicron endures.

==Notes==
===Differences with ''Micron Legend''===
* After tossing out the Matrix before his final battle against Super Megatron in ''Micron Legend'', Convoy says "I am not fighting you as a Commander but as a Transformer called Convoy!" In the American version, Optimus says that he was fighting Galvatron as the leader of all Transformers! Ego much?
* Near the end where Optimus is refusing to let go of Galvatron from being sucked into Unicron, there's a change of translation. Galvatron practically yells at Optimus to let go so that Unicron will die from the lack of evil and to watch over the Autobots after slicing his own tread in ''Armada''. In ''Micron Legend'', Galvatron observes that despite their differences in appearances, both might have been looking for the same thing, and that Optimus is the light while he's darkness. On slicing his own tread, he adds that even in the next generation (or world), Prime is destined to be his rival, plus that so long as there's light there will be darkness, and to not forget that evil is eternal. Where Optimus yells his rival's name after disappearing into Unicron in ''Armada'', he whispers "Megatron" in ''Micron Legend''.

===Animation and technical errors===
*When Hot Shot yells "Attack!" as Unicron is transforming back into planet mode, the animation actually shows the Transformer fleet ''escaping'' (which would make sense), which suggests Hot Shot's line was a scripting error, or his soldiers just didn't obey him.

===Transformers references===
'''Hot Shot goes on a solo mission to convince Galvatron that the Autobots and Decepticons should fight to stop Unicron.'''

==Synopsis==
On [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] and [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]] command the rest of the [[Decepticon]]s not to pay any attention to the black hole outside and to disregard the [[Autobot]]s' offer for a collaborative effort against it. Away from the rest of the Decepticons, Thrust cackles at how he's manipulating both armies.

The Autobots wait, impatient and tense. The kids aboard the ship feel depressed as they watch the combat lights on Cybertron's surface. [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] passes them, on his way to personally charge into the Decepticons' stronghold and reason with Galvatron. The kids and [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]] do their best to dissuade him—but [[Rad White|Rad]] realizes that everybody should let Hot Shot go and convinces the others that it's the best idea.

Once Hot Shot is gone, the rest of the Autobots fly to assist [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] but come under attack. The [[Mini-Con]]s assist by forming several holographic copies of the ship to distract the Decepticons.

Fully armed, Hot Shot takes a small craft and buzzes through the Decepticon's defenses to their front door. He motors around their base, passing plenty of opposition. Eventually, [[Wheeljack (Armada)|Wheeljack]] arrives to fight Hot Shot one-on-one. The rumble between the two carries into the Decepticons' throne room, where Thrust was seconds away from receiving the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]] from Galvatron.

Wheeljack tries to convince Galvatron to listen to Hot Shot's message, and Wheeljack's compassion convinces Galvatron to open his ears. As Hot Shot explains Unicron, Galvatron notices Thrust panicking and connects the sudden presence of [[Unicron]] to the ''[[Hydra Cannon]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s un-Cybertronian technology. Starscream pipes up, mentioning that Thrust has been conspiring against Galvatron. With his plans exposed, Thrust grabs the [[Requiem Blaster (Armada)|Requiem Blaster]] and the [[Skyboom (Armada)|Skyboom Shield]] and reveals that he's been working in the service of Unicron, then he runs away. Starscream, Hot Shot, and Wheeljack chase after the traitor.
==Notes==
===Differences with ''Micron Legend''===

===Animation and technical errors===
* In the fifth shot, Demolishor has an Autobot logo, albeit in purple.
* The second time Jetfire radios the rest of the Autobots, he's colored like Optimus.
* Right after Jetfire radios the Autobots, Blurr's head is behind the headrest of his seat.
* The Decepticons' starship officers refer to the ''Axalon'' as the "Cybertron ship" as a general description, Cybertron being the Japanese name for the Autobots.
* In one shot, Wheeljack's Autobot insignia is colored purple.
* When Thrust declares his true loyalty to Unicron, he initially appears without the Requiem Blaster and the Skyboom Shield he grabbed moments before, instead holding one of his missile launchers (which are also missing from his legs). They appear subsequently after a reaction shot of Galvatron.
* After the Decepticons are all blown away by Thrust's spinning wings attack, the spinning animation has disappeared and he merely fades away instead of being animated running away (which is how he is shown to be escaping moments later)
* Though the [[character model]] of ''Generation 1'' Decepticon [[Misfire]] also appears as a Decepticon weapons officer in the blockade fleet, he later appears in different colours, missing half of his cockpit backpack as an Autobot questioning Optimus Prime's orders for a withdrawal.
* Scavenger calls Optimus Prime the commander of the 'Cybertron' army, yet another case of the dubbing team not translating instances of 'Cybertron' (the faction) into 'Autobot'.

===Continuity errors===
* It is unclear how Wheeljack's missile/guns/sword things are able to withstand the power of the Star Saber when he saves Hot Shot from Galvatron's enraged attack.
*Red Alert agrees to "cover for" Hot Shot when the latter is planning to make an unauthorized mission to Galvatron on Cybertron. The very next scene sees Hoist describing, in precise detail, the events of the previous scene, while Hot Shot has barely cleared the Axalon. Apparently Red Alert's definition of "cover for" is "run and tell everyone that".
*In the same sequences, when Scavenger insists that Hot Shot "can take care of himself", the kids, including Rad, get upset and urge the other Autobots follow him and back him up. This, in spite of the fact that Rad said ''exactly the same thing'' only moments ago to convince the other kids and Red Alert into letting Hot Shot go in the first place. Erratic tween emotions or bipolar script writers? You decide.
===Trivia===
*The Decepticon starship crew attacking the [[Axalon (Armada)|''Axalon'']] use recoloured character models of ''Generation 1'' Decepticons Misfire and [[Weirdwolf]].
*This episode depicts the only use of Thrust's toy spinning wings gimmick, though he activates it independently of his Mini-Con [[Inferno (Armada)|Inferno]].
'''An Autobot and a Decepticon arrive from Cybertron, each with histories tied to the Autobot crew.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Image:AWheeljack-Fire.jpg|right|180px|thumb|BURN in the FIRES of Inferno! Maxi—err, Autobot.]]
''Surrounded by flames, [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] tries to lift off a large piece of debris holding down [[Wheeljack (Armada)|Wheeljack]]'s legs. Over Wheeljack's protest, Hot Shot runs to get additional assistance, leaving his friend waiting. Outside of the flames, Hot Shot's superior refuses to let Hot Shot endanger himself by entering the flames again.''

On [[Earth]], the kids mock [[Side Swipe (Armada)|Side Swipe]]'s self-introduction. Side Swipe greets [[Blurr (Armada)|Blurr]], but Blurr is embarrassed and denies knowing Side Swipe. After coming inside, Side Swipe stands on his own head and calls for help to jog Blurr's memory of the two's meeting.

[[Image:Past Part 1 Side Swipe caught.jpg|left|200px|thumb|Meanwhile, in Robots in Disguise...]]
''On a sunny [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], Side Swipe has been suspended upside down (possibly due to a poor attempt at a parachute landing). After a brief name exchange, Blurr blasts the rope holding Side Swipe in place.''

Seeking his savior, Side Swipe followed Blurr to Earth. But Blurr has no interest in the enthusiastic wannabe and walks away. When Side Swipe tries to follow, he stumbles and disturbs Blurr's work. Blurr, [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]], and Hot Shot meet and decide that Hot Shot is best suited to becomes Side Swipe's mentor.

[[Fred (Armada)|Fred]] and [[Billy (Armada)|Billy]] play a video game. Billy wins, but both players are scolded by [[Alexis Thi Dang|Alexis]].

Hot Shot walks out into the rain to take Side Swipe under his wing. After the two are introduced, they go to the target range. Side Swipe manages to destroy his target, but without anything close to precision. Outside, Side Swipe displays that he can't transform very fast either.

''Wheeljack, stranded inside of the burning terrain, calls out for help. While Hot Shot doesn't answer, [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] marches from the flames.''

By a pretty lake, Side Swipe and Hot Shot have a heart to heart. Side Swipe explains how he idolizes the dedication of Blurr, but Hot Shot instead suggests Side Swipe set more reasonable goals to find his own identity. A black car monitors the two in secret.

[[Image:ArmadaHotShot Wheeljack sunset.jpg|right|180px|thumb|"Sure would suck if I was trapped in a fire and rescued by Megatron, owing my life to him, forcing us to be on opposite sides."]]

Alexis enjoys Fred and Billy's video game.

Cruising on a highway, the black car aggressively approaches the two [[Autobot]]s. They attempt to ignore him (assuming he's domestic to the planet), but Wheeljack knocks away Side Swipe and shows his defaced Autobot logo to Hot Shot. Side Swipe connects with his [[Mini-Con]] and accelerates to fight back, while Hot Shot remembers:

''On Cybertron, years ago, Hot Shot is appointed the supervisor of an enthusiastic younger bot. In person, Wheeljack's idolization matches Side Swipe's idolization of Blurr. Wheeljack then cryptically mentions the possibility of the two being separated by battle.''

Use of holograms, vanishing, and aggressive driving allow Wheeljack to easily knock Side Swipe off of a cliff on one side of the road. With the younger Autobot out of the way, Hot Shot and Wheeljack are formally reintroduced. Wheeljack disregards Hot Shot's apology for the abandonment on Cybertron and explains how Megatron saved and recruited him. Now the two stand on opposite sides, and Wheeljack faces down Hot Shot with his weapon drawn... and fires.
"Prepare yourself, Hot Shot. You're about to get a little surprise from your past. You may have forgotten what you did to me but I will ''never'' forget."
:—'''Wheeljack''' expositing as he drives toward Hot Shot and Side Swipe.

"I think you're mistaken, Hot Shot. I didn't come here for revenge. I'm no longer the Wheeljack you knew. Like I said, I've been reborn. I've become... a Decepticon!"<br>
"No! It's... not true!"<br>
"Sorry, but it is. Our friendship's over. Let's forget the past and get on with our lives so we can battle as enemies, understand? There's nothing I can do to change the past."
:—'''Wheeljack''', oddly, claiming he isn't here for revenge, when he's here for revenge.

==Other notes==
===Differences with ''Micron Legend''===
===Animation and technical errors===
* Connecting with his Mini-Con changes Side Swipe's appearance, but in the next overhead shot, they re-use artwork of him before he powerlinked.
* In the shot with multiple Wheeljacks they are all missing their damaged Autobot symbols.
* Additionally, Blurr is missing the Autobot symbol on his chest in Side Swipe's flashback and then again in the following scene back at the base.
* While Wheeljack is chasing Hotshot and Side Swipe, in one shot, his small Decepticon symbol is missing.
* When Wheeljack first pulls his weapon out, it's colored grey. In the next shot, it's the proper color of yellow.
* Hot Shot and Wheeljack are drawn without the details that indicate having terrestrial alternate modes. But Megatron is animated in his Earth animation model, instead of the pre-scan animation model he had in "[[First Encounter]]".
* Wheeljack claims that he isn't here for revenge, when the rest of the episode clearly shows he's obsessed with the past and is here to take revenge on Hot Shot. This is perhaps due to translation errors or merely Wheeljack's own twisted perspective.

===Foreign localization===
'''German'''
:*''Title:'' "'''Der Überläufer, Teil 1'''" ("The Renegade, Part 1")
:*''Original airdate:'' This episode was never shown on TV, but was dubbed in 2003. The dub premiered in 2009 with the German DVD release of the show.

===Trivia===
*This episode has no opening narration at all.
*One of the members of Hot Shot's team on Cybertron is identical in design to [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]], only... much larger.
*At the beginning, Wheeljack was colored white, like his [[Generation 1]] [[Wheeljack (G1)| namesake]].
*Hot Shot's other superior on Cybertron uses an identical design to [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]], but in different colors and much, much smaller.
*Hot Shot's superior in the flashback is voiced by [[Brian Dobson]], but despite the dorkish behavior, it's unlikely he's [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]].
*It's never explained if Wheeljack is teleporting, or using light-manipulation.
*Nor is it explained where Side Swipe picked up his Mini-Con Nightbeat.
*Cybertron is shown to have clouds and an Earth-like atmosphere during daylight scenes in this episode.
*This episode ends on a cliffhanger, with the screen fading to black as Wheeljack points his weapon at Hot Shot, before a gunshot is heard.
'''Kre-O''' is a new play pattern expression of [[Hasbro]]'s best brands using quality construction bricks and mini-figurines. No, it's not ''[[Built to Rule]]''. It's especially not that thing that begins with an L! But it sure works with that thing that begins with an L.

L employees are asked to please not view this webpage.

Unveiled at [[Toy Fair 2011]], ''[[Transformers brand|Transformers]]'' was the first Hasbro brand to be released as Kre-O construction brick kits. The kits center around a Transformers character that can be taken apart and reassembled into a vehicle. Mini-figures called [[Kreon]]s are also included in the larger kits, and these mini-figures are a mix of Transformers characters and human drivers. Prices range from $7.99 to $59.99. The line launched [[June 6]], [[2011]].

The robot/vehicle kits seem inspired by a mix of ''Transformers'' aesthetics, while the ''Transformers'' Kreons are strongly based on the [[Sunbow]] animation designs. Though most of the toys feature heads designed directly from their ''Classics''/''Universe''/''Generations'' counterparts, a few kits feature heads taken from other sources, such as Megatron's head inspired by the Cybertronian form of [[Megatron (Animated)|''Animated'' Megatron]]. And while Sentinel Prime's kit is clearly inspired by his ''Dark of the Moon'' appearance, his head takes most of its cues from the vastly different ''Animated'' version of the character.

==Sets==
* '''[[Optimus Prime (Kre-O)|Optimus Prime]]''' ('''568''' pieces) w/ Optimus Prime, Skywarp, Bluestreak, and two human motorcycle driver Kreons
: Optimus Prime's trailer can stow two motorcycles, which the humans can ride

* '''[[Sentinel Prime (Kre-O)|Sentinel Prime]]''' ('''381''' pieces) w/ Soundwave, Thundercracker, Sentinel Prime, and driver Kreons
: Sentinel Prime can be rebuilt from a red and black ''Dark of the Moon''-inspired robot mode to a fire truck

* '''[[Megatron (Kre-O)|Megatron]]''' (30668) ('''310''' pieces) w/ Megatron, Shockwave, human "Specialist" and human SWAT "Police" Kreon
: Megatron can be rebuilt into a gray semi-cab, based heavily on his appearance in the live-action movie ''[[Transformers: Dark of the Moon (franchise)|Dark of the Moon]]''. The robot mode head sculpt and overall robot mode coloration, however, is based on his [[Transformers Animated (franchise)|''Animated'']] appearance.

* '''[[Starscream (Kre-O)|Starscream]]''' (30667) ('''316''' pieces) w/ Starscream and human "Pilot" Kreons
: Starscream can transform into a jet somewhat resembling an F-14. His coloration and robot mode are heavily influenced by his original 1984 and Universe (2009) appearance.

* '''[[Sideswipe (Kre-O)|Sideswipe]]''' (31771) ('''220''' pieces) w/ Sideswipe and human "Driver" Kreons
: Sideswipe can be rebuilt into a red sportscar that somewhat homages his original Generation One appearance, but with additional detailing very loosely based on some of his movie-incarnation toys.

* '''[[Ratchet (Kre-O)|Autobot Ratchet]]''' (30662) ('''197''' pieces) w/ Ratchet and human "Medic" Kreons
: Ratchet can be rebuilt into an ambulance that strongly resembles his appearance in Transformers: Animated. The robot mode seems to be a mix of his original Generation One appearance as well as his Animated appearance.

* '''[[Bumblebee (Kre-O)|Bumblebee]]''' (36421) ('''336''' pieces) w/ Bumblebee, Red Alert, and human "Driver" Kreons
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a Camaro-like muscle car, based on the live-action movies. The head sculpt is a mix of Bumblebee's various incarnations. The human "Driver" is strongly reminiscent of [[Sam Witwicky]] from the live-action movies.

===Basic Series===
* '''[[Mirage (Kre-O)|Mirage]]''' (31145) ('''119''' pieces) w/ Mirage and "Race Driver" Kreons
: Mirage can be rebuilt into an F-1 racer based heavily on Mirage's Generation One appearance.

* '''[[Jazz (Kre-O)|Autobot Jazz]]''' (31146) ('''122''' pieces) w/ Jazz and human "Race Driver" Kreons
: Jazz can be rebuilt into a silver sports car with red/blue stripes. The primary coloration of the car (silver/gray) is the same as the live-action movie, but the coloring of the trim pieces and additional sticker details are from the original Generation One appearance. Though the packaging depicts his head to be gray, like the rest of his body, it is in fact, black.

* '''[[Prowl (Kre-O)|Prowl]]''' (30690) ('''190''' pieces) w/ Prowl and human "SWAT Commander" Kreons
: Prowl can be rebuilt into a white police car with black trim, strongly reminiscent of his original incarnation in Generation One.

===Promotional Series===
* Smaller '''Optimus Prime''' (31143) ('''90''' pieces)
: Optimus can be rebuilt into a flat-nosed semi-tractor strongly reminiscent of his appearance of the Classics toyline. This kit does not include a Kreon.

* Smaller '''Bumblebee''' (31144) ('''74''' pieces)
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a small sports coupe. Does not include a Kreon. This form is based most heavily on Bumblebee's appearance in the Classics toyline.

* Matrix '''Optimus Prime''' Kreon
: Promotional item given at Botcon 2011. Redeco of Optimus Prime Kreon showing the [[Matrix of Leadership]].
* '''Destruction Site [[Devastator (Kre-O)|Devastator]]''' (36914) (560 pieces) w/ Devastator, [[Ironhide (Kre-O)|Ironhide]], human "Foreman" and three human "Construction Worker" Kreons
: A "9 in 1" set that includes '''[[Scrapper (Kre-O)|Scrapper]]''', '''[[Drillbit]]''', '''[[Scavenger (Kre-O)|Scavenger]]''' and '''[[Hightower (Kre-O)|Hightower]]''', each of whom can be rebuilt from construction vehicles into robots, or combined into the super robot Devastator. Devastator takes cues from both his Generation 1 and ''Revenge of the Fallen'' incarnations. The set also contains a buildable "construction site" play environment.

* '''Cycle Chase''' (36954) ('''75''' pieces) w/ [[Barricade (Kre-O)|Barricade]] and three [[Autobot Trooper]] Kreons
: This set includes a Decepticon motorcycle that can be rebuilt as a robot drone and a (very) small buildable "Autobot roadblock" play environment.

* '''Rotor Rage''' (36959) ('''217''' pieces) w/ [[Vortex (Kre-O)|Vortex]], human "Commando" and human "ATV Driver" Kreons
: This set features '''Vortex''', who can be built as a robot or a helicopter, as well as a small red all-terrain vehicle.

* '''Street Showdown''' (38771) ('''273''' pieces) w/ [[Wheeljack (Kre-O)|Wheeljack]], [[Knock Out (Kre-O)|Knock Out]], and two human "Driver" Kreons
: '''Wheeljack''' and '''Knock Out''' can each be built as a car or a robot. The mock-up packaging at Toy Fair identifies Knock Out as an Autobot, but he and Wheeljack are fighting anyway.

* '''Decepticon Ambush''' (38781) ('''80''' pieces) w/ [[Cliffjumper (Kre-O)|Cliffjumper]] and three [[Vehicon (Kre-O)|Vehicon]] Kreons
: This set includes an Autobot all-terrain vehicle that can be rebuilt as a robot drone and a (very) small buildable "Decepticon checkpoint" play environment.

* '''Battle for Energon''' (98812) ('''379''' pieces) w/ [[Optimus Prime (Kre-O)|Optimus Prime]], [[Megatron (Kre-O)|Megatron]], human "Security Guard" and human "Bank Robber" Kreons
: '''Optimus Prime''' and '''Megatron''' battle around a buildable "bank" play environment in this set. Optimus can be rebuilt as his conventional longnose semi cab mode, whereas Megatron can now be rebuilt as a Cybertronic battle tank. The Optimus and Megatron Kreons included in this set are more ''Prime''-styled than their previous figures.

* '''Stealth [[Bumblebee (Kre-O)|Bumblebee]]''' (98814) ('''257''' pieces) w/ Bumblebee, human "Driver", and two human "Security Guard" Kreons
: Stealth Bumblebee features a small robot-to-muscle car Bumblebee in his black-with-yellow "Stealth" coloration, as well as a buildable "military checkpoint" play environment and a bright green Decepticon motorcycle. The Bumblebee Kreon in this set is much more ''Prime''-styled than the previous one. The set also for some reason includes a bulldog ([[Bonecrusher (dog)|Bonecrusher]]?).
==Notes==
* While the Kre-O bricks and such are compatible with L bricks, take care with mixing Kreon and Minifigure parts, particularly helmets. Full-coverage Kreon helmets like Optimus Prime's and Soundwave's are a bit tight, and getting a L Minifigure head out of them is exceedingly difficult. They'll pop off the neck before the helmet relinquishes the head. Open-face helmets like Starscream's, where you can get a "grip" on the head with the pad of your finger, should be fine.
* Apparently, Kre-O bricks are manufactured by Korean toy company [http://www.oxfordtoy.co.kr/ Oxford]<ref>[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/415032-transformers-kre-o-thoughts-19.html#post6288246 Transformers Kre-O - Thoughts? on TFW2005]</ref>.
* Kreon [[Hound (Kre-O)|Hound]] was shown loose at Botcon 2011 with no indication on how he'll be released.

==Sets==

* '''[[Starscream (Kre-O)|Starscream]]''' (30667) ('''316''' pieces) w/ Starscream and human "Pilot" Kreons
: Starscream can transform into a jet somewhat resembling an F-14. His coloration and robot mode are heavily influenced by his original 1984 and Universe (2009) appearance.

* '''[[Sideswipe (Kre-O)|Sideswipe]]''' (31771) ('''220''' pieces) w/ Sideswipe and human "Driver" Kreons

===Basic Series===
* '''[[Mirage (Kre-O)|Mirage]]''' (31145) ('''119''' pieces) w/ Mirage and "Race Driver" Kreons

===Promotional Series===
* Smaller '''Optimus Prime''' (31143) ('''90''' pieces)
: Optimus can be rebuilt into a flat-nosed semi-tractor strongly reminiscent of his appearance of the Classics toyline. This kit does not include a Kreon.

* Smaller '''Bumblebee''' (31144) ('''74''' pieces)
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a small sports coupe. Does not include a Kreon. This form is based most heavily on Bumblebee's appearance in the Classics toyline.

* Matrix '''Optimus Prime''' Kreon

* '''Decepticon Ambush''' (38781) ('''80''' pieces) w/ [[Cliffjumper (Kre-O)|Cliffjumper]] and three [[Vehicon (Kre-O)|Vehicon]] Kreons

The Bumblebee Kreon in this set is much more ''Prime''-styled than the previous one. The set also for some reason includes a bulldog ([[Bonecrusher (dog)|Bonecrusher]]?).
==Notes==
