Autobots attack the Decepticon base on the Moon and make a discovery.

Synopsis
By himself, Demolishor grumpily cleans up the Decepticons' base after Starscream's rampage. Turning around, he is surprised to see Starscream standing right behind him, and he drops some of the items he was carrying on his own foot. He is then introduced to Starscream's new running crew: the Autobots. Naturally, Demolishor activates the alarm.

The Autobots and Decepticons meet in Megatron's throne room. Megatron fires the Requiem Blaster at Starscream, but Smokescreen blocks the shot with the Skyboom Shield. A bright light from the impact fills the room, blinding the Autobots long enough for Megatron to retreat, leaving his troops behind to finish the battle. The Autobots and Decepticons engage in battle with each other, with Side Swipe attempting to take on Tidal Wave on his own. While Starscream is blinded by his vengeance, Laserbeak and Hot Shot are assigned to locate Perceptor.

Perceptor plays Jerry, running away from Demolishor's Tom. When Demolishor backs Perceptor into a corner, Laserbeak flies into Demolishor's face just long enough to ruin the Decepticon's aim. While Demolishor stumbles about, Hot Shot arrives to punch him down. Perceptor runs ahead and finds himself in an encounter with Tidal Wave, and again Hot Shot comes to the Mini-Con's rescue. But because of Tidal Wave's power and size, Hot Shot has more difficulty taking the Decepticon down. Perceptor then leaves.

Perceptor finds all his captured Mini-Con brothers in a hidden underground facility, where they're being put to work to assemble a gigantic spaceship. Perceptor has some blippy dialogue with the other Mini-Cons, during which Megatron attacks. When Perceptor is grasped by the neck, the Mini-Cons begin one of their irregular chants, like the one played when the Requiem Blaster was first formed. The Mini-Cons all stop working on the space ship and surround an annoyed Megatron. When Megatron attempts to punish the insolent machines, Hot Shot attacks, covering the Mini-Cons' escape. Tidal Wave arrives just in time to watch Megatron and Hot Shot race out, but Smokescreen shows up to keep Tidal Wave company.

Side Swipe and Perceptor guide all the emancipated Mini-Cons through the Decepticons' warp gate to the Autobot base.

Megatron and Hot Shot continue to battle. Megatron is finally about to deactivate the Autobot, but Starscream slices Megatron's cannon off. Against both Hot Shot and Starscream, Megatron falls. With the Mini-Cons safe, Optimus Prime calls his forces to return back to the Autobot base, but Starscream would rather stay to finish off Megatron. Starscream agrees to return with the Autobots, but is left feeling upset about it.
Differences with Micron Legend
Animation and technical errors
*After Demolishor pushes the alarm button, for a shot, Starscream's Star Saber is drawn in the distinct shape of his regular wing-blade.

* Mirage and Dirt Boss are among the Mini-Cons in Megatron's construction facility, but earlier, the Autobots were using the Skyboom Shield, which includes them both as components.

*As Megatrons graps Perceptor, he's hand is miscolored dark purple.

* Tidal Wave's size in robot mode is incredibly inconsistent from shot to shot, ranging from huge to only just larger than the other Decepticons (in order to fit indoors.) In one scene, the puny Tidal Wave enters the room where the Mini-cons are working, is much larger as Hot Shot and Megatron drive between his legs, and he turns around and crashes into the walls of the same hallway he'd just come from and gets stuck, being far too large to enter now.

*When Smokescreen hits the stuck Tidal Wave, Tidal Wave is horribly miscolored for a moment.
*Lots of animation short-cuts are used to depict the Mini-Con hordes, including:
**Looped sequences, making it appear as though the same Mini-Cons are running past repeatedly.
**In one shot of Mini-Cons teleporting into the Autobot base, the majority of them have the same upper body.
**In the shot following, Carlos and four Spirals are on screen at the same time.

*As Starscream and Hot Shot take him down, Megatron is momentarily drawn with Tidal Wave's Dark Fleet Armor components on his arms.

Transformers references
* Thrust is called a "conehead", a term occasionally used for group of Generation 1 Seekers his namesake was part of.
* Side Swipe is nicknamed "Swiper," a possible reference to Andrew Frankel.

Real-world references
*Smokescreen says with his new armor, he just keeps going and going, just like a certain pink, sandal-wearing, drumming bunny.

Foreign localization
German
:*Title: "Die Befreiung der Mini-Cons" ("The Liberation of the Mini-Cons")
:*Original airdate: This episode was never shown on TV, but was dubbed in 2003. The dub premiered in 2009 with the German DVD release of the show.

Trivia
*The Skyboom Shield reappears for the first time since it was knocked out of Optimus' hands in "Desperate".
*Scavenger, Blurr and Side Swipe are barely seen during the battle. Blurr in particular is only shown in a few panning shots of the Autobots firing.
*Thrust is shown to be holding one of the weapons normally attached to his legs.
*This episode show more minicons than any other episode.
Cliffjumper puts some Autobots to the test while the forces of darkness plot.

Synopsis
It's 2012, and a number of alien ambassadors are visiting Autobot City. Some distance away, Cliffjumper is having some of the Autobots recently augmented by forestonite give a demonstration of the new powers they've picked up. Despite Ultra Magnus reminding him by radio that they're still Autobots, Cliffjumper doesn't trust these crazy new powers until he's seen them firsthand. He has them destroy mock Decepticon targets with their various powers while he takes notes.

Back in the city, Magnus briefs Rapido, Sizzle and Pyro on a recent break in at Quantum Laboratories, including the theft of some schematics. He assigns them the task of finding the perpetrator and retrieving the information, something which Sizzle is already working on, using his power to send his consciousness into the future and track enemies.

On Cybertron, Jhiaxus recieves a report from Clench about the theft. Jhiaxus thanks him for the information, but Clench is cagey on the Firecons he's provided to Jhiaxus. Jhiaxus, however, has found out all he needs to know about them from Sky-Byte. He decides it's time to leave, and the "other two" will needs to be recalled.

Meanwhile Runabout and Runamuck are exploring Cybertron's innards, and have found the personality components Jhiaxus was after. They're interrupted by a stasis hibernation pod, which opens to reveal Side Burn!
The Wreckers are a special task force, generally composed of the best and the toughest die-hard fighters around. Its ranks comprise a who's-who of the obscure; mechs you've never heard much about, mostly because the Wreckers are often called in to fight when the odds of success are slim. Bluntly, they tend to burn through their roster at a frightening rate. The Wreckers are a close-knit group that's more concerned with bursting in, guns-blazing, and doing their Thing, than they are concerned with, say, strategy. Despite their disregard for planning and the bodycount their team mounts, the Wreckers are amazingly successful. If it's a lost cause, the Wreckers will be there, winning the day with sheer guts and determination.

Perhaps the most celebrated leader of the Wreckers is Springer, though the memory of his former leader, Impactor, hangs over his head. The team also has vague ties to Ultra Magnus, and its roster often includes the other Triple Changers, the Jumpstarters and the Deluxe Vehicles. The roster of the Wreckers, as noted, is always in flux, and the future will bring leaders such as Apelinq and members outside the usual pool of Autobots, including Maximals, Predacons, and even former Decepticons. But those were pretty weird times.

The initial roster of the Wreckers consisted of Impactor (the leader), Roadbuster, Whirl, Twin-Twist, Topspin and Rack'n'Ruin. They were later joined by Broadside, Sandstorm and Springer (who became the team's leader after Impactor's death). The team were set to be at the business end of Operation: Volcano, killing ten of the most deadly Decepticons as they converged on a staged conference. However, when Megatron called off the Decepticons' advance (truth be told, he didn't seem to know or care about it), the Wreckers' plans were also cancelled. As was Impactor's life, as one of the Decepticons, Macabre, had stayed behind to kill Emirate Xaaron, and Impactor took the 'bullet' for him. Impactor named Springer his successor as he lay dying. Target: 2006

Later, the team and Ultra Magnus were misled into trying to kill Optimus Prime upon his return to Cybertron. Decepticons had planted misinformation that Prime was in fact a Decepticon made up to look like Prime. Fortunately for the Wreckers' record, Magnus and Xaaron uncovered the truth before anyone could kill the Autobots' Greatest Leader. Distant Thunder! During his stay on Cybertron, Optimus Prime led the Wrecks on a number of fruitful raids on Decepticon fuel stores. Resurrection!

Both Roadbuster and Whirl appear to be absent from the team later on. Roadbuster reappears amongst the Wreckers eventually, but Whirl is never seen again. Time Wars Inferno is later affiliated with the team. Firebug!
After the end of the war, the Maximal High Council called the Wreckers back into service to protect the fragile peace that existed between Maximal and Predacon. The war veteran and gifted engineer Apelinq was assigned to be a squad commander of this new iteration of the legendary Autobot strike force, and several of his former comrades were also drafted. The Wreckers are the Autobots who get called in when the odds of success are nonexistent, but the job needs to be done anyway. Stormbringer issue 2 They've been fighting for a long time, first under Impactor Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 2 and originally with no official acknowledgement that they existed. Zero Point They've have many grand exploits and gained numerous fan-boys along the way, mainly "Fisitron" who writes the Wreckers: Declassified datalogs Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 1 and the odd stories for children.
The Wreckers are an inspiration to the Autobots, heroes of daring exploits who never leave each other behind and always save the day... or so Wreckers: Declassified and the official line would tell them. What only a handful know is the dark reality... like the abuse of prisoners, the deliberate maimings and tortures, the dismissal of the Tyrest Accord Zero Point, or how Impactor was really locked up for murdering a helpless, chained-down Squadron X. As the Autobots are mostly ignorant of that, the Wreckers are heroes for them to believe in. Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 5

Springer became the Wrecker leader after Impactor's arrest. He'd been asked to by the other Wreckers and thought that he could correct their increasingly immoral course; what he didn't know was that the other members were trying to cover up their collusion with Impactor's murders. Zero Point

Assigned to Varas Centralus after the Decepticon infiltration on that planet went to Phase Six, they were pulled out and sent back to Cybertron at the order of Optimus Prime when the Autobot leader suspected that Thunderwing might have been behind the disappearance of the Calabi-Yau. Stormbringer issue 2
The Wreckers arrived just in time to save Nosecone and Afterburner. When Thunderwing popped up again guarding a cave on Corata-Vaz, Optimus Prime sent for the team once again. Spotlight: Cyclonus While they did not succeed in stopping Thunderwing themselves, they managed to survive until he was rendered inert by Jetfire. Spotlight: Sideswipe

Sometime later, some of the Wreckers were captured by the Decepticons. They were rescued by the remaining Wreckers, now led by Kup, Perceptor and Drift, who was acting independently. After this, Kup decided to form a new team that included Wreckers Springer and Roadbuster. Spotlight: Drift

After the great push by Megatron, Kup and Perceptor were made into Wreckers, with Ultra Magnus and Verity Carlo providing them with transport. A few years later, Wrecker reservists Guzzle, Pyro, Rotorstorm and Ironfist were added to the team. Springer was becoming weary of assembling these teams, only to see them blown apart.

The first mission by the new team was to travel to Garrus-9 and bring it back under Autobot control. Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 1 After the arrival of a battered Impactor, however, they discovered that the sociopathic Overlord had seized control of the facility and the whole place had gone mental. A report from Prowl also stated they needed to find "Aequitas". Splitting into two teams, the Wreckers made planetfall Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 2 and soon became separated from each other. Perceptor's team were tasked to find Aequitas, but Springer abruptly changed strategy and split his group into two: one to find the prisoners, the other to "get help" from a maximum security cell. Perceptor's team succeeded—albeit with the loss of Rotorstorm to Overlord—but Springer, Impactor and Twin Twist were captured. Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 3

Topspin willingly sacrificed himself to activate Aequitas, simultaneously killing Twin Twist due to their branched spark. Kup and Guzzle failed to find the help they were looking for, but managed to save Springer and Impactor from death by torture. As Springer's team faced down Overlord himself, the other Wreckers finished their mission by downloading Aequitas's data into Ironfist. Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 4 Perceptor's group then went to aid the others in the battle against Overlord, with Pyro sacrificing himself in the process. Overlord effortlessly defeated most of the remaining Wreckers, but was eventually taken down thanks to Ironfist's connection to Aequitas. Garrus-9 was liberated, and miraculously, no further Wreckers had been killed in the fight with Overlord... though Springer was in a critical condition and Ironfist succumbed to a workplace injury and died on the way home. Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 5
The Wreckers were a band of mercenaries led by Rodimus, who spent their time looting and pillaging the countryside. They approved of Optimus's campaign of conquest, but initially preferred to remain autonomous.

That is, until one fateful day when Optimus hired the Wreckers to fight alongside his Autobots at the battle of Praxus-Delta. The battle was brutal and resulted in every Wrecker except Rodimus meeting the fate of most Wreckers across the multiverse at the hands of the Decepticons. Rodimus impressed Optimus by remaining in the fight regardless, in order to fulfill the contract. Thanks to his efforts the Autobots escaped without further losses, and Optimus was so impressed that he offered Rodimus leadership of the Seekers, which the former Wrecker accepted. Rodimus (SG)

Later, when trying to convince Cliffjumper and Sideswipe to leave the Decepticons and join up with one of his power-grabbing schemes, Rodimus hearkened back to what was likely the Wreckers' old motto, when he told them that they'd have "a whole planet ready to wreck-and-ruin!" Dungeons & Dinobots
They operated from the Omega Sentinel ship Xantium, which was bonded to Impactor Major, apparently the leader of the team.

Never a dull moment when you're a Wrecker.
Fiction
Marvel UK Generation 1 comics

Firebug!
After the team takes major casualties during the Time Wars, the few survivors (Springer, Broadside and Inferno) joined together with other "outsiders"—both Autobot and Decepticon—to form the (aptly named) Survivors.
Rodimus Major was also added to the ranks of the Wreckers in a commanding role. Disclosure
Later on, during Shockwave's reign on Cybertron, the Wreckers whittled down to small but elite task force of Autobots dedicated to keeping the peace wherever (and however) necessary. The Triple Changers left the group and Ultra Magnus stepped in to lead.
This, however, was after Menasor had already wiped out the Omnibots and defeated Defensor. In the battle, both Whirl and Roadbuster were apparently killed before Ultra Magnus took charge and brought Menasor down. War and Peace

They even had their own Decepticon counterparts, the dreaded Squadron X! Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 4 The original leader was Impactor, until he did some minor thing to be incarcerated for. Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 2 Other leaders have included Crest and Hyperion. Bullets

They then proceeded to take Bludgeon's team apart without breaking a sweat. Stormbringer issue 3 Thunderwing was slightly more challenging, but the Wreckers suffered no apparent casualties. Stormbringer issue 4

During the Great War, the Wreckers were a major problem for the Decepticons, operating behind their lines as a commando unit. They operated from the Omega Sentinel ship Xantium, which was bonded to Impactor Major, apparently the leader of the team. The Wreckers, Leadfoot, Roadbuster and Topspin, were a trio of engineering geniuses who came to Earth aboard the Autobot spaceship Xantium. The Wreckers rarely left the secret Autobot launch facility at Cape Canaveral, partially because caring for the ship dominated their time, and partially because they were assholes. The Wreckers helped engineer the Autobots' feigned exile from Earth and assassination by Starscream, and later participated in the battle for Chicago. They proved effective, if vicious, fighters, dismantling their fair share of Decepticons, challenging Shockwave and rescuing Optimus Prime from an embarrassing situation. All three of them would continue fighting and would be among the surviving Autobots, accepting Earth as their true home.Transformers: Dark of the Moon (film)
Optimus Prime hunts for relics in Antarctica and finds himself caught between shifting alliances.

Synopsis
Megatron notes that the second relic is in Antarctica, and Dreadwing volunteers to head there. In the Harbinger, Starscream is about to operate on himself to insert his new T-cog when the ship's computer picks up the fact that the Decepticons are dispatching teams to four locations. At the Autobot base, Bulkhead departs through the GroundBridge. Optimus Prime announces he's heading for the Antarctic, and announces that Ratchet will need backup on his mission—Wheeljack.

Starscream uses a GroundBridge remote control to head to the Antarctic on a hoverscooter. He's quickly spotted by Dreadwing and some Vehicons who knock him off his hoverscooter. Starscream at first mistakes Dreadwing for Skyquake, and soon has some cuffs slapped on him. The group trudges through the snow to where the relic is located, to find it has already been dug out of the ice and is gone. The Vehicons start searching and find vehicle tracks. They're approached by Optimus, who demands the return of the relic, and the standoff quickly turns into a firefight. After Prime takes out two of the Vehicons and scores a hit on Dreadwing, the Decepticon starts breaking out heavier weapons, and proves to be formidable with a sword. They take a dive off a cliff, following which Optimus brings the ice crashing down, burying Dreadwing. With Starscream's help, Optimus takes care of the remaining two Vehicons, and demands Starscream lead him to the relic.

Optimus and Starscream take a long walk through the ice and snow until they finally reach a human base. Optimus radios home and gets Agent Fowler to evacuate the human base so he can safely retrieve the relic. Meanwhile, Dreadwing breaks free of the ice and heads out to find Prime. With the base clear, Optimus and Starscream venture inside to find the relic still frozen in a chunk of ice. They're interrupted by Dreadwing. While Optimus and Dreadwing fight, Starscream sets about liberating the relic, which turns out to be the Apex Armor. Outside, Dreadwing has Optimus on the ropes and is about to strike when Starscream, now wearing the armor, crashes out of the building.

Both Dreadwing and Optimus attack the rogue Decepticon, but he swats them aside, repeatedly. Optimus suggests to Dreadwing that they will need to cooperate to defeat Starscream. While Dreadwing flies around, Optimus slaps a bomb onto Starscream, but the Apex Armor proves invulnerable even to that. Optimus realizes that Starscream still has a vulnerability—his lack of flight. While Optimus keeps Starscream's attention once more, Dreadwing plants explosives on the ground, and just as Starscream works out that the pair are up to something, the bombs detonate. Starscream disappears into a hole blasted in the ice. With no relic left to claim, Dreadwing and Optimus go their separate ways, though Dreadwing swears to terminate Optimus next time.

At the bottom of the ocean below, Starscream walks along, still protected by the Apex Armor.
Notes
Animation and technical errors
* Starscream is missing his manacles during Optimus and Dreadwing's first battle.
*In a couple of shots, the parts hanging out of the Apex Armor's shoulders seem go through its upper torso.

Continuity errors
* The Apex Armor was established in Exiles as a relic of Solus Prime; however, Starscream calls it armor of "Decepticon origin".

Continuity notes
* This episode happens concurrently with the previous episode and, presumably, with the following two.
* Starscream is preparing to install a new T-cog into himself at the beginning of the episode, which he scavenged from his traitorous clone after killing him in "Armada".
* Starscream refers to helping Orion Pax regain his memory, saving Arcee's life and giving information to the Autobots.
* Starscream mistakes Dreadwing for Skyquake, who died in "Masters & Students", and attempted to revive in "Shadowzone".
* Starscream enjoyed killing Cliffjumper and claims he will reunite Dreadwing with his "beloved twin".
* Dreadwing is still mad at Optimus for Skyquake's demise.
* Optimus refers to how he offered Skyquake a chance of redemption, as well as expressing remorse for the Decepticon's demise from "Masters & Students".

Transformers references
* The Apex Armor is a reference to the item of the same name from Generation 1, first introduced with the Commemorative Series reissue of the Powermaster Optimus Prime toy and later appearing in the IDW comics.
* This isn't the first time Starscream has visited a research base in the Antarctic, and been at the center of it exploding.
* Among the tools Starscream tries to operate on himself with are a durabyllium drill and a laser scalpel.

Real-world references
* People actually do put flags around archaeological sites in desolate wastelands, in order to find them again.

Trivia
* Optimus still hasn't gotten Raf that snowball he promised to give him the other day.
* This is the first episode in which Arcee does not make an appearance.
* Dreadwing reveals that he has a sword. While his gun has a bayonet that is very similar to his various toys' swords, this is the first time in-series he has ever used an independent sword.
