Hey, I noticed you've been doing a great job on the Henkei fiction articles, and wondered if you would be interested in helping get the Alternity storypages up to snuff. We've got ''From Here to Alternity'' translated, but not much else. I'll have Megatron's pack-in fiction sometime next week when my BBTS shipment arrives, so I'm willing to provide scans if you need them. Ideally, we'd like a translation to stick in the /src part of the article like we did for ''From Here to Alternity'', and I'd love your advice on how best to write up articles on such short snippets of fiction as we're getting here.--[[User:Rosicrucian|Rosicrucian]][[User Talk:Rosicrucian|Talk]] 13:30, 4 July 2009 (EDT)
On the fiction articles themselves for ''From Here to Alternity'' and ''Arch-Nemesis!'', the only thing I can suggest is just a simple summary with whatever notes/TF references present, kinda like how I wrote up for the Henkei pack-in comics. --[[User:Lonegamer78|Lonegamer78]] 14:49, 4 July 2009 (EDT)
== Chinese name ==

Hello. ;-D Actually, according to what I learned from the University, the spell of Chinese words differs from region. Taiwan uses <s>Han-yue Pin-yin</s> Romanization, which contains macrons and dash; while China uses <s>Romanization</s> Hanyü Pinyin, which doesn't include macrons and dash most time.

For example:

*火車 (Train)
**Taiwan - Huǒ-chē
**China - Huoche

*七 (Seven)
**Taiwan - Chi
**China - Qi

--'''[[User:TX55|<span style= "color:#00FA9A">TX55</span>]]'''<small>''[[User talk:TX55|<span style= "color:#0000CD">TALK</span>]]''</small> 08:18, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

:Interesting. When I took Chinese during high school, we simply used Pinyin. I would like to leave the macrons and dashes in, if only for sake of posterity on pronunciation - heavens know how many ways it can be butchered. :) I grew up learning zhuyin, so it's a bit of a leap on me on using pinyin. --[[User:Lonegamer78|Lonegamer78]] 08:52, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

OOps, a BIG oops, I wrote the name opposite, it always confuse people, because Taipei City use Hanyue, while other areas remain using Romanization. Jesus, I even leave a wrong note in the edit summary. <small>I feel so guilty...</small>

Back to the topic, as far as I know, there are at least three kind of spelling for the Chinese (more precisely, Mandarin) pronunciation: Two for Romanization and one for Hanyü Pinyin (or simply Pinyin).

For example
*至(ㄓˋ)
**Romanization (1) - Jr
**Romanization (2) - Chìh
**Hanyü Pinyin - Zhi

Honestly, the English spell for Mandarin is truly complicate, I still need to look up the spelling table to make sure the spell is right or not sometimes.

Actually, I'm amazed that there are people teach Jù-yīn/Zhuyin outside Taiwan ;-D, since it's mainly used in Taiwan. I've mentioned it to my several Chinese friends from South East Asian, Hong Kong, and China, nearly all of them did not know Jù-yīn/Zhuyin pronunciation. --'''[[User:TX55|<span style= "color:#00FA9A">TX55</span>]]'''<small>''[[User talk:TX55|<span style= "color:#0000CD">TALK</span>]]''</small> 12:07, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
:Well, that's going to be fun. And in comes "clashing of what the editors learned due to different schools". :D I've gotten used to using pinyin, regardless Taiwanese or Mainland Chinese. Oy, I can't imagine when we get the Cantonese names... And I speak the language!
:Saturday morning lessons at a church, much to my annoyance as a kid on preferring the morning cartoons ("Godzilla: The Series" was airing at the time!). I rarely have the opportunity to use either zhuyin or pinyin, though. --[[User:Lonegamer78|Lonegamer78]] 14:59, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

::::Speaking of Cantonese name, though I can't speak Cantonese except for several common words learned from my friends or films, I know the English spelling for Cantonese is complicate, too. (At least I know there are two types of the English spelling.)
::::As for the meaning of the Chinese name, Megs' Cantonese name isn't weird enough since it is a vocal translation. The real "weird names" are those such as Optimus Prime, Meg, or Ultra Magnus' Chinese name in China (most of the people can't understand how the name came from), which is so weird that even some fans in China say they rather use nicknames or fan-made Chinese names rather than the official names. --'''[[User:TX55|<span style= "color:#00FA9A">TX55</span>]]'''<small>''[[User talk:TX55|<span style= "color:#0000CD">TALK</span>]]''</small> 04:25, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
::WOOT! I got it! I finally figured out how to add the video to my playlist so I could read the description. Much to my great joy, said description indicated the video could be found at gameads.gamepressure.com. The funny thing is, I could have had this much sooner had I thought to Google how to run Javascript from a web browser. I failed in getting it work earlier, and thought the structure of YouTube's commands was to blame. Thank you for trying to help me out earlier.
::In case it might be helpful to you, here's the command (and prefix for the browser to see it as Javascript) for adding a video to your playlist:

::<nowiki> Javascript:yt.www.watch.playlists.add('yr5UtgsUK9Y');</nowiki>

::This needs to be run when you're at the page for an active video. After you run the command, you still pick the playlist and click 'Add' as normal. And obviously you'll want to substitute in the video ID of the deleted video. The one drawback is that seeing who uploaded the video is only possible by going to the URL of the playlist (None of the views through your account will show that info for some reason). --[[User:Tigerpaw28|Tigerpaw28]] 02:02, 5 February 2010 (EST)
::::Certainly.
::::Step 1: Log into your account. (Probably didn't need to mentioned but just so we're clear about the pre-existing conditions)
::::Step 2: Go to an active video. So for instance, you could go [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Crn_8VIxaOk here.]
::::Step 3: In the address bar of your browser, type or copy and paste <nowiki> "Javascript:yt.www.watch.playlists.add('NRWOJWKYrLg');"</nowiki> minus the double quotes. The text inside the single quotes is the ID of the deleted video. The ID of a YouTube video is the sequence of characters following 'v=' but before an ampersand (if present) in a YouTube URL. So if the URL is <nowiki>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Crn_8VIxaOk&feature=PlayList</nowiki> then the video ID would be Crn_8VIxaOk. For the example in the double quotes I used the ID of a deleted Transformers commercial.
::::Step 4: Look at the grey box area underneath the video where the 'Add to Favorites' and 'Add to Playlist' are found. You will see that a drop down box has appeared allowing you to choose one of your playlists to add the deleted video to, same as if the video wasn't deleted and you clicked 'Add to Playlist' while looking at the video. Note that nothing on the page will change other than the drop down box and 'Add' button appearing. Choose your playlist (or '[New Playlist]' if you don't already have one) and click the Add button.
::::Step 5: The video is now in your playlist. To get the URL for your playlist, look at your playlist(s) through your account options (hover over your name in the upper right hand corner of a YouTube page and select the 'Playlist' option or go to <nowiki>www.youtube.com/my_playlists</nowiki>), click on the name of list you added to in the left hand column and click on 'Edit Playlist Info'. The 'Link' field is the URL for your playlist. Go to that URL and you can see the info for the deleted video.
::::Is this a little clearer, I hope? Let me know if any of the terminology is unfamiliar or if I need to go into more detail on something. --[[User:Tigerpaw28|Tigerpaw28]] 12:16, 5 February 2010 (EST)
On a related note, I found a way to download the "Army" spot from MySpace so I can pass it along as well if you want. I think I tried to get #9 and unknowingly grabbed the wrong video as I ended up with two copies of #12 for some reason. Could be another opportunity to get it from iklipz since the server is responding again after being down the past 3-4+ days. Though it's not returning any actual pages, it is returning XML parsing errors and blank pages. So we have that going for us. Which is nice. And I did recently look back at that discussion about the Shrek trailer. I got in touch with the guy who recorded that and he told me that he didn't think he had the recording anymore. ==That Energon comic by Tsushima==

I remember some while back on the AllSpark you posted an image of an Energon/Superlink comic by Naoto Tsushima. I think it came in a model kit or something like that? Do you have any more info on that, even if it's just a title, we could add it to the [[Manga]] article listings for completion's sake (there are a few manga we don't have much info on, like whatever that Tondemo thing is and the Mystery of Convoy one just links to the game). --[[User:DrSpengler|DrSpengler]] 18:20, 30 August 2010 (EDT)

I may be misremebering, but didn't you say some while back that Hydra gave you the titles to the last two chapters of the Beast Wars Reborn text stories (the ones he hadn't translated yet)? If so, could you add them to the main franchise page, or if it isn't too much, just build some stubs so we can include the Japanese and roomaji? Or, if you're busy, you can throw em my way and I'll toss em up.
Unfortunately, the Trivia section note about Takagi's ingrained reaction to Starscream's name doesn't cite the source of the interview in which he said it. It says the interview was published about the time the show started airing in Japan, but doesn't even specify in which media (print, TV, radio, online). My Google-fu fails me in both Japanese and English so far. I've left a question about it on the Talk page for the article, but I'm not sure if I'll get a response.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 01:22, 23 October 2010 (EDT)
Good lord, is that some Doug Dlin I see? Assuming it is, I have a question in relation to a G1 Springer note from the Antarctic Press Cybertronian guides. There's a quote about the final toy being the fourth (or maybe third, I can't recall offhand) design. I was just curious if this originated from Transformers Generations or some other source. Thanks in advance.--[[User:MCRG|MCRG]] 10:46, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
:::I don't deny either fact. ::::I think we should make American English the standard here. Not that I would get all pissy about English English being used, nor would I bother making changes, but if someone were to make changes, it should be towards American English. And if someone does make those changes towards American English, it shouldn't be a problem.
We appear to have stylistic differences about comma usage. I suggest we try to respect each other's usage. Or, we could duel to the death, like our ancestors before us... [[User:JW|JW]] 16:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
:The rule of thumb I learned, at least for commas between clauses linked by a conjunction, is that if the remainder of the sentence after the conjunction can stand alone as a full sentence (that is, if it's an independent clause), you use a comma. There are exceptions, of course.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 16:22, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
::There are rules, and there is style. In the example from [[Survival of the Fittest]], I think

::"The episode ends before Bulkhead, Prowl, and Fanzone return Sari to her father, and before the Autobots report back in to Prime."

::"The episode ends before Bulkhead, Prowl, and Fanzone return Sari to her father and before the Autobots report back in to Prime."

::With the comma, the sentence is less run-on, and the separation of the two events is maintained. No comma is ''required'' there, but it isn't ''prohibited'' either. So, I ask that you respect my choices. The alternative is that we initiate a discussion on the Style Guide page, and I really think this is too picayune to warrant that. [[User:JW|JW]] 16:41, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

:::That's a borderline case, true, mainly because of the phrase including "and" within the dominant clause which could potentially involve confusion with the clause-linking "and", as you note. With all the comma misuse pervading the contributions here, I sometimes get carried away; normally, I'd have let that go. I think you'll find that, on the whole, I haven't really dogged your contributions that badly...have I?--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 18:15, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Yesterday, however, [http://transformers.wikia.com/index.php?title=Mayhem_Attack_Squad&diff=168852&oldid=168845 this edit] raised my eyebrow, and when something similar happened again today, the beast within me was stirred to <strike>frenzy</strike> comment. [[User:JW|JW]] 18:27, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
::::: Yeah,that edit doesn't really make any sense. [[User:Rhinox555|Decepticon Rhinox]] 18:51, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
::::::Seems fairly straightforward to me. There was no reason to set apart the phrase "and sent them to Earth in a Decepticon ship" by commas. The carryover phrase-starter "with" negates the need for a comma after "teamed up on Earth". Using a comma between "embedded his hand" and "cannon-blasted Venom" implies that a third action by Galvatron is coming in the list, when in fact the rest of the sentence shifts away from him, so it's better to link the two actions with a conjunction as a two-item list. "Once on Earth" and "With the Time Wars over" are establishing prepositional phrases, which are generally set apart by commas. "The battle escalated" is a dominant clause preceding a subordinate clause and doesn't take a comma. If the sentence were reversed, with the subordinate "as more and more Autobots" phrase first, it would take a comma. Or so are the rules as I have learned them.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 20:59, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey, again. Is "A Dream Is Born, Double Prime" a good translation of 夢のダブルコンボイ誕生? TX55 snuck in "The Birth of the Fantastic Double Convoy" as a more "proper translation". (It seems to me that it's "Birth of the Dream of Double Prime", but I'd prefer to run it by you first.) —[[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 18:41, 28 December 2008 (EST)
:TX55's version is actually more correct. "Dream" modifies "Double Convoy" in this sentence, so it's literally "the Double Convoy of dreams" or "the dreamed-of Double Convoy." TX55's phrasing represents a good interpretation, though it's possible to substitute "Prime" for "Convoy" depending on our standards for that sort of thing. Otherwise, I'd phrase it "Birth of the Fantastic Double Convoy", just knocking off the initial "The".--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 18:50, 28 December 2008 (EST)
::Mind you I won't directly go against this if you feel this is better, but in the few years I've been learning Japanese I've never seen Yume used as anything but "dream"... As silly as it'd sound, wouldn't "Birth of the dreamy Double Convoy" or somesuch turn of phrase be better? Or perhaps "Birth of the dream's Double Convoy"? --[[User:Detour|Detour]] 19:00, 28 December 2008 (EST)
:::That's more literal, but it doesn't flow in English. There's a phrase I've seen several times in anime titles and theme songs: 夢色, "yume-iro". It literally means "dream-colored", but translating it like that doesn't sound normal in English at all. It translates more like "dream-like" or "fantastic", with the proper phrasing depending far more on context than literal meaning. If we really want to include the word "dream" in the title, then "A Dream is Born: Double Prime/Convoy" would be the closest interpretation, but TX55's is still reasonable while flowing better in English.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 19:13, 28 December 2008 (EST)
What's the exact difference between 演出 and 監督? ''Enshutsu'' I see in the ending credits, while ''kantoku'' I see in the opening. Enshutsu meaning director/producer over that particular episode, whereas kantoku would be director over the overall series? --[[User:Lonegamer78|Lonegamer78]] 19:34, 27 April 2009 (EDT)
:No need to beat yourself up about it; I've been vague on the distinction myself. Checking Wikipedia Japan, at least in terms of theater, 演出(家) is like a stage director and (舞台)監督 like a stage manager. Once a performance actually begins, the stage manager sort of inherits/takes over the stage director's work. For the duration of the performance, s/he takes on the responsibility for maintaining the progress of the concepts and the play that the stage director provided.
:In TV animation, the 演出 can also be credited as 監督, as well as ディレクター or アニメーション・ディレクター, so that's not much help.
:An 演出's role in animation is like that of a film director, giving direction and supervision when the screenplay is converted into imagery. First, the 演出 digests the screenplay, dramatizing it if necessary, and then the storyboards are made based on the script. Even if there's a separate storyboard manager, it's normal for the 演出's intentions (and here the article switches to calling the job 監督) to come through strongly.
:Confusing the issue a bit further, there's a 作画監督 (Drawing/Art Supervisor?) who does the character designs and layout settings when there aren't specific, separate people there for the jobs, and the 美術監督 (Art Director), who does the art settings. The Drawing/Art Supervisor is responsible for the production of original art and animation, while the Art Director is responsible for the production of backgrounds. After that, as the production progresses through filming, special effects, sound recording and editing, the 演出(家) takes responsibility for the completion of those steps. In particular, (s)he takes an involved role in the editing and sound recording steps.
:For maintaining uniform quality on a TV series, you have チーフディレクター, シリーズディレクター and 総監督 (General Supervisor?), which has ''also'' come to be called just 監督 in recent years.
:So, uh...I'm not sure if that gives you what you need to know or not.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 23:52, 27 April 2009 (EDT)
::Urk. *goes crossed-eye* Well, that sorta clears things up a bit... Manabu Ono is credited as 監督 in the opening credits for GF, while 演出 is shown alongside 脚本 and changes every episode in the ending credits — 武山 篤 is 演出 in episode 50 for example. Same applies in CR with Osamu Sekita as 監督 — 筒井義明 and 加藤 顕 as 演出 in episode 1 and then 関田 修 as 演出 for the clip episodes. So, you could see my confusion in the first place. At least I have a better idea now. サンキュー, 先輩. --[[User:Lonegamer78|Lonegamer78]] 00:33, 28 April 2009 (EDT)
:::In that case, it sounds like the titles are definitely reversed from the typical setup mentioned above, with one Supervising Director for the whole series and individual Directors/Producers for the episodes. Hurray for inconsistency.
Weirder still, his name is spelled out te-ra-soo, rather than te-ra-za-u-raa (the standard katakana for his Japanese name) which further makes it seem like they're talking about the US guy.
:The section says it's using data from the foreign (that is, U.S.) versions, so I don't know where they're getting the name and info they have for Lazorbeak. As for the name, extrapolating a little, one could actually say they're calling him "Terrorsaw", as the name ends with the same kana as "Buzzsaw" does. That would be a similar homage to "Lazorbeak", as well as an added layer of wordplay to "Terrorsaur".
Claw Jaw's essentially the same, except it specifies that he drags his enemies deep underwater and finishes them off. ::I think the Terrorsaur/Lazorbeak thing is definitely worth a footnote on their respective pages, but I'm not 100% clear on the details the bio is actually presenting. Would you be willing to do up a... "According to the foreign toys section of the Japanese ''Beast Wars Koushiki Guidebook'', Lazorbeak is really such-and-such"-type write-up for them? Or to perhaps do a fuller translation of the text in the future so that I might do it myself? --[[User:Monzo|Monzo]] 22:52, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

:::''That's not a bad thought, but since Retrax and Claw Jaw's names are unchanged, it would seem more likely to me they were just trying to transliterate the English pronounciation of "Terrorsaur"... hard to say for sure, I guess.''
:::But then why would they not simply call him "Lazorbeak" if they're otherwise leaving the U.S.-market names unchanged?
:::Anyway, looking over all the pages, there's definitely some deviation from the U.S. material here and there, though it's mostly pretty faithful. I've started [[User:Apcog/Sandbox|a sandbox page]] for the translation.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 01:04, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
::::Wow... thank you, Doug! I was honestly not expecting you to tackle the whole thing, or tackle it so soon; that was very kind of you.
::::Looking at the translated write-ups, the majority of them seem to be taken verbatim from their Hasbro bios {{m-}} even mentioning specific weapons, like Manterror's ion discs {{m-}} with, like you said, just a few small changes here and there (eg, US-Razorbeast never disobeying Primal, J-Razorbeast being prone to do so). That makes Terrorsaur/Terrorsaurer/Lazorbeak all the more strange!
::::I wonder if perhaps Lazorbeak being an upgraded Terrorsaur was an early Hasbro idea for the toy that was dropped before US release, but still got relayed to the writers of the Koushiki guidebook? Either that, or maybe the people doing the guidebook simply didn't get access to his finalized bio in time and had to make something up... --[[User:Monzo|Monzo]] 02:26, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
:::::Eh, took me about half an hour or so; it wasn't exactly text-heavy.
:::::By the way, why do you keep referring to the guide by the term "Koushiki" instead of the English equivalent? Or has it never been translated for you? ==[GAME] Why Ask Why? Why Say "Tatakai"?==

Doctor Sigma, a Japanese TF fan, recently(ish) sent me this same question. From my research, it seems the name "Transformers Tatakai" originated from this news posting ( http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-tatakai-video-game/699/ ), which states the title was found in the Babbages computer system. A posting on TFormers ( http://tformers.com/article.php?sid=1566&mode=flat ) said the game was mentioned in PlayStation Magazine as coming out in the US, but it doesn't say what title PlayStation Magazine actually used for the game, so we don't know whether or not it was legitimately going to be called "Transformers Tatakai".

Personally, that the original posting stated that the game was going to come out June 3rd in the US when it wasn't released in Japan until October 30th casts a pallor of suspicion over the entire thing for me. But, uh, at least Ichikawa-san will finally get his answer, more-or-less...

(To make this whole exchange less weird: I ran into your old newsgroup post while trying to come up with an answer for Doctor Sigma.) --[[User:Monzo|Monzo]] 13:25, 1 September 2010 (EDT)
== Help with info on G-2 ==
I've been working on making a [[User:Tigerpaw28/Sandbox|page for the Japanese Generation 2 toyline]], since A.)We need it for the Wiki anyway and B)I can't readily find much info on the line so I would guess others are having the same problem. I managed to finally track down some info at Snakas' page which is in Japanese. Google Translate helped, but of course its translations aren't perfect. Would you be able to take a quick look at [http://snakas.web.infoseek.co.jp/generations/gen2/gen2.htm these] [http://snakas.web.infoseek.co.jp/generations/gen2/gobots_jp.htm pages] and see if I'm interpreting the translations correctly? I'm particularly curious about the "Division Seven" of Takara (sounds like it would be roughly equivalent to the US [[Market six]]), Dreadwing's function (Can't quite tell what the non-parentheses part is), and the cardbacks for the Go-Bots (I think it says there were two types of cardbacks?). --[[User:Tigerpaw28|Tigerpaw28]] 00:33, 18 September 2010 (EDT)
:From the first page:

::''Starting in '92, full-blown domestic development resumed for the first time in three years. Sales promo development for this series was conducted by using film animation edited together with the full-CG portions of commercials broadcast in the U.S. as its main visuals. In addition, comics starring the various characters were printed on the reverse side of the instruction sheets for the products in this series, supplementing the story aspect.

::''For the products sold in Japan, they resultantly chose only highly posable items from among the "Transformers Generation 2" product line sold overseas. As toys, these had a high level of completeness, and their prices were set extraordinarily low (for the time), but even so, domestic development of G2 ended after only half a year.

::''Further more, the "Go-Bots" listed at the bottom of the page were not included in the regular lineup, '''but were sold by Takara's affiliate company, Seven.'''

::''The official position listings in the list are written in parentheses, but these are based on the conclusion that the "aliases" given in the character data on the packages are not their normal functions. In fact, there are even products that show "function" and "alias" side by side. '''(Dreadwing's function is "Aerial Bombing Officer", while his alias is "Covert Bombing Specialist".)'''

:From the second page:

::''These are the domestic specs for the "Go-Bots", which were released overseas in 1995. '''They were sold through Takara's Seven division''' in late 1995, but apparently, they were primarily sold through routes that treated them as peg-displayed toys in supermarkets and convenience stores, rather than through the usual toy distribution routes.

::''The packaging was blister card style, as it was overseas. '''The printing on the front was left in English, exactly the same as the overseas product, with Japanese-language stickers applied on some portions. However, the card backs were entirely new, made for the Japanese market.'''

::''Overseas, each of the six vehicle types had 2-3 color variants sold as different characters, but for the domestic market, they chose three characters, and changes were made to the molds and such.

:I think that covers your initial questions, anyway.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 23:13, 19 September 2010 (EDT)

::Yes, it does! Thank you very much sir. It also prompts a few new ones. Does "sales promo development", refer to commercials or a cartoon? If cartoon, is this suggesting that the G2 cartoon aired in Japan? If it refers to Japanese commercials, why haven't they surfaced so far?
*大宇宙の探求者 — either "Exploration of the Universe" or "Explorers of the Universe"
**希望は塵（ごみ）山の中に — "Hope in the Junk Mountains"
**スクラップ惑星の贈り物 — "Gift of the Scrap Planet"
**悠久の戦い — "Eternal Battle"
**奪われた宝 — "Stolen Treasure"
**永劫の瞬間 — "Moment of Eternity"
**動きだす時 — dunno
**抗う者達 — "Those Who Resist"

Context, if you need it, is at the [http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75565 Allspark thread]. Thank you in advance! [[User:Interrobang|—Interrobang]] 20:31, 25 February 2011 (EST)
:大宇宙の探求者 = "Explorers of the Universe" The final kanji indicates it's referring to a person or people, as you see in the last title.
:動きだす時 = "Time Starts to Move"
:Everything else looks good.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 21:14, 25 February 2011 (EST)
Another set of titles, this time the "Asterisc {{sic}} Story".
*猫と勲童 ("Cat and Meritorious Deed (involving a) Child") [http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/TF/bt/bta-01.html]
*?い景色教えます (I can't find the first kanji for this one.) [http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/TF/bt/bta-02.html]
*世界初!? 災害救助力一 ("World's First!? One-power Disaster Relief") [http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/TF/bt/bta-03.html]
Any suggestions for how to phrase the first title in English? You can zoom in if the Kanji isn't clear. [[User:Interrobang|—Interrobang]] 14:39, 3 March 2011 (EST)
: Part one is 猫と勲章 ("The Cat and the Medal") Note the difference at the bottom of the third kanji.
: Part two is 良い景色教えます ("I'll Show You Some Great Scenery")
: Part three would be "The World's First Disaster Relief Car!?"--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 15:47, 3 March 2011 (EST)
Do you, by any chance, have the kana for the original title of "[[The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!]]"? [[User:Interrobang|—Interrobang]] 14:32, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
:I'll have to see if it's on one of my old backup CDs. I originally got the images from Jason at CosmicRust.com, but I don't know if I saved them, and the site's been defunct for a while. Internet Wayback didn't preserve images on the Micromaster story page, either. I've tried doing some searches in Japanese, but without knowing the exact words I need (besides ランドクロス and マイクロマスター), I'm not getting any useful results.
:I suspect it's something like "ランドクロスの合体陣の脅威", but I don't want to provide an inaccurate guess.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 15:05, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
::Ah-ha! Found it! "ランドクロス脅威の合体フォーメーション！" Can't believe I actually had the sense to hang on to that file...--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 00:03, 11 April 2011 (EDT)
==Fumihiko==
Hey, Doug? Do you have an email for Fumihiko that's newer than his "@tmd.ac.jp" one? I tried writing to him to see if he's okay, given the recent events in Japan, but it bounced. --[[User:Monzo|Monzo]] 22:20, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
:I've been in touch with him, and he's okay, thankfully. As of Monday (our time), he and his wife were stuck at his office, since the trains were down, but they were unhurt and had food, power and shelter, at least.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 00:59, 15 March 2011 (EDT)
::re: your message on my talk page, I, uh, don't actually remember what your email address is. Mine hasn't changed, though! --[[User:Monzo|Monzo]] 09:09, 9 April 2011 (EDT)
:::Er, I don't recall yours offhand either. Guess I can check your posts on Google Groups, if nothing else. At any rate, I heard from Fumihiko twice in the first week after the tsunami, but not since.--[[User:Apcog|Apcog]] 14:19, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
==G1 GoBots==
Doug, I seem to remember an ATT posting by you that discussed Ichikawa's involvement in the decos of the G1 GoBots. However, so far I have been unable to dig it up. Can you recall the specifics, or perhaps write to him about them? I'd like to either remove the speculation on [[Small_Foot#Notes|these]] [[Road_Ranger#Notes|pages]] about the Ladybird connection or get it confirmed (though as to the latter I'd be more likely expect you to confirm, I don't know, that you're really some kind of ambulatory credenza.) --[[User:Monzo|Monzo]] 07:12, 15 August 2011 (EDT)
