What [[Blot (G1)|Blot]] does through carelessness, '''Snapdragon''' does with deliberation. He loves nothing more than bathing in putrid grease pits or, if those aren't available, the running fuel from his victims' corpses. His bouts of animalistic fury and sheer love of destruction would make him an excellent warrior if not for the fact that he's also as lazy as the [[Empties]] in [[Dead End (place)|Dead End]]. His personal quarters are littered with alarm clocks shot to fragments by laser fire because Snapdragon just wasn't motivated to kill and maim that morning. His fellow Decepticons know they risk suffering a similar fate if they try to wake him, but often risk it in the hopes of channeling Snapdragon's rage towards the Autobots. Woe to the Autobot warrior who faces Snapdragon without his beauty rest. However, his lazy and appalling personal habits make him unwelcome among his fellow Decepticons, except for the equally thuggish [[Apeface]].

Snapdragon was one of the newly recruited Decepticon animals who attacked [[Autobot City]] as a diversion, so that the [[Clone (subgroup)|Clones]] could steal the Key to the [[Plasma Energy Chamber]]. After a quick game of "kick the can" with [[Freeway (G1)|Freeway]], Snapdragon retreated and joined [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]]'s unit in journeying to the Chamber, and then tracking the Autobots who recovered the Key to [[Nebulos]]. Snapdragon and Apeface were loyal followers of Scorponok on the planet [[Master (planet)|Master]]. Before the Headmasters of Evil abandoned Master to join the Decepticons, the duo were captured and banished into the depths of space by [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress]] and his allies for their crimes. Sometime later, they were found and contacted by [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], who brought them into the Decepticon ranks. Snapdragon and Apeface accompanied "[[Sixshot|Galvatron]]" to [[Shangri-La Island]] for the peace talks with [[Spike Witwicky (G1)|Spike Witwicky]]. Fighting broke out after the Autobots traveling with Spike learned Galvatron was a fake, and the Decepticons were planning to attack other energy storages in the universe. {{storylink|Daniel Faces His Biggest Crisis Ever!!}}

Snapdragon and Apeface joined Galvatron on his trek throughout the universe for more energy and quickly became his favorite warriors. As the Decepticons returned to Earth, Snapdragon and Apeface began working for Sixshot on Earth. The duo fought the [[Monsterbot]] named [[Doublecross]], although he was almost too busy arguing with himself to notice. Snapdragon was a Triple Changer working for [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]] on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] when their chief opponents, [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]] and his band, suddenly vanished off the face of the planet. They eventually found their enemies when Lord [[Zarak (Nebulan)|Zarak]] of [[Nebulos]] sent a [[subspace]] comm message to Cybertron, asking for help in ridding his world of the Autobots. Snapdragon and the others arrived on Nebulos, ready to destroy their enemies and plunder the planet for resources, taking Zarak and his band of followers prisoner in the process. After Fortress Maximus and his fellow warriors drove off Scorponok's crew with their new [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmaster]] powers, Scorponok arranged a deal with Zarak to binary bond his warriors with the captive Nebulans. Snapdragon served under Scorponok during his command on Earth. When he was transported to Cybertron along with almost every other Transformer, he managed to survive the epic battle against [[Unicron]] and went on to serve under [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]].

On Cybertron, the [[Autobot]]s have just successfully activated [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]]'s new power core, which should be able to triple the planet’s energy reserves. A short distance away in their ship, the Quintessons watch, disgusted by the success and progress of their creations. One Quintesson unveils a plan to release the [[Dweller]], one of the early biomechanical experiments called [[Trans-Organics]] that were developed by the Quintessons that predate the creation of the Transformers. Unable to even perform rudimentary assignments, the Trans-Organics were unstable monsters that were eventually sealed away in a hibernation chamber deep within Cybertron.

On [[Chaar]], [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] is lamenting his [[Decepticon]] troops' incompetence when the Quintessons beam down to talk. The Quintessons inform Galvatron about the Autobots' new power core but purposely give him the wrong location. Galvatron, [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] and the [[Sweeps]] arrive on Cybertron, and break into the tunnel that leads below, soon pursued by [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]], [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]], [[Kup (G1)|Kup]], [[Springer (G1)|Springer]], and [[Wreck-Gar (G1)|Wreck-Gar]]. The Decepticons uncover the storage chamber of the Trans-Organics, and accidentally release them from their stasis pods. The creatures soon attack both the Decepticons and the Autobots. In trying to escape, the Decepticons open another chamber and release the most powerful of the monstrous experiments: The Dweller, a giant energy leech that drains their energy and turns the Transformers into [[energy vampire]]s. Running and fighting through the maze of chambers and tunnels in the dark depths of Cybertron, The Dweller quickly whittles down the Decepticon and the Autobot forces, leaving only Galvatron, Ultra Magnus, and Arcee to escape. Of course, many of the Decepticon losses can be attributed to Galvatron throwing his own soldiers at the Dweller to buy himself time.

The two Autobots make it back to headquarters where they update [[Rodimus Prime (G1)|Rodimus Prime]] and Perceptor on the situation, the energy vampires bursting in right behind them. Perceptor determines that the vampires are suffering from a unique form of energy depletion and that a power surge should restabilize their levels. The Autobots form a chain with Perceptor at the end, who plugs himself into the console and they inject the crowd of vampire with an [[Energon (fuel)|energon]] surge. The surge returns the Autobots and Decepticons to normal. Cyclonus, [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and the other Sweeps quickly escape and rejoin Galvatron.

Meanwhile, The Dweller is breaking free to the surface, getting bigger from its energy absorption, and heading for Perceptor’s generator. Knowing that it will be unstoppable once it has attached itself to the generator, Perceptor uses the emergency eject switch to launch both the generator and The Dweller on top of it into space. Floating far away from Cybertron, The Dweller instead attaches itself to the ship of the Quintessons who started everything in the first place.
