:Astrotrain is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Astrotrain loves to sow confusion. To this end, his Triple Changer abilities serve him well. Nothing pleases him more than confronting an Autobot in a dark corner and making him wonder if he's up against one Decepticon or two. He craves having this power over others. Single-minded, you may say, but when most of your time is spent transporting troops around, you have to take your jollies where you can. He wants more from life, but it's either fly the other Decepticons around, or get scrapped by them.

He also craves having power over a massive army of train drones. Follow your dreams, Astrotrain. Follow your dreams.

Fiction
Cartoon continuity
The Transformers cartoon
:Voice actor: Jack Angel (English), Takurō Kitagawa (Japanese), Jorge García (Latin American)

Astrotrain arrived on Earth during the second year of Megatron's campaign to conquer the planet and its energy resources. His activities prior to that point remain unclear, but he was first seen guarding human slaves in an energy mine following the Decepticon takeover of Central City. When the Autobots returned from a brief exile in space, Astrotrain and his comrades were defeated and sent packing. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2

He once transported Megatron to the moon where he and the Decepticons' leader attempted to jam Earth's radio waves. The attempt was interrupted by the arrival of Omega Supreme, Spike, Carly, and Optimus Prime. Astrotrain engaged in a bad pun, accused Omega Supreme of being too outdated to catch him, and then was the victim of a Cybertronian's impression of a sandworm (see image) before being thrown a few planetary diameters. Blaster Blues

Typically one of the more easy-going among the Decepticons, even Astrotrain isn't above letting a little power go to his head. While tracking Cosmos, he shot down the Autobot, who had been on a fuel scouting mission, and managed to trick the people of Titan into believing that he was one of their Sky Gods, so that they would mine energy crystals for him and the Decepticons. Astrotrain used Jero, a corrupt High Priest who was as fanatical as he was ruthless, to further his ends. However, the Autobots Jazz and Perceptor arrived aboard Omega Supreme looking for Cosmos. Omega Supreme was virtually out of fuel after the trip, but the Autobots soon managed to refuel him using the energy crystals. Knowing that he, Starscream and Thrust alone couldn't beat Omega Supreme, Astrotrain destroyed the crystals in a fit of pique before flying off, leaving Jero to die like the worm he was. Harsh, Astrotrain, harsh. The God Gambit

Astrotrain was used by Megatron to transport energy rich asteroid ore being mined by the Constructicons in high orbit. Astrotrain maintained his shuttle mode so that Long Haul could load him with cargo. He apparently did not have very keen sensors in that form, as the Autobot Cosmos was able to very clumsily swipe some ore from his open cargo bay, then loudly fell over Astrotrain's side without the Decepticon even reacting. The Secret of Omega Supreme

Astrotrain later transported Ramjet and Dirge to the planet Monacus to check up on Decepticon sympathizer Lord Gyconi. When they learned that Gyconi had captured a number of Autobots and brainwashed them into mindless slaves, the Decepticons tried to stow them aboard Astrotrain to take them back to Megatron. However, their plan was stopped by Smokescreen, Devcon and Slizardo, and the latter two followed Astrotrain into space as he escaped with his comrades. The Gambler

When Deceptitran sent word for assistance in overcoming Tlalakan rebels, Astrotrain transported Megatron and his warriors to that distant world to protect their energon horde. The rebellion gained Transformer aid of their own, though, and Seaspray and friends drove off the Decepticons and led the Tlalakans to freedom. Sea Change

However, the incident on Titan had given Astrotrain a taste of power, and he decided he liked it. With the help of Blitzwing, Astrotrain froze Megatron and Starscream in a sewer system in order to take over the Decepticons. He then created an army of trains to help him rule, thinking it was a good idea. Although he managed to amass a surprisingly large amount of energon cubes, the productive day ended with him flooding the entire city after bursting a water main. Worse, Megatron thawed out. The embarrassment of these incidents forced Astrotrain to creep back into the Decepticon ranks quietly... at fusion cannon point. Triple Takeover

Lord Chumley used Astrotrain's likeness as a lure to capture Tracks and Bumblebee. Megatron later sent the real Astrotrain (as well as Blitzwing) to go negotiate with Chumley so they could team up to annihilate the Autobots. The Triple Changers arrived in time to see Optimus refuse to rescue a distressed young woman. Astrotrain was curious, but Blitzwing fell for the ruse and got stuck, so Astrotrain was left with no other option but going to the castle to free him. On his way there, Astrotrain found Chumley using a robotic scorpion to fight Optimus Prime, and proposed Megatron's deal. Chumley responded by flinging the Decepticon away, hanging him up to the walls, and defusing his weapons. Astrotrain was frustrated and explained himself, but Chumley rejected the notion and claimed he'd rather have the help of an aardvark. But as Prime inched closer, Chumley panicked and freed the Decepticons, who promptly made their getaway. He learned that day, to never trust Decepticons. Prime Target (episode)

Megatron dispatched Astrotrain, Starscream, Ramjet, and Rumble in order to catch the Female Autobots, making up for Shockwave's failure. Running into their leader, Elita One, Astrotrain and Ramjet grabbed her and took her prisoner. When Optimus Prime arrived to rescue Elita, she kicked Astrotrain in the face, forcing him to lose his grip. He recovered and was able to celebrate Prime's apparent disintegration, later got zapped by the duo of sweethearts Inferno and Firestar, and in shuttle mode he transported the retreating Decepticons away. The Search for Alpha Trion Megatron's next mission for Astrotrain was to go with Thrust and Ramjet to salvage Dirge and his cargo, who crashed in a swamp near a movie set. When they arrived, Astrotrain deployed a pair of claws to haul Dirge back, while a nearby director filmed them. Once they returned to headquarters, Astrotrain informed Megatron of the film crew that was watching them as they carted the device, and the enraged Megatron set out to destroy the film. Hoist Goes Hollywood

Astrotrain transported Megatron, Starscream and Rumble to the lost Autobot colony of Antilla, where they discovered the entire civilization had been wiped out by the deadly Cosmic Rust. Not heeding a holographic warning from the Autobots, Megatron ventured further into the colony and seized an advanced heat ray weapon from its storage chamber. As they left Antilla, a Cosmic Rust spore-filled asteroid appeared to chase after Astrotrain, prompting Megatron to test out of the power of the 'Lightning Bug' weapon on the space rock. The blast obliterated the asteroid, but the shrapnel from the explosion pierced Astrotrain's hull and punctured Megatron's chest plate, infecting him with Cosmic Rust. Oddly enough, Astrotrain was never infected. Cosmic Rust (episode)

Astrotrain witnessed Starscream throw a fit over Megatron's obsession with Shockwave, and was surprised as everyone else when the Seeker shot Megatron in the back. But when Megatron overpowered his subordinate, Astrotrain was disgusted and allowed Starscream to be humiliated. He was then present for a battle with Starscream's new team of Combaticons, but didn't contribute anything in particular. At the end of the day, Megatron ordered Astrotrain to take the traitorous Starscream and the Combaticons to an asteroid floating through space, where they would be banished forever. Starscream's Brigade Astrotrain could be glimpsed on the simulation of Megatron's orbit disruptor cannon, but did not get to actually see it in person. B.O.T. (episode)

In the year 2005, he transported the Decepticons away after getting their aft-sections handed to them at Autobot City. He couldn't make it back to Cybertron with the amount of weight on board, so they tossed some dead weight overboard. After that, Astrotrain served as the ring for the subsequent fight among the Decepticons to replace the ejected Megatron, where the Constructicons formed Devastator inside him (slag, Astrotrain is big!) and Rumble and Frenzy used their piledrivers (slag, Astrotrain is sturdy!) Apparently, they all made it back fine, and Astrotrain was the one to crown Starscream during his coronation as the new Decepticon leader. The Transformers: The Movie

When the Decepticons lost their hold on Cybertron, Astrotrain went with the rest of them to Chaar, where he was seen trying to deliver Energon cubes to the starving army. When he tried to take a cube for himself while the Constructicons were fighting amongst themselves for the energy, they merged into Devastator and kicked him aside. Devastator was then distracted by Menasor, and Astrotrain made another move for the cube, only to be shot by Cyclonus. Such is life. When Cyclonus insulted the Decepticons for their behavior, Astrotrain somewhat notably mentioned that he knew Galvatron and Megatron "were the same guy". Cyclonus later stated that he needed energon as it was needed to revive Galvatron, and Astrotrain gave him the rest of his supplies. He got an inspirational speech in return. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1

When the Quintessons offered the Decepticons energon, Astrotrain joined his cohorts in the feasting, and when the Quintessons made a proposition, he agreed to go with it and went to battle the Autobots with everyone else. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3 He later participated in a battle in space under unknown circumstances. The Killing Jar

Astrotrain then helped Galvatron and the Predacons with the plan to destroy Cybertron with a death crystal cannon. Chaos (episode) Later on, when intruders found their way inside Trypticon, Astrotrain responded to the alarm but ended up being possessed by Starscream's ghost because of his useful cargo space. Starscream flew his body most of the way to Unicron's head, then left it when he closed in on Cybertron, leaving Astrotrain to be shot down by the Protectobots. Astrotrain was then captured and interrogated by the Autobots, but was as confused as they were about why he had been flying so close to Cybertron all by himself. He was later released as a way of thanking Scourge for revealing Unicron's plans to them. Ghost in the Machine

Later, Astrotrain stumbled upon Sky Lynx in space and battled him until the two were suddenly interrupted by a laser barrage from the nearby Planet of Junk and retreated. Astrotrain returned to Chaar to report this to Galvatron, who punched him in the face, insulted him and stated that he didn't care. The Big Broadcast of 2006 (episode)

Astrotrain was later seen participating in a Decepticon attack on Japan, trying to ram a bullet train head-on, before being driven off by the Aerialbots. The Burden Hardest to Bear
Together, they helped Sixshot distract Ultra Magnus and his warriors from assisting the Autobots' forces on Cybertron. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky The three were later dispatched to protect Trypticon from an attack by the Autobot Triple Changers Springer, Broadside and Sandstorm, unaware that it was just a distraction to allow Twincast to infiltrate the base. The Great Cassette Operation He also served as Galvatron's personal transport to the planet Praum, where the Decepticons had set a trap for the Headmasters. The Four-Million-Year-Old Veil of Mystery He also transported Galvatron and Soundblaster to Earth from Chaar, where they prepared their strike on Cybertron. Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 1 Astrotrain then went into Earth's orbit to help steal the energy-gathering satellite known as Solar 1 The Shadow Emperor, Scorponok, and much later he witnessed Scorponok reveal his gigantic Transtector at Zarak. {{storylink|Explosion on Mars!! Astrotrain was one of Lord Straxus's warriors on Cybertron, operating out of Darkmount in Polyhex. At Megatron's demand, he called a group of Decepticons back from a planned assassination attempt on Emirate Xaaron and the Autobot leaders, leaving all the Decepticons unaware that it was actually a ploy by the Autobots to wipe them out. Target: 2006
Astrotrain and his fellow Triple Changers were commissioned by Ratbat to investigate the loss of his priceless cargo that had arrived on Earth via a low-cost freighter, but hadn't checked in as scheduled. Upon making contact with the crashed ship, Astrotrain and his companions were infected with Scraplets, and began to slowly waste away. Lucky for them, the Autobot Blaster was also infected, and his friends managed to re-discover the strange and wondrous chemical that acted as a cure. In saving Blaster, the Triple Changers were incidentally saved as well. Astrotrain showed quick thinking when he identified a nearby G.B. Blackrock as a useful asset and hypnotically gained control of him, thus ensuring the viability of Ratbat's greatest plan. The Cure!

The Triple Changers then linked up with Shockwave's Decepticons on Earth, which soon fell under the command of their former superior on Cybertron, Ratbat. Astrotrain joined the Decepticons in an assault on the Autobot crews of the Ark and Steelhaven on Earth's moon. Totaled! Sometime later, he fought against his fellow Decepticons when Ratbat and Scorponok's armies temporarily came to blows. Astrotrain was seen rolling over Snapdragon and Weirdwolf in the melee. Cold War! Once the Decepticons united against a nearby Autobot regiment, Astrotrain again saw action when he ionically-disrupted the Aerialbot, Slingshot. In an alternate future of 2006, Astrotrain discovered that the Junkions appeared to all be hypnotized. He flew to Chaar and timidly approached Galvatron with his report. Galvatron angrily hit him into a rock face and declared that he cared nothing about what the Junkions were up to. In an alternate version of 2009, Unicron had destroyed Cybertron and the Decepticons (under Galvatron's command) controlled America. Astrotrain and Octane were seen defending the Decepticon Powerbase from one last, desperate Autobot assault. Astrotrain's carcass lay undiscovered at the bottom of the sea for ten years until Megatron managed to find him. His remains were excavated piece by piece by enslaved humans and transported to Megatron's base of operations within the wrecked Ark in northern Canada. Using incomplete schematics and Megatron's memories of Astrotrain's old body, Astrotrain was finally reconstructed. Astrotrain was immediately put in charge of finding the remnants of the rest of the Decepticons who fell at the hands of the Underbase-powered Starscream, plus the unpleasant task of carting them back to their headquarters. This morbid job took its toll on Astrotrain, who yearned for real battle. Hasbro Transformers Collectors' Club issue 14

After the appearance of the mysterious crossdimensional Decepticon Landquake, Astrotrain and the other rebuilt Decepticons under Megatron's command traveled to South America to investigate an equally mysterious power source that seemed to share traits with Landquake. En route, they were attacked by Walter Barnett's RUNT squad. Crossing Over, Part 2 Astrotrain managed to shake off these interlopers just before Optimus Prime and his Autobots arrived in search of this same power source, and a new battle between the factions began in the jungles surrounding the power source. Crossing Over: Part 3 As the battle escalated, Astrotrain joined with some of his peers in surrounding Mirage and Rodimus, Crossing Over: Part 5 but ultimately, Megatron was forced to call for a withdrawal. Crossing Over: Part 6

Megatron soon granted the mysterious Bug Bite and his rogue group of Decepticons an audience. However, Astrotrain and the other Decepticons under Megatron's command were forcibly implanted with reverse-engineered cerebro-shells. Bug Bite's plan was cut short when a jammer activated by Elita One disabled the shells, and a fight soon erupted between Megatron's Decepticons, Bug Bite's Decepticons, and the Autobots under Ultra Magnus' command. Games of Deception

When Megatron ended the Decepticon Civil War with Bludgeon, Astrotrain was stationed aboard Starscream's warship. He informed his captain when the fortress below began powering down their weapons, thanks to the traitors in Bludgeon's ranks eliminating the Pretender. At Fight's End
When Megatron needed a major distraction to infiltrate the subsectors of Iacon and establish Cybertron as a living war world, he sent Shockwave to command a full frontal assault against the Autobot capital. Astrotrain was among the many Decepticons who aided Shockwave in this siege. The War Within Later on, after Megatron's disappearance led to a factioning of the Decepticon army, Astrotrain began serving with Starscream's Predacons. War Within: The Dark Ages The Predacons remained the only major hold out among the factions when Ultra Magnus negotiated a great peace between the Autobots and Decepticons due to low energon reserves planet-wide. Astrotrain and the Predacons attempted to prevent the peace treaty and the consolidation of their opponents, but their efforts were in vain until the surprise return of Megatron with his new Aerospace Extermination Squadron, thousands of super-charged warriors grown from Quintesson cloning technology. The Decepticons managed to establish an Age of Internment until Optimus Prime finally returned to free the Autobots and equalize the sides once more. War Within: The Age of Wrath

After the disappearance of the Nemesis and its crew, Astrotrain and his fellow future Triple Changers, Octane and Blitzwing, began serving directly under Shockwave's command. Destined for Nothing When Shockwave learned how to perfect his Triple Changer process after the Great Shutdown, due to Unicronian technology he pilfered from Scourge, Astrotrain was one of the first to benefit from the procedure.

In 2003, Astrotrain, along with Broadside, Blitzwing, Sandstorm and Octane arrived with Shockwave on Earth to place the Earth-bound Transformers under arrest for war crimes and take them back to Cybertron. New World Order When Shockwave was eventually defeated and his control of Cybertron lost, Astrotrain and Blitzwing remained his loyal servants until the return of Megatron caused Astrotrain to switch loyalties while Blitzwing was destroyed. Lost and Found (issue)
Astrotrain was part of a Decepticon infiltration cell that had operated covertly on Earth for at least four years, working to destabilize Earth's governing organizations and create global anarchy. Under the command of Starscream, he oversaw the extraction and refinement of the mysterious, Energon-like substance, Ore-13, Infiltration issue 5 but despite having sampled its power, he was unwilling to stand alongside Starscream against Megatron. Infiltration issue 6

After being humiliated in battle with Optimus Prime, Megatron ordered Sixshot to come to Earth several phases before his presence is normally requested. Upon hearing this, the wire in Astrotrain's forehead nearly exploded, but Megatron told him to shut up. Escalation issue 6 Witnessing his leader straying further from protocol every nano-klik but knowing none of them would dare tell Megatron he was wrong, Astrotrain decided to do the unthinkable, something no sane Transformer would ever do except as a very last resort: deliberately reactivate Starscream so he could do it for them. Devastation issue 1

When the alien Reapers suddenly attacked their headquarters, Astrotrain left his post (forcing Blitzwing to cover for him) to plot how to exploit the situation with Starscream (though he was openly concerned if the plan failed they'd be dead). The plan worked: Starscream successfully removed Sixshot from the board and attacked the Reapers, at which point Astrotrain popped up in the command bunker to go "look at how brave Starscream is bravely attacking the Reapers by himself!". Megatron deduced what was going on behind his back, but instead of punishment, led the Decepticons into battle. Devastation issue 5 After the destruction of the Reapers, Astrotrain expressed surprise at their victory and callously declared that the deaths of Runabout and Runamuck were acceptable losses. Devastation issue 6
A year later, the Decepticons on Earth, including Astrotrain, defeated the Autobots on the planet in a mighty battle. All Hail Megatron issue 7 As the Decepticons subsequently began conquering the planet, Astrotrain carried on being by-the-book and tactically minded in the attack on New York City, suggesting they send the Insecticons to handle ground forces to avoid ballistic attacks. All Hail Megatron issue 2
He also took to the subway lines in locomotive form to eradicate the humans hiding in the subway stations. Astrotrain was then tackled into a building by Roadbuster, who commented that the Decepticon was a "lightweight". All Hail Megatron issue 11 Megatron and his army were defeated All Hail Megatron issue 12, and Astrotrain served as their escape vehicle as they fled Earth. All Hail Megatron issue 13
Three years later, Astrotrain was stationed on the desolate asteroid base where Starscream was in charge. He responded to Hot Rod's infiltration of the base, but ended up running straight past the intruder without noticing. Heart Like a Wheel

With the Autobots reduced to a small rag-tag rabble, Astrotrain accompanied Starscream's small strike team to the Pegasus Star Cluster. Astrotrain and Blitzwing both attacked Optimus Prime after the mercenary Mirage destroyed the Autobot bunker's security system, allowing the Decepticons in. Astrotrain avoided death when Mirage forced Prime to lower his weapon in exchange for Jetfire's life. Astrotrain was among the small group of Decepticons serving under Megatron who departed Cybertron in pursuit of the Energon Cube. When the Cube crash-landed on Earth and shattered into fragments, Astrotrain and the other Decepticons took on the forms of local vehicles and machinery to remain hidden while searching for the shards.
Eleven years after the crash of the Cube, when Ramjet and [[Starscream (G1)#Henkei! Henkei! Some time later, Astrotrain joined Starscream and Ramjet in attacking a hydroelectric power plant, and easily fended off the leaderless Autobots who resisted them, as Optimus Prime was incapacitated at the time. Astrotrain took down Bumblebee and [[Mirage (G1)#Henkei! Henkei! When the revived Optimus Prime came speeding onto the scene soon after, Astrotrain quickly took off in a bid for escape, but was struck by a powered-up blast from Prime's ion blaster and disappeared in a colossal explosion. However, he was barely able to make it back to the Decepticons' undersea base to deliver the stolen energon cubes, but was denied any usage by [[Cyclonus (G1)#Henkei! Henkei!
In the Autobot side of the story, Megatron sent Astrotrain to collect the energy they had drained from the hydroelectric power station. When Astrotrain was almost at the generator, he had caught up to a squad of Autobots who had come to stop the Decepticons. Astrotrain got the Autobots attention by blowing his train whistle and approached them in his train form. When he reached the Autobots, he transformed to robot form and announced that all the energy at the power station belonged to the Decepticons. He told the Autobot squad his orders, warned them that he would destroy the Autobots if they got in his way, and threatened to show them the true power of a triple changer. Optimus Prime requested that Astrotrain leave, but the locomotive/space shuttle Transformer brushed this off with a "whatever," and engaged the Autobots. Despite his best efforts, Astrotrain was defeated. Optimus told the triple changer to fly back on his prized wings, back to Megatron. Realizing that he was defeated, Astrotrain decided to retreat, transforming to his space shuttle form and blasted off. He faced off the Autobots once again outside ELTA. Despite having already fought Snapdragon, Apeface, and countless Decepticon foot soldiers in between them all, the Autobots managed to overcome the triple changer once again.

During the Decepticon storyline, Astrotrain was a member of a team that Megatron sent to investigate a mysterious UFO that was spotted in the area of Zel Samine. Something caused the team to lose contact with the main Decepticon forces, and they found out that they could not leave the planet, as Zel's sun, Paradius, emitted electromagnetic rays that was harmful to them. Unable to contact Megatron and with no way to leave the planet safely, Astrotrian and the others scattered across Zel.

The Decepticon forces went to Zel in order to investigate, and Astrotrain found the Decepticons while they were at the hydroelectric power station. He called out to them in his train mode and blew his whistle. He rolled up to them and transformed to robot mode once he was close enough, expressing relief for finding them as his energon supplies had been getting low. When Megatron announced that he was sure Astrotrain would be useful, Astrotrain assured him that he was great in fighting, not just for transporting. The Transformers (PS2)
His robot mode is based heavily upon his Generation 1 cartoon animation model design, and is armed with a large purple laser rifle similar to the original toy's rifle.(The side of the rifle has a Mini-Con shaped port on it, if one chooses to do it) However, purple highlights aside, his deco's color scheme is predominantly based on the original Takara toy.
Notes
* The 1985 catalogs show a prototype Astrotrain toy, whose gray and purple color scheme is the one used in the cartoon. The prototype also has a number of design changes from the retail version: arms that extended on a slide joint, different feet, and a different head sculpt that was the basis for his character model. He was shown with Blitzwing's weapons. Being resin hard copies, these prototypes didn't transform.

* Astrotrain's animation model is rather odd. Despite having the shuttle tailfin rather clearly folded up and slid into place within the torso... it has another mystery tailfin jutting straight out of the back. Huh.

* Speaking of the tailfin, the original box art and instructions depict it as being folded open to make a chestplate shield. The fin gets tucked away early during the transformation to keep it out of the way. However, the original animation model (and thus his other fictional appearances) show it tucked away in robot mode.

* While Astrotrain's original toy had a visor, his Classics toy, and most of his depictions in fiction, give him two eyes instead.

* Astrotrain, along with Cosmos and Omega Supreme, was one of three space-faring characters added to the cartoon in 1985. In addition to the usual voice flanging given to the show's robotic characters, all three had an echoing reverberation applied to their voices, presumably to play up the "outer space" aspect.

*While Astrotrain does not appear in the Stormbringer comic series (due in part to him being on Earth at the time), the trade paperback includes a design sketch for a Triple Changer which appears to be intended as Astrotrain's pre-Earth Cybertronian form.

*In the IDW Generation 1 continuity during Simon Furman and E. J. Su's run, Astrotrain's space shuttle is essentially a far more realistic rendering of a space vehicle, but his third mode has been upgraded to a diesel-electric six-axle locomotive resembling a General Electric U28C model, along with custom features like red and purple headlights and an all-purple paint-job. It also has a Big F**king Gun mounted on the engine cowling. That's badass.

*From All Hail Megatron onward, Astrotrain's design has been reworked to resemble his Classics toy in robot mode, minus some of the train kibble. However, he transforms into a purple D62 steam locomotive once more, like his original toy. There is probably a good reason for that.

*Astrotrain believes that those who worship Transformers are fools. The God Gambit

*Whether or not Astrotrain needed rails to use his train mode varied in the cartoon. In the movie, he used his locomotive form to take a run up for him to take off (in space shuttle mode), but without the aim of rails. However, before that, he has been commanding his train drones and travelling on rails, in "Triple Takeover".
Synopsis
Megatron has raised the Nemesis from its watery grave and has begun a random attack on everything in sight, all the while quoting the Covenant of Primus. After telling Rhinox to "deploy Operation Eternity", Optimus Primal and Tigerhawk attempt to fight it off, but their weapons don't even scratch the hull. Tigerhawk tells Primal to rally the Maximals and that he will remain to fight. On the Nemesis, Dinobot is commenting that his spark has changed and feels complete. Aspects of the original Dinobot begin to emerge. He admires Tigerhawk's defense. Tigerhawk is able to damage power on several decks, limiting Megatron's offensive options to using the fusion cannon, which he uses to destroy Tigerhawk. Going to the Protohuman settlement, Megatron prepares to destroy it. Dinobot objects, asking where the honor is in such an act, but Megatron fires anyway, killing Inferno and Quickstrike in the process.

At Mount St. Hilary, the Maximals are preparing a last-ditch strategy—bring the Ark online and fight the Nemesis. However, the ship has been offline too long, and Rhinox and Blackarachnia are having trouble restoring power. The Nemesis arrives, but Tigerhawk's attack has depleted its energon reserves, and the fusion cannon requires time to recharge. Megatron activates its tractor beam, and Primal enters the Nemesis. He and Megatron duke it out, but the Predacon clearly has the advantage. On the Ark, the Maximals manage to get the engines on line, but they burn out almost instantly. Rattrap proclaims that they are all going to die, and for once, no one tells him to shut up. Instead, the characteristically stoic Rhinox simply responds with "Yup".

However, Dinobot, disapproving of Megatron's actions, sends a message to the Maximals of an Autobot shuttle stored in the Ark. Megatron orders Dinobot to fire, but he refuses, stating that he has his honor. In a last bid to save them all, Rhinox pilots the shuttle on a collision course with the Nemesis bridge, crashing through the viewport and going out the other side. Optimus urges Dinobot to save himself, but he remains with the ship, bidding farewell to Primal. As the Nemesis crashes, Primal rejoins the Maximals.

Some time later, the Maximals, having repaired the shuttle and rigged a transwarp cell to it, leave Earth for Cybertron. Optimus, piloting the ship, declares that the Beast Wars are over, and memorializes the Maximals who fell during the war. Rattrap, however, is more happy to be going home and points out that they won't have to see Megatron 'til they get there, as the Predacon is tied to the hull of their shuttle. As the shuttle enters transwarp, the scene shifts to the Protohumans, who have built a village and are using parts of Inferno and Quickstrike in a ritual to celebrate their new leader...Waspinator.

In the ultimate act of karma, Waspinator declares that he is "happy at last."
"'I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come! And you will know my name is Megatron when I lay my vengeance upon you!'"<br />

"I'll say one thing for my namesake, he liked his artillery big and plentiful. Now, where was I? Ah yes, mindless destruction! Good for the spark I always say."<br />
:-Megatron, commenting on the Nemesis' firepower.

"Quickly, go to your fellow Maximals. Prepare them! If Megatron destroys the Ark and its occupants, history as we know it will unravel."<br />
"You can't stop that thing alone."<br />
"Hmm, I suppose, given my imminent godhood, these primitives should really be beneath my intention. Ah, still, no score is too small to settle, I always say."<br />
Notes
*Kid Rhino's Season 3 box set contains an animatic with additional footage cut out from the final episode (presumably to save time). One of the edits shows Optimus Primal tearing out a transwarp cell from the Nemesiss control deck prior to telling Dinobot II to save himself. The transwarp cell is later seen towards the end of the (finished) episode, installed to the controls of the Autobot shuttle, explaining how the Maximals were able to travel through both space and time and return home.
*In an interview, Furman stated he was approached at BotCon 1998 to write a "G1-centric" episode, and worked closely with Bob Forward on what would become "Nemesis" (they originally weren't sure who'd write which part). Various ideas were pitched, but for reasons of budget and a lack of a fourth season meant everything needed to be wrapped up here; one key decision was to ensure the core cast "got a good send off, one that didn't leave them in limbo". Bob would do most of the Dinobot 2 writing.
*In the early plot of the episode, the Maximals successfully launched the Ark instead of an Autobot shuttle. Also, Dirge, Ramjet and Thrust would be reactivated and ram into the Nemesis instead of the Autobot shuttle. This would have possibly explained where the three Coneheads came from when they suddenly appeared in season two of the original cartoon. This is one of the more popular reasons as to why writer Simon Furman included Dirge as a Herald of Unicron in Worlds Collide.
*It should be noted that had Megatron heeded Dinobot and not turned the fusion cannon on the proto-human colony, he would have most likely won the Beast Wars, by the simple fact that it would have been fully charged by the time the Nemesis reached the Ark (As pointed out by Dinobot, the fusion cannon's reactor was depleted to 65% power when they had arrived) without the Maximals having a chance to prepare in time. In retrospect, this could be why he makes such a big deal about displaying honor later on...
*This appears to be the first time that an Optimus loses a tooth in battle, but it would not be the last
* By the end of the series of the original ten Maximals and Predacons only Optimus, Cheetor, Rattrap, Rhinox, Megatron, and Waspinator survived the Beast Wars. Beast Machines would wipe out several of the Beast Wars survivors leaving Cheetor, Rattrap, and Waspinator as the only ones who managed to survive both series from very beginning to very end.

Technical/animation glitches
*As Tigerhawk is about to be overwhelmed by the fusion cannon, it cuts to a reaction shot by Dinobot, whose "monocle" is on the wrong eye.
*When Optimus returns to the Maximal base and tries to communicate with Tigerhawk, his right wing is missing.
*At one point, Optimus tears his wing off and tosses it to jam the giant grinder mechanisms on the bottom of the Nemesis. However, in the next scene in which he appears, his wing has been replaced with no explanation.
*As the Maximals await their doom inside the Ark and Rattrap comments on how they're "all gonna die", he's missing his robot-mode "backpack".
*Megatron apparently transforms to dragon mode off-screen, transforms back to robot mode on-screen before the scene cuts away, then when next we see him, he is in dragon mode again!
*For most of the episode, Optimus is missing the "blast shields" that he usually wears on either his forearms or shoulders.
*As Optimus enters the Nemesis's Bridge to confront Megatron, he's missing his blast shields, but when Megatron grabs his head, he's is seen with them, what's more strange is that in the next shot they're missing again.
* In the final battle scene, Dinobot is flipped horizontally. (See first glitch.)

Continuity errors
*Although it was cut from the final episode for time, the script called for Generation 1 Megatron's spark to be removed from BW Megatron and placed back in its proper body before the Maximals leave Earth. This very brief scene was animated and can be seen on Beast Wars Season 3 box sets produced by Kid Rhino and Madman Entertainment. It should be noted, however, that despite the cut, Optimus's lines from that segment were still included in the episode, albeit used in a different context.
*In "Other Victories", Megatron is perplexed by the idea of Tarantulas trying to destroy the Ark and Tigerhawk states that doing so would erase those descended from Autobots and Decepticons. So why is Megatron doing it now? Considering his religious babbling, it comes off like he's gone mad and thinks it'll erase everyone but him...
*It seems unlikely that the Maximals would leave a Predacon on Earth, even one as incompetent as Waspinator. It's possible they just didn't know he was still alive, though in the Beast Machines episode "The Catalyst", Blackarachnia remarks that she was aware that they'd left him stranded on prehistoric Earth.
* Why didn't Inferno and Quickstrike just call Megatron on their comm links instead of just standing where Megatron couldn't see them and waving their arms around like idiots ? And why didn't Megatron call back Inferno and Quickstrike as soon as he found the Nemesis ?

Transformers references
*There is the Nemesis itself.
*"In the darkest hour, there will be a light," a line from the Covenant of Primus most likely derived from "Light our darkest hour" in The Transformers: The Movie.
*Speaking of that movie, Primal's declaration of "This has to stop! At any cost" mirrors Optimus Prime's declaration of "Megatron must be stopped! No matter the cost".
*After Dinobot flashes between himself and the original Dinobot, his voice no longer has the electronic effect.

Real-world references
*The lines Megatron reads from the Covenant of Primus bear some similarities to lines from English translations of the Bible of Earth's humans.
*One of Megatron's Convenant of Primus quotes bears stronger resemblance to the paraphrase of Ezekiel 25:17 in the film Pulp Fiction than it does to the original Bible quote.

*As Optimus enters the Nemesis's Bridge to confront Megatron, he's missing his blast shields, but when Megatron grabs his, Optimus is seen with them, what's more strange is that in the next shot they're missing again.

::::Yes, but the wording makes it seem that every thing about Subspace is un-official, when we know that some aspects of it are indeed official.
Also, what about when Transformers materialize things in their hands from thin air with a flash of light? Like in "Plague of Insecticons", Kickback makes a gun appear in his hand with a bright flash of energy. In the season 3 bumpers, Blurr does the same thing with his gun. I'm sure there are other examples. Anyway to explain that away? "Subspace" or thereabouts seems to be the best explanation. --DrSpengler 00:24, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Possible explanation?
I have no reference to back it up, but I am very sure that I read an explanation for the size changing in the Marvel Comics waaay back when. It was in the letters page and someone had asked how Soundwave could be both small enough to be a cassette player and also big enough to hold Megatron as a gun and fire him. The "explanation" given was that they released a "sort of gas" which shrank their molecular structure - totally impossible, obviously. Can anyone back this up? I used to get the comics in the late eighties. 216.239.212.187 07:43, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

:: On a similar note, Shockwave's A-Z bio notes that since he was not granted an Earthen form by the Ark he 'remains in a size consistent with his robot mode', implying that size-changing is exclusive to the Auntie-modified Decepticons such as Megatron et al.

One way that non-Transformer species seem to have influenced Cybertronian culture is the relatively rare occurrence of Transformers wearing clothing.

Capes
From time to time, some high-ranked Cybertronians tend to wear capes. Presumably, they are a symbol of office, as only generals, commanders, and other such leaders have been seen sporting them. Exactly what material these capes are made from is unknown, but one presumes that Earth-style fabrics are likely extremely rare on Cybertron (which could make the capes even more special, considering).

* Generation 1 Optimus Prime and Generation 1 Megatron wore capes while serving as the leaders of the Cybertron Alliance. Prime's was purple (the Decepticon color), while Megatron's was red (the Autobot color). Whether this was a symbol of high office or just a desire to look pretty is unknown.
* Generation 1 Starscream wore a cape, large shoulder pads, and a crown at his coronation as Decepticon leader. The crown alone survived Galvatron's blast, only to be crushed under his feet.
* The Nine Great Demon Generals mostly wore capes (except Trypticon, who wore a Batman-like cowl) in the Zone story pages.
* The members of the Convoy Council wear capes, too.
* Armada Scavenger wore a large, body-obscuring cloak when he first arrived on Earth.
*Tidal Wave, or at least a computer simulation's version of him, wore a cloak to conceal his identity before a battle.Distribution
*Great Convoy is a cape. Seriously.

Trenchcoats
Quite a few characters have been depicted wearing trenchcoats, mostly when involved in detective work or similarly secretive activity.

* Generation 1 Nightbeat is often seen wearing a trenchcoat and fedora, due to their connection with detective fiction. He pulls it off pretty well, actually.
* The Micromaster Air Strike Patrol wore trenchcoats and fedoras while trying to pass as human professional wrestlers. Interestingly enough, these coats somehow obscured large physical protrusions on their bodies (jet intakes, wings, etc.). The Interplanetary Wrestling Championship!

Ponchos
* The Matrix Flame priest wears poncho-style robes.
* The Jointron brothers have been shown wearing ponchos and sombreros, as well as using mariachi-style guitars and maracas. This is both hilarious and racist.
*Transformers Animated Lockdown wore a "Space Poncho" when he showed up on the remains of the Nemesis in reference to the Man With No Name from the spaghetti western A Fistful of Dollars. A Fistful of Energon

Pretenders
* Most of the Pretender toys have clothing molded onto their Pretender shells. Naturally, it's only pretend clothing, being part of the Transformers' shells (which themselves might be considered a form of clothing).
* In the TV commercial for the Pretenders, the human Pretenders can take off these clothes and reveal the muscle of the outer shells.
* In Super-God Masterforce, human Pretenders wear clothes in their everyday lives as normal humans.
* Cloudburst also wears normal clothing in Marvel Comics continuity. Recipe for Disaster!
* In Revenge of the Fallen, the Pretender Alice conceals her lady-bits with clothing. When she transforms into her robot mode, her clothes appear to fold away in the same manner as her simulated skin. She did however show the ability to alter the appearance of her clothing.

*Starscream wore a crown during his coronation in The Transformers: The Movie.
* Cohrada wears his father's hat in Beast Wars Neo manga.
* In the Dreamwave Generation One continuity, Bumblebee wore a removable face-mask that resembled the face of his original toy. The War Within issue 6 He was later shown to have integrated a similar mask into his head proper. Skyfire (issue) Brawn was also shown to wear a removable face-mask that resembled his toy's face. Night of the Combaticons
* During the Dark Ages, Jetfire sported a face-mask resembling his original toy, which was later upgraded into a fully removable helmet that he wore along with detachable armor. Skyfire (issue) He would also wear a helmet (based on that of his Classics toy) during the events of Stormbringer.
* In "Dawn of Future's Past", Rattrap is seen wearing a removable cap-like helmet.
:Leozack is a Decepticon Breastforce Warrior from the Victory portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Leozack (レオザック Reozakku) is the commander of the elite Decepticon Breastforce and notionally Deathsaurus's most trusted warrior...except he really can't be trusted at all. Leozack despises being anything less than the top 'bot and is constantly struggling to have it all—including leadership of the Decepticons. Unlike those that have come before, however, Leozack is smart enough to keep his ambitions hidden from his emperor, preferring to gather the resources and power necessary to fuel his dreams of conquest in secret. The thing is, Deathsaurus is fully aware of Leozack's dreams and schemes, and to say that he doesn't rate Leozack as a threat would be putting it mildly. In Deathsaurus's eyes, Leozack is an overzealous youth with ideas above his station, and while he conceals his awareness of Leozack's treachery from him, he never misses a chance to make his contempt for Leozack well-known. This drives Leozack absolutely crazy, and he often takes irrational risks trying to prove to Deathsaurus that he is a capable warrior.

As a member of the Breastforce, Leozack is partnered with a transforming breastplate which can detach and transform into his Breast Animal partner, the Lionbreast, or the handheld "Leo Cannon". Like his fellow Breastforcers, Leozack also wields an Electromagnetic Nunchaku. Leozack can combine with his fellow Breastforce warriors into Liokaiser, forming the upper torso of the super robot.
Leozack was summoned by Deathsaurus to bolster his forces in preparation for their campaign against the Earth. Leozack was put in charge of the first plan, which involved the Dinoforce attacking the Autobots' base while Leozack himself intended to confront Star Saber. The Dinoforce went about their task and drew Star Saber out, and both Leozack and Deathsaurus, watching the conflict from afar on the Thunder Arrow, were taken aback to see the Autobot leader piloting the V-Star battlecraft, which they had never seen before. Leozack was about to head out to battle Star Saber, but Deathsaurus suggested he hold back and observe this new turn of events instead. Leozack did so, and rather predictably, the Dinoforce were defeated. Sneak Attack! Dinoking

The Thunder Arrow subsequently set down on Earth, and Leozack vowed to end Star Saber's life as a gift to Deathsaurus. He attacked Star Saber when the Autobot leader was bringing his human son Jean to school, putting the whole campus in danger. Leozack grappled with Star Saber, but with his Lionbreast busy fighting Holi, his torso was left unprotected, leaving him open to a damaging slash from Star Saber's Saber Blade, which forced him to retreat. Attack! Leozack

Leozack was soon joined by his Breastforce teammates Drillhorn, Jallguar and Killbison, and together, they arranged an attack on an energy plant in the desert. The Breastforce hid themselves in the sand and watched as the Dinoforce carried out the attack, but when the Autobot Landcross arrived, they emerged to join the battle. Said battle didn't last long, as Star Saber soon arrived as well, and Leozack fled when confronted by the two giants. Unite!! Multiforce

With his next plan, Leozack began showing his true colors. Recruiting the Dinoforce to help him, Leozack had them attack the Ocean Exhibition amusement park, with the intention of turning it into a personal base for himself. He even revealed his ambition to overthrow Deathsaurus to Gōryū, and while the Dinoforce leader was not particularly impressed, he decided to go along with the stunt anyway. Unsurprisingly, the Autobots soon arrived, and Leozack was defeated by Star Saber, after which he attempted to bluff his way out of trouble by telling Deathsaurus that he had intended to turn the park into a seawater energy conversion plant. Move Out! Rescue Team

After leading an infiltration of the Neo Uranium Mines Infiltration... The Uranium Mine and helping to gather energy in the Amazon, Explosion!! The Energy Base Leozack joined the other Decepticons in stealing energy from an American subway system. The plan was Deathsaurus's own, and Leozack advocated caution, but when Deathsaurus embarrassed him into silence in front of the other Decepticons, he was left in a bad mood for the whole mission. Consequently, Leozack decided to disobey orders and blast the subway tunnels open so they could access the electrical systems more easily. This, of course, attracted the attention of the Autobots, and Leozack wound up battling Blacker in the cramped underground quarters. When Deathsaurus called retreat, Leozack was unwilling to break off the fight, but when all the other Decepticons abandoned him, he had little choice. Big City - Underground Terror

Hoping to redeem himself for past failures, Leozack summoned another of his Breastforce teammates, Hellbat, to Earth to steal information from the New Energy Resource Research and Development Laboratory in Japan. Unfortunately, Hellbat botched the job, leading to another battle with the Autobots. The Decepticons were defeated by a brainwave scrambler invented by Braver, which Leozack was able to steal as he retreated. Alas, the scrambler only worked on Decepticons, and the dressing-down that Leozack received from Deathsaurus only convinced Hellbat that he could do a better job of leading the Breastforce himself. The New Warrior - Hellbat Hellbat proceeded to go over Leozack's head with information he had about an energy shipment being transported in Nevada. Leozack was naturally furious, but Hellbat’s honeyed words convinced Leozack to carry out the attack with him so they could steal the energy for their own personal supply. Of course, the two hapless schemers wound up being once again defeated by Star Saber. Attack the Shuttle Base!! Two subsequent missions led by Leozack to steal oil from tankers likewise met with failure, Tanker Hijack Operation Rescue Jean!! as did the Breastforce's attempt to tap hydroelectric power in Canada. Mach and Tackle

Following a scheme to create an energy alloy, A Fierce Battle!! The Asteroid Leozack took the Breastforce to the planet Micro, intending to free another of their comrades, Guyhawk, from the Satellite Penitentiary on the planet's moon. Following the success of this mission, Rescue! Guyhawk Leozack sought to complete the team by summoning the final member, Deathcobra, to join them. With Deathcobra on the team, Leozack could finally boot out the untrustworthy Hellbat, and the remaining six members could merge into their combined form of Liokaiser. Learning of this, Hellbat tried to stop Deathcobra from meeting with the others and accidentally wound up killing him in the fight that ensued. He prevented Leozack from discovering this by blaming the Autobot Micromaster Holi for the deed, and so secured his place as part of Liokaiser. After defeating Star Saber in their first combined outing, Unite! Liokaiser Leozack led the team back to Earth, but still couldn't catch a break from Deathsaurus, who opted instead to heap praise on Guyhawk for his role in the battle, then on Hellbat, who had found a new target for the Decepticons in the Schaeffer Energy plant. The Breastforce combined into Liokaiser to battle Star Saber for the Schaeffer Energy, Battle Up of Wrath!! and later merged again to battle him and Landcross at the South Pole. {{storylink|Fight to the Death!!

Leozack and the Breastforce's next plan was one of their best, as they lured their Autobot rivals, the Brainmasters, into an ambush in the desert. With the heavy automotive Autobots unable to manoeuvre in the shifting sands, the Breastforce were able to damage Blacker badly and deal a serious blow to the Autobots. Crisis! Ambush in the Desert With the Autobots weakened by this loss in manpower, Deathsaurus decided it was time to increase the rate of Decepticon attacks…but this was not a good thing for Leozack, since the first thing Deathsaurus did was set his Breast Animals upon the Breastforce leader, pinning him to the floor of the throne room. Placing his sword against Leozack's face, Deathsaurus informed Leozack that he had always been aware of his second-in-command's ambition to lead the Decepticons, and he offered the would-be traitor a choice: Swear absolute loyalty to him or die. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Leozack chose the former and aided his emperor in luring Star Saber into a subterranean battle. A Deadly Battle This battle left Star Saber badly injured, and the Decepticons kept up the pressure, as Leozack and the Breastforce accompanied Deathsaurus in raiding a solar power station. Ginrai Dies!!

Leozack later led missions to steal energy from America's "Energy Road", and the Mount Asama geothermal power plant, but was stopped on both occasions by Autobot warrior Victory Leo. Fight!! Victory Leo Awaken! Victory Leo Victory Leo wasn't able to interfere with the Decepticons' next energy theft, as the threat of orbital missile bombardment held him at bay, but Leozack disliked the cowardly nature of the scheme. {{storylink|The Tide is Turned!

When Star Saber was off-planet attending a Galactic Peace Alliance conference, Leozack exploited his absence by donning a large exo-skeleton that allowed him to pose as the Autobot leader. Entering the Autobots' headquarters with the claim that he had intercepted a Decepticon message reporting that bombs had been planted in the base, he searched for the disk containing the information on Star Saber and Victory Leo's combination process while the other Autobots were hunting for the nonexistent explosives. Leozack made Victory Leo suspicious when he accidentally electrocuted himself while rummaging under a console and had to trick Holi and Jean into showing him where the disk was. Leozack nearly got away with the disk, but at the last moment, the real Star Saber returned to expose the villain's deception and send him packing. A Mystery?! The Deception of the Base Bombs

Leozack's next scheme saw him unleash the metal-eating Dorya insects upon the Autobots, but the plan went down the tubes when the heroes discovered that intense cold defeated the bugs. The Death-Bringing Space Insects!! This resulted in yet another chewing-out from Deathsaurus, who refused to hear any more of Leozack's plans and simply beat him to a pulp. Hellbat chose that moment to pop up and deliver a secret message to Deathsaurus, which pushed Leozack to the end of his patience with his sneaky subordinate and led him to deliver a beating of his own. Once again, Hellbat sweet-talked Leozack into going along with his plan: the theft of energy from the ancient continent of Atlantis. The Terror of the Giant Tidal Waves The plan succeeded, and the Breastforce and Deathsaurus headed into space aboard the Thunder Arrow in order to recharge Deathsaurus's Planet-Destroying Fortress with the stolen energy. The Autobots pursued the villains, but were unable to stop them from bringing the fortress back online. The Wrath of the Resurrected Giant Fortress! To keep the Autobots busy while the fortress's main cannon charged, Deathsaurus dispatched the Breastforce—combined as Liokaiser—to battle them. In the course of the clash, Victory Leo was able to blast Liokaiser into the fortress's cannon barrel, which drained his energy dry. With his consciousness fading and his body unable to move, Liokaiser could only utter a fading scream for help as he drifted off into the depths of space. {{storylink|Showdown! His attack on a city did not go unnoticed by the Autobots, and when Star Saber arrived to stop him, Leozack was able to knock the Supreme Commander out of the air with his nunchaku. Unfortunately for Leozack, Star Saber's son Jean happened to be watching the battle, and noticed that Leozack was missing his breastplate—the Decepticon had accidentally forgotten to bring it with him! When the combiner warrior managed to seize Star Saber, his individual components began arguing over who would get the right to destroy the Autobot leader; Leozack believed he should get to do it because he was the leader. Star Saber exploited the opening to turn the battle around, and Liokaiser was defeated and escaped. The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber! In their next battle with Star Saber, the Breastforce almost had him defeated thanks to the aid of Deathsaurus and Dinoking, but the tables were turned when Star Saber merged with new arrival Victory Leo to form Victory Saber. The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory!

In their next battle, Liokaiser and Deathsaurus were defeated by the Autobots' "Five Stars of Victory" attack technique, and Liokaiser split back into Leozack and the rest of the Breastforce to flee back to Deathsaurus's "Space Stronghold". Shine! The Five Stars of Victory From the stronghold, the Decepticons began a final attack on Earth, bombarding the planet with meteors, but Deathsaurus made the mistake of leaving Leozack in charge of the fortress while he battled Star Saber in space. Leozack turned the fortress's main cannon upon Deathsaurus and Star Saber, but before he could finish them off, Deathsaurus blasted the fortress with his Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon. Star Saber smashed his way into the fortress control room and slashed Leozack with his "Planetary Impulse Sword", but even as the treacherous Decepticon collapsed, he begged the Autobots not to destroy the fortress. Deathsaurus revealed that the fortress was home to the Decepticons' families, and as Leozack was cradled by his sister Lyzack, he explained that they had been fighting to keep them safe. Struck by this revelation, Star Saber decided that it was time for the Autobots and Decepticons to lay down their arms and live in peace—the truest victory of all! {{storylink|Heroic! Leozack was one of the first to volunteer for Skyquake's experimental Skyraider body refitting program. His new body was teeming with so many weapons, he lacked the hardware to implement them automatically; instead, he was forced to use verbal commands to use them individually.

Under Banzai-Tron's command, Leozack and his fellow Skyraider warriors Skyquake, Hooligan, Hellbat, and Guyhawk, followed the Autobot ship Eight Track to the planet Beta-Nine, where they hoped to beat them to a mysterious cargo that had crashed there aboard the Van De Graaff. Leozack, Skyquake, and Hooligan attacked the Autobots, separating the crew's youngest member from them. The Autobots' commander, Thunder Clash, drove Leozack and the others away with a barrage of firepower, allowing his crew to escape into the trees where the Decepticons would have to fight them on the ground.

Skyquake departed after Thunder Clash and ordered Leozack and Hooligan to kill the remaining two Autobots, Landshark and Flak. Flak leapt out at them, demanding a fight, and Leozack was happy to oblige him. Unfortunately, this was a diversion, and once Flak had occupied their attention, Landshark surprised Leozack with a massive punch.

Leozack and the others were defeated and brought back to Cybertron as prisoners. The battle on Beta-Nine began the Autobot/Decepticon civil war. Wings of Honor
Notes
*According to the 2009 fanclub fiction panel, the gist of Leozack's characterization in Wings of Honor came from the authors' desire to portray him as a stereotypical anime character; at one point, Rik Alvarez even wanted him to speak entirely in Japanese (!). Though nixed for logistical reasons, the basic idea survived in the form of Leozack's dialogue being rendered in a stylized Asiatic typeface.
It's Hot Shot and Coby versus Override in the final stage of the race for the Planet Cup!

Synopsis
On Velocitron, Override, Hot Shot, Crumplezone and Ransack assemble before the Planet Cup shrine. All four racers begin to glow as the shrine recognizes them as participants in the final round of the great race, and a new subterranean course is unlocked on which the final race will take place. Hot Shot is exciting at tackling the roller-coaster-esque track, but Red Alert gives him some grave news: injuries he has sustained throughout the course of the race have left the circuit pathways that deliver commands to his main engine damaged, and he will need a passenger to ride with him for the duration of the race and constantly make corrections to his system. Jetfire, who has recently arrived from Earth, suggests Jolt for the job, but the Mini-Con's rotor blades make him too big to fit into Hot Shot's cockpit. Reminded of a time when he lost a moto-cross race in his younger years, and the importance of the lesson he learned on not giving up, Coby volunteers for the task, and after clearing it with Override, the Autobots allow it.

The last race soon commences, and Override and Hot Shot quickly outstrip their two Decepticon opponents. Crumplezone and Ransack have not been resting on their laurels, however: they have installed several new gimmicks and gadgets into their systems, and begin their trickery by using springs to launch themselves across the raceway, quickly closing the gap between the racers. Hot Shot's speed begins to drop as the group nears a huge vertical loop, but Coby soon fixes the problem with a little prompting from Clocker. Crumplezone and Ransack reveal their second modification, activating new nitrous boosters to speed them through the loop... except the two goons run out of nitrous at the top of the loop, and fall off the track, knocking themselves right out of the race. Abandoning any pretense of following the rules, the troublemaking pair then try to steal the Planet Cup outright, but they can't get through the forcefield protecting it. Override and Hot Shot break off the race long enough to send the partners in crime packing, but as he and Override laugh at the retreating Decepticons, a sudden twinge of pain shoots through Hot Shot...

The race resumes, with the next obstacle on the course taking the form of dangerous high-speed 90° cornering. As the two Transformers tear up the track, Hot Shot's speed starts to drop once more, and the cause is soon traced to Hot Shot's fried main engine connector, a physical problem that Coby cannot fix through his computer. Risking his own safety by unlatching his harness, Coby opens an access panel in Hot Shot's cockpit and manually rewires his circuits. Holding the key cables together with his bare hands, Coby gives Hot Shot the power boost he needs, and the Autobot racer draws level with Override once again. For the final push, Hot Shot activates his Cyber Key power, and the two opponents tear through the goal in a photo finish! After a long, tense moment, the photo comes in... and Hot Shot is the winner! Though stunned at her loss, Override congratulates Hot Shot on his victory, and Hot Shot thanks Coby for all his help.

With the race complete, the forcefield around the Planet Cup dissolves... at which point, a dimension gate materializes in the air above the track, and Megatron and his Decepticons arrive to steal the trophy! He has been followed, however, by Optimus Prime, Leobreaker and Vector Prime, and a battle breaks out between the two sides as Megatron seizes the Planet Cup. Override and Hot Shot charge Megatron in vehicle mode, throwing him off balance, and Leobreaker and Optimus Prime combine into Savage Claw Mode to exploit this opening and take the Decepticon leader down. The Planet Cup goes flying, but Override nimbly snatches it out of the air. The battle and the prize lost to them, the Decepticons retreat, leaving Hot Shot to be crowned the new champion of Velocitron! After Override hands him the Planet Cup, she informs him that she wishes to join the Autobots and help save the universe. Optimus Prime happily accepts her into his team.

The Autobots all return to their base on Earth, where Override is given the honor of adding the Planet Cup to the Omega Lock. As Override holds the cup up to the Lock, it dissolves into particles of light before reforming into the first Cyber Planet Key. Override inserts the key into the Lock, which begins to pulse with energy and fires a beam of light off into the depths of space. The energy wave is felt by Megatron in the fire dimension, by Starscream out in space, and by Scourge on Jungle Planet. The Autobots' computers are activated by the wave, as the Omega Lock feeds them co-ordinates to a location somewhere on Earth. But where do these co-ordinates lead...?
"*pauses hammering* Er.... yeah, of course! Trust me, you're gonna be a sure winner after I give you this super duper tune-up!"<br>
"It's super duper? Well, why didn't you say so?! Hit me again!"
Megatron: This isn't over!<br>
Optimus Prime: Give it a second!<br>

"This'll be great! Of course you'll have to learn to follow orders, Override."<br>
"Doubt it. I mean, you do just fine, and you never follow orders."<br>
"But...Hey!"
:—Hot Shot and Red Alert discuss Override joining the team.

Notes
Differences with Galaxy Force
*Galaxy Force features a short sequence before its title card that features a narrator summing up recent events, with footage of Red Alert working on Hot Shot.
*When Coby rewires Hot Shot's systems for the big finish, Galaxy Force starts playing the show's opening song, "CALL YOU... Kimi to Boku no Mirai". Rather than replace this with its own theme tune, the Cybertron dub substitutes in another piece of suitably dramatic music from the show's soundtrack.
*As in the previous episode, the Savage Claw Mode stock footage is cut short for Cybertron by having the final "pose against the insignia" shot removed.
*After Override is welcomed into the Autobots, in Cybertron, Hot Shot says that she will have to learn to follow orders, and Red Alert jokes that Hot Shot gets along fine without doing that. In Galaxy Force, on the other hand, Hot Shot is thinking about installing a race track in the Autobot base, and Red Alert chides him for even thinking about it given his condition, banning him from racing until he is fixed up.
*In Galaxy Force, the Autobot computers are detecting something on Earth that is reacting to the activation of the Omega Lock, while in Cybertron, the location of the object is provided by the Omega Lock.
*Cybertron adds the customary reference to the Omega Frequency when Velocitron's Cyber Planet Key is added to the Omega Lock.

Animation or technical errors
*When Optimus Prime and Megatron stare each other down after Savage Claw Mode is formed, the Planet Cup has disappeared from Megatron's hands.
*As Megatron and the others escape, the portal closes before Sideways enters it.

Transformers references
*In all past installments of the great race, the action has been narrated by a flying blue robot with a camera in his chest. For this final race, the announcer is replaced with a new robot based on the toy of the Cybertron Decepticon Buzzsaw, who spends the whole episode in his helicopter mode. However, this can't actually be the Buzzsaw, as other Cybertron fiction depicts Buzzsaw as being a native Cybertronian off doing other things with other Decepticons in the stories "Force of Habit" and "The Dark Heart of Sandokan". Even in Japan, where those stories weren't released, Buzzsaw's toy came with a Decepticon-branded Cybertron-styled Cyber Key, rather than the Velocitronian key that he should have if he was native to that planet. Notably, though, even though the 'bot onscreen changes, the announcer's voice is the same as the old one!

Trivia
*Numerous online sources list this episode with the title "Champions". It doesn't appear to have ever aired under this title, however.
