Synopsis
Deciding to visit the Autobots on Earth, the weary Greatshot arrives on the planet and spends the night sleeping in a seaside cave. Awakening the next morning, he looks out over the ocean... only to have the Thunder Arrow suddenly burst out of the water!

Meanwhile, the Autobots, currently stationed on the Tibetan Plateau, receive word of an attack by the Dinoforce on an oil field in the desert. With Blacker confident that the Dinoforce will pose little problem, the Brainmasters head out aboard Galaxy Shuttle with the Rescue Patrol Team, while Star Saber remains on standby in the Shuttle Base. Gōryū immediately spots the airborne Autobots as they fly towards the oil field, but merely smirks, instructing the Dinoforce to carry on draining energy. The reason for his complacency soon makes itself clear, as Killbison and Drillhorn burst out of the sand and blast the unsuspecting Galaxy Shuttle out of the sky. As the Brainmasters climb out of the wreck and return fire, the two Breastforcers turn tail, and the Autobot trio quickly transform and give chase. This, it turns out, is all part of the plan, as Laster and Braver find themselves unable to manoeuvre in the deep sand, leaving them wipe open for enemy fire. As a dune buggy, Blacker is still able to move freely, and occupies Killbison while his team-mates transform and tackle the burrowing Drillhorn.

Back at the oil field, the Rescue Team formulate a plan to rescue the captive workers, who are being guarded by the sleeping Kakuryū. The approach they decide to take is a direct one—Fire transforms to vehicle mode and rolls right up to the prehistoric pea-brain, who awakens just in time to be blinded by a deluge of foam from Fire's cannons. The workers are rushed to safety aboard Galaxy Shuttle, as the foam-covered Kakuryū staggers away. He eventually finds his way to Gōryū, and requests permission to wash himself off.

Out in the desert, Laster and Braver fall afoul of Drillhorn's subterranean scheme, as he lures them into a patch of loose sand, where they promptly sink up to their waists. As Blacker arrives to help, but can't because he will sink too if he transforms, Leozack and Guyhawk emerge from beneath the sand, cackling over the successful deployment of their plan. The Brainmasters merge into Road Caesar in an attempt to use his strength to break free, but the gestalt only winds up sinking faster, unable to even focus his energy thanks to the hail of Ice Needles Guyhawk rains down upon him. The trio are separated back into their component parts, and Blacker finds Killbison's blaster jammed into the side of his head. Thankfully, Greatshot chooses this moment to arrive, and Guyhawk immediately takes to the sky in search of revenge. Greatshot tricks him into colliding with Leozack, and the two villains are grounded, but they keep up the fight... or rather, they run as fast possible to avoid being run over by the six-changer's car mode. Suddenly, a chasm opens up in the desert sand and Greatshot tumbles in, finding himself on top of the rising Thunder Arrow, which had concealed itself beneath the sand.

Deathsaurus appears to confront Greatshot himself, impaling his arm with an arrow from his Breast Animal weapon. Hellbat and Jallguar also appear and attack Greatshot from both sides, but at the last moment, Blacker leaps to his aid, and has his arm blown off in the effort. With one Autobot injured and two buried in sand, things look bad... but luckily, Jean has called on Star Saber for help, and the Supreme Commander comes swooping down out of the sky to quickly airlift Braver and Laster out of the sand so they can get Blacker to safety. While Star Saber transforms to robot mode and clashes with Deathsaurus atop the Thunder Arrow, Greatshot hacks his way through the Breastforce, forcing them to pull out—much to Guyhawk's frustration. With his opponents beating a retreat, Greatshot goes to Star Saber's aid, and together, the pair cripple the Thunder Arrow and leave Deathsaurus with no option but the better part of valor. At the same time, Braver and Laster leave Blacker in the care of the Rescue Team and return to the oil field, quickly disposing of the Dinoforce by blowing up their energon cubes.

As the Autobots get back together after the battle, everyone crowds around the injured Blacker. Although he downplays the seriousness of his wounds, he admits that he was too careless in his strategy. Star Saber prefers to think of him as brave, but he can see that the Decepticons are growing desperate, and that Autobot resolve must tighten.
Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
* The narrator specifically mentions that Greatshot is on his way to Earth from Micro.
* While Galaxy Shuttle is crashing, Braver announces "Come on Decepticons, we're not scared of you!" instead of mentioning the important information that the landing gear is busted.
* While applying first aid to Blacker, Pīpō reports that his "control computer" is undamaged.

Animation and technical errors
* Normally, the Brainmasters and Breastforce are about the same size in vehicle mode, but Killbison is almost twice as large as Blacker when he's chasing him around.
* As Blacker blocks the attacks meant from Greatshot, his left arm is sent flying through the air. In all future scenes, it is the right arm that was destroyed.

Continuity errors
* There is a short and positively bizarre scene dropped into the middle of this episode, in which Greatshot comes upon a bunch of dead robots in the middle of the desert. He removes a photo of a robot family (!) from the hand of one corpse, and then crumples it, angrily demanding to know what the Decepticons are planning. The implication, one supposes, is that he's followed the Thunder Arrow this way, and that the Decepticons have killed these robots. Which would be all well and good, except that it's got nothing to do with the rest of the episode. The Decepticons aren't planning anything that requires randomly killing some robots… and much more importantly, who the hell are these dead robots, anyway?! There's never been any indication that there are any Autobots on Earth except Star Saber's team!
* The sand is shown to be level around the hole which Greatshot falls into, yet after the buried Thunder Arrow rises into the air, there's clearly a huge section right behind said hole which should have been sticking out of the sand!

Transformers references
* Greatshot returns after his previous appearances in "Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior" and "Rescue! Guyhawk".
* Guyhawk's troubled past with Greatshot was covered in "Rescue! Guyhawk".

Real-world references
* Killbison refers to the impending destruction of the Brainmasters as the "end of the Three Autobot Musketeers".

Trivia
* Yet another episode that does away with the standard Victory title cards, and presents the title as white text on a black screen.

Beachcomber

:Beachcomber is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Beachcomber has a hard time reconciling his love of peace and freedom for all creatures with the need to combat those who threaten it. Furthermore, however just the cause for which it was fought, the gruesome and destructive aftermath of any battle sickens him to the spark.

Sometimes, when the internal struggle gets too heavy, he simply has to wander into the wilderness and cleanse his soul. Even there, far from civilization, he sometimes finds strange substances to aid the Autobot cause, for Beachcomber is a skilled naturalist, and geology is his specialty, man. He often tries to preserve or even to hide these discoveries, but he has seen too much evil done by the ruthless Decepticons to conceal any possible source of aid completely from his allies.

Beachcomber's geology tools include a wide array of sensors (magnetic, seismic, sonic, infrared) and a 'sonic pick' which can cut through rock. Beachcomber can use his magnetic sensors to navigate like a compass, but local magnetic disturbances can cause this to lead him astray. His sonic probes possess only limited range.

Beachcomber is neither very fast nor very strong, and his antiwar sentiments gain him little respect from the more martial of the Autobots, yet he is agile and skilled in a fight, and his courage is beyond all reproach.

Fiction
Generation 1 cartoon continuity
The Transformers cartoon
:Voice actor: Alan Oppenheimer (English), Osamu Saka (Japanese), Vladimiro Conti (Italian, second dub), Jorge García (Latin American)

Beachcomber showed up out of nowhere one day, helping Hound, Inferno and Bumblebee investigate some Insecticon attacks on an old growth forest. This unit proved to be sufficiently under-powered when it came to confronting freshly fed Insecticons, and their battle strategy amounted to hiding behind Hound's holograms until the bad robots went away. The Insecticon Syndrome He was next seen on Dinobot Island, worrying that the battle with the Decepticons would destroy the environment before it could be properly studied, but at least he was still fighting while complaining. Dinobot Island, Part 2

Beachcomber, along with the other Autobots, were exiled from Earth after Megatron allied with greedy businessman Shawn Berger to create anti-Autobot propaganda. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1 He and the other Autobots managed to return to Earth thanks to Trailbreaker's force field and Cosmos's navigation. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2

Unlike the next time. On a geology expedition with Perceptor and several other Autobots, Beachcomber abandoned them in the middle of a firefight to explore a cave in the nearby cliffside. While his friends were dodging laser fire and trading blows, Beachcomber was learning to speak parakeet and communing with nature. He also found a golden lagoon full of electrum, a naturally-occurring element which would make any Transformer impervious to harm. He dipped his hand into the lagoon, and it turned completely gold in color. Beachcomber hid this information from his fellow Autobots, and even kept his silence after Thrust arrived coated in electrum and drove the Autobots into retreat, capturing two of their number in the process. Valuing the scenic beauty surrounding the electrum pool, Beachcomber still refused to warn his comrades after the entire Decepticon army arrived coated with invincible golden armor. He went solo to check on the lagoon, and was captured by the Decepticons. Some of the dumber Seekers acted as his prison guards at the Decepticon sunken base, though, and Beachcomber managed to escape alongside his fellow prisoners Perceptor and Seaspray.

Reaching the electrum pool, the trio was met by Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots, who had independently uncovered the pool's location thanks to Powerglide. Realizing his golden hand would give him away, Beachcomber quickly dove into the electrum to disguise his prior knowledge of the substance. In the final battle with the Decepticons, Megatron ordered the electrum pool destroyed rather than sharing it with the Autobots. In the aftermath of the explosion, the wilderness was totally decimated. Beachcomber never told the Autobots that he had known about the Decepticons' secret weapon and had kept silent, and instead sat around mourning the loss of the grass and trees.

Beachcomber is kinda a selfish dick, honestly. The Golden Lagoon

Beachcomber briefly maintained a position at the Autobots' New York City base inside Sparkplug's garage. Make Tracks He was also seen attending Teletraan I when the Autobots were engaged with the Insecticons and Morphobots. Quest for Survival Beachcomber was next seen protecting San Francisco from an alien bird-dragon unleashed on Earth by the Constructicons. He tried appealing to the creature, thinking that we're all one with the same universe. Yeah... that didn't work well. The Secret of Omega Supreme When the energy creature called Kremzeek assaulted the Ark, Beachcomber was one of the first Autobots short-circuited by the little creep. Kremzeek!

Beachcomber was later kidnapped by a greedy toll booth and forced to drive in a circle while hopping over spike-traps. It might make more sense if we explained it better, but it would be nowhere near as funny. Prime Target (episode)

Next, after Megatron kidnapped Perceptor and then voluntarily let him go, Beachcomber joined the entire Autobot team in riding out a few miles from the base to retrieve their friend. Why several dozen Autobots were needed for such a simple mission... is unknown. Cosmic Rust (episode)

In 2006, Beachcomber was stationed at the Ark with Warpath, Pipes and several others when Trypticon came to destroy it. Their feeble efforts to defend the spacecraft were barely noted by the dinosaur robot. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5
He and the other Minibots combined with Powerglide in their vehicle modes thanks to the experimental energies within the dog, and spinning furiously, smashed through Bruticus's chest and out the other side in a flying drill attack.
Beachcomber fought alongside the Dinobots and Throttlebots on Cybertron in 2011. Mindwipe's hypnotic wave forced him and his allies to fall asleep. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky
noteukonly

Beachcomber was a member of Perceptor's resistance cell on Cybertron who disobeyed orders along with most of the cell to help Blaster recover Scrounge from the smelting pool. He actually demonstrated some uncharacteristic strength and gusto, tearing down a laser sentinel tower with his bare hands. The rescue mission failed, but they did recover Scrounge's stolen data, and learned that Optimus Prime and the crew of the Ark were alive and fighting on Earth. The Smelting Pool!

Soon after, Perceptor's crew began a mission to destroy the Space Bridge before the Decepticons on Earth and Cybertron could begin trading resources. Beachcomber used his geological skills to map out a safe path underneath the planet's surface to bomb the underlying support structures of Darkmount, bringing down Straxus's whole fortress. The unit failed to destroy the Space Bridge, however, and were ultimately forced to retreat across the Bridge to Earth. The Bridge to Nowhere!

Beachcomber and his fellows were taken captive by RAAT and their commanding officer, the robot-hater Circuit Breaker, and their heads were mounted on the wall of their headquarters. Aerialbots over America! Circuit Breaker showed footage of their defeat to fellow RAAT operative Walter Barnett. Meanwhile, Skids and the shifty human Donny Finkleberg were sent on a mission to determine their whereabouts, but Finkleberg sold out Skids to RAAT as well. Heavy Traffic! Ultimately, Finkleberg redeemed himself by forcing the captured Autobots' release as part of a deal. If the combined bodies of Beachcomber and the other captives could successfully aid in the defeat of the vandalizing Battlechargers, they would be set free. And so it was. Beachcomber and the others headed home, directed by Skids, when the time-traveling Galvatron took their guide's place. Galvatron tore his way through the group, one by one, with Beachcomber one of his casualties. Resurrection!

Beachcomber managed to avoid virtually all kinds of fighting for the rest of his time on Earth, doing nothing more strenuous than getting shot at by the Ark's own defense systems. Funeral for a Friend! While he did champion Blaster for replacing Grimlock as the Autobots' commander, this didn't stop Beachcomber from whining about senseless violence throughout their duel on the moon. Luckily, a Decepticon strike force arrived to drown out his voice with some lasers and explosives. Totaled!

When the Autobots rescued Buster Witwicky from the Arctic and were ambushed by the Decepticons, Beachcomber was among the first to be attacked, set upon and mauled by Mindwipe. Dark Star (issue)

Presumably, this rendered him non-functional, as Beachcomber was last seen laying deactivated aboard The Ark as Ratchet attempted to repair him. Deathbringer (issue)
Marvel UK future timelines
When the Quintessons raided Autobot City in 2008, Beachcomber and Air Raid rushed to defend their home with a team of fellow Autobots. Unfortunately, the Quintesson shock troops were too much for them, and quickly overran the defenders. Beachcomber and his Aerialbot buddy made a run for back-up, but were jumped from behind and taken out with the rest. Space Pirates!

Find Your Fate Junior
Beachcomber had to find a path to the surface from the cave system the Autobots were trapped in. He explored the system of underground lakes, marveling at the many strange things that lived there. While recharging the Sun-Pak on the surface, he was attacked by Kickback, and had to be saved by Sparkplug. How humiliating. Attack of the Insecticons

In the 'unsuccessful' ending to this multipath adventure, Beachcomber became lost when his magnetic sensors erroneously led him directly to Megatron. He did not regret this error for long.

Beachcomber discovered Rumble practicing his earthquakes near a concealed base and learned of a Decepticon plan to destroy nearby Center City.

Optimus Prime decided that such grave news required a pinpoint response with utmost secrecy... so he sent the recklessly impulsive Windcharger, the bombastic Powerglide, and Beachcomber to babysit the other two. Earthquake (book)
Beachcomber was spurred into action against Shockwave's regime on Cybertron when Optimus Prime returned to the planet and rallied the Autobots into action. Really. Countdown to Extinction (issue)
Afterwards, Beachcomber was assigned to a mission suitable for his pacifism, as part of Bumblebee's supply crew on the Orion, bringing news and fuel to their comrades on Earth. Night of the Combaticons Little did they know they would be caught up in heavy combat with Sunstorm. Beachcomber was supposed to be guarding Sunstorm's primary target, the Decepticon Starscream, in an Alaskan bunker. Now, of course, the question isn't whether Starscream betrayed them at the first opportunity; It's whether Beachcomber even bothered to pick up his gun and try to stop Starscream, or just passively let the 'Con gun him down. The Omega Effect

Four million years ago, Beachcomber was present at a victory celebration after the Autobots halted a major Decepticon energon convoy. The Iron Age

Later, Beachcomber was captured by Soundwave, who used Bombshell to inject him with a cerebro-shell. Under its control, Beachcomber attempted on three occasions to assassinate Blaster. Ultimately, Blaster confronted him about it and forced him to fight against his Decepticon control. Though his mental resistance shorted out the shell, his neural processors were severely damaged as well. Spotlight: Blaster

After eventually recovering, Beachcomber ended up among the Autobot forces on Earth. When Ultra Magnus visited to investigate Optimus Prime's surrender, Beachcomber feared that they might all get arrested, and decided to leave the team. Alongside Blurr, Hoist and Tracks, he attempted to find and join Hot Rod, who was trying to get off the planet, only to drive straight into a Skywatch ambush. Beachcomber was the first to be deactivated when a human named Campologno zapped him using a hi-tech suit. The captured Autobots were brought into the hangar where Optimus Prime was imprisoned by Major Witwicky in an attempt to get the Autobot leader to cooperate. A Rude Awakening

After Bumblebee became Autobot leader and formed an alliance with Skywatch, Beachcomber was freed. He would later completely ignore Bumblebee's leadership once Rodimus returned from space with the Matrix and demanded to see Optimus Prime. Beachcomber was also amongst those (meaning everyone) who volunteered to return to a restored Cybertron and fight Galvatron's army. Space Opera—Final Tableaux: Orphans of the Helix
Wings of Honor
In 2010, Beachcomber was stationed at Autobot City. He was led into battle by Jazz as the Autobots came to the rescue of Pyro's forces at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. In the aftermath of the battle, they were exposed to the mutating properties of forestonite, developing new color schemes and abilities. Beachcomber became a real flower-child, taking on an environmentally-friendly green paint scheme and causing plantlife to grow wherever he walked. Generation 2: Redux
Synopsis
As the Predacons busy themselves around their base, Megatron summons Tarantulas and assigns him to work with Blackarachnia and Quickstrike to develop a refueling station at a newly detected store of energon cubes. Megatron also assigns Waspinator and Inferno to develop a jamming tower to disrupt Maximal communications.

As the Predacons gather supplies and equipment for their assigned tasks, Tarantulas throws a transmitter into Quickstrike's collection of equipment with the hope of summoning the Maximals to undermine Megatron's plans.

Meanwhile at the Maximal base, Rhinox is conducting experiments on Optimus Primal's new transmetal form to see if they can learn its limits. Their experiment is interrupted by a short-circuit and Cheetor's report of a strange Predacon signal on a Maximal channel. Rattrap and Silverbolt are near the signal and sent to investigate.

Quickstrike, Blackarachnia, and Tarantulas arrive at their assigned destination, and Tarantulas decides that the site is a perfect location for his new lair. (His last one had been destroyed previously) He destroys the transmitter that he had been using to signal the Maximals. Blackarachnia too realizes that this site would be an optimal fortress and mentions it to Tarantulas. He then tells her about his plan to commandeer the site for himself to overthrow Megatron and destroy the Maximals, then says that she must join him in his scheme because of their psychic link. He soon recruits Quickstrike to his cause.

Losing the Predacon signal, Rattrap and Silverbolt are forced to follow the Predacons' scent and soon come across their trail.

As he relaxes in his CR tank hot tub, Megatron learns that Waspinator and Inferno have finished their assignment. When Megatron attempts to contact the other Predacons, though (failing to notice the jamming tower falling on Waspinator), he only gets static and soon realizes that the arachnids are up to something.
Back at Tarantulas's would-be lair, Blackarachnia is determined to end the psychic link that Tarantulas has been using to control her and threatens to blow up all of the energon there. While he initially is willing to let her do it, Tarantulas soon learns that their link goes both ways and that he shares her pain, so he agrees to break the link.

Outside the cavern, Rattrap and Silverbolt finally find the Predacons and engage in a battle with them. The fight begins to go the Maximals' way, but Silverbolt refuses to strike down Blackarachnia because she is female.

Soon the Maximals realize that the Predacons are guarding the cave and attempt to get in. Their plans are foiled when the entrance blows up. Rattrap congratulates Silverbolt on the blast, but Silverbolt says that he didn't do it. The Predacons are forced to retreat back to Megatron, who chastises them for their incompetence.

Later, though, it becomes clear that Tarantulas blew up the entrance so that he could return and have the cave for himself.
Notes
Technical/animation glitches
* When Tarantulas says "...and we do live to please Megatron", the green 'eyes' on his chestplate are missing.
* Every time Silverbolt growls in this episode, he sounds like Dinobot. (Of course, when the dude who does your voice does three other voices, you're gonna get mixed up every now and then.)
* Right after the their mental link is broken, before Quickstrike tells them the Maximals are coming, Tarantulas' gold abdomen is facing the wrong way.

Transformers references
*Tarantulas is researching the new Transmetal forms gained in "Aftermath".
*It appears that Optimus Primal's question about the Transmetal forms handling energon build-up was indirectly answered in this episode. When Blackarachnia first cracked the energon cube, only she was affected by its radiation despite Tarantulas standing no more than three feet away. He also recovered faster than Blackarachnia did after the cyber-link was cut off.

Real-world references
*"Grid Arakis" is a reference to the planet from Frank Herbert's novel Dune.
*Tarantulas says, "Of course, you realize this means war", at one point, a phrase commonly used by Bugs Bunny.
*Tarantulas says, "Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home", a reference to the traditional song "Home! Sweet Home!"

Other notes
*It is very unusual that Tarantulas is capable of tossing a probe on the building supplies without anyone noticing (especially since the probe collides with the load with a heavy clang, and has a blinking red light).
*Inferno is apparently not above destroying something he just built to cause Waspinator pain as he can be seen knocking the jamming tower over, laughing while he does so. Megatron also takes no notice despite it being clear as day on the screen.

Skywarp isn't like most of the other Decepticons. He cares not for power, conquest, or battle. Knowledge is the one goal he has in his life. Others can fight the war themselves, as he is far more comfortable in the solitude of the workspace provided by Megatron. For the generous gift of peace and near unlimited time to research, he develops countless experimental weapons and tools for the Decepticons. Although a scientist, Skywarp is far from unarmed, and is equipped with many weapons that are both insanely powerful and nearly impossible to describe.
IDW Transformers movie comics
Many years ago, Skywarp was a member of Cybertron's Defense Force under the command of Protector Megatron. When a mysterious relic was uncovered, aliens from the Eshems Nebula attacked, leveling much of the city of Metrotitan. Skywarp was among the forces deployed to defend their home. Defiance issue 1 Following this outrageous attack on their sovereignty, Megatron used this to declare a military dictatorship and led the flight-capable soldiers in a bloody counterattack on the aliens. Defiance issue 2

Skywarp then joined Starscream and the other Decepticons to capture Optimus. When Optimus Prime thwarted Megatron's plans to capture him, Megatron declared them traitors and civil war erupted across Cybertron. Skywarp joined Megatron's Decepticon faction. Defiance issue 3

Skywarp had been captured by NEST in some unknown conflict, but escaped their jail in South Africa when Bludgeon staged his great escape. Skywarp joined his breakaway Decepticon paramilitary. Transformers Comic issue 2.13

His first task was to supervise the reconstruction of the critically damaged Devastator. The job was going well at a remote site in the mountains of British Columbia, hidden from sight by an artificial cloud bank, until the Autobot Stratosphere stumbled across Skywarp's crew while on a routine patrol. When the Autobot Hotshot made a frontal attack on the construction site, Skywarp easily dodged his shots and easily took him down with a single well-placed kick. While standing over him to deliver a kill shot, however, Skywarp miscalculated something important and was clobbered by one of Statosphere's wings when the Autobot rolled himself over. With Skywarp dazed for a moment, Stratosphere was able to radio in a request for an air-strike to NEST, but Skywarp deemed them more lambs to the slaughter, touting his aerial superiority as he transformed to jet mode and came swooping back around for an attack. Stratosphere opted for a craftier tactic and turned the device generating the cloud bank around, blinding Skywarp with a faceful of vapor and causing him to crash. The NEST air-strike arrived soon after, and it was unclear if Skywarp was able to get away before the blast swept across the area. Transformers Comic issue 2.14

An unkown amount of time later, Skywarp was sent to meet the Autobot Blazemaster and invite the hot-headed psycho to join the Decepticons, proving himself to be quite the chatty chappy. Despite the Autobot's refusal, Skywarp told him to just live with the fact that he had all the credentials to be a murderous villain. Transformers Comic issue 2.16
When Starscream used the Unite process to power himself up and take command of the Decepticons, Megatron moved in to stop the usurper, but since he wasn't an idiot, he had backup standing by. This proved to be a smart move, as Optimus Prime and a squad of Autobots moved in to not only stop Starscream but to keep Megatron from learning the secrets of Unite himself. While the two leaders tussled, Skywarp, Hailstorm, Insecticon, and Terradive moved in to handle the other Autobots. When Starscream attacked them for interfering, Skywarp glibly announced that they had orders to return fire as necessary. They all retreated when Starscream was neutralized and the Unite components fried beyond recovery by Ratchet. The Strongest Weapon
: Skywarp is a Walmart exclusive redeco of Thundercracker, who was a retool of the original Voyager-class Starscream toy with a new head. Cast in black and purple plastic homaging the Generation 1 Skywarp, he transforms into a Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jet. As with Starscream, this vehicle mode is ridiculously inaccurate. Pushing the fighter along a smooth surface causes the barrels of his gigantic spring-loaded Gatling missile launchers to rotate and fire their projectiles, which can also be stored in the black flip-up braces on the launchers.

:During transformation, pushing up upon the canopy fuselage piece activates Skywarp's Automorphing gimmick which pushes certain panels, wings and stabilizers out of the torso. In robot mode, his projectile missiles are sculpted to vaguely resemble fingers, should users choose to keep them loaded while Skywarp is in robot mode.
Eons after the Dynasty of Primes were vanquished, Cybertron fell into dark times. The AllSpark had been buried somewhere within Cybertron and been dismissed as a legend, and the planet itself lacked a star to orbit. As energy became more and more scarce, Cybertronians segregated into tribes. Shockwave chose to rally behind Sentinel Prime, who claimed to be descended from Primus himself. However, he faced opposition from the non-believer Thetacons, and Shockwave joined Megatron, Optimus, and several others in repelling their attacks. Ultimately, Sentinel Prime won the day, as he and Wheeljack were successful in locating the lost AllSpark and harnessing a new sun to orbit. This, however, did not please Shockwave. Now that the war was over, he was dissatisfied, and he no longer knew his purpose. This shocked his old friend, Megatron, and Shockwave explained that it was the journey he enjoyed, not the destination. Plus, well, that new sun was kind of bright. Foundation issue 1

The next day, Megatron detailed to Shockwave how he had eavesdropped on a conversation between Sentinel and Optimus, where Sentinel had tried to pass on leadership to Optimus, who refused, unable to accept he was also a Prime. At the outskirts of Thetacon, they encountered a Driller, a subterranean lifeform that had been brought to the planet's surface by the new energy flowing through it, which was attacking a group of Hatchlings and their protector Starscream. Shockwave was amazed by the creature and called it "magnificent". After besting it, he joined the Cybertronian Defense Force that Sentinel placed under Megatron's command, rooting out dissident Transformers. Foundation issue 2

After the war broke out he joined the Decepticons. As Starscream was asking what to do next minutes before the Nemesis went to space, Shockwave told him that they would obey Megatron's orders without any question. Foundation issue 3 When the Autobots attacked Simfur Temple, Shockwave attempted to apprehend Elita-One, but with no success.
Shockwave and his pet Driller attacked the Autobots when they were summoned to Chernobyl by the Decepticon agent Voskhod. This was done as an act of misdirection to ensure that the Autobots did not realize that the Decepticons actually wanted them to find the fuel cell from the Ark located within the facility. After Optimus retrieved the fuel cell from the Driller, Shockwave emerged from it to reveal himself to Optimus, and the pair quickly retreated underground, leaving Optimus very disturbed to see Shockwave on Earth.

Later, Shockwave took part in the invasion of Chicago. He and the Driller emerged from beneath the convoy of Autobots, and the Driller seperated Optimus from his trailer. Shockwave left the Driller and proceeded to track down the Autobots. The Wreckers were sent to distract him, peppering his armor with fire from their machineguns. He used a car as a shield and fired at them, and once they drove off he menacingly began to pursue them down the road, missing the two small Autobots, Wheelie and Brains, who quickly fled.

Later, he noticed humans inside a building, and sent his Driller into the fray to topple a building and kill Sam Witwicky, Carly Spencer, Robert Epps, and the other humans inside. However the beast was killed by Optimus Prime using his flight gear, and Shockwave, enraged by the death of his pet, opened fire on the Autobot leader, briefly disabling him and taking him out of the fight. He soon joined Soundwave and Barricade to round up the other Autobots. Brains and Wheelie forestalled the Decepticon's from further executing their prisoners by taking control of a Decepticon gunship, and dropping fighers onto the battlefield. Shockwave retreated further away with Barricade and some other Decepticons. However the human soldiers had set a trap, and while firing at them, Shockwave was blinded by one of their parachutes, and his eye was then shot out, causing it to dangle by its wires. Optimus Prime then came charging back into the battle, and when Shockwave fired at him, the Autobot dodged the shot, donned a set of knuckle-spikes, and punched Shockwave so hard that part of his abdomen shattered. Even this did not put Shockwave down, but Prime did not let up - he punched Shockwave again, pinned the Decepticon down and tore his dangling eye out through his throat, finally ending the Decepticon's life. Optimus then used Shockwave's cannon to shoot out the control pillar set up in the city. Dark of the Moon (film)
The massive Shockwave might look like he's purely about muscle and firepower, but he's actually remarkably shrewd and cunning. Coveting the position of Decepticon leader for himself, Shockwave has been working to oust Megatron for years. As you might imagine, he and Starscream don't get along very well.

When the Decepticons arrived on Earth in search of their lost leader, Megatron, Shockwave adopted a tank as his alternate mode. Shockwave was supposed to join Blackout in his attack on the SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar, but instead busied himself surrepticiously searching for leads to the location of the AllSpark. After receiving a communique from Frenzy, who informed him that the Autobots were on Earth and had discovered their own leads to the location of Megatron, Shockwave had Thundercracker airlift him to Qatar, where he helped Blackout take care of the last few military units opposing him. He relayed Frenzy's message to Blackout, then departed for the Arctic with Thundercracker, intending to investigate the site where Megatron's body was discovered.

In the Arctic, Shockwave and Thundercracker faced resistance from an Autobot unit in the area, but fought their way through them to discover that Megatron's body had been moved by Sector Seven. The trip was not a wasted one, however: after scanning a computer terminal in the cavern, Shockwave discovered that Megatron had brought an army of drones with him to Earth to help in the search for the All Spark. These drones were presently lying dormant all over the Earth, and Shockwave schemed to reactivate them so that they could serve him as his personal army. The signal required to reanimated the drones had to be broadcast from a great height, so Shockwave and Thundercracker quickly made their way to a rocket launch site, where Shockwave
programmed the code into a rocket that subsequently beamed the signal down over the Earth from space. Drones sprang to life all over the planet, and began attacking the Autobots. Shockwave's control of his
self-made army was short lived, however, as Autobots Trailbreaker and Hound successfully transmitted a virus that shut the drones down. Simultaneously, Shockwave received another message from Frenzy that the he had discovered the location of Megatron, and that the Decepticon leader was about to reawaken.

After the Autobots defeated Megatron and most of the other Decepticons in battle in Center City, Shockwave retreated back to Cybertron, as did Starscream. Back on their homeworld, Shockwave and Starscream faced off for leadership of the Decepticons, with Starscream ultimately claiming victory. Transformers The Game (PSP)
Shockwave was frozen underneath a Russian facility after crashing to Earth thousands of years ago. His leader Megatron decided to find and release his assassin, since he was needed for the upcoming operation. Optimus discovered Shockwave and asked Ratchet activate more freeze tanks to keep him frozen. however the Driller woke from its slumber, and lashed out at the intruder. After thawing out, he decided to kill the first thing his optic lay eyes on: Optimus. However, he was still a bit woozy from waking up and taking action so quickly, so he tended to make a few hiccups in his attacks, before finally waking up. Autobot reinforcements weren't helping Optimus, as they were dispatched quite easily. During their skirmish, Optimus Prime (with a little help from Ratchet) deduced his weak spot as the three cylinder-shaped generators mounted on his back. Optimus Prime was then able to take down Shockwave with his jetpack/machinegun upgrades, until the Driller decided to intervene, and blocked off the shots while retreating with its master.

Shortly after that, he met up with Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave in Nambia, Africa and was ordered to find a device in a nuclear power plant named Chernobyl. Shockwave agreed and listened to Megatron gloat to the other Decepticons about Operation Pillar.
**Accessories: MechTech Battle Cannon/Particle Wave Blaster with rubber hose, arm-blade-thing

: Part of the second wave of Dark of the Moon Voyager Class MechTech toys, Shockwave transforms into a purple Cybertronian tank. He has a large, detachable MechTech Battle Cannon on his right arm with a rubber tube which connects to his back, and a removable blade on his left arm. When a lever is pushed on the rear of his arm cannon, MechTech gearing opens up the cannon wider with more barrels and blades. C joint rungs are located on Shockwave's arm-blade, one concealed underneath said blade, and two on his AstroMag cannon, two more on his backpack, and two more on his feet. Other MechTech weapons can peg into Shockwave's hands, on the barrel of his cannon, and behind each shoulder blade. Due to the nature of his MechTech weapon supposed to be integrated with his arm, it is not a prime candidate for swapping with other toys, due to the shape and color of the weapon.

: Shockwave's forearms seem to be backward, with the screws holding them together facing out; the backs of his forearms are smooth and screwhole-free. Also indicating that his forearms may have been swapped is the fact that his arm blade, when put in its proper place on his tank mode, is clearly backward. The blade has an obvious back, its left side, marked with gaps; the mold detail on its right side is much cleaner. It's apparently meant to be displayed on the figure's right arm, with the clean side of the weapon facing outward. However, disassembling the figure's forearms and swapping them would change the cannon to the left, which shouldn't be done because: 1) it's movie-inaccurate, and 2) the gun hose is clearly meant to go to the right in robot mode, otherwise it will restrict articulation or keep falling off - though it should be mentioned that the peg hole where the hose attaches to the gun can be rotated 180 degrees, enabling the hose to be positioned on either side of the weapon. Also, the wrist is held together with a pin which can be tricky to remove. On the other hand, the extra barrels in the cannon do seem to be misassembled, as they feature the same problem as the arm blade.

: Shockwave's stock photography depicts him in a much, much brighter and bluer purple while the MechTech lever on the cannon is bright red. Although partly cropped, his packaging photography on the box-front depicts an alternative placement of his gun hose in tank mode, plugging into the port on the side of his rear treads, which actually aligns better than the awkward frontal position depicted in the instructions; in the box-back, there is no gun hose, but since the picture is taken from a left profile, it could just be covered by the toy itself, reinforcing the alternate placement. The stock photography shown also depicts Shockwave's hands to be articulated at the wrists, as the right arm in the photo has the hand rotated 90 degrees from the position actually possible with the figure. Also many more paint applications are present in the stock photography, not limited to the red lever on the cannon, but vents on the vehicle mode are picked out in silver as well as gold details on the hips and both halves of tread on each side of the body being painted silver. Overall, the colour scheme shown on the box photography is completely different from the actual figure within, with the stock photo's silver replaced with a metallic lilac on the hands, feet spikes and knees.
* Transformers: The Game Shockwave was designed by artist Ken Christiansen.
The Attack Chopper is the only one that can be customized to appear purple, though.
*The photo on the newspaper article in Revenge of the Fallen is of Palisades's statue of Generation 1 Shockwave, with something digitally added in the foreground.
*Shockwave was heavily touted as the new main villain prior to the release of Dark of the Moon, no doubt in an attempt to conceal Sentinel Prime's unexpected betrayal halfway through the movie. A piece of information that commonly popped up in media coverage was the claim that Shockwave was the ruler of Cybertron while the other Autobots and Decepticons were duking it out on Earth. The last bit could be written off as a case of chinese whisper: Shockwave got announced as the villain for Dark of the Moon, mainstream media (such as USA Today) who aren't versed in Transformers lore looked up the character, found out about his Generation 1 namesake's role in the cartoon, included it as a piece of trivia to show they did their research, and then the trivia note got picked up as gospel by other media. Nevertheless, it was included in the official plot summary by Paramount's German branch (which also claimed that Shockwave was the robot discovered inside the Ark as seen in the trailer).
*Despite being one of the most highly anticipated characters in the film, Shockwave has very minimal screentime. His only understandable line in the film is at Chernobyl: "Optimus," and seems more like a drone than Megatron's greatest assassin. In the comic adaptation, which was based on early drafts of the script, Shockwave had more lines during the Chicago battle.
*Shockwave does not have the same form in IDW's Rising Storm and Foundation that he does in Dark of the Moon despite both being Cybertronian forms. His form in the comics is less skeletal in robot mode than his appearance in the film, and he also transforms into a Cybertronian jet, much like Megatron's original body, whereas his film design transforms into some form of Cybertronian tank. (Following the leader, maybe?) John Barber commented on his Twitter account that he isn't sure why Shockwave's appearance is different from that in the film, but that an explanation will be given in issue 4 of Rising Storm. While the issue doesn't explicitly show how he gets his Dark of the Moon body, Shockwave is indeed badly damaged by Optimus Prime. Possibly because of this extensive reconstruction, Shockwave doesn't transform in the film (or the video game prequel before it, which displayed him with his current body instead of the old, G1-esque one).
*Generation 1 Shockwave's original voice actor, Corey Burton, expressed that he had no interest in voicing him for Dark of the Moon, explaining "[I] have practically no interest in that kind of mega-budget movie enterprise involvement" and that the inspiration for his Shockwave voice, David Warner, was rumored to have been considered. In the end, Shockwave's almost-entirely-wordless-snarl-based role would have been something of a waste of Warner; the role ultimately went to Frank Welker. There's a nice touch of symmetry in the casting, with Welker taking over a Burton-originated role not long after Burton took on a Welker-originated character in Animated Megatron.
*Hasbro's online bio for Shockwave claims he had spent decades trapped under Chernobyl, but this was not reflected in any actual media; both the video game and Rising Storm comics have him held at a Russian facility from which he is freed shortly before the film's events, and the film itself doesn't give any indication that his appearance at Chernobyl in its opening scenes is an "escape" of any kind.
*Shockwave's AstroMag cannon is a reference to the original Shockwave's toy mold being first released by ToyCo as the "4 Changeable Astro Magnum".
*Select ToysЯUs stores in the US had a promotion for a Shockwave poster with the purchase of any Transformers brand toy from June 5, 2011 to June 11, 2011.
*Although Shockwave's toy transforms into a Cybertronian tank, this alternate mode is never seen in the live-action movie nor the video game.
*While Shockwave's weapon of choice is described as a particle or laser cannon in most related Dark of the Moon media, it appears to be some variety of cluster missile launcher in the movie proper.
*Early artwork for Shockwave for Dark of the Moon showed Blitzwing as a working name for the character.
If there's one thing Carrera loves, it's sports. His everyday speech is dotted with sporting jargon, and it's his dream to one day be an announcer for some of Cybertron's greatest sporting events, like his favorite, the Iacon 5000. Unfortunately, nobody else believes in him because of his speech impediment (he'll describe a 'bot as being "fast an his feet", or talk about the "smallest abject", for instance), but they don't want to say anything, because he's a genuinely nice guy—and a fantastic drinking buddy! Carrera can guzzle energon all day long, and never put on an ounce of weight.
Carrera was in the crowd welcoming Sentinel "Magnus" back to Cybertron, Decepticon Air and was later among the Autobots going about their day when Captain Fanzone was accidentally transwarped to Cybertron. He seemed too engrossed in the conversation he was having with Lightbright to pay any attention. This Is Why I Hate Machines

Later still, Carrera was part of the huge crowd who cheered for Optimus Prime and his crew as they returned to Cybertron victorious. Endgame, Part II
