With [[Ravage]] and his [[Transwarp Cruiser]] backing them up, the [[Predacon]]s unleash a full assault on the [[Maximal]] [[Axalon (BW)|base]]. It doesn't take long for Ravage and [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] to bring down the base's shield. Ravage has Tarantulas transfer all the cruiser's power into one enormous missile. Before it can fire, [[Rattrap]] bursts into the ship's weapons hold and tosses a pair of magnetic bombs that adhere to Tarantulas's hands. The bombs obliterate [[Tarantulas]], the ship's interior, and Ravage{{m-}}who faces the onrushing fireball with a stoic cry of "[[Decepticon]]s forever!" The cruiser falls out of the sky, coming to rest mere feet from Rampage{{m-}}who is then blasted by the still-armed missile.

==Summary==
At their respective bases, the two sides react to Optimus Primal's death. The Maximals are in a state of shock, whereas the Predacons laugh, jeer and generally have a good time. However, these moods are to be short-lived—the destruction of the planet buster has caused a quantum surge, which very soon hits the Earth. In the ''Axalon'', Rattrap and Cheetor are affected by it in the control room, as is the dead body of Tarantulas down below. The surge severely rocks the ''Darksyde'', causing Waspinator to fall into the CR pool while the other three Preds (Megatron, Scorponok and Terrorsaur) catch the surge's full effect. Megatron is thrown onto the floor of the base, whilst Scorponok and Terrorsaur lose control of their hover platforms and collide into each other. The collision causes both of them to fall into the lava pit, where they are terminated.

The aftermath of the surge sees a relieved Waspinator emerge from the CR pool, joyous to have survived. However, he starts when he sees Megatron in the shadows, having been upgraded by the surge into a new Transmetal body.

In the Maximal base, both Rattrap and Cheetor are startled at each other's new modes, until each realises the same has happened to himself. At Airazor's suggestion, both try out their new beast modes and vehicle modes—and both end up crashing. Tigatron and Airazor go off on the hunt for the spiders, who are partly responsible for Primal's death by knocking out poor ol' Rhinox.

Under Tarantulas's control, Blackarachnia begins to take her leave of the ''Axalon'', with Tarantulas insisting she bring his body along. Unbeknowst to them, the eyes of Inferno's severed head glow back online...

Back upstairs, Rhinox and Dinobot come back online, with Rhinox ordering Rattrap to tell him everything. Dinobot announces that he should be leader, but after a stern throttling by Rhinox, he backs down.

Blackarachnia and Tarantulas escape the base, only to be intercepted by Tigatron and Airazor. However, help for the she-spider is on its way. Megs is never above [[Code of Hero|kicking somebody while they're down]], so he brings a full Predacon assault (in the form of Waspinator) to join the Tarantulas-possessed Blackarachnia in an assault on the ''Axalon''. Airazor and Tigatron are blasted offline by Megatron.

The alert sounds inside the ''Axalon'', so Rhinox sends the two new Transmetals outside whilst he and Dinobot try to set up the defenses. However, Inferno emerges into the room, and immediately blasts Rhinox backwards using a missile, which prompts Dinobot into a physical brawl with the Predacon.

Outside, Tarantulas forces Blackarachnia to retreat (against her and Megatron's wishes). Waspinator battles Cheetor, much surprised that the "cat-bot" can fly. After a bit of a beating, Waspinator retreats. Following some more shooting, Megatron transforms into vehicle mode and charges at Rattrap, who transforms into beast mode and uses his tail to trip the Predacon. Megatron is not spent yet, though, and he blasts Cheetor off the cliff. Cheetor transforms to flight mode to escape, but crashes into Rattrap. Megatron prepares to end the new bots...

Inferno and Dinobot are still locked in combat when Rhinox grabs Inferno and throws him out of the base lift. He then challenges Megatron with one of the "Chainguns of Doom".

Finally, Megatron realizes with only a broken Inferno in his army, he's no match for Rhinox and the Transmetalized, Cheetor and Rattrap, so he calls a retreat.

Elsewhere, under one of the planet buster-generated storms, [[Coming of the Fuzors (Part 1)|two stasis pods]] are shown lying in a barren area, their DNA scanners malfunctioning.

==Summary==
[[Rattrap]] burrows through some rocks to uncover a piece of valuable [[Energon]]. [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] congratulates Rattrap's discovery, while [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]], disgruntled with the labour, discovers a deposit of surface Energon several times the size of Rattrap's harvest.

Suddenly, a dart from [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]] lands on one of the larger pieces of Energon. [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] recognizes the dart as an explosive, and rushes to toss it away from the unstable Energon. However with the Energon already fractured, there's no stopping the gigantic explosion. Once the fireball expands and rises into the sky, Scorponok and [[Waspinator]] are confident they've destroyed their enemies and return to base to report their conquest.

In the aftermath of the explosion, the four [[Maximals]] have all survived, but because of Energon poisoning, all of them have lost their sense of vision. Cheetor, Rattrap, and even Dinobot panic and fret - until Rhinox puts his foot down and gets his team moving, in hopes they can overcome their disability and reach home - or at least avoid being easy targets.

Rhinox, at the front of the train of blind Maximals, comes to a sudden stop, causing the Maximals behind him to bump into his large posterior. Dinobot hops back onto his feet (and onto one of Rattrap's as well). Rhinox silences the group so he can use his ears to detect if something is near the group - his suspicion is confirmed as a large [[Snake]] grabs Cheetor. Dinobot comically runs into a tree. Rattrap fails to fight the snake off, but Cheetor is saved due to the reptile deciding that Rattrap would be a better meal. Luckily, Rhinox is able to save Rattrap by tossing the snake over the horizon.

[[Tigatron]] and [[Optimus Primal]] (finally!) decide to search for their comrades who never reported home. Scorponok and Waspinator, searching for evidence of the expiry of the Maximals, decide to follow the trail of energon radiation their enemies left as the four walked away from the area. Waspinator finds the four as they cross a log over a waterfall, and the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] easily unhinges the log, causing the quartet to plunge into the water far beneath. As Waspinator congratualtes himself, [[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]] arrives, demanding proof of the wasp's endeavor.

The four maximals all manage to wash up on a shore together. Dinobot feels doomed by the situation but Rhinox remains hopeful. The Predacon fliers pass overhead at high speed, finding their targets. In response, Rhinox commands his group to transform to their robot modes. Next Rhinox instructs the group to imagine the targeting grid from their training. Using all his senses to extend his sensory awareness, Rhinox gives directions for Cheetor, Rattrap, and Dinobot to aim their weapons. Terrorsaur is hit, and the sound of fire alerts Tigatron to the missing group's location.

Being in robot mode for just a few extra minutes however, accelerated the energon poisoning blinding the maximals to the point that it causes the three gunners to fall into stasis. Luckily Primal arrives before the group's sparks are extinguished.

After Primal has brought his friends back to the [[Axalon]], Rhinox exits the [[CR Chamber]], the Energon poisoning cleaned from his system and his eyesight restored. Rhinox suggests that the whole ordeal was educational, and leaves to embrace his senses by smelling some flowers.

Sumdac was shocked to find Megatron still functioned. He confirmed that the robot was indeed an old friend of the Autobots, but bore no grudge. Megatron even suggested the Autobots would be more forgiving of Isaac dissecting him if the scientist gave him a new body before revealing the truth. As a sign of good faith, Megatron helped Sumdac rebuild his [[Dinobots (Animated)|robot dinosaurs]]. Unfortunately, a glitch made them rampage twice, and Isaac felt annoyed at the bad job he'd done. However, Megatron took the blame upon himself and was ashamed that he'd built weapons into the dinosaurs out of his desire to have a body again. Isaac briefly attempted to rebuild Megatron, but his modifications were unworkable due to lack of [[destronium|a critically needed element]]. It just so happened that Sumdac Systems' product line also included a prototype reflex-augmentation suit; when the only working model was mysteriously stolen and the thief then used it to try to retrieve the critical element Megatron desperately wanted, Isaac found that confusing but seemed otherwise untroubled. {{storylink|Nanosec (episode)|Nanosec}}

For Sari's birthday party, he tried to get some kids her own age (all children of his employees) to hang around with her, but even with the help of the Autobots, this did not really work. Luckily, she was happy with her new present, [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]], a musical robot that had been created by Megatron simply to please children. (It turned evil but, surely that was all an accident on Meg's part!) Isaac appears to design and make special robots for many of Sari's birthdays, each trying to be better than the last, though as he sadly notes to Megatron, she seems to forget them quite quickly. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

After meeting with Henry Masterson, who showed Sumdac the "[[Headmaster (technology)|Headmaster unit]]", he was horrified to discover that Masterson planned to use the technology for military purposes. Things got even worse when the rocket that Masterson's warbot controlled went flying into the city of Detroit. Furious, Sumdac fired Masterson on the spot. Several days later, Masterson stole the Autobot [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]'s body and used it to take control of a solar fusion power plant, demanding 700 billion dollars to be delivered by Sumdac himself. Isaac drove [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] into the power plant with the other Autobots, allowing them to take on Masterson. While Sumdac tried to shut down the reactor, a stray missile from Masterson destroyed the controls. Fortunately, Bulkhead built a drone that managed to shut down the reactor. {{storylink|Headmaster (episode)|Headmaster}}

After discovering an energy signature out in the woods near Detroit, he found it was what he had been searching for since he came across Megatron's head: the rest of his body. Sumdac noted that Megatron would be most surprised by the discovery...{{storylink|Nature Calls}}

* Despite her initial sarcasm, Sari has apparently forgotten (or is willing to forget) how Blackarachnia's use of the All Spark key nearly killed Sari herself and all organic life for miles around. She also doesn't seem to mind being kidnapped onto a rooftop again. Lesson: Never betray a kid's trust; it makes them act REALLY stupid.

* Not so much an error as just an oddity: When Starscream stands over a dangling Bumblebee on the Sumdac Tower rooftop, Megatron sends a power surge through a roof fixture and zaps Starscream. When the scene cuts back to the roof a few minutes later, Bumblebee's back on the roof, which he likely managed while Starscream was stunned, and Screamer's confronting him again. However, with no time given for them to talk or react about the transition, the previous roof scene may as well not have happened.

* When Prime is attempting to call Bumblebee back to base, and Ratchet tells him to let him go, Ratchet's war wound mysteriously re-appears for the duration of the episode, even though it had been repaired several episodes earlier.

They agree one of the faces doesn't belong, then decide to band together and overthrow Megatron. Flying back to base, Blitzwing and Astrotrain decide who should lead Megatron into the trap, one of them suggesting Starscream while the other counters how the [[Air Commander]] has constantly been attempting to become [[Decepticon leader|leader]] of the [[Decepticon]]s and failed. Starscream retorts as usual and says he will do it, and the other two gloat about manipulating him.

Starscream gloats and tries to escape through a hatch but finds out that it's been locked by his "allies". This leaves Astrotrain and Blitzwing as the only joint Decepticon leaders.

Heading for a stadium, Blitzwing, in a display of great intelligence, drafts a football coach to be his [[second-in-command]] and give tactical advice. Blitzwing misinterprets his suggestions of "zone defense" and "long bomb" and has the Constructicons build a massive highway maze, then begins firing from inside the stadium. [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]] leads a group of Autobots to investigate, but they end up crashing into each other in the Constructicons' maze. Meanwhile, Astrotrain heads to a train station, where he "conscripts" the [[Astroforce]], human trains which are to be his army. He sends them into a tunnel to collect energy lines and convert them into [[energon]]. It actually goes quite well for Astrotrain. The Astroforce? Not so much.

Meanwhile, [[Powerglide]] flies over the maze, where [[Scrapper]] has built himself a throne...made of Prowl, [[Tracks]], [[Skids]], and [[Bluestreak]]. Guided by Powerglide from the air, [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]] and [[Smokescreen (G1)|Smokescreen]] manage to rescue the Autobots, causing Blitzwing and Scrapper to crash into each other. At the train station, the [[Seeker]]s come to see how Astrotrain is doing. To his credit, he has gotten a lot of [[Energon cube]]s, but his Astroforce has somehow gotten off their tracks and into a knot. Astrotrain urges one of the trains to gather some energy from a gas main, but it turns out to be a water main, which floods the tunnel. Worse, it heads into the tunnel in which Megatron and Starscream are trapped. Online again, Megatron accuses Starscream of another attempt at treason. Starscream maintains that he was tricked. [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], and [[Spike Witwicky]] see the two Decepticons, only to be distracted by the water main flooding the city. [[Trailbreaker]] uses his [[force field]] to push back the water, while Optimus and Ironhide seal the main. Heading for the station, Megatron and Starscream encounter Prime, who claims that he's looking for the leaders of the Decepticons...which are not Megatron and Starscream. This royally pisses off Megatron, who tries to kill the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]], but Prime escapes. Megatron leaves to put Astrotrain and Blitzwing in their place, with the Seekers following, betting on who will win. Optimus, however, is content to sit back and watch what happens.

At the stadium, the Constructicons demand a share of the power Blitzwing promised, but he refuses and tells them to go jump off a bridge. Bad idea, for the Constructicons form [[Devastator]]. The flood from the water main finally dies out at the stadium, depositing Astrotrain, who decides to scrap Blitzwing as well.

Megatron and Starscream arrive, and Megs beats his would-be usurpers senseless, but Devastator knocks out Megatron, then turns his sights on the Air Commander. Starscream manages to dodge Devastator, then Megatron slams the giant. Megatron, Blitzwing, Astrotrain, Starscream, and Devastator then engage in a battle royale which sees Megatron emerge victorious. He decides to spare the traitors, saying the Decepticon cause is too important, but warns them never to betray him again.

As the Autobots look on, they're impressed that Prime knew that Megatron would handle the Decepticons for them. The previously injured Autobots form a throne for their [[Supreme Commander|commander]] to sit on, but Optimus Prime declares that he'd rather [[roll out|roll]].

They agree one of the faces doesn't belong, then decide to band together and overthrow Megatron. Megatron also sees that the transwarp wave is on its way to Cybertron. After learning that [[Code of Hero|his attack]] on the early humans caused them to scatter, making their extinction an impossibility, he decides to implement one final plan. He calls up his security cameras, showing Blackarachnia leaving the [[Darksyde|Predacon base]].

Silverbolt flies to a secluded location where he meets up with Blackarachnia, handing her some sort of gadget (which is later revealed to be a levitation device of some kind) and he once again offers her a spot in the Maximal ranks. In the future, [[Predacon Command Outpost One|a Cybertronian outpost]] receives the transwarp wave quite violently. [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] scans the all known alien sites, with [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] playing "back seat computer operator". Both notice a pattern, and Rhinox is concerned, as the next location looks like it is on course with [[Tigatron]] and [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor's]] scout patrol. They try to alert the pair but are unable due to [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron's]] jamming tower. Dinobot announces he and [[Rattrap]] will go to destroy the tower. Rhinox informs the other [[Maximals]] of the danger Tigatron and Airazor are in, so the flyers set off to warn them.

[[Tarantulas]] is repairing his web in his lair, moaning to himself that no one will help him, as "they're all too busy helping Megatron, even that vile..." when he is interrupted by his computer alerting him to the presence of the aliens. He quickly transforms into his motorbike mode and races off.

In the ''[[Darksyde]]'', [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] is nearly dozing off on scout duty, as "working for Megatron sure is boring!". This doesn't please the purple guy much, as he happens to be eavesdropping. Suddenly, she notices Tarantulas on the scanners, zipping along at breakneck speed. At the mention of the spider, Megatron reveals himself, accompanied by [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]], and begins giving Blackarachnia orders, with Inferno enforcing his master's wishes. Blackarachnia suggests they follow Tarantulas to see what he's up to, but Megs seems reluctant. Inferno then reports of an attack on the jamming tower and asks if he should back up [[Waspinator]] and [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]]. Instead, he reveals to the spider and Inferno that now is a prime time to get the [[Golden Disk]] back, with only Rhinox guarding the ''[[Axalon]]''.

Tigatron and Airazor are patrolling when, to their delight and surprise, they see a hint of plant life in the form of a drifting seed. They continue and discover a clearing full of plant life, an area of natural beauty that wasn't destroyed by the alien attack. Airazor is intrigued by the unique forms of vegetation, so she transforms to get a scan. BIG MISTAKE. Tigatron also transforms. BIG MISTAKE. They both seem to be overcome by it all, and share a brief, cheesy romantic moment. But as the pair cuddle up, tendrils begin to snake up behind them, and suddenly, the two Maximals are entangled. Amidst their screams, they link hands, telling each other that their sparks will always find each other. As they are abducted, [[Cheetor]] flies up and tries to rescue them, but to no avail. He screams in protest as he realises he has lost them. As he bemoans the Maximals' inability to warn the abducted pair in time, Tarantulas pops up and blasts Cheetor, knocking him out cold. As Tarantulas begins to check out the site, he realises [[Optimus Primal|Optimus]] is coming, so he retreats.

Optimus and [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]] land in the clearing, and Optimus gets Cheetor back online. He hurriedly asks what happened to Tigatron and Airazor, and Cheetor indicates the plant at fault for their disappearance. At this moment, Rattrap buzzes in, informing the Maximals that he and Dinobot have destroyed the jamming tower. (Actually, Dinobot is still landing a few final blows, which topple the tower on top of Quickstrike and Waspinator.) Upon hearing about the fate of Tigatron and Airazor, all the Maximals head back to base, all deeply moved.

Optimus com-links Rhinox, who is also shocked by the news, but, being the cool cucumber like he is, goes straight back to scanning the alien abduction and notices two distorted figures in the beam: Tigatron and Airazor. Before he can investigate further, the base alerts go off, and he notices Megatron outside. Rhinox has no time for fun and games, so he literally brings out "the big guns." However, Megatron is merely acting as a diversion while Blackarachnia and Inferno sneak into the base and shut off the defense systems. Big Green realizes he's in trouble and desperately tries to get through to Optimus, but Inferno enters the room, swings Rhinox's chair up to the table, and puts him at gunpoint just as Optimus finally responds. Inferno offers a "Goodbye!" on Rhinox's behalf and simultaneously blasts Rhinox. Blackarachnia rushes for the disk, but Inferno is more hesitant: "The Royalty said we weren't to touch it until..." He is interrupted by Rhinox grabbing him and yanking him back to express his displeasure. Rhinox and Inferno start to rock 'n' sock each other with chin-punches, and Rhinox soon wins by popping Inferno's block off (or at least up). Blackarachnia grabs the disk, but Rhinox menaces her with "The Chaingun Of Doom." He barely has time to threaten her before Megatron appears behind him and lays verba; claim to the disk. Despite his fear, Rhinox quickly readies to smack Megs in the face, but the Pred is too quick; he grabs Rhinox's hand in his claw, rips it off and sends him sprawling. Megatron grabs the disk, pushes Inferno's head back down, then takes his leave.

The Maximals make it back to the base, and Optimus re-attaches Rhinox's arm. The Maximals then have a council. Cheetor is still upset about Tigatron and Airazor, insisting they need to rescue those two. However, Dinobot says they need to stop Megatron before the aliens strike, to which Optimus agrees. They set off for the site where Tigatron and Airazor were abducted.

Megatron is back in the ''Darksyde'', talking about the Golden Disk, but is interrupted by Tarantulas. The spider brags that he is no longer part of the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] command, but also reminds his ex-leader that he is Megatron's only chance of surviving the alien attack. Megatron allows Tarantulas to undertake his plan.

The Predacons head to the abduction site, where they go about ramming posts into the ground. Megatron questions Tarantulas's motives, but Tarantulas isn't telling. However, due to the fact they shared minds, Blackarachnia knows it is because he hates the aliens. Megatron doesn't mind, since hatred is an emotion he can trust. When the plan is complete, Megatron and Tarantulas have a brief laughing contest which is interrupted by Primal and the Maximals, who transform and prepare to attack. The Predacons also terrorize, ready for battle, when the aliens' beam comes down, causing a halt in the proceedings. All the Transformers stare on in amazement as a spaceship materializes in front of their very optics.

The top of the ship opens, releasing an energon surge, which blasts into everybody.

==Detailed synopsis==
At the [[Decepticon]] [[Decepticon space cruiser|base]], [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] is working on some electrodes for the Decepticons' new [[energy magnet]]. When [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] comes to complain, an energy-based lifeform which calls itself Kremzeek jumps from Megatron's experiments and begins wrecking all their gear. Megatron is impressed, thinking that Kremzeek will make an effective weapon against the [[Autobot]]s. Temporarily containing it in a circuit trap, Megatron has [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] take them to the [[Ark (G1)|Autobot base]], where they deposit Kremzeek.

Breaking free of his trap, Kremzeek goes on a rampage, shorting out the Autobots' [[circuits]]. [[Sparkplug Witwicky]] realizes that his new insulating foam might work and manages to coat [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], [[Blaster]], [[Inferno (G1)|Inferno]], and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]], which prevents Kremzeek from entering them and playing havoc with their systems. However, Kremzeek manages to jump into [[Teletraan I]], shorting it out, and then riding [[Sky Spy]]'s transmissions to another location...[[Japan]].

The remaining active Autobots take [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]] to Japan, but the massive mechanoid is shorted out on arrival by Kremzeek, who then jumps into a train, which the Autobots pursue. Heading towards a city, Kremzeek plays havoc in an arcade, then enters Shibuya Manufacturing Corporation. Within the company's factory area, the Autobots meet Dr. [[Soji Yoshikawa]], who theorizes that radio waves might affect the creature. Blaster work his magic and then tries to merge Kremzeek with his own energy supply. Unfortunately, this creates a whole multitude of Kremzeeks.

As they rampage around Japan, the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] theorizes that a large energy source could draw the Kremzeeks together and reunite them. At the Decepticon base, the energy magnet is ready, and the Decepticons first target a passing warship. Back in Japan, the Autobots have finished preparing a tower to absorb the Kremzeeks, but one manages to slip inside Blaster. When the remaining Kremzeeks are reunited, they merge in a [[scale|massive]] form. At that moment, Megatron activates the energy manget, drawing the world's energy sources to the Decepticon base. As the Autobots begin to feel the effects of the loss of energy, Prime realizes that this whole thing has been a distraction by Megatron. That leads Blaster to think of a plan: Why not let the Decepticons deal with Kremzeek?

Kremzeek, who is getting sleepy from the energy drain, is directed to the energy magnet and collides with it. It done blows up real good. After the Decepticons retreat, the stolen energy is returned to its rightful place. Yoshikawa theorizes that they could disperse Kremzeek's energy, which would kill him. Despite Bumblebee's objections that killing him is wrong (What the [[frag]] is wrong with you, Bee?) Prime causes Kremzeek to disperse. Returning to the mainland, Blaster admits that he sort of misses Kremzeek...at which point the solitary Kremzeek that jumped into him earler jumps out, and the pursuit begins again. Sadly (or thankfully), there's no time to see what happens next.

After the ''[[Axalon]]'' crash-landed on a mysterious planet, the most youthful crew member of the disabled ship chose a cheetah as his new beast form. Impressed with his own appearance, the young 'bot renamed himself Cheetor.

Far too frequently, Cheetor looked up to Optimus Primal enough to rush out in an all-too eager attempt to prove himself. He seemed to botch as many missions as he carried out successfully; he broke an experimental communicator, rushed into combat, got himself captured by [[Tarantulas]], and set up remote survey posts in the middle of a lightning storm on a bed of unstable energon crystals.

It seems Cheetor also trusted [[Dinobot]] more than the rest of his crew. When Optimus Primal was feared dead, a vote was held to decide whether [[Rattrap]] or [[Dinobot]] would lead the Maximals. Naturally, both parties voted for themselves, but as Rhinox read out the votes, he was only surprised by Dinobot's second vote. This would imply that he did NOT vote for Dinobot, and that it must have been Cheetor. {{Storylink|Chain of Command}}

When the [[quantum surge]] from the explosion of the [[Planet Buster]] engulfed the planet, Cheetor's exostructure was mutated into a shiny new [[Transmetal]] body. Along with a tougher metal hide and built-in weaponry, his beast mode gained the ability to fly via two powerful thrusters in his torso. Unfortunately, his first attempt at flying led him on a one-way trip into a bulkhead. As Rattrap later remarked after a disastrous rescue attempt, a few flying lessons wouldn't have hurt. {{Storylink|Aftermath}}

While supporting [[Depth Charge (BW)|Depth Charge's]] attack on Megatron's perverse cloning experiments, Cheetor came in contact with the direct energy beam of the [[transmetal driver]], causing a massive explosion that made his fellow Maximals believe he was dead. However, he was seriously damaged and wandered around for megacycles afterwards, not knowing where he was, before he finally stumbled back to base.

Refusing treatment in the CR chamber, he was prone to hallucinations, panic attacks, paranoia, and delirium. He escaped the base and would rest for hours at a time, only to awaken and find himself somewhere foreign, his gears exhausted. {{Storylink|Feral Scream Part 1}}

In reality, his Transmetal body was in conflict with the alien "Transmetal 2" power infused into it by the transmetal driver. While unconscious, he would undergo a mutation into a feral beast that acted with savagery and aggression. With Optimus Primal's help, he finally gained control of the power and rejoined the rest of the Maximals, who were surprised at the rapid changes to him. {{Storylink|Feral Scream Part 2}}

This "new" Cheetor regularly lost his temper, particularly with Rattrap. Still, he was considerably less reckless, and all of his decisions seemed to have a casual air of confidence and a youthful belief in invincibility. At heart, he was still Optimus's little guy.

"Oh, joy," Rattrap remarked on this. "Cyber-puberty."

At the start of [[Beast Machines]], Cheetor was stripped of his Transmetal 2 power and thrust into a dark and unfriendly world. As a result, he relapsed slightly into the dependent bot that he was at the start of the first series, idolizing Optimus Primal and blindly following orders. However, as he slowly got a handle on his new situation, the maturity Cheetor had gained during the beast wars seemed to come full circle. He acted calmer, frequently took over leadership in place of Optimus Primal, and overall behaved more "adult". (The role of "kid" was taken over by [[Nightscream]].)

After the ''[[Axalon]]'' crash-landed on a mysterious planet, the most youthful crew member of the disabled ship chose a cheetah as his new beast form. Impressed with his own appearance, the young 'bot renamed himself Cheetor.

Far too frequently, Cheetor looked up to Optimus Primal enough to rush out in an all-too eager attempt to prove himself. He seemed to botch as many missions as he carried out successfully; he broke an experimental communicator, rushed into combat, got himself captured by [[Tarantulas]], and set up remote survey posts in the middle of a lightning storm on a bed of unstable energon crystals.

It seems Cheetor also trusted [[Dinobot]] more than the rest of his crew. When Optimus Primal was feared dead, a vote was held to decide whether [[Rattrap]] or [[Dinobot]] would lead the Maximals. Naturally, both parties voted for themselves, but as Rhinox read out the votes, he was only surprised by Dinobot's second vote. When the [[quantum surge]] from the explosion of the [[Planet Buster]] engulfed the planet, Cheetor's exostructure was mutated into a shiny new [[Transmetal]] body. Along with a tougher metal hide and built-in weaponry, his beast mode gained the ability to fly via two powerful thrusters in his torso. Unfortunately, his first attempt at flying led him on a one-way trip into a bulkhead. As Rattrap later remarked after a disastrous rescue attempt, a few flying lessons wouldn't have hurt. {{Storylink|Aftermath}}

While supporting [[Depth Charge (BW)|Depth Charge's]] attack on Megatron's perverse cloning experiments, Cheetor came in contact with the direct energy beam of the [[transmetal driver]], causing a massive explosion that made his fellow Maximals believe he was dead. However, he was seriously damaged and wandered around for megacycles afterwards, not knowing where he was, before he finally stumbled back to base.

Refusing treatment in the CR chamber, he was prone to hallucinations, panic attacks, paranoia, and delirium. He escaped the base and would rest for hours at a time, only to awaken and find himself somewhere foreign, his gears exhausted. {{Storylink|Feral Scream Part 1}}

In reality, his Transmetal body was in conflict with the alien "Transmetal 2" power infused into it by the transmetal driver. While unconscious, he would undergo a mutation into a feral beast that acted with savagery and aggression. With Optimus Primal's help, he finally gained control of the power and rejoined the rest of the Maximals, who were surprised at the rapid changes to him. {{Storylink|Feral Scream Part 2}}

This "new" Cheetor regularly lost his temper, particularly with Rattrap. Still, he was considerably less reckless, and all of his decisions seemed to have a casual air of confidence and a youthful belief in invincibility. At heart, he was still Optimus's little guy.

However, as he slowly got a handle on his new situation, the maturity Cheetor had gained during the beast wars seemed to come full circle. He acted calmer, frequently took over leadership in place of Optimus Primal, and overall behaved more "adult". (The role of "kid" was taken over by [[Nightscream]].)

After Optimus Primal and Megatron fell into the planet's organic core, starting the Cybertron-wide reformatting, the Oracle spoke to Cheetor's mind, possibly suggesting that Optimus Primal had passed his communication abilities to Cheetor as he died.

At the [[Darksyde|Predacon base]], the ships sensors detect two stasis pods. Desparate for troops, [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] and [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] move out to secure them. Waspinator notices that there is only one moon now, and flies back into the base. Dinobot, looking from afar, also notices the planet's single satellite. Sneaking into the base, Dinobot corners Waspinator, who is looking at the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden]] [[Golden Disk (Vok)|Disk]]s. Grabbed by the thorax, Waspintor points out that there is only one moon now, and Dinobot explains the significance. They're on [[Earth]], and the Disks can fortell the future. In a surprising show of ambition, Waspinator offers to join forces with Dinobot to steal the disks, but Dinobot uses Waspinator to deactivate the shield (by throwing him at it) then escaping and shooting the computers. [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]], hauling the deactivated body of [[Tarantulas]] to his lab, making a half-hearted effort to stop Dinobot. Having been reduced to crushed ball, Waspinator is forced to drag himself to the [[CR chamber|restoration chamber]]. Poor Waspy.

Meanwhile, the [[Maximal]]s have found another stasis pod. [[Tigatron]] and [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] are heading out for a more extensive survey to see what other effects the [[Planet Buster]] has had on the planet. [[Rattrap]] says that they should open up the pod, but there is no [[spark]] within, and the [[protoform]] is a blank. Rattrap asks what the use of that is, and Rhinox says there isn't a use—yet. Elsewhere, the two pods the Predacons are seeking activate their [[DNA scanner]]s, but the scanners malfunction. Two Transformers emerge, one a wolf-eagle hybrid, the other a scorpion-cobra hybrid. Neither recognizes the other, the scorpion-cobra speculates that he could beat the wolf-eagle up, and attacks. Inferno arrives, and attacks. Megatron, observing, alters their [[command code]]s to become Predacons. Introducing himself, the Predacon leader shows them that they are Transformers. The scorpion-cobra names itself [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]], and the wolf-eagle names itself [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]].

Elsewhere, Dinobot is talking to himself about the two disks. Do they hold the future, or just what might be the future? A quick look would confirm how he dies, but it could be used once, and Dinobot could not live unless he were master of his own fate. Destroying them would be a coward's act, so he resolves to note the truth, but later. Placing the original disk under a rock, he takes the alien disk back to the ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]''. At the Maximal base, Cheetor is sent to find Dinobot, while Rhinox hooks himself up to some equipment for an unnamed purpose. Cheetor spots the Preds, but is attacked. Being alerted, Rattrap prepares to unload [[Sentinel (BW)|Sentinel]] on them, only for the computer to inform him that any disturbance to the base could separate Rhinox's [[core conciousness]] from his body. Dinobot arrives (hiding the disk) and asks what's going on. As Rattrap explains the problems, Dinobot, carrying more armament than [[Roadbuster]], declares that they must take the fight away from the base.

At the ''Darksyde'', Tarantulas's mind is restored to his body, but he left a psychic link with Blackarachnia, in an attempt to control her. Megatron contacts the base, and Waspinator, finally revived, tries to tell Megatron what happened early, but Megatron orders them to link up with other Predacons. As Rattrap and Dinobot find Cheetor, the Predacons, doubling the Maximal numbers, prepare to attack.
