Lugnut has elevated blind loyalty to a fine art. If it came right down to it, this massively powerful mech would walk into Hell and back for Megatron. There may not be much going on upstairs, but Lugnut knows he doesn't need to be a thinker. His brute force alone is enough to serve Megatron, a being born to lead the Decepticons, and irreplaceable in Lugnut's eye. God only knows what he'd do if anything ever happened to him.

Lugnut is renowned throughout Cybertron as one of the most destructive fighters for the Decepticon cause, able to throw a punch with the force of a small bomb. The destruction he can cause with his physical strength is rivaled only by the armament he carries within him, including a plethora of cluster bombs. Autobots know that the only way to survive a fight with him is to stay out of his path.
Lugnut was on board the Nemesis with Megatron, Starscream, Blitzwing and Blackarachnia when Starscream insulted Megatron (out of the latter's presence, of course). Lugnut leapt in and roared about how Megatron would lead the Decepticons to a new age. Blackarachnia mocked him, asking if the speech was memorized or just hardwired into his one-track processor. Blitzwing indirectly defended Lugnut by insulting Blackarachnia, but soon burst into song, prompting all the Decepticons to argue until the entry of Megatron silenced them. Later, when it became clear the Nemesis was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Lugnut showed uncharacteristic intelligence by fleeing in an escape pod (though there is a good chance he left to find Megatron). Transform and Roll Out!
After arriving on Earth's Moon, Lugnut and Blitzwing discovered the Nemesis, near where Blitzwing mentioned that Lockdown had last reported. Heading to Earth, Lugnut and Blitzwing had a battle with the Autobots. Lugnut managed to knock out the Autobots with his super-powerful punch (which Blitzwing says he told him "a thousand times" to warn him before using), which convinced Megatron that Lugnut could be trusted. He contacted Lugnut only, instructing him to find the All Spark, which would be able to restore Megatron. Blitzwing thought that Lugnut had finally overheated his motherboard. Heading for Lake Erie, the two Decepticons tracked down the Ark. Lugnut showed that he wasn't always a stupid klutz by being reluctant to enter the underwater smokescreen Optimus Prime created, although he still entered when Blitzwing followed. Obscured by kicked-up dust, his targeting systems found a body in the haze. He boasted that his targeting sensors did not fail him, which turned out to be inaccurate as the person he had found turned out to be Blitzwing. The Autobots seemed to have the upper hand when Lugnut showed some smarts for the second time in the battle, transformed and then blew the smoke away with the jetwash of his thrusters. Unfortunately for him and Blitzwing, just as they were going destroy the Autobots, Ratchet and Sari Sumdac had brought its weapon systems online. The two Decepticons were blasted to the shores of Lake Erie in several pieces, severing Megatron's radio link with Lugnut, leaving poor Lugnut to believe that his master had forsaken him. The next morning, Starscream appeared and promised to repair themm-if they swore loyalty to him. All things considered, Lugnut is still drifting through the lake in several pieces. Lost and Found (Animated episode)
Kaon is a Decepticon-controlled city-state in the southern hemisphere of Cybertron.

Fiction
Dreamwave continuity
Far from the civilized metropolitan titans of the north half of the planet, Kaon was inhabited by a radical citizenry unsatisfied with the Autobot High Council and its maintained status quo. It was here that the industrial creations, the smelting pools, were first used to melt down living beings, a practice other city-states found horrible and barbaric. Disaffected, unruly, and thirsty for slaughter, Kaon was an obvious location for the fomenting of Megatron's underground Decepticon movement.

Its capital is the fortress city of Kolkular.

IDW continuity
Kaon was known to be one of the worst places on Cybertron. Thus, Sentinel Prime was operating out there when Megatron and his fellow miners fled there. One of Kaon's notable features were a series of underground gladiatorial combats run by Clench. After Megatron killed Clench, he took over the games as a method of recruiting gladiators into the Decepticon army. After being freed by Starscream and Soundwave, the Decepticons launched an attack on Kaon, and took control of the city, using it as their base to direct the campaign against the Autobots. Megatron Origin
*Cybertron Primus
:Kolkular is one of two distinguishable cities molded into the surface of Primus' planet mode, designed specifically to match its appearance in Dreamwave's The War Within comics and DK's Transformers: The Ultimate Guide. In Primus' robot mode, Kolkular ends up on the underside of Primus' heel, which is probably symbolic. The city actually has limited articulation all of its own, being able to "pop up" when in planet mode to better represent Kolkular.

:The other city is the Autobot city-state Iacon, which, similar to the depiction on the Cybertron map in the Ultimate Guide, is placed on the opposite end of the toy from Kolkular. Its placement, however, is likely a coincidence.

Trivia
*Kolkular was first mentioned in the short story Alignment. The Decepticon homeworld of New Cybertron included a complete re-creation of the domed fortress.
* According to his bio, the Decepticon Lugnut from Transformers: Animated was called "The Kaon Krusher" and learned dirty fighting in the "Great Arena", clearly references to the city.
