'''Cheetor''' is full of youthful overconfidence. He's also the fastest Maximal on four legs, so he gets into way too much trouble. Thankfully, [[Optimus Primal]] keeps a steady eye on him. In return, Cheetor has grown to idolize Primal, whom he calls "Big Bot." Optimus Primal knows the young and inexperienced Cheetor needs a good role model, so he doesn't mind too much. And, hey, he's a good kid. Just... keep him away from [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]], okay? Impressionable minds, and all.

Speaking of bad influences, Cheetor had a brief crush on the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] turncoat [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]], adding some real tension between him and [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]]. He seems over her now.

Cheetor also appears to have vague precognitive skills, sensing important events before they actually happen--usually in the form of ominous dreams. With such power and potential, who knows—maybe the lad is destined for [[Oracle (BM)|great things someday]].

A former cadet of the Maximal Command Security Force, Cheetor left the organization young after being recruited by Optimus Primal based on his leadership potential, and joined the crew of the Axalon. Full of youthful enthusiasm and hoping to see the furthest reaches of space, Cheetor instead became embroiled in conflict when the Golden Disk was reported stolen while the Axalon was docked at a Maximal satellite. After the ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'' crash-landed on a mysterious planet, the most youthful crew member of the disabled ship chose a cheetah as his new beast form. Far too frequently, Cheetor looked up to Optimus Primal enough to rush out in an all-too eager attempt to prove himself. He seemed to botch as many missions as he carried out successfully; he broke an experimental communicator, rushed into combat, got himself captured by [[Tarantulas]], {{storylink|The Web|The Web}} and set up remote survey posts in the middle of a lightning storm on a bed of unstable energon crystals because someone stroked his ego. {{storylink|Equal Measures|Equal Measures}}

It seems Cheetor also trusted [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] more than the rest of his crew. When Optimus Primal was feared dead, a vote was held to decide whether [[Rattrap]] or Dinobot would lead the Maximals. Naturally, both parties voted for themselves, but as Rhinox read out the votes, he was only surprised by Dinobot's second vote. This would imply that he did NOT vote for Dinobot, and that it must have been Cheetor. {{storylink|Chain of Command|Chain of Command}}

When [[Tigatron]] turned up, Cheetor fast bonded with "Big Cat" and looked up to him. Tigatron's eventual death left him greatly distraught.

When the [[quantum surge]] from the explosion of the [[Planet Buster]] engulfed the planet, Cheetor's exostructure was mutated into a shiny new [[Transmetal]] body. Along with a tougher metal hide and built-in weaponry, his beast mode gained the ability to fly via two powerful thrusters in his torso. Unfortunately, his first attempt at flying led him on a one-way trip into a bulkhead. As Rattrap later remarked after a disastrous rescue attempt, a few flying lessons wouldn't have hurt. {{storylink|Aftermath}} Once he got the hang of it, he was constantly used on flight and recon missions.

When [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] defected to the Maximals, Cheetor swiftly gained a big crush on her and deliberately joined her on a mission; he was left annoyed when she dismissed him as a "nice kid" {{storylink|Cutting Edge}}, and more so when she further emphasised what she thought of the crush via a big pointy weapon. {{storylink|Proving Grounds}} Despite this, the crush briefly flared up again when she almost died. {{storylink|Crossing the Rubicon}}

While supporting [[Depth Charge]]'s attack on Megatron's perverse cloning experiments, Cheetor came in contact with the direct energy beam of the [[transmetal driver]], causing a massive explosion that made his fellow Maximals believe he was dead. However, he was seriously damaged and wandered around for megacycles afterwards, not knowing where he was, before he finally stumbled back to base.

Refusing treatment in the CR chamber, he was prone to hallucinations, panic attacks, paranoia, and delirium. He escaped the base and would rest for hours at a time, only to awaken and find himself somewhere foreign, his gears exhausted. {{storylink|Feral Scream Part 1}}

In reality, his Transmetal body was in conflict with the alien "Transmetal 2" power infused into it by the transmetal driver. While unconscious, he would undergo a mutation into a feral beast that acted with savagery and aggression. * Cheetor has the first line in the show Beast Wars; he also has the last line in the show Beast Machines, closing the arc of the two shows in a coherent development of Cheetor as a young rookie to Cheetor as commander.

Young and untested, '''Optimus Primal''' was a mere captain of an exploration ship when he and his crew were diverted off-course to pursue a stolen Predacon ship under the leadership of some crook named [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]]. The rest, they say, is (literally) history.

Though he does have a penchant for stuffy speeches, Optimus Primal is much more down-to-cybertron than his legendary [[Optimus Prime (G1)|namesake]]. He is committed to the Maximal codes of honor and moral judgment, but he does view them with some irreverence, and is not above finding loopholes or administering unorthodox solutions if necessary. ("Sometimes, crazy works," he says.) He is eternally loyal to his friends and respectful to his enemies. He is brave and selfless in battle. However, he is so committed to helping others that he can withdraw into a deep depression when he feels he has let them down. This is the only time he is self-absorbed.

Optimus Primal is extraordinary for not only being able to distinguish himself despite living in the shadow of Optimus Prime, but for perhaps even surpassing him, seeing as he [[Optimal Situation|saved the life of his namesake]] and ushered in a new [[technorganic]] [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. It is possible Optimus Primal is the greatest Cybertronian hero who has ever lived.

Under the eerie shadows of a full moon Optimus Primal, a gigantic bat, [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]], a swift-stalking cheetah, and [[Razorbeast]], a fearsome wild boar, hunt purposely through the depths of a jungle. Soon Optimus detects the thermal emissions and fusion activity from a building, which mean they've found their target. His motion sensors register what appears to be a harmless [[Earth]] creature below.

Before Optimus realizes his mistake the alligator lashes out with as smashing swipe of its tail, knocking Optimus into the swampy waters. The beast transforms and [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] towers above him. The building ahead is the Predacons' genetics lab and he'll never let Optimus reach the secrets inside. He orders his troops to attack and everyone transforms to robot mode. The gigantic arthropods Tarantulas and Waspinator engage Razorbeast and Cheetor respectively while Optimus and Megatron face off.

Optimus brags that the Maximal "[[bio-genetic morphing process]] has allowed us to create the perfect fusion of organic musculature and Transformers technology!" Megatron responds that his side did all that too, so nan-neh, but used the DNA of Earth's most vicious predators. When Optimus notes that the Maximals seem to be getting the upper hand, Megatron immediately detonates the lab and escapes, vowing to return with new forms and new plans when the Maximals least expect it. Optimus Primal is a veteran of the last [[Great War (G1)|Great War]], one waged between the Maximals and the Predacons. Captain of the ship ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'', Optimus Primal and his crew had been stuck on a space station for weeks while awaiting [[Rampage (BW)|additional cargo]]. Finally, they were leaving and ready to return to embarking on their mission of exploration, but the [[Maximal Defense Command Center]] had a different idea. The [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]] had been stolen by [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] and a group of rogue [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]], and Optimus Primal's ship was closest to intercept.

They closed in on Megatron's stolen ship, the ''[[Darksyde]]'', and shots were fired back and forth. Suddenly, not one but two ships joined their battle. One was sent by the [[Tripredacus Council]] and was commandeered by secret operatives [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]] and [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]]. Another, the ''[[Chromia 10]]'' was crewed by its [[Airazor (BW)|Maximal owner]] and [[Tigatron|Unit 2]], a member of the [[Maximal Command Security Force]]. Both of these ships were ultimately destroyed, but Primal ordered the Maximals on board the ''Chromia-10'' be downloaded into blank [[Stasis pod|stasis pods]] to save their lives.

Optimus Primal was the captain of the exploration ship ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]''. When his crew got word that the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] criminal [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] had stolen the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]] and a [[Darksyde|ship]] with [[transwarp]] capabilities, Primal's ship was the closest vessel that also possessed a transwarp drive, so ''Axalon'' was sent to chase Megatron's crew.

Primal followed the Predacons through a transwarp portal and appeared above a mysterious planet, but both ships were damaged in the ensuing space battle, and before both ships crashed into the planet's surface below, Primal ordered that the [[Stasis pod|stasis pods]] carrying the rest of his crew to be ejected into orbit.

The planet was rich with [[Energon (fuel)|energon]] â€” so much so that prolonged exposure would short out their bodies, so the Maximals and Predacons were forced to take organic forms from the local creatures. Primal took the form of a silverback gorilla. Primal remarked that his new form was "interesting" upon exit from the [[CR chamber]]. Estranged from his comrades, the Predacon [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] challenged Primal to a duel soon after their arrival, seeking command of the Maximals so he could, in turn, defeat Megatron. However, the Predacons saw the duel and tried to kill them both. Dinobot joined the Maximals after Optimus risked his life to stop him from dropping to his death. Dinobot later repaid him by saving him from a missile fired at him by Megatron. (That did cause the energon-laced mountain where they were to explode, but nobody got killed). Both sides entrenched themselves on their new world, and the "[[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]]" began. Strange unnatural sites and artifacts were discovered, leading Primal and the others to believe that aliens had seeded the primitive planet with experiments and traps. One such trap, the [[Standing Stones]], ensnared Primal's body for a short time, during which the Maximals scrambled to ascertain their chain of command. In his absence, the Maximals squabbled and fought over leadership, until finally his core consciousness was able to speak to them and name [[Rattrap]] as his replacement. Primal's body was subsequently retrieved from the Standing Stones, and he resumed command.

When [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] discovered evidence of the [[Vok]]'s imminent arrival, Megatron called a truce, to which Primal reluctantly agreed. While investigating a newly-created Vok installation, Primal was tortured and captured by the aliens, who spoke to him (in the form of [[Unicron]]) and told him of their plans to "sterilize" the planet. Barely escaping the Vok base, Primal returned to the ''Axalon'' to find it overrun by [[Tarantulas]] and [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]], who had turned a space stasis pod into an escape ship in order to flee the doomed planet. As the planet's second moon was converted into a [[Planet Buster]], Primal took the ship to do battle with the superweapon, against the objections of his crew. Primal planned to detonate the ship's [[transwarp cell]] when in range of the weapon, after ejecting to safety. The plan workedâ€”with the exception of the "ejecting" part. Megatron remotely seized control of the vessel, overriding Primal's ejection commands. Later on, Primal was captured and imprisoned in [[Metal Hunter|yet another Vok base]], this one controlled by his archnemesis Megatron. During a daring rescue attempt by the Maximals and Tarantulas, Optimus engaged in a furious battle with Megatron, destroying both the Metal Hunter and the alien disc. The Maximals then suffered a number of setbacks, including the death of Dinobot, the destruction of [[Transmutate]], and Megatron's acquisition of the deadly [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]]. However, the Maximals were soon greeted with good news: the realization that the [[transwarp wavefront]] created by the destruction of the Planet Buster would lead Cybertron to them, making a rescue operation possible. Help arrived soon enough, but in the unexpected form of the rebuilt [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]], who had come to arrest Megatron for his crimes against the [[Pax Cybertronia]]. In the midst of this, Primal was forced to chastise new recruit [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]] for his dangerous relationship with Blackarachnia. Primal was forced to take the great Autobot's spark inside himself to keep it protected. This caused his body to grow larger and stronger, gaining ground and air vehicle modes along with his previous gorilla form. Megatron sardonically dubbed him "Optimal Optimus" (ironically, no one else ever used that name). In his new form, he successfully protected Prime's spark until it could be returned to his repaired body, thus saving history and the future from destruction.

With the location of the Ark revealed and Megatron now desperate to end the war at any cost, Primal was forced to move his Maximals into the volcano where the Ark's hull lay. {{storylink|Optimal Situation|Optimal Situation}} This new, defensive war was much more difficult to fight, and disadvantaged the Maximals severely, even with his new four-mode body and enhanced firepower. Both Megatron and Optimus Primal awoke inside a bizare temple-like spaceship which was hurtling through space. Neither had any memory of who they were or how they got there, only their own names and a feeling of discomfort between one another. The pair went about investigating the ship in search of answers. While Megatron's memory was lost, his personality remained mostly intact: he was more concerned with seizing control of the ship before Primal did in order to gain the upper hand.

They eventually found a data log and discovered that their sparks had been taken and they were reborn into new bodies (unbeknownst to them, bodies identical to their original forms). However, their memories were intentionally not uploaded into their new bodies. While searching the log they discovered that the ship's main power source was a [[Golden Disk]] lodged within a giant pillar. Megatron immediately raced to obtain the Disk and Primal followed him. The closer they got to the disk the more the ship attempted to thwart their advance by manipulating its atmosphere conditions.

Once they reached the chamber, the ship's environment suddenly morphed to that of a decaying planet littered with the corpses of robots. The corpses came to life and began shambling toward them, intent on eating their sparks. They made short work of the zombies, leaving Megatron to obtain the Golden Disk and Primal with a feeling that he shouldn't entirely trust Megatron.

Cornered by the mechanical terrors, Primal attempted to Maximize, but his parts only shifted painfully and his body was tortured by electric shocks. Using his ape-mode body's agility, he swung out of reach, and suddenly received a vision of a monorail-vehicle nearby. Swinging into the train car, he found [[Rattrap]], afflicted by the same [[Transformation virus|transformation lock virus]] as Primal. Rattrap suggested "taking off these fur suits", but there was not time, for another squadron of tank drones caught them. It would have been the end for Primal and Rattrap, had the timely arrival of [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] not saved them. Once again, Primal received a vision, showing a pit. Heading (well, falling) into the hole, he and his companions were caught on a familiar spiderweb, courtesy of [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]], who was back in her Season 1 spider form and severely weakened. Heading underground, Primal led the weakened Maximals to the depths of ancient Cybertron on Blackarachnia's webs. Falling into darkness, Primal threw a piece of scrap metal and discovered what appeared to be a wall of fire. He had, in reality, awakened the powerful and legendary [[Vector Sigma|Oracle]]. As the other three Maximals watched, Primal entered into the bowels of the computer, within which he was granted visions he could not yet comprehend, including the prophetic statement that "the seeds of the future lie buried in the past." Nightscream led them to an underground tree, where Primal, Rattrap, and Blackarachnia ate the fruit and began to revert to their animal instincts. When Nightscream was injured in a Vehicon attack, Primal showed a new talent granted by the Oracle, reformatting the youth into a new, techno-organic body. However, Optimus was critically weakened by this and requested the over-eager Cheetor to take command in his absence. {{storylink|Forbidden Fruit|Forbidden Fruit}}. As the liquid flowed through the chamber, palm-like plants sprang up, revealing Cybertron's organic roots. When Tankor gained control of the Key to Vector Sigma, he infected the verdant orchard, transforming it and Nightscream into "technomatter". Primal later found the [[Plasma energy|Plasma Energy Chamber]], a device lethal to technological beings. While Megatron readied the planetwide pulse of Vector energy, Primal began to harness the energies of the Chamber to destroy all technological life on Cybertron. As the [[Battle for the Spark|Battle for the Sparks]] continued, the Maximals cultivated an orchard around the Oracle, but the plants fared poorly and began to wither. Worried, Primal wondered if the orchard was to be in vain. When an extraterrestrial shuttle crashed into Cybertron, it was Primal who led the Maximals toward the site. Discovering organic matter inside, the team was attacked by a strange plant-creature. Pursuing the beast towards the Oracle, Optimus reformatted the creature into a techno-organic plant. The plant introduced itself as [[Botanica]], a fellow Maximal scientist, and tended to the dying orchard, restoring it to vigorous life.

In the ultimate conflict between Primal and Megatron, Optimus sacrificed his life, plunging with Megatron into the heart of Cybertron and ushering in the reformatting that returned the deactivated population to life and gave birth to the new, technorganic Cybertron. He teleported several [[Transformer|Transformers]] into himself, a handful of the countless victims across the [[Continuity|multiverse]] whom he pitted against each other in order to harvest their [[energon radiation]] and, eventually, [[Spark|sparks]]. Decimated in some unknown battle and trapped between dimensions, Unicron sought to revitalize himself in this fashion.

Deep within Cybertron, [[Primus]] and [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] summoned Optimus Primal back from the dead and sent him on a raid to free Unicron's captives. {{storylink|Abduction|Abduction}} Once inside the Chaos-Bringer, he found allies in the form of a [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] and even a [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] from variant timelines. {{storylink|OTFCC Live-Action Drama|OTFCC Live-Action Drama}} But he also found himself discolored by sinister [[Unicron virus|radiation]] that threatened not only his body, but also his spark. Optimus Primal took Omega Prime and others on raids within Unicron's internal "prison cities," freeing more captives. Primal then embarked on an even more proactive venture, leading teams to other dimensions in anticipation of Unicron's strikes and setting up defensive measures before the Chaos-Bringer could gather more victims. Despite gaining more followers in this process, Primal and other veterans were being worn down by Unicron's corruptive influence. Certainly those who had been abducted and reformatted by Unicron were affected, but some (such as Primal himself) who had been exposed to Unicron's nanotech virus and its accompanying radiation were also suffering. In order to avert madness and death, Primus [[Reformatting|reformatted]] Primal and several of his comrades. Not only was his [[Optimus Primal/toys#Beast Wars 10th Anniversary|new form]] immune to the virus and radiation, but it also possessed the [[Matrix of Purification]], which could heal others of Unicronian corruption.

Months passed as the competing armies grew, their battles raging on a level comparable to the [[Cybertronian Civil Wars|Great Wars]]. Cybertron itself remained stable, but only for a time. The planet fell victim to a massive invasion, later called "the Culling," in which Unicron's Minions swept across the globe in a killing frenzy, the sparks of their victims feeding the Chaos-Bringer. Primal's army fended the invaders off, but in the chaotic aftermath, Primal's earlier fears were realized as [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] returned to lead the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]]s back to glory. Continued raids saved many more captives and brought the Minions to near-defeat. Then as one raiding party including Primal and Omega Prime battled their way out, Unicron suddenly began to disappear. He was pulled in mid-teleport by [[Over-Run (Armada)|Over-Run]] into the Cybertron of the [[Unicron Singularity]], which had been the cause of the Unicron-war Unicron's disappearance. He was meant to bomb a power plant to aid [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] and [[Dinobot (BW)|his partner's]] attack; he was almost caught by a guard but Backslash saved him, berating him for being sloppy. With the Disk in their hands, the thieves were picked up by their other comrades in a stolen ship, newly christened the ''Darksyde''. Crash-landing on an unknown planet, Scorponok and his peers were forced to take on organic beast modes to shield themselves from the planet's dangerous levels of raw [[Energon (fuel)|energon]]. Scorponok now transformed into an organic scorpion. When Dinobot furiously berated Megatron for foolishly marooning them on the wrong planet and attempted to attack his leader, Scorponok stood behind Megatron and waited for his cue to fire on Dinobot, sending the traitor far into the distance. Later, Scorponok participated in the first battle between the Maximal and Predacon factions and managed to trap [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor's]] leg under a boulder. After recovering in beast mode, Scorponok and the lower-ranking Predacons were wagering who would win the battle between [[Optimus Primal]] and Dinobot until Megatron ordered them to fire on the unwitting combatants. After their shots failed to destroy the Maximals but instead revealed a massive energon cache buried inside a mountain, the Predacons moved out, followed by the Maximals. He shockingly succeeded in something, retrieving a mega-cannon and badly wounding Cheetor in an early mission... though only because [[Tarantulas]] helped. {{storylink|The Web}} Still, his loyalty was never in question, to the extent that when [[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]] took over, Scorponok simply walked off and fixed Megatron the ''instant'' Terrorsaur wasn't looking. {{storylink|Power Surge}}

Later, Megatron tasked Scorponok with a mission to create a virus for his [[cyberbee]] that would turn Optimus Primal into a coward. Ambushing the Maximal leader and Dinobot as they were on a botanical study near a waterfall, Scorponok managed to have his cyberbee latch onto Optimus when he attempted to help the traitor. Unfortunately, Optimus Primal fired off a shot before going down, dislodging the log Scorponok was sitting upon and sending him over the edge of the waterfall. To greater misfortune, Scorponok had botched the virus, turning Optimus Primal not into a coward, but a fearless, ultra-aggressive berserker. Both Scorponok and Megatron were blown up with the cyberbee when Primal ripped it off and chucked it at Megatron's back. {{storylink|Gorilla Warfare}} Other than this, Scorponok's major contributions to the Predacons were all related to the fact that he possessed nothing but heavy artillery for weapons. Although he rarely did anything of importance, Scorponok once fought Dinobot one-on-one and gave a very good account of himself. When the Maximals invaded the ''Darksyde'' to retrieve their comrade [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]], Scorponok not only held his own, but dominated the fight, up until the point where Dinobot used his rotary blade weapon to win. After learning of Optimus Primal's destruction, Scorponok laughed along with his fellow Predacons, then congratulated Megatron, but was pushed away by his leader. However, unlike the beefy rockets he cannons from his claws in the series, in the game, he fires an incredibly unimpressive stream of little green bolts, giving him low firepower. Like the rest of the characters in the game, his voice bears very little similarity to what he sounds like in the TV series, sounding more like a little girl with a cold.

In Maximal story mode, Scorponok is the boss for the Desert stages. The bout starts with him standing outside his base (yep, his own personal base), protected by a shield and complete with two autoguns (he'd been saving up for his own little place in the wasteland, obviously), on the opposite side of a canyon from the Maximal. Whilst the autoguns fire, he also unleashes volleys of his "almighty" green bolts. Once the guns are destroyed, the whole shield program shuts down. Scorponok then begins strafing and firing, but after a few more hits, he falls into the canyon. However, the guy isn't finished yet. The next stage starts with the Maximal jumping into the canyon and battling Scorponok close up. The two still fire at each other with guns, though, as the game has no melee. However, Scorponok boasts an unexpected advantage in this fight: He is quite short, meaning that if you're playing a taller character, sometimes the only easy way to hit him is to jump over the Predacon's head and shoot him. After a few more blasts, Scorponok collapses (and presumably the Maximal loots his base).

Far too frequently, Cheetor looked up to Optimus Primal enough to rush out in an all-too eager attempt to prove himself. He seemed to botch as many missions as he carried out successfully; he broke an experimental communicator, rushed into combat, got himself captured by [[Tarantulas]], {{storylink|The Web|The Web}} and set up remote survey posts in the middle of a lightning storm on a bed of unstable energon crystals because someone stroked his ego. {{storylink|Equal Measures|Equal Measures}}

It seems Cheetor also trusted [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] more than the rest of his crew. When Optimus Primal was feared dead, a vote was held to decide whether [[Rattrap]] or Dinobot would lead the Maximals. Naturally, both parties voted for themselves, but as Rhinox read out the votes, he was only surprised by Dinobot's second vote. This would imply that he did NOT vote for Dinobot, and that it must have been Cheetor. {{storylink|Chain of Command|Chain of Command}}

When [[Tigatron]] turned up, Cheetor fast bonded with "Big Cat" and looked up to him. Tigatron's eventual death left him greatly distraught.

When the [[quantum surge]] from the explosion of the [[Planet Buster]] engulfed the planet, Cheetor's exostructure was mutated into a shiny new [[Transmetal]] body. Along with a tougher metal hide and built-in weaponry, his beast mode gained the ability to fly via two powerful thrusters in his torso. Unfortunately, his first attempt at flying led him on a one-way trip into a bulkhead. As Rattrap later remarked after a disastrous rescue attempt, a few flying lessons wouldn't have hurt. {{storylink|Aftermath}} Once he got the hang of it, he was constantly used on flight and recon missions.

When [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] defected to the Maximals, Cheetor swiftly gained a big crush on her and deliberately joined her on a mission; he was left annoyed when she dismissed him as a "nice kid" {{storylink|Cutting Edge}}, and more so when she further emphasised what she thought of the crush via a big pointy weapon. {{storylink|Proving Grounds}} Despite this, the crush briefly flared up again when she almost died. {{storylink|Crossing the Rubicon}}

While supporting [[Depth Charge]]'s attack on Megatron's perverse cloning experiments, Cheetor came in contact with the direct energy beam of the [[transmetal driver]], causing a massive explosion that made his fellow Maximals believe he was dead. However, he was seriously damaged and wandered around for megacycles afterwards, not knowing where he was, before he finally stumbled back to base.

Refusing treatment in the CR chamber, he was prone to hallucinations, panic attacks, paranoia, and delirium. He escaped the base and would rest for hours at a time, only to awaken and find himself somewhere foreign, his gears exhausted. {{storylink|Feral Scream Part 1}}

In reality, his Transmetal body was in conflict with the alien "Transmetal 2" power infused into it by the transmetal driver. The Predacons who stole the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]] were pursued by [[Tigatron|Unit 2]], who was granted clearance from [[Maximal Defense Command]] to commandeer transport. The Maximal who would become Airazor was boarding her ship, the ''[[Chromia 10]]'', when Unit 2 approached and demanded use of it. "Airazor" at first refused, but suggested she was open to... persuasion. The call of adventure captured her interest, and instead of handing over the ''Chromia 10'' to Unit 2, she allowed him to hitch a ride, piloting it herself.

The ''Chromia 10'' intercepted the Predacons' ship, the ''[[Darksyde]]'', which was engaged in battle with the ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'' and guarded by a mysterious third ship. During the ensuing firefight, the ''Chromia 10'' was badly damaged. [[Optimus Primal]] had "Airazor" and Unit 2's [[spark]]s remotely uploaded to blank protoforms in the Axalon's cargo hold, which saved their lives, but severely damaged their core mainframes. {{storylink|Dawn of Future's Past}}

Rhinox deftly operated the stasis pod's controls and Cheetor offered up his own components to repair it. Immediately out of the pod, she outmaneuvered and destroyed [[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]]. Her aerial beast mode, at the time, made her the only Maximal other than [[Optimus Primal|Optimus]] who could fly. {{storylink|The Spark}}

She and Tigatron started to team up more frequently, a prospect Airazor seemed to welcome, but Tigatron preferred to work alone. Their first big adventure together came when a flying island paradise was discovered. The island, however, was covered in booby-traps which were triggered by the use of energy weapons. Airazor rescued Tigatron when he was ambushed by Predacons on the island, but she was damaged badly. Tigatron carried her on his back, refusing to leave her behind. The island was ultimately destroyed, much to the sadness and outrage of Tigatron, and he would have secluded himself from the other Maximals further if not for Airazor's concern. {{storylink|The Trigger, Part 2}}

Soon after, the Predacons beat Tigatron to another stasis pod, reprogramming it and unleashing [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]]. Once again, Airazor tried to work with Tigatron, but, once again, he insisted that he work alone. Airazor commented that sometimes you can be too alone. She was right, because then Tigatron got shot up a lot. Nearing death, Tigatron was saved by the arrival of Airazor and Optimus Primal. {{storylink|Spider's Game}}

After the realization that the aliens who seeded their planet with traps and energon were returning to destroy it, the Maximals and Predacons entered a truce. Optimus Primal used Airazor to try to sneak [[Rattrap]] into the Predacon base to find out what [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] was up to, but Megatron, of course, found them on his scanners and politely asked them to leave. Unbeknownst to Megatron, the ploy was a decoy for Tigatron's infiltration. {{storylink|Before the Storm|Before the Storm}} The aliens arrived and a new alien structure was built, trapping Airazor, who was tortured. Optimus Primal forced his way inside, with the help of the Predacons, and traded himself to the aliens for Airazor. After Primal was scanned and briefed by the aliens, they transformed the planet's artificial second moon into a [[Planet Buster]], which fired upon the planet, slowly igniting the unstable energon. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 1|Other Voices, Part 1}}

After the destruction of the [[Vok]]'s Planet Buster, {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 2|Other Voices, Part 2}} Airazor and Tigatron left together to find the rest of the missing stasis pods scattered across the planet. {{storylink|Aftermath|Aftermath}} While on their search, the two Maximals discovered not only a remarkably beautiful valley, but a strange plant. As the two looked into each other's eyes and held hands in quiet celebration, the plant transformed into another [[Vok]] device, and as they clasped hands, declaring their love to exist beyond the throes of death, the two were absorbed and shot into space. Airazor and Tigatron were kept in a form of stasis until near the end of the Beast Wars, when they were merged together into the powerful being [[Tigerhawk]]. Tigerhawk returned to Earth as the emissary of the Vok to stop the deterioration that the Beast Wars were causing to the timestream, his first act being to destroy the [[Darksyde]], sending the Predacons scrambling. [[Tarantulas]] managed to capture Tigerhawk and removed the Vok's influence from his frame (and absorbed it into himself), letting Airazor and Tigatron's [[Spark|sparks]] inhabit Tigerhawk's body. After awakening a stranded stasis pod containing [[Ramulus]], opening a second pod triggered an ambush by [[Spittor (BW)|Spittor]], [[Iguanus (BW)|Iguanus]], [[Razorclaw (BW)|Razorclaw]], and a reborn Transmetal 2 [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]]. Airazor immediately saved Tigatron's life, knocking Spittor aside before Tigatron would have unwittingly come in contact with Spittor's body, covered entirely in [[cyber venom]]. This maneuver left her vulnerable to Ravage's gunfire, which knocked her out of the air.

The battle ended catastrophically, and Ramulus, Airazor, and Tigatron were forced to carry a critically-wounded Primal Prime back to the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] after Tarantulas ripped the [[Matrix of Leadership]] from his chest. As Airazor and Tigatron conferred with the seemingly absent Vok, Airazor experienced great pains due to her battle wounds. However, she was separated from the rest of the [[Maximal|Maximals]] and was locked outside of their base during [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]]'s counterattack. As she flew in, [[Sentinel (BW)|Sentinel]]'s defenses began to fire at her. [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] attempted to shut Sentinel down, only to be stopped by [[Rattrap]], who warned him that Sentinel was the only thing protecting them from Quickstrike's army of [[Cobra Soldier|Cobra Soldiers]] and [[Scorpion Soldier|Scorpion Soldiers]]. Rhinox brushed him aside and shut Sentinel down, anyway. Airazor, who had been shot by Sentinel, swooped in for a crash-landing. Rattrap, feeling somewhat guilty, dove to soften her landing. Not long after this, [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] breached their defenses and took out both Rattrap and Airazor without effort. Rhinox saved her some time and appeared to shoot himself in the head. Feeling her job was done, Blackarachnia left as Quickstrike destroyed their base.

From a small section of the base that had been protected by a forcefield, Airazor aided Rattap and Rhinox in pulling [[Optimus Primal]]'s [[spark]] from [[Transwarp space]]. As Rhinox brought his spark out from oblivion, Rattrap funneled it through a ray device while Airazor positioned a reflective dish. Primal's spark bounced off the dish and connected with his body (which was being held by [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] at his base, the ''[[Hindenburg]]''), resurrecting him as a Transmetal. Airazor, still injured from before, began to plummet to the ground. Primal rescued her, destroyed Megatron's drone army, and carried her off on his flying surfboard. Her jet mode has an under-slung spring-loaded missile launcher (which flips over her shoulder in robot mode), plus she also has flip-out (non-firing) blasters as well.

* Airazor's gender in the [[Hasbro]] line is due to ''Beast Wars'' story editors [[Bob Forward]] and [[Larry DiTillio]]'s insistence. The original Airazor toy wasn't developed with a specific gender in mind, and Bob & Larry wanted a larger female presence in the show, and the Airazor toy seemed as good a choice as any. They requested the change early enough that the toy's packaging bio could have its pronouns changed to female (thank god). The later Transmetal version of Airazor was the first American-released Transformer mold created to represent a female character.

* In the Japanese dub of ''Beast Wars'', Airazor was turned into a boy as a means to (hopefully) increase toy-sales. For the TV series, his relationship with Tigatron was played off somewhat differently to avoid complaints of homosexuality. Tigatron was presented as a samurai retainer with protective feelings towards his young ward; their closeness addressed in a "brotherly" sort of way. Despite that, there was still enough innuendo left-over for the gender-bending to become unsettling. The Japanese script's near-relentless "jokey" tone didn't help. And there was simply no way for the dub team to get past the sequence in "Other Visits, Part I" when Airazor and Tigatron stare into each others' eyes while holding hands and slowly leaning in for a kiss, so in that instance the dub team had male Airazor fully "come out" and begin to express his affection for Tigatron just before the two of them were abducted by the Vok. Japanese magazine editors, responding to letters from confused young fans, gently explained that "some people are just like that".

* In the case of the [[Beast Wars Metals (manga)|''Beast Wars Metals'' manga]], however, Airazor's female gender was retained, as was her romantic relationship with Tigatron. This was due to the fact that Airazor's [[Transmetal]] toy had an indisputably feminine build. Though her gender was restored, her ''personality'' underwent an overhaul, no longer resembling her tough, tomboy-ish Western characterization. Since Japanese entertainment does not cotton to strong female characters in ''Transformers'' (these are the people who turned [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] into a secretary), Airazor was reduced to a helpless damsel in distress with a subservient and single-minded devotion to her "Tigatron-sama". Commence puke.

* Somewhat inexplicably, a number of the Italian toyline-specific names for various ''Beast Wars'' characters were '''only''' printed on the cardback for the Italian "video-pack" release of Airazor; the names do not even appear on the cardback for "video-pack" [[Razorclaw (BW)|Razorclaw]], who was presumably released in proximity to her, if not at the same time. The Italian names only printed on "video-pack" Airazor were: '''Insector''' ([[Powerpinch]]), '''Rapax''' ([[Lazorbeak]]), '''Vortex''' ([[Drill Bit (BW)|Drill Bit]]), '''Anfibius''' ([[Spittor (BW)|Spittor]]), '''Diablo''' ([[Snarl (BW)|Snarl]]), '''Cannibal''' ([[Manterror]]), '''Tenax''' ([[Retrax]]), '''Dingo''' ([[K-9]]), and '''Bison''' ([[Bonecrusher (BW)|Bonecrusher]]).

* The name of Airazor's ship in ''[[Dawn of Future's Past]]'', the ''[[Chromia 10]]'', is a reference to her original toy's Japanese ID number, and not to being "case fresh"... as is obvious from her dialogue.

* The ''Dawn of Future's Past'' Club [[exclusive]] toy is only ''sorta'' technically the '''second''' Club exclusive toy. She was actually shipped at the same time as [[Astrotrain (Timelines)|Astrotrain]], but he was the first toy ''advertised''.
