==Errors==
* Bluestreak's name is parsed as two words: Blue Streak.
* Cassette-mode Buzzsaw is colored almost entirely red.
* Cliffjumper's "Weaknesses" are written as if he still has his preliminary nomenclature of 'Blow-Out'.
* Hot Spot's name is parsed as "Hotspot".
* Huffer's art features a rounded hood behind his head, out of keeping with his toy, alternate mode, and usual [[character model]].
* The lower half of Kickback's face is colored the same blue-black as his body, as if he had a faceplate instead of a standard mouth.
* Megatron's art is based on his pre-animation model, including the differently-shaped head and a trigger on his fusion cannon. His pistol mode is mostly colored blue-black.
* Marvel had misplaced the model sheet for the front of Optimus Prime's vehicle mode, explaining why it is shown from behind.
* Ramhorn has a Decepticon symbol on both his rhino mode and his cassette mode.
* Roller and the Combat Deck are likewise not shown in Optimus Prime's entry.
* Perceptor's face gets the same colored-lower-half treatment as Kickback.
* The faces of Shrapnel, Sideswipe, Skywarp, Snarl and Slag are colored the same blue-black as their heads. Most should be white or light gray.
* Sideswipe is missing his shoulder missile launcher.
* Soundwave is drawn as though he has a mouth. He's colored purple instead of blue, but this is consistent with his appearance in the Marvel comics.
* Sunstreaker's entry notes his disdain for his brother Sideswipe's rear-mounted engine... even though ''Sunstreaker'' is the one with said engine.
* Steeljaw's entry is placed out of alphabetical order.
* Trailbreaker's forcefield projector is missing.
* Scourge's alternate mode is shown in the earlier (less toy-like) version which features his head poking out of the top, though his eyes have been replaced with some kind of scanner reading panel.
* The Movie characters' write-ups are incomplete. Arblus, Arcee, the Quintessons, and the Sharkticon are missing the "Abilities" section; Blurr, Cyclonus, Galvatron, Kup, Springer, Ultra Magnus, Wheelie and Wreck-Gar have no "Weaknesses" section.

The 2007 [[Transformers (2007)|''Transformers'' film]] was accompanied by one of the largest product blitzes in the history of the [[Transformers brand]]. The prominence of the movie allowed [[Hasbro]] to push the toy line to new levels of complexity and diversity.

In addition to the standard "main line" figures, several sub-lines were developed. Some, such as the [[Fast Action Battler]]s and [[Cyber Slammers]], are aimed at younger users. Others, such as [[Real Gear Robots]] and the various role play toys, expand on the plot and concepts of the movie.

Virtually all of the movie cast received multiple toy incarnations at various price points, from the tiny $4 [[Legends of Cybertron|Legends]] versions and two-for-$5 [[Robot Heroes]] PVCs up to the massive, complex, [[gimmick|electronic]] $80 Ultimate [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]]. Given the limited number of Transformers featured in the movie, the toyline naturally contains many additional characters. The main line movie figures attempt to emulate the spindly, multi-faceted appearance of the screen characters, succeeding to a remarkable degree. This aesthetic carries over to characters that do not appear in the movie, giving the line a unified appearance. Most alternate forms are realistically styled contemporary Earth vehicles, many of which are licensed replicas.

The main line figures feature an above-average design complexity, with figures such as Deluxe Bumblebee packing an amazing number of moving parts into a small package. Transformations are fairly complex, and tend to capture the movie's visual spectacle of a vehicle flying apart into a thousand pieces as the robots transform. The primary gimmick of the main line is "[[Automorph Technology]]", a gimmick by which moving one piece of a toy will in turn move other pieces into their designated positions via hidden gears, furthering the parallel with the movie's visuals.

Many of the vehicle modes' exteriors are formed by thin panels, but limbs and torsos are sufficiently integral to the vehicle-mode panels that they are not [[shellformer|shellformers]]. On some of the toys, these panels swing back on themselves or are otherwise concealed to such an extent that the finished robot gives comparatively little indication that it turns into a vehicle at all -- yet another point of unity with the movie's design aesthetic.

Since the movie's premiere, many fans have complained of a severe toy shortage in most markets, particularly the U.S. Mainline figures have proven to be more difficult to locate at retail than in many years, if not '''ever'''. This is due to the convergence of several factors:

*The tremendous success and high profile of the movie has vastly broadened the toy-buying audience, with many more kids, adult collectors, and [[Toy scalping|scalpers]] seeking out product.
*Major retailers such as Wal-Mart and Target placed orders for TF movie product based on their sales records for [[Cybertron (toyline)|Cybertron]] and [[Classics]] figures, as well as movie-related toylines in general, which tend not to do well (as the ''Spider-Man 3'' figures still warming shelves wherever you live can attest).
*Unusual congestion at Chinese factories and shipping docks lengthened the time necessary to produce and ship new figures to the West.

==Synopsis==
Skids has returned from [[Limbo]], but he's not alone -- the mind-leaches that infest the Limbo dimension have fashioned his nightmares into a reality, and that reality has followed him back to Earth in the form of monstrous creatures. The monsters taunt him, inviting him to join with them, but Skids vows to destroy them. To that end, he breaks into a nuclear power plant.

Elsewhere, Springer, Inferno and Broadside -- the last survivors of the decimated [[Wrecker]]s -- are getting the runaround from their superiors on Cybertron. Feeling frustrated, they're eager to join forces with their one-time brothers in arms Carnivac and Catilla, when the two Decepticons drop by for a chat. The pair explain how they got their new Pretender shells; Snarler shows up about that point, not at all sanguine about the proposed alliance. A human radio call for help provides a convenient out for the Autobots; Springer and company head out, while Carnivac discusses matters with Snarler. The choice is simple, Snarler tells him: kill the Autobots, or face a charge of fraternizing with the enemy.

Springer and company head into the power plant, where Skids remains hesitant to take definitive action against the creatures -- the creatures are a part of him, and he wonders if killing them will destroy him as well. But the Autobots tell him he's got to take firm action one way or another. They can't shoot, for risk of setting off the reactor, and the monsters are getting the upper Springer puts a call in to Carnivac.

Carnivac, with Snarler staring him down, hesitantly refuses to come help. Snarler is satisfied -- leaving the enemy to die is enough. But Carnivac can't suppress his warrior's honor, and changes his mind. Catilla's happy to join as well. As they head off, Snarler vows that he'll be the first to sign up for the execution squad.

The two Decepticons make a dramatic entrance into the battle, and quickly turn the tables against the monsters. One of the creatures confesses to Skids -- they can survive without him, and vice versa. Angry at being played for a fool, Skids joins the others in a short, swift fight to destroy the creatures.

Afterwards, Carnivac is ready to head out, as the Decepticons will surely be coming after them. But Springer says they're all in it together, and offers them a place on the team. Catilla accepts the offer to become an honorary Autobot; Carnivac also joins, but on his own terms, as a Decepticon. The Wreckers, Skids, and former [[Mayhem Attack Squad|Mayhems]] are now... the Survivors!

==Errors==
* Skids is drawn with [[Crosscut]]'s head and face throughout. Unfortunately, this means he looks like a completely different dude, <I>and</I> he can't really emote all that much.

==Continuity & References==
* Skids vanished into Limbo when [[Galvatron]] time-jumped from the future -- waaaay back in [[Fallen Angel]], 120 issues earlier.
* Carnivac, Snarler and Catilla were granted their shells by Scorponok in exchange for running a mission for him -- namely, to kill Fortress Maximus's human partner, Spike Witwicky. {{storylink|The Man in the Machine!}} As Catilla didn't appear in that US story, it's explained here that he "just monitored", with no further elaboration.
* It's not really clear where Snarler came from. He could be a reserve member of the Mayhems, a previously unseen member of Scorponok's crew, or a recent arrival from Cybertron, but there's no direct evidence to support any of these ideas.

==Items of note==
* The Survivors storyline would eventually tie into the alternate continuity of the [[Earthforce]] storyline. It's not clear where one draws the line between the main storyline and this portion of the Earthforce branch.
* This was originally meant to be a 2-parter, but the change in format in #213 led to it being hacked into four parts.
