:Brawl is a Decepticon from the live-action movie continuity family. He is sometimes referred to as Devastator.

To say Brawl is a warrior is like calling Cybertron a hunk of metal. Brawl does not just enjoy fighting, he is consumed by it. Tearing Autobots apart is embedded into his very core, and every fiber-optic cable of his being is obsessed with wild, unyielding combat. The only thing he enjoys, or even cares about, is the fury of battle. And he loves a good explosion. Particularly if it's one he created, and if it was an Autobot that is exploding.

Brawl (here named "Devastator") was known as Megatron's "pet weapon of mass destruction". He follows a single guiding principle - "keep it stupid... simple!"

Megatron threw him at the Autobots so he could reach the All Spark, and had armed him with a foldspace warhead. When the Autobots pointed out that at this range, the warhead would take him out as well, he replied "Eh. So?" and fired anyway. He loves a good explosion that much. Transformers Comic issue 2

Devastator ended up warped to an uninhabited world covered with cities, and out of sheer boredom went around smashing a lot of it before he realized he should try getting off the planet. The mysterious Flame, a power source that drove the planet's inhabitants to murder, tried to influence his mind towards rampaging until his fuel ran out; as he got nearer to it, it created apparitions of the other Decepticons that taunted him for his stupidity and attacked him. This failed to influence him as it would require Devastator to have introspection and care about being stupid - instead, he simply carried on to the Flame and left the planet, showing no interest in anything beyond doing his job. Transformers Comic issue 4

A mere half-hour after Megatron's death and before his body was dumped in the sea, Devastator was resurrected by Starscream as a mindless zombie, a soulless monster that would only destroy. It's what he would've wanted. Transformers Comic issue 7

While Starscream's forces assaulted the Autobots at Tyger Pax, Brawl bashed his way past faltering Autobot defenders, bringing news that Megatron knew where the All Spark was. When Starscream excitedly declared that he must go to the cube, Brawl questioned his loyalty, prompting Bonecrusher to threaten the latter with violence lest he not take the group to Megatron. After witnessing Megatron leave Cybertron to chase after the escaping All Spark, the Decepticons followed.

Crash-landing on Earth many years later, the Decepticons were detected by a nearby US air base, which sent an armoured personnel carrier to investigate. Brawl took the words right out of Bonecrusher's mouth, remaking that at last there was something to kill. Wreckage assumed the form of the carrier vehicle, destroyed it, then led Starscream's unit to the base. Brawl trans-scanned a nearby human tank and joined the others in leveling the base. Transformers Movie Prequel (Target) Volume 2

Brawl was oddly absent from events surrounding the Ghost 1 discovery. Whether he was aboard the Nemesis and otherwise indisposed or joined up with Starscream at a later date is unknown.
Brawl arrived in Mission City shortly after Jazz took down Starscream, Blackout and a pair of Dreadwings single-handedly. The Autobot's victory was short-lived... and so was the Autobot, as Brawl punctured Jazz's chest with his claw, extinguishing his spark. Ironhide arrived just in time to witness the killing, and fought through a horde of Decepticon units to destroy Brawl.

Brawl, Bonecrusher and Starscream were hiding out in a human military installation in the desert when they received word that Frenzy and Barricade had discovered the location of the AllSpark. When the three Decepticons mobilized, the two ground-based machines were assaulted by tanks designed to fire holding beams of electrical energy, forcing Starscream to back-and-forth babysit the two Decepticons as they tried to escape.

Brawl later stood by Megatron's side in Washington D.C. after they had retrieved the All Spark from the destroyed Autobots and had decimated pretty much everything in their path.

Transformers: Autobots
Brawl appears at the Hoover Dam after successfully defusing several bombs intended to free Megatron. As Optimus Prime attempts to rendezvous with the other Autobots, Brawl blocks his only path — a hidden Air Force hangar tunneled into the canyon. He fights with his claw and multitude of guns, and when he's taken enough damage, he will transform into tank mode, being aided by oblivious Sector 7 tanks. Here he becomes nearly invincible, with his only weakness being the tanks fighting alongside him. Just grab the tanks and use them to hit him.

Transformers: Decepticons
Brawl first appears in Qatar, where, under the command of a Create-A-Bot, he is commanded to prevent a convoy from entering a nearby village (recognizable by moviegoers as the town where Lennox fought Scorponok) to prevent the humans from getting an upper hand over the N.B.E.s. At the Hoover Dam, he is sent to capture a human tank, which he retrieves intact so as to interrogate the occupant human. Once the interrogation is done, the tank doesn't stay intact long, as he can be seen merrily destroying it while Create-A-Bot converses with Barricade. Later, he faces off against Ironhide in a 1-on-1 street brawl involving an apparent grudge over a past encounter.

Transformers (2007) film
Brawl (also named "Devastator" here) was lying in wait at a military depot when Starscream contacted the Decepticon infiltration team, informing them that the All Spark had been found and they were to move out. Devastator acknowledged that he was in transit and rolled out of the depot. He met up with Barricade and Bonecrusher and hit the highway, though Devastator separated from the group before Barricade and Bonecrusher got on the freeway and met up with Autobot/human convoy.

Arriving at Mission City in the aftermath of Starscream's opening attack on the Autobots and their human allies, Devastator fired shells from his main gun, narrowly missing several targets before running over vehicles abandoned by human bystanders. As the American soldiers fanned out in search of cover, the Autobots charged Devastator. He focused his attacks on Ironhide, who was forced to somersault over his shells. This distraction allowed the Autobot Jazz to jump on top of Devastator and point his cannon away from the humans. Devastator managed to transform and throw the smaller Autobot off him, but not before Jazz destroyed his left side rocket launcher pod.

Damaged, but not down, Devastator fired two rockets from his remaining launcher, missing the heavily armed Autobot as he somersaulted over the missiles. Ironhide and Jazz managed to fire several shots at Devastator, disorienting him. Ratchet followed up by using his buzzsaw to slice off Devastator's left arm. The humans then fired a volley of sabot rounds while Ratchet supported with suppressive fire, knocking Devastator to the ground. The only thing that saved him was the Autobots and humans' retreat at the arrival of Megatron. Eventually, Ironhide and Ratchet disengaged from the battle as they left to protect ladiesman217, who was escaping with the All Spark, while Jazz took on Megatron. Now with fewer targets to deal with, Devastator sprayed heavy machine gun fire at the remaining humans, whose leader remarked that the battle was not going well.

Devastator continued to pin down the soldiers until the damaged Autobot Bumblebee suddenly attacked while on the back of of a tow truck driven by Ladiesman217's female companion. Devastator tried to return fire, only for his machine gun, his last ranged weapon, to be destroyed by Bumblebee's plasma cannon. With the Autobot's return to battle being the deciding factor, the human soldiers rallied and fired more sabots, piercing Devastator's armor until a final shot from Bumblebee struck Devastator's spark and killed him. Devastator died as he lived: destroying things, for his chassis crashed into the building the human soliders had taken refuge in.

Devastator's body was dumped into the deepest part of the ocean along with his fellow Decepticons, in the hopes the intense pressure and cold will destroy whatever remained.Transformers (2007)
Deep Desert Brawl toy bio
In the final battle Brawl was not killed, but saturated with power from the All Spark and freed from the influence of Megatron. He disappeared into the rugged land around the Hoover Dam. Making his way over the course of months to the most troubled spot on Earth (presumably the Middle East), he adapted his vehicle mode to the new environment, went to ground and waited. Brawl now gains up energy from the blazing sun, and emerges only to satisfy his hunger for destruction by attacking and annihilating human convoys and armored columns. To those living in the region, he has become a myth, but to those few who survive his attacks he is an all too real monster.

*Decepticon Brawl (Deluxe Class, 2007)
**Japanese ID number: MD-03
**Accessories: Missile

: Deluxe-class Brawl transforms into a heavily modified fictional tank based upon an M1A1 Abrams, fitted with angular reflective armor, a mine plow and external spare fuel canisters. Mounted upon the turret is a smaller sub-turret housing two anti-aircraft cannons and rocket launchers. The spring-loaded main cannon fires a translucent red projectile.

: During transformation to robot mode, automorphing pushes down on the front of his tank during transformation raises the front of the treads and his head up into position for his robot mode, and vice versa for the tank mode. He is armed with his spring-loaded main gun on his right arm and a flip-out blade on his left.

: There is a design flaw in the way Brawl's arms attach to his torso - the rhombic peg and socket system used does not provide a tight enough fit, and thus the arms have a tendency to detach at the shoulder when moved. There have also been quite a few reports of the teeny-tiny automorph gears - molded out of fragile translucent plastic - cracking and breaking into pieces, leaving the automorph non-functional.

: "Double Missile Brawl" is a simplified version of Brawl. Designed for younger children, his transformation is designed with speedy conversion in mind, with relatively few steps compared to the Deluxe class Brawl. Additionally, in an effort to keep the design sturdy for play and safety, he has relatively low articulation for a figure of his size, while the design style of the figure is more rounded and 'friendly'. Two pressure-launched missiles are fired from his two missile pods.

*Decepticon Brawl (Cyber Slammer, 2007)

: Cyber Slammers Brawl is an amazingly cute tank that transforms into an amazingly cute sentient machine of mass destruction. "Slam" his robot mode down into tank mode and he rolls along, slowly transforming back up into robot mode. Like most Cyber Slammers, Brawl manages to cram most of his vehicle mode's major details into a compact, super-deformed version of that mode.

*Decepticon Brawl (Leader Class, 2007)

: The larger, more heavily armed version of Brawl, this figure is more accurate to the character's CGI model, with more articulation and weapons than the Deluxe-class figure.

: While having no firing missiles, it does feature a number of Automorph gimmicks. First, pressing the button on the front of the tank causes his head and chest pieces to move into position. A scoop/claw has been added to the front of the tank, probably to make the lever to push his head back down stand out less. Second, pressing the headlights on either side of the front end causes the paneling to swing back into place. Finally, Brawl has automorph weapons on each of his forearms - his right arm has a quadruple-barreled cannon that extended as you slide a switch forward, while his left features a swing-out claw, deployed by pulling back the arm's cannon.

: Other features include lights and sounds, activated by pushing back on the main cannon or turning the upper turret. The turret sounds can also be activated by pressing the two small buttons on the top of the turret, on either side of the machine gun. A pair of blades can also swing down from the legs.

: Possibly due to safety reasons or just the desire on the part of the designers to not see fragile parts break, the main cannon and anti-aircraft guns on Brawl's turrets detach from their mounting points rather easily.

:Titanium Series Brawl is a die-cast metal and plastic figurine, with an accurate sculpt based on the CG model (or the concept designs) owing to the fact he doesn't need to transform. Being a figurine, he only has articulation in his shoulders and waist. Brawl comes with a Movie-style Decepticon symbol display stand.

: Brawl is a 41-point "Rare" piece in the 3D Battle-Card Game. Constructed of punch-out pieces from plastic cards, he can be assembled into his tank mode, or a sort of representation of his robot mode. Oddly enough, he does not actually have his movie-model head; rather, he uses a recolored version of Barricade's noggin slapped on the Brawl body.

: He uses the same construction as the Wreckage and Blitzwing cards.
: Part of the second wave of Movie-assortment Robot Heroes, this adorable, super-deformed soft-plastic PVC of Brawl came in a two-pack with "Protoform" Jazz. He has swivel joints at the neck and shoulders.

* During the movie, Brawl identifies himself as "Devastator" in a subtitle, an early working name for the character. When queried at the Australian press conference, director Michael Bay said he had always preferred the name "Devastator". Writer Roberto Orci confirmed that he and his co-writer Alex Kurtzman considered this an "error", which they had pointed out in the editing room twice. In addition, at Botcon 2007 Hasbro representatives stated they consider "Devastator" a "continuity glitch", and as far as they are concerned, the character's name is "Brawl". Despite rumors to the contrary, he is not credited in the film under either name.

* According to Picture Vehicle Coordinator Steve Mann, the filming prop of Brawl was a redress of a tank prop made for another movie. Specifically, it was the 'stealth tank' seen in the film XXX: State of the Union.

* The name 'Brawl' was previously a working name for the character now called Barricade.

* A wallpaper on Hasbro's Transformers web site labels Brawl as "Demolisher", one of several working names for this character.

*Jazz' move of racing-transforming-boarding Brawl is not completely unlike the scene in The Transformers: The Movie where Kup does the same thing with Blitzwing. The DVD's special features confirm this was the inspiration.

* Brawl is the most heavily armed Transformer in the movie, followed by Blackout. Unfortunately for him, he has no chance to unleash his full armament, as many of his weapons are broken before he can use them. For example, Jazz kicks off the four-tube missile launcher on his left shoulder, and Ratchet slices off his left arm at the elbow, blades and all.
:Optimus Prime is the Autobot leader from the Robots in Disguise continuity family.

Optimus Prime is a stern and serious commander, devoted to protecting freedom and innocent life. He has seen the galactic path of conquest and destruction already burned by Megatron and swears it will not include Earth. Optimus Prime often finds himself in the role of "straight man" to the more comic stylings of the other Autobots and Predacons, and tends to treat their humorous exaggerations or personality quirks as statements of straightforward fact. His subordinates view him as a great leader, if stubborn and much too prone to long speeches. Optimus Prime's greatest weakness is his sense of nobility. If an adversary claims to have had a change of heart and discovered inner goodness, Prime will fall for it every single time.

Animated continuity
Robots in Disguise
:Voice actor: Neil Kaplan (English), Satoshi Hashimoto (Japanese), Guilherme Briggs (Portuguese)

Optimus Prime was created, along with Ultra Magnus, by Alpha Trion. The two of them were raised together, and thus, saw each other as brothers. However, this relationship was torn apart after the Cybertron Civil Wars, whereupon the Matrix chose Optimus Prime to command the Autobots in stopping the Predacon leader Megatron from ravaging the universe in his quest for energy. Ultra Magnus left Cybertron that same day, bitter and spiteful of his brother.

Prime soon struck up command on Earth, where he took the form of a fire truck. Operating out of a secret base in Metro City, he and his fellow Autobots were more than ready to face Megatron and his Predacons. The conflict began when Megatron appeared in New York, attempting to kidnap the famous scientist Doctor Onishi. Optimus struck up a friendship with Onishi's son, Koji, and despite not being able to save the boy's father, vowed that he would help rescue him.

In the events that followed, Prime was forced to deal with the Predacons' many energy-grabbing schemes, either personally, or indirectly by way of helping T-AI coordinate the movement of his troops by way of the Global Space Bridge.

However, Prime soon found another threat, in the form of the Decepticons - namely, one named Scourge. Scourge was a corrupted Autobot protoform, who, in addition to being infused with Megatron's evil, scanned Optimus Prime and a tanker truck at the same time, resulting in his looking like a twisted clone of the Autobot leader. Prime hoped that Scourge and his fellow Decepticons would one day be restored to their true Autobot selves, but after the Decepticons themselves tried to use this to trick him, he decided he should not allow this to cloud his judgement.

Matters escalated when Ultra Magnus appeared on Earth, making his desire to take the Matrix from Optimus Prime known to his "brother." Optimus refused to fight Magnus, and was thus, mercilessly fired upon, until Side Burn, Prowl, and X-Brawn arrived to carry him away. Prime took refuge on a deserted island, but the Decepticons, Megatron, and Magnus both tracked him there. In the midst of the battle, Magnus forcibly activated their ability to combine into Omega Prime, intending to use it to drain Prime of his energy so he could take the Matrix, but Optimus managed to take control and use their combination to stop the Decepticons. This fusion apparently resulted in both Autobots sharing the Matrix's power, which led to Magnus's attitude softening towards his brother.

Eventually, it was revealed that Megatron's true purpose on Earth was to take control of the massive Autobot, Fortress Maximus. These events led to Megatron becoming the more powerful Galvatron, who eventually devastated the Autobot forces. In his final battle with the evil leader, Prime and Magnus combined into Omega Prime to face Galvatron at the Earth's core. They were seemingly no match for him, until Fortress Maximus sent them his power, which energized the Matrix, forming the giant weapon, the Matrix Blade. Galvatron was defeated, and with that, the Autobots' mission on Earth was finished, and Prime resolved to return to Cybertron - but not before "one last look around" with Koji and the rest of his team.

Dreamwave comic
The Robots in Disguise short story seemed intent on being part of the cartoon's continuity, but its exact placement between episodes is unclear.

With the other Autobots all engaged in other fights around the world, Optimus Prime alone was available to answer TAI's battle protocol at an experimental nuclear generator in Arizona. His opening plan was to lure the Predacons and Decepticons away from the humans to battle them at a safe distance, but his wayward brother Ultra Magnus intervened, confronting the villains head on in the middle of the generator plant. As Prime chastised Magnus for his rash action, Scourge overheard and seized on the idea to threaten the humans if the Autobots didn't stand down. Despite his anger at Optimus, Ultra Magnus remembered his Autobot training and reluctantly laid down his weapon. At the proper moment, though, the brothers managed to attack a distracted Scourge and save the humans. The Predacons and Decepticons escaped with the generator, but the humans were safe.
During the final battle with the Minions of Unicron in the Pit, Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus (as Omega Prime) were fighting alongside the Children of Primus when the corrupt pocket universe began to collapse around them. Omega Prime and the others fled through a dimensional portal, but the powerlinxed brothers were diverted by the former Mini-Con Over-Run into another reality, just in time to stop Nemesis Prime from unleashing the Dead Matrix inside the Spark Chamber of Primus. The evil clone was vanquished, and the brothers hooked up with Sentinel Maximus and his comrades as they attempted to fortify Cybertron against the Unicron Singularity.

Working relatively behind the scenes while that reality's Optimus Prime and his crew searched for the Cyber Planet Keys, Optimus Prime and his brother found themselves moderating an internal dispute among the Mini-Con colonies in Cybertron's debris field, and were engaged with a Cybertronian-sized version of Unicron himself when Primus first transformed due to an infusion of Cyber Key Power. Some months later, after the final battle with the Cyber Key empowered Galvatron, Optimus Prime first met his local counterpart, and they exchanged information on their endeavors over the last few months. With the newly reformed Unicron on the loose after their last encounter, Optimus chose to join Ultra Magnus and Sentinel Maximus in hunting him down. The final fate of their mission, and whether the brothers ever returned to their home reality, remains to be seen.
**Japanese ID number: C-001

: Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime transforms into a Japanese Hino Brandlier fire truck. Harkening back to Generation 1 toys, he features chromed wheels with rubber tires. The forward section of his truck detaches to become his standard robot mode. His 'trailer' can be reconfigured into a sort of battle station. The station can then be disassembled and attached around the robot to form his Battle Mode. His standard robot can combine with Ultra Magnus to form Omega Prime.

: The original Japanese Car Robots release differs from the US version in that it has a darker, metallic-flake plastic, and has no Autobot symbols tampo-printed on the shoulder pads. Obviously, the voice clips used for the Japanese toy are also different, with the Hasbro toy proclaiming that Optimus Prime will Maximize, possible a mistake. Additionally, the US version has the unfortunately tendency for its rubber tires to split down its molding connection. Furthermore, Fire Convoy's missles are of a different mold on the Japanese toy, and he is able to fire (if by "Fire" you mean "have-them-fling-up-into-the-air-and-fall-to-the-ground-instantly") all of his missiles at once if the special trigger for his ladder missiles are hit, along with the ability to fire one missile at a time. The US version only allows for one missile to be fired at a time when they are activated. There is some Japanese letters on Optimus - translate please
It has no standard robot mode and parts do not detach. Oddly, all promotional images of this figure depicted it colored in orange.
: A Sam's Club exclusive, the Universe release of Robots In Disguise Optimus Prime basically swapped out all of his red plastic for a yellow-orange color. He came packed in robot mode in an upright display package with a sticker on the front of a hilariously mistransformed Omega Prime advertising the toy's combining ability with the slightly redecoed Universe release of Robots In Disguise Ultra Magnus.

As he is much simplified compared to the larger toy, the (largely hollow) front of the vehicle cannot seperate and form the standard robot more, nor can the rear of the vehicle form the battlestation. Instead, the entire fire truck transforms into simplified version of the super robot Battle Mode.
Trivia
* For this incarnation of Optimus, voice actor Neil Kaplan specifically impersonated the voice of the original Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen. Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime is one of the few Optimuses whose English voice actor isn't Cullen or Gary Chalk. At conventions, Kaplan refers to himself as "the George Lazenby of Optimus Primes".

* Cybertron "Multi-Pack" Optimus Prime's on-package bio seems to indicate he's Unicron Trilogy Optimus Prime. However, his (and Magnus') deco was later used in the Fun Publications Cybertron fan club magazine comic as Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime having traveled to the Unicron Trilogy universe.

* Persistent net rumors abound about early or supplemental Japanese material establishing Optimus and his Autobots being part of a "Dimensional Patrol" that follows the Predacons either back in time or from another universe. This is not supported in-show and no solid evidence supporting it has ever surfaced elsewhere.... except in the 3H supplemental materials, which established the "Dimensional Patrol" as a post-cartoon organization.

* Fans in Japan joke that Optimus Prime is an Autobot Emperor of Destruction rather than an Autobot Supreme Commander, due to his actions in the Car Robot anime.
He transforms into a red truck cab that can be fitted with many kinds of "trailer" attachments including the classic G-1 box crate (most notably one that makes him look like a fire engine) and wields a kick-ass, rocket-powered, extendable battle axe, as well as wrist-mounted grappler cables.

Sentinel Prime sneers at Optimus's lowly repair job. More than anything, Prime wishes to be a hero. He's got the speeches, he's got the moves...but what is he missing?
Maybe The Touch?
On a mission, Optimus and Elita-1 accompanied Sentinel to a forbidden organic planet in search of a lost Decepticon ship rumored to be rich in Energon. After finding the planet to be infested with giant spiders, the trio finally decided to leave, but their retreat was not easy. Though Optimus and Elita found the Decepticon ship and its coveted energon cubes, they were forced to escape when spiders surrounded them. However, Elita was left behind, presumed destroyed in an energon explosion. Sentinel was furious and blamed Optimus for her death. Along Came a Spider

Some time after this dark moment, Prime either abandoned or flunked the Autobot Academy and eventually found himself leading a small space bridge repair crew a thousand stellar cycles later. Prime and his crew came across the AllSpark while repairing a Space Bridge and brought the artifact aboard their ship. During transport, they were discovered by the Decepticons, and Megatron came after them. He proved too strong to take head on (in spite of his subordinate planting a bomb on his chassis), but when the Autobot ship neared Earth, Prime knocked Megatron overboard. The Autobots stayed in stasis for the next 50 years until they were accidentally awakened by an apparent intruder. Optimus and the Autobots took on Earth vehicles as alternate modes in an attempt to assimilate with what they believed to be the local dominant culture. Prime and his team were able to dispatch a bio-mechanical insectoid that was attacking Detroit. They were hailed as heroes for it.

Over the next several weeks, the Autobots got to learn human culture and and customs, doing their best to prevent disasters and save lives. Eventually, Starscream came for the AllSpark, and Optimus found that the schemer could pack quite a punch. The Autobot officer was still able to keep Starscream from getting the artifact, though at the cost of his life. However, he was quickly revived by Sari Sumdac and her AllSpark-influenced key. Later, the Autobots helped rebuild parts of Detroit that were destroyed in their battle with Starscream. Transform and Roll Out!

Unfortunately for Optimus, he had gained a reputation outside of Earth's atmosphere—not as a hero, but as the slayer of Megatron. The Decepticon Blitzwing placed a large bounty on his head, and pretty soon, Lockdown came to collect. He captured Prime and stole his axe and grapplers. Fortunately, Ratchet saved him, finally getting the old bot to open up more. The Thrill of the Hunt

During the Autobots' first Halloween on Earth, the Decepticon Blackarachnia showed up and kidnapped Sari. When Optimus Prime tried to fight her, she dodged all his moves, as she had trained with him. Prime was shocked to learn that Blackarachnia was his old Autobot Academy classmate Elita-1, who hadn't died but been mutated while fighting off the giant arachnids those many years ago. Blackarachnia tried to use Sari's AllSpark key to remove the organic aspects from her biology, but the key began to drain the life from everything organic around and nearly killed Blackarachnia herself. Prime removed the key, saving Blackarachnia and the organics. Still calling her Elita, Prime tried to convince her to return to the Autobots so they could try and help her. She repaid that kindness by injecting him with venom and telling him that she would never trust him again. Prime was left to reflect on the friend he'd failed not once, but twice. Along Came a Spider

When Decepticon energy signals were detected near the city, the Autobots quickly realized that their options were limited. Bulkhead mentioned that the Dinobots might help, forcing Prowl to reveal how the two moved them to Dinobot Island. Prime's reaction was...displeased, to say the least. Prime also concluded that the Key was no longer safe with Sari, and he ordered Ratchet to take it from her. As Sari ran off crying, Bumblebee mouthed off that their situation was an indication that Prime was unfit for command.

Heading to Dinobot Island, Prime did not get off to a good start with Grimlock, mostly because Grimlock considered him lunch. After Prowl smoothed things over, Prime tried to convince them to help the Autobots fight the Decepticons, but Grimlock was uninterested. Receiving word from Ratchet that the Key had been stolen, Prime ordered Ratchet to guard the AllSpark while the Autobots headed back for the mainland. Prime himself also began to wonder if he was fit for command, seeing as all his decisions had blown up in his face. When Bumblebee contacted the Autobots to inform them that Starscream was at Sumdac Tower, he refused Prime's order to hold back and went to attack the Decepticon on his own. Prime dryly noted that the day just kept getting better and better.

Then everything pretty much went to hell when Megatron burst out of Sumdac Tower, to the shock and horror of just about everyone. Megatron Rising - Part I

Quickly regaining their composure, the Autobots attacked. Megatron beat the slag out of them. Though Optimus faired slightly better, Megatron still brought him down fairly quickly. They were only able to escape when Megatron punished Starscream for his betrayal. Taking refuge within Sumdac Tower, Professor Sumdac explained his role in Megatron's revival, and helped repair the Autobots with residual key energy. After Bumblebee called Prime to answer for his earlier assessment of them, Prime admitted he was wrong, and asked them for forgiveness. As Ratchet and Sari showed up with the Ark, the Autobots took flight, hoping to lure the Decepticons away from Earth to prevent human casualties. Unfortunately, the Decepticons shot down the Ark and caused it to crash on Dinobot Island.

As the Autobots took on the Decepticons, Optimus faced down Megatron. It went as well as the first time. When Megatron got into the Ark, he took the AllSpark and placed it within him, using it as a weapon against Prime. However, Megatron had dropped the key, and Sari threw it to Prime. The Autobot officer used the key to send a surge of energy through the AllSpark, causing it to disperse while still in Megatron. With the threat passed, Prime apologized to Sari and returned the key, saying it was too important to be trusted with an Autobot. Megatron Rising - Part II

After the battle with the Decepticons, the Cybertron Elite Guard arrived to take the AllSpark back to Cybertron. Optimus explained that the AllSpark had been dispersed, and that the Decepticons had been defeated. Sentinel Prime accused Optimus of lying, and took every chance he could to belittle his former friend, but Ultra Magnus decided to investigate their claims. Optimus took them to Dinobot Island, but the Autobots did not make a good impression on the Dinobots. Before they could investigate, they recieved a message from Ratchet, saying that police drones had gone haywire at a Sumdac Systems manufacturing plant. Optimus managed to get Sari inside and shut off the assembly line, but the key was stuck in the console. Before Optimus could help, Sentinel pushed him aside and promised to see Optimus charged for high treason. Tired of Sentinel's slag, Optimus finally stuck up for himself and told Sentinel where to shove it, destroying the console the key was stuck in and revealing an AllSpark fragment. Ultra Magnus accepted the shard as proof of Optimus Prime's claims. Though Sentinel still refused to believe him, Magnus said that Optimus Prime displayed many qualities that Sentinel himself could use. The Elite Guard

The Return of the Headmaster
When Sentinel and Optimus were at a press conference with the mayor, they recieved a call about a Decepticon sighting in old Detroit. After Sentinel managled the roads en route, he told Optimus to split up and search on his own. Hours later, he recieved a communication to from Sentinel to dismiss the police and come to his location alone. What Optimus found was Sentinel Prime's severed head, with his body having been stolen by the Headmaster. He promised to help Sentinel find his body without letting Ultra Magnus or the other Autobots know, but did take a moment or two to enjoy the situation. Heading for Sumdac Tower, Porter C. Powell denied knowing where Masterson was, and told him the Autobots were no longer welcome at Sumdac Tower. Bugging the phone lines, Optimus listened in on Powell and Masterson's conversation, letting Optimus track him to the docks. Encountering min-Headmasters in the form of Tutor Bot and Sparkplug, Prime was able to get aboard the ship before it sailed away. Finding the Headmaster with Sentinel Prime's body, Optimus Prime proceeded to beat the living slag out of Headmaster in Sentinel's body (much to the discomfort of Sentinel). Finally defeating the mad scientist, he reattached Sentinel to his body, but Masterson walked away due to technicalities. When Ultra Magnus asked them about it the next day, Optimus covered for Sentinel, saying that Sentinel had volunteered to use himself as bait to capture Masterson, and Magnus praised their bravery. In an awkward moment, Sentinel thanked Optimus for all he'd done, and the two shook hands amicably. The Return of the Headmaster

:Based on his pre-Earth Cybertronian look, the first version of Animated Optimus Prime transforms into a half-track Cybertronic truck loosely based on the Mitsubishi Fuso Hybrid concept truck. As a half-track, instead of rear wheels, he has molded, caterpillar-linked tracks with smaller wheels inside for rolling along smooth surfaces. Prime's axe weapon is stored by partially folding the axe at the grey hinge near the handle peg, then placing the handle peg in a hole on the back of the cab (actually his two fists' holes, thus helping them holding in position) with the blade facing down and a grey peg facing up, acting as a "fifth wheel" (known as a trailer hitch among fans), should one find a suitable trailer to attach onto it.

:He has a superb range of articulation, as is the standard with Animated toys, due to the extensive use of ball joints and universal hinge joints. As stated above, the hitch assembly becomes his axe, which can be wielded with one blade (for the rocket-boosted look) or have the single blade split to form a double-bladed axe. The truck roof is mounted on his left arm as a shield or can be separated in two and be attached to the axe to become giant energon blades.
*Optimus was killed off after only one episode (three if you want to get technical) and revived 1 minute and 15 seconds later. *The placement of Optimus' Cybertronian vehicle mode front wheels is similar in location to those on Optronix.
*The twin cylinder shaped protrusions connected to Optimus' small antennae are inspired by the head design of the 2007 movie rendition of Optimus Prime, as opposed to the traditional single cylinder.
*While Sentinel Prime does a lot of down talking to Optimus Prime, they are, in fact, the same rank.
*Prime's axe resembles the Autobot symbol, if you flip the blade so that it's facing upwards.
