Rippersnapper was first spotted with his fellow Terrorcons inside [[Unicron]]'s head. [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] used them to blast into Unicron so he could retrieve more [[Anti-electron|anti-electrons]] for an attack against the Autobots. Rippersnapper and his consorts did a decent job in keeping the Autobots at bay, but were quickly forced into retreating when [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] finished building the [[Technobot (G1)|Technobots]], and gave them the ability to merge into [[Computron (G1)|Computron]]. {{storylink|Grimlock's New Brain}}

Later on, the Terrorcons were seen under the service of the [[Quintessons]]. When [[Dirk Manus]] and his Technobot escorts were on their way through space, Abominus swooped down and attacked, shooting them from the sky. The automatic timer in Abominus, placed within by the Quintessons, forced Abominus to separate into his Terrorcon compenments. The team was upset they couldn't finish the task of destroying the Autobots, and Rippersnapper was quick to show the most hostility, not wanting to stop now. In 2011, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons journeyed to Cybertron over the long-abandoned Decepticon [[Space Bridge]]. They were part of the first wave of Galvatron's siege, hoping to gain control of [[Vector Sigma]]. Rippersnapper's team combined into Abominus to battle [[Superion (G1)|Superion]]. {{storylink|Four Warriors Come out of the Sky}} Later on, Abominus teamed up with his fellow combiners to wage war on their Autobot counterparts. Their victory seemed assured until the [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Battleship Maximus]] swooped in and scattered the Decepticon combiners. They barely survived the encounter. {{storylink|The Mystery of Planet Master}} On Earth, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons intervened on [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]]'s search for the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. [[Chromedome]] and the Autobot [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmaster]]s kept the Terrorcons busy so that Hot Rod could complete his mission. Even after the Terrorcons formed Abominus, the Headmasters stood against them, and the arrival of Computron swung the odds firmly on the Autobots' side. When Galvatron launched a [[Metamorpho|gravity-warping meteorite]] at the Autobots on [[Athenia]], he brought along Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons to occupy the Autobot forces. Scorponok devised a scheme to harvest [[plasma energy]] from the planet [[Mars]] by setting off a series of explosives that would utterly destroy the planet, releasing its stored energies. Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons were responsible for planting the bombs. Hun-Gurrr was spotted by [[Daniel Witwicky (G1)|Daniel Witwicky]], [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]] and [[Shōki]] of the Trainbots, but the other Terrorcons managed to take them hostage. Hun-Gurrr left Rippersnapper and [[Sinnertwin (G1)|Sinnertwin]] in charge of the hostages, while he took the other Terrorcons to finish planting the charges. They caught an amusing show as Wheelie and Danny fought in their cell, but the tussle was actually a feint to hide a homing signal Danny sent out to his father. The Headmasters soon arrived and drove off Sinnertwin and Rippersnapper, freeing the hostages. {{storylink|Explosion on Mars!! Maximus Is in Danger}} Regrouping, the Terrorcons managed to get two of the three sites set before being set upon by [[Raiden]] and the Headmasters. Soon after, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons joined Sixshot the returning Galvatron on an energy raid. They sought to prevent the Autobots from re-energizing the distant world of [[Sandra]], and steal the energy for themselves. While the other Terrorcons were having fun, Rippersnapper seemed more serious than the others: dedicated to proving how powerful they were to the Nebulans, and disgusted at the idea of organic life instead of mechanical. Despite being robotic lifeforms with generally non-sexual methods of [[Reproduction | reproduction]], the [[Transformer]] species has almost always been shown to include both male and female gender analogues, at least mentally if not physically. '''Female Transformers''' are usually portrayed as comparatively rare, but are considered an official part of the Transformers franchise in every continuity.

==Appearence==

The appearence of Female Transformers in most continuities would seem to suggest a level of "sexual" dimorphism is present in at least the more humanoid members of the Transformers species (the term sexual is used in a gender-based, rather than physical sense, see the reproduction link above for that whole kettle of robo-fish). In almost all cases female Transformers are portrayed as comparatively more gracile of form, and more rounded and curved in general, than their male counterparts. Often they have a more than passing resemblance to an attactive human female made of metal and wearing armor and kibble, though there are exceptions to this rule, and bulky, less human-like females have been seen from time to time (notably [[Strika]] and [[Discharge]], though the latter is said to be wearing armor that obscures her true appearence.)

Only female Autobots are ever seen in this continuity, and given the appearence of [[Beta]] back in the slave days under Quintesson rule it seems clear they were produced alongside the male Autobots as part of the Quintessons domestic product line, likely for those races that prefered female-style servants. It seems from all evidence (though it is not confirmed) that the millitary hardware line did not possess a counterpart to this, thus no female Decepticons are ever seen.

No female Transformers are ever seen in the US stories. The UK stories specifically establish that the Transformers have no gender naturally, and [[Arcee]] is created as the sole female Transformer in an attempt to placate [[human]] feminists. According to DK's Transformers: The Ultimate Guide, "Transformers are inherently non-gender specific, and only some quirk of their timelost origins can account for their (female Transformers) difference in appearance and attitude." Dreamwave was in the process of introducing more female Transformers and explicating their links to the Quintessons in this continuity when it went out of buisness.
