The [[Decepticon|Decepticons]] used the singer's popularity to their advantage, sabotaging a concert in an unknown city in northwestern [[Oregon]]. Shortly after the show began, they placed a [[power siphon]] over the stage to convert the music and the crowd's roars of applause into [[Energon (fuel)|energon]]. This had the unfortunate side effect of sucking away most of the music, until a team of Autobots led by Bumblebee foiled the plan by snapping the siphon's cable. This prompted the Decepticons to counter-attack.

When a stray cluster bomb damaged Springhorn's stage rigging, the Autobot [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]] popped up in the middle of the concert to stop it from falling and repair it. The easy-going Springhorn explained the giant robot as simply part of the show.

While escorting the [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]] to [[Mission City]], Prime and the [[Autobot]]s were set upon by the Decepticons [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]], the latter of whom went to robot mode on the freeway to confront the Autobots. [[Transformation|Transforming]] himself, Optimus engaged Bonecrusher in a short but fierce battle, with the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] punching Bonecrusher off an overpass with sufficient force to knock out one of his optics. Partially blind and more enraged than usual, Bonecrusher began wildly swinging his tail claw, but Optimus ducked behind a support pole and unsheathed his right Energon Sword. Using it to full effect, Optimus sliced off Bonecrusher's arm and then jammed the sword through the Decepticon's neck, decapitating him. {{storylink|Transformers (2007)|Transformers}}

While trying to rescue [[Sam Witwicky]] from the Decepticons, Optimus was forced into a three-on-one battle against [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]], [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], and [[Grindor (ROTF)|Grindor]]. After having his mouth plate shattered, Optimus unsheathed the Dual Energon Swords, slicing and dicing his would-be destroyers Starscream and Grindor, repeatedly impaling the former and relieving the latter Decepticon of his right arm, rotors, and ribs using his swords before throwing the right blade into his chest, and removing his head using a set of hooks.

Later, after Optimus Prime was resurrected by [[Matrix of Leadership]] and combined with the parts of [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]], he worked his way through the floating ring of debris surrounding the [[solar harvester]] to reach Megatron and [[The Fallen]]. The battle between them was short, with Optimus slicing off Megatron's [[fusion cannon]] arm with his remaining Energon Sword before sending him flying through some ruins, and ended with Optimus slicing off The Fallen's chin with the blade and proceeding to ''tear off his face'' with The Fallen's own staff.
