Cyberforming is the process of converting a planet into an environment hospitable to mechanical lifeforms, particularly Cybertronians. It can be performed rapidly through devices capable of converting organic matter to technological matter, such as the Key to Vector Sigma. It can also be performed manually in a much more gradual process, such as that performed by the Cybertronian Empire in the construction of the Hub.

Beast Machines
In the Beast Machines cartoon, the Oracle revealed that even Cybertron itself was not originally technological, but was cyberformed under the direction of the Quintessons.<div id="wikia-credits"><br /><br /><small>From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki, a Wikia wiki.</small></div>

The Hub was the seat of power of the Cybertronian Empire. A powerful planet-spanning network of cyberformed structures, it housed the Decepticon progenitor known as the Liege Maximo. Inhabiting it were a wide variety of mechanical organisms, beings that might have once been Decepticons, but had been advanced to the point of having multiple forms and reduced to a hive mentality, little more than extensions of the Liege Maximo's will.

Alignment
The Hub had long been performing a complex operation through successive iterations, its accuracy improving as planets were added to the network. The goal of this operation was to allow the Liege Maximo to ascend to the realm of the Dark Gods. At a critical moment this operation was disrupted on two fronts by a small group of Autobots led by Grimlock and an alliance of Decepticons and Autobots led by Ultra Magnus and a resurrected Megatron. Megatron actually managed to wound his ancestor before perishing, which caused the Liege Maximo to panic and attempt to enter the portal prematurely. It collapsed, destroying him. The resolution of this threat led to the signing of the Pax Cybertronia.Alignment
:The Cybertronians are a faction in the Generation 2 portion of the Generation 1 continuity family. They're sometimes refered to as Second Generation Decepticons or some variation thereon.

The Cybertronians were a result of Decepticon rediscovery of Bio-Morphic Reproduction ("budding") ~4 million years ago on Cybertron. The Decepticons were able to rapidly expand their population using this method.

These new Decepticons left Cybertron in the hands of petty warlords unfit for the future empire and took to the stars to conquer other worlds.

In the modern era, the Cybertronian Empire has adopted an aggressively expansionist stance. They claim to have advanced their society beyond the need for war, but hold little regard for non-Cybertronian lifeforms. Under the cause of improving the quality of life for their citizens, they have conquered many worlds, enslaving or exterminating the native population and cyberforming the planets to create "little Cybertrons."

This was apparently under the direction of the Decepticon progenitor known as the Liege Maximo, who rules them from the planet-spanning structure known as the Hub, which harnesses the networked power of the cyberformed planets. The construction of this network was later revealed to be part of a gambit by the Liege Maximo to ascend to the plane of the Dark Gods.

Physiology
The new Transformers created by budding felt little or no emotional attachment to Cybertron. In fact, they felt little at all. Primus' plan had shut down reproduction via budding at the intended point and the more these new Decepticons reproduced after that the more thinly his life force was streatched between them, the more they "watered down the line" to use Megatron's phrasing, leading them to be "born" less and less emotional and more and more robotic in nature.

They have a tendency towards a uniform color scheme of light green and silver. Many of the smaller troops must combine in pairs to form one alternate mode (This may possibly be a symptom of their degenerating "genetic" line).

Decepticon or Cybertronian?
Many citizens of the Cybertronian Empire have long since forgotten the terms "Autobot" and "Decepticon" in the millennia since leaving their birthworld. However their forebears are remembered bitterly by individuals such as Liege Centuro Jhiaxus. By his reckoning the Empire are the "true" Decepticons, having achieved the inborn Decepticon imperative of galactic conquest. He judges the Decepticons and Autobots they left behind as "evolutionary throwbacks." However, given Jhiaxus' former barbarism, he might be projecting his own issues onto his forebears.

Trivia
*The Cybertronian faction-symbol was also adopted by Bludgeon's Decepticon forces during their period of exile from Cybertron while operating outside of the Milky Way. It's possible the symbol has a common cultural meaning that would cause two disconnected groups of Decepticons expatriates to gravitate towards it. (However, in a real world sense, it's likely that the Generation 2 faction symbols were mandated by Hasbro as no current toys used the original Decepticon symbol.)
Transformers: Victory continues the Transformers saga in the year 2025. The Decepticons, led by Emperor Deathsaurus, are plotting to take over the galaxy piece by piece. By using the energy from captured planets, Deathsaurus hopes to resurrect his old Space Fortress which Star Saber sealed in the Dark Nebula. With its power, the Decepticons can then launch the conquest of the entire universe.
Armada
Prior to the war, Dualor was a resident of Mini-con Village C52. Dualar always longed to assert himself, but Rollbar's level-headed leadership never gave him a chance.

Dualor was captured alongside his fellow residents when Cyclonus broke through the village's defenses. After their escape craft crashed on Earth's moon, Dualor finally found himself in the position of responsibility he'd long craved, founding the Mini-Con Militia and building the concealed Mini-con Fortress Base, using the constant threat of future Decepticon aggression to build a stable, regimented society which he rules with his fellow members of the Destruction Team Buzzsaw and Drillbit

When the Mini-Cons on Earth awakened one million years later, Dualor was prepared to take drastic action to de-escalate the situation. He sent an Ark to Earth, involuntarily drawing many of the planet's Mini-cons to him via an override signal.

The moon base is prepared for any possible Decepticon invasion, with massive ammunition stockpiles. The Mini-Con militia is less keen on the idea of fighting the Autobots (Buzz Saw even admired Optimus Prime,) nut Dualor fears that they have grown too dependent on Mini-Con augmentation to be trusted> He secretly places the Autobots' human ally Rad (who had stowed away on the Ark) in an orbital mine to dissuade Optimus Prime's approach.

Leader-1 subsequently attacked Dualor and his teammates in order to take over the Fortress' control center in a bid to destroy Megatron. The attempt was unsuccessful, but resulted in the incapacitated Destruction Team falling into Megatron's clutches.

Megatron discovers the Destruction Team has installed a feedback failsafe to prevent them from being used against their will again, but Dualor is willing to make a deal; they'll give Megatron pure unfettered power with no afterburn in exchange for a bigger say in what's going on around here. Megatron accepts, and then designates that Cyclonus will be using the powerup, instead of him.

Predictably, Dualor lied. The Destruction team channels too much energy into Cyclonus, causing him to overhead and go crazy(er) while on a million to Alaska. For this MEgatron consigns them to the Punishment Cube, used for disciplining naughty Mini-Cons.

Dualor and his teammates Buzz Saw and Drill Bit wre not among the Decepticon Mini-Cons released for the final battle with Unicron. Megatron is vague on their fate, simply saying that they are "better off without them." None of the Destruction Team were ever seen again.

: In November of 2003, US Toys "R" Us stores had special bonus pack Max-Con (Deluxe) toys, which came with a single bonus Mini-Con attached to the card over their sticker, for less than the price as a normal Max-Con during Toys "R" Us' post-Thanksgiving-day sale. Each of the Destruction Team Mini-Cons could come packaged with either Blurr or Sideways.
*Road Wrecker Mini-Con Team & Night Attack Mini-Con Team

: An unaltered version of the Road Wrecker Team was released as part of an Energon-series "Mini-Con 6-pack" with the Night Attack Mini-Con Team.
Trivia
* The name "Dualor" shows up as one of the sponsor-labels on Alternators Decepticharge.
* A team of mis-colored Mini-cons based on the Destruction Team in the first two issues of Dreamwave's Armada comic is apparently not the real Destruction Team, this trio was left behind on Cybertron when everyone else escaped, and never seen again.
